epic
Revolver has always been my favorites, but I recently listened to the entire Beatles discography and took the time to put every Beatles era in context. What I learned is that Revolver/Rubber Soul is absolutely the best era of The Beatles. This album is so impressively balanced for being a complex kaleidoscope of styles. Baroque pop (Eleanor Rigby, For No One), Indian classical (Love You To), psychedelic (I’m Only Sleeping, She Said She Said, Tomorrow Never Knows), r&b (got to get you into my life), some proto punk (Taxman), soft love ballad (Here There and Everywhere), and a straight up children’s song (Yellow Submarine). And the harmonized guitars on And Your Bird Can Sing?! Very heavy metal. Somehow the entire album is beautifully cohesive and not one aspect is too much or out of balance. Not to mention the studio recording innovations that begin to shape the band’s output. Revolver is one of the best albums ever made, full stop.
One of the best Beatles albums.
their peak or very close to it, at least to me. one of the best of all time.
I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like for audiences in 1966 when the Beatles morphed their style into multiple areas of music. While I don’t think I’d put this over Sgt. Pepper, this is a fantastic album
tomorrow never knows still sounds like nothing else yellow submarine still sucks
AMAZING : eleanor rigby, for no one, got to get you into my life, wanna listen to this here there and everywhere
Like a perfect 90 minute movie.
Seriously gets better every time i listen to it Digging past the obvious masterpiece that is Eleanor rigby, you get a wonderful blend of pop and psychedelia. Manipulating the studio to produce Tomorrow Never Knows must have sounded utterly insane at the time, 1 year after songs like Help and Yesterday George’s eyes always creep me out on the cover, just me?
One of the best ever. Six stars! Insane when you you consider Rubber Soul came out the year before and Sgt. Pepper the next year, depending on where you were in the world.
Killed me
Caiu o filé mignon no prato do canibal aqui.
i love revolver so much. i come back to this record religiously
This would be most people best album. Perfection.
Yellow Submarine can suck your mum, though.
6 out 5
So ahead of it's time. Chemical Brothers had a whole career sounding exactly like Tomorrow Never Knows
Mind is a bit blown that the US TV company decided to do an edition of The Beatles cartoon with Tomorrow Never Knows.
Classic for a reason Fave track: Eleanor Rigby
Finally an album that lives up to the name of this challenge. If Abbey Road is S tier, then this album is for sure A tier (as far as Beatles music is concerned, it's all S tier comparatively to any other group). It's tied with Rubber Soul and Let It Be in my book. Not as cracker jack poppy as their early stuff, but not as out there as the White Album or Sgt Pepper.
If Rubber Soul was the Beatles' pot album, then this was their acid album. I think pound for pound, Revolver may be their best album (though my personal fav is Rubber Soul). In my opinion, there are no forgettable tracks on the entire album. My fast and loose thoughts are as follows: 1. Tax Man and the way it counts in....such a sick way to kick off the album. Paul actually plays the solo too and if you listen closely, you can hear some of the Indian/Eastern influences in the way it's played. Eleanor Rigby - first Beatles song to be written without any first-person lyrics. A classic case of Paul taking the mundane (an ordinary name on a tombstone) and creating a whole new story full of characters and emotion. Also, credit to George for coming up with the "ahhh look at all the lonely people" chorus line. 3. Love You Too - George's first composition to be unapologetically influenced by his fascination with Eastern culture and music. 4. Here, There, and Everywhere - I'll put my money on this being the best love song the Beatles ever put out. It's a perfect song. Beautiful lyrics and chord progressions that have you believing and even feeling those lyrics. Fun fact - Paul wrote nearly the entire song whilst sitting by the pool at John's house as John failed to wake up from a nap on time for their songwriting appointment (I guess that's all that needs to be said for I'm Only Sleeping). 4. Yellow Submarine - Ok yes it's cheesy and everyone loves to point to this song as the use case for why the Beatles are overrated. But it was actually initially written by John with a much sadder and darker message (listen to the Lennon Demo on the Revolver remastered album from 2024-ish) but it was given to Ringo and changed into a more cheerful song intended to children. To this day, Yellow Submarine is still used to put babies to sleep, make them smile, and much more. I don't care what the critics say; I think it's pretty cool that the same band who wrote Tomorrow Never Knows can also make something like Yellow Submarine. 5. She Said She Said & Doctor Robert - these tracks are clearly a direct relation to their experiences with LSD. In She Said She Said the line "I know what it's like to be dead" was a line that Peter Fonda said to the boys at a party one time while high on LSD. It's also a super sick lyric that fits the vibe of the song perfectly. Doctor Robert - based on a real-life dentist that slipped LSD into his guests' tea, including John and George, at a dinner party. Jesus dude.... 6. And Your Bird Can Sing - some of the coolest guitar work on any Beatles track. Double tracked, synchronized guitar parts played by George and Paul. 7. Got to Get You Into My Life - this track is "an ode to pot" as described by Paul. Any time I hear this song it's fun to know that it's literally just a guy singing about how he loves pot and the way it makes him feel. 8. Tomorrow Never Knows - I mean, what a cool track. There's so much going on here. The use of backward-looping tapes, farm animal noises, the swirling, chaotic instrumentation. And of course John's voice, which when devising its production, he told George Martin and Geoff Emerick he wanted his voice on the track to sound like 1,000 Tibetan monks chanting from a mountain. See what I mean when I said Revolver was their acid album? I know I'm probably going overkill on this review, but I truly believe the Beatles were at the height of their powers from 1965-1967. They were established themselves and earned the right to expand their musical tastes and productions beyond the pop sounds and boy band lyrics meant for record sales. They were more experimental than ever. George really began coming into his own as an equal to Paul and John. And most importantly, they were still a true band at this time before all the in-fighting started and hard feelings began festering. As a result, we got Revolver. Yea...it's a 5 for me.
Woah, that was incredible. Definitely gonna have to see if these guys have done anything else worth listening to
hey guess what, it's Revolver
Obviously super easy 5 stars.. how could it be any lower than that? You would have to be so oblivious and I don't want to meet you. Hardly could get any better, any more influential, any more groundbreaking or any more FUNdamental as this!
no skip album
iconic for a reason!
