SoundgardenI went into this thinking I liked Soundgarden more than I actually do. Quite boring to be honest. 3.33 average per track,
I went into this thinking I liked Soundgarden more than I actually do. Quite boring to be honest. 3.33 average per track,
Do people actually enjoy this? 1.71
Not bad but became sort of grating after a while. 2.33
Today I am so happy because this is the last Radiohead album I ever have to listen to for the rest of my life. There are 6 albums on the generator (two of them have been removed from the book). While I clearly don't like Radiohead I can agree that they should have one or two albums on here but six feels over-represented. Whiny and pretentious. 1.27
2.3
4.667 average per track. Excluded βthis isβ and βreactβ. Fantastic album.
3.82 average per track.
Pretty cool if you want to listen to a 20 minute guitar solo. I don't. 2.71
3.33 average per track. Consistent with my overall feeling, very average.
2.36 per track average. I absolutely do not understand Van Halen, itβs just not good.
3.36 per track. Some weird tracks on this.
2.81 average per track. I actually enjoyed this more than the rating suggests. I think the language barrier prevented me from rating anything higher than 3 and there were a couple 2s in there.
Glimpses of the Stones good songs but overall not great.
I'm pretty sure there are already 40 or so albums that sound just like this on the list. Not good with the exception of Fools Gold. 1.69
It definitely makes me feel a certain way so I guess it succeeds at being art. Unfortunately it makes me feel irritated and I do not enjoy it. 1.81 average per track.
1.75 average per track.
3 average per track.
3.08 average per track. Enjoyed this more that I thought I would.
Pretty good for a punk album but thatβs not saying much. 2.375.
The hits are great, other tracks seem.... bland? 3.27
3.76 per track. If it wasnβt for mista mista and the skits this would have scored much higher. Great album.
3.32 average per track. Wish I could have excluded intro and outro because they brought the average down and the rest of the tracks are quite good.
2.16 average per track.
3.0 average which makes sense as it seemed very average.
3.33 average mainly because Panama and Jump are pretty good. The rest is bad.
3.5 per track. Actually pretty good despite the juvenile lyrics and the slur.
3.33 per track.
3.5 per track
2.83 per track. If it wasn't for the second half of this album it would have done significantly better.
This sucks so much. 1.7
bleh.
2.72
2.58 per track. Excluded intro and interludes
2.6 per track
2.85 per track
1.83 per track. Did not like at all but I can see how it influenced other music that I don't like too.
This is quite good, nothing spectacular but consistently listenable.
This started out so funky that I had high hopes but the it was jazz-y and fusion-y or whatever and I lost interest after the 886th hour. 2.5
Well there we have it. The worst fucking album on this list. I hear thereβs another Coldplay album on this list so please pray for me.
3.2 per track. Some absolutely fantastic songs and some not so great, nothing too awful.
Average 3 per track. Pretty decent but didnβt seem to groundbreaking.
Thought I would enjoy this. I did not.
Hit or miss. 3
2.36 average per track. Most of the other comments on this album reflect my opinion.
2.58 per track
2.16
Background music? 1.77.
I astounded by all the 5 stars on this album. Bass playing is good but the tone is outrageously bad. Iβve never heard LBM but Iβm certain they are so much better when Paul Simon isnβt involved. 2.18 average per track.
2.7 per track.
3.22. Other Stewart album quite a bit better but this is alright.
Was not aware of this of Joplin in general. Very good! 3.71
3.37 per track. I enjoyed much of this but just a bit too experimental at times.
3.11 per track. Stevie is very hit or miss honestly.
3 average per track. Interesting album.
3.38 per track (excluded [untitled]). This is pretty good actually.
3.69 per track. Grew up in the grunge era but didn't get into Alice in Chains, probably should have, its pretty good.
3.9 per track. Very good album!
3.6 per track. Hadn't ever heard Fairport Convention and they are pretty good!
2.9 per track. Pretty good actually but for background music. Not sure I'd ever put this on to actually listen to.
1.81 average per track.
Can hear the influence on bands like Spacehog for sure! 2.73
2.25 average per track, excluded the tales. This is not a type of music that Iβve listened to.
Good stuff!
2.2 per track. Had it not been for the a couple decent songs this would be rated even lower.
I went into this thinking I liked Soundgarden more than I actually do. Quite boring to be honest. 3.33 average per track,
Iβm quite stoned and this is really good!
2.75 per track.
2 average per track. Very hard to get through.
1.9.
2.7
yuck. 1.79
3.5. Pretty good, Brice is too operatic and dramatic for me to really get into.
2.1 per track. I absolutely hated this at the start but kind of liked it as I listened more? Only Kate bush I had heard before was Running up that hill, which is a great song despite how much it overplayed during the Stranger Things spotlight, this album is not what I was expecting.
2.75 per track. I didnβt really care for this but can hear why itβs important l.
New drinking game: take a shot every time they say βgirliesβ then die of alcohol poisoning. Appreciate the blend of rap and rock here but thereβs only one flow between 3 different dudes.
2 for every track. Why is this on the list?
This brought back memories of working retail in a department store. I couldn't turn this off fast enough. Christmas music is horrible. 1.15
Enjoyed that, don't listen to the negative reviews, give it a chance. 3.4
Fuck Britpop. 1.91
Such a great a
2.35/track. Very repetitive.
2.3
2.3 per track. Was excited to see some country on here but meh.
Pretty decent. 3.55
3.0 average per track.
I understand the impact this had on grunge but that doesn't make it that good. 2.5
2.0 per track.
2.0 per track. Yawn.
Hell yeah. 3.4
Hit or miss. Big Ten Inch... Really?!?! 3.11
