Reviews (page 13 of 14)
9/23 A fun Punk / Ska album overall and they certainly do it well, however I enjoyed the heavier songs on here the most and those were fewer and farther between. Standout Tracks: London Calling, Hateful, The Guns of Brixton, The Card Cheat, Lover's Rock, Revolution Rock
Helt okej.
Was OK
This one feels much calmer than the Clash's other album we listened to and I like that. Still not enough for this band to become a favorite but London Calling is a classic. I could almost sense some Ska in some of these songs which made me enjoy them more. Iconic album cover, I'd be just as upset if London called me too.
Iconic
Strong start, and it kept up decent level throughout. It's interesting that this was a punk rock band around the same time as the Sex Pistols, as the sound is much more refined and melodic. Would probably listen again.
I was surprised by the diversity of influences in some track. I noticed ska and reggae, amongst others. Didn't win me over though.
It didn’t grab me from the start but I could tell the music would grow on me
3.3 not sure if always fucking 2 uur lang, of dat spotify enkel extenden versie heeft. 2 uur en 12 minuten is wel te fucking lang jesus, i got things to do. Liedjes waren soms wel herkenbaar en tof
i liked this album nothing totally stood out to me except card cheats but i did like it overall
Kinda boring
cool album. loses steam after track 10 or 11.
Pretty split on this one. Some of the songs are really good, such as the London Calling and Wrong 'Em Boyo, Lover's Rock, Train in Vain, basically all of the more post-punk songs. On the other hand there are the punk rock songs which aren't quite as bad for me as most punk, but I still hate punk, no two ways about it. Basically it's a 4 for the post-punk parts and a 1.5 for the punk parts, rounded up to a 3.
Felt repetitive and identical, but then I found myself bouncing my foot or singing the songs later
Some great songs and a couple of classics covering lots of different styles but like most double albums suffers from filler and runs out of energy at points
Nice English rock
Decent
Not bad but the songs can get so similar they melt together and I don't even realize I'm not listening to the same song anymore. London calling is a classic tho.
Enjoyed this more than i thought I would. Never heard it before and it’s way less punky than I thought it would be, which was nice. Properly long though, eh?
V good but a bit too long.
Familiar album - great tunes
6
A surprisingly catchy album.
I really don't get all the hype behind this one.
I didn't enjoy this album at all. It felt rushed, inconsistent, and did not capture my imagination. I was astounded to read that so many reviewers consider this "the best album ever" when I was trying to decide if it merits a 3 or not. Honestly, if it weren't for those other reviewers, I would probably have called it a 2.
Høy fart, grei spilling, veldig monotont, ok trommer. Sterk 3
Good. But not very memorable except for the classics. Some songs have aged better than others.
Enjoy more than expected
Only listened to a few songs, but it's a little too old-fashioned for my tastes
I don't think I ever listened to this start to finish before. To be honest a lot of it just seems like typical English rock other than being sung with an "oi, I'm a rebel" aesthetic.
Has a very similar sound to all songs throughout the album. I like the title song but other songs were mostly misses.
3.6
It was a decent album but I don't really enjoy the whole punk movement inside music so wasn't my cup of tea
Aah, you know what? Over rated. Made me want to punch someone (Liz). A couple of good tunes on there.
meh
It had 3 good and memorable songs. The rest of it is kind of blur of same sounding songs. Not really my cup of tea.
Meh
Appreciated the musical accompaniments and genre bending but past the first couple tracks nothing again matches that energy or reaches the same high. Expected a landmark punk classic but it didn’t particularly excite me.
Not horrible. Not great. Tapped my toes here and there, but found myself excited for it to be over so I could move on to the next album. I think it was a disorienting listening experience. I went in knowing very little about The Clash. I expected a very heavy punk rock sound and was met with ska, rockabilly, reggae-esque music. It was kinda weird. 2.5 stars rounded down.
nope
don't like the clash
5/10
Not a big fan of The Clash.