Revolver feels like a real turning point for the Beatles toward the more complex arrangements and experimentation that would cement their final few albums as some of the most important pieces of art made in the 20th century. It is also important to remember that this album came out in 1966. "Tomorrow Never Knows" is remarkable track. So many wonderful songs. There's a reason they are the greatest band ever. Almost any other artist could have written Revolver, and I would have given it an instant 5. The only thing that gave me pause is the knowledge that Abbey Road exists, and I already gave that 5 stars. The Beatles were just so good, that they have 5 star records that are even better than their other 5 star records. All that to say, this is a well-deserved 5-star record from a 6-star band.
Easy 5
One of the most influential records of all time, this is still an absolute treat to listen to. Every song is short and snappy yet no song sounds the same. You can trace the origins of powerpop to the infectious "And Your Bird Can Sing". One could argue that psychedelica began as soon as the trippy "Tomorrow Never Knows" was released into the word. Even Ringo's children's song "Yellow Submarine" sounds like nothing that came before it. This is the first record where the Beatles fully embraced experimenting with their sound after dipping their toes in with Rubber Soul. We get sitars, reversed guitar solos and tape loops. They threw everything at the wall to see what would stick. Miraculously everything stuck.
PURE GENIUS.
Not a huge fan of the Beatles but I can appreciate their impact on music. I am enjoying this album though!
Beatles album. but admittedly it is my favorite of theirs. the pop songs are great and the rock songs are creative and the weird stuff pays off dividends. deserves to be one of the 1001? of all the Beatles albums here, this one is least deserving other than A Hard Day's Night. it hurts to say since this is my favorite, but it doesn't really earn a spot compared to their others. we don't need 7 Beatles albums really tbh.
Aside from Eleanor Rigby and Yellow Submarine, I had minimal knowledge of this album prior to today. It's quite good. Comparing The Beatles to other groups from the same genre and time period, it's easy to see that they were on a whole other level. You can hear the musical skill, creativity & innovation. There are some very cool psychedelic sounds on this one. Pretty sweet french horn solo on For No One too.
First half of this album is a 10/10, but then I feel as though this falls off into the classic beatles sound. Which isn't bad, but isn't great. Everything up until Yellow Submarine, (best song on the album imo, so fucking classic) is 10/10. This is the Beatles at some of their very best I think. Second half, isn't bad, but isn't anything special. Wish they had kept up the drugs and experimentation in these songs. Although it ends off with a bit of waviness with Tomorrow Never Knows. Even though there is a dip in the latter half, I still think this album is great and deserves 5 stars.
My first favorite album in my life <3
ELEANOR RIGBY DOES SOMETHING TO ME!! I like yellow submarine as well.
One of my favorite Beatles albums
I don’t know what I can say about this album that hasn’t already been said. 5 star album, easily, and definitely list-worthy.
So, so good. There’s nothing more that I can say. A joy to listen to from start to finish.
Didn’t realise quite how many 10’s are on this. Better than Abbey Road
Qualsiasi cosa io dica su quest’album sarebbe comunque troppo poco.
Obviously an all-timer.
Classic. Just so good.
Genius. So many iconic tracks.
I think I'll just end up giving a 5 to every Beatles album. They're just so good.
absolutely perfect
it's good, fun .
(6 estrellas)
What is there to even say that hasn't already been said? This is one of The Beatle's strongest works. Favorite Track - Yellow Submarine Least Favorite Track - Love You To ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Beatles. Eleanor Rigby is my favorite
*1966. *60 years later, this album still sounds great. There are moments when the sounds is a little Beach Boys (i.e. old and aged) but the creativity and musicianship takes makes it timeless. *Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine, Good Day Sunshine, and Got to Get You Into My Life all on the same 34 minute album is ridiculous. *This is such a lean album, and just about every track hits. RATING - 9/10
sorry!!! nothing interesting to say. this shaped my worldview lol
The leap from Rubber Soul, which is really quite good, to Revolver, is hard to believe even after all these years. Sure, there are some simple tracks like Good Day Sunshine, which are more like the early Beatles. But then you have She Said, Tax Man, and Tomorrow Never Knows. I've always viewed Revolver as the album where Lennon and Harrison are showing McCartney how to evolve his songwriting craft.
The shadow of this album looms large. And the pervasiveness of some keys songs makes it easy to take for granted. But listen to it closely and consider the context of the band and the times and you can understand why it is so big. And it does still hold up. “Eleanor Rigby” is a damn depressing song that manages to be catchy.
Probably the best Beatles record. Period. Tough because Sgt. Pepper is such a fantastic album as well. However, Revolver stands apart in many ways.
Fire
An absolute favorite. Loved the excuse for a full re-listen.
Favorite track(s): Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I'm Only Sleeping, Love You To, Here, There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, She Said She Said, For No One, Tomorrow Never Knows Inside you there are two wolves: one of them loves Pet Sounds, the other loves Revolver. They're both losers. First time listening to the 2022 remix and it sounds great. Heard before Previous rating: 10/10
my favourite beatles album when i was a kid :) kinda funny how this is the second album i've gotten this week featuring a song that frank ocean has sampled on blonde
I used to stare at this album cover for hours.
Never listened to this straight through! Liked it a lot
Brilliant …
Oh good… Yeah, so I guess I gotta give this one a 5. This and Abbey Road. The rest get 4s. Unless they’re prior to 65. Then… yeah, those are not well liked by me. We’ll have to see. Always a struggle with the Beatles. Do I really want to give this a 5? Not REALLY. But I feel I must. I mean some of their best work is here. And it’s good. They can write a song, ok? 5 Boolean: yes, yes, yes, yes ok?
As I've said before, there needs to be another ranking called "Beatles". They almost transcend ratings, not because every song is a banger, but because the effects of their work simply cannot be measured. Classic mid-late stage Beatles weirdness here. The 60s Indian-style strings and psychedelic affectations are incredible. Iconic #1 tracks aside, I love For No One and Your Bird Can Sing.
Dans le top3 des albums des coquinous. Relativement immense.
I’ve had a couple of divisive opinions on some of the more iconic bands, but this isn’t going to be one of them. Front to back, this album was great. Honestly, the most surprising thing about this album was how little of it I knew. No notes on this one. Favorite songs: Eleanor rigby, love you to
One of the best albums by the greatest band of all time. Even if you don't love the Beatles, you can't deny that they're probably the most influential band of all time. That being said, I love them. This is a really cool album in my opinion because it comes right at the intersection of their early touring era (Please Please Me through Rubber Soul) and their later more experimental studio era (Sgt Pepper on). I believe this is also when they started to experiment with acid, so you see the beginning of the psychedelic influence, which is cool. So long story short, I love this album. 5/5
when i first listened to this album when i was like 10, i thought this was the trippiest most experiment thing ever.