Music very good. Singing not so much. 2.376 per track.
Tori must have listened to Kate. 2.3
2.4
2.36 per track.
Is it just me or does modern R&B seem insincere, like they donβt mean what they are signing about. Theyβve got the technique down but itβs missing passion and soul. 1.71
Decent 80s jams here but then the singing starts and ruins it. 1.54
Do people actually enjoy this? 1.71
3.42. Some great tracks, mostly mediocre.
3.0 average per track.
4.22 per track. Wish I could give this 5 stars.
Awful. 1.69
Listened to the best of because the full one is way to long. 2.5 per track, the comments here are overhyped.
Relistened to this and changed 2.3 to 3.0 per track.
2.7 per track. Ignored the talking tracks. This is fine, perfect for background music but I donβt think Iβd be listening with intent.
Liked this a lot more than I thought. 3.25
I was one of those insufferable guys that says they like all types of music. One thing this list (and album) did for me was show that that is absolutely not true. I do not like music like this at all and there are lots like it on this list. 2.2 per track.
2.72
3.22 per track. Good album!
2.46 per track. Fine for background music.
I didnβt know that I liked the Rolling Stones this much to be honest. Good stuff!
Finally some good stuff! Incredible album! Just don't care for canyon jam.
3.25 per track. Pleasant.
3.4 per track excluding first track.
The singles are great, the others are bad. 2.7
Quick! someone introduce these guys to Dylan. 1.92
G Funk Era Snoop: Parliament/Funkadelic influence is crystal clear. Ain't no Funk is horrible, rest is good. Pump Pump reminds me of Cypress Hill. 3.69 per track
2.45
3s across the board. Johnny Cash vibes, good stuff!
That was..... something. 1.26
Hey at least it isnβt the usual grating post-punk garbage. 2.09
3.07 per track. Pretty good pop to be honest.
4.08 per track. *clutches pearls*
3.63 per track. I like Pearl Jam more that I remember.
2.9 per track. A bit over rated and pretentious isn't it?
Good old school hip hop. 2.75
4 per track. Everything on the album is good to great except Till the Morning Comes
Weird album. 2
Fuck britpop. 1.5
2.3 per track.
3.875 per track.
Really, it's over-rated. Some great songs on here but others like The Lady in my Life, Human Nature and especially The Girl is Mine are absolutely awful. 3.0 average per track.
This is insane but I kinda like it. Way better than other Nick Cave stuff. 2.62
3.09 per track. Better than I thought
2.45 per track. Not sure why this is on the list, pretty unremarkable.
Very pleasant all around. Travelin Man and My Blue Tears are the standouts. (acoustic version of My Blue Tears is fantastic, actually). 3.7
3.33 per track. Enjoyed this. Reminded me of Corb Lund and early Cake at times.
2.93 per track. Hit or miss tracks for sure
I like the music a lot but the droning singing gets to me. If this were instrumental it would be a 4 for sure. 2.9 average per track.
Besides the popular songs, Meg.
The tracks are all decent but it's kind of the same thing over and over again.
2.86 per track.
If you listen closely you can hear what Springsteen was trying to do with this album. It didnβt really work tbh but itβs decent enough.
Not bad. Reminds me of Beck or Grandson if they had more blues. 3.17
Weird album. 2.3
Didn't like it and I didn't really understand why it was on the list but by the end I could hear the influence on bands like IDLES and the like. 2.4 per track.
2.42 per track. Maybe. its. just. me. but. every. vocal. is. just. a. list. of. things.
Hit or miss. 3
3.5 per track.
3.25 per track.
2.42 per track. Bowie has to be the most over rated.
Some stellar songs. Most are pretty mid. 3.41 per track.
Man the Cars can write a catchy song. 3.77 per track even with βIβm in touchβ¦β.
So whiny. 2.42 per track.
1.5
3.25 per track. First half really good stuff.
3.43 per track. Some great 5 star tracks.
3.33
Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. 2.66 per track.
2.54
3.12 per track. Hits and complete misses to be honest. Album as a whole seems in cohesive even if a lot of the songs are good.
2.57
3.27 per track.
DID NOT EXPECT A LOVE LETTER TO THOMAS EDISON! In the end this wasnβt as bad as I thought but not great still. 2.05 per track
1.8
3.23per track.
3.5 per track. Good stuff!
This is horrible. 1.72 per track.
1.5 per track.
Great stuff with a couple stinkers. 3.36
3.88 per track. Not the best for Neil Young but it's Neil Young so it's great.
2.5
Eww. It's like Paul McCartney but I mean that in the worst way possible. Very corny. 1.54 per track.
Enjoyed that. 3
3.77 per track.
3.08 per track. Good classic country!
2.46 per track
2.27
2.125
This has the same energy as a 4chan edgelord incel. Eminem gets a lot of "the lyrics are horrible but he's the best rapper" which is not true, there are much better rappers. 2.42 per track. 2.5 per track.
Just doing my part at keeping all the boring Brit-pop down in the ratings. (Yes I know they are Aussie). Uninspired. 2.08 per track.
I mean, I guess. 2.47 per track. Itβs like 23 short tracks that all sound the same.
Not a fan of Bowie and this seems like the Walmart brand Bowie. His fingerprints are all over this. 2.25 per track.
2.36
This is pretty good but lots of 3s and a few 4s. 3.22
Phenomenal. 4.6
Just what I wanted: another bullshit British post-punk album to ruin my day. Thanks 1001 π. 1.38 per track
Queen as a band is less than the sum of it's members. Gotta be one of the most over-rated bands. 1.69
Itβs good but that talking on the last track was too much. 2.75
Had not heard of them or this album. Really enjoyed it! 3.75
Wow, I initially hated this but something clicked part way through, need to listen a few more times. 3.08
3s across the board here. Decent listenable music.
Yuck. 2.11
2.09
3s across the board. This is quite good and I can understand why itβs on the list but Iβd never listen to it intentionally.
Enjoyed this. 3.36
Some of the music is OK but Thom, shut the fuck up. 1.54
Hell no. 1.66
2.83
How about no. 2.1 per track.
3.35 per track.
Itβs fine I guess. 2.93 per track.

