Reviews (page 4 of 8)
I have an adverse reaction to George Michael and it's pure prejudice stemming from despising Wham in it's day. Then I put this album on and recall how much of this I know, and the man's voice. See! Being a jerk means you miss out on nice things. (And Wham wasn't that bad in retrospect...but still wasn't great, or even hinted at how successful GM would be).
glorious 80s trash!!!
One of the smoothest silkiest voices ever to grace a mortal. He was gorgeous too. Faith is a stone cold classic, and even the lesser songs with their veering-into-proper-corny are saved by his smooth vocals.
A collection of great pop songs. A couple album fillers, but overall a gem! Favorite line: “Sex is natural, sex is fun, sex is best when it’s one on one.” Good lord.
7/10 enjoyable and corny pop album, track lengths were a little long.
A couple tracks in the middle weren’t interesting to me but overall I liked this. 8/10
This was a surprisingly good album, minus the 15 minutes of constant "I want your sex" repetition. Recognized almost every song, couldn't believe it. Solid pop that is a bit dates but still very good.
We got "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" a while back and I was disappointed by it. I guess that's because all my favorite George Michael songs are on "Faith." Great album.
This man. So talented and soulful.
I read a comment that said “If you don’t like this album you are homophobic”. People are so funny. I love this. I love his voice. I love the background vocals. I love the snare. I love the reverb on everything. It’s sexy as hell. I would have liked a different ending on I want your sex. Loved bis performance on Kissing a Fool.
I've always liked George Michael's voice, even back in Wham (although I did not care for Wham). The songs here are not as much of a range as "Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1," but you can tell he was trying different things. And I don't blame him for that. Did not realize that "I Want Your Sex" had 2 parts to it. Shows you what I know. So this is definitely where you see the progression to "Listen..." and it's really quite good. Enjoyed it a lot.
So I read the background on this album and I guess he was trying to do something as big or great as Michael Jackson or Prince. His hits definitely reach that level - Faith has great musical elements (love the rockabilly), Father Figure is deep and beautiful (lyrics and instrumentation), One More Try is even deeper and more beautiful (maybe my favorite of all the songs he ever created). But other songs just sound like terrible 80's cheese (e.g., Hard Day, Look at Your Hands). Even Monkey and I Want Your Sex, both big hits, are cheesy - I get why the latter was a big hit (needed some frank talk on the subject in the 80s) but the former is a bit of a head scratcher. Still, he brings it back with his softer and more introspective ballads - Hand to Mouth and Kissing a Fool are also really beautiful pieces. In the end I guess he got pretty close to his idols with this album but not quite all the way.
This album is more than your run of the milk 80s pop album. It is reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac at times while able to draw on a wide range of influences such as gospel, club, and blues music. George Michael’s sex positive message is also interesting given the AIDS crisis at the time. Overall a very enjoyable and interesting album.
Enjoyed, would listen to it again
This album deserves to be up there with the big iconic albums of the 80s. You can definitely hear the echoes of Michael Jackson and Prince, but there's so much more going on here than mere emulation. A brave, bold synthesis of styles. Above all, it is genuinely fun to listen to. You can tell he had a great time making it and that joy is contagious.
Good poppy fun
The 80s generated the most consistently good pop music, and I will fight anybody that tries to tell me otherwise. With that in mind, I was very happy to get this as my album for the day today! Songs I already knew: Faith Favourite after listening: Faith, I Want Your Sex Pts. 1 & 2 Overall: 7/10 There are some fantastic songs on this album, but as we get to the middle point and towards the end, the songs do tend to get a little less interesting. The album does feel quite front-loaded, with all the best songs being the first ones you hear with the only exception being Kissing A Fool which is a breath of fresh air with its smooth jazz piano. With all of this in mind, it was still a very enjoyable album. It’s frankly a crime that the synths popular in the 80s are rarely used any more. Would recommend to anybody who enjoys camp 80s pop - although I’d be surprised if anybody with that taste hasn’t already heard it!
Faith by George Michael is just short of a greatest hits record for him. I remember when this album was released the fury that it created. It's still such a powerful listen for the big hits + One More Try alone. 4/5.
I mean a great album. I will always enjoy a George Michael album because of his voice and connection with him in queer identity. Long live a legend
Never realized how good a vocalist Michael was. This is a solid pop album that is really well mixed. Even the crooner track, Kissing a Fool was great.
Great pop from a star in mid-explosion.
Quite enjoyed the music and the melodies but the lyrics were a little too horny for me to really enjoy
Definitely his best album. Gonna rate it high cause of the nostalgia.
This album holds up pretty well. It has some great songs on it, all of which still work pretty well today. Some of the music is a bit dated because of the equipment that was used in the recording, but overall it's a charming record. I wouldn't put George Michael as one of the top acts of the 80s the way his album sales would suggest, but he was an excellent song writer. It's kind of crazy that some of his biggest hits were released as singles before this album came out and didn't appear on the album 4/5
haha oh my god he’s so fucking sleazy on this, I love it
Listened to on 7/31/22 4/5 Favorite song: Faith, Father Figure This is a killer debut album and so entertaining! It was easy to listen to and mainly focused on sex and faith
A couple of bangers and a lot of good vibes
Such an awesome album with some classic, killer 80s tracks. What's not to love?!
I'll be honest, some amazing production and the Dolby Atmos remastering really elevated this to add a couple stars to an album I didn't think I would enjoy.
Makes you want to dance. Good album with a few misses
Lots of bops on this album. Understanding the meanings of some of the songs with an adult brain is semi-uncomfy.
One of his finest albums
4.0 - It starts with back-to-back hits of which "Father Figure" is a highlight. It sags a little in the middle and then rebounds at the end with "Monkey." George Michael sounds particularly amazing on "Kissing a Fool."
It's probably fair to say that George Michael was trying to put some clear blue water between his Wham! pop image here. There's some great stuff on this album, and while I think the songwriting is great, this is not a perfect album. There are too many overblown love songs. George Michael's voice suits upbeat and poppy way better.
I remember this one very well from when it was popular in the late 80s. It's darn good stuff. Entertaining, fun, catchy pop. Great voice, outstanding performer, and contagious joy when he performed in the studio or live. Later in life, when I saw him in interviews and in guest appearances on sitcoms and other shows, I grew to appreciate how smart, funny, and cool he was. Really enjoy this album.

