My first time actually sitting down and listening to a Doors album in full. A few of the songs were a little too slow and mellow for my liking but overall an okay album

Cloudbusting

This album was definitely a trip, but a good trip, so many different styles of music throughout. A really fun experience. Definitely the first album on this journey that I’ve completely enjoyed.

Standout Songs:
…
Yeah I’m sorry, this album was NOT for me. It made me feel like I was in a hotel lobby, just… waiting. There were no words in this whole album, I prefer music with words, gives the music something to grasp on to. This is just a flat out jazz album. It may be someone’s taste but it ain’t mine. Next please.
Public Enemy
3/5
Standout Songs:
Incident at 66.6FM
Welcome to the Terrordome
Burn Hollywood Burn
Fear of a Black Planet

I don’t often listen to hip hop, because I don’t usually like it, but this album was actually pretty okay.
Guns N' Roses
5/5
Standout Songs:
Welcome to the Jungle
Nightrain
Mr. Brownstone
Paradise City

This is the first album in here that I have already heard in it’s entirety, always loved this album.

Standout Songs:
Blitzkrieg Bop
I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

Listen to My Heart

What a fun, upbeat album. I remember my dad had this album on cassette and I was absolutely obsessed with Blitzkrieg Bop. It was nice to finally sit down and listen to the whole thing. Loved it!
Isaac Hayes

Already my second soul album on this journey, yikes. I’m starting to learn soul isn’t really my thing.

Standout Songs:
Chameleon
Sly
Woah this album is weird. I honestly don’t really know what to make of it. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it, but I was more just left confused by it. So many unique sounds. That’s the word I’d use to describe this album, unique.
Richard Hawley
2/5
Standout Songs:
Just Like the Rain
I Sleep Alone
Nearly fell asleep while walking to work because I was listening to this album, what a snoozer
4/5
Standout Songs:
Fourth Time Around
Visions of Johanna
Desolation Row
Tell Me, Mama
I Don't Believe You
Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat
Starting to realize I really like folk rock, already the 3rd album like this that I’ve gotten and I’ve loved every one. This is easily the best live album I’ve heard to date.
Röyksopp
2/5
Standout Songs:
So Easy
In Space
Remind Me
I’m not big on electronic music. Really hoping I don’t get any more albums like this, already the second one within a few days. This one was tolerable but still not good. Just not my style.
Pixies
3/5
Standout Songs:
Cecilia Ann
Is She Weird
Down to the Well
Hang Wire
Havalina
The instruments on this album are so loud you can barely hear the singer’s voice half the time. After a while, it sort of all just blends together into… noise. It’s very in-your-face, with the exception of Havalina. I’m not saying it’s bad, I did enjoy it. I just don’t see myself coming back to it any time soon.

Oh dear christ where to begin. This is just noise. It’s not music. It’s loud noise. I hated every second of this ear-piercing garbage. Worst thing I’ve heard so far on here. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Who actually listens to this and thinks “yeah this sounds good”?

Standout Songs:
P-Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up)

One of the better instrumental albums I’ve gotten from this list. Fits the movie really well, very 70s gangster with a smooth soul touch

Standout Songs:

Not the worst of the ‘electronica’ type stuff but still not good, sorry.
Prince
3/5
Standout Songs:
Play In The Sunshine
Starfish and Coffee
Strange Relationship
It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night
An okay album, but not Prince’s best work. A lot of the songs were very sexual and I’m not really into that groove, but at least it had a good beat throughout.
Blondie
3/5
Standout songs:
One Way Or Another
Pretty Baby
11:59
Heart Of Glass
A decent album with good instrumentals. I do like Blondie’s voice but its out of rhythm with the music for parts of the album and it gets a little hard to listen to. Overall not bad though.

Standout Songs:

Well I found another type of music I really don’t like. This. British rap and EDM? Is this a joke?
The Velvet Underground
4/5
Standout Songs:
What Goes On
Pale Blue Eyes
Beginning To See The Light
That's The Story Of My Life
When I saw I got a Velvet Underground album I felt sick to my stomach because I was familiar with their noise rock type music, which is a style I don’t particularly enjoy. I went into this with the lowest of expectations and was pleasantly surprised. This album takes a step back from their more experimental work to focus on topics of love and religion. A very beautifully written album that I’m glad I gave a chance to.
Blood, Sweat & Tears
4/5
Standout Songs:
Smiling Phases
More and More
And When I Die
You've Made Me So Very Happy
Very fun, jazzy album. Absolutely love the singer’s voice. Makes me want to look into more of their music.