2.25 per track. Good god, stop with this type of album!!
2.08
Listen, I'm unironically a Limp Bizkit fan but this isn't the album to include here. Durst is well into his Flanderization at this point. Three Dollar Bill should be here first because it is much better and second was much more groundbreaking. Even Significant Other should be here instead. Who knows, maybe they are on the list. 3.09 per track.
Fuck no. 1
Liked this. 3.06
Wow this is awful but I kind of like it. 2.2 average.
Pretty good, hadnβt heard before. 3.27
At least itβs better than the other REM album. 2.58.
Good stuff! 3.625 per track
3.58
Trash. 1.63
2.41
Best Arcade Fire album but that doesnβt mean that itβs good. Canβt wait for them to be in the βworst artistsβ section after I rate this.
Make it stop. 2.09 per track.
Best album so far! 4.7 per track.
Much better than all the rest of the post-punk dogshit on this list. 2.6
Sucks bad. 1.53
No thanks. 2.07 per track
1.92
Pretty mediocre, know what I'm sayin? 3
Fuck britpop. I could save a lot of listening time by auto rating all good britpop to 1 or 2 stars. 1.41
It's ok but overrated. 3.0
Was meaning to listen to Earleβs discography! Good stuff! 3.5
2.55. Not great but listenable
2.06. Nothing here really.
2.64, excluding intro and interlude.
Note really interested in grown men whispering to me. 2.18
ho hum. 2.67
2.44
Not as horrible as I was expecting so that's something. 2.42
This is one the most critically acclaimed albums ever? LOL. 2.0
3.27
1.64
Snively. No thanks. 1.92
Didn't mind this tbh. 2.64
Better than I thought butβ¦. 2.3
2.64
2.18
It's like an uninspired Bob Dylan and an apathetic Bruce Springsteen made an album. 2.6875
2.42
3.27
2.11. Another mediocre British band like this list doesn't have enough already.
It's fine but the words mean so much in a song that when I can't understand them then I don't really like the song. 2.48.
Seems, I don't know... too indulgent? Not for me. 2.125
You know what, Iβm in a bad mood and feel like taking it out on this album. Fuck this album, fuck all of its generic mediocrity. This is worse than the worst rated albums on this site, at least those are interesting. This is just run of the mill 90s alt without any heart. 1.7
Horribly fragile. 1.4
2.55
Pretty standard old school thrash. Much prefer newer stuff.
2.54
3.4
I donβt get it
Pretty good for jazz. 3.0
Decent. 3.
At least Thrash is well represented for the metal on this list. I can see why this would be important at the time but it's really only step up from punk and I don't care for punk. 2.66.
Itβs any movie or tv show when it's taking place in Latin America 2.67
Maybe this would be great if I was high. 1.375.
Mostly decent but the singing is weird to be honest. 2.72.
Good stuff. Didn't are for Egg-Suckin and Flushed, otherwise really good live album. The songs with June are fantastic.
It's Fine. 3.08.
Droning. Whiny. Boring. Really bad. 1.83
2.3.
1.75. Interesting hearing the early rap but the rest is just strange.
This is a good album when Missy is rapping but there is way too much generic 90s R&B. 2.4
Enjoyed this more than I thought, especially the instrumentals. 2.78
2.77.
Missed out on this album when I was a teenager. It's great. 4.28
Better than the other Massive Attack album but mid. 2.22
After a couple listens this would probably be rated higher. 3.09
Much prefer Hit Em' Up Tupac rather than R&B Tupac. 3.06
Not horrible for punk. 2.23
3.125
1.57. Pointless beeps and boops.
Surprised by this. Itβs pretty good. After another listen I bet I could bump this up a bit. 2.67
3.625
No thanks. 1.45
Itβs Ok. 1.9
2.23
Another commenter hit the nail on the head when they said this is an album for Deep Purple fans and not an album you must hear before you die. 2.14
Funky disco, I like it. 3.375
I liked this. I should relisten to Larkβs. 3.6
Great stuff. 3.77
2.3
3.36
2.68
3.09
Started off strong but fell off in the last half. 3.5
Gotta be one of the worst album openers of all time. Are the lyrics on this album for real? Allergies, 2x2=22, cars are cars? This is one of the best songwriters lol. 2.0.
Kinda overrated. 3.0
Yeah, not bad. 2.75
Pretty good and chill but does seem to go nowhere. 3.6
Yeah that was pretty good. I should have assumed it was decent because the rest of the comments were so negative. 3.16
The Band rarely disappoints. 3.9
4.53
Immigrant song is great, everything after is good but overrated. 3.5
Just incredible. Perfect mix of pros, pop, rock and nostalgia. 4.5
It's pretty good and also nice to have a rap album that isn't gangsta rap (even though I enjoy that too). I do not care for the sample heavy production. 3.4
Not a huge fan on classic rap but this was better than most. 3.125
Great first half, mediocre last half. 3.53
I didn't have as much of a negative reaction as I did for Parachutes.... Am I warming up to Coldplay? Still sucks though. 1.9
Fuck britpop and whatever this is, too. 1.3
Decent. 3.667
Naaah this ain't it. 1.4
Itβs a soundtrack to a Super Nintendo game. 1.75
Pleasantly surprised by this. 3.5
Yeah this was pretty good. Four Women is powerful. 3.18
3.6
It's ok, can definitely see it's influence on other bands. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. 2.57
Iβve tried to listen to Waits a number of times over the years. Always something about him that I donβt get. This didnβt really change that but I liked most of the songs that arenβt ballads. 3.07
I feel like I *should* like Springsteen but I don't, really. 2.375
2.7
Good lord how high do you have to be to enjoy this. 2.16
I'm not a Beck fan so I may be wrong about this but isn't this album just Beck music with all the interesting bits removed? 3.07
Itβs fine. 2.75
2.875

