Oh man I remember listening to Parliament as a kid in the background and just thinking who is this and why do they sound like that?! But then I got older realized they were just trying to save the funk! Lol for reals though Old Gregg aside this was an awesome album and I really think they were for lack of a better term really getting into their groove on this album! This is a very good funk album by a great band of talented musicians

Had to go grab my sunglasses to listen to this indoors. I was not expecting to like this as much as I did but the combination of funky beats along with horns from guys that played with James Brown, the pure sound on this album had me dancing around my apartment. As someone who appreciates an album listened to from top to bottom, I appreciate the “story” aspect to the album itself. While the lyrics seem like supplement to the musicians, it was the music itself that held my attention and enjoyment. it's a fucked up album -- No, I mean, "Funked up". terrible pun, i know. the fact that my winter holiday has just started makes this album more enjoyable. because everybody has this experience of being too relaxed after the school year finishes. And I was just super relaxed, bobbing my head with the strong beat, it feels somehow like a drug. what an awesome rhythm section. what an energetic vocalist George Clinton is. And that whole damn awesome guitar and horns. I haven't had any type of funk music related experience that can match this since I danced to "Uptown Funk" in the school KTV night. It makes me become the chill guy. 4/5

P-Funk: I like the funky instruments and the hook, but I think the talking is a bit weird and it goes on for way too long. 6.5/10 Mothership Connection: The talking segments are kinda weird, but I like the rest of it. Also a bit long. 8.25/10 Unfunky UFO: The production is really good, and there are less (or none) spoken word sections. Super groovy. 8.75/10 Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication: Some weirdass percussion instruments take up a good portion of the song (i am pretty damn sure that i heard a vibraslap for like half of it). Despite that, this is insanely groovy (outside of the vibraslap). 7/10 Handcuffs: I want to have a child with the production. Super funky, super groovy, super good. I guess some lyrics are kinda weird. 9.5/10 Give Up The Funk: I don't know how, but this is a big step up from Handcuffs. I guess it drags on a bit?????? 9.8/10 Night Of The Thumpasorus Peoples: What are these diarrhea noises. Also, did they put like, autotune on a trumpet 2/3s of the way through? The production is great outside of that, but this is not how this album should end. 5/10 OVERALL: Every song ends with a fade out, something I can handle but find a bit annoying. This is really damn funky, and I love it. Most of these songs are absolutely incredible, but P-Funk and Thumpasorus are pretty weak compared to everything else on this. SONG AVG: 7.8/10 PERSONAL RATING: 8.25/10

För sin tid progressiv funk, mycket klassisk funk i grunden men med vissa "utsvävningar". Trummisen är djupt "in the pocket"! Horn-sektionen är "on the money". Basen är härligt "punchig" och ligger rätt långt fram i mixen, basgångarna är riktigt härliga men ibland kanske man hade önskar lite mer variation. Överlag tycker jag ljudbilden är trevlig och väl anpassad för genren. För mig någonstans mellan en 3/5 och en 4/5 men ger en något generös 4 pga hur ikoniska de var och hur de förde funken framåt.

Nice palate cleanser after a day of punk rock, goth rock and metal. Songs go on for ages but it mostly works to transport you to a certain vibe. Really enjoyed it but won't necessarily revisit 4/4.5

Parliament – Mothership Connection This is really good. The insane keyboard work from Bernie Worrell is a particular highlight, adding an unpredictable brilliance to the tracks. The songs are catchy, expertly played, and the playful space theme only enhances the experience. I couldn’t help but imagine how incredible it must have been to witness these performed live. My only complaint is that a few tracks feel a little overlong and repetitive, but overall, this is a fine album that’s packed with personality and funk. Standout Song: Unfunky UFO Score: 4/5

I like funk and Parliament is pretty much the best at it so I like this album. Could have probably done without "Handcuffs" and they have other albums with higher funk levels, but still a great listen. Always love Spotify's recommended songs after listening to an album like this too.

