Pink Flag
WireJust a bunch of the ol' punk. Nothing special here in my opinion. The intro track had me hoping for something more. But nah
Just a bunch of the ol' punk. Nothing special here in my opinion. The intro track had me hoping for something more. But nah
Great voice, incredible range. Otherwise not that interesting
I mean it's not horrible... It's just not that interesting. There was some funny stuff in there, like as song in groups of 5 (or 10?) But also it's just very poppy... idk
1: dejlig harmoni, aflyt basgangen i blues stykket med saxofonsoloen! 2: meget smuk intro 3: Lydkvaliteten pΓ₯ det her album er virkelig god - knap sΓ₯ fed som live versionen... men den er ogsΓ₯ svΓ¦r at slΓ₯ 4: mixed time sigs, nice... happy go lucky, simplistisk men kreativt 5: classic rythm switchup, nostalgisk pΓ₯ en mΓ₯de 6: crunchy hits, interessant harmoni 7: Gjorde ikke sΓ₯ meget for mig
Not my cuppa tea... Ride my llama var ret fed til gengæld
Cracked actor is pretty cool
Rigtig mange gode sange pΓ₯ det her album, og dog et par der trΓ¦kker det en smule ned i min optik
Too 90's for me. Also I think the mix is weird
Very homebrewed sound. Notes of funk, gospel
Underwhelming somehow. Kudos for being experimental. But I still was left wanting more.
I mean, rock is not my genre. Not to say I hate it. This for me has been one of the more "complete" albums for me. Solid mixing, great performance musically. Pretty sound. I just think Rock is limited in what it can do, especially harmonically.
Did not dislike. Did not really leave an impression on me. Listening was scattered. Some aspects I liked, some i didn't
Disappointed yet again, some songs had something interesting going for them, with odd time signatures and such. Just a bit boring in the long run though...
Honestly thought I would hate this... But I was pleasantly surprised! More entertaining than I thought
A very nostalgic experience. I listened to this album in my childhood. This is some solid rock imo
Another lost album from the early years. My elder siblings must've told me about this album, since it brought forth distant memories of listening to it long ago. Quite a special experience. The harmony and production on this album reminds me of Demon Days which is an album that also holds a special place in my heart
Not my thing. A couple of songs by the end did intrigue me more than the others. Still, would not listen again
Really quite a refreshing listen. Really enjoyed Maryan
Did not really have that much of an impression on me
A little all over the place I feel. Not really sure I "got" the instrumental tracks. They sounded just a bit like random jams in the middle of it all
Has some bangers
Not my cuppa. Appreciate the self irony though
Just solid
Did not love it, did not hate it entirely either. On some level I can appreciate it. But it is not something I would listen to normally
Pretty mid
Very, very American. Not the very interesting... but did not actively dislike either.
Started out a bit boring, but picked up as it went along. African music has always done something for me
Such a unique style of playing. So "ugly" in a sense... Still, there's something about it that captivates you, even if it may be "simple" or even silly at times. Glad I finally got around to hearing some Monk
first album had a few songs that were nice. meh overall. not my thing
Did not dislike, but it gets a little repetitive over time. Not necessarily a bad thing; it was sort of entrancing at times.
Not my jam
Just a bunch of the ol' punk. Nothing special here in my opinion. The intro track had me hoping for something more. But nah
I Like it
Not the most varied, but still quality stuff
I can't give this 3, even though I would probably land on 3.5. Love the mix, the band grooves really well together - especially drums and bass
Surprisingly nice! Maybe it just fell at the right time. Really good cleaning music as well. Can't quite give it a 4, but was considering
Okay. Golden years has funky guitar. me like
Busy yesterday. Do not feel I gave this album the attention it deserved. I did like a couple of songs however
Surprisingly pleasant. Bob Dylan if he was good. I'm kidding
Apprecite the experimental aspects of this album, but otherwise not my cup of tea: 2.5 stars
Started out not weak, but I started to appreciate the songs more in the 2nd half
Nothing special. Not terrible
Okay. Was nice listening to while going for an evening walk
I really dig the instrumentals on this album, but it does get very repetitive lyrically and vocally after a while.
Odd... I like Brian Eno for his ambient stuff, which you can hear beginning to creep forth in the second half, which I definitely enjoyed more than the first. Not crazy about this one, but did not dislike it either.
I don't know if this album quite deserves a 2... But I just can't get myself to give it a 3. Actually I think some of the compositions were alright, especially rhythmically. Production-wise not so much. And the vocals and lyrics were just a miss. I had a feeling the album was trying so hard to be "profound" the entire way through which is just a turn-off for me. So there you go: 2.5 stars
Lyrically this album was ass, but the production is really good and makes it listenable.