Standout Songs:

Disturbance At The Heron House
It's The End Of The World As We Know It
The One I Love
Fireplace
Lightnin' Hopkins
Oddfellows Local 151
Another incredibly fun album, and an absolute joy to listen to. Stipe’s voice is so beautiful. I’ve always loved R.E.M.’s music when I would hear it on the radio, nice to listen to one of their albums in it’s entirety. And I’m definitely glad this is the one I got. One of the best albums I’ve gotten in this project so far (day 41).
Antony and the Johnsons
1/5
I really did not enjoy this album at all and I’m noticing I don’t like ‘chamber pop’, it’s too depressing. And I hate the singer’s voice and how vibrate-y it is
Talvin Singh
1/5
Awful, terrible, and horrible. I didn't like it one bit. Sounded like an alarm going off and I couldn’t wake up.
Brian Wilson
1/5
Standout Songs:
Cabin Essence
This feels like an album made for children, there is even a song titled Song For Children. Why is this on the list of albums I need to hear before I die? I might have likes this when I was 2 but listening to it today was just a drag.
Johnny Cash
4/5
Standout Songs:
Folsom Prison Blues

Jimi Hendrix
4/5
Standout Songs:
Spanish Castle Magic
Wait Until Tomorrow
You Got Me Floatin'
One Rainy Wish
Little Miss Lover
A great album to get stoned and zone out to. Nearly 40 minutes of Jimi’s sweet guitar filling my ears. A lot of interesting sounds used throughout, especially the ending of ‘If 6 Was 9’.
Fela Kuti
2/5
Very long jazz fills interrupted by the same lines over and over and over. All 4 tracks feel exactly the same. Didn’t care for it.
Jazmine Sullivan
2/5
Standout Songs:
Pick Up Your Feelings
The Other Side
Musically, this album is fine, but lyrically, it is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. 90% of it talk about “I use my pussy to get what I want”. It’s not good music.
Joanna Newsom
2/5
Another unnecessarily long album, and the first folk album I’ve gotten that I didn’t enjoy. Every song sounded pretty much the same and nothing really stood out to me. And I don’t feel the singer’s voice matches this style of music.
Jefferson Airplane
4/5
Standout Songs:

Radiohead
4/5
Standout Songs:
The Bends
High and Dry
Fake Plastic Trees

5/5
Standout Songs:

Fleetwood Mac
5/5
Standout Songs:
Second Hand News
Dreams
Don't Stop
Go Your Own Way
The Chain
I Don't Want To Know
Gold Dust Woman
A near-perfect album, masterpiece.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
Standout Songs:
Thunder Road
Born to Run
Jungleland
I understand the praise that this album gets, but I just think it is a little dry. No real difference in sound between songs, another album where everything kinda meshes together. I also find his voice isn’t really in rhythm with the music, and the lyrics are a tad wordy. It’s not a bad album but not Bruce’s best work by any means.
Kendrick Lamar
2/5
I don’t understand how people can praise albums like this, Kendrick’s voice is so monotonous. Yet another album where all the songs blend together because they sound practically the same. And that long podcast-like conversation at the end, what the hell is that? Maybe I just don’t like rap, maybe I don’t get the art behind it. It’s just not my taste.
Standout Songs:
King Kunta
Institutionalized
Momma
How Much A Dollar Cost

A little too long for what it is. It was okay but really weird at times.
Iggy Pop
3/5
Standout Songs:
Some Weird Sin
The Passenger
Tonight
Miles Davis
1/5
A really long and boring jazz album, almost put me to sleep. No standout songs for this one. I don’t like sitting down and listening to a jazz album. I feel like I’m waiting. And waiting for what? Nothing. Just for it to be over.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
4/5
Standout Songs:
Breaking the Girl
Suck My Kiss
The Righteous & the Wicked
Give It Away
Under the Bridge
My Lovely Man
Pretty good album but yet another that gets kinda same-y towards the end
Alice Cooper
3/5
I have very mixed feelings about this album. On the one hand, the instrumentals are absolutely incredible. On the other hand, I can’t stand Alice Cooper’s voice. A lot of the songs are ruined by poor vocals. Musically it’s incredible, but vocally it’s shit.
Standout Songs:
Elected
No More Mr. Nice Guy
Generation Landslide

Lightning Bolt
2/5
Standout Songs:
Assassins
Dracula Mountain
Crown of Storms
30,000 Monkies
The Fall
1/5
Genuinely awful. Just some guys screaming and banging on their instruments for 40 minutes. Wanted to rip my ears off. One of the worst displays of punk rock I’ve ever seen. Just terrible.
Rufus Wainwright
2/5
Standout Songs:
Movies Of Myself
Beautiful Child
A slow, sad album that all blends together just like every chamber pop album. Nothing really interesting to me
James Brown
3/5
I’m not saying I disliked this album. It was okay. However I do have some critiques.
Lets start off with the good. The atmosphere is electric, the whole crowd is into it. And I do think James Brown has an incredible voice, that’s even better live than it is in his studio recordings.
On the other hand, the bad… There are parts where you can tell he isn’t singing directly into the microphone because his voice fades out. Kind of frustrating not being able to hear what he is saying for half the album.
I will say this isn’t particularly my style of music, but I didn’t necessarily have a bad time either. It was just okay to me.
Standout songs:
I’ll Go Crazy
I Don’t Mind
Medley
System Of A Down
5/5
Standout Songs:
Suite-Pee
Sugar
DDevil
Soil
CUBErt
Darts
P.L.U.C.K.
An album I am very familiar with and one I love dearly. 40 minutes of in-your-face metal! System has always been one of my favourite bands, and to get to listen to the album that started it all was just such a treat.
Otis Redding
3/5
Standout Songs:
Respect
Down in the Valley
My Girl
Wonderful World
Black Sabbath
4/5
Standout Songs:
Tomorrow’s Dream
Snowblind