Wow, I liked this much better than anticipated! Straight-up funk only usually goes so far with me, and I get nervous whenever I see a "funk" album that's been released later and later into the 70's (don't try to dress up the word "disco," we all know what it is). But this shit is *real* funk, only ever as repetitive as it needs to be with just the right amount of variation. And, of course, top notch playing. Great shit. 4/5

Make my funk the P-Funk! I want my funk uncut! George Clinton is a funk godfather. I don't know what title he has but it should be something like that. This music is just plain fun. There is definitely a civil rights/black movement element here but who doesn't want to get down when you hear this music. Iona was in the car while we were listening to "Give Up the Funk" and she said"Isn't this song famous or something?" I said yes it was but that also dad plays it frequently because he likes to get down. :) She also queried: "Why are they called Parliament? Are they from England?" lol

Funky WE WANT THE FUNK! I'd actually forgotten this was George Clinton's band.

If we're only getting one Parliament album in this collection (and it appears we are), then what a most excellent choice. (Technically we get more George Clinton with a couple of Funkadelic albums, but Parliament has its own magic, I'd say.) From start to finish, this album has a great, mostly mellow funk groove, and a fun listen especially with headphones. And the album cover is icing on the cake. It's a shame that this doesn't have my favorite Parliament song, "Chocolate city", nor my second favorite, "Get up for the down stroke", but you can't get everything, I suppose. And it was fun to hear a few new-to-me Parliament songs, although the endless farting in "Night of the Thumpasorus peoples" was a bit much.

listening to this album was a bright spot the day after the US election. it was released in 1975 when some horrible shit was going down yet Pfunk brightened everyone's day. I want the funk! Give me the funk!

The funk albums I'd had so far were starting to convince me that I didn't like funk, then this one arrived! Pure fun, from the instrumental to the lyrics to the concept. Well produced. Hard to stop myself moving to the music.

It was great. Haven’t listened to much funk before, had heard great things about this album, and it lived up to the hype. Unfortunately the last song has what sounds like a fart playing throughout most of the song? Still a very strong album though.

Hella sick. Again with these old funk and jazz and other albums it’s very cool to hear and see where other artists get samples or inspirations from.

Beam me up! The first track of this album is wasted space but the rest is Parkiament innovation and funk. George Clinton is a wacky dude but he gets art.

Best Song: Give Up The Funk. Classic, iconic, pure, funk. Worst Song: Night Of The Thumpasorus Peoples. Too little of the funk vocals and a bit too much of a reliance of that deep bass effect. Overall: What I love about P-Funk is that it always sounds like they're having fun, and that feeling is very infectious. Great, uplifting music that is suitable for so many contexts.

Good "Funkadelic", took me back a few years!

Groovy! While I generally come down on the Funkadelic side of things, the other half of George Clinton's madness is a fun ride. Some of it doesn't age particularly well (Handcuffs!) -- but it's a great mashup of genres and a super party album. Unexpected bangers: Mothership Connection, Unfunky UFO

I'm not a big fan of Funk music, but this album is so much a classic, I can't even deny it. Also, I like that it is a little more chill than some of the later Clinton-style funk. Overall, I did enjoy it, and there are just so many songs on this album used for hip-hop and referenced in a lot of music later.

I have a tendency to grow tired of too much funk - but whenever George Clinton is involved, it doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m not as much in love with the Parliament side of P-Funk, but its groove is still unmatched.

I enjoyed PFunk, Unfunky UFO was fantastic, Handcuff was a very odd and concerning song, Give Up The Funk was fun I like to imagine it goes after Unfunky UFO.

Album's influence On Dre & West Coast hip hop Immeasurable. The Chronic is nearly a song-by song rip from this album. The creativity of these cats is unreal. Solid evidence to counter parents' dictum, "Don't do drugs."

Pure funk. I'd already heard a couple tracks off this one before and had enjoyed them a lot so I was really looking forward to taking the whole thing in and it did NOT disappoint, it genuinely feels like such a defining funk album and you get lost in this really cool world for about 40 minutes. A couple tracks went on a bit long in my opinion, but it doesn't affect my enjoyment too much. Good stuff.

Funky and fun, danced the whole way through. You definitely got that funk, Parliament.

Give Up The Funk is a banger every time and it really surpasses everything else on this album. That's not to say there aren't other fun moments. The instrumentation on this set is crazy. Lots of funky sax grooves, baselines, and all the other sounds that accompany quality funk music. My chief complaint is the amount of times the album comes to a halt for speaking skits. A few skits aren't really a problem for me but it's a bit heavy handed on this one.

