Blitzkrieg Bop Beat on the Brat Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue Loudmouth Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World

Not my favorite

Punk! Not quite enough variance to be five starts I think.

It's like they recorded the same song 10 times but with slightly different lyrics. Blitzkrieg bop is nice tho.

This is a Masterpiece from the first beat of “Blitzkrieg Bop” through “I Want to be Your Boyfriend” until the last lingering guitar chord of “Today yr love Tomorrow the World”. They are punk personified and influential beyond their wildest dreams. So simple yet so different from anything before. Do a lot of songs sound similar? Sure, that’s the reason for the 4 stars, but how else are you going to invent a genre?

One of the most influential albums to all the melodic folk punk emo indie shit I lived for in the 80’s and early 90’s. The songs are so perfectly constructed with the minimalism of 4 chords and their no fuss production. But they are also notable for their catchy and accesible melodies. The Ramones continue to work in the TikTok era with youngster's 10 second attention span …

Mid-70’s punk

High energy from the jump, sustained through the close. Great throwback that’s still fun today.

Sometimes you just need dumb punk rock

Niiiice

Bit repetitive but strong songs and not long too

Quintessential early punk rock. Simple chords hammering at a fast pace. Standout is leadoff "Blitzkrieg Bop". Every other track is very derivative from then on, but it's not really a bad thing when you're in the mood for that sound. Lyrics and violent and edgy. Other favorite is "Havana Affair" which has a really fun riff.

Many of the songs sounded like Bletzkrieg Bop starting over again, and I was sort of disappointed when it wasn't. The Ramones are loud and fun, though, and it was a loud and fun time. 3.75 stars.

Easy to ear. Sound just as a Classic

Fire album

Just bangers all the way down. 29 minutes of raw, unfiltered energy.

Beneath the three chord songs, these guys could write a hook.

OK look, I know it's not the complete works of Shakespeare but, ladies and gentlemen, I give you, THE RAMONES 😅 💪 💪 Norman Wisdom, Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee, good times.

I love a band t-shirt me, but since I'm a snob, my least favourite thing is people wearing band t-shirts of bands they don't listen to. Feast your eyes upon every teenage girl wearing a Ramones t-shirt from primark. Do they love the Ramones? Or is the t-shirt just cool? As a former teenage girl myself, I'll let you in on a secret, the t-shirt is cool. And hey, now I've listened to the Ramones and I loved it! I might go get me one of them t-shirts.

Classic, fun, good times. 02-30-2026

Why play many songs when few do trick

Simple, monotonous, but a great classic. If it knows what it can be doing well, why change it? 4/5

fast loud and punchy. songs are suuper short and can get repetitive but I was too busy jamming to really care, also the cover is iconic

Album che ha fondato il punk, quindi solo ler questo si merita 4 stelle, ma titte le canzoni sono uguali

Well, hard to think of an even bigger classic than this, especially given how much space is given to the whole punk genealogy in this collection. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I've never listened to a full Ramones album before this, just whatever I heard on radios or friend's houses. I'm a bit shocked that there's only one Ramones album in this project, but this seems like a great selection, and I'm also impressed how...tuneful...they are/were (especially "I wanna be your boyfriend", but largely throughout), despite the cranked up bpm throughout (amazing that their live shows were so much faster than this album). I particularly enjoyed the opening trio of radio classic "Blitzkrieg bop", the hilariously relatable (but of course violent) "Beat on the brat" and "Judy is a punk"; the album turns a bit more monotonic punk-style after that, but still quite listenable for a non-punk-fan (and there's something about "53rd & 3rd" that's very catchy, and despite its much heavier subject matter made me think of Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Thirty dirty birds"). Very impressive too that they managed to crank this out in a week and well under $7K; what a bargain for an incredibly influential record.

Classic. I probably would have rated it highr in 1976 👍

Great album, cohesive with great singles and good to listen to front to back!

Perfect execution of their vision for rock and roll. I just don’t love listening through it front to back.

algunos buenos clásicos, pero termina siendo un poco monótono escuchar todo el álbum

respect!

Solid early punk guitar

Belter off the bat CtrlC Crtl V for the short of attention.

Ramones, Ramones ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Album #14. What can you say about the pioneers of punk here. This is a great, short, punky album that predates the 1977 birth of punk itself, so respect has to be given for it being such a trailblazing album. Is it one of my favourite punk albums of all time? Probably not. It’s very one note and quite monotonous to listen to at times, but also quite enjoyable because it is what it is, similar to Motörhead yesterday. It just is what it is. It’s so groundbreaking that it has to be respected and taken on its own merit. While a lot of the songs do sound the same, the subject matter jumps around wildly, from Nazism to drugs to surprisingly tender moments like I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, which is probably my favourite song on the album. It’s also very short and snappy, so it gets points for that too. I don’t really see myself listening to this much in the future. It doesn’t necessarily contain my favourite kind of punk sound. I much prefer Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, which I think took the formula of this and brought it to a different level, though I know a lot of people would disagree with me there. But yeah, the lyrics are great, the riffs are good, and it’s a short, sweet, punky album that was way ahead of its time and completely groundbreaking. It paved the way for one of my favourite genres of music, so it definitely has to be respected.