The greatest album ever made. Fight me.
It's not my favorite Beatles album, but it is another from their finest era. Classic from start to finish.
For me, this is not a five-star album because it's consistent and every song is amazing. It's a five-star album because the great tracks outweigh the mediocre ones. Every Beatles album is like this.
While I find some bands to have too many albums on this list, the Beatles is not one of them. Their sound evolved so much over time and only got better that it's important to celebrate them all.
Mis preferidas son: For No One, Im only sleeping, got to get you into my life y Eleanor Rigby. 9.2
Cómo sensación personal algunas canciones me llevan a mi infancia, escuchaba mucho algunos temas. Top Picks 🌟 1- I’m Only Sleeping (temon) 2- Eleneor Rigby 3- Yellow Submarine (mítico)
Welp, it's time for another final album from a prevalent band on this list. With this, I have listened to my final Beatles album of the 1001 Albums project. Well, okay, I do still have 2 Paul McCartney solo albums and a John Lennon solo album waiting for me within the next 124 days, but as far as the band itself goes, this is it. This is the end, and boy is it a great one. Revolver is absolutely outstanding. Obviously, I am far from the first person to say that, but that doesn't mean I can't still say it anyway. To me, this is the Beatles' first truly excellent album. Rubber Soul is great and all, but this, I feel, was the band's first masterpiece. I mean, this thing has 3 George songs on it! That's more than most other Beatles albums! But yeah, this album really is unlike any other that had been released before or since. The experimentation is the most exciting that it had been in a Beatles album up to this point. The increased Indian influences, the studio trickery, and the variety in instrument usage allows Revolver to never feel stale or repetitive. It certainly helps that the songwriting on here is some of the best in the Beatles' entire discography. I feel like I haven't highlighted enough individual songs on past Beatles reviews, so allow me to do so right now. "Taxman" is such a cool opener. The more aggressive sound and the explicitly political lyrics do an amazing job of instantly making you realize that these guys are as serious as they'll ever be about making an album. The guitars are so good too. "Eleanor Rigby" comes next, and it's probably the album's best song. It's so simple on paper, yet so captivating in execution. The string section is absolutely stellar, and Paul's songwriting is some of his finest. Excellent song. "Here, There and Everywhere" is just lovely. It's a nice ballad. I don't know what else I can say. I probably should say something about "Yellow Submarine" just because of how popular the song is. I don't hate it, but it's certainly not my favorite on the album. It's also not my favorite childish Beatles song sung by Ringo, but that's only because "Octopus's Garden" from Abbey Road is as good as it is. "She Said She Said" and "And Your Bird Can Sing" both have phenomenal guitar parts. In fact, Revolver might actually have my favorite overall guitar performance on any Beatles album. The production just makes the solos hit harder than they do on the other albums. Great stuff. If you want great piano-focused songs to switch things up a bit, "For No One" will give you everything you could want and more. Delightful song. Finally, I'll talk about the album's closer, "Tomorrow Never Knows." God, what a song. This is probably the most experimental song on the album, and it pays off so well. John's psychedelic songwriting and the insane studio shenanigans used on the song allow the song to still feel out-of-this-world even to this day. I wish I could call this the best Beatles album closer, but "A Day in the Life" exists, so it'll have to settle for second place instead. Man. This album is so freaking good. There are so many things happening on this album, and they shouldn't all work, but they somehow do. The fact that an album like this was made in 1966 astonishes me. I can't call this my personal favorite Beatles album. Funnily enough, that honor still belongs to my first Beatles album of the project, Abbey Road, but if someone told me that Revolver was their favorite Beatles album, I'd get it. I have nothing else to say. Revolver is absolutely a masterpiece. 5/5.
Some of their most interesting production ngl. Top 5 Beatles album for sure 💯
Real good.
Just one of the best
A goddamn masterpiece. I don't listen to the Beatles on my own that much. It's not that I don't like them, I do. There's just other stuff that I like to listen to more. But man, this is just a great album. And Tomorrow Never Knows...just a great way to end it and a preview of where things were going. Whenever I hear the Beatles, I'm just astounded at the amount of music they were able to put out in such a short amount of time. A ridiculous run that will never be matched...going from ultra pop boy band to a band that pushed incredible boundaries and influenced practically every band that came after it in the span of 6-7 years...just incredible.
Obviously this is one of the greats. I initially had a 4 in kind but upon hearing it again, I couldn’t see why this wouldn’t be a 5. Love You To is the duff track. Yellow Submarine can grate on me sometimes, but it’s not that bad really. Some of the songs seem to fade out quickly out of nowhere too. Regardless, it’s still a good album.
Todella kova Beatles-levy, tämäkin hyvinkin tuttu levyllinen hittejä. Ei kovin paljoa uutta sanottavaa
I mean it's the Beatles so hard to find many issues with this album. I think this is definitely in the top 5 of their albums. Some really great songs, no notes.
I always appreciate when the generator gives me a heavy hitter on a Friday. Third Beatles album in this experience and one that I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did! The songs don't overstay their welcome and the experimentation on certain songs doesn't feel unwanted or pretentious. Where this album really won me over is the fact that it doesn't drag towards the back half. In fact, one of my new favorite songs from the album, "Gotta Get You Into My Life," is the penultimate song and I don't know how many albums I can say that about. 5/5
Staring with an album that I must have listened to 100s of times is no challenge. My favourite Beatles LP. It took a while to get into it, but once I did I loved everything about it. 10/10
For No One’s my favorite, such a gentle and pretty song. She Said is also a classic, I love throwing this one on instead of a Tame Impala song whenever that’s requested because no one who is tiktok brain damaged notices. The clear highlight is Yellow Submarine, though.