I struggle a bit with this one. It's long and feels a little bit sprawling and unfocused to me. I know there's some genius there - I really like the first record and I appreciate their efforts to involve some ska/reggae sounds. But for me it's just not hugely enjoyable to listen through start to finish
I listened to it this morning and can barely remember it as it was so meh.
I don’t think I like rock
a very fun album that made me really feel the joy and energy from a time I never knew but it's still not my thing
Performs the magic trick of making an hour and five minutes feel like 3 hours
se me hizo eterno y bastante aburrido
meh
I like the start of the album, than i loose interest
felt outdated by the time it came out, sounds like shouldve released in 1960s.
uhhh definitely bri ish. feels like it's supposed to grow on me but i don't really want to listen to it again...
Not aged that well in my opinion, most songs pretty lacking
Perhaps I dint understand it.
i made it halfway and i think i got the gist. i fw it! its very dad music and sometimes a sunday afternoon hits that vibe.
I expected more from 'the only band that matters'
There were a couple decent songs but it was long and boring and I don’t like his voice
Not my style. Title track is excellent though
2.5
No
I’ve never understood the appeal of this band, and this album does nothing to reform that opinion.
Somehow I’ve never really listened to The Clash. I’ve seen this album’s cover all my life and assumed this was a raucous, edgy, punk band or something. It is not. It’s just a bunch of pop songs sung by a vocalist that I imagine as having Down syndrome. Many of the arrangements are cheesy as hell, but I do like the late 70s production. This was also a very long album—I was relieved when it was over.
get me out of reggae/ska jail.... please..... i'm begging for clemency. i feel like a broken record but half the tracks here do absolutely nothing for me aside from make my eyes glaze over. i recognize the historical importance of this album given the timing of it (and the hyperbolic accent as ana explained to me, which Makes Sense with britain's classism, but he sounds like he's singing drunk), but i'm not british so it's not something i really appreciate. i feel like i got baited here because the opening title track is *really* good and i was thinking i'd enjoy this a lot, but then there's the REST OF THE ALBUM. it's torture!!!! where's my 8th amendment!!!!
I don't get the love for the Clash. Were they just the most pop punks at the time? I like some of the songs, but it's not for me overall.
Fails to reach the height of it's opener for the rest of it's runtime.
Nice things going on but the album still felt dull and meh. Not the worst but definitely not something I'd pick and listen to.
Very much of its time, difficult to listen to with vocals that have become a caricature of themselves. 1/19 liked
Good but long
It was ok.
Only knew London Calling, which I enjoyed even to this day. The rest of the album? Oof
British people
lool old
The Clash are another band for my most overrated list, especially their crappy “reggae” stuff.
London calling what a song but I really did get bored of the rest of the album pretty quick.
Punk music just ain’t for me. This is good for punk though
Brilliant first song. The rest of the album was OK but not my cup of tea.
Quite underwhelming
I'm letting the phone go to voicemail. 2/5
fun sound, london calling is a classic. A few skips overall. 2 stars.
i don’t like it :(
nicht mein Stil
This is sure alright. Do not understand why it's considered one of the best albums ever. I was disappointed by the fact that this is only barely punk. "Best punk album of all time" my ASS!
A lot of this is very rumty-tumty and worryingly close novelty-rock. Quite a few clunky lyrics throughout. The core of the band sound great, and I do enjoy Strummer's voice, but most of the songs are just so-so, with only a couple of standouts. Don't get why this record is so acclaimed.
Better than I thought it would be, more diverse. I thought it’d be all punk, guess I had them wrong
Over an hour of Brit Punk in this one, but The Clash is so good that I am down for it. Great sound from the orchestrations and vocals. Love the calypso party tune of Rudie Can't Fail (don't know what its about but I did like it). Then Spanish Bombs seems to allude to some way in Granada or somewhere so, I am scratching my head if part of this is a protest album, or just punk lyrics not meant for me. and then Clampdown screams political and social protest, so that answers that question. And then Lover's Rock was a total turn off for everything that i had liked up until this track. Ending Train in Vain was the only track I was very familiar with besides the title track. Listened before? N Saved tracks? N Favorite tracks? London Calling, Rudie Can't Fail, Clampdown, Revolution Rock, Train in Vain ⭐️⭐️ Undecided
Fun horns and percussion. I would quite like this...with better vocals.
