Nirvana
5/5
A top 25 album for me.
Top 3 tracks:
Endless, Nameless
Stay away
Breed
Ray Charles
2/5
Liked the band, really great. Ray Charles playing and voice were very mid.
James Brown
3/5
Tons of energy. R&B is not really my thing but this was great listen.
Ray Charles
2/5
Better than the genius of Ray Charles but it’s just not good. Ray Charles is overrated.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
Absolutely fantastic. Hendrix is a true master of his craft.
Beck
3/5
An interesting combination of electronic and indie style music. Not really good or bad.
Radiohead
3/5
A great Radiohead album. I enjoyed it a lot but like Kid A and Okay Computer more
Dire Straits
5/5
This is a great album. I knew of Dire Straits, but didn’t realize Mark Knopfler was an absolute master of his craft. This album embodies my opinion that great music no matter the genre is that which makes you feel something.
Ali Farka Touré
4/5
For an album in a language I do not speak, this completely blew me away, as well as introduced me to several other world artists such as Boubacar Traore(Kele), Oumou Sangare(Ah Ndiya), The Touré-Raichel Collective(Azawade), and Vieux Farka Touré (Slow Jam). A really great into to African music.
Led Zeppelin
3/5
The blues-y side of Zeppelin really comes out on this one. A great album.
Dinosaur Jr.
2/5
Shoegaze. It’s ok but done better by so many others.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
A very meh album sound like a shit version of Velvet underground.
Talking Heads
3/5
A good listen enjoyed a lot of these tunes I generally skip over.
The Killers
3/5
XTC
2/5
What a disappointment. I was familiar with some of XTC's work, but outside of the final track, this is an entirely forgettable album.
Astrud Gilberto
2/5
Really cool Hispanic inspired jazz.
Nick Drake
2/5
I’ve been told how great Nick Drake is by many people. I don’t hear it. Mediocre “poor me” tunes.
Count Basie & His Orchestra
4/5
First Jazz album from this project that I would say I actually like.
Shivkumar Sharma
2/5
Seems like the kind of music for studying or yoga. Nice relaxing soundscape.
Public Enemy
2/5
Except for a cool backing track on one of the tracks this was a pathetic album.
The Velvet Underground
4/5
One of my favorite albums. Such a unique sound.
Funkadelic
4/5
Really good loved it. Guitar playing fantastic.
Coldplay
3/5
Very Radiohead-esque. Not I might listen to more of their stuff. It's not as poppy and cliche as I thought it might be.
Patti Smith
3/5
Good quite liked it.
Suicide
2/5
Weird early electronic. Meh
David Bowie
2/5
Radiohead
4/5
This is a fantastic album. It does some really unique things sonically speaking.
Blur
3/5
Well done Brit pop.
The Young Rascals
2/5
Had a couple songs I recognized but a very sub par record.
Eminem
3/5
Darker than I thought. Really hates Kim. Only the one banger.
Neil Young
4/5
An all time great. Neil You g is a master songwriter.
Deee-Lite
2/5
90s club/techno. Not bad for what it is. Not really my bag.
The Streets
1/5
Brit hip hop. Not sure how this made the list. As they say in England : Total rubbish.
Janis Joplin
4/5
A very good album. the passion really comes through. She really belts it out.
Bruce Springsteen
1/5
How disappointing. Is this here solely as a comparison? Letting people know how dog shit a Springsteen album can sound so we appreciate the really good ones?
The Dictators
1/5
Absolute trash. I love punk and this is not good. Rides the line between hair metal riffs and the punk style untrained vocals. In not picking a lane the whole thing blows.
The Beach Boys
1/5
Who knew The Beach Boys could suck this bad? I was surprised when I saw this album pop up today because I’ve never heard of it. After listening, I know why.
Rush
4/5
I was familiar with about half of these songs, and was happy to find the ones I didn't already know were really good.
Can
2/5
Very unique. Started out very Velvet Underground meets punk. The got really Avant-garde experimental. Not really bad or good. Odd to be to the point.
Jeru The Damaja
1/5
The Prodigy
2/5
This is an album I’ve heard before. It’s a shame it only has one good track.
Buck Owens
3/5
Good classi country western
Black Sabbath
4/5
Awesome. Great Sabbath album.
Isaac Hayes
3/5
Fugees
5/5
One of the best albums ever recorded.
The Verve
2/5
2/5
Meh
Red Hot Chili Peppers
2/5
I pretty much hate RHCP. This album did nothing to change that opinion. A couple decent song but there is nothing special here. I could definitely have died without ever hearing this one.
Boards of Canada
2/5
Very average. Down tempo atmospheric electronic. Not my vibe.
Kraftwerk
2/5
Early electronic/techno. A lot of experimenting with sounds. Interesting but not really listenable.
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
3/5
Bob Marley & The Wailers
3/5
Bob is great this is a great reggae album.
Foo Fighters
3/5
Good album enjoyed it
Wilco
3/5
I know this well. Classic Wilco. If you like what Wilco does then you like this one.
Beatles
4/5
Awesome. Lots of great tracks for an album I don’t always consider when I’m in the mood for some Beatles.
Beatles
3/5
Had some decent tracks but nothing incredibly "must listen". Still it's the Beatles so the good ones are still quite good.
Tom Tom Club
1/5
This was total garbage. I didn’t need to listen to this before I died. If someone played this for me on my deathbed when it was over I would tell them I wish I had died an hour ago.
Laibach
3/5
I guess this is considered an industrial music must listen. Seemed a bit subpar. Ok just not the hype I’ve heard for so long about it.
Buena Vista Social Club
3/5
Malcolm McLaren
2/5
Interesting 80s hip hop. Different I guess.
Serge Gainsbourg
1/5
Light funk. He talk- sings the whole thing. If you heard one track that’s enough they are all the same. No need to ever listen again.
Lou Reed
3/5
Lou has a great voice. Really makes fantastic music. It’s not The Velvet Underground but really good.
Muddy Waters
3/5
Good Delta blues. It's no BB King but nothing is.
TLC
1/5
This is absolute dog shit. I yearned for deafness. No idea how anyone could listen to this whole thing at once. I had to break it up into 20 minute segments in an effort to give the whole thing a legitimate chance. All copies of this, physical and digital, should be burned in a fire. I'd rather listen to raccoons mate in the woods.
Emmylou Harris
2/5
Really great voice. However none of these songs really spoke to me.
The Temptations
3/5
Decent. "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a great song but if, like me you've ever heard the Roberta Flack version this pales in comparison to that. The rest of it is pretty good slow jams, but nothing to really write home about.
Cocteau Twins
3/5
Pretty decent album. A unique sound. Nothing here to make me want to come back to it but interesting nonetheless.
The Clash
4/5
I love the Clash. This is a great album. It’s 3rd in my ranking of Clash albums. Behind London Calling and Sandinista! . That doesn’t mean it’s bad I just like those other two more.
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Depeche Mode
3/5
This was the first DM album I heard sometime around '91. I still really like this album all these years later. A great representation of the synth-pop sound of the time.
Japan
2/5
Ugh. Poorly done. I generally like this style of music but this just isn’t it.
Sam Cooke
4/5
Liked this quite a lot. R&B is not my go to but really liked the passion on this one. He was definitely into it.
Arcade Fire
3/5
Some decent songs here. Only one really sticks out above the rest.
SZA
1/5
If dog shit didn’t just have a smell but also a sound, this would be it.
ABBA
1/5
You know all those great ABBA songs you like? This album has none of them. This is a wish.com version of ABBA. Hey ChatGPT make me an ABBA album but make it 65% less interesting so they don’t think we ripped them off.
Herbie Hancock
4/5
This was absolutely fantastic. Really awesome groove driven funky jazz.
Finley Quaye
3/5
Interesting reggae sound just ok nothing particularly special about this.
Black Sabbath
5/5
I’ve only listened to this album about 1000 times before so…yeah this is a great one. Love to hear that blues influenced sound with Ozzy’s haunting lyrics.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Elliott Smith
4/5
Sad lyrics paired with surprisingly up beat music considering the lyrical content. This is a great Elliot Smith album. Loved to find that he was on the list.
The Specials
3/5
Good enough not particularly good. Not particularly bad.
Metallica
5/5
This is a fantastic album. Metallica before they sucked.
Metallica
5/5