Short songs, classic and fun

Bara pophits efter pophits… En klassiker och således 5/5. För mig är det lite gammal skåpmat- även om Ramones tre första är helt oantastliga. Världens hårdaste popband

Iconic and undeniable album, with a hugely influential sound and one of the best opening tracks. However, even though it's less than 30 minutes long, listening to it front-to-back does get a little old with each song after I Wanna be your Boyfriend blurring into one. 7/10

Still sounds awesome 50 years later. The blueprint for so much music after it. Solid classic important album

Fourteen tracks in less than 30 minutes, all readily representing the raucous romp that is the Ramones. Now, if they could just learn a few more chords...

Despite loving early Television / Talking Heads era CBGS and some UK punk, I'd never actually taken the plunge with the Ramones. I had a feeling that they were a band for which you had to be there at the time. In fact they make reasonable sense FIFTY years later, not that much guitar / rock based music is permeating through to the mainstream nowadays. The main criticism here seems to be that all the songs sound the same, which I can't get at all and just proves that most people here don't give albums and their legacy the benefit of the date. Listen to an r&b album from the 2000s and you'll find that the overall sound is consistent throughout the album, same with rap / pop etc there's a sound thats been consciously decided on or produced. Here the sound is guys with the standard rock tools of drums bass guitar and vocals, with a surprising amount coming in the form of harmonies and backing vocals here, possibly due to their seeming love of Motown. Pop is also obviously a predominant love for them too, as this is utterly hook laden, I mean every short song is packed with ideas and hooks, not just in the chorus. I am amazed how good this is and can't believe I've assumed I wouldn't like it. One review from a serious music fan (IDK what the f*CK most of you are or what you're doing here when you can only hold albums in contempt unless they blow you away in ONE listen so just give ONE star) on RYM said that the proof was that listening to it today it still makes him smile and I know exactly what he means. So shit yes they use the same mix of instruments on each song but no way do the songs all sound the same. They're so charming and sing alone and cute and fun. Open your minds dudes, cos albums like this deserve time and respect. They changed music and woke everybody who cared about music like a shot in the arm.

Oh yeh Everything here is iconic. The cover, the vibe especially the music. I'm not a punk expert but this songs go back to the 50's and early sixties. They are short but very sharp. They are tough but very beautiful. Some really really beautiful. Simple, to the point, and effective. It's not the best punk album I've heard (I'll give the edge the clash's debut) but this one is very close. A high 4!

Fantastic

The Ramones’ self-titled is a fun little reminder of how far punk has come -and how little it’s actually changed. It’s stripped down to the bone. Just dudes exercising demons in the studio, no frills, no filler, no bullshit. That nonstop, driving energy and those buzzing guitars still hit something primal, even 40–50 years later. It’s not trying to be smart or polished - it just is, and that’s kind of the whole point.

Sure it feels a bit repetitive, but you're tapping your toes for the full 30 minutes.

Great; some classic hits

a vibe. yes the songs do have a similar sound but i am enjoying the fast pace, upbeat rock and guitar - hits the spot

Alright! Songs etched in my brain from long ago. The style, structures, guitar/bass/drums are FINE. Some lyrics are cool, some I could do without (eg Beat On The Brat). I was going to say the vocals are the weak point, but they are of course fully Ramones vocals, I'm reminded part of the point was not trying to be eg Ronnie James Dio. Now, what about the replay test? Because I never put this album on for myself. But, I always smile when I hear one of the tunes - and I could imagine putting it on for a road trip. So, it's GOOD. 8/10

Okay yes it is essentially the same song 14 times in a row and yes it's best executed in the first track but! It's a really good song!

What a groundbreaking album. I will never get tired of this one.

Hey ho, let’s go! How can anybody seriously argue the Ramones weren’t incredible? Their sound is pure loud, fast adrenaline, and it’s just plain fun. The real genius of their songs is how short they are: they hit you hard, then vanish before you’re ready, always leaving you hungry for another round.

It’s pretty damn good! Other than the classics, there’s a lot of really good stuff here. Loudmouth kinda sucks but WHAT CAN YA DOO-HOO

Fast and fun and who cares if it all sounds the same?

These kids were alright!

The only words I understood were "Hey Ho, Let's Go". And it was perfect

Can't discount that innovation.

These guys wrote one song and just ran with it, Luckily that song was decent. It's obviously a massively important album in punk history, don't know if that necessarily means its great, but i do know every song is a lot of fun. Best Track: Beat on the Brat

You may have heard of the Ramones, they're the band named after the T-shirt everybody wears. Anyway, this came out in 1976 as the punk movement was really taking off. Short, fun songs without much thought into it, it had an immediate influence on other bands emerging at the time, particularly the UK punk scene. First few songs are the best, with the likes of 'Blitzkrieg Bop' (great album opener) alongside 60s pop homage 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend'. Later on there's songs about sniffing glue, serial killers and a passable cover of Chris Montez's 'Let's Dance'. There's much more interesting and clever stuff to be found at the time with the likes of Richard Hell and better albums to come from the acts they influenced. And indeed they themselves would write better songs than this an album or two down the line such as Sedated or Sheena is a Punk Rocker (albeit in the exact same style) but this still holds a certain charm.