It starts with such a banger and then I couldn't get into it. Also I find it king of long...
I'd only ever heard "London Calling" so hopes were high for the rest of the album. Perhaps this song was lightning in a bottle though.
It’s ok, respected as helping found punk genre, but not something I’d listen to more than once
So far it’s just obnoxious. The affectation of the singers voice during more swaggering songs is straight up annoying and clownish. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Also 19 tracks is too many. The horn section is one of the few bright spots. Fav tracks: -Lost in the Supermarket (I think they sound better when they’re not trying to do so much. This one reminds me of The Replacements) -Four Horsemen
I already know I’m not a clash fan. I did not enjoy this one
From the other reviews I see that I am being blasphemous, but I wasn't a fan of the shouting. Some of the lyrics were good though.
Strong start, strong finish, lots of skippers in between. No need for a double album guys. Four hits that got radio play; London Calling, Lost in the Supermarket, Clampdown, and Train in Vain. Pretty much all the rest are filler. L = (2.2*s) Too many songs with the same formula, thought it would be more punk. J = (2.5*s) Lots of I Fought The Law…
I can’t fault them for not being my taste in music. They scratch that pop punk level ever so slightly and I guess could be to blame for Green Day, Good Charlotte and Simple Plan. Shame on them. I mean, the album cover would tell you that these guys go hard, like Sex Pistols level but if you knew anything more than a little about them, you’d know that Big Audio Dynamite was their real calling. This isn’t all that bad. It’s undeniable that it’s an influential album. It just lacks that wow factor for me. Now you know and knowing is half the battle. Choice cut: Death or Glory
Sound is ok. Can try again.
Entretenido
So punk. So meh.
Meh
Não é muito minha vibe não. Muito eletrônica "arrastada" pra mim
I wasn't really fussed - Imy ears pricked up at the supermarket one, but other than that I don't really enjoy Joe Strummers voice.
The clash are a bit of a mishmash i always thought. Couple of classic songs but an awful lot of dreck and a very erratic singer. This is a good introduction but this is not a rabbithole i enjoy meandering down. In terms of political posturing the manic street preachers did it better 14 years later. These are the prototypes but with each passing year the photo fades and the sound struggles to be heard.
It was fine. Not my favorite sound.
Since this one often pops up on all sorts of Greatest Albums lists, I’ve given it a few listens over the years – as part of my music education. Unfortunately, this time around, it left me just as indifferent as on previous attempts.
Meh
Ehh... Nothing special
Some of it was catchy and interesting but it was also very long. I feel like the good songs got lost a bit in the slog.
I'm not the biggest punk rock admirer, but what I usually do appreciate about the genre is the energy. If a punk album doesn't charge you up, the deliberate simplicity and abruptness get old pretty fast. The Clash seem to walk the middle road here, mixing genres and making things more interesting compositionally, but the spark is lost for me. For most of this album, I was bored. The only point in this hour-long album where I felt like waking up was Lost In the Supermarket, but after that, things turned ska (and that's rarely a good turn for me). Nothing else quite stood out, and between repetitive songs and pretty rough vocals, I utterly failed to get into London Calling.
Never understood why everyone rates this, find it very average
The boys - lost in the supermarket was a surprise banger
A solid album, a bit long in the tooth, but I can see the appeal. I appreciate the influences on later punk and Ska, but a bit tame for my tastes.
Helt sikker godt. Men ikke for mig.
I know a lot of folks love The Clash. I'm just not one of them. Not my cuppa.
Shit was just not my vibe. London Calling was fun, there were a few other fun songs to listen too. Most of it though, was just filler to my ears by todays standards.
