Reviews (page 8 of 14)
Wayne Coyne is one interesting guy. The expanded palette on this release gives The Flaming Lips a depth the earlier work did not have. Better songs help as well. All the while without losing the weird factor that made The Flaming Lips who they are. Is it a classic? When it was released, I thought it had serious potential to achieve classic status. I still do, but it is not quite there yet for me.
Very cool album. A cool mix of psychadelia with electronic and even hip-hop influenced sounds. This must have been a MASSIVE influence on Tame Impala, and even artists like Kid Cudi. I could not follow the lyrics closely enough to tell if there was a story going on throughout.
Enjoyed this, some of the vocals weren't to my taste, but I'm glad to have listened to it.
The first time I heard The Flaming Lips was on Transmissions from the Satellite Heart. I bought it close to the time it came out because a much hipper friend already liked them and said they were great. And you couldn't hear them anywhere else, so I bought it. One of those albums that immediately grabbed me and I loved everything about it, all the way to the end. Then 'She Don't Use Jelly' hit the radio and folks talked about the Lips was like they were a Weird Al novelty group. 'Turn It On' was the single, guys! 'She Don't Use Jelly' is a fun goof on a record full of bigger, fuller songs! The fact that 'Satellite' is not considered an "essential album" on Apple Music really chaps my bum. It is absolutely the best thing they've done. Anyway, this one is still pretty listenable. It has a few very strong tracks - Fight Test and Do You Realize and the Yoshimi songs - then some very good tracks and an endearing character at the center of it. But it also feels like the point where the Lips really left Earth and also became a lot more straightforward? Which is not what I ordered. Maybe if I was a bigger fan of anime or something. Fair warning - this album doesn't actually have 100 tracks on it but that's the only version that's available to me for fuck's sake.
Love the weirdness, can feel myself floating away.
I love it. Quirky, dreamy. Feels like a modern classic.
Quirky and sweet. Glad I listened.
Some modern classics, and a very listenable-to album, but a few too many background tracks to achieve that extra star.
I love this album. It takes the kind of Phil Spector on acid sound of Soft Bulletin, but strips it down and gives it a metallic, futuristic sheen.
I’ve been meaning to listen to this album so I was happy to see it pop up today. I thought it was strong, consistent, well-produced album and I would definitely listen to it again. No complaints from me.
I liked the last album we had well enough but it didn't knock my socks off. I knew of this album first mainly because of 'Do You Realize?' from GOTG3, of course. I love that song like most of that soundtrack but I digress. The rest of this album is really solid too! It reminded me of an album that came out a few years ago called 'Deap Lip' which was a collab between Deap Valley and these dudes. I also love the sci-fi theme. There are a surprising few mainstream sci-fi themed albums that aren't played out or too experimental. As a whole I definitely see myself listening to this again - particularly in the evening. It's nice and quiet and would be a nice album to throw on at night. Will buy on vinyl someday probably. 4
4 Hey, it’s the Flaming Lips album with the songs I like on it! I wasn’t too impressed with the band’s prior release The Soft Bulletin, but it was clear almost immediately how much of a refinement this was on that space-y psychedelic sound that the group had started experimenting with on said previous album. The production is miles ahead, the atmosphere is engrossing and stimulating, songs are dynamic and catchy - this was a totally enchanting listen from front to back. The two songs I knew coming into this album were Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1 and Do You Realize??, but holy cow, right out of the gate, Fight Test may have surpassed them both as my favorite song by the group. Not only is it a crazy strong opener musically and thematically, but it’s paired with a strong set of lyrics to match, in particular the line: “Cause I'm a man, not a boy And there are things you can't avoid You have to face them When you're not prepared to face them” I know it’s not the most clever or deep thing ever written, but compounded with everything going on in the song, it really struck a chord with me. I guess Cat Stevens sued the band and won for Fight Test supposedly ripping off the melody to his song Father and Son, but I don’t really hear it. Besides, that guy kinda sucks, so I’ll give The Flaming Lips a pass even if true. I do feel there’s a slight lull in the middle with In the Morning of the Magicians and Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, but they still do an effective job of keeping up the vibe and help segue us into an enjoyable path to the finish, with the aforementioned Do You Realize?? being far and away the strongest moment of the back half. The song does such a good job of handling existentialism in the most calming of ways, and while I don’t want to fill this review with lyrics we’ve all already heard, I have to call out the below as being one of my favorites from any song ever and one I think on often: “Do you realize That everyone you know someday will die? And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know You realize that life goes fast It's hard to make the good things last You realize the sun doesn't go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning 'round” None of us are getting out of here alive, so tell the ones you care about that you love them, and enjoy every moment you’re able to with them. Anyway, good listen - both fun and a little thought-provoking at times. I’ll be looking into more of these guys’ stuff.
Wow, like it! So naive and pure, so young and idealistic
Ok, so who cares if Flight Test is a rip off of Father and Son, it's still great. Standout track for me is "In the Morning of the Magicians". Great album thematically - it almost feels like different movements of one long song.
wasnt too into it on the first track but then i got pretty into it but then it kind of drifted away again. when it's good its Good but when it's not its just kind of okay. giving it a 4 cuz i cant do half stars but id say its a solid 3.75
i enjoyed this. i really liked the instrumentals, they were synthy, catchy, reminded me of starfucker or the shins in places. my one gripe is the guy's voice kind of took the songs down for me, he made them feel less energetic than I'd like usually. still there were some great songs on this one, Fight Test, It's Summertime, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt 1. also i enjoy the cover art.
Amazing
Good 👍
Dreamy, oddly accessible, indie classic. "Do You Realize" is a top 25 track of the 2000's - crazy to think this came out over 20 years ago.
Having listened to this album in the past, the first two songs had me questioning my memory of really liking this album. After Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt1, I was back in and mostly enjoyed every song after.
I love this album. I discovered it just a few years ago but I listen to it quite often. It doesn’t work if you are just listening as an album. I like to imagine a story so the instrumental tracks work for me. I love this.
Really a pleasant surprise. I've found over the years that the Flaming Lips weren't a group I could appreciate. This album was fun, interesting concept, and a great listen! Solid 4.