808 State
1/5
Very strange album, didn’t care for it much. Especially that one that sounds like birds chirping the whole time, Pacific 202, that was awful
1/5
40 minutes of brutal, in your face, hardcore jazz. Not good. At all.
X-Ray Spex
3/5
Standout Songs:
Art-I-Ficial
Let’s Submerge
I Am A Poseur
Not really much to say, a very average female-led punk album. Could do without the saxophone(?) in the background of most songs.
Snoop Dogg
2/5
Overall an okay album, but some songs were a little too sexual for my taste. Similar to how I felt about Heaux Tales. The more ‘gangsta’ tracks were decent to listen to.
Standout Songs:
Gin and Juice
Serial Killa
For All My N*ggaz and B*tches
Doggy Dogg World
Tim Buckley
2/5
The only thing that redeems this album is the instrumentals. Every song is about sex and cheating and has some racist remark in it. This album did NOT age well, and should stay in the 70s. Next please.
Standout Songs
Nighthawkin’ (I guess?)
Dinosaur Jr.
3/5
Standout Songs:
Kracked
Sludgefeast
Raisans
Lose
Beck
3/5
Standout Songs:
Girl
Earthquake Weather
Broken Drum
Scarecrow
Go It Alone
Kings of Leon
3/5
This is the second King of Leon album I’ve gotten so far in this project, the other one being Only By The Night. I have to say, in comparison, this album doesn’t nearly come close to bringing as good as the latter, but that’s not to say it’s a bad album. I did enjoy it, I just had my expectations too high. The lead singers voice is much different in this album, it seems like he got some sort of vocal coaching between the releases. And it’s part of the reason this one isn’t getting 5 stars like Only By The Night. His groan-y voice kind of ruins it for me. I will give it a solid 3 stars for the great instrumentals.
Standout Songs:
King of the Rodeo
Milk
The Bucket
Razz
Velvet Snow
Black Sabbath
5/5
An absolutely incredible album that helped pave the way for heavy metal. It definitely still holds up today, still just an absolute joy to listen to front to back. A little haunting that I got this album the day after the Prince of Darkness passed 🙏
Standout Songs:
War Pigs
Paranoid
Iron Man
Electric Funeral
Hand of Doom
Fairies Wear Boots
John Lennon
4/5
Standout Songs:

Gimme Some Truth
Oh My Love
Oh Yoko!
Blur
3/5
Standout Songs:
Song 2
M.O.R.
You’re So Great
Chinese Bombs
Movin’ On
This album is honestly kind of boring and a chore to get through. Outside of a couple of the faster paced songs, it’s just so… mild. It’s not bad. Some sections of this album just seem to drag a bit, making its 56 minute run time feel like 2 hours.
Dolly Parton
2/5
A string of very basic country songs and an annoying vibrato. Most of the songs mesh together making this short 27 minute album feel like a blink of an eye.
Basement Jaxx
1/5
Didn’t like it.
Jorge Ben Jor
2/5
This album is alright, guy has a decent voice. But the sound of the cuica is just awful, I’ve never liked that instrument. And it’s in every damn song.
Run-D.M.C.
2/5
Standout Songs:
Walk This Way
Raising Hell
Tim Buckley
2/5
Very slow, boring album. How to make 40 minutes feel like 2 hours 👎
Laibach
4/5
Very interesting industrial album, not very often I get to listen to German music but I quite enjoyed this album. Need more stuff like this on my Spotify.
Standout Songs:
Leben Heißt Leben
Leben - Tod
Opus Dei
Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
I have mixed feelings about this one. There are some really good tunes here, but then you got Graveyard Train and Keep On Chooglin’ that just seem to drag on and on and on. Those 2 songs make up half the album, it’s nuts. If each of those songs were about 4 minutes shorter, this album would be 5-stars. Everything else was upbeat and catchy.
Standout Songs:
Born On The Bayou
Good Golly Miss Molly
Penthouse Pauper
Proud Mary
Mike Ladd
1/5
Super boring hip hop crap, guy can’t rap for shit, almost fell asleep
Emmylou Harris
2/5
Veeery slow, sad, and boring country album. Not really much else to say. Been on a pretty cold streak lately of boring albums that feel relatively the same throughout.
Television
3/5
Standout Songs:
Venus
Marquee Moon

Pretty bland noise rock album, nothing really stood out to me. Not my style.

