If Wham! isn't bubblegum enough for you give this a try. It sounds extremely 80s and Green's vocals are so extremely sweet and sugary it is almost nauseating. Despite everything though I did actually enjoy this album, its really well produced and matches Green. This creates something very light and sweet that is basically cotton candy pop music. Despite the extremely 80s sound, this album has gone on to have influence into the present with producer AG Cook and the PC music movement being influenced by this album. David Gamson has even gone on to work with more current artists like Charli XCX and Kesha. This album obviously isn't for everyone (currently the 16th lowest rated album) but I came out enjoying for what it is.

Good yet a sort of awkward transition from blues rock into metal with a bit too many traditional instruments that work against the atmosphere of the album for me
Buddy Holly really was a guy with so much potential and was taken too soon. Early pop rock songs litter this album with it being a clear influence on later bands like the Beatles
Mega hit album, I was surprised that I still enjoy the singles after how much I've heard them. The deeper cuts here are kind of meh though. There is no denying her vocal talent though you do still need the songs to back that up. Did not know she did a Cure cover, not anywhere near as good as the original though.
It's heavy, it's rocking and has amazing riffs. What more do you really need?
Heat stroke dreams
A beautiful trip through a cold winter night
The title track deserves its praise and I also really like Kometenmelodie 2, but the rest of it leaves me kind of dry. It's still good but I think they continue to improve on their later releases.
Billy Corgan's angst filled epic, a favourite of teenagers for good reason. The lyrics do push it at times for me but the song writing is strong enough that I get over them pretty easily. I do find it slightly front-loaded though preferring the first disc overall, but the second disc still does have the all timer 1979 on it.
Decent dance music, though I find the progression on the tracks struggle to keep me engaged for their whole lengths.
Can't say its bad but I've heard these songs so many times it has really killed most enjoyment I can get from them
Rip it Up is good, but the rest of the songs are lacking. This combined with the singer struggling to carry the melodies makes this an underwhelming listen.
Great A side and a decent B side. I Want You is a real standout here, but a few of the tracks run a little too standard for me to really fall for this album.
I was hoping to get past the language barrier on this one despite Chanson being a lyrics focused genre. Sadly I was unable to, Jacques gives an emotive performance but the melodies within the songs sadly left me dry. I understand why a figure like Jacques belongs on this list and I can appreciate him from a distance but this album wasn't for me.
This album seems to be sort of bridge between the jangle pop of the 80s and the beatlesque pop sounds of the 60s. An album that is both ahead and behind the times.
Cohen of course has great lyrics but what has really always captivated me about this album is minimalism within the instrumentals. The sparing use of anything past the acoustic guitar such as backing vocals is done very precisely making these simple thing resonate so much more. This creates an atmosphere on this album unlike any I've really ever heard, mostly cold and lonely but with moments of light when these other elements come into play. These elements come together with the lyrics to create a truly one of a kind album.
i honestly expected to enjoy this as I like the big singles from this album but man was I wrong. The other tracks here mostly don't sound like them at all and whenever Kiedis starts rapping on these other tracks all hope for a good song is quickly lost.
Decent mix of styles here on Georges solo debut album, certainly trying to get rid of his "teenybopper" status by going way more overtly sexual. I think those more sexual / freaky songs are the best ones here with the more plain ballad types not really being to interesting. Father Figure is a real standout for me along with the title track of course. The direction George takes with this album can been seen as a blueprint of sorts for other "teenyboppers"/ Boy band members looking to go solo and appearing more mature. I'd say Timberlake certainly took cues from what George was doing on this.
Its a long album split into 4 parts but I'm not too sure about why the parts are split the way they are. There isn't much to differentiate each of them with this album being pretty stylistically consistent throughout. The music itself is decent/competent all the way through, though for 75 minutes of runtime you have to bring better than that to justify its length. Half of the runtime could be cut without any real loss in my opinion. There is nothing here I would call outright bad but nothing that really made me have any desire to listen again.
A slight step down from his debut but still a solid album. The change of producer from the previous album can really be felt here, I really don't enjoy the production compared to the masterful work by John Simon previously. They also really loved that Jew's Harp with it being on every song here I'd say unnecessarily a lot of the time. Cohen himself is perfectly enjoyable here though bringing solid songs. It's a solid 7/10 album but i'll round up here cause I like Cohen
The Message is of course a classic early Hip Hop track but the rest of songs here really don't come close to it at all.
I was not expecting to enjoy a Rod Stewart album

It has interesting production and instrumentals but I don't think any of the actual songs are that good
The fall are a good band and should have an album here (they do have 2 more). But not sure why this album had to be one of them.
I know people who love this album but man is it ever not for me, maybe one of the most exhausting albums I've ever heard. All the songs seem to just go on forever and her voice is just nails on a chalkboard.