Such a vibrant, colourful album. Can totally hear the massive influence this album has had over recent/current music. Clinton is a beast. Would have liked to hear more narratives running through but overall a really interesting listen. 8/10

more of that 70s funk goodness. this is a big interstellar themed one, having an introduction by, like... an alien or something? it's a nice album, but it has more of the typical funk stylings from this era, carefree tracks that go pretty long, funky solos but doesn't break far from the initial foundation. also what's with funk albums having incredibly long track names? seriously like half of these have a track that's named like "superdupergroovydanceyfunkamegaultrasuperebolatuberculosis". i like the clavinet that sounds like a wet fart.

Mothership Connection was honestly a really cool and funky album with a ton of personality. Apparently, this band had a lot (if not all) of the same members of Funkadelic in it. I can see this a lot since they do sound very similar. I do like this album more though since it feels slightly more coherent with less randomness. I also do like that this album had a few little touches including that whole section at the beginning which i thought was really cool. I loved almost every song. It is the perfect album to scratch your funk itch. I don't necessarily get a funk itch often though, so I don't know how much I'll revisit. That being said, this album obviously inspired Dr. Dre to create the G-Funk sound, which resulted in some of the first songs I have ever loved including Let Me Ride which samples Mothership Connection. I am sure I'll revisit whenever I want to get funked up.

I like funk music. I often think to myself I should listen to more funk. This is great funk music, at times, pushing the envelope with some of the funk levels. I did find myself thinking by the end of this, funk isn't something you can turn on or off, it's a lifestyle. The person who makes this music isn't funky sometimes, he's funky all the times. And while I do like this music sometimes, I don't like it all the time and I can get tired of it. I have a lot of respect for people who live for the funk.

I could listen to Bootsy basslines all day, the man is just a machine of effortless mastery. Every one of these songs has such an incredible drive and rhythm. I'm not sure it makes me want to dance, but it really makes me want to smoke a gigantic blunt in a room with blinky lights. I think it's impossible to feel bad while listening to this. The lyrics are mostly self referential nonsense, so there's nothing to process other than having a good time. Even the solos just kind of blend in to the groove, you barely notice that more than a few of them go on for minutes. I was mad this morning for various reasons and this picked me right up. What a mood booster. I didn't even want to skip the vastly overplayed "Give Up The Funk".

Parliament is great. I've seen them live before and it was a groovy time. My one critique of the style is the guy explaining stuff at the beginning of songs. We get it, we know who you are, we made this selection on purpose. Don't Mike Jones me.

I overall really enjoyed the album, they put a large gamble on having music that sounds so good, you won't care how repetitive it is because it's just so damn fun and satisfying, and that gamble pays off most of the time. I really think they could have shaved off 45+ seconds off of each song and put another song on the record, and that would have really hit the sweet spot for song length. It can feel a bit cheap to criticize on this point though, because it seems like if you're in the crowd dancing to this music, the fact that it's 7 min long per song matters a lot less. I mean, shit, I was walking home from work listening to this album, and I felt like I noticed the song lengths a lot less than when I was at home listening while doing homework. I think for the right context, the song lengths ultimately don't matter too much, so I'm deciding not to ding it for that really. Some albums just have a narrower context to listen to them in, and that shouldn't always count against it. I'm going to thank God everyday "give up the funk" is the worst track on the album. I've heard that song several times before today, and I don't know what it is about it, but it just does not hit almost at all for me. There's a small sense of gratefully being proven wrong about classic funk while listening to this album for me. They really do have the funk, and God, the lyrics make me bust laughing sometimes, they must've been some drugged up horny motherfuckers. I love the inclusion of brass and synths in the music, it really helps to dig into each loop and listen for different details several times over. In the right context, I see myself reaching for this album and enjoying it, and for that, I give it a 4.

I think it's hilarious that the 70s funk bands have to use the word funk in all of their songs. It's come up twice now between Parlinent and Funkadelic, just a week ago. Funk is pretty fun and it keeps me bobbing along. I think I liked One Nation Under a Groove by Funkadelic a little more, but this was cool too. Unfunky UFO was my favorite here.

Super fun and funky album. ‘Give up the Funk’ is a classic but there was plenty of great parts in the other songs. Final song ‘Night of the Thumpasorus Peoples’ was the only track that I didn’t particularly like, only for the weird synth bass part.