Only made it halfway through, idk it didn't pull me in
Post-punk is generally a genre I love, but this leaned way too much towards ska for me. This isn't, like, bad or anything, but very, very much not for me. I know this is blasphemous, but......2/5.
I get how legendary it was at the time, but apart from the title track, as a first time album listen, I was underwhelmed
They cover a lot of styles here. Punk, rock, blues, reggae! And the instrumentalists are doing a good job. Has enough sonic variance for a double album. But that voice! I couldn't handle that for a normal album, much less a double! That's a 2.
2-3
Totally over-rated, even the singles are a bit naff
He’s like morriesy if morrisey squaked CAW CAW CAW CAW
punk softened and muddied by ineffective genre blending
Sounds very much like a bar band, nothing more complex or thoughtful than a fall out boy album but British
Unremarkable. Better than their debut though. Best songs: London calling, train in vain.
Did not expect the ska but still not my fave
Starts off well, then I found it a bit boring. 2/5
I appreciate this album for the artistry, but I just don't think this style of music is for me.
downloaded 1,8,9,10&19
I can’t help but feel that you had to be there at the time of release to love this. Everything sounds the same to my ears Favourites: Spanish Bombs, lost in the supermarket.
This was fine, but no really stand out tracks for me. Brit rock/ punk. A little soft for my taste, but I do understand that this was early in the punk canon.
I bought this in high school and tried pretty hard to like it, but punk rock just ain’t my bag.
I’m clearly in the minority here, but this isn’t very good punk music. It’s boring. It’s also too long. It’s also repetitive.
Colour me surprised that this is as much Reggae as early punk. I don't like Reggae...
Honestly incredibly disappointing. Title track is punchy and has such a distinct edge that is completely dropped for the remainder of the album. Was expecting a punkier sound, ended up with pop rock? Killer song, skippable album
While I do like the instrumentals, I cannot listen to that voice for more than 20 minutes. Did not finish.
Ok
Classic British punk. Really glad we won the revolution.
why are there so many songs
2/5. Really couldn't get into it.
Besides the song London Calling, this entire album is garbage.
One of the most overhyped bands ever. Every song sounds like it’s being sung by someone with a speech impediment or a mental deficiency. There’s about 1 song’s worth of good moments throughout an hour-long album.
Eg e meir ein post-punker enn ein punker
I Don’t think its for me, its perfectly listenable but drags a bit and doesn’t stand out to me, aside from london calling.
Alright.
4.4/10
The album art and the title song are great, undeniable classics, but the rest of of the album doesn't do anything for me. None of the songs match the tone or feel that London calling conjures up. I do kind of like the last song, but by the time the album gets to it I was ready to be done. Also, book end songs that I enjoy don't really save the album.
It was ok
Dritbra første låt. Videre er det helt greit. Grell bruk av blåsere. First wave ska?
Couple of good songs, too long of an album though
Probably a lot better than I had chance to give it credit for, but also not my bag.
Great title track, got a bit bored after that.
Not a Clash guy I'm afraid, and this listen didn't do much to change that (Rudy Can't Fail is a better tho).
Honestly aside from the couple hits on this album, it didnt really do anything for me. kinda repetitive and im not a fan of the mumble singing. I did want to like it tho
Sux
Musically, I think this is supposed to be adventurous (incorporating reggae / experimental elements) but it just doesn't feel like that in 2024. Lyrically, I wasnt a fan -- anti-establishment in the most literal, obvious way, and lacking humanity imo.
Didn't really land for me. London Calling is incredible, but the rest very, very meh.
Pretty boring.
Very bleh, I dont know if its a time thing but this albums was just very boring to me.