So simple. Once you've heard the first song, you know what every song will be like. But it is also very short so it kinda works. If it was even 5 minutes longer it would probably be a much worse album. I love how they say "bop"

Pretty great album, amazing for waking up and starting your day, with Blitzkrieg Bop being a masterpiece on its own accord 🤸

If punk has to be so heavy on this list, at least it’s the Ramones.

Ouvi às 10h da manhã do dia 20 de janeiro de 2026. Primeira vez ouvindo.

Knew more songs than I expected, very punk, very provocative, I like it!

PUNK. BLITZREIG BOP

Not usually my tyme of music, but it's pretty cool.

now I understand why everyone had a Ramones shirt growing up.

I liked this alot more than I was expecting. Giving it 4 stars.

Funny, hey oh, letsgoooo

The timing was great here, following a pretty weak run by the RNG. But I'd have given this a 4 in any case. Two or three great pop-punk tunes (BB, Judy, Boyfriend) and a bunch of very good ones.

4/5 - Does exactly what it sets out to do and totally belongs on the list with a huge influence on American punk/rock. Just not enough here to be a personal 5, but I appreciate the hell out this debut.

It's simple, chord wise and lyrically, but it's still super fun. Short songs, nothing drags. One of the most influential, essential punk albums.

I mean if there ever was such a direct introduction to a band and their sound, this is it. From start to finish, you hear songs, while they do sound similar, all stand on their own. I mean punk has never been about complex melodies or lyrics, so coming in and listening with those thoughts in mind, you can understand it and get behind it easier. It's an album thats easy to listen again because it is so short. Biggest Hit - Blitzkrieg Bop Biggest Miss (if I had to choose) - Loudmouth Hidden Gem - Let's Dance

Introduced to Ramones thru bro-in-law in early 80s. They keep growing on me.

loved and shall listen to more of their discography

Ripped!

This a cool lil british rock album. They sound a lot better than I was expecting. I can tell they did numbers back in the day. Im only saving 2, but most of the others are honorable mentions Saved: Blitzkrieg Bop, Beat on the Brat

Great album. I love early punk, but this isn’t my favorite from the era. Still great though.

Great pop songwriting with a clear influence on future pop, punk, and indie.

pure garage rock -- 4/5

I get that it had cultural impact but didn’t think it was groundbreaking. Some catchy stuff though. Like the shortness Specific rating - 4.1 Fav song - Judy is a punk Least fav - Havana affair

Good vibe! Was split in the middle bc I started it before getting on the train so then it cut out for a bit bc no service

Awful haircuts. The songs are all pretty similar- but I really like the first song so I'm happy to hear it again. Fun energy and nice and short! Do think they could work on their annunciation a tad. Favourite song: Blitzkrieg Bop Least: I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement

This is one of those albums where if you like one song, you'll probably like the rest of them, and it's really easy to like at least one of them. And if you don't like it, it's less than half an hour anyway. The energy is consistent all throughout, though there are some songs that stand out more than others. Great debut album.

Groundbreaking, influential and catchy as hell.

So, basically, this is one same songs that goes on for 29 minutes. It has the same 3 chords, the same rhythm and a horrible singer... And it doesn't matter, because this is non stop fun for half an hour. I dislike punk music, but the OGs made it very likeable for me. 4/5

2/14 bekannt 7/10 Beste Songs: Blitzkrieg Bob, Judy is a Punk, now I wanna sniff some glue Irgendwie lustig Hört sich an wie Jungs die nach der Schule in ein Mikro schreien

All songs sound the same and use the same 2 sentences for the rest of the song lyrics its cool tho

An iconic album with some great songs. Judy is a Punk is my favorite Ramones song. Approachable, entry level punk rock that inspired some amazing bands

every song on this album is the same, but that one song is awesome.

Fun album

I really liked this one!! Majority were bangers. I do love MGMT!

A little samey, but I like it

Its big and loud and fast. All the songs are short and half of them sound like each other. But that is Punk. It is supposed to be fast and furious. But the Ramones always sounded like they had the Punk feel without the seething vitriol and resentment that the Sex Pistols had. And there is Blitzkrieg Bop and a cover of Let's Dance. So that makes this a properly kick ass album!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

its a good song. a bunch of it. i get it. hey. ho. lets go. telling someone youre gonna beat em with a baseball bat is brutal. blitzkrieg bop and judy is a punk are aongs that deserve to be heard.

Stripped down and catchy. If these guys were in your living room you'd probably be a little uncomfortable but it sure is fun to listen to. Wish I could remember how this one came to me, I had the cassette when I was 14 or 15 and listened to it all the time. Is there some connection to Stephen King?

I don't think I've ever fully heard a song by them (only some parts of some) but I've seen loads of their t-shirts, although. I did like the album and although I've seen some people critisize the singing I liked it. The songs can be somewhat similar to each other but I feel this fits the album and I did not find it tiring. My favourite song would be Blitzkrieg Bop and Havana Affair.

rly fun album and a good length, definitely shouldn’t have been any longer. most repetitive album i’ve heard so far tho, almost every song sounded the same and i didn’t know i had even moved on to the next song most of the time.