This one's alright! I've needed something like this lately. I feel like I haven't gotten a ton of funk albums, so getting one is always a nice surprise. Also, I feel like I've gotten a lot of long albums as of lately, so getting one that's a nice 38 minutes is good for me. Anyways, the album's good. I like it. It's just a fun funk album. George Clinton always knows what he's doing, and what he's doing is pretty neat. This album is kind of a concept album with its themes of space. Cool! I like that. It helps make the album stand out. The sound is great, the writing fits the theme well, and the singing is solid. There isn't much to say or complain about. This is just a nice album to listen to for some fun funky goodness. Light 4/5.

Alright, this is a funky-ass album from one of the legends Parliament, complete with scratching guitars, horns, oily bass courtesy of Bootsy Collins, and a loose outer space narrative. Is it cheesy? Absolutely. But that's where the charms lie with how much charisma George Clinton and company can pull off with this collection of tunes about interstellar grooving that doesn't overstay its welcome save for the opening skits. It's a silly album with a lot of craftsmanship to back it up, I dig it.

One of the better funk albums imo, I really cant rate this bad when I enjoy a lot of the Commodores' stuff. Very solid, and Give Up The Funk is a classic tune

It's real funky like ol' Greg(mighty boosh). This makes me want to bump my booty. It has a good flow and all kinds of various instruments you'd think don't work together but managed some how. Handcuffs seemed sexy at first, but at the same time kind of misogynistic or at least controlling of someone because you can't trust them??? I'm not sure, the lyrics were started to devolve. The next song picks back up to a classic fun funk beat, so that one song was a bit of an outlier for sure. The last song has a real crazy noise, like a almost fart background noise. Like a interstellar flatulence. Good overall, it'll get you moving for sure if you want to funk out while cleaning or being active.

I'm not sure I've ever listened to an entire funk album. I liked the album cover with the afro futurism vibe from the outset. Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication sounds like gears and lasers in the background, definitely getting a space vibe on this track. Are they constructing some robots back there? 'Give up the funk' is the one I've heard before on the radio, it's ok but it seems boring compared to some of the others from the album, but it's still catchy. This is the one that gets stuck in your head after listening. My favorites are 'Night of the Thumpasorus Peoples' and 'Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication'. I keep thinking, 'how are they making this sound', at certain points(in a good way), but then there is also a nice full band with an identifyable sax and piano. I really enjoyed listening to this album a few times today, but I'm not sure how much I'll go back to it. It's unique and has a fun silly theatrical vibe and I can see why it's on the list. You can feel the joy here. 3.5/5

I always assumed that the P in P-funk stood for parliament as they are so funky they created their own damn musical genre. Did I put this on my headphones and walk down the main street in Swords where o work and feel like the blackest white man in town -yes. Did I enjoy every second - absolutely

I'm definitely more of a Parliament person than a Funkadelic person, though both are still good. Absolutely love this album. Great songs top to bottom. Can't really pick a favorite because they're all fantastic.

Parliament is a band entirely made up of aliens from the funkiest planet imaginable. They come in peace, and they come to funk your face off. It's a continuous groove that I think even the most stern person would get caught up in. Favorite tracks: "P-Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up)", "Handcuffs"

Great background listen, sampled often in hip-hop. Wouldn't call it a diverse album or sound but what it does it does well.

First track I was all like ‘less talkin’, more groovin’!’ After that they duly obliged. Lots of irresistibly squelchy, spacey beats. These guys sure put the ‘fun’ in funk; this is a rare example of the genre that I’d happily listen to again all the way through.

We want the funk is timeless, lots of protofunk and I can see how it’s influenced a lot that’s come after it. Beyond a few highs like handcuffs and give up the funk it was a tad generic but that’s to be expected of early work like this.

Hot dang, this is fly! I'd never heard of this group before, but I dig it! What surprised me the most is the random dialogue dubbed in. I've heard similar types of chatter or playful riffing in rap or hip hop albums of the late 80s and forward, but this album is from 1975! I think that's the earliest I've heard that style used. These were great beats—I think Imma' let them bring the funk back to me again, real soon! This is a 3.5 for me, but I'm happy to round up to a four.

This is one crazy funk album, and I loved it! The album cover sets the scene: one of the funkiest bands of the 1970s in a mothership, flying through space trying to find the mothership connection—wild! Short and sweet, what an awesome album!

Parliament albums are always fun. Some great jamming. Some weird lyrics. I don’t think this album is as consistent as some of their others though.

Mothership Connection I’m fairly familiar with Mothership Connection although I don’t listen to it that often.