People often debate if this is a concept album. I'd argue it's only a concept album for the first four tracks, and is all the better for ditching the 'Yoshimi' concept. Though things get off to a bright start with the ever-exciting 'Fight Test', the next 2 songs give this album an uneven feel. I know it's slander to criticise 'Part 1', but in my opinion it drifts a little too much despite some lovely vocal melodies. However, the segue from the dynamic 'Part 2' into 'In the Morning of the Magicians' provides the fresh start the album needs. Gone are the meandering synths (that often meander nowhere in particular) and in come bounding instrumentation that is truly thrilling. Juxtaposed against beautifully melancholic vocals, the back half of this album is fantastic. 'It's Summertime' slows things down but provides some of the most tender moments of the album and the change of pace flows well. Next up is the biggest, and arguably best, song on the album - 'Do You Realise', though undeniably brilliant, suffers from poor placement on the album. The anthemic feel of the album would have worked better before the 'Yoshimi' songs and would have provided some much needed drive to this album's slow start. Though at times uneven in pace and quality, there are some truly special moments hidden within the album tracks. The lyrics are introspective and, like much of the instrumentation, quite beautiful.
Wow een heel mooi album met toffe geluiden!
Great stuff, loved it beginning to end
Super colorful lyrically and musically. Maybe a little experimental for me in parts, but still mostly bangers.
I never really got into the Flaming Lips, but I listened to that record a lot in 2011. Fantastic, its a really fun kind of weird.
One of the best records of the early aughts holds up extremely well. It's deep and sweet and affecting, with a sense of both swing and humor, a fairly rare combination one finds. "Flight Test" and "Ego Tripping" are all-time tunes, and the title cut a full notch below, though still very strong, within a fully unified set that works excellently well together.
Really like this album. Dreamy and mysterious, synths and traditional instrumentation blended together well. Definitely highs and lows on the album but overall cohesive
I genuinely thought I would hate this album when it popped up, and boy was I wrong. It was so psychedelic and mysterious and took you on a trip you never wanted to leave. Makes me interested in listening to more of their stuff.
something about the Japanese and robots ? idk i liked it
Pretty decent.
Don’t think I’ve really listened to them before. Will give this one another go later.
This is cool and wibbley
A great album. Lots of songs with very different sounds. Lots of surprises and melodies that continue to stay with you after listening to it.
My favorite of theirs. Beautiful album with the typical Flaming Lips whimsy.
Some absolute belters, Do You Realize?? is the highlight. Some dull tracks too tho.
Its weird, but the good kind of weird? I like the opening track, but after that it is quite alternative
사이키델릭한 느낌이 기존 얼터너티브락을 디제이가 한번 믹싱한 느낌. 앨범의 변주가 너무 좋다. 우주처럼 어둡고 아름답다
Funky! Beter dan ik had verwacht 7/10
This album oozes creativity and imagination. It's playful, psyechdelic and melancholic. Also, what a lovely album cover. I must admit I've heard this album once before, about two years ago now. So it was nice to be reminded how good this is. Especially the track 'fight test', my favourite. It's summertime and do you realise are also standout tracks. I'm also surprised this came out in 2002, I always thought of it as a 90s album. I'm listening to this in moderate heat currently - this is definitely a summer album imo. What I will say is that the highs are particularly...high and the lows of this album are...noticeable. What I mean by this is that some tracks are totally skippable, but then songs like do you realise make you aware of how good the album is and make you want to keep listening. So I can forgive this album for the lack of consistency(quality) in places. Overall...good trippy fun. Take 4 stars from me, Flaming Lips.
2002 hyvä vuosi... hyvää riistaa... kylvättiin vielä raavasta ja työlästä kansaa.. nöyrää.. hyvää elektroniikkaa.. enemmän voisi olla pumputusta, mutta noh... kelpaa tämäkin. albumi kuulostaa albumilta. no... tarvi enempää lässyttää... kuuntelit varmaan ite jos tätä lueskelet... varmaan osataan itsekin miettiä vai mitä... in the morning of the magicians
Amazing and unique indie record it’s fun, poppy and electronic
Pretty good album, I still like some of their others better
So rare for an album to appear the day after listening to it through choice! Such a wonderful mood created here - wistful and futuristic and comforting and unsettling - the whole concept and sound is something really special. It doesn't always land and I can see these TFL being somewhat marmite but I'm happy here with Yoshimi.
Good listening, wrote the book on psychedelic rock
I do enjoy the Flaming Lips from time to time, but as someone who has heard a fair bit of them over the years, I feel like most of their tracks blend together. I would call them Psych-pop lite
Always a sucker for Neo-Psychedelia. But I haven’t properly sat down and gave an album by The Flaming Lips a spin yet so until now. A loose concept album (i.e. the first four songs) about evil robots quickly turns into psychedelic musings on love, life, and the baggage that comes with both. I do wish the album was fully realised as a concept album, which is what really holds it back from a 5 star. But make no mistake, this album remains a crowning achievement for The Flaming Lips. College Stoners everywhere would agree. Standout Songs: “Fight Test” “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots: Part 1” “Are You A Hypnotist??”
My lips are on fire and they say “four stars “
Lotsa fun. Iconic psychedelic pop. Nice and summery.
This is a solid electronic alternative/indie album. The flaming lips always have a unique personality and Perspective and it shows in their music. Yoshimi is a great song. Do you realize is depressing yet inspiring. Much of the rest of the album is pretty low key with solid electronic and instrumental sounds. Overall this is a good transition album into the 2000s. 8.1/10
I have mixed feelings about the Flaming Lips. They can sometimes write the most beautiful songs, but I think they get bogged down in self-consciously trying to be quirky. Of everything I've heard by them though, this album is my favorite. It's mellow and has moments of great beauty. 4 stars.
I guess it took 20 years for me to enjoy this album. Soft Bulletin hit me hard, but I never connected with this album. Last night it really sounded through for me.
What a bizarre ride from start to finish. Some songs drag, but the energy and eclectic-kitsch personality shines throughout.
4.5
Beautiful album
Chill psychedelic rock
Solid record, one of my favorite Lips albums.