Not really the kind of punk that usually floats my boat but I did find myself dancing for half an hour

Yes! YES!

It's rock n roll. It's catchy. It's singable. It's danceable.

Much the blueprint of what became 'Punk' for bands such as The Sex Pistols and others in speeding up and amplifying the classic 50s rock n roll formula with a stripped-down approach and sense of humour. However, it's important not to forget that The Stooges, The New York Dolls and more were already paving the way.

Totally iconic, a perfect Ramones album. I'll admit the songs all sound the same, but hey (ho), it's a good song.

So dad

I did not think I would like this but it really surprised me !! Yes the songs are a bit repetitive but we’re rocking ! Highlights - listen to my heart, I don’t wanna walk around with you, and I wanna be your boyfriend

I really enjoyed it! it’s my first time listening to the full album. Felt a bit repetitive at a point but I really don’t care. I loved Today your love, tomorrow the world

only listened to the first few songs, fun!

Jag tycker det är roligt! Problemet med tre ackord är att det blir lite enahanda...

I already knew Blitzkrieg Bop from this album, it’s an amazing punk song. I’m not the biggest punk fan but I enjoy the Ramones, they have a very catchy tune to them for a punk band. This is the type of punk I enjoy. To me this album is a prime example of where punk shines best, tight, catchy, melodic, but still rough around the edges with a lack of polish that really digs into you. Short, fast, loud, and straight to the point, no solos, no filler. As usual punk songs are quite short, average length of 2 minutes which I enjoy. The whole album is about 30 minutes with 14 songs, making it very easy and quite enjoyable for me to listen to. The album flies by. Most songs are under 2 minutes long, nothing overs stays it's welcome. It just punches you in the ears for 30 minutes and then stops. Blitzkrieg Bop is one of the greatest punk songs ever. What makes this album so important is how they rejected what rock had become in the 70's. No prog, no flashy musicianship, no long jams, no solos, just back to basics. They basically wrote the blueprint for punk, fast tempos, catchy hooks, and a DIY attitude that would inspire a lot of bands after it. Lyrically it’s very simple, repetitive, and sometimes dumb on purpose but that’s part of the idea. Songs about boredom, frustration, teenage angst, and not fitting in. It’s not trying to be poetic at all just trying to be loud and fun. It also has an iconic album cover, which definitely boosts the album’s overall impact and legacy. Favourite songs are Blitzkrieg Bop, Beat on the Brat, Judy is a Punk, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, 53rd & 3rd, Let's Dance, I Don't Wanna Walk Around with You and Today Your Love Tomorrow the World.

Really great album, lots of diversity in each song. They're not all driving punk songs, a lot of them have really creative grooves. One of the best punk albums I've heard so far. Standout Tracks: Havana Affair, 53rd & 3rd, Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World

Not the Pistols but very good.

Classic British punk. Solid rhythm and guitar throughout

fun stuff

i could get addicted to something like this

I remember playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and restarting levels over and over to try and get Blitzkrieg Bop to play. Somehow I never actually tried to hear the album it came from. I feel like had I listened to it then, I probably would have loved it. Hearing it now, I respect it, and I love the energy of music. This album is such a great example of just having fun with making music. It’s simple and fun. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great listen.

They rock, still prefer rocket to russia as the b side of this I feel like is no where near as catchy. Biltzkrieg bop is an amazing amazing song. Really like the new mono mixes.

Just some boys having some fun. Delightful.

14 tracks, 29 minutes, pure punk awesomeness. This album is a lot of fun, some of the most high energy stuff to come out of the 1970s. It's very difficult not to move around while listening to this. So many have been influenced by the Ramones, it's kind of amazing the staying power this short-lived band had. The only minor flaw I found was most of the songs have a VERY similar musical structure, but that doesn't take away from how much fun it is. Very solid 4/5

Every song sounded like a remix of the first one. Luckily I dig the sound

really good very heavy but still fun. loved how so many songs started with one two three, made me giggle

Blitzkrieg Bop and then a bunch of short similar songs lol

1970s Punk Rock 53rd & 3rd by Dee Dee. Street popular for prostitution.

Fun but pretty basic.

Sometime you just want to sniff some glue. Gabba gabba hey!

Very cool

One of the first punk rock albums that still holds up today. Best track is Judy is a punk but ultimately the whole album is easy to listen to and most songs are not that different to one other.

All time classic!

Love it and also every song sounds the same

Great punk album that influenced a lot of rock musicians. Highlights: "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Let's Dance"

Punk rock, good fun

52rd & 3rd

I, disgracefully, had never listened to this album until now. 30 minutes of brilliance.

Super fun! If every song was 2 1/2 minutes, this album would be king!

Never listened to the full album before. Really enjoyed it

An excellent album, the best songs on here are classics. That said I’m going to stop at 4+ stars because there are definitely a few songs that aren’t quite at the level of rest of the album.

4 Stars - some great stuff on here and some filler too. Not ready to make this a 5 star epic pick just yet.

Short fast and loud. I love how in another world, this could have been a very poppy record. Definitely a classic. Now I wanna sniff some glue!

Fun introduction, will definitely listen to more of their music. More beats than lyrics oriented I feel. Maybe a revisit some time down the road may be needed..