Nitro (Youth Energy)
Bad Habit
Something to Believe In
Come Out and Play

Absolutey incredible punk rock album, definitely Offspring’s best work. Another album I was pretty familiar with going in and very happy I gave it a full listen.
Johnny Cash
3/5
Standout Songs:
Wreck of the Old 97
I Walk the Line
A Boy Named Sue
Arrested Development
1/5
No matter how much hip-hop they throw at me, there’s nothing I really enjoy. And this, I particularly did NOT enjoy.
Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
2/5
Standout Songs:
Visions Of You
Rising Above Bedlam
So this is my first album with the genre label as “World” (after 102 albums), and I gotta say, I don’t really care for it. It’s a blend of many different cultures of music and just feels confusing. Not my style
The Velvet Underground
2/5
Standout Songs:
I'm Waiting For The Man
There She Goes Again
Rocket From The Crypt
4/5
Standout Songs:
On A Rope
Drop Out
Used

Come See, Come Saw
At first I was unsure, but after a couple songs I really started to get into it.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
3/5
Standout Songs:
Natural Mystic
Waiting In Vain
Three Little Birds
Not the biggest fan of reggae, but I gotta admit this album had me nodding my head to the rhythm a couple times
Jean-Michel Jarre
2/5
Wasn’t too into it, but the pew pew noises in Pt. 2 were cool
AC/DC
5/5
Standout Songs:
Hells Bells
Shoot to Thrill
Givin the Dog a Bone
Back In Black
You Shook Me All Night Long
Have a Drink on Me
Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
Probably my favourite AC/DC album, so so happy I got to listen to this. Nearly every song absolutely ROCKS!
The Blue Nile
3/5
Standout Songs:
Tinseltown in the Rain
Stay
Kind of middle of the road for me, a couple upbeat tunes but nothing too flashy
Leonard Cohen
1/5
Really sad and mopey, and for some songs the lyrics make no sense. A sloppy mess
Coldplay
3/5
Standout Songs:
Shiver
Yellow
Everything’s Not Lost
The White Stripes
4/5
Standout Songs:
Blue Orchid
Little Ghost
The Denial Twist
Instinct Blues
Red Rain
Pretty solid album. I have heard a few songs from this band before but nothing off this album, although it has a similar vibe to stuff I’ve heard.
Iron Butterfly
3/5
Standout Songs:
Most Anything You Want
Termination
Half of the album is taken up by one track, that’s the only real downside to this album. That last track drags on and on and on
Beastie Boys
2/5
Standout Songs:
Sabotage
Alright Hear This
Thelonious Monk
1/5
Very messy jazz album that I didn’t really enjoy at all. Every songs had many parts that felt all over the place, out of rhythm. Not for me at all.
Peter Gabriel
2/5
Standout Songs:
Family Snapshot
And Through The Wire
Did not really enjoy this one, especially the first handful of songs. I don’t really like art/experimental rock.
Joni Mitchell
3/5
Standout Songs:
Furry Sings The Blues
A Strange Boy
Black Crow
Decent folk album but a few of the songs were waaay too long. Having multiple 6+ minute songs in a row makes it drag a little. I do love Joni’s voice.
Beatles
4/5
Standout Songs:
Drive My Car
You Won't See Me
Think For Yourself
The Word
What Goes On
In My Life
Wait
The Allman Brothers Band
4/5
Standout Songs:
Statesboro Blues
Stormy Monday
Hot 'Lanta
Okay so, this album is pretty good. I’m not usually one for long instrumental sections, but this is a style of music I enjoy, so it’s not too bad. The songs that do have lyrics are very enjoyable, love the singer’s voice. The guitarist is very talented, the long solos are so clean.
The Mars Volta
4/5
I’m on a really good stretch of albums right now, and it continues with this prog rock masterpiece. Some of the best guitar work I’ve ever heard. I almost didn’t want the album to end.
Standout Songs:
Inertiatic Esp
Drunkship of Lanterns
Eriatarka
Televators
Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt
Nirvana
5/5
Probably the greatest live recording of all time. Basically just a compilation of all my favourite Nirvana songs. Incredible. Perfect.
Standout Songs:
All of them.
Van Halen
5/5
Standout Songs:
Jump
Panama
Top Jimmy
Hot for Teacher
I'll Wait
Girl Gone Bad
Hell yeah! One of my all time favourite albums comes up on the list. Half an hour of rockin’ out! Been on such a good streak of albums lately.
Coldcut
3/5
This is not typically my style of music. I gotta be in a particular mood to enjoy this kind of music. And in that mood I was. I’ve been on such a good streak of albums that something as interesting as this is still okay. There were a few tracks I quite enjoyed. I particularly liked the “pump up the volume” part of Not Paid Enough. Very interesting album overall. And not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Standout Songs:
People Hold On
Stop This Crazy Thing
Smoke Dis One
Not Paid Enough
The Who
4/5
Standout Songs:
Out In The Street
My Generation
The Kids Are Alright,
It's Not True
I'm A Man
I think the roulette knows what’s going on in the real world, because The Who just started their farewell tour. This coming just over a month after me getting Paranoid on the day Ozzy died. Cryptic.
The Who
4/5
Standout Songs:
I Can't Explain
Tattoo
Young Man Blues
Happy Jack
Amazing Journey / Sparks
Summertime Blues
My Generation
Great live album. Also my second Who album in a row. I do think they sound better live honestly
The Roots
3/5
Standout Songs:
Rock You
Sacrifice
Thought @ Work
The Seed (2.0)
Complexity
Lou Reed
3/5
Standout Songs:
Vicious
Perfect Day
Satellite of Love
Wagon Wheel
Not bad, although I think Lou’s voice is very monotonous and sounds nearly the same in every song. Musically it’s really good, lyrically it’s okay (my only critique is he talks about sex quite a bit). Overall a decent album but probably not one I will return to.
Bob Dylan
4/5
Standout Songs:
She Belongs to Me
Love Minus Zero
Outlaw Blues
Bob Dylan's 115th Dream