Loved

I liked it more than I thought I would
Great album, wonderful vocals and instrumentation. The flawless "Do you realize" and "Yoshimi ... (part 1)" are probably my favourite individual songs, but it makes most sense as a whole piece.
A direct sequel to The Soft Bulletin, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots keeps the grandiose psychedelic pop approach of its predecessor while being more subtle and atmospheric. As a result, Yoshimi feels less immediate than The Soft Bulletin but it is extremely rewarding with repeated listens. In the end, I think it's just as strong as TSB and has every right to be considered a classic.
Psychedelic guitars go "boing boing"
Nice psych album. A classic for me
A very nice warm and soothing psychedelic journey. Some tracks like "Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell", "Are You a Hypnotist?" or "Do You Realize" will become personal favorites.
I thought it was pretty good, I liked the theme of the album and the vibe going through it. I like albums that tell a story throughout. I was on the fence between a 3 or 4 because I thought there was a lack of big hits within the album but I think the album flowed very well and was enjoyable despite that so went for a 4
Really good album. As a huge fan of Gorillaz this felt similar to it. Also the album art is fantastic.
Interesting album, felt not quite experimental but exploratory. I've always liked Do You Realize as well
Nice creative album. Got to be in the mood for wild and mellow music.
Still great.
music kinda forgettable but while youre actually listening to it its incredible
A fun story to listen to in album form. It reminds me a bit of pink Floyd in terms of the layout of the music in order to tell a comprehensive story.
Gotta be a 5
dis is so cool
I liked this album quite a bit. It had alot of interesting sounds and beats. The lyrics were interesting too. Didn’t like the part 2 of fighting pink robots.
Classic.
I'm having a hard time finding flaws in this album. I can't quite bring myself to give 5 stars but I really enjoyed it from front to back. Might be one I add to my vinyl "want" list
Je ne vapote pas
What an interesting sound! This one sounds amazing with headphones on. His voice is unique and brings something interesting to each song - but it can get tiring after a while. Standouts: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part I, Do You Realize? Other good ones: Flight Test, In the Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, Are You a Hypnotist? 4/5
This album still sounds fresh
Wonderful. Loved it when it came out, still love it now.
Chilled and enjoyed
This album shines in my mind like a prism hit by a million rays of white light, breaking into new spectra that can only be felt and not seen. So much wonder in the exploration and joy in the revelation as circuits duplicating emotions attempt to comfort you. AI gains the ability to feel. This is a whimsical journey through the mind of a machine, a mind trying to understand a new heart, to analyze its frequencies. My world flutters and pulses, just like the robot’s new beating heart, just like the bugs and butterflies of summertime. Join the confused robot as it sings its soliloquy to an empty sky. "What is love, and what is hate?" asks the solemn simulacrum.
This album is a pure affirmation of joy. They first two thirds is perfection but it does tail off towards the end.
this was unique stuff. modern psychedelic I guess?
I'd never heard of this album, but I really like it. It's definitely worth getting to know better.
Forgot about this album!
I go back to this album over and over. The incredibly lush instrumentation, the storylines of the songs, just a great album from a unique band that's just on the fringe.
So for whatever reason, we keep getting albums I know really, really well. There's some absolute classic tunes on here, such as Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, and Do You Realize??. There's no real weak points as everything blends together nicely even if not everything stands out above the general atmosphere of the album. I just think it's a half-step behind the Soft Bulletin and many of the other great albums of this year. If you ever look at a list of 2002 albums, that year is stacked and this album has never broken through into my top 5 of the year. But that ain't half bad for sure.
2nd day in a row where I get to say Love, Love, Love this album. It showcases a sense of maturity and hope in the face of despair that very few bands could pull off, let alone try to capture. Wayne may be the frontman, but Steven Drozd is definitely the key on this album with his growth in songwriting and composition. 4.5 out 5 as there are a few weak tracks, and Soft Bulletin is arguably a better album. Looking forward to my Yoshimi Deluxe box set arriving. They amount of b-sides/collaborations released during this era was amazing. One of my absolute favorites is their collab with Sparklehorse covering Daniel Johnston's "Go".
I think this might be my favorite Flaming Lips album (though Soft Bulletin and At War with the Mystics are also up there).
Such a good and weird album. Not my favorite albums by the lips but definitely has some of my favorite songs. I’ll always associate this album with my college freshman year and driving around. Nice to bring that sense back.
Love this album!
Even though I'm not a major FL fan. This is such a great (near perfect) album. Unique song writing, vocals that soothe, tells a story, etc.
4.5
Great chill electronic rock, a genre I didn't even know existed!
Actually pretty good. Where was I when this came out?
Does an Psychedelic Art Rock band from Oklahoma making a mainstream, college-radio album make it any less great? The short answer, no. This album has several iconic tracks, a solid orchestration, and a unique flow from track to track. A solid album that deserves to be in the discussion of one of the best for the band, despite it's wider audience and success.
The Flaming Lips' "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" is an electronic rock love letter to the 80s. The album starts off pretty rockin', but quickly shifts into an album full of power ballads. 4/5. Favorite Tracks: Fight Test, One More Robot.
The Flaming Lips’ Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots feels like a time capsule to a rich time in pop culture when everyone was obsessed with the future. they tackle a rich, scientific world undercut with an overarching theme of love and mortality in the face of a growing detachment in society bred by technological advancement. their titular character, Yoshimi, is a stand-in for our haunting relationship with the growing technology in our lives. the album, however, is quick to ditch the concept of Yoshimi, instead opting for more universal inquiries on the tidal nature of emotion — they cover love and hypocrisy, death and fulfillment. the music itself is a jumping pad for that dissection: robot voices, heavy synthesizers, pumping bass-lines and distortions cushion the lyrics, but underneath are sweetly romantic acoustic guitars and violin that tug at something more existential. the record is playful and light (Yoshimi ripped from the pages of a manga), but also deeply philosophical (on “Do You Realize??” the fear of death and desire for love looms large), and all those tiny little contrasts gives the album a brilliance that overwhelms, even when its concept loses its footing.