Blitzkrieg Bop still rocks and I still do not like Beat on the Brat.

Listened Before? Y Good stuff. Classic American punk rock mixed with retro 60's style pop themes. The album stalls out a bit in the middle but starts and finishes strong. Awesome. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

Rough sounds but clean sounding; blunt delivery but sharp lyrics.

7.6 - Fine album. Nice classic older rock. Favorites were Blitzkrieg Bop (8.4), Judy is a Punk (7.8), Listen to my Heart (7.8). Least favorite was Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue (7.3)

A good reminder to up and coming punks- its better to be short and sweet than it is to overstay your welcome

Me: These songs are all jams! Me after ten songs. Oh, it's because they're all the same exact beat just with slightly different notes. No really, listen to the first few seconds of "Blitzkrieg Bop", "Havana Affair", and "Listen to My Heart". They're slight variations on the same thing. At the same time, this album is non-stop punk rock at its pinnacle. On top of that, it has "Judy Is a Punk", which was used to perfection in The Royal Tenenbaums when Raleigh St. Clair (Bill Murray) and Richie (Luke Wilson) learn about Margot's (Gwyneth Paltrow) past relationships. So while I have to dock this for it all blending together, it's just too much fun to give anything less than a 4/5.

- Some great songs on here - a handful of bangers, for sure. - Yeah, there’s a lot of blending of songs, but each one is distinct from each other, especially after a few listens. I think it doesn’t really help that the production feels kind of muddy. And there isn’t a lot of range in the vocals, fuzzy power chords, and drum beat. - The energy is fun, it starts at 100 and stays there almost the whole time. I think it would be a really amazing live show, it’s good to work out to, and I can't deny their influence, so rounding up from a 3.5.

A pure manifestation of early punk, of course it deserves to be on here. It's a record that I rarely ever seek out as it's maybe that little bit too pure compared to the sort of punk I typically like (UK anarcho wave, crust and hardcore mostly), but it always promises a good time and offers a firm reminder of just how important/influential it really was.

Really great

Slaps hard. Love the "Havana affair" cover

There’s one absolutely incredible album across the first three Ramones albums. I still enjoy them individually though.

It is pretty funny because this is basically an album made by crazy druggies trying to sound like The Beatles. And in a lot of ways they succeeded! It is 100% punk and the mixing is really cool. I’d never listened to this before - but honestly I actually like it. This early punk is more “musical” and to me more accessible than later Misfits-type music and then of course hardcore and other sub genres that spun off. This is where it all began!

Classic punk that’s fast and in your face. Energy is infectious on this one, but it’s just a little too samey to hit a 5 star rating for me.

Fílaði þetta

It’s raw and energetic but repetitive. I would give it a 3 but I gave the previous album a 4 and they probably got a lot of influences from Ramones. So 4 it is

Relentless! The songs come thick and fast. They all sound the same, but they all sound like Ramones, sop that's fine.

The Ramones help make the punk sound mainstream. This a great, fun, and short album.

It’s kinda repetitive but I do think it’s pretty iconic and I love a lot of these songs

andddddddd... imma keep it real chief but the ramones kick ass

Punchy, raw, straight to the point and completely raucous for 30 mins straight. Yes, there is an element of similarity between tracks, but what were you expecting? For them to turn into Queen or ABBA (or any other 70s stars) for a track or two and then seamlessly turn back in order for some variety? It's hard hitting punk from start to finish.

It's one song over and over but it's also one very fun very good song

Smithers, have The Rolling Stones killed. But sir, those aren’t… Do as I say! Another one I own a physical copy of. What a great album. Ramones rock the fuck out, but only in 2 minute bursts. 4.5⭐️

Groundbreaking album for sure - awesome listen, just not a lot of replayability for me.

Great sounds and I've heard it in countless movies and commercials but after listening to the album all the songs have the same (great) sound.

A soild album from start to finish. Was it Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and who was the fourth....oh ya and the drummer was Tommy Ramone!

Better than Coldplay

Bit of a mixed bag musically but very enjoyable.

Great early punk album.

Liked this. It’s good that I liked the first song because the rest were no different really.

Full of nice, short and catchy punk-tracks - each one a gem of the genre. I don't want to sit still with this sound. But like often with punk: a whole album becomes a bit repetitive. Weak four stars. favourite: "Blitzkrieg Bop", "Beat On The Brat" 3,5

Fun and funky but got a little repetitive towards the end.

blitzkrieg bop - восторг, невозможно на месте устоять. в остальном альбом хороший, энергичный, но не впечатлил

Boy these blokes dropped like flies in the early 2000's, huh? Anyways, this album is definitely good, but undoubtably overrated. My first time listening to this back to front and yeah, it does get quite repetitive over 14 songs with the same singing and bass. Only the drum work and guitars feel different in pretty much half of these songs. There's nothing more to say about this really. We all know what the Ramones sound like and their enormous legacy on an otherwise way less popular genre.