Not a huge fan of late 70s/early 80s in general and this album didn't seem to have much to offer past that so I listened to the first five or so songs they weren't bad just not my cup of tea it mostly all sounded the same to me
Iconic ass cover. Glad I could finally get around to listening to the album that it hails from. At the expense of giving anyone reading this complete whiplash, I don't think the 80s and I will ever get along, especially when it comes to new wave. All of the music is pretty indistinguishable and bog-standard to me, and the vocals are just horrific.
fun but whatever
#374. Boring. It's like some kind of pseudo edgy surf rock or something. So this is what the Boomers called punk, huh? 2/5: yawn
Found myself skipping through a lot of this album. I miss my book so I can read why these are so important.
not my fave all kinda blended into eachother
It was ok. Mostly background noise for me.
Can’t be bothered with this one, punk sucks. 2 stars because the title track is good but didn’t bother listening to the rest.
The Clash- Darlings of the musical press late 70’s and early 80’s made you feel inadequate and deficient if you were not onboard with them. Difficult for a lad like me whose musical tastes were at odds with the likes of The Clash and a reason why they and others were a reaction to my music faves. But I did try and even bought another Clash album wondering if constant playing would help me realise what all the fuss was about. All in vain. Just don’t like them. Appreciate I’m in a minority as The Clash are historically important. Well done to all those who highly rate them but I prefer to ignore them. 2/5 4/9/24
Not gonna lie, not a huge fan of this album, or punk in general, but it doesn't do anything for me. I get where the praise comes from, just felt very repetitive. Liked the title album, not much else. 3/10.
Knew a few songs but not my typical jam, would not listen again.
Kind of boring
2.5 half classics half filler
roight wots oll this then
Was looking forward to this after having some decent punk albums suggested already. but this fell flat for me. Not at all interesting. 2 stars only because of "London Calling" being an anthem.
Again too long. Only a couple of decent tunes. A bit over rated, another one that is of it's time. I've owned it for years neve play it. Hear the track London Calling often and that's enough.
2.5. good listen but not much to go back to
London calling 1. London calling the guitars are good, felt like i was at a life performance. 2.Brand new Cadillac the music is good, but the i didn't really feel anything by the lyrics, just a little story about a one night stand 3. Jimmy jazz The intro is great, made me feel like i was walking in a quiet street. i like the jazz influence, but the singing was nothing special, i also don't like when he sings like he is having a conversation. also a little story, but couldn't find any meaning behind it. maybe a bit of police brutality. 4. Hateful it could be going over a person or over beer I don't know, don't like it 5. Rudie can't fail a bit to fast bpm i think so I'm a quarter into the album, but at this point, I don't like it, maybe it's just not for me 6. Spanish bombs so i think this song is going about war, still doesn't feel deep. not my thing again hope next one is better 7.The right profilehe sings about a man, don't know if he is is homeless, because he has a car, but it seems that it is a really weird man who is drunk all the time. i think its the best song or second to best song of the ones that i had ... 6.1/10 8.Lost in the supermarket about a guy who wants to be someone. i dont like the repeatness, something i seem to find really much on this album so im looking at the cover, but i dont really hear anything to smash your guitar for 9.Clampdown ok I'm at the start of this song, and my previous statement wasn't maybe the best thing i said today. bit farther in this song, i do infact enjoy this song, about a worker working for low payment 10. The Guns of Brixton like the beat again, but the singing is not really for me. OG drill
Oh wow, the clash.
i am recognizing that this is a good and important album, but so many of the songs ran together and sounded so so similar to me that none of them ever really stood out except for maybe the title track. I expected to enjoy this a lot more than i did
Probably great punk music, but punk music isn't for me.
Mindless punk
1. LONDON CALLING - 1.5 2. cadillac - 0 3. jazz - 1 4. hateful - 1 5. cant fail - 1.5 6. bombz - 1 7. right profile - 1.5 8. zupermarket - 1 9. clampdouun - 1.5 10. brizton - 1.5 11. boyo - 1 12. glory - 1.5 13. koka kola - 1 14. cheat - 0 15. rock - 0 16. horzemen - 1 17. not douun - 1 18. revolution rock - 1.5 19. train in vain - 1.5
This is fun and surprisingly bouncy for what I thought was going to be a straight up punk album. There are a lot of pop sensibilities in this album, several of the songs sound like they'd be in movies from the 80s, and this was released in 1979! If I listen to this more and became more familiar with it, I can see it getting bumped up to a 3 star album. Right now it's more of a 2.5 star album for me. One I like, but one I'm just not really familiar with.