I became familiar with not so much this album, but it's namesake song, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1, in 2010 after Rock Band 3 came out, which featured this song. Before that, I hadn't heard of the Flaming Lips before. I can remember playing this song, thinking how weird, but in a good way, it was, but I never took the time to explore The Flaming Lips any further. I had since forgotten about that song until I saw this album cover this morning. It was a nice shot of nostalgia. That song is an earworm. I will be humming it now for days! This whole album is as gloriously strange as Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 is. I don't know what genre of music this belongs to, perhaps psychadelic indie rock/dream pop? The lyrics, although odd, are sung beautifully, and have a way of pulling you into this strange world they are painting a picture of through their music (almost feels like an anime film). The layers of spacey sounds overlapping the synth /acoustic guitar bits, and then the addition by times of orchestral pieces is beautiful. It all blends together into this wonderful tepestry of sound. It's weird, by all accounts, I should hate this music, with its odd psychadelic aspects and indie rock undertones, but I really enjoyed it. So much so that I listened to the album twice. Favourite songs: "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1", Fight Test, Do You Realize??, In the Morning of the Magicians Least favourite song: One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21 4/5
sci-fi folk :-)
Uniikki ja ehkä hieman outokin, mutta tietyllä tavalla pidän tästä albumista! Melko miellyttävä kuuntelukokemus, suosikkikappaleet varmaankin In The Morning of the Magicians, Do You Realize?? ja Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1. :)
Vraiment aimé l'Album, c'était une super écoute. Ca vaut bien un 4.65
The Flaming Lips' "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" is an electronic rock love letter to the 80s. The album starts off pretty rockin', but quickly shifts into an album full of power ballads. 4/5. Favorite Tracks: Fight Test, One More Robot.
probably the most languid mecha battle ever recorded
Fight test
Fun and very listenable album, was only familiar with the title track. Nice textures with the unusual instrument choices and cool synth sounds. Radiohead vibes with more pop hooks. Very creative all around, and will get more listens in the future for sure.
Very enjoyable
Big and loud and fun and accessible. I left the CD in my parents' minivan back in 2005 and my dad was not impressed.
Very jammy. Solid. Not necessarily something I’d crave to listen to daily, but good to have on if I’m trying to focus or do a task around the house.
Epic sounding record, with layers of lush arrangements that are close to being over the top, but melodic and easy to listen to. I've only heard a smattering of Lips music and I enjoy most of it. This album I would consider a modern "masterpiece and probably their best album to date.
I've never listened to the Flaming Lips before. I enjoyed this album more than I expected and would definitely listen to it again. Some of the songs were marred by too much electronic noise. Removing some of that and simplifying the songs would have given the smoothness that would have made them more listenable..
Pretty good! I was able to listen to it without any problems. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics, which is maybe a good thing since it's such an easy listen. Would I revisit? Most likely not. It did kind of drag on after a while. However, I enjoyed it!
yeah im back
Sci-fi and futuristic themes in cute colors such as pink. I don't know what kind of aesthetic is this but I think I love it now.
I remember getting the CD of this album back when it was new and listening to it very stoned and it was great. Much different years later not all stoned but still enjoyed it.
Без зацепок но красиво
I had heard some random Flaming Lips stuff in the late 90s, but never bothered to listen to a whole album. I'm not sure where this one rates in their catalog, but I really enjoyed it. It was fun and trippy, but you could also hear the 90s grunge/rock/pop sound in there. They put a unique spin on the stuff I grew up with.
amazing throughout. do you realize?? is beautiful.
Enjoyable. I didn't expect all the electronic elements. Lots of layers and depth. Best Song: Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell.
Aika hyvä! Monien kappaleiden sanat oli yllättävän samaistuttavia. Ja muutenkin ihana kuunnella. Suosikit: In the Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, It’s Summertime.
I liked this! Thought it was going to be in Japanese but it wasn't. Apparently Yoshimi was a girl he was in love with...anyway, nice upbeat tempo. Not sure what I'd categorize this type of music as...Moldy Peaches meets Mumford & Sons? It seems like music that would be on the soundtrack of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World or Juno.
I’d never really listened to The Flaming Lips but kinda knew what their vibe was all about. Pretty odd songs with a sound that is often off the wall and weird. Kinda hipster-ish. Giving it a bit of benefit of the doubt that I might like it more on another listen.
HL: “Do You Realize”, “In the Morning of the Magicians”, “Are You A Hypnotist” Who else is a sucker for 2000s psychedelic-indie-pop-rock like I am? There were times that the sweeping synths (weeeUUUooouueee) distracted me from the song itself, but despite that, I can see myself listening through this album again soon. October 26, 2022
Really enjoyed the style and sound of this album
me divirtió mucho
This is a neat album. The band had existed for 19 years when this album came out, and it shows in the production which is pretty great. However the album doesn’t seem stale for such a seasoned band. That being said, I can’t give it 5 because it’s missing something I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s a high 4, but a 4
hlusta betur seinna
Catchy.
Miseftirminnilegt en alltaf áheyrilegt og skemmtilegt, og mjög flottur hljóðheimur.
82/100: Ok, I’m back to being a believer in this 1001 albums project. I’ve had some bummer albums recently, I was in desperate need of a good album to bring my spirits back up, and boy did The Flaming Lips deliver. Let’s just start with the album’s title: “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.” That’s how you capture the attention of your audience. Granted, it’s pretty terrible for word-of-mouth advertisement. This album balances, blends, and fuses Tame Impala like synth with beautiful acoustic guitar rhythms in an indescribably beautiful way. “Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell” (by the way, quite possibly the greatest song name in recorded history) sounds straight out of a Tame Impala album, while “Do You Realize??” is straight out of a Beatles album—complete with references to the imperceptibility of the Earth’s rotation, a fan favorite for this reviewer. Then you have songs that reside at the intersection of these two sounds, like “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1,” which has the coolest combination of the two sounds all within its opening riff. Something about the acoustic sound fading out and down like a synth shutting down just satisfies an aural itch. I enjoyed this album so much I got pulled over for speeding, ironically while listening to “Are You a Hypnotist??” I guess the song pulled me into a trance deep enough for me to not realize I was going 50 in a 30. The cop sure realized though. Returning to the album after the traffic stop, I immediately was in a better mood with “It’s Summertime.” My mood was admittedly also helped by the fact that the cop let me off with just a warning. Either way, this album is a banger and will be in my rotation in the future.
really cool album. love the whole theme, aesthetic and sounds FAV tracks: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots p.1, Fight Test, Do You Realize??