I love the concept of this album, and the whole Parliament/Funkadelic ethos/philosophy/universe. P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up). Great opener, like the spoken word, introduces the brilliant but loopy concept. Love the Rachmaninov style piano in the outro. Mothership Connection (Star Child) carries it on with another banger. Unfunky UFO, Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication and Handcuffs aren’t perhaps as strong as those first two songs but they are still very good, Unfunky UFO in particular is white overbite dancing good. Shades of Sex & Drugs & Rock’n’Roll in the piano in Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication. And then Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker). Absolute all time classic banger. Night of the Thumpasorus Peoples is a great title and a nice farty way to round things out, even if the song isn’t as strong as the title.

There’s just the right blend of funk, disco, soul and jazz, the jazzy bits don’t intrude on the songs. The playing is superb. Bootsy Collins bass is so good, a great tone and simultaneously melodic and percussive, and is great in tandem with the drums. Brilliant horns too. Trying not to compare it to yesterday’s album as it’s just a quirk of the randomness but it’s night and day. This is fun, funny and excellent, yesterday was dull and wanky. So all in all this is a great listen, three absolute classics with the remainder very good if not quite as great as those three It’s somewhere between 4 and 5, I’ll go 4.

Als iemand je vraagt wat funk is moet je diegene dit album laten horen. Van begin tot eind ultiem genieten en lekker dansen.

Muziekinnovatie is hier te vinden. Een bijzondere blend van funk, soul, jazz, psychedelic rock en een grote dosis sci-fi referenties. Clinton is de grootvader van de (p-)funk. En dat laat ‘ie hier horen. Het zijn stuk voor stuk nummers waar het bijna onmogelijk is om je hoofd niet bij mee te bewegen. De basslinetjes zijn zo infectueus, vocalen smooth, synthjes fururistisch, percussie strak. Mijn favoriet is Give Up The Funk. Deze is zo vaak terug te horen in sampletjes (61 keer volgens WhoSampled!). Het samenspel tussen lage en hoge vocalen werkt als een trein. Bass is heerlijk. Als afsluiter Night of the Thumpasorus. Het P-Funk collectief was een tweekoppig monster, met enerzijds het hoofd dat zijn blik richtte op de rockwereld, en anderzijds een visie op de disco fever die om zich heen greep in de US. Maar beide koppen, Funkadelic én Parliament, werden gedreven door een hart die funkbloed door het lijf pompte. Waar het Funkadelic-tijdperk al bekend stond om het mobiliseren van een karrenvracht aan talent, muzikanten met een wijdverspreide affiniteit in genres en hallucinerende drugs, komt het collectief pas echt tot explosie halverwege de 70s. Meer dan 200 leden/affiliates kende de act gedurende zijn bestaan, een lidmaatschap wat je gegarandeerd een lauwe bijnaam opleverde (Stingray, Bigfoot, P-Nut, Quazedelic Poo Poo Man, noem maar op: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_P-Funk_members) Als je gecharmeerd bent van zwarte muziekhistorie, en het ontstaan van Hip Hop en andere moderne genres, dan is de P-Funk discografie echt een bodemloze schatkist aan intrigerende albums en onverwachtse wendingen. En bovenal eentje die overloopt van het speelplezier, wat ook op dit album weer van ongekend niveau is. Van het quirky buitenaardse thema en het zelfgecreëerde woordenboek waarin elke term opeens rijmt met het woord funk, tot de futuristische instrumenten en ritmes waarbij je moeilijk stil kan zitten. Het enthousiasme spat er vanaf. Het album is fantasierijk, speels, en bovenal goddamn funky. En ten grondslag aan die feeststemming ligt het escapistische thema dat de band eigen heeft gemaakt, in dit geval afrofuturisme. Het collectief weet politieke en sociale ontevredenheid altijd om te zetten in aanstekelijke en positieve energie, zonder dat de boodschap verloren gaat. Ondanks dat ik wel een liefhebber ben van het gehele concept, is Funkadelic de magneet die mij hun wereldje in heeft getrokken, en mij er ook voornamelijk inhoudt. Ik vind Parliament een hoop fun, doet het wat beter op feestjes, en ze hebben hooks for days, maar het verrassingseffect ligt veel lager dan in het werk van zijn voorloper. Deze transitie kun je een beetje vergelijken met wat er in die jaren op nationale schaal gebeurde, een mengelmoes aan soul, funk, blues, rock en R&B werd langzaam aan geëgaliseerd. De rauwe randjes verdwenen, het tempo werd afgestemd op de motoriek van de gemiddelde danser: disco maakte zijn intreden. De oriëntatie van P-Funk in meer dansbare en gangbare stijlen legde een belangrijke basis voor de housemuziek in de begin jaren 80, maar zorgde er ook voor dat de psychedelische elementen en de bluesy gitaren de deur werden gewezen. Het is wat voorspelbaarder en repetitiever, maar desalniettemin nog steeds compleet uniek vergeleken met vele andere dance-acts die zich op de uitpuilende markt bevonden. Het nieuwe elan van de P-Funk wordt subliem geïntroduceerd in het openingsnummer, die direct een lading funk (500,000 kilowatts of P-Funk power om precies te zijn) door je lichaam jaagt. Iconisch startschot, en love de horn sectie van funk legends Maceo Parker en Fred Wesley. De titelsong die volgt neemt geen gas terug, en bevat misschien wel de hookiest of hooks. 'Unfunky UFO' ziet de groep iets meer teruggrijpen naar de classic funk era, en is iets minder futuristisch. Niet de allersterkste fase van het album, maar zelfs de wat mindere songs uit het collectieve brein van P-Funk zijn heel vermakelijk. Voor de twee absolute hoogtepunten van het album moeten we op het tweede kantje kijken, waar 'Handcuffs' en 'Give Up The Funk' een heerlijk duo vormen. De eerste temporiseert de stroomversnelling genaamd "Mothership Connection" een beetje, en dat komt het album te goede. De vocalen van Glen Goins zijn m'n favoriet op het album, echt een hidden gem. 'Give Up The Funk' draait de funkkraan weer open, en er is verder weinig uitleg nodig waarom dit hun signature track is geworden. Een ode aan het genre, maar tegelijkertijd ook een sterke vormgever. En gewoon eindeloos catchy. Ik voel me dan wel wat meer aangetrokken tot het funk rock experiment dat Funkadelic heet, en ik mis de virtuositeit van Eddie Hazel, maar toch sta ik er wel achter dat dit het magnum opus van het collectief wordt genoemd. Er wordt weinig meer geflirt met andere genres, maar ondanks dat je vanaf het eerste nummer al weet wat je kunt verwachten zijn de grooves en de hooks zo besmettelijk dat je zelfs na tientallen luisterbeurten nog niet immuun bent. Het album heeft dan ook een perfecte lengte, want langer dan drie kwartier zou killing zijn voor een plaat die voornamelijk leeft op de energie van de luisteraar. 8,5/10 Highlights: Mothership Connection (Star Child) Handcuffs Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)