Iconic Beatles.
its great. just sadly too short
The first Beatles album the generator has given me, and it almost feels like a shame. Not due to the quality of the record in question - quite the opposite. Revolver, in my eyes, is the single most cohesive and complete album the fab 4 put out. It's got such a great sound and every relisten yields something new. Simply brilliant.
i know i tend to get to music later than other people do, but i seriously don’t know how i let revolver (or the beatles in general) slip past me. listening to revolver confirms what i have already heard about it- it’s a trailblazer. i found myself listening to it and recognizing how it still influences a lot of music today. off first listen, my favorite tracks were i’m only sleeping, eleanor rigby, and got to get you into my life
Potentially my favorite Beatles album though it’s pretty hard to choose. And For No One is also possibly my favorite song of theirs. But again, that’s kind of an impossible decision to make
An absolute pinnacle, one of the highest. Still sounds fresh and experimental, incredible guitar sound, barely a weak track.
Their first of 4 perfect albums. There is a reason why they sold a BILLION records. This is one of them.
INPUT = {"artist": "Beatles", "album": "Revolver"} LINEUP = {"men": 4, "women": 0} FEATURED_ARTISTS = {"men": 0, "women": 0} TOTAL_MEN = 4 TOTAL_WOMEN = 0 WOMEN_PERCENTAGE = 0 OUTPUT = "Maximum score awarded. 5/5"
05/20/26 - I'm several albums behind on the project right now. This is an easy 5. I could skip it, but I won't. I don't like the cover of this album. If it's not my least favorite Beatles cover, it's certainly in the bottom 3 and that contributes to why I often overlook it when thinking about what album to listen to. Every time I hit play, though, I realize that it's one of their best and could even be my favorite (for a time) some day (see my other Beatles reviews for more info on this). Anyway, fantastic record. Best band. 5 stars forever. Now I just have to resist the urge to do my third discography run of year and carry on with the next entry...
Could be their best album. I’m a major Beatles glazer so I’m going to give every album on here a 5/5 but this one was the first one that they released that stretched the boundaries they set prior. No song on this album misses.
Også bare nogle klassiske Beatles sange som good day sunshine.
Their seventh album. Pop / Rock / Psychedelic. From Taxman and Eleanor Rigby to Here There and Everywhere and Yellow Submarine and all the tracks in between and all the way down to the amazing finale that is Tomorrow Never Knows, this is a work of classic genius. The innovation and influence of this album cannot be over stated. The writing is fantastic musically and lyrically with beautifully done arrangements. One of THE great albums.
4.5 stars I used to feel like this album was overrated. When I found out it was regarded as possibly their best I would scoff. It’s obviously good, but I thought it sounded more dated than their later stuff and I didn’t think it aged well. But then I discovered the Mono version of the album, mixed as the band had intended. Suddenly the album clicked into place for me. What I didn’t like about the sound of the album was the shoddy way the stereo was mixed. Still not my favorite of theirs, but the brilliance is clear. This album was a revolution, elevating them from phenomenal songwriters to masters of their craft. Why am I still writing? It’s impossible to write this kind of shit without sounding corny as hell.
already listened to it but still a classic tops songs: taxman eleanor rigby i’m only sleeping here, there and everywhere
My fave Beatles album. 10/5
This album flew by so fast. Hardly a weak song in the group. Eleanor Rigby is timeless.
What can i say? Its the beatles!
A+
my goat paul put for no one (maybe the best song ever), here there and everywhere, and eleanor rigby on the same album how can it not be a 5
some beautiful songs
Revolver is, in my opinion, the best Beatles album and in my top 3 albums of all time. It contains so many incredible songs that it’s not even worth listing them because they’re all so good. Even the B sides of this era like Rain are top class. Those guitars, man. Infectious. There isn’t an album with a guitar sound I like more than Revolver. The perfect tone and level of distortion to produce an ecstasy of timeless psychedelic fuzz. So many bands I love have been inspired by this that it’s impossible to list them but Oasis and Tame Impala come to mind. What’s more is this album has the perfect amount of variety and balance. It contains some of the best non-guitar Beatles songs in Eleanor Rigby and For No One, punchy pop tracks in Taxman and And Your Bird Can Sing, the absolute heaven that is Here There and Everywhere and I’m Only Sleeping (my favourite Paul & John songs respectively), classic singalongs in Yellow Submarine, and the pioneering Tomorrow Never Knows which invented a huge genre of its own. I could go on and on about this album and it really is that good. I haven’t even mentioned unbelievable lyrics and songwriting. I’m running out of superlatives! 1000000 stars.
Pretty much perfect record, classic Beatles
Top 5 record of all time for me. It is absolutely perfect.
Not even the blemish of Yellow Submarine can make this album less perfect.
Surprised it took this long to get a Beatles. For all the britpop they inspired, it's nice to have the originals.
i mean its the bootles
One of my favorites
Beautiful. Would buy
I mean
Great album!
A classic that holds up after 60 years
I’m not a Beatles super fan but I do believe that they are the greatest band of all time. My favorite era is’65/66 my favorite album is Rubber Soul but this is a close second. This record is 60 years old and we can all sing along to half the songs on it. This is an all time classic.
A great album, obviously. I always forget how fast they were moving at that time -- 1966! I could take or leave Dr. Robert, but this is a true no skips record. George unfortunately drew the wrong lessons from Love You To, and went on to produce a string of tedious Indian classical derived songs, but I like this one pretty well. Tomorrow Never Knows is its own fascinating story, with its long life of cover versions. And Yellow Submarine, which must be the top Ringo song in the catalog (?), also led to, obviously, the movie, but also, following the film, its own album. So, it casts a curiously long shadow for a silly semi-novelty song. In other words, great collection of songs, but also an album that is interesting in several directions at once. 318/357
My parents had Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band among their twenty LPs. Also in there was the Tijuana Brass Band, Joan Baez and Ravi Shankar's intro to Indian ragas. Needless to say, I was starved for music. And ignorant of the scope of the form. My allowance was a pittance, and until I started to work at 15, I never had enough money to purchase music. However! One gets by with a little help from one's friends, and in this case, the friend was Elise! Her parents had more records--including Revolver, which she recorded for me on my first gift tape/mix tape evar. This is heart music for me. However I hadn't listened to it in ages. So I played it on my car stereo and sang along; and played it through my AirPods and sang along. I forgot how crisp and clever their songwriting could be! Yes they experimented, and I'm all for that; but the songwriter songs they created together literally gave rise to the next wave of pop, and soared past of it. I watched A LOT of Doctor Who growing up, so I enjoy myself creating little scenes from 1966, 1967 as I visualize the songs. Neck scarves. Sexy looks and martini glasses. Burgundy everything! I also hear just how remote this music is from the music of our time... not just from our music, but from our culture. I hear the Beatles finally losing their home in my heart.