Surprisingly good record. Easy listening, but not mindless.
like, skemmtileg plata
A happy album. Reminds me of Toronto. ‘Do you realise’ is definitely one of my favourite songs of all time. Solid 4
Very good album, colourful and bouncy, electronic, delicious
Fun, liked it. Maybe once a week or two it would be a good vibe.
I hadn’t listened to this album all the way through. It’s a sonic odyssey. But not my favorite album of theirs.
Psych concept with a couple stadium anthems thrown in
With a strangely hypnotic sound and odd narrative to the album as a whole this is one that works best as a whole listen rather then in parts.
Pretty groovy
It's nice i guess
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is the one full album I have listened to from The Flaming Lips, but I have heard several other tracks from this band. This album came out at the right time for me, so I have come back for a re-listen now and then. In large part because of this album, I am willing to listen to any suggested track from The Flaming Lips. "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1" is a track that I regularly listen to - probably a couple of times a year. There are portions of that track where the ear worm comes back into my head, and I need to play the whole thing to satisfy my brain. "Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell' and "Do You Realize?" are tracks that I have placed in my personal playlist. This album comes in at a solid 4 stars - perhaps only one or two tracks dipped towards 3 stars. Over time I could see myself growing to like the album as a whole more and more, pushing this album towards a full 5 stars.
Actually aged really well, I think I liked it better than when I heard it in college. It loses me a little after “Do You Realize”, but still quite good.
I think this is one of the first concept albums I fully engaged with. Stuff like aqualung always just sounded like a regular album but I felt like the story was pretty clear in general. Also very fun songs and a fun concept. Ego tripping and do you realize we’re my favs
So many brilliant things about this album
Alternative rock, 2002. A really well produced and inspired album from the beginning until the end. All the tracks are very enjoyable and "In the Morning of the Magicians" is definitely one of the best songs of the 2000s. In conclusion this is an impressive album.
Well this is meant to be well acclaimed… The album’s opener fight test starts off really odd then goes into a great acoustic based track with some great keyboard work that gives it a dreamy psychedelic edge! The ending of the song states that the test is over so I guess i’am gonna delve into wired territory… One more robot/ Sympathy 3000-21 is next and it’s really odd the kinda thing that would be on side 2 of MGMT’s oracular spectacular so yeah strange, trippy, yet somewhat grounded. The ending instrumental is cool but a bit pointless. Yoshimi battles the pink robots part 1 is great I actually kinda recognise it ( very vaguely though) and it’s amazing probably the best so far and I loved the last two! I’am guessing part two is the actual battle I mean it’s okay but feels there for the sake of it instead of adding to the album. Then in the morning of the magician’s is the aftermath of the fight ( by what i’am guessing) the lyrics are a bit vague and the song does drag it out a bit too much but it’s not bad. Ego tripping in the gates of hell is an odd choice for a single as it’s quite a slow paced dreary little thing and very repetitive too but somehow it works very psychedelic like a dream sequence of sorts. Are you a hypnotist?? Is epic the song starts off dreary but builds up for the coolest climax so far! I don’t think that it’s summertime has great lyrics but instrumentally the mood brought is great. Do you realise is a solid banger can’t really fault it much! I like the single 4/4 single piano note that goes through the verses of all we have is now slowly golden intro to obscurity by the other instruments all over it great. The album closes with the instrumental Approaching pavonis mons by balloon ( utopia planitia) it serves as a good outro kinda expanding on all we have is now for a perfect 1,2 punch. This is cool the but album falters quite a bit in the middle for like 3 tracks it’s hard but i’am gonna have to give it a 4 even if it probably deserves a 5.
I listened to this album 4 times. Years ago I felt this album was too trippy. And the flaming lips I wanted sang garage rock anthems like She Don't Use Jelly. Obviously Do You Realize is a masterpiece, and I wanted that song to exist so internally i was inconsistent and really reacting to a band growing in a direction that was different. Years later, especially with my current penchant for psychedelia, I find this album very gripping. I'm not sure I have new favorites. But I certainly enjoyed many of the songs in a way I would have described as "filler" before. That's fine, and that's how a lot of album's other songs are characterized when they have hits like Do you realize? (the official rock song of Oklahoma!), it's just hard to compare. But it's nice to acknowledge the change. And part of growing up is remembering that beliefs and opinions generated before now were done so by a different you. I can't 5 start this album. Especially while listening to the masterpiece that is Surfer Rosa. But the flaming lips are great. And this album was fantastic.
If Sci-Fi Easy Listening was a genre, this would be the classic album of it.
It’s aptly titled. You sure do get what you pay for with this one, lots of songs about fighting robots. Do You Realize?? is a beautiful timeless song. The opening track Fight Test is a killer album kickoff song, I was really into it. Overall, I dig it.
Great album with a cool mesh of styles and great vocals. The story wasn’t very well told, however, and the lyricism isn’t anything special.
This album is a highlight of the flaming lips back catalogue for me where the weirdness is perfectly balanced with catchy and accessible tunes. Whilst it sounds good on record, Flaming Lips are at their best live
I have this on a surround sound SACD hi fidelity system. Do you realise is such a joyful song, the whole album holds up well.
Prefs: Fight Test, One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 2, In The Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping At The Gates of Hell, Are You a Hypnotist??, Do You Realize??, Approaching Pavonis Mons by Balloon (Utopia Planitia) Moins pref: It's Summertime
Wayne Coyne and his band of merry revelers at their fantasy Storytelling best here. The wonderful Yoshimi battling those dastardly robots. Some lovely tunes throughout. They know how to tell stories and I love this particular tale. Good one for the list
This was a pleasant surprise. There's not much to say but I quite enjoyed this listen. I'm sure the words might come to me later, but for now - solid record. Highlights: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1, In the Morning of the Magicians.