Hit machine
This was inescapable in 1987. On some level audacious given the number of styles George Michael attempted, it essentially is a history of pop music in one album. Trivia point - this was the first album by a white artist to top Billboard's R&B album chart. 35 years later it holds up well
This is an album I wouldn’t have listened to much less liked when it first came out. Much too poppy. Years later I feel very differently. There are a lot of really good sounds here. Sounds very fresh. The songs really hold up. Sounds like Harry Styles could have released this yesterday.
Great pop. The album has the sad ballads, the up-tempo songs. (7/10) FT: Faith, One More Try, Father Figure
4.5. Really good all around album, just not quite my fav
"Faith" pretty much sums up pop music from the late 1980s. It's a pop record, of course, but the use of funk, R&B, synth-pop, blue-eyed soul and rock in instrumentation and production makes up for quite an eclectic album, an interesting achievement for George Michael in his first solo effort. Fully produced by himself, it has very personal lyrics tackling topics like sexuality and relationships that resonated internationally at the time and made "Faith" a very influential album that tell the history of his time.
Such a big deal when it came out, ubiquitous video play. It holds up, I think, a pop-crossover genre classic, though as I often feel with this sort of thing, the production is a little to slick, a seamless facade that excludes most of the true funk and soul.
An extra mark because of the intro to Faith GM gets better with age
Yo. Faith fucks forever. RIP George Michael. HE was supposed to be a really stand up guy, I guess he was taking care of tons of people and kept it pretty lowkey. I love to hear that. Album is really solid Imo.
p570. 1987. 4 stars One of the great voices evolves from pop pretty boy into accomplished blue-eyed soul boy/singer/songwriter. Who would have thought the man who wrote Club Tropicana could move on to Father Figure? Not a weak track on this, although you can make a case that I Want Your Sex outstays its welcome and that Look At Your Hands is filler. This still sounds great today. Essential listening.
omg its the careless whisper guy ok there were a few songs on here I hadn't realized I'd heard before but enjoyed them! I jammed along while listening but most of them didn't stick in my head or anything but overall very enjoyable
I had only ever heard of Careless Whisper (which I loved) before this album. I was really pleasantly surprised by how good it was - George Michael has an unbelievable singing voice. It felt at times that the subject matter in the songs was a little samey, but Michael's voice absolutely carries this album to a solid 4/5, soft 5/5 for me.
“Faith”—going on good mood playlist. “Father figure”—daddy owo?? Other standout track: “Monkey.” I hadn’t checked out George Michael before because I despise “Last Christmas” but I see now that I was wrong
Have never listened to this whole album before and was really expecting not to like it. I really hate "I Want Your Sex" but everything else on the album is good to great. This would probably still be a 4 without that song but it really drags it down almost into 3 territory.
This is upper echelon pop music. The production on this album is very nice, tippity top notch.
Hubba bubba
Of its time and starts off strong with the pop hits and then gets into more ballady blue-eyed soul.
Muito bom.
An anthemic and bombastic tale woven with George Michaels signature charm. An 80s pop monolith that stands as one of the decades finest pop music collections.
One more try
This is really good. Definitely would give this album another listen. Or two. "Hand To Mouth" was a favorite.
Honestly, there isn't a song on this album that isn't a highlight. This album is certainly George Michael's strongest of his discography, and each track is built well enough that it can be retooled into a club banger (because this happened already)..and the under-appreciated Part 2 of I Want Your Sex legitimately slaps, with its big horns. Monkey was a powerhouse sleeper hit followed by Kissing a Fool, with its sexy-suave swing beat.
What an important album from the 80s. I can't believe I had only heard two (2!!) songs by George Michael before this. Anyway, a couple songs were meh, but the overall consensus from my brain was that this was a pretty good listen.
This album is a lot of fun. I was an early Wham! fan, neon sweatshirt and all. This album was a surprise and a delight when it came out because it was so different from anything George Michael had done before. It was very apparent at that point that he was a real talent and not just a haircut. It still gives me so much joy (and a little sadness) to hear this album today. It's a pretty flawlessly executed album with some outstanding singles, although some of the songs are stronger than others. For depth and musical quality, I think Listen Without Prejudice is a better album, but this one is probably the more entertaining of the two. Fave Songs: One More Try, Kissing a Fool, Father Figure, Faith, Hard Day, Monkey
Woof, I have never head an album so sexual with such religious branding. I kind of love it?! Hard to tell from a casual listen if it's intentionally ironic or if he just blends the two with no cares for puritan purity, but either way I'm here for it. I don't love the music itself, but it's not a bad time. 4 stars for sheer daring.
Smooth funk sex
Good old style album - takes you on a journey from Rocky songs to ballads, up tempo songs to really well written ones. enjoyable.
Great singer, reference of the '80 music.
I liked this a lot actually more than I thought I would
This is what pop music should sound like. It just does it all really well. This is a total 4/5.
Probably the best cringe album i’ve ever heard (so far..) In my view the arc of the story in this album begins with the church organ in the beginning. It seems to symbolize an almost cartoonish image of george michael immediately falling in love with a girl at first sight…. and desperately wanting to have sex with her lol. The title track seems to be him rehearsing what he wants to say, before he goes up to meet her. The following song is him actually talking to her but telling her what he thinks she wants to hear. George Michael’s adolescent horniness then gets the best of him and he confesses that he mainly just wants to have sex with her in a lyrically cringey, yet electric 2 part song as he faintly reassures her he also loves her. He realizes he messed up and before the conversation is over, he submits his final pleas for her on One More Try. GM fails and spirals down a dark path where he blames her for all of his short comings because she didn’t give him a chance (or bang him). Followed by views on society that seem to blame women not giving attention to those who need/demand it for their ill effects on society. Mainly Jimmy who goes on a shooting spree, and then a woman who lost her mother (and received no attention) and in turn became a prostitute. Monkey paints a picture of a man and woman in a relationship but the woman has an addiction. I interpret this as a metaphor for GM’s love interest being interested in a man who’s giving her the runaround, a mirror image of what GM believes is happening to him. He’s turned off by this and gives up. Kissing A Fool seems to have GM encounter this same woman, years later after the prine of her life. GM sees how she ended up as a waste, and reminds her that she shouldn’t have listened to the people in her circles that told her not not give him a chance. He attempts to reassure her that their lives would be much happier than they currently are if she just had a little faith. Though it seemed like GM had made peace with how everything turned out, the story takes a dark turn on the last track. He goes back to his horny ways, and wants another chance at having sex with her, despite all of the events that transpired. GM is sitting in a bar watching her, waiting for the gin to hit, and wants to make sure her car keys don’t end up in her hand. Sounds like it’s about making sure she’s safe at first, but then he says he’s a gentleman, but even gentlemen can only stand so much. Pretty fucking dark George Michael. This album is pretty dark and lyrically cringeworthy throughout the middle and latter portions despite the upbeat and happy intro/title track “Faith”. “One More Try” is also a beautiful cut. Lyrically I’d have to give this a 2, however the man can sing at a high level and the production is top-tier throughout. I gotta say the execution really brings it up a lot. 4/5, best cringe album i’ve ever heard
Excellent funky pop, great singing. An 80s pop gem, catchy songs. Mostly upbeat.