Every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving I attend a live performance of Beatles covers. It's fantastic hearing their songs live, carefully done but not overly fussy. That's the primary way I've been taking in Beatles music for the past couple of decades, and despite how much I already liked their catalog, this event has actually increased my enjoyment of their work. I've even started to like the McCartney contributions more, although as an adult I have been more of a Lennon fan. I's incredible to me how well this album holds up. (So much better than the Simon & Garfunkel record from a couple years later.) Every song on here is enjoyable and it includes some of my all time favorites from their catalog including Tomorrow Never Knows.
The first Beatles album to come up for me. So good. No notes.
A perfect album.
It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard and one of my favorite albums of all time This turned them into goats
Great
it was the Beatles...
Not the best Beatles album but it’s still a best ever album. Some filler but enough Tomorrow Never Knows and Eleanor Rigby carry it back to five stars.
In my opinion, this is where the Beatles peaked. Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road get all of the (necessary) acclaim, but their first full realization of psychedelic and forward-thinking recording techniques and composition is also their most brilliantly consistent record.
This is my third listen to the Beatles of the project. It's their turning point(along with the preceding Rubber Soul) when the Beatles truly began to experiment with their sound rather than make standard pop music. Fittingly, it has many great Beatles songs on it, with the one-two punch of "Taxman" and "Eleanor Rigby" being especially strong. Many of the lyrics are simple love lyrics, but the first two songs have excellent lyrics that tackle politics and the human condition. They also experiment with Indian music on a couple tracks, which works pretty well but doesn't augment their songwriting all that much. However, as evidenced by "Yellow Submarine", they have a silly side as well. The Beatles are often credited with inventing the modern pop song, and this album is loaded with great hooks that only further this impression. A true classic for sure.
Anything other than a 5 here would be an injustice. Taxman > Tmrw Never Knows ! Boom !
No private session used for Spotify. Some folks think that this isn't the best Beatles album, but they are wrong. I say this because its a great guitar driven rock album blended some of the more experimental sounds that this band got into in subsequent albums.
Monster of an album, no way around that. And I don't mean how it's situated historically, where it's a big album for both the Beatles and, y'know, pop music in general. I mean that from just about whatever angle you come into this album, you'll find something interesting, but you're also gonna find something irritating. As an affirmed "later Beatles" liker, I think it's pretty obvious where I stand on what sound I prefer. It seems that the Beatles base of 60s pop slop upon which they made their name was of a particular type: not my favorite, but consistent. From this album on, the fracture is palpable in the tracklist. How the hell are Yellow Submarine and Love You To on the same album? The experimentation that makes this album so important is mostly built on pop...but sometimes it isn't. You can feel it. Sometimes it's just pop. Sometimes it's sitar music. It's all over the place. Is that good? For me, I dunno. I don't really want to sit down and listen to this album. Some days I'm like, "Ah fuck here comes Love You To" and some days I'm like "Ah fuck here comes Here, There and Everywhere" and some days I'm like "Ah fuck here comes And Your Bird Can Sing". The highs are there, but it's a bit of up and down depending on my mood. As a musical artifact, I don't think enough can be said here, and people a lot smarter than I am can say that. As an album, I think it suffers a bit in 2026, but that's a cop out. 50 years ago this thing is a mindblower.
Revolver is definitely the dawn of a new Era as far as Beatles albums are concerned. Revolver rotates in and out as my favorite Beatles album quite often. This record really feels like the first time the Beatles drop the boy band act completely. While Rubber soul started this trend, Revolver fully submerged them in the sound of psychedelia and the rockier sound we hear in the white album and Abbey Road. At the same time, it still feels like a perfect bridge/middle ground of both Beatles eras, as despite it’s druggier sound, it still has plenty of tunes that resemble their past, as well as where they were going. I love the guitar work on this one. I’d say John Lennon is the obvious stand out on this one. Revolver has some of my favorite songs by him. I’m only sleeping, And your bird can sing, She said, etc. Despite my qualms with some of the songs on the back half, this is still an easy 10/10 that stands the test of time and is the quintessential Beatles record.
Where the Beatles found their sound it’s perfect it’s short it’s enjoyable it’s cute it’s sad it has I’m only sleeping, which is my favorite song. Ringo is on yellow submarine it’s the turning point for the Beatles before they go on the run of a lifetime with abbey and white album. Just listen to it.
5 - mastapiece
Maybe there best?
Best Beatles album. Much more cohesive than I remembered. Really moving, though production and quality seem to vary based on release. Still, some of the best pure songs of the 20th century.
ahh yesss ive heard this one before 10/10 no notes best track Here There and Everywhere
I won't knock off any stars for the album art even though I really want to. 5/5
Have listened to this album many times in the past
I mean it's probably my 4th or 5th favourite Beatles Album and I find it a bit patchy compared to some others. It is still one of the best things ever recorded.
5/5
Amazing
There's something good to find in nearly every track on this album. So good.
I don't think the revolutionary aspect of this album and what comes after from the Beatles can be anything other than a five. Sure, it has Yellow Submarine, a freaky little song about god knows what, but it also has two juggernauts of songs. Eleanor Rigby, Tomorrow Never Knows, both had an impact on music for the rest of history. Two have both here should be stated, and worth every star in the world. Of course the album should be listened to. But it's not like the rest is trash too, Here there and everywhere for example is a lovely song, taxman is quite interesting as an opener, and the list goes on. It has a theme and coherence, incredible variety in sounds, and ambition up the wazoo, it's incredible for 1966 and it was world opening when I discovered it myself almost two decades ago. I didn't need to listen to give it a score, but I still did, cause I'll forever vibe with this
Yes, I know... I always kind of refused to go with the Beatlemania. But honestly, I can't deny that this is just an insanely good album, with 10/10 tracks...
WHAT? There are people on here giving this a one star??? IT'S SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC EVER MADE! Geez!
Yeh this is a badass album. Mad to think of the reaction when it came out. Tomorrow Never Knows, my word
Depending on the day, makes a strong case for my favorite Beatles album.
these British guys are crazy
Lowkey visionary.
One of the greatest albums ever recorded Best Song: For No One Rating: 10/10 Stars: 5
Beatles fan for over 36 years. For the majority of that time I’d say this is my top Beatles album. It’s still up there and battles with Abbey Road for me. It’s amazing that the young guys wrote songs like Eleanor Rigby or Here,There and Everywhere or Tomorrow Never Knows. Leaps and bounds from the more straightforward pop of just a year or two prior. The progression on their short career is astounding.