Don't really have much to say about this one
First track was really promising, but after 2-3 songs they started to bleed together. Production is crisp, maybe even a little too crisp... I think 3 stars
Gets repetitive. Nothing to get excited about. Although surprisingly enjoyable I must admit; maybe because I listened while drunk and half asleep on my floor. Who knows. 3 stars.
Hard to say if this album just came at the right time - hard to say if it's just nostalgia from having sung "White Winter Hymnal" in gymnasium. I did like it more than I expected too. Although I'm not a fan of the genre as a whole, I do appreciate the harmony on this album - the soundscape in general. Sometimes I did want "more" from the harmony; just a tiny bit less clichΓ© and more "out there". However, I can't escape the fact that this album did move me and that must count for something. If I could I would probably give 3.5 stars, but in my opinion it is closer to 4 than 3, so that is what it'll get.
Too long. Too repetitive. Boring. No thanks
Nice blues. Really like the lead singers voice
So. Much. Compression. I feel this album has the sound of trying to sound "disturbed", "dark" etc. without really succeeding. I'm not a big fan of that. Even when songs had ideas I appreciated briefly they turned it into something I disliked. Still, I've heard worse. 2/5
I know it's a remaster but production Is really good for its time
Listened late at night yesterday. Was okay. Can't think of anything interesting to say. Maybe I think it sounded a little too 80's for me.
Hear some gospel. A lotta funk. A bit of fusion as well. Dug it.
Enjoyed this one more than Automatic For The People. Must admit I listened somewhat peripherally; I was playing Minecraft
Two R.E.M. albums in a row! Well, let's get them out of the way I suppose... Bleh. Blablublarghalumebleylalagullumbelum. I don't dislike it. I don't like it very much either. 3 stars
I guess this album came at the wrong time... Was excited for SOMETHING different that was hinted at in the first song of the album, only for it to go back into the same 80's pop-punk uninspiring clichΓ© lyrics mush you've heard a million times with different vocalists. Idk... I'm tired of listening to this stuff. Maybe it doesn't deserve 2 stars but I'm gonna give it 2 as an outlet for my frustration
Refreshing change. I liked Mick Jagger's performance on Monkey Man. Very authentic. I liked the first and last songs especially. Mostly the last I think.
Very dark. ClichΓ© dark sometimes. Although enjoyed more than expected. I just overslept and I'm late for work. Maybe it's the albums fault. IDK. Either way I don't have time to write a review.
Ahead of it's time. Sounds like an album made in the 2020's by some students straight out of an English music school. It was a little funny sometimes. Don't hate it, just not something I would listen to.
Really appreciate the originality of this album. It was quite the refreshing listen after a streak of punk... This album was a strange mix of pop, funk, classical which was pretty cool. I definitely like this album more than most I've heard so far on this list. Although unfortunately I don't quite think I can give it 4 stars.
Okay. Nothing to write home about. Sounds like someone deciding to make an album that sounds both like Led Zeppelin and Yes and failing to be as cool.
Dude, we get it! You like The Beatles. You heard Sgt Pepper's and it blew your mind. You don't need to write an album to tell us. I actually liked the first song. Then it got sort of repetitive. Then I realized they're a Beatles-ripoff. Then I realized every song on this album is a fucking love song except one which is about getting PTSD on the frontline in WW1. Still, better than another punk album.
Liked more than expected, taking genre into account. The first song had me nervous thinking I was about to listen to the album that inspired the sound for every Imagine Dragons song ever. Thankfully the rest of the album did not go down that route.
Did not give this album as much attention as I would've liked when listening. Beetlebum is nice.
A little rough around the edges sometimes. Otherwise pretty neat, I guess...
coldplay
Not too shabby
Not too shabby, liked the active bass. But wtf is up with the last track?
A corny, boring waste of time. Half the instruments sound like they're recorded in another room. Can't quite give it a 2.
I mean, they're good. It's fine. It's good music. But I just don't find that it has anything special too it. It's blues rock. Poison Whiskey is a bit funkay, which is nice. Also, it has #accidentaljazz at 1:33 Free Bird Bee Frird Beard Fur Bur Feared Beared Fur Bearded Fur Fear did Bur Bear did Fur Did bear fur? idk - most likely, I would say - you can ask him. It's okay, he's friendly :) No, don't touch him! I DIDN'T SAY YOU COULD TOUCH HIM! RUN! OH FUCK NO! AAAAAHHHHHHHH! 3 stars
Clean production. Did not understand most of what she sang. Not too bad
Some nice funk. Enjoyed it
I can appreciate that this album is trying to be different. I think Bush can use her voice in a unique and interesting way. However, the music did not really sit that well with me.