Faith is a great song and Michael is underrated, in my opinion.
Really good album, not much more I can say.
Really enjoyed it. Good vocals, catchy lines.
A very strong pop album - ok it is a bit boring here and there and it is not in the same league as an 80s Madonna or Prince album but listened to it a lot at the time and can still appreciate it.
Rating: 7/10 Best songs: Faith, Father figure, Hand to mouth
This is a heck of an album. It’s front loaded with the hits…which we’re MONSTER hits when they were release and have stayed in regular radio rotation since. The rest of the record is so eclectic and interesting. George Michael’s vocals are heavily produced, but it work well with the context of the music. This deserves to be mentioned in the conversation of best albums of the 80s.
Solid pop
Some beautiful songs on this album. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the more 80s style songs in the middle, but the others definitely make up for them.
Great album, but not his best. Faith (the song) is exceptional.
I’ve had this album in my car when I was 17 and bought it because I liked the hits, but listening to it in full again I’ve realized how much more there is to love. I really enjoyed A Last Request and Hand to Mouth with this listen. The only track I wasn’t crazy about was I Want Your Sex pt 1. But by far my favorite song from Georgie is Kissing a Fool.
YES
You know you've got something special when you have an album that's outselling MJ and Prince at the time, nonetheless one of the best selling albums in the US. Faith is a mature journey of exploring sexuality and vulnerability as a male in a stark contrast from the approach that glam rock and pop at the time was taking, while also coated in the not-so-subtle internal struggle that GM was having with his own sexual identity. He pushes boundaries by making light around the taboos of sex and religion that conservatives were afraid the youth of the time were "falling into". The self-titled lead track itself is a timeless, fun piece that gets you energized, and remains one of his best to this day. The rest of the record definitely sounds dated, albeit fun and enjoyable, but doesn't hold up against the longevity against the MJ and Prince records that George wanted to rival. You're definitely getting one of the best pop records of the 80's, but it's cursed with staying a product of its time. Favorite Song: Faith Least Favorite: Hand to Mouth
I remember the excitement I felt waiting for this album to be released. All of us Wham fans were a little nervous in case he'd veered off somewhere we didn't like. I was not disappointed, quite the opposite in fact, I loved it immediately. I still love it. George's voice on One More Try still makes me crumble every time I hear it. It's extraordinary. This album is very much part of my youth.
Liked it more than I thought I would Some good tracks hiding amongst the singles… Father Figure … one more try
Normally I dislike late 80s synth sounds, but I feel like they fit weirdly well on this record. A lot, lot of bangers on this record. I just feel like two songs ("Monkey", "Look At Your Hands") pale a little bit when compared to the rest of the record, despite the fact that they've got pretty strong hooks. Favorite tracks: "Father Figure", "Faith", "Kissing a Fool", "One More Try"
Huge fan…. Great 80’s songs back then….
This is a classic I remember listening to all the time with Dad. He had this CD going in the car and we would jam to Faith and Father Figure but there were a few others I remembered as well like One More Try. I think this may be the only George Michael content I've ever heard unless their is a song from another album but I really enjoyed listening to this one. Great album art as well.
Classics week continues! Going into this, I could only remember the title track, which is such a timeless jam. I never picked up on the Bo Diddley influence before today! Some other fantastic songs on here too. The fact that he produced this entirely on his own is CRAZY, and only one co-writer on one song, I love albums like that. Some of it is undeniably goofy though, especially that "I Want Your Sex" song.....that's a doozy. Great album though! Great job George Michael! Every time I hear your name I think of Michael Cera! Favorite tracks: Faith, One More Try, Father Figure, Kissing a Fool. Album art: Very strong. He's tormented as hell, you can tell by how dramatically he's attempting to bury his well-groomed face in his leather jacket. Jokes aside, I do like this one. 4/5
Certainly not my usual style of music. And I thought I would only recognize the title track. But I did recognize a couple other tracks in it. Overall I'm not sure I have much to say about this album. It's very 80s, and George Michael is a great singer, but it's really not my style and doesn't hit as hard as say Michael Jackson. But it's a great album for what it is. It's interesting that the Spotify version makes it look as though 'A Last Request' is the last song on the original version, rather than 'Kissing a Fool.' Listening to Kissing a Fool, it's pretty clear in my mind that it's meant to be a closing track. It one of my favorites on the album because of the big Elvis-esque impact it has, reminding me of Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love With You". A Last Request doesn't work nearly as well as a finale, and I'd consider it one of the weakest songs on the album as a whole if you include it.
Faith the song is a banger \"That's all I wanted But sometimes love can be mistaken for a crime That's all I wanted Just to see my baby's blue eyes shine\" lost on people at the time but nice subtle lyric there I love how he does his own backing vocals throughout I want your sex was described by himself as bad prince but a good song, would not think this came out in the 80s as a pop song, great long song or 2 part song " That the gods believe in nothing So with empty hands I pray" Huge departure from the subject matter of a wham album
Solid 80’s sex rock kinda vibe. Fun listen
Has some really good hits and it is a good album.
Really enjoyed this album, first time listening to it.
Good upbeat album, especially enjoyed the hits that I recognized. How can you not bop along to them! I Want Your Sex absolutely slaps! Other songs were enjoyable as well, up to the last two which seemed to change tone and I didn't like as much. Probably 3.8/5.0
Pleasantly surprised.
Anyone gives this less than three stars clearly has no Faith.
Eines der besten Pop-Alben ever
Good voice good lasting pop songs
I listened without prejudice and am surprised to say this is a 4 star.
Would listen again.
Muy buen disco
Beter dan verwacht
3 and half, really.
Brilliant ! ****
This is a great popalbum by the greatest popsinger in history in my opinion. Catchy songs, controversial topics. Great respect!
About as cheesy as one can expect, but full of classic songs
Better than I expected tbf.