Mr. Tambourine Man
I’ve said it in reviews before, I’m really becoming fond of folk rock. This album was a very nice listen while I did the dishes. Always loved Bob Dylan.
Green Day
5/5
Standout Songs:
American Idiot
Jesus of Suburbia
Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Give Me Novocaine / She’s a Rebel
Wake Me up When September Ends
Homecoming
When you think of 2000s punk rock, this is usually the album that comes to mind. And for good reason. I absolutely adore this album, so good from start to finish. Upbeat and fun, groovy guitar, and incredible drumming. Damn near perfect to me.
Hole
3/5
Standout Songs:
Asking For It
Jennifer's Body
I Think That I Would Die
Rock Star
Roni Size
1/5
Extremely long, very repetitive, and brutally annoying. Nothing good came out of listening to this. 90% of it was the same beat. And not a good beat. And the vocals were just god awful (on the few songs that actually HAD vocals). Never touching this album again.
AC/DC
4/5
Standout Songs:
Highway To Hell
Girls Got Rhythm
Touch Too Much
Shot Down in Flames
If You Want Blood (You've Got It)
Night Prowler
Steely Dan
4/5
Standout Songs:
Rikki Don't Lose That Number
Any Major Dude Will Tell You
Barrytown
Parker's Band
With A Gun
Charlie Freak
Really solid album that was fun to listen to. Even the slower songs still had a cheerful vibe. Very pleasant
Grateful Dead
1/5
About an hour of random guitar riffs and pointless lyrics followed by 7 minutes of the most unbearable screeching you’ll ever hear. Not good.
Orange Juice
2/5
Standout Songs:
A Million Pleading Faces
I Can't Help Myself
Cyndi Lauper
3/5
Standout Songs:
Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Time After Time
All Through The Night
Witness
Some decent songs on here but a bit too much pop for me
Christine and the Queens
4/5
I hate how much I enjoyed this album. Great vocals, I honestly didn't mind that it was in french because I like the singers voice so much. Also decent instrumentals. Overall not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Very fun pop-y album.
Standout Songs:
Comme si on s'aimait
Doesn't matter (voleur de soleil)
5 dols
Machin-chose
L'étranger (voleur d'eau)
Big Black
2/5
Another album on the bad side of noise rock. I’m very iffy on this genre already and this album didn’t help. Not really my groove.
Coldplay
2/5
I still can’t really get behind Coldplay. Most of their stuff is soooo sappy and sad. A couple okay tracks but nothing I’d really call amazing
Standout Songs:
God Put a Smile upon Your Face
Clocks
Electric Light Orchestra
3/5
Decent pop album, really catchy and happy. Pretty good.
Standout Songs:
Turn to Stone
Sweet Talkin’ Woman
Jungle
Standin’ in the Rain
Summer and Lightning
Birmingham Blues
The The
2/5
Another new wave / synth pop garbage fest. Why am I getting so many pop albums in a row?? I can’t bring myself to like this style of music
Beck
3/5
Standout Songs:
Devils Haircut
Lord Only Knows
Derelict
Sissyneck
Bob Marley & The Wailers
2/5
Standout Songs:
Stir It Up
Midnight Ravers
Still not big on reggae, most of the songs blend together and sound the same. Very boring. Bob Marley does have some decent songs but I never really desire sitting down and listening to a whole album.
Mudhoney
2/5
Didn’t care for it. Very messy, and the songwriting isn't good. A lot of “I’m so sad life is so hard” stuff.
Elbow
2/5
Another album that’s just waaaay too slow and sappy. Nothing else really to say about it, I think it’s boring
Thin Lizzy
4/5
This list never disappoints when it comes to live albums. I love Thin Lizzy, hard rockin’ music and amazing guitar solos. I do think the singers voice sounds better in studio recordings, but overall I can’t complain. I enjoyed the album.
Standout Songs:
Jailbreak
Emerald
Rosalie (Cowgirl's Song)
Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed
The Boys Are Back In Town
Don't Believe A Word
Are You Ready?
Marianne Faithfull
3/5
Decent album overall, a couple upbeat tunes that I could groove to. I particularly liked the solo at the end of What’s The Hurry? Although I don’t particularly enjoy the singers voice, it didn’t really take away from my enjoyment of the album.
The Charlatans
2/5
Yet another very generic british pop-rock album, soooo many of these on this list. Everything blends together into one long medley.
Kanye West
1/5
Awful. Every song is either bass-boosted to shit, or autotuned to shit. I hate the awful electronic beats and Kanye’s rapping is just awful. Every other song is “I get so much pussy”
Green Day
4/5
Standout Songs:
Longview
Welcome to Paradise
Basket Case
She
When I Come Around
Coming Clean
Enemius Sleepus
In The End
Really solid album. A nice change of pace from the last 2-ish weeks of slop. Always loved Green Day, and I actually have this album on CD so it was nice to re-listen to it. A lot of catchy tunes.
Cheap Trick
5/5
Another really great live album! So many good songs from Cheap Trick’s discography. A very fun upbeat album and you can tell the crowd is really into it.
Standout Songs:
Come On, Come On
Lookout
Need Your Love
Ain't That A Shame
I Want You To Want Me
Surrender
Goodnight
Earth, Wind & Fire
3/5
Standout Songs:
Shining Star
That’s The Way Of The World
Reasons
Nas
2/5
Another generic hiphop album that seems to repeat itself with every song. Never heard the n-word slung around so much in one album.
Beastie Boys
2/5
A couple good songs here and there but most of the flows sound pretty much the same. Every other song is about “Hey we’re the beastie boys and we know how to rap”. Same problem I had with Ill Communication. Maybe I just don’t understand the symbolism of it.
Standout Songs:
Rhymin and Stealin
Slow Ride
Fight For Your Right
Jungle Brothers
2/5
Standout Songs:
Sunshine
Belly Dancin' Dina
Tribe Vibes
Doin' Our Own Dang
The Who
3/5