3.375
My Dad used to blast this record on weekend mornings. Listening again gives me that wonderful sense of nostalgia. With that said, it's not really my style. 2.57
Was excited when this was described as hardcore but it just sounds like regular snively punk. 2.0
I've never listened to Wilco before and had heard that they were alt-country at least country-adjacent in some way. Because of that I was interested in listening to this but was ultimately disappointed. In the end it's fine. 3.0
Recognized a lot of these songs from working in a retail environment 20 years ago. 2.1
3.64

4.0
Yeah its ok. 2.33
Wow this sucks. Some of the instrumentation is OK but overall just bland and annoying. 1.5
2.1
Don't get me wrong Stevie has some absolutely great songs but I just don't think albums like this deserve the praise it gets because the deep cuts just aren't very good. 2.667
This album got me pregnant and I donβt even have a uterus. 1.64
Honestly wtf even is this. 1.83
2.09
3.54
Liked this more that I thought I would. 3.17
Ugh. Queen. most overrated ever. 1.9
Bitch Please II is great but Eminem is over-rated. The features are the best part of this album. Production is good. Edge-lord shit. 3.28
The worse Rolling Stones. 2.375
3.18. Enjoyed this more than I thought.
It's an absolute travesty that this book/generator only has 7 Dylan albums. There should be more. More albums, more harmonica, more Dylan singing. 3.84