Christian-inspired music goes sexual. Canciones favs: Faith, monkey y Hard day. Mood: Góspel pop horny
Faith is the most popular song on this album by far in terms of plays but Father Figure is very good and probably the best song on this album. 8/10.
pretty fun listen
Nice and up beat
A great pop album with well-written tunes; every song is bop-worthy with a lot of variety. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. STANDOUTS: -Faith -I Want Your Sex -One More Try -Hard Day -Hand Over Mouth -Monkey -Kissing a Fool
Kissing a fool is great.
Incredible.
such a great album, especially for coming out
Well HAWT DAMN! Pretty fun album eh. Phenomenal.
smooth, chill, rather direct on topics but overall well done
Such an incredible album-- yeah it has the hits, but this album showcases George Michael's ability to take sound and make it unique.
Good Record! timeless
A classic I grew up with. Always fun to listen to
Really groovy, a party album for sure
Not bad for a start. Interesting. 4
4/22 This man can sing his heart out. Standout Tracks: One More Try, Hard Day, Hand to Mouth, Kissing a Fool
Great production and George Michael's stellar vocal performances make for great pop music. My only objections are that "I Want Your Sex (Pt 1 & 2)" get excessively horny, and, while a jam, "Father Figure", lyrically, gives me some small amount of pause.
Poptastic … but not really my type
I prefer Limp Bizkit's rendition of Faith :) -- the album is good, but not so much my style
I've never been a fan of George Michael excepting maybe two songs. Nothing to really recommend here, I'm afraid.

Great singer, and by all accounts the loveliest guy, but apart from the lead single - an all-timer pop track - and a couple brighter moments (like Hard Day) the album as a whole has never done much for me.
never a huge fan, but i appreciate him and his music
I enjoyed it but thought listen without prejudice was a lot better
Slick blue eyed soul. Well done.
It’s fine.
Great single - the rest was kinda bleh and samey same
Always get excited when I get a solid, capital P Pop album from this list
Started out with a couple of bangers but trailed off pretty hard after
Man, that had some reallllllly weird ideas what’s hottt. I feel like if you asked who the songs were about, he would’ve said “you don’t know them, they go to a different school”
There's a lot of cheesy over the top 80s moments that don't quite work on here, but Father Figure is such a jam and I'm still annoyed Taylor Swift neutered it.
Just not horny enough for this. Michael bates his soul here which is both its success and a little of it's downfall. Great voice as always, but sometimes feels like he's over sharing his kinks a bit.
Its okay. I don't remember being impressed by this album in the 80s and nothing has changed.
He’s very in tune with how to write and perform pop music. With plenty of gospel/soul inspiration, this set of songs clearly comes from a genuine place in his heart. Some tracks have a sound palette that age better than others. “Father Figure” takes a minimalist approach that makes the 80’s soundfonts feel tasteful, clearly a reference track for every pop artist pulling from 80’s sounds today. Other songs? Not so much. “I Want Your Sex” is written well enough but my goodness the whirls and wobbly synths, the upright electric drumming. It’s like a Prince song without the charisma to break through its sonics. This sort of dichotomy will remain through the entirety of the project: the louder and more electronic, the more grading it is on the ears. The more subtle and quiet the song is, the more you can feel Michael’s tender intentions and brilliant penmanship. “One More Try” soars with a longing that feels heightened with the knowledge that he was still in the closet at the time. Those high notes are equal parts despair and desire. Very pretty song, probably my favorite in the album. “Monkey” being a term for drug addiction and not another man’s dick was quite disappointing to learn. I might keep that in my head cannon. Outside of the swanky “Kissing A Fool” these songs stick on their rails, with no real instrumental or compositional surprises. That’s not to say theyre bad. Theyre just aired out, long-play pop songs. 3/5 soft monkeys
Couple good tracks
Two songs worth the 3
naja geht so, bisschen Horny der George.
Bin nun horny
An extra star for the sexiness
Sounded great. Subject matter was a little one note.
dudo que lo vuelva a escuchar alguna vez.
George Michael literally only wants one thing and it’s fucking disgusting Surely the UKs answer to Michael Jackson, enjoyed this way more than I expected
Very enjoyable album but I do feel some of the songs last a bit longer than they should and don’t really go anywhere 3.5
1st half better than the second but still a good album
80's pop. Not much else to say 3/5
Yeah I'm white. Yeah Faith is a very catchy song. Really don't like I want your sex. rest is ok
My first thought was, “Cool. I’ve never listened to a whole George Michael album.” My second thought was, “I know most of these songs.” So I guess a good exercise in understanding that certain pop idols are famous for a reason. Still, though many of these songs were recognizable and enjoyable for me, I don’t think that George Michael is necessarily somebody that I’m going out of my way to listen to. I think I might equate him to Harry Styles as a contemporary comparison. Musically competent, important for pop cultural reasons, but not necessarily somebody that I am looking to have more of in my canon.
Faith Father Figure I Want Your Sex (Parts 1 & 2)
The only thing I can think of to say about this particular album is "eh? That was okay." Some good songs, some pretty mid songs.
honestly, peak pop that pushes subcultures forward and moves the edge
Father Figure
UHhhhhh, not terrible, he's an interesting songwriter, but awfully inconsistent.
Highlights: Faith, Kissing A Fool, I Want Your Sex, Father Figure. In a nutshell: people get ready... I completely forgot Faith was a debut! And it's a decent solo debut. Starting the title track with a sample of Freedom (the Wham song) played on a church organ was a nice touch. I Want Your Sex, although lyrically clunky, was as important then as it is now. A song exploring sex positivity, released in the 80s- when AIDS/HIV/STI awareness was at an all time high- was not only daring, it was necessary. It's front loaded but it has a lovely closing track - Kissing A Fool. Overall: 5/10
Despite a majority of these songs being released as singles, only really the first 3 songs still get radio play, and from listening to this, it’s pretty clear why. It takes a bit of a nosedive after those three songs. Not to say it’s bad, but it’s not really special. 3/5
Lindo
Guys, I think George Michael wants to have sex with someone. Can someone help him with that, please? Anyone? Oh wait, that's not possible anymore. That's unfortunate. You know what's not unfortunate though? This album being on the list. I mean, you've gotta have George Michael on here, right? This album does have some of his biggest hits. Said hits, by the way, are quite good! The title track is iconic for good reason. WAY better than the Limp Bizkit version. "Father Figure" is pretty good. "One More Try" is nice. The others are all pretty solid. All of the songs come together to form an album that is pretty solid all things considered. The album is a little repetitive lyrically, but the music is good all throughout. It is VERY 80s though. I will be honest about one more thing though. It has been a while since I heard it, but from what I remember, I definitely prefer Listen Without Prejudice. I just like that album's sound more than this one's. I think that album's aged a bit better, you know? But, I do still like Faith. It's a nice 80s pop album with some good tunes. High 3/5.