4/5
Good stuff, not like some of the later more refined EAB stuff, still quite good.
Frank Ocean
2/5
The Band
3/5
A lot of it kind of has a gospel choir sound mixed with a Country/Bluegrass sound. Some other songs sound more like folk music. Pretty cool.
New Order
4/5
Has a lot in there, remnants of Joy Division, Bits that sound like The Cure, bits that sound like Depeche Mode, and the classic sound of what new order is.
Stephen Stills
2/5
I can't remember the last time I was this bored by music. It's like someone challenged him to write 21 versions of the same song. This is the white rice of music. Not good not bad, just boring AF.
Public Enemy
3/5
I was there when this was released, I have a good understanding of it's cultural importance, but the music is just meh.
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
4/5
Air
3/5

David Bowie
4/5
Run-D.M.C.
3/5
Classic Hip Hop. Good fun stuff
Violent Femmes
4/5
The Chemical Brothers
2/5
Repetitive AF. I guess if you like techno/electronic it might be appealing, some of it has a nice groove.
4/5
The Divine Comedy
1/5
Grand idea but execution was not there.
Beastie Boys
5/5
Sonic Youth
4/5
What a great album, I have always loved Sonic Youth and felt they were underappreciated in their time. Really started the whole shoegaze thing. What they do sonically is really unique. They aren't all winners but the ones that hit are so good.
Drive-By Truckers
4/5
Anthrax
3/5
Some pretty good tunes here. I was expecting less from what I assumed was thrash. Some great tracks here. Pleasantly surprised.

Blondie
4/5
Great voice from Debbie Harry. really liked this one.
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
4/5
Isaac Hayes
3/5
Johnny Cash
4/5
This was so close to being fantastic. The tempo on some of these was so slowed down that it took away the enjoyment. It waws still a really good album, just not quite top tier.
Alanis Morissette
3/5
Stan Getz
2/5
Pulp
2/5
Just another non-descript brit-pop album. It's not bad, just indistinguishable from any other 90s Brit pop album from any other Brit pop group.
My Bloody Valentine
2/5
The meh-est of all mehs.
OutKast
4/5
Really great and I'm really one for hip-hop/rap most of the time. A lot of diverse sounds with all the features in here.

The Shamen
1/5
This is horrible. Please make it stop!!!!!!
Goldie
1/5
Booooo!!!!
2/5
This is average at best, would have been better to just have Skylarking on the list and call it good. This album is padding to get to 1001.