One of the few Who albums I’m not fond of. The whole advertisement aspect didn’t really jive with me but there are a couple decent tracks.
Standout Songs:
Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand
Tattoo
I Can See For Miles
Boston
5/5
Probably the greatest debut album of all time, and one of that is dear to my heart. I can sing along to every song on this album. It will always be one of my favourites. 10/10
Bebel Gilberto
2/5
This album is a little boring and slow. The kind of music they play at a high-end bar, where there’s a beautiful lady in a sparkly dress singing in a foreign language. I do love the singers voice although I can’t understand a word she’s saying (I don’t speak Portuguese). It’s not my style but I didn’t hate it, it’s okay.
Standout songs:
Sem Contencao
Bananiera
Close Your Eyes
Red Snapper
1/5
Why is there so much of this crappy british electronic music on here? It’s boring and repetitive. The same beats looping for 6 minutes at a time. This album is way too long and I see no situation where I would enjoy listening to something like this. I was definitely not satisfied.
Kraftwerk
1/5
Just more annoying european electronic music. Stupid robot voices and weird bleeps and bloops. I hate this kind of “music” if you can even call it that. It’s just sounds.
Rod Stewart
3/5
A solid album, I love the raspy-ness of his voice. It is a tad boring at times, but overall not bad.
Standout Songs:
Every Picture Tells A Story
Seems Like A Long Time
Mandolin Wind
Little Simz
3/5
Not nearly as bad as most of the rap albums on this list. That being said, I still don’t really care for rap. I will admit there were a handful of songs that had me nodding my head. Also think it’s cool that she shouts out some of her inspirations.
Standout Songs:
Selfish
101 FM
Flowers
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
2/5
I typically like folk rock albums but I just must not have been in the mood for folk, because I didn’t really enjoy it. Nothing particularly stood out to me. It wasn’t bad, just bland.
Bill Evans Trio
1/5
I don’t think any album will make me like jazz. Most of the bass sections are very messy. I didn’t care for it at all. Like I’ve stated before, jazz is just waiting music.
Christina Aguilera
1/5
80 minutes of the worst generic pop slop you can imagine. Back to basics? Yeah it was basic, bland as all hell. And what was up with the over the top sexual stuff. Nasty naught boy? Still dirty? Gross. Almost unbearable to listen to in it’s entirety.
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
2/5
An unnecessarily long folk album where the back half feels like a demo, a couple decent tracks early on but nothing really too exciting. Should have been about 20 minutes shorter in my opinion
Standout Songs:
Cripple Creek
Broken Heart
Books of Moses
Alanis Morissette
5/5
I absolutely adore this album. It’s one of the few I’ve gotten on here that I own on CD. Something about this album perfectly encapsulates the 90s, I love everything about it. I know that Alanis is not the best singer, but it gives her music a distinct sound that I’ll never get tired of.
Standout Songs:
All of them!!!
Manu Chao
2/5
Another album where it’s not my style of music but I like the singer’s voice. I’m not big on music where I can’t understand the lyrics.
Standout Songs:
Je ne t'aime plus
Welcome to Tijuana
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Standout Songs:
Route 66
i Just Want To Make Love To You
Mona (I Need You Baby)
Carol
Can I Get A Witness
The Fall
3/5
Musically a decent album, but the singer’s voice pretty much mumbles his way through the whole thing. Right down the middle of the road for me, didn’t hate it but wasn’t anything great either
Standout Songs:
Lost In Music
It's A Curse
Service
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
3/5
One of the better hiphop albums I’ve gotten, pretty funky. I was surprised to see there was a song I knew (It’s Nasty). Decent stuff
Linkin Park
5/5
This is, in my opinion, Linkin Park’s second-best album behind Meteora. Has a lot of my favourites of their songs. It is a little short, only running 37 minutes, but I enjoyed every second of it. Chester Bennington had one of the greatest voices in nu metal history.
Standout Songs:
Papercut
One Step Closer
With You
Crawling
Runaway
In the End
A Place for My Head
Pushing Me Away
Beastie Boys
1/5
A crappy generic rap album that uses the weirdest samples at the weirdest times. I already don’t enjoy hip-hop and this album did not help change that. Hard pass on this one.
The Cramps
3/5
Standout Songs:
Garbageman
Sunglasses After Dark
Mystery Plane
Strychnine
David Crosby
4/5
A decent folk album. Nothing too flashy but still quite enjoyable.
Standout Songs:
Cowboy Movie
What Are Their Names
Orleans
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3/5
Okay so I normally like Neil Young, but this garage rock phase he had is not great. A lot of the songs on this album are way too long and boring, and it kinda just melts together. Just another album where I didn’t really enjoy it but I didn’t necessarily hate it either. Meh.
The Mamas & The Papas
2/5
Never really been a big fan of this beachy style of folk, it just gets so repetitive, feels like the same song over and over.
SZA
1/5
A generic r&b album that talks about sex waaaaay too much, never heard the word “pussy” so many times in an hour before. Only a couple listenable tracks right at the end. Not good at all
Wu-Tang Clan
1/5
Yet another way too long hiphop album that just sounds the same as all the rest. I’ll never understand how people can praise music like this
Dead Kennedys
3/5
Fast paced but a tad repetitive, overall not bad
Standout Songs:
Forward To Death
Let’s Lynch The Landlord
California Uber Alles
Holiday In Cambodia
Joni Mitchell
4/5
Nice easy listen. A good blend of rock and soft pop. Pretty good.
Standout Songs:
In France They Kiss on Main Street