Are the Ramones overrated? Probably. But I’ve seen their logo stretched across enough massive sets of tits in shitty bars to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Loved this!! Straightforward and cathartic

Hugely influential- every punk album owes this a debt

Punk rock AF

A punk classic. Very familiar with this album as I’ve been listening to it since I was 12. Almost perfect, starts out strong and ends strong, just suffers a little in the middle from being a little to repetitive/samey. But extremely influential and original for its time 9/10

Pretty much delivered on what I expected, like a lot of music, it's classic status is relevant to the impact in the era it was made. It's good but it doesn't quite live up to it's lofty status.

One, two, three, four... Second verse, same as the first! Ramones is very repetitive, and very listenable. Extra star for the punkness!

Great album. Great debut. The original punk record! A bit repetitive but why switch the recipe when it tastes so good?

Classic punk rock, love it!

To me, nit as solid as Rocket to Russia. But still great Ramones. I saw them live in the mid 80s. They had faded some by then. But to imagine this music leaping from amps in the early days of punk must have been exhilarating.

I'm typically not a fan of Punk Rock music, but their debut album is good! Hi! Ho! Let's go. Favorite Track: "Blitzkrieg Bop".

7/10 Favorite: Blitzkrieg Bop

Such a great album - all time classic.

Great album by Ramones!

Absolute classic.

Love the Ramones, but the end of the album did feel a little repititive.

Maybe not the most melodic but certainly influential.

Opening with their blueprint, 'Blitzkrieg Bop', with its flatly distorted guitars, Motown-influenced harmony, and driving rhythm - it's a tour de force. Apparently the album wasn't too popular at the time, although it clearly helped codify the punk sound, with echoes obvious in the likes of The Adverts, Cramps and all that. It's less snarling and bitter than the Pistols and revels more in cartoonish violence such as the brilliant 'Beat on the Brat'. Motown and early rock n roll influences are clear. This is basically encouragement to any budding garage bands, the way The Sonics were ten years before. There are many moments when the songs blend into one, which I suppose is the danger of having a completely rigid approach ('Glue' into 'Basement' into 'Loudmouth' highlight the similarity). Unlike The Strokes (clearly influenced), what you're buying into is the manifesto, the push back against prog and staidum rock, rather than individual songs. That being said there are plenty of individual highlights.

Classic

Punk hasn't been my genre since high school, and even then it was mostly later skate punk and ska, but nothing old school like this. Although I was obviously aware of the Ramones before this, I didn't ever give them true consideration. Now I'm thinking about taking a tour through the rest of their catalog: https://www.reddit.com/r/ramones/comments/14yzlfu/albums_ranked/

You know, this skating music ain't too bad. It's got a consistent and safe beat throughout the whole album, but it works really well. Simple, catchy and just fun like some guys want to just rock.

I’m a Ramones fan. I’m sure this album was included because of the huge punk influence it generated, but Road to Ruin is a better album in my opinion and not on the list (this is the only Ramones album on the list)

7.5/10 The first proper punk album and probably my favourite in the genre so far. Relentless energy, melodic but hard. Bass and drums really stood out. Am a fan of the 1-2-3-4! that starts most of the songs. Best: Blitzkrieg Bop

good songs for a good mood

Stone cold classic!

starten på new york punk i 1976, med noen skikkelig gode punk-låter. Åpner veldig hardt, men kan virke litt repetativ mot andre halvdel.

This album is the embodiment of really fun punk. It's the epitome of saying 'Fuck you nerds, I'm going to play cool music.' And at this time in music history there are quite a few progressive rock nerds to flip off. I get the criticism that this is a bit repetitive of an album but they really had to drive the point home.

Loved this album. I knew the band but didn’t realize how good they were.

Blistering sounds, filled with so much energy and youth. Still, incredibly listenable. Fantastic genre defining album.

Great Album, fun and bouncy. Listened with headphones, which was a little annoying with the hard panning of rhythm instruments on the left channel, melodic in the right, and vocals in center. Switching to Mono made it sound a bit weak. But this is not a criticism on the album, only a minor annoyance

I can see where some would think this album is repetitive but it’s straight ahead rock and roll, no frills.

Simple, yet classic

If every song was as good as Blitzkrieg Bop it would be a 5. None of the other songs live up to that one but it's a great listen overall. All sound pretty similar but that's a good sound so I don't mind. Plus, less than 30 minutes!

It brings a smile to my face when I see an album is a tight thirty minutes. The album cover is funny. Their shoes are so dirty, and their haircuts are so bad. "Blitzkrieg Bop" is an awesome song. They're starting with the only song I know. I must forge onwards into the unknown. "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue" is a banger. This is an important message. This album flew past me, but I liked it. Almost every song sounded the same, but I did like that sound. The songs and albums are so short that its hard to find time to get bored with any of it. I think they get a little more interesting on later records, but this one showed the bones of The Ramones pretty well. 7/10

This was cool, but the album feels like every song is the same throughout.

klasik

Ah the Ramones, a band adored by 2-13yr old girls…according to H&M. Loved it, woke me up and set me up for a sunny Saturday! Also, a 29 minute album?! Quite the treat amongst some of these endurances. Solid 4.

On first listen I was reminded why I don't listen to the Ramones that much, it's fun but dumb, almost more pop than punk. But at second listen it gets more fun and you manage to sing along, now I have been listening to this for 3 or 4 hours already I lost track of time. It is a perfect record in some sense, I respect it for what it is and maybe I had been a kid or a teen when this came out I would've held it in an even higher regard. 4/5.