A lot of really great songs on here
Great album. The sitar can’t ruin it for me!
Amazing. Most songs were iconic, different and under 2:30.
George’s eyes on the cover haunt me but damn it’s a good album
Peak
The count in to Taxman gets me riled up like a dog
Dit is mijn all time favourite Beatles album.
My Fav Beatles Album!
really gosh dang good
One of the easiest 5s ever given. Was a favorite of mine on a recent deep dive into their discography and it still is.
great album, nothing I'll write here will say anything that wasn't already said about it. 2 points: - yellow submarine is by far the worst - peaks with tomorrow never knows at the end
I’ve always loved The Beatles but what is good about doing this list is that it makes you sit and listen to a complete album from start to finish once again, which in this day and age of short attention span is a gift! As for the album itself; it’s ace!
Day 244 Masterpiece. Simple as that. Highlights Eleanor Rigby And your bird can sing Tomorrow never knows
It was my first album in this list. What can I say about The Beatles that hasn't been said before? I think it's a great start if you want to deepen and expand your knowledge of music history. The album is great! What amused me the most is how modern it sounds. I guess a better way to say it is to say how much it still influences music. It's light and bright and just perfect for a walk on a sunny spring day.
Probably my favorite Beatles album from top to bottom. Very few weak tracks, lots of variety, and some great hits. One of the greatest albums of all time.
The Beatles
This album was quite good and I found some Beatles songs that I knew but didnt know they were on this album
curto e icônico, pra mim o melhor dos bitas
Incredible album
My favorite Beatles album
It’s The Beatles’ Revolver. It’s probably the peak of them as a rock band. If this isn’t 5, what is?
This album is so so good and my #2 Beatles album of all time. The music is so good, the songwriting is top tier, and it gets it all done in less than 40 minutes. There isn't a bad song but I think "Good Day Sunshine" is the weakest. The album is so diverse there is something here for everyone. Liked Songs: The entire album
I like this album, it might be one of my favourite Beatles albums. It keeps your interest with a lot of different sounds, and starting to get into Indian instruments and style. I like the production and it has a lot of experimentation knowing they wouldn't need to do it live. Eleanor Rigby has always been a favourite song from them, I love the strings. Tomorrow Never Knows is trippy and psychedelic and a brilliant closer.
Revolver may well be the Beatles' best album, even though it has Yellow Submarine on it.
phew, no brainer
I’m a big Beatles fan so I’ve listened to most of these songs before. Some of them probably hundreds of times. I know most Beatles songs are attributed to Lennon-McCartney but let’s be real, we all know when a song is primarily written by one or the other. Most of my favorite Beatles songs are McCartney songs, with Harrison being a close second. Track 2 “Eleanor Rigby” is one of my all time favorite songs. I was pleasantly surprised however by the Lennon track 3, “I’m Only Sleeping” and Harrison track 12, “I Want to Tell You”. Both I’ve maybe heard one or twice before this and now I’m wondering why. Underrated!!
Awesome album.
For my actual interest in the songs on the album, four stars, but for the history it’s created and it’s innovation and musical revolution, five stars
I LIKE IT SO MUCHHH OMGGG!!!!!
Just superb. Simpsons: Yes
Tomorrow never knows no episódio de Madmen 🔥
Muitos feels, soundtrack da minha infância
Realmente tenho de ouvir mais Beatles. Gosto do quão straight to the point é.
Some say this is their best album. I’m not sure about that. Maybe. I see myself giving all their albums after Revolver 5 stars… except Yellow Submarine. They tore of the shackles of being a “boy band” and started thinking for themselves.
- Love the Beatles. - Every song is different, catchy, and still the whole album feels cohesive. - Love 'Eleanor Rigby' and 'Got To Get You Into My Life'
I think I've heard of these guys before. They're pretty good actually.
EXCELLENT, BEAUTIFUL.
The reputation surrounding this album is well-earned; it is a superb piece of work that justifies the high regard in which it is held by critics and listeners alike. That "Revolver" was recorded and released in 1966 is remarkable, as the production hasn't dated at all. While its predecessor, "Rubber Soul", represented an evolution away from the band’s earlier style, it still retained vestiges of that original sound. Revolver, by contrast, bears no resemblance to those early records; it is a rock album, pure and simple. The song-writing, arrangement, and production are all handled with precision. There are numerous tracks here that, despite never being released as singles, have gained a significant standing of their own. 'Taxman' offers sharp social commentary alongside a memorable riff, great bass line and a notable guitar solo from Paul McCartney. 'Eleanor Rigby' is a poignant composition, while 'Here, There and Everywhere' is particularly melodic. 'Got to Get You into My Life' introduces a soul-influenced sound that has invited many covers, and 'Tomorrow Never Knows' remains years ahead of its time. The latter features a striking performance from Ringo Starr - it is worth noting these are genuine drum parts rather than loops. Regarding 'Yellow Submarine', it was intentionally written for children, and I was part of that target audience at the time - it hit its mark. I found it captivating as a child and still enjoy it today. It's a lovey piece of whimsy. Finally, it is worth mentioning that 'Paperback Writer' and 'Rain' were omitted from the album to be released as a standalone single. Both are high-quality tracks, with 'Rain' in particular highlighting a fantastic performance from Ringo Starr. Five stars. Side one 1 "Taxman" (George Harrison) (5/5) 2 "Eleanor Rigby" (5/5) 3 "I'm Only Sleeping" (5/5) 4 "Love You To" (Harrison) (4/5) 5 "Here, There and Everywhere" (5/5) 6 "Yellow Submarine" (5/5) 7 "She Said She Said" (5/5) Side two 1 "Good Day Sunshine" (5/5) 2 "And Your Bird Can Sing" (5/5) 3 "For No One" (5/5) 4 "Doctor Robert" (5/5) 5 "I Want to Tell You" (Harrison) (4/5) 6 "Got to Get You into My Life" (5/5) 7 "Tomorrow Never Knows" (5/5) Total - 68 Average - 4.86 286/1001 153/286 albums reviewed were new to me
This is, by far, the best album by this beat combo.
Fantastic
Nice, actually (probably) the first time listening to Beatles album. i really liked these type of music.