05/23/2022 High school fave
Good, though at times sprawling bit of noughties psychedelia.
hidden gem for sure! I liked it a lot.
very decent concept album, when i heard fight test i immediately heard father and son so on that matter the plagiarism is valid.
I read once a comparative between US and British bands that matched Flaming Lips vs Radiohead, thought it was outrageous so I did not give their music a chance… I did like Yoshimi and of course “Do you realize?” But never heard this album in full until like 6 years ago, guess I had to be there uh? I like it and it does have great moments beyond DYR? but I can’t seem to really enjoy it. I do think it deserves its place on the list and well, DYR? Is one of the most beautiful songs ever created, it’s just so fucking perfect it gives me the chills every time I hear it, and, although I tend to forget, I realize the the sun does not go down and get to marvel at the fact the world spins around
I really liked this album! It’s like Radiohead’s spacier cousin. Wasn’t aware that “Do You Realize?” was a Flaming Lips jam. I enjoyed that epiphany.
I really dig it
Delightful.
Listened Before? N Another surprise from this list. I'm not sure what I expected from the Flaming Lips, but this was not it. This album is incredibly solid. The sound is unique, AND it's a rock opera/concept album with a story: one of my favorite things. I highly enjoyed this one and will be listening to it quite a bit. Added to Library? Y Songs added to Playlist: One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1
Had this on CD in the early 2000's. Liked it even more this time around. What a cool brain/approach this dude/band has/have.
Joyful album. Pompous and full of kitsch synth rock. Loved seeing them tour this, adding to the ridiculousness.
Its aged pretty damn well.
Really cool album, love it
Perfect album to accompany a tofu dinner with the newest vape
Hadn't revisited this in quite a while and really all I remembered were the three big songs ("Fight Test," "Do You Realize" and the title track) so I expected a lot of filler. While I still prefer "The Soft Bulletin," "Transmissions From The Satellite Heart" and "Clouds Taste Metallic," this ended up being a pleasant surprise.
Alternative, didn’t knew them that much got the chance to click in some songs. 👍🏻
Weird I listened to this one at Fi's Wonderfully weird.
reminds me of the spongebob soundtrack (particularly the flaming lips song)
First off, this is their 10th album?? They've been around since '83?? Wow. So this album has the only FL song I know (Do you realize). The rest of this was a nice mellow listen though! This is a studio album, but it seems they incorporated some live cheering. Wiki says this is a departure from their old sound -- I have no idea what that sound was but I really dug this a ton.
Très cool
The first time I ever heard this album was when I was getting a tattoo done. Fight Test had me hooked but as it went on I was more and more intrigued to hear the entire thing. I went out and bought it the next day. I loved it. Now that the pointless anecdote is out of the way: this album is still really good. I don't listen to it as much but it's still somewhat in my rotation. At the very least I have to hear some of the songs every once in a while. It's definitely a 4 star album. Not every song is great but there's certainly a lot here to like. It's a good time. Very tranquil most of the time.
Fond memories of playing the title track on rock band 3
Another band I knew by name only. But on a long, blustery train journey, this just hit all the right notes. A proper mood album. Lovely. Will be saving the album.
Loved it. Great unique sound and album
I forgot about this album. Classic
Not as strong as Soft Bulletin, but this band has perfect production and arrangements
Ett intressant album med några riktigt starka låtar.
Had never listened to the whole thing but it's a definite vibe-fest.
Definitely their most commercial sounding record. Wild atmosphere but still very melodic and generally pleasant. Very playful, almost like a psychedelic cartoon.
A terrific tour-de-force of bright, bubbly, colorful sound, The Lips did no wrong with this album, yet another smash after The Soft Bulletin. Favorites: Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Pts. 1 and 2), In the Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, Are You a Hypnotist??, Do You Realize?? and Approaching Pavonis Mons by Balloon.
Love that this came up as its an album I've only listened to a couple of times and without paying enough attention. Some of the random sounds, sound effects and generally wacky ideas are so fun and the subject matter is very original too.
A great album I've listened to plenty of times before. It's been a while though and I enjoyed revisiting it. The similarities are between Fight Test and Father & Son are so obvious to me now, no wonder they were caught out
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is a great collection of atmospheric psychedelia, eclectic orchestration, and surreal lyrics. I love the space theme mixed with existential songwriting. BEST TRACKS: Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1 & 2, Do You Realize?? WORST TRACKS: In the Morning of the Magicians
The only thing I knew about the Flaming Lips going into this was "She Don't Use Jelly". This album sounds nothing like that song, which was a surprise to me. Also a surprise was how much I enjoyed this one. The production is immaculate (it reminds me of The Mollusk by Ween in that respect), and the lyricism is deep and intensely relatable. I feel my opinion will only grow with further listens. Favorite Tracks: "Fight Test", "One More Robot / Sympathy 3000-21", "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1", "Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell", "Are You a Hypnotist??", "Do You Realize??" 4.5/5
This is a good one that’s belongs on the list but still isn’t my favorite. It’s good but not something I’ll add to my short list.
bright synths festive lyrics i love it
When Spotify recommended me the title track, I was hoping the rest of the album would be just as good, and it achieved that. I love the overall retro-futuristic atmospheric themes in both the robot conceit and the space rock sound. Beautifully arranged, taking advantage of its unique sound by making them the focus of several instrumental segments, or even entire tracks. What initially excited me was hearing the title track beforehand. The silly lyrics, funky electronic effects, and melodic vocals were like no other that I fell in love at first listen. That crazy Part 2 was weird yet still aesthetically pleasing. Even the less popular tracks are appealing, but that's probably because psychedelic rock is a favorite genre of mine. "In the Morning of the Magicians" sounded like early Neil Young. I also like the triumphant instrumental closer "Approaching Pavonis Balloon." On the other hand, some of the tracks... not so impressive (like I can't say anything special about "All We Have Is Now"), and it felt like the album was flip-flopping between several contiguous ideas instead of consolidating them. Favorite tracks: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, In the Morning of the Magicians, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell
3 stars sober. 5 stars high.
3.5. Nice background noise
Eclectic, great drumming, a bit trippy and better than I thought I knew. Need to listen to it a few more times.