Don't Interrupt the Sorrow
The Hissing of Summer Lawns
The Byrds
3/5
Standout Songs:
C.T.A. - 102
Thoughts and Words
My Back Pages
The Girl With No Name
Joy Division
3/5
A very dark and gloomy atmosphere around this one, makes it kind of slow and boring, but overall not horrible.
Standout Songs:
Insight
Shadowplay
Interzone
Gene Clark
3/5
Not too bad, had sort of a Bob Dylan vibe. Was a bit repetitive in style but overall enjoyable.
Standout Songs:
The Virgin
White Light
Tears Of Rage
Janet Jackson
2/5
Standout Songs:
Rhythm Nation
Love Will Never Do (Without You)
Alright
Black Cat
Not really my style, but a couple songs I knew from the radio
Simon & Garfunkel
4/5
I was starting to get a little sick of all the folk rock on this list, but this album was pretty good. Nothing felt too same-y like most folk stuff.
Standout Songs:
Cecilia
Keep the Customer Satisfied
The Boxer
Baby Driver
Wilco
1/5
Slow and monotonous, another boring indie rock type album that nearly put me to sleep
CHIC
2/5
Fairly repetitive disco album, never been a fan of disco. I think these guys can be categorized as one hit wonders
Michael Jackson
5/5
A really catchy, funky album. A lot of songs on this album became big hits, and for good reason. It’s an all around great time.
Standout Songs:
Bad
The Way You Make Me Feel
Liberian Girl
Man in the Mirror
I Just Can't Stop Loving You
Dirty Diana
Smooth Criminal
Arctic Monkeys
2/5
A mediocre british rock album, and another one that was relatively same-y. I probably would have enjoyed this back when I was in middle school but now its just not my taste
Charles Mingus
1/5
A very loud and messy jazz album that was almost a chore to sit through. This one is about 40 minutes too long
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Standout Songs:
Maybe Your Baby
Superstition
Big Brother
N.W.A.
1/5
Still can’t wrap my head around this kind of music. I don’t get why people like it. So vulgar, every other word is either the n-word, or some sort of swearing. Not for me
Carpenters
2/5
A fairly mellow pop album that was a tad repetitive but overall not bad. Not exactly my style but there are a few enjoyable tracks.
Tom Tom Club
1/5
This album is most known for genius of love because it’s been in every commercial ever. But when you compile 40 minute of that bleep bloop noise garbage it becomes unbearable after a while. I’ll pass on this one.
k.d. lang
2/5
A very mellow country pop album, not really my style, and a lot of the songs were too slow, but I can appreciate the singer’s voice. Not bad but I don’t think I’ll revisit this one
Jethro Tull
4/5
Standout Songs:
Aqualung
Cross-Eyed Mary
Wond'ring Aloud
Hymn 43
Locomotive Breath
Really solid album, I love prog rock style stuff like this.
David Bowie
3/5
This album has a nice atmosphere to it, but it moves a little too slow for my liking. Bowie is undeniably iconic, and the title track is really solid. I just thought the long instrumental section was a bit boring
Sonic Youth
2/5
Not as bad as I was expecting. I typically don’t like Sonic Youth but this one wasn’t terrible. Didn’t really like the long segments of just noise, but the actual music was decent.
Standout Songs:
Dirty Boots
Kool Thing
Disappearer
Yes
4/5
Standout Songs:
Roundabout
South Side of the Sky
Long Distance Runaround
Heart of the Sunrise
Absolutely beautiful prog album that’s so much more than just the “To Be Continued…” meme. Very much enjoyed it.
Pet Shop Boys
3/5
Decent dance-y music, one of the few pop albums I’ve gotten on here that was actually okay. Didn’t really care for the vocals, the singer doesn't have much range in his voice, but the music was good.
Joy Division
2/5
Slow repetitive crap. Ian Curtis groaning about how sad life is for 45 minutes. His voice reminds me so much of Lou Reed, I hate it. There’s nothing particularly interesting here, never understood the hype of Joy Division
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
1/5