It's got a sound that's kind of cool and also kind of not. But overall I guess it is decent. I honestly don't know if my rating for this album is too harsh or much too generous. Favorite track: "Hard Day"
Parts of Faith are so glossy and era-defining that they can feel trapped inside their own late-’80s perfection. This is not an album of mystery. It is an album of execution. If you want mess, ambiguity, or emotional danger of the kind that later defined Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, this record can feel a little too eager to conquer, a little too aware of how good-looking it is.
Rating:★★★ It's alright. A couple of songs like Father Figure and Faith were decent, the rest were a bit too much for me.
I can understand why this hit big commercially, particularly in the 1980s. I certainly think it has merit. But I’ll never be a big fan of this horny, R&B pop sound. Just not my bag.
There are some tracks with a nice jazzy atmosphere, but overall it feels like the definition of mainstream ’80s pop. George Michael is obviously talented, though his style doesn’t fully click with me.
I love Freedom '90 and a couple Wham! songs, but never listened to a full album. I've come to understand that George Michael can be just as horny as his main inspo, Prince, but is only half as funky. I think his best work on this album is when he's doing the melancholy later Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins thing, as his writing is very good and he can sing well. Hand to Mouth and A Last Request are huge standouts in both of those regards. But the Prince thing he tries to do in tracks like I Want Your Sex is outshined too heavily by... well, Prince, for one. Hard act to follow, especially when the band on this album kinda sounds like a Hal Leonard sheet music demo track sometimes. I'd call it a 3.5, I enjoyed the songwriting and his voice most.
Still hearing Freddie, and definitely hearing a lot more Michael Jackson. Listening to this after ‘Listen Without Prejudice’ has me understanding why that record left critics and audiences a little cold - this is just so much more fun and colorful. It’s sexy, polished pop perfection. It would also benefit greatly from being 10 minutes shorter. A lot of these songs really take their time. Very 80s still, and I don’t know if I’ll revisit in full, but I do have a better appreciation for George Michael as a pop tower of the time.
WHAM! Did not make it through the HOUR AND FORY FIVE MINUTES OF MUSIC but not bad
Kinda groovy
Has a couple decent songs. The whisper singing gets old. A little over-produced and sounds a bit too rooted in the 80's. 2.5/5 Probably won't listen again
The music is not bad, I prefer the songs with more funk in them, the slow songs are totally forgettable. However, it is not something I would hate to have on the background while doing something else. 2,5/5.
bwaa... een beetje george gaat er altijd in... maar een volledige plaat is net iets te
A bit of a B-Side Prince, but there were some nice moments throughout. 3/5
80s musak!!! It is over produced, but Robbie Williams does not exist without this guy. So it is good enough for me. 6.5/10 Top song Faith
Pop relajado entretenido alegre
Man, these lyrics are interesting. They’re metaphorical at times, but they all sound like sexual innuendos. The production and music was clean, even though there was a lot of 80’s cheese on this one.
For monkey and faith alone
Jazzy pop. Almost in the Prince vein.
I really struggled with this one, i can see ehy it has so many 5's but also so many 1's. Lets start with the good. Faith is a banger and there are some good pip songs here. George's voice is superb and stands the test if time. Some of the production and orchestration is really good and i was surprised at the variety in music i found in it. However, the lyrics were mostly awful. Ok, George, we get it, you were very horny writing this. But at least have some variety or subtlety. This is just a teenage boy howling at the moon. And the 80's touches date very badly. At times it seemed so sparse in comparison to the other aspects i had to check i was getting all of it.
His own unique style undergirds a quality outing that has a few classics but also has some mundane repetition.
I remember what a big deal this album was when it came out. I don't imagine I ever listened to it all the way through back in the day, but the videos and singles were ubiquitous. Generally, I'd say those hits like "Faith" and "Father Figure" capture the spirit of the whole: infectious fun when they're not trying to take themselves to seriously.
it wasn't bad. I enjoyed listening to it.
gay
Faith is like a well-tailored suit: it fits perfectly, looks sharp, and makes you feel good wearing it, but you know, it’s not going to start a fashion revolution. George Michael proves he can carry a solo album without the Wham! baggage, delivering hits like “Faith” and “Father Figure” that still make you want to strut around your living room. That said, the album has a tendency to play it safe. There’s a pleasant groove running through almost every track, which is enjoyable, but after a while, it’s like eating the same dessert every night, even if it’s chocolate mousse, you start craving something unexpected. Still, the charm, smoothness, and sheer ‘good vibes’ factor make it easy to forgive the little sameness. 7/10
Freaky ahh
Good few bangers
Eh
super horny where is the faith
HELL YEAH BROTHER. That’s some baby-making music right there.
80er reinster Form. Damals gern gehört, aber recht schnell vergessen. Boy George kam besser rüber.
Divertido y sexy
A bunch of pop bangers and certainly a major hit for Gorgy boy. It's a little dated to more modern listening, but when it came out, this album was inescapable.
É um disco com momentos muito inspirados e legais, porém, algumas músicas se entendem muito. Pula Unicrom.