Nope, no thanks. 1.36
Kanye might be a terrible human but the musicβs good. 4.16
Mostly awful. 1.9
Actually pretty good for post-punk nonsense. 3.0
What is there to even enjoy about this? 1.5
Seriously wtf. 1.33
1.57
Foreign languages are hard to rate but I hated the music so that made it easy. 1.375
wow, i hate this. 1.2

Iβm very confused about albums like this and so many other songs this list. The music is listenable and fine but lacks any emotion or passion. Itβs background music while you do another task. I absolutely cannot see anyone sitting down and intentionally listening to this album. 1.4

Hell yeah. 4.5

Old flows for sure however this album (and Run-DMC in general) is important in the history or rock/hip-hop fusion with, obviously, Walk This Way but also the use of guitars in Raising Hell and others. 2.88
2.86
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. 2.67
Foreign music is hard. Sure, it should probably be on the list but I'm not familiar with the style, language or culture. It's just too inaccessible for someone raised on a western diet. 1.58

HINT: if the album is really long and the last half includes extended, alternate, remix or other versions then it is probably a deluxe collector's edition and you don't have to listen to all of it. The original here is only 13 tracks. 2.69

I'm sure he has a coherent approach to how he composes his music but I'm too dumb to understand and it sure sounds like noodling.

For years I thought My Bloody Valentine were a shitty emo band but only recently I found out I was completely wrong and they are much worse. 1.27

I'm glad that "Want One" was taken off the list at some point because the inclusion of two of these fucking albums is ridiculous. 1.41

I mean, it's interesting and maybe belongs on the list because of that but the originals are better. 3.28

Thankfully its better than Aha Shake, hopefully the third one is even better but not likely. 2.36

This is a great album. The only thing is it doesnβt include my current favorite song of all time which is "Lake Marie" on "Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings". Nevertheless, this has Hello in There, Sam Stone and Angel from Montgomery and so many others. 4.53

One thing I've learned from this website is that Queen is extremely overrated. Honestly, wtf are songs like "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon", "I'm In Love with My Car" and "Seaside Rendezvous"? Cool to hear some proto-metal chugging in "The Prophet's Song" but that song became to much after a few minutes. 2.33

This is album is great if you just want to listen to clips of people talking. Not bad but a little corny when it's actually music. 1.55
I once called The Foo Fighters the βNickelback of alternative rockβ and got reprimanded for it. Of course, Nickelback is the Nickelback of alternative rock but my point is that Foo Fighters is bland and uninspired radio rock slop and more deserving of the reputation Nickelback is actually much better and Foo Fighters should have gotten all that hate instead. 2.42
Fuck, I hate this. Whatβs the point? It is literally a soundtrack and has absolutely no meaning because it is missing the film. 1.2