Buen álbum, me gustó, tema conocido yellow submarine. El resto no conocía creo
Amazing. The Beatles started to get into fun drugs like LSD around this time and you can hear their existential crises come out in the lyricism. I love the experimental instruments like the sitar, strings, and Hindi music. Am I predictable? Most definitely.
Is this my favourite Beatles album? It very well might be. Some of their best songs on here and more focused than some of the albums that'll follow.
Incredibly album from a legendary band. This is when they really started to take hold as the influential band that they came to be. Sure, they were already incredibly popular but Rubber Soul is when I feel like they changed direction from the standard boy band stuff and Revolver solidified that new Beatles sound. Just think about it.....the two albums that came directly after this: Sgt. Pepper's Magical Mystery Tour There's no Sgt. Peppers without this album, in my opinion, and that alone makes this album a solid 5/5.
5 stars
Niet mn favo beatles album maarja
Outstanding album what more can you say. Yeah it has the cheesy song for Ringo to sing like all the other albums, but you can excuse that. Was tomorrow never knows the first drum and bass song ? 🤔
Top ten start to finish.
The best album by the best band
Have heard of the Beatles Have not listened to the album in full Know the singles Great album. The start of the Beatles studio band period, and reading about thr making of, they were incredibly experimental and pioneered a lot of techniques.
Onkohan paras Beatlesin levy.
my favorite one
You could debate forever which is the Beatles' best album. This is probably my pick, despite the presence of Yellow Submarine. I love the cacophonous guitar sounds on Taxman, the weirdness of Tomorrow Never Knows, and (almost) everything in between.
Classic
nice
Great album that stands test of time
I’ve always preferred later Beatles to early Beatles and this album feels like the start of the change from one to the other. More experimentation with instruments and sounds and more polished lyrics and song ideas. Tomorrow Never Knows for example, what a great song and probably ahead of its time. A couple of the ‘typical’ Beatles songs but overall a very good record with lots of great songs. I’ve rather backed myself into a corner though by rating previous Beatles offerings with 5 stars. This the best one so far so will have to be a 5 as well. Perhaps I can downgrade the previous ratings. Can we start this project again?
My favourite Beatles album so far and great to kick it off with an open debate on the merits and limitations of an ultra progressive tax system. I love the variety in songs and the way you can tell the difference between the respective songwriters including Harrison. The music is ridiculously ahead of its time. Lacking any real classics and did it really need Ringo singing?
You either like them or don't but this is almost a perfect album. They show their range in styles, they use experimental production techniques, they have great songwriting. Their influence on future generations of music is undeniable and you get a great dose of it in this album.
Absolutely incredible record
Not even Yellow Submarine is enough to ruin my listening experience of this...well Taxman is kind of gross but the bassline saves it
I know there always comes that time in the party when the whole who's better Beatles v. Incubus conversation/argument comes up, and I'm still sticking with the Beatles. And yes I have heard Battlestar Scaratchlica but my mind is still made up.
Nothing more needs to be said about the Beatles or this album. This is my favorite album of theirs: concise, focused, and minimal fluff.
This album has a fair argument for being the best Beatles album. Which means it has a good argument for being the best album of all time. It doesn’t quite hang together as much as Abbey Road, and it could be longer. But it’s always a joy to listen to.
12 of the best songs ever written (+Yellow Submarine & Dr Robert)
One of the finest albums!
Fantasic.
A truly great album...except maybe Yellow Submarine (but even in that song there are some nice studio touches). I'd like to give this 4.5.
good vibes
A solid selection from The Beatles discography. Not often my first pull, but that should not discount the goodness of this record. Eleanor Rigby- what a gem. I have heard this song a million times and it always hits.
Not a bad song on this album. This was the first Beatles album I bought and remains my favorite.
Ok just in terms of importance this get an uncontested 5. You can hear the moment that the counterculture of the 1960s becomes fully mainstream just by listening to Revolver. On the first half you can hear The Beatles pulling the emergency breaks on their previous style in songs like Elenor Rigby, Taxman, Love You To. By the time you hit Tomorrow Never Knows at the end of the album, The Beatles (and western music) are barreling off in a completely new direction. I also really like the album art for Revolver.
It's the best Beatles album.
No words needed.... oh
I didn't know many of these songs. Eleanor Rigby (all the lonely people) one of my favorites
5 stars! My second favorite Beatles album. Some of my favorite memories with my brothers is playing Beatles Rock Band and long nights listening to our parents records together. I often find my self going back to their albums as a source of comfort and joy. Also, our baby finds this record particularly enjoyable, which is a good sign.
my ranking of Beatles albums changes on a semi-regular basis, but this one is always extremely high. i will find out if i am remembering correctly when i post this monday morning, but i *think* this will be a five from Brandon, and it's likely to be a five from me. will be hilarious if i am misremembering and he hates this one, but i don't think i know anyone who hates Revolver. "For No One" is fucking gold, "And Your Bird Can Sing" is also maybe a favorite Beatles song for me... idk man, the White Album will forever be my fave, but is this #2? might be
I've said it before and I'll say it again, my favorite Beatles album always changes. But my entire childhood, this was 100% my favorite Beatles album
I only got 3 zebra texts on Friday, very disappointed in you guys!! Anyway I anticipate there’s others in the group who will share my love of this one so I’ll be shorter today. But I think if you caught me on the right day I’d lock this in as a potential best album ever, as distinguished from “favorite” Understanding the greatness of The Beatles mostly involves talking a lot about calendars. Please Please Me comes out in 1963. They play “I Want to Hold Your Hand” on Ed Sullivan in 1964. Then, somehow, by 1966 they’re doing drum loops and reciting quotes from the Tibetan Book of the Dead. In a vacuum, they’re a band that made some really good songs, but also the time between their first and last album is 2 years less than the amount of time since I’ve been out of college, yet they produced such a high volume of music of such high quality, in a way that has never been replicated, let alone surpassed. In the internet age, it is impossible to appreciate this evolution, because we have unfettered access to basically all of recorded history. But I want you to imagine, for a moment, that you live in an analog age. The only music you've heard is what gets chosen to play on the radio or what you've been adventurous enough to actually purchase. You have no idea what a significant number of musicians even look like, unless their picture is on the album art. So you saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, you bought Rubber Soul and said "gee whiz! this album is out there!" because the keyboard was sped up on "In My Life" and "Norwegian Wood" had a lead instrument you've almost certainly never heard because, in this scenario, you're a farm boy in Kansas and you have a Forrest Gump haircut. After your mother is finished washing your mouth out with soap for uttering a phrase as vulgar as "gee whiz," you make your way to the record store to buy the brand new follow-up album, Revolver. The store clerk gives you a disgusted look because 5 months earlier, John Lennon said in a newspaper interview that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus, but you coolly explain to her that you are actually buying the record so you can burn it with your youth group. She smiles approvingly and probably says something really offensive and unrepeatable by today's standards. You get home and throw the record on and ELEANOR RIGBY IS TRACK 2 AND THEN I'M ONLY SLEEPING HAS A WEIRD REVERSE GUITAR SOLO AND LOVE YOU TO IS HAS FULL ON SITAR AND TABLA AND WHAT IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST IS GOING ON Best Beatles album frfr and also if this is your first time listening to this you probably got to listen to the 2022 remaster and not the godawful 2009 fake stereo mix where they just stick the guitar on one side and the vocal on the other.