I don’t like British punk.
The Clash clashed with my taste. Favourite track: Hateful.
i fucking hate the clash
Fine. Alternative early 2000s. Cave has a sort of Lou Reed + Psychedelic Furs voice.
Boring trash
Unless it created that sound or nailed that moment, I’m not seein it
Perfectly ignoreable
i feel nothing; i am bored
The OG of British Punk Rock and they lasted longer than many others. Appreciated that not all the songs sounded the same. And the best song was the last one; one of their more popular songs Train in Vain. Finally I heard one I recognized. Nice flashback to the early days of punk rock for the late 70's/80's.
Tandon Scale Rating: 2 Standouts: London Calling, Hateful, Lost in the Supermarket, Train in Vain Foot Notes: 1 there’s 10 different genres on this album 2 other than the opening song I was kind of bummed out by this Would I Listen Again: don’t think so Album Cover Rating: (1-5) 4 Album Name Rating: (1-5) 4
Angst and annoying. Yikes.
besides the hit songs I've heard before, didn't like the rest of the album
Unnecessarily long, with three models of songs repeating themselves constantly: the Punk Rock song, the Light Rock Song and the Ska Punk Song. I understand that this may have been a staple of Punk Rock, but for me was just boring to the point that I had to do a real effort to finish it.
2/5 The title track is great, so is Death or Glory and Train in Vain, but it's far too long. A 40 minute album would have been much better in my opinion. Now it just feels unfocused most of the time and there's no sense of direction.
Some bangers but too inconsequential and too long.
Not into British Punk.
sorry yall i know this is a classic punk album and i hardcore fuck with the message but a bunch of white dudes doing reggae?? not for me
I knew one or two tracks, and I like them, but I cannot listen to a whole album. It sounds too similiar.
Better than expected but not my thing
Apart from "London calling", just a big standard British rock album 2/3***
Wikipedia says The Clash was billed as "The Only Band That Matters". Bullshit.
Way more boring and grating than I remember.
Langweilig, 2 Sterne
Raskas viikko täällä
I like how they bring in different genres - not a huge fan of the more punkish or skaish tracks. I liked Mick Jones‘ vocals in „The right profile“, they where fun. Overall I have the feeling that this Album should induce some emotions in me but it just doesn’t. This one‘s cool, but too cool for me.
I did not care for this album it clashes with what I enjoy.
Okay enough. Jimmy Jazz sucks. Didn’t bother to finish it. Though The Clash’s influence on later punk music is pretty clear.
Not a single song that I liked.
I like the sound but it's very repetitive. All the songs sound like I fought the law
Eg e meir ein post-punker enn ein punker
Way to chaotic and all over the place.
Not really me
It grew on me a little bit as it went along, but I honestly just don't care for it. Maybe someday I'll look back in this review and think "Mann, I was completely wrong", but that day isn't today.
The title song is great but the rest of the album doesn't live up to its name. This is one of those albumi that needs context and from a cobtemporary punk perspective sounds too upbeat and clean, as the genre has evolved.
Engelsk 70’er punkrock, lidt andre inspirationer, udmærket, lidt langt
Was let down by this, the title track and a couple of others were good. Otherwise this is bloated and boring.
1 star for the title track; 1 star for the cover.
not a fan
Somehow, this is really bad. I didn't think the ska and reggae influences which are consistent through this record did anything but make the album naff.
1 good song
not excited
London Calling, the song that is, is an iconic punk rock song and rightfully so. Hollywood have almost ruined the song by playing it every time London appears but it's still a great song ignoring that aspect. The rest of the album however is a jolly mess. It's clearly inspired by other genres like reggae and rockabilly and so far from punk. You never know what to expect but overall the rest of the songs pale in comparison to the opening track.
