It almost sounds like different recording equipment was used for the background vocals and some instruments. The contrast was a little jarring for me.
Good, still makes me want to sleep.
More like a 3.75 or so.

This is the definition of 80’s adult contemporary.
So THAT’S why everyone talks about this album.
It’s fine I guess.
Continuing to confuse Republicans for over 40 years.
Meh….
It was alright.
Pretty good background music but not really something I would seek out.
Nice
Not bad.
Not bad, better than I thought it would be going into it.
It his best album, but solid none the less.
It’s fine, decent background music.
It’s a solid middle of the road three. A couple of the songs seemed to ramble a bit.
Better than I expected, a high 3.
Nice!!
I’m being generous.
A very high 4.
Better than I thought it would be.
Not as good as I was hoping.
I’m surprised by how good this is.
The good is good, the bad is bad. Pure definition of a 3.
A very high 3. Almost a 4 but not quite.
So that’s why they were a one hit wonder.
Maybe being in LSD would help this album out, but I doubt it.
No, just no.
This is like having your family guilt trip you into going to see your cousins cover band at some bar you never heard of on a Tuesday night. The drinks are watered down, none of your family shows up so the entire place is empty except for you and a bartender who would rather be anywhere else. They play and you discover why no one else is there but your cousin thinks you must be a great fan of the music, gives you a CD, and insists on listening to it together. That CD is this.
I think he was trying to mimic Stevie Wonder, but the whole thing came across like a lot of pop at this time. Too over produced, too shiny, with the depth of a kiddie pool.
It captures the late fifties, early sixties vibe well enough. You can see where their vocal harmonies were leading things at the time.
Couldn’t find the proper album so I listened to other works. Classic, but will only rate a 3 since I couldn’t listen to the right thing.
Very weird album, but not bad weird, just…. Odd.
Definitely 80’s country, but with some 80’s pop in there too.
Never realized how good this album was. To quote the album, “if this don’t move your booty; you’re booty might be dead”
Nope
Great album that has withstood the test of time.
Kind of all over the place.
So much chill.
No thanks
Couple of clunkers but not enough to drop it too low.
Not bad actually, something completely different.
More of stuff like this.
Turns out that there is some Brian Eno that I like.
It’s a three, but it’s a little three.
Funktastic
Whoever wrote these songs had some relationship issues.
You can no longer get the kind of drugs that make this sound good.
I really liked the silent bits between the songs.
This ranges from great, The Ace of Spades, to creepy, Jailbait.
Wu-Tang is for the children
A lotta cheatin’ going on.
Pleasantly surprised
This explains why so many people hate New Wave.

If they took out all of the repeating lines, this album would be really short.
By all accounts this isn’t a good album, and let I still enjoyed listening to it much in the same way you can enjoy a movie that is bad enough to be good.
Aged like milk.
When this came out in 2004, I wasn’t old enough to appreciate it. And now, decades later, I’m still not, which is why I gave it a 2.
This is exactly what I imaged German industrial music to sound like.
Still don’t like Rush.
I think the title track may be the weakest song on the album.
The album sounds like a French version of Tom Waits.
Why would you put what’s arguably Björk’s worst album on here?