We got the groove! Mijn treinritje van 37 minuten precies dit hele album doorgefunkt. Parliament trekt alle toeters en bellen uit de kast. Wat een muzikaliteit. Het ene moment luister je naar soul, vervolgens naar disco en dan lijkt het weer meer op Stop Making Sense of Remain in Light van Talking Heads. En die variatie zit vaak binnen de nummers. Ok listen I did not fully replay this album today, but I've played it before and Parliament is (as far as I've ever encountered) always at least three stars for me. Funky, still fresh sounding somehow in 2024, and silly. However: four long tracks for sittin' at home is not my favorite form factor.

Very funky. I have never heard the whole album, it's very good. I will definitely listen to this again. I already have one of their other records.

The talent of this band is evident right away! I love how fun it is. It was a fun romp. Way shorter than I expected a rollicking funk album to be. The hit hit just like they always did. The playful plays on words “funked up” “mother sucker” are fantastic additions. Fun times!

It's really excellent! Not sure why George Clinton performed under at least 2 monikers. It sounded like Funkadelic, so why Parliament - or is it the other way round? Doesn't matter as it was great. Lots going on instrumentally with the fusion of funk and psychedelia, i like the idea of psyche you can dance to, and i must investigate GC's back catalogue sometime. Apparently the lyrics are out of this world too, but didn't concentrate on those too much as usual. A low 4.

I got easily funked up. That's the stuff I expect from this list. 4.5/5.

It defo has that funk, was I wanting a bit more funk, probably but it got me grooving in my chair. Slightly odd, crazy 70s aesthetic to this project but it was relatively enjoyable. Quite a few moments felt very of their time but nothing to completely hate on. A decent funky album.