To me, this is one of the most overrated albums of all time. I’ve listened to it twice and both times come away with a headache. The singer sounds like his mouth is full of marbles and he can’t carry a tune half the time. Really only 3 songs I enjoy over the course of 19(!!!) songs. Blech. 4/10
L O N D O N O N D O Not old enough to like this kind of music, but it's okay I guess. Can't wait for the day we get a hyperpop album
My dad likes the album, I thought it was pretty meh I like some clash songs but none of them are in this album unfortunately
Nope...
Never got this one. Boring, over-rated, and most definitely not punk.
Long ass album kinda lost interest after first few songs
London wasn’t calling me at least not today. I get the importance of this record but it wasn’t clicking for me. Joe Strummer’s (I think that’s the right guy, didn’t bother googling which probably tells you all you need to know) voice has a style mimicked for generations but I think I’m just more connected to the bands who ripped the Clash off. I’m looking at you Jawbreaker. I mean Joe’s dead, he don’t care.
Is theses bitches sing another vowel.. The instrumentation is fun and quirky, but then I remembered they’re very British 🙄 Mostly pissed me off, but sometimes the wackiness worked. Learn how to edit btw
All the songs are very similar, I liked one or two but overall I would not consider myself a Clash fan after listening. The voice is slightly annoying
Punk has gotten so much better. This record is okay I guess. I am sure it was jaw dropping at the time.
not for me, but appreciate its influences?
Not memorable. Mixture of ska and reggae and a little bit of something that is not punk. Not in it.
It was not a bad album
well i actually listened to it. knew the last song! not that great to me though
Really can't bring myself to care. They might be seminal, but I think it lacks fundamental melody or sophistication to me - just a lot of stomping and shouting
Didn’t enjoy. First song, I’ve heard too many times and I am completely indifferent to it. Several songs were weird ska which made me cringe. The Brixton one was okay. I left my phone in another room with the album playing and was disappointed that it hadn’t finished upon my return. I listened to the last four songs on mute.
Not really my vibe.
It didn't sound anything like I expected. I can definitely see the hints of the very beginning of punk music.
Not a fan of the clash but I’m glad I gave this a listen to reconfirm. I can appreciate the passion and the social critique but the vocals and simplistic percussion grind my gears.
some tracks are ok too long things got boring should probably listen again, probably won't
I liked some of the songs, maybe i have to listen to it again, to be completely sure
average
Hmmm.
What's the best Clash album? The Best of the Clash. A lot of "diverse" styles on here = a lot of chaff. Some absolute bangers though. Yet another 2**. https://youtu.be/tyZspqjtG2k
Ok but nothing memorable other than title track
Like tiki bar/surfer vibes of the 60s? Idk.
just way too long, i feel like a lot of these tracks could be cut
Only track I enjoyed was the eponymous one
Good album.
MOSCOW CALLING
It was ok. Not my cup of tea. Like 1-2 tracks I semi enjoyed
Couldn't get it to play
The clash is not really my jammmm
favs: the card cheat train in vain (stand by me) rating 0.5/5
Whatever this genre is, I’m not a fan of.
I didn't like it. Jimmy jazz was alright though.
Another album that is Just Too Loud for me… Faves in album order London Calling The Guns of Brixton Train in Vain

Not my cup of tea
3.26/10
Decent lyrics and themes. Musically, incredibly annoying.
Legendary, but not for me
Oof... With the exception of the two tracks that were singles with radio play, I couldn't wait for this to be over. It was painfully dull to me. And why was it so long? A bar band that I'd be trying to talk over to my friends and finishing my beer hoping we could move on to a different place. Sorry. This hit me in the "fuck that" category.
This was an annoying album for knobs
You can take all these remasters and stick them straight up your ass
Insupportable
It was ok. It's standard 70's rock. When you grew up with this sound, finding a standout is rare.
non
Boring
+1 point for the album cover accurately depicting what I wanted to do to my computer while listening to this album.