Love my ears being blown off by screaming in the first 5 seconds. Anyways. What the actual fuck is this? It sounds like something a couple drunk college kids and an Elvis impersonator made in an hour. A lot of the “songs”… if you can even call them that… are loud obnoxious noise and bullshit shouting. One of the worst experiences I’ve had from this project. A waste of 45 minutes.
Pearl Jam
5/5
One of the best albums ever. I love Eddie Vedder, the greatest voice in grunge. This album is a perfect blend of heavy and depressing. Absolutely beautiful, flows perfectly. 10/10
The Young Gods
3/5
Standout Songs:
Rue des tempêtes
Crier les chiens
Ville Notre
L'Amourir
The Psychedelic Furs
3/5
I typically don’t like british post-punk stuff like this, but this one was okay. Musically it was pretty good. Singer’s voice is a tad monotonous and doesn’t vary much but it works in this case. Not bad.
Standout Songs:
Pretty In Pink
No Tears
Mr. Jones
All of This and Nothing
Michael Kiwanuka
4/5
To say I was skeptical going into this album would be an understatement, but I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting it to have as much rock influence as it did. Also I love Kiwanuka’s voice. So full of soul and passion. Really solid.
Standout Songs:
You Ain't The Problem
Rolling
I've Been Dazed
Hero
Hard To Say Goodbye
Solid Ground
Air
2/5
Couldn’t really get behind this one. Most of the album is slow ambient music with no words. This is what I would consider studying music. Just listening to it at face value doesn't really do much for me.
Dexys Midnight Runners
1/5
So apparently there’s two more albums of these guys on this list… gee I sure am excited for that.
Half the album is just talking over music, and the parts that do have actual singing are nearly incomprehensible. Singers sound like they have marbles in their mouths. Only tolerable song was just Werewolves of London with different words. It’s clear to see why these guys are seen as one hit wonders
Wire
2/5
Standout Songs:
Ex Lion Tamer
The Commercial
Strange
Radiohead
3/5
Decent album, going into this list I had a notion that I didn’t like Radiohead without ever having listened to them, but this is now my third Radiohead album on this list and they’re definitely growing on me
Standout Songs:
Backdrifts
Go To Sleep
Where I End and You Begin
There, There
Myxomatosis
Scatterbrain
Frank Sinatra
4/5
I enjoyed this more than I expected, flows very nicely and its got good rhythm. A little repetitive but overall enjoyable.
Standout Songs:
You Make Me Feel So Young
You’re Getting To Be A Habit With Me
Old Devil Moon
I’ve Got You Under My Skin
Makin’ Whoopee
The Kinks
3/5
Standout Songs:
Dandy
House in the Country
Holiday in Waikiki
Sunny Afternoon
The Smiths
3/5
Standout Songs:
Rusholme Ruffians
I Want the One I Can’t Have
What She Said
Not bad, i’m not huge on indie rock but this album is okay. So many british singers have no range in their voices
PJ Harvey
4/5
Way better than I was expecting, I love the raw energy of this album and PJ Harvey’s voice is soooo good. Definitely recommend this one.
Standout Songs:
Missed
Legs
Rub 'Til It Bleeds
Man-Size Sextet
50ft Queenie
Man-Size
Dry
Me-Jane
Koffi Olomide
1/5
Very repetitive resort-style music. Just taking this album at face value its veeeery boring. It’d be fine in a beach setting but just sitting down and listening to it is not fun. I’m gonna be hearing “Pousser, poussa” in my dreams tonight. Just not good at all.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
4/5
First handful of songs were slow and repetitive but halfway through the album it switches to hard rock, groovy guitar riffs, overall solid music. Not my favourite Neil Young work but still pretty good
Marvin Gaye
2/5
As influential and important as this album is, it’s just not my style of music, I’m not really one for slow sappy soul like this.
Elvis Costello
4/5
Honestly don’t understand why most of the reviews on this album complain about his voice, I kinda liked it.
Standout Songs:
Kinder Murder
13 Steps Lead Down
You Tripped at Every Step
Sulky Girl
My Science Fiction Twin
Just About Glad
Joan Armatrading
3/5
A nice mix of folk rock and soul, she has a great voice, lots of range.
Standout songs:
Down To Zero
Water With The Wine
People