Don’t be a Loudmouth and just listen to this. I know that Judy Is a Punk, but she knows what she’s talking about. Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue.

Very difficult to rank

Hearing this at 13 was formative. Hearing it now... still great, but every song is very very similar.

Very energetic punk music with a huge knack for catchy pop melodies. I can definitely see why so many people hold this album in high regards.

Even though I’m not really into punk, I have to admit this album surprised me in a good way. It’s simple and raw, but there’s a lot of energy and charm throughout. The songs are short and straight to the point, and while there’s not much variation, it actually works well. Tracks like Blitzkrieg Bop and Judy Is a Punk really stick. I’m not a punk fan, but Ramones' debut has something special. Full of energy and a solid album, even for someone who’s not usually into punk. 4/5

Short and sweet

Fuxking love RAMONES!

Eh beh.. devo dire che li conosco dalla colonna sonora di “SpiderMan Hemecoming” e spaccano

Half hour of the same sound with 13 brief interludes

It’s a defining album for punk rock. Repetitive yes but it’s just fun to sit back and enjoy. it’s a staple for this genre and a must listen.

An album that hits like a big huff of glue. Basic teeny bopper rock and roll played louder faster harder and beyond the competence of the band, so sloppier. Catchy hooks, close harmonies, boundless bounding energy. Very funny how they mix angsty teenage stuff with songs about turning tricks in midtown.

pretty classic, short and punchy was appreciated

Fun album. I’ve always liked the Ramones because my sister did. I knew Blitzkrieg Bop, Beat on the Brat, and I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend going in. Nice short entertaining songs.

Great punk energy to this album; you're either going to connect with the spirit of the Ramones and the propulsive driving beat and guitars of these short songs or you'll find it repetitive and overly simple. This album's main issue is that the first 3 tracks are classics that the rest of the album doesn't live up to. Standouts: the above mentioned 'Blitzkrieg Bop', 'Beat on the Brat', and 'Judy is a Punk'

Generous 4? Probably 3.5 on another day. 29mins long is good though.

Kickass. The original punk band, and the second greatest thing to come out of Queens. The music is fast and intense, and even ignoring the classic banger "Blitzkrieg Bop" there are a lot of real... Well, bops on here. "53rd and 3rd," Judy is a Punk," "I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You," "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," they all hit. The songs have a consistent sound without necessarily sounding the same. Not every song hits perfectly, I will admit. But with no song going for a full 3 minutes, and most under 2:30, nothing really wears out its welcome. Damn good punk album.

What would we do without the Ramones?

Fun party music.

Straightforward, take no prisoners unrelenting driving rhythms and melodies. Doesn't overstay its welcome (much) at 29 minutes. I guess it could be more varied in its sonics but they know what they're about. I can see a generation of kids picking up a guitar after listening to this and then learning to play along. Is that Cut Copy's Dan Whitford singing the woo-oohs in "I don't wanna walk around with you"? Sounds just like him.

While violating a lot of my grading standards (repetitive), I will take a scarlet 'H' for being a Hypocrite. Catchy and signature sound to mark a generational shift, or frankly a F*CK you to the pomp and circumstance of what rock n' roll gatekeepers expected of its genres artists.

Enjoyable punk

Innovative for its moment. My issue with this album has always been it gets stuck making the same song, vibes-wise, for the whole album

It was the Ramones, I have heard it plenty, didnt get to all of it.

A lot could be said about this album, so I'll try and keep it brief. The co-adoption of punk aesthetics to sell more albums to young people more or less starting with the Ramones. This music is fast, simple and catchy. While I think this album was instrumental in furthering music diversity in America (and the UK), it started a trend of "looking the part" in punk subculture that is alive and well today. 4 stars for historical relevance, transgressive (for 1976) lyrics and just being damn catchy, even if they did reuse the same 4 chords for over a dozen songs.

The pinnacle and inception of punk music.

Raw social commentary in punk rock

Punk rock classic.Blitzkrieg Bop and Judy Is a Punk burst with simplicity and attitude. It’s the roots of later punk bands, yet I crave the refinements the later generation bands added.

Listened to this with my Dad, and while I probably wouldn't listen to this album on my own it did remind him of all sorts of stories about his punk days so it gets bonus points

1. Blitzkrieg Bop - 10/10 2. Beat on the Brat - 9/10 3. Judy Is a Punk - 10/10 4. I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend - 7.5/10 5. Chain Saw - 8/10 6. Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue - 7/10 7. I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement - 7/10 8. Loudmouth - 7/10 9. Havana Affair - 7.5/10 10. Listen to My Heart - 7.5/10 11. 53rd & 3rd - 7.2/10 12. Let's Dance - 8/10 13. I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You - 8/10 14. Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World - 7.6/10

I wanna riot, that’s how it made me feel. Some absolutely bangin brit punk. With bangers too, and lyrics that had some depth. It sounded a lot a like tho, but still really good

All the songs sound the same. Usually this purely a bad thing, but since this is the album that basically began punk music, its much easier to excuse as compared to other albums. Punk all kinda sounds similar anyways, all built on similar ideas and sounds. Its perfectly smart and mindless enough that it really did revolutionize music at the time.