I knew some of the songs on this album, but the overall thing is a brilliant experience. Loved every second of it, would go back for seconds!
Very interesting. Hard listen since I think the experimental made it hard to listen to casually throughout the day.
wistful sad nostalgic fantasy vibes. like if R.E.M. and Gorillaz collab'd
This era of The Flaming Lips has always been some of my favourite music. The trio of albums - 'Clouds Taste Metallic', 'The Soft Bulletin', and 'Yoshimi' - is peak psychedelic indie pop. While 'The Soft Bulletin' is the greatest of the 3, 'Yoshimi' features some unforgettable tracks, and one can't help but admire its creative spirit. For me, one of the most under-rated songs on this album is 'Are You a Hypnotist??'. The drums on this song are as close to 'melodic' as a percussive instrument can get, and there's such a hauntingly beautiful quality to the chorus. Of course, 'Fight Test', 'Yoshimi Pt.1', and the hit 'Do You Realize??' are the most accessible tracks on the album, and they're all examples of how endearingly poppy The Flaming Lips could often be.
Not bad, kind of experimental
I really like this album. The melancholy lyrics mixed with the tripped sounds awesome to get engrossed in. While I don't fully see it as a front to back masterpiece like others, I'm sure it will grow on me overtime. Favorites: Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1, In the Morning of the Magitians, Do You Realize??
29th October 2021 Listened across the whole weekend as didn't have time on Friday. Went to seb and justo's in the evening after sav was sick so couldn't see last night in soho. I love this album. It's otherworldly, it's childish innocence, it's great.
Fux
Catchy, pretty singing with groovy drums and detailed synths, as expected of the Flaming Lips. Basically? Vibin
A super relaxing and entrancing album with tremendous vocals and fun sound. I’ve listened to parts of it before but the album as a whole is a fantastic journey. I would absolutely listen again.
A nice pleasent listen with an interesting concept. Great mixture of indie rock, folk and pop here. Particularly liked part one of the title track in this one and Are You A Hypnotist?
beautiful
Thematically beautiful.
This album is a postmodernist essay. Given the goal, it's no surprise that the songs include digital glitches, falsetto choruses and restless dynamics. (7/10) Favourite Tracks: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 2, Do You Realize???
Never had a time to listen to this, glad finally did it. Great LP
I like this album a lot. Very trippy with some alt rock vibes. The singing isn't fantastic, but it fits the style in such a way as to not offend. It's also telling a story, which I didn't pick up on at first. 4 stars!
Great album, wonderful vocals and instrumentation. Do you realize and Yoshimi ... (part 1) probably my favourite individual songs, but makes most sense as a whole piece.
Brilliant album
I have owned this since it was released, but only ever listened to it about twice. It's better than I remember.
A good album
Awesome, one of my favourites
Fight Test felt very familiar and yet different. After a second listen it was pretty obvious that the song was HIGHLY influenced by Cat Stevens. The first Yoshimi track was way too "noisy" for me, but the second was pretty cool. Overall I like the record. There are a couple of tracks I would add to a playlist of 'fun' music.
Pretty unusual album. They really have a unique sound that sets them apart. Couple of songs I really liked were "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1" and "Are You a Hypnotist??". "Do You Realize??" was also pretty good. Not really the kind of music I usually like to listen to but still really good.
I've never been a Flaming Lips fan, but this album was pretty good.
Muy buen disco.
Listen, I think Wayne Coyne is a unique, super-fun and interesting brain. There's plenty of music that has no brains and sticks just fine. "The smaller the brain, the bigger the stain" I always say. But smart-people music doesn't play to the masses. I like the thought, theme and execution of this record, but there's something about it that doesn't quite stick. And tho I want to embrace this with unrelenting excitement and open arms, hold it up high and tell everyone 'this is what we need more of in music,' It would not be genuine. Maybe I'm not smart enough, haven't eaten enough acid or know anything about being an oddball from Oklahoma. But I do know there's something here to explore. You've got my attention. Let's dig into Flaming Lips and Wayne Coyne.
I dig the sound, the vibe, and the message, particularly after the ‘Yoshimi’ tracks. I especially liked Do You Realize. I’d listen to this again.
2nd listen and it is growing on me. Some good songs.
ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOO FING GOOOODDD OUIHGGIUHGIDRFGDUHG
This is my 2nd or 3rd time listening to this record. Dense and lush instrumentals all over the place, big electric symphony. I get the sense that the band was trying to write something super ambitious and I think they nailed it. Definitely got some weird stuff on it, Wayne Coyne is a huge acid guy. Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, and Do You Realize are my stand out tracks. Sober Me gives it 7.5/10, Stoned Me gives it 8.5/10
Although I recognize this album cover, I know very little about this release, or the flaming lips for that matter. After listening to it I can say I will definitely be digging deeper into the flaming lips discography. Very interesting story, and some great songs
(Wrote the wrong review on the last one) Title track is great. I like the style a lot, the mix of instruments at the front and dominant bass makes me think of Tame Impala at times
CLASSIC
Interesting sound, cool music Lyrics are not repetitive 4/5
Nice background music, electronic sounds in it with some ambience too. Bit of a listen and watch the world go by kind of album, would listen again
Has some weird stuff going. Probably why I like it.
Nostalgia in disc form
Cool concept album with really spacey melodies. 3.5 if I could
Modern Day Cat Stevens. Some Awesome tracks
A flashback to my early 20’s
Love the band and album, though some parts are a bit strange even for me
It's v good, fight test is a great opener. Yoshimi battles the robots has been stuck in my head all day and I wish I could see do you realize live
Psych-pop for the soul
Love love love this album. Only word I can think of to describe it is otherworldly.
wacky and wonderful, once again I don't have the words to describe an album beyond 'vibes'
yk i really enjoyed this idk why but had some bops
A fusion of modern electronic and instrumental music with an emphasis on drums and good male vocals.
I like this
The kind of album that makes me want to dig deeper, I love that. Right now it's a four, but that could easily edge up as I familiarize myself with it.