Pretty alright. A little boring, but a vibe.
I mean it's nice. But nothing really special imo
Obviously a very talented guy. Too bad i'm not a fan of that "obviously 80's" sound. Really dug the synth funkiness of "Baby I'm a Star" though.
I've always had a strange affinity for this type of music. Some of it is just straight up country and bluegrass. But sometimes it breaks the norms within the genres, which i liked. The last couple of songs didn't really hit home as much. That might be because I wasn't listening as attentively. Anyway, overall I enjoyed it.
Brian Wilson died yesterday. What a coincidence to get this Album the day after. I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of this album. However, my interest did diminish after a few tracks... this one is tough. I think Brian Wilson's composition style is so unique and recognisable though, and I really appreciate that. But I also did get tired of the endless love songs. No, it gets a 4. I don't think I've ever heard something quite like this, and I appreciate that
Boring with somewhat interesting moments sometimes
Man this actually kinda slaps ngl. Pleasantly surprised. It goes kinda corny in a very american way sometimes, kinda like Linkin Park; in a strange eayi kinda like it. They're obviously very talented. Despite the corny parts, I actually think some parts go kinda hard. Well, I'm only 6 songs in, let's keep listening. Okay it does get tiring after a while... A bit too tiring.
Not my jam. But a fun concept nonetheless. Tom Waits + jazz band ain't too bad
What a strange album... Definitely a good listen, with some interesting songs in the mix
Nice experience, did not hit quite as hard as shleep
Great voice, incredible range. Otherwise not that interesting
It's not unpleasant, and the drummer had some chops... Otherwise, boring, sloppy, uninteresting. Why is this on the list?
Hey! I've always wanted to hear this one! As a Beatles fan I've always been curious about the members' solo work. Only song I know is "Imagine". Let's see... Post listen: Right... Definitely enjoyed the second half more. Seemed like he was going for a more "poppy" sound in the first half. Second half had some funky (literally) stuff going on for it. That was cool, I guess. However, I have to agree with the sentiment that the songwriting is just NOT on par with what the Beatles created together. There must've been something in that collection of people... IDK, maybe it's just the nostalgia talking. Anyway, I'm even more excited to get to listen and review some Beatles records again after this; to see whether or not I'm right about them being better...
I think my 16-17 year old self would've really fucked with the song "Heroes". I still think it's quite alright now... because Brian Eno co-wrote it HAHAHA Second half of this is basically and Eno ambient album?
I fucking knew Louis Cole co-wrote "Bus In These Streets". I could hear that shit. Some of the songs were a bit whatever during the first half. But they really started to hit a spot as it went along. Especially from "Friend Zone" and on. "Them Changes" is a classic of course. And them changes really be hitting hard throughout the entire album... sorry
Remarkable... Remarkably boring. This album did basically nothing for me. Maybe 2 is a bit harsh. IDK It just didn't do anything for me
Horniest album so far on this list. It feels like admitting to a guilty pleasure... But I enjoyed it surprisingly much. Great songwriting, with just enough diversity to keep it different and interesting. Groovy. Nice chords. And then again, also incredibly corny and too "90's" sometimes... Whatever, I enjoyed it more than I expected
Surprisingly enjoyable. I thought the Moog and the sitar covers would get corny but I enjoyed it the entire album throughout actually. Well, I grew up with similar sounds. Maybe that helps.
Pretty cool. Some nice harmonies. Did not blow me away, however. But a nice listening experience. Nice to have some "actual" jazz for a change.
Fun. Witty. Entertaining. Does get repetitive after a while. But good stuff otherwise
I did not expect this album to be as pleasing as it was. Very nice. Liked the harmonies. I thought the drums hit really hard for some reason.
Never really "got" blues like this... I mean, one song once in a while is fine. But an entire album of more or less the same shit is just not for me. But it does have its charm, I can't deny it that...
Guess I don't really like David Bowie that much. I somewhat appreciate the sound he's going for, with the more "American style" choir stuff he's going for, and the funkiness. - I just don't think it's that well executed. Also, I did not appreciate the cover of "Across the Universe" but maybe that's just me being stuck-up and close-minded. Waiting for Bowie to "click" for me...