Still a very good punk pop album even if perhaps it doesn't have quite the impact as it had on release.

the debut album by an iconic band who would go on to inspire many of my favorite bands. however, listening to the album in full makes it apparent how similar all of the songs sound. this album is really just three songs repeated over and over again. its enjoyable for the duration of the short runtime but not much longer.

A bit samey but helped by the fact that it’s fast and fun. Makes me want to go sniff some glue.

So pleasant. It still feels punk but musical. Blitzkrieg Bop really is a bop.

We have Ramones at home

I enjoy their later music more but still a good album

Classic. So short and sweet. They found what they liked and they stuck to it. I cant believe they remember how to play their own songs cuz its all one big "ramones song". Its what people joke about acdc but actually. Sick vibe tho

Even setting aside what this record, and the band, did for punk rock, this is a solid punk album in the year 2025.

Great classic

14 songs. 29 minutes of fun. Sure it’s all basically the same song, just slightly different, but you don’t care. Hey! HO! Let’s Go!

Love this album, songs are fast, to the point, and awesome. Solid 4 stars!

3.5⭐️/5 [05.26.2025] 01.08.2026

This was the first bootleg album I bought in camden market as a tweenager. It had all the fuzz and scratch of a poorly ripped album. Listening without that I can finally enjoy the full sound. It's good, nostalgia makes me want to give this a 5 but sensible adult ears thinks 3.5/4

For some reason I was obsessed with the Ramones when I was 14. I made my mum listen to their best of album so often in the car, bless her heart for bearing that. I might rank this lower if this was my first listen, but it’s just all vibes for me.

An undeniable classic but felt a little like I had outgrown it by this listen. I would have given it 5 but it loses a point for sounding a bit dated in 2025. Still, a good record that I enjoyed listening to again.

Is it repetitive yes, does it sound like one long song yes, but I really enjoy the sound so had a great time with this

Как раз тогда, когда думаешь, когда же закончится альбом - он заканчивается. Ещё бы минут 10 и был бы перебор, т.к. музыка довольно однообразная. А так бодренько и в меру. 6,5 из 10.

Very strong from front to back.

This is one of the all time great bands that I was raised with. This album starts great but sort of falls off a bit. At least you don't have any time to be sad about it

Loved it

Album moves quick, some great classic punk songs. Gotta respect it.

Iconic album for a reason

This album just fucking rips. Fast, loud, and fun.

The Ramones were popular when I was in college. Now, it may be strange to say, they seem more dull than they were back then. But the rule is still: Shout it out and go. Great.

Cooles Album.

A classic punk rock album for the masses. It's minimalistic and in your face approach does wonders. I do wish that there was a slight bit of diversity to kind of mix things up a bit but it does well with what it's trying to achieve. Top 3: Blitzkrieg Bop, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, and Havana Affair no bad songs 3.50-3.75/5

Blitzkrieg Bop is a massive song and this was overall a great album, but I need to downgrade it a bit for how similar many of the tracks sounded. I’d listen to this any day, length was perfect and great punk sound mixing but gotta be 4/5 unfortunately

Pretty much all the same formula, but its a formula I like

"Ay, oh, let's go! Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, oh! Oy, oy, oy!" This is fun!!

Good songs.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with bare bones punk rock. It's always interesting to go back and listen to these kinds of albums that went on to influence a generation of music and beyond. I like the grunge licks and simple lyrics (e.g. "I wanna sniff some glue").

Really great & fun debut for the Ramones, absolute punk classic, very important for the genre.

8/10. EY! OH!

Good musically, felt a little repetitive.

Punk at the heart of it. Lot of their songs kinda sound the same though. Still fun album for me. Solid 3.5 goin up.

They aren’t the most talented musicians (they started 10/14 songs with “ONE TWO THREE FOUR!”), but what they lack is skill, they make up in heart (they were very energetic “ONE TWO THREE FOUR!”s). The energy is off the charts in every song. The songwriting is fairly sparse, but it gets the job done. You don’t buy a Ramones album if you’re looking for range. It achieves what it set out to and I just enjoy it a lot. 4/5

Ramones!! An Essential album in any punk rock fans collection.

I enjoyed it.

Punk but not too harsh.

29 minutes of the same song. But the Ramones are cool and I enjoyed it

This is the same song like 12 times but yeah its the Ramones.

Many of the bands we love wouldn't exist without this album. "Judy is a Punk" was always my favorite track, ever since it was used in The Royal Tenenbaums.

Way better than the sex pistols. In my opinion, Americans did the punk rock movement right.

It was better than average but not as good as I remember it being. Used to really love this band

Zo'n afsluiter als 'Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World' is symptomatisch. Het verbindt zoete bubble gum pop met de latere 80s hardcore scene, wat vrij fascinerend is. Naast een sleutelwerk en een steengoed debuutalbum is het ook gewoon enorm vermakelijk om naar te luisteren. 8,5/10 Highlights: Blitzkrieg Bop Judy Is a Punk Havana Affair Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World

A very Good debut!

An absolute classic in the genre - go away Sex Pistols - the Ramones rule the stage....