Pas beaucoup écouté mais je n’ai pas bcp apprécié. J’ai trouvé ça un peu trop classique et lisse
Variety: 4 Adequacy: 3 Listenability: 2 Uniqueness: 2 Emotionality: 2 = 2.6 rounded up to a 3 "We won the race, got out of the place/ Went back home, got a brand-new face for the boys on MTV (boys on MTV) But today the way I play the game has got to change, oh yeah (oh yeah)/ Now I'm gonna get myself happy" George Michael ha always been a bit of an enigma to me. His hits from this, and Wham ( was "Last Christmas even a thing in the U.S.?) were all over the radio as a kid, but catchy as they were he always seemed more like a character than a real person. Like I remember seeing Madonna, Michael Jackson, even Prince I think do interviews. But never Michael. Maybe I missed them. I can totally understand why he might have wanted to avoid any scrutiny or hard questions at this stage in his career though. But I don't think I even knew he was British until I was in my late teens or later. I can say for certain I only know his hits. THE TRACKS Side one "Faith" - In retrospect, the church organs on this are pretty hilarious. This remains as toe-tappingly great as it ever was. The thing that strikes me know is how sparse it sounds. Like in my mind there's a bit more going on, but this is almost like anti-wall of noise production. I hear this one once in a blue moon which makes me wonder if Michael is slowly disappearing from pop culture. "Father Figure" - This one I never hear anymore, but it was ALL over the place when I was a kid. I distinctly remember getting the opening confused with "These Dreams" by Heart with their similar openings and would take me a few seconds to catch on to which was which. Very atmospheric, and has a lot more going on production-wise. Could almost be something off of Madonna's True Blue album. "I Want Your Sex" - If the last one was his attempt at keeping up with Madonna, this one gives Prince a run for his money. I do remember this one getting a lot of news coverage from outraged moral majority types. That did not stop it from becoming a mainstay though. At least on MTV. It's crazy though ( I'm listening to the song via that video right now) how ludicrously tame the video and song is by even the standards of just 5 years later, much less nowadays. But I guess Michael's supermodels walked so that Little Nas X could run towards giving Satan a lap dance. "One More Try" - This one's title didn't ring a bell, but then as soon as it started it all came back. Damn, four hits in a row on teh first side. Michael in his soulful ballad mode. Much more Whammy than anything else so far. Side two "Hard Day" - Side two puts us in the desert, more or less, as I 'm not familiar with any of these I think. Maybe "Monkey"? But am I just thinking of the Peter Gabriel song? This one was fine, but felt a lot more generic, like it could have been performed by any number of funk, tech-forward R&B acts from the period. That synth bass lines dates this pretty badly as well. Imagine this slowed way down with traditional instrumentation and Sade singing maybe, and "Hand to Mouth" - Ugh... this Casio preset style beat is not doing the song any favors. Also not sure Michael has the gravitas to handle a social ills song like this. "Inner City Pressure" by Flight of the Conchords I can even take a bit more seriously than this. At least he sounds earnest? "Look at Your Hands" - Ooof. That sax. I'm usually pretty forgiving of stuff that sounds very much of its era. That can be charming most of the time, but I'm sneaking up from behind and pushing this one off the cliff to fall into the garbage dump with all the Steve Winwood and Roxette deep cuts. "Monkey" - Ok, yeah. So this one I do remember. The metaphor here for sure sailed way over my head as a kid, and I must have been very confused about why in the world a ( somewhat) serious sounding song about a monkey was doing on the radio. High energy here, and a lot going on. It's fine, just in a perfect world there's a very literal music video that maybe re-used the sets from "Rio" where MIchael hunts through the jungle for his zookeeper girlfriend who has absconded with a chimp. Bonus points for the monkey sound effects, but this is firmly in the middle ground between "Tarzan Boy" and "Shock the Monkey". Either go full on silly or be pretentious. This sort of thing doesn't work when taken at face value. "Kissing a Fool" - Was surprised to read this is a Michael original. While not my thing, it's a perfectly decent pastiche of a jazzy, loungy torch song. I could see Michael performing this in a cameo in some network tv show set in the 1940s in a nightclub scene or something. WILDLY detached from anything else on the album though. Did he ever do a whole album of stuff like this? HIGHLIGHTS - "Faith" - "Father Figure" - "I Want Your Sex" - "One More Try" MIDLIGHTS - "Hard Day" - "Monkey" - "Kissing a Fool" LOWLIGHTS - "Hand to Mouth" - "Look at Your Hands" FINAL THOUGHTS Holy shit was this album front-loaded. And a ton of variety in styles. Very solid showcase for Michael's versatility. Man could do it all. Sucks that I think his career, and life, would get sidetracked for such dumb reasons, but I think he eventually came back around to becoming well-respected legend, at least maybe more so in the UK. I only remember the one other song from his next album being big - "Freedom", but peaking ahead I see that album is also on this list so must have been WAY bigger across the pond. As solid as the first half of this was, the magic of nostalgia wore very thin, and was completely torn away by the second half. I'll probably always tap my fingers on the steering wheel when "Faith" comes on in the future, but not sure I ever need to revisit this one. PLAYLIST ALTERATIONS - That first side is the only part worth saving FURTHER LISTENING - True Blue by Madonna - Parade by Prince - Whitney by Whitney Huston - I Feel for You by Chaka Khan
447/1089 - This sounds very similar to the Prince album I had a few days ago. I think I'd rather have a Wham! album over solo George Michael.
George Michael is too sexy
I really wanted to love this album, it’s undeniably influential and important, and the title track, “Father Figure”, “One More Try” and “Monkey” are all-out pop/RnB classics, but two things really hold me back here: 1. “I Want Your Sex” could’ve been up there with the aforementioned songs, if it didn’t go 4 minutes (or 8 if you count the bonus tracks) past what it needed to, & 2. The second half, while not bad, really doesn’t hold a candle to the first. Even still, I had a good time, and if you were ever curious about what an 80’s Prince album would be like if it was more gay, I can’t point to you a better album.
Other than Faith I found myself missing the synthpop of Wham.
Teenage girls in 1991 when they realized all these songs were probably about other men:
Pretty good! Better than the last one.
For every great George Michael song, there are like six absolutely terrible ones. Great voice and persona but he's just very limited by the shitty 80s bag of tools he's generally drawing from. High highs and low lows. Faith is awesome, Father Figure is good, and the rest blows. I do like the part in the otherwise embarassing 'I want your sex' when he feels the need to specify 'sex is natural, sex is fun, sex is better when its one on one.' George Michael on record as NOT an orgy guy. Who knew.
Dayum! Didnt know how much George Michael and Prince had in common. IMO, Michael is just more mainstream? This is funky and weird. I liked this far more than I expected. Once you get past the 80s sounds, its a really diverse set of tracks and Michael is a fantastic singer Favorite tracks: Hard Day, Faith, Kissing A Fool.
George Michael prince impression 2.7/5
I know how huge this album was in the 80s. It kind of held up. It's a fun, sexually charged listen, and some of the songs still sound pretty good today. There are going to be a lot of Michael Jackson comparisons, and it's hard not to hear the similarities in some of these tracks. Synths are really cheesy sometimes, but usually the songs are catchy. "Faith" is an all time classic. Standout tracks are "Faith" "Hard Day" and "Kissing A Fool" Overall it's fun but a little too pop/ballad for my liking. Some great songs though. 3/5 for me.
