God, I hate Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac. No soul, nothing interesting, just bland and boring. How is this the Fleetwood Mac everyone knows? Why not albatross? Kiln house? Bare trees? Those are what people should listen to.

Beside the excellent titel track, the music is boring. I can't say, if the lyrics are more exciting, because my english isn't that good.

This was bad. Lindsay Buckingham sounding like a yuppie pretending to be a hillbilly alternates with depressed Stevie and & Christine McVie tracks - which aren't bad, but don't sound like they're even in the same room as Lindsay's hoedowns. I get they were trying to distance themselves from Rumors, but this got so distant it ended up on Uranus.

really sorry to the fans, but to my ears this is the most boring album so far. could not listen to it, had to skip most of the songs I cannot imagine having more boring sound, more flaccid energy and overall being more insipid than this I understand if you grew up with this music, it probably means something. but for an outsider as me, it sounds bleh

Pretty weak for Fleetwood Mac

Audible sigh… Hard to give a constructive review. This is just not my jam. Maybe what yuppies listened to at the time?

As a band responsible for a couple of the my most hated albums of all time, I thought I'd give it a go. Daunted by it being a double album too. On the plus side according to the write up it was influenced by post punk. If you like post punk sounding like Fleetwood Mac then this is your bag. Unfortunately it isn't either. Certainly reined in some of the elements that make me want to vomit. So due to the fact it is far superior to Rumours because of the above. Edit, still sitting here after what feels like 32 hours and the tedium of this record is really starting to piss me off, so scratch my previous attempt at praise or appreciation of their collective talents blah blah blah. It's getting a low 1 just because it isn't Rumours.

Kinda nice but feels entirely like a "soundtrack to an 80s throwaway 6/10 romcom set in Ohio". Every track lacks any emotion in the instrumentation. Most tracks lack emotion in the voice, too, except 'Storms'. Just feels too capitalistic and shallow, constructed from beginning to end to be a summer "feel-good" hit. Production is sort of pathetic, too. If they were trying for radio music to play in the car, then The Doors did a better job before them. Maybe if I wasn't American I'd like it more for the novelty. Can't help but feel like if I was listening to this in the car, I'd be thinking of 101 artists I'd rather listen to than this [speaking of which, Beach Boys' Pet Sounds is this album but better in literally every way except voice variety]. It's not bad, just not human. Okay, this album goes on for an atrociously long time. I'm *still* listening to it an hour later. It was for the first few songs a 6/10, then a 5, then a 4, now it might actually be 3. The production on the song 'Tusk' is actually irritating. I'm bored and now irritated. I can think of 100 albums that deserve to be on this list more than this album. Definitely think there's some bias going on here because it's Fleetwood Mac. 'Never Forget' is the perfect ending for this album in that it perfectly encapsulates the complete void of humanity in this album. An alien or ChatGPT could mimic feel-good emotional music better than this.

Hacky, plunky, meandering ideas without much substance. Most songs are drum heavy with buried vocal tracks and not much else going for them. Feels very self indulgent - very Lindsay Buckingham self indulgent (impossible to ignore his fingerprints are all over this). Best unlauded song on this entirely too long collection is Honey Hi (I’ve always preferred McVie to Nicks). Song with the most unrealized potential is Angel which is missing a proper, memorable chorus. Best commercial single is Sara, not the eponymous Tusk. If this is truly on the list of 1,001 albums before I die, it’s “Not That Funny.” Listening to this album “Over & Over” would send me off “The Ledge” and “I Know I’m Not Wrong.”

I thought this album was a bit too long and unfocused, but the overall sound was really nice as background music. I was going to give it a 3 or 4, but Elliott accidentally hit 5 when he meant to give it a 2 so I’m balancing it out lmao.

the famous white elephant. it lives up to it's reputation. it's so underwhelming. i mean it must be hard to follow rumours, but the title track aside this is so beige.

Stevie Nicks is cool as hell, but even the few songs where she sings can't save this album from being a boring slog. It's honestly kind of impressive how many songs on this thing are completely forgettable and uninteresting, and that's a huge issue when it's 20 songs (74 minutes) long. If you told me this was a collection of Fleetwood Mac demos I would believe you because some of the songs here are about as interesting as a house brick.