This album has a very unique sound. I really loved some songs but a few are a bit too strange, it's hard to describe. Worth a listen though!
shit is fucking fire, I wish it wasn't so early on so I could feel good about giving it a 5. Def a 4.5 for me so I guess ill go 4. Flight test and in the morning of the musicians really stood out to me. will def come back to this one since I liked it considerably more on the second listen as opposed to when Nathan first recommended it
Perfect length for an album, starts with a banger, no skips, ego tripping is my fav Saved: Fight Test, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, Do You Realize??
Saved Prior: None Saved Off Rip: Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 2, Are You a Hypnotist?? Cutting Edge: None Overall Notes: Very good album, flows really well and puts you in a different world. I can imagine coming back to this and liking even more songs.
Loooook it’s fiiiiiiine
Enjoyed this. Some craziness, but that’s to be expected I guess.
es un disco muy chido pero ya me da mucha hueva la banda que ni quiero hablar de ellos. pero es cool. escuchen el soft bulletin luego.
Your sister's got flaming lips after I gave her super gonorrhea. The fat slag.
Delighted to see this here.🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐🌐
Yes! Heard lots about but only one song prior. Will listen to more...
give it 4 just for the title track, rest is pretty meh
Heard of it before, not really listened to it. Very good, some really different. Would listen to it again
One more robot - sounds like currents era tame impala especially with some of the vocal melody choices. Interesting bass mixing choice, hard panned to right speaker for a bulk of the song. Yoshimi pt 1 - They like the quick pans of various instruments. Heard here early in the acoustic guitars. This is a thing with The Unicorn’s music, which is a reason I had thought to recommend them to Jake. Pt 2 - drum production on this one sounds really great, interesting that it is mostly centered in the mix. Giving space to all the wacky stuff on the outside. Ego - this one gives me currents vibes too. Those cymbal crashes are crunchy and nice. Really subtle low guitar pads wide in the mix make the song sound way bigger. Summertime - it’s interesting, I wouldn’t call him a strong vocalist, you can hear it on this track, but it works for their music. Do You Realize ?? - probably my favorite flaming lips song, also the most common opinion. I think it works best as a snapshot of their sound, particularly on this album. The vocal melodies, the hard panned instruments, a lot of repetition. Really pretty stuff. Gave me an existential crisis the first time I heard it. All we have is now // Approaching Pavonis - Doing this as one thing, because my main take away is the interest of overall album flow and the arc of the album itself. If we look at it like a movie, Yoshimi battling the robots is like the first act action sequence and Do You Realize is like the true climax. These two tracks are the falling action into a slight reprise to leave with some energy. As standalone songs their both fine, but in the scope of the album they serve their purpose well. Overall - It’s a cool album. It came out in 2002 but feels older, which I’m sure is their intent. Yoshimi pt 1 and Do You Realize?? are, to me, the stand out tracks with the rest serving more to tell the story of the album. So it’s definitely better as a “listen in one sitting” kind of thing. Some of the songs get slightly repetitive, but not in a way that hurts the experience too much. You can hear a lot of little production things that are interesting, I’m wondering if everyone else will pick up on those, I have the luxury of professional studio monitors. I looked into it, the same producer on this also worked with Tame Impala, as well as a lot of other bigger indie acts. Interesting to hear that sound here earlier and how it developed over the years.
I enjoyed this a lot - very atmospheric. Apparently it's been turned into a musical?
Just the one song "Do you realize?" earns this 4 stars for the rest of the album is also good.
Very funky and futuristic sounding, reminds me of rush 2112
really confident album. probably their best 'sound'. "Do You Realize" is as advice-y as I want them to get, and they kind of kept going in a hippy advice-y lyrical direction after this that I wasn't wild about.
Good Album
this album slaps
I vibed with this one, reminded me of Tame Impala and other rock of that flavor, but a little brighter which I enjoyed. Definitely a refreshing sound after Iggy Pop. Highlight for me was Part 1 of the battle.
I had never heard this album before and was intrigued, having no idea what I would be in for. Upon first listen, I thought of Pink Floyd, some Radiohead, some Beck. By the end of the first listen, I wanted it to start again - a great find!
Really loved this album. Super varied and fun.
Solid, light
I'm not a huge flaming lips fan but I enjoyed this
atmosphäre sehr nice
Glitchy, bubblegum Tokyo. Cotton candy clouds over sleak aluminum buildings. A badass little girl kicking robots asses. This album has the raw imaginative fun of a child with a box of crayons...or just a group of middle aged men on psychedelics. Flaming Lips in their prime.
Take Space Odyssey and add robot sounds, japanese girls, a luscious bass sound, and a blatant Cat Stevens rip-off and you have this album. (they had to split royalties with Cat STevens for opening track which sounds exactly like Father & Son)
I really liked this album a lot and it's one I will surely listen to many more times. The Flaming Lips are just so cool.
This was unexpectedly incredible
i love the concept of this album, and it has one of my fav songs
What a pleasant surprise. Will definitely revisit. One of the best new finds from this list.
Ohhhh Yoshimi, they don't believe me
I've listened to this album before and I will say I enjoy the musical aspects but personally I am not the biggest fan of the main singer's voice
Just a really classic album.
Enjoyed it. Only heard Do You Realize before. Proud of myself for working out it was Father and Son that the first track sounded like.
B
4 stars.
Love this album. What a concept.
nice
Really good album. Needed a bit of a track with change of pace in there for me but fab otherwise.
Never really listened intently to the flaming lips before. Broken Bells/Danger Mouse vibes. Pt. 1 of the Album's namesake is awesome - love a narrative in a song. the glitch rumble in the chorus gets a little overdone by the end of the song. Chorus is very catchy. Pt 2 is great too - instrumental, imagine this is the actual battle. Awesome bass sounds. I'm starting to realize the whole album flows together like a story. Cool stuff.
A beautiful album. Just so damn good.
Do you Realize is great. Love the sporadic nature of the album. Cool listen
They played at Cornell when I was an undergrad. Very interesting albums with three big songs. Would listen again.
into it.
Good ass album
Great mix. lovely sound. crunchy drums
Tasty!
A great adventure into strange rock.
Very interesting. FT: Do you realize? 7/10
Great concept album! Don't know if I'd go back to many individual songs but would definitely listen again from top to bottom