Sonido bastante ochentero. No es mucho mi estilo. Aun así, la producción es buena.
I would love a remaster that tones down the synthesizers.
very 80s and I like it! Not every track is a #1 hit but overall it’s fun to listen to
I’ve always loved Faith the song. The album was OK, I found it a bit dated and the last few songs were unremarkable.
Was debating a possible fourth star, despite some unevenness (could this songs have been a different order?), until "Monkey" arrived. That song has not aged well, and I'd forgotten about the peripheral primal screams. Yikes.
Positives: impressive amount of hit songs on one album Negatives: very questionable lyrics at times, “I Want Your Sex” was bad enough but part 2 and 3 were completely unnecessary
By the time George Michael struck out on his own with Faith, he wasn’t just shedding the glossy pop skin of Wham!—he was recalibrating what mainstream pop stardom could sound like in the late ’80s. The album plays like a carefully curated tour through radio’s most bankable sounds: sleek pop, simmering R&B, dancefloor flash, and a touch of adult contemporary polish. It’s a record that rarely takes risks, but it knows exactly how to deliver. The title track, “Faith,” kicks things off with a rockabilly strut that feels both retro and radio-ready, while “Father Figure” slows things down into a smoldering groove, its chorus sticking like perfume in the air. “One More Try” aims for emotional grandeur, a kind of blue-eyed soul ballad that lands somewhere between torch song and quiet confession—think heartbreak filtered through piano keys and late-night introspection. Elsewhere, “Hand to Mouth” injects a bit of kinetic energy into the mix, its danceable rhythm anchored by crisp piano flourishes that give the track a welcome sense of urgency. If Faith doesn’t always dig deep, it compensates with craft. Michael’s control—over his voice, his image, and the soundscape itself—is undeniable. The album feels less like a bold artistic leap and more like a perfectly executed statement of intent: George Michael, fully formed, stepping into the spotlight and making sure you stay there with him.
Great 80’s pop album. Classic. Some of the lyrics are questionable but the music is great.
Okay, I'll admit to enjoying this one!! Equal amounts of pop, funk and cheese. Impossible to hear the title track without thinking of Reeves & Mortimer's Stars In Their Eyes sketch! 🤣
Let it be known that Mr. Michael really, *really* wants your sex.
Good tunes. Some lively music and some mellow. Good mix.
Good artist. Good music. Unique style and sound. Died way to young.
Really let myself down by reading some reviews before listening. I was familiar with the title track before listening to this, but what really got me was that review that said this whole album was greasy and sex obsessed. I wonder if that user is a mormon born in like, 1972 or something. This album is so neat and tidy it's almost sterile. Even the song titled "I Want Your Sex" listens like a health class video on why safe sex can be good for you. "Best enjoyed 1 on 1?" Fuckin' casual. GM kind of comes off like a baritone on some of these tracks, his voice has a fullness that really gives these tracks some richness. I found the percussion lacking on this album, so it was nice to have a bit more for my ear to hang onto. Besides the vocals and bass (which needs to be brought up more in the mix imo), the production almost comes off as tinny. It sounds incredibly thin, which is why I think R&B inspired white boy pop just doesn't work as well as the music its trying to emulate. Overall, it's not a bad album. The bass lines are simple but groovy, the lyrics are fun enough and the vocals are breathy and full. I was expecting some more grooves, some more hooks and a lot more raw, sexual aggression.
I really liked the first 3 songs or so. I really did not like Look at Your Hands
My mother would be so proud of me for listening to this today. I have not heard the title track in a hot minute. It’s just as I remember it. If I was a teenager in 1987, I probably would’ve eaten this up, but I have to say, I was sitting here with a grimace on my face. I don’t think it’s a bad track at all, I’m just not an 80s british boy band type of gal. I say that knowing full well I jam out to Wham quite regularly, so I do have some appreciation for George Michael. Father figure is again, an alright track, but not my thing. It’s just too slow and soft for me. I unfortunately need just a little bit more. The vocals are great, and I have appreciation for the music. Also, the lyrics of this one are slightly creepy. I want your sex was one I really didn’t think too much about, except for the fact both parts came to almost 10 minutes which was too long for a track like this. I actually liked One More Try. It sounded like an 80s Romcom which I actually appreciated. Going in to Hard Day, I enjoyed the fact that it was slightly more upbeat! Hand to mouth had some good vibes going for it. I also really liked Look at Your Hands. Monkey was just really weird to me. There’s a metaphor there that I can’t quite grasp. It was fun and upbeat though! Kissing a fool was slow, but again sounded like it was out of a romcom. Closing it off with A last request was alright. Not my favourite album ever, but it wasn’t horrid. 3.5/5 ⭐️ 68/1089
So weird to imagine Kelly Kapowski being into this.
Didn't hold up well. Some songs save it for 3
Taattua Yrjö-Mikaelia
Kyllähän se Yrjö ihan laulaa osaa. Vähän siirappimainen meininki, mutta se kai oli tavoitekin.
nothing special, but groovy
The dude was talented. He could write catchy music and there’s catchy stuff here. It’s also mindless. That said I give it 3.49
Not bad but also not my favorite
Oh, I giggled a lot re-listening to this one. - Why is George sniffing his armpit? - The album has I Want Your Sex pts 1, 2 and 3, set up like a very serious prog album ala Genesis or Pink Floyd, and then - "Phwoar...sex!" a lot. Look, this is great, a fun album and was kind of ubiquitous in 1987/88. Quaint how naughty it seemed, according to commercial telly and radio at least - particularly when much ruder stuff was already out. I guess the PMRC kerfuffle had a long tail? Title track continues to be an all time pop banger, the ballads are actually excellent, and as a whole the album holds together really well.
Pretty solid stuff. An artist I appreciate more now than at the time.
The rebellion of a former pop puppet. Songs play with extremes.
Chock full of hits, this is a pretty good pop record with nice production throughout. Definitely an album of the 80s, and one of the definitive albums of the 80s. The title song still sounds good, although it really sounds like Footloose by the way of Freddy Mercury. But all-in-all this album doesn't really age that well and leans more toward cringe. Which is unfortunate, because there are signs that Michael can really belt out some vocals. But the songwriting just doesn't hold up. Why can't you set your monkey free?
Definite twinges of nostalgia for this sound. Those 80s synths and George’s vocals take me back to my childhood. Father Figure is an eternal fave. I can’t give this more than a 3.5/5, the rest of the album blurs into more of the same. It’s good, but nothing that grabs me.