This album sounds a bit like they didn't actually want to record it... It sounds a bit like they got a bunch of surly pub-goers and convinces them to go in the studio and try to produce something that could vaguely ride the Beatles wave. All in all... It's alright I guess
IT'S THAT SONG! IT'S THAT SONG FORM THE BIG LEBOWSKI! Did actually enjoy this more than I expected. I felt it didn't take itself that seriously in that good sort of way. Pleasantly surprised
First 3 songs I really liked. Rest of the album did not quite hit as hard. But I think the songwriting on this in general was just really good.
Didn't do that much for me
Don't really have much to say about this. Liked some of it. Some of it I liked less.
I have to admit I had a hard time listening attentively to this album. I imagine that if I did I would probably have enjoyed it a bit more.
Listened while cleaning. Not much to say about this one
Some of these tracks sound like the shit I made on my laoptop when I was 13 lol. But I actually enjoyed this album in a strange sort of way. It certainly was an interesting listen! Of course a lot of it I found to be corny in that way when Americans try to be edgy and go all anti-christ and sing about explicit stuff like all things sexual and whatnot. Also the "noise" parts I found a bit too much sometimes. But otherwise there were a lot of parts on the album I found myself enjoying more than I expected.
Just a little bit boring and cheesy. Very "clean" and all that; they're not bad musicians. It was just not very interesting
There are some great songs on this album, Pyramid Song is one of Radiohead's best IMO. But a lot of it is also just a bit "whatever" or even downright feels like a joke... I'm looking at you, "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors"...
Liked this better than eliminator ir whatever it's called. This was not half bad, actually
I mean it's not horrible... It's just not that interesting. There was some funny stuff in there, like as song in groups of 5 (or 10?) But also it's just very poppy... idk
Well... I certainly like this better than Taylor Swift...
I'm sorry once again, I should've listened more attentively... All I can say is it didn't blow me away. Maybe it would've, had I listened a bit more focused
Surprisingly good! High quality on almost every front: instrumentals, vocals, mixing and arrangement. Songwriting was also agreeable, with some interesting stuff going on. However, the style is not completely up my alley. I liked it, just didn't love it, which is why I can't quite give it a 4. But i considered it!
Enjoyed more than expected. Very simple, and did not enjoy the singing style particularly. But the orchestral parts were nice, I suppose. Songs very simple on the surface, but still I found it just different enough to be somewhat enjoyable. Also, "Free At Last" made me strangely emotional...
Sure, could be worse. Better than evermore by Taylor Swift
Bob Dylan writes some entertaining lyrics. The kind that captivates at least my attention. Instrumentally there's not much to say
Enjoyed it more than expected! Not that bad for punk and a little bit funny sometimes
Enjoyed more than expected; mostly some of the harmonic stuff. Sometimes pretty boring.
What an album! Brought me a lot of joy listening to it. I wish I could give it a five, because most of the songs are simply amazing. But three of them just don't quite cut it for me. I'm sorry Stevie. But the man is a genius! He recorded like, what, 80-90% of all the music himself. Definitely a must-listen in my book. Very happy I discovered this and had the experience of listening to it.
Maybe 2 is a bit harsh, but I just didn't really enjoy it that much. I don't know exactly why, but this genre tends to annoy me a little bit
Hmm, not amazing. But iron man does kinda slap
Pretty goof
no thanks
Well put together. They have such a recognizable sound. Bohemian rhapsody is just overplayed in my life, but it's a really good song
Did not have a big impression on me. I know it's sacrilegious but I do see why people still make art even after the release of this album.
Why has the guy furthest to the left on the album cover got such a big head?
When it's not just noise, the songwriting was actually okay
Fukked widdit
First song had me intrigued, the rest was pretty mid
Jon
Just a little too repetitive and boring
Man idk, some of it is pretty nice, but a lot is a little boring and drawn out. Certainly still more interesting than a lot you hear here... Also I appreciate the cultural exposure
Good, but not quite a 4
Waaaaaaaah Wah wah waaaaaaaah Wah waaaaaaah
Not that bad, some songs were ok
Iconic style and all that but not really for me
Surprisingly entertaining! Liked that it seemed not to take itself too seriously. Only thing I can complain about is it being too long for my liking, but I really liked the songwriting on some of the songs
Okay, not that interesting
Certainly a bit unique in its sound for its genre and therefore interesting in its own right, but not amazing
Pretty okay rock
Nothing noteworthy. The definition of mid. One riff cought my attention slightly
Nothing too marvelous imo. Some pretty neat vocal harmonies