I'm just not the target audience for this one (as much as I've always wanted to be a gay man).
Gute Unterhaltung.
Sign me up for an album that is full of songs like Monkey. That song changed my world
Some good tracks on this but also some stuff that isn't as great.
Some good songs gs
Good pop/dance music
223/1001 George Michael - Faith Heard before? ❎ Revisit? ❎ George Michael undoubtedly has a great voice and overall was a top bloke, but this feels dated and the production just isn't my thing unfortunately. Faith is still a great track though.
I’ve never forgot my mom playing this album for her Vietnam war vet brother in the late 80s. He was appalled. Not as bad as I expected.
There are some all time classics and then there's the rest of it
George Michael is too horny bro
Vocals on One More Try are incredible. 3/5
A little dull and Poppy to my tastes
Nice production. I didn’t know GM played so many instruments. It’s a good album
I always found George Michael a bit clingy and his music too poppy. It's nice to listen to now and then. I don't switch off when his music is playing, but I don't necessarily seek it out either. I feel the same way about this album. 3/5
6/10 – Decent
A solid 80s pop album with some big hits. 2.75/5.
Perfect example of why I participate. Not an album I’d wake up one morning and choose, but it was nice. We all know the big hits, but the whole album is well done. George is a good writer and a great vocalist. RIP George.
It's not bad just couldn't really get into something like this. Maybe we a few more listens. Great voice though
Lots of songs about Sex, some real 80’s classics. Like the popular songs but not the whole album
Mediocre
A hiding-in-plain-sight homoerotic treatise on sex and love that features a handful of the best pop songs of the eighties, one hell of a singer and some unintentionally funny moments. Case in point: Michael belting ‘Sex! with! Me!’ over and over again in, naturally, ‘I Want Your Sex pt. 1’. The middle section of the album is pure filler, but there are enough singles to make up for it. For my money, ‘One More Try’ is the best of the bunch, evoking no less than the romantic slow skate at an 80’s roller rink.
Faith is a tune. The rest of the album doesn’t live up to it. There are a couple of other songs I quite liked. The rest was either too strange or too repetitive for me. Fun to listen to but not something I’ll come back to. Fav song: Faith Least fav: Monkey
Cannot convey how much energy putting Faith on first thing this morning gave me- burst out of bed like I was in a music video. The rest of the album is a bit underwhelming in comparison. In fact I'd go as far to say I don't need the rest of them... but I gotta have faith! Favourite song: Faith Least: Monkey
Old fashioned love song
Definitely had it's moments in the form of the hits, but the in-between lost me. 3.5/5
Better than Coldplay
A very horney album.
I can't believe my parents let me have this record when I was 12. It's almost as horny as I was back then.
Pure 80's hits
Very 80s. Creepy. Mostly fun beats. A little boring
First album I’ve really known. I love some George. But this is such a mixed bag. 2 or 3 great songs but the ballads are pretty dirge like. A man flexing his voice and his song writing. He’d done better with wham and there was better to follow
Se nota que fue a la iglesia y aparte andaba horny. No lo puedo odiar porque es el jorge miguel, pero este disco no está taaaan fuego como el mundo nos hizo creer jsjaja
Mano, GM gone too soon. Peak 80s faves: Monkey, Kissing a Fool
Here Comes Treble! The Bluth Company! This album conjures up so much, lol. This album is a great example of something that was EVERYWHERE when I was in my early teens and I would have told you I HATED it at the time, but I really have fond memories of it and the music still stands up. (I will admit, however, that my memories of these songs are not hurt by the age I was at the time he was putting supermodels in the videos for these songs.) I had never heard the second and third parts of "I Want Your Sex" before. I remember "One More Try" but had no idea what its name was. This album had some bangers. This gets higher than a 3 from me, but not quite a 4.
Certainly not my typical bag, although my early relationship with my now wife did contain a fair bit of George's greatest hits so I was familiar with some of these songs, including the pre-emptive cover of Limp Bizkit's Faith. The first half of the album in particular is pretty solid and I had quite a fun time with the album as a whole. I also find it hard to be mad at him as he was such a top bloke and all round nice guy!
5.5/10
3.5. I could almost quote like 3 different 80’s album reviews for this one. It’s overall a good listen, but it feels like it’s very much either fishing for the big hit or justifying it with a full album. Faith is the showstopper, and the rest of the album is just exists to make sure that song takes off. Going with a 3 because while listening Alec, Carly and I started getting heated while playing Catan so my memory might be skewed by the rife political situation that was transpiring.
Starts off so strong with Faith and Father Figure, but then slowly drops off from there. I was caught off guard by how many songs I didn’t know, which was weird for an album that featured like seven singles. George Michael is becoming an artist who’s hits I really enjoy but I’m not really interested in much else. But I would be willing to give this album another listen.
It's probably too long, and it's seriously uncool to like George Michael, but this isn't a bad collection of pop songs. Sleezy, sleezy pop songs.
Okay daddy
Quand même bon, je dirais pas que je le réécouterais de sitôt, soyons raisonnable
Bueno
I thought Faith was a pretty good album. This certainly isn't my first time listening to Faith. A couple of years back, a friend of my mom recommended that i listen to this album and back then i thought it was pretty good for what it was and my opinion has not changed with this second listen. It certainly is a very 80s album with plenty of 80s synths, bass and vocals. The music here was pretty good with all of the songs feeling quite catchy. The lyrics are absolutely bizarre and might turn a lot of people away from this album, i personally didn't find them too much of an obstacle for my enjoyment but i still thought they were weird. All in all, still a pretty good album. Best Song: Hard Day Worst Song: A Last Request (I Want Your Sex Pt. 3)
Quite good.
So Many Hits!
Own it.
It is a mediocre album.
Horniest album I have ever heard.
the second half of the album is so much better
Decent some really good songs some boring
Eh it’s good just not my jam 3/5
what if Prince was white and british
Corny in an 80's way. 3/5
This was a lot of fun to listen to! It's obviously full of pop and funk, but the slower songs were also done well and added a good variety of tracks.
Love Faith. Father figure is fun. I want your sex is an awkward listen when your kids walk into the room. Even more so when your wife does and doesn’t comply. Wanted to like this more than I did. 3.5 but not quite a round up to 4 for me.
Big radio play material. The dude was a star, but not in my world. Great voice. Sorry he died I guess. Messed with the Bull, got the horns.
This album felt real nostalgic, real 80s movie vibes. Cinematic energy for sure