Easily one of the most influential albums of all time. The Beatles have many 5/5 albums and this is one of the absolute best.
muy bueno
Perhaps my favorite Beatles album. This album that proved to the Beatles they could get away with anything. A transition between the pure pop of the early years, and the more experimental records to follow. So many great songs on this one, and one of the best closing songs of all time ("Tomorrow Never Knows"). I often wonder how fans of the Beatles viewed this album. Were they repulsed at first? Or did they go along with it? Every song feels like a different experiment.
not a bad song on it
60’s Rock ⭐️Eleanor Rigby
Given the calibre and enjoyability of some of the stuff on this list Revolver is an instant 5 from me - It’s didn’t even need to listen really. This is also one of my fave records by The Beatles though and that is saying something. Love Your To and Tomorrow Never Knows are just such a monumental achievement in pop music. There is some great John stuff on here, and some huge Paul Classics, plus Yellow Submarine! Amazing stuff.
Enjoyable. Some songs a bit odd, but good colour and overall it feels fun and a good listen. Favourites : I want to tell you, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine
I’m ne of the best albums ever.
There’s nothing I can say about this album that hasn’t been said a thousand times. Not my personal favorite Beatles album, and maybe a little over-hyped by some critics today, but I can’t listen to it without smiling and singing along.
I mean come on! It’s the Beatles. Not content to just jangle the pop sounds this explored new dimensions musically and I think it mostly works. Not my all time favorite album of theirs but it’s up there. “Eleanor rigby”, “and your bird can sing”, “I’m only sleeping” and “tomorrow never knows” are my faves.
Incredible. Classic track after classic track and the innovation!
it’s a classic, there’s really nothing more to be said.
Definitely in the upper echelon of Beatles albums. Loaded with great songs
You skip the two sitar songs and dr roberts but everything else is so good...
Can't go wrong with this one!
A perfect album
Very Beetles sounding, good good.
Tried to listen with fresh ears like l've never heard any of the songs. Definitely a couple standouts and overall excellent album. Absolutely love Tomorrow Never Knows.
Look, I may be Beatles-pilled but I don't think there's an album of theirs that I don't love.
I have pretty mixed feelings on a lot of the Beatles albums', but this is definitely one of the good ones. With the exception of the out of place, but still enjoyable, in a kids tv show way, Yellow Submarine, every song is a hit.
I love it, the best album ever
This is definitely one of my favorite Beatles albums. In re-listening to it I was struck by how short the tracks are. But they pack a lot of great lyrics and interesting arrangements into these short tracks and ther This e seems to be some variety of sound from tractor track. Eleanor Rigby, being very somber and sad and the beautiful use of violin. two more of a poppy rock sound of God to get you into my life to the more experimental and innovative sound of tomorrow never knows. It’s a great album and it was really fun to listen to this again.
My favorite Beatles album - just nudging out Abbey Road. Paul’s songs are some of his best - Eleanor Rigby, Here, There and Everywhere, Got to Get You Into My Life. Not a bad song on the album. I really like the closing song - Tomorrow Never Knows.
Amazing album. I had only heard a couple of songs from this album before and I’m surprised that my favorite songs from it are the ones I just discovered as opposed to the ones I already knew. Hidden gems this whole time! They are musical geniuses these lads. Huge respect for the craft, creativity, and mastery.
This is one of those 5/5 Beatles albums. A must listen.
I may be biased because this is the Beatles album I grew up on but it's just banger after banger As a child I LOVED Eleanor Rigby and found For No One so devastating i could barely listen to it - on this listen Tomorrow Never Knows really stuck out to me. A treat!
Decided to listen to this while doing my taxes. lol I was raised on the Beatles but I don't remember this album as much as others. I do recognize some of the songs: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine (I watched this movie a number of times!), Got to Get You Into My Life. I enjoyed hearing some new (to me) Beatles.
I’ve listened to this one hundreds of times but every time I listen again I just like it even more
d los mejores d los bitel
Love this one! Taxman hits home. Fuck those people. There are a ton of hits on this. Probably a fair bit of drug use, too, especially on Yellow Submarine. This album is a 5
Not above Abbey Road for me
What an album. 5
35 minutes go by too quickly. There's something special about how Eleanor Rigby uses those strings. They really do feel like they sing almost like additional characters in the story.
That's a solid album, listened to it a few days before it popped up and it's just so strong.
Not just the best Beatles album; the most career-representative Beatles album. Everything each Beatle did before and after this record is perfectly exhibited here.
Easy 5/5
Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream. Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void. I am a sucker microtonal instruments and tape manipulation. Front to back perfection.
As good as it gets
Listened to at 19.02.2026. Now I understand why it was such a hit not only in UK but worldwide. Many songs are engaging and catchy, not just the yellow submarine.
What am I supposed to say on these Beatle albums? Like They're the most famous and important band of all time for a reason. It's like trying to find an original way of saying Shakespeare was a good writer or calling Kubrick a great filmmaker. There's no way of saying it that dozens of other smarter and more articulate people haven't said a trillion times better. 10/10. A few of there albums that have popped up here maybe don't quite deserve to be on it but this one definitely does.
so iconic so good a bit too experimental for me but still
I love this album. here there and everywhere potentially favourite beatles song ever??
Is this the greatest album of all time? An easy argument could be made.
A classic
Masterpiece
Interesting how the critical pendulum swings, and it seems this one has been on top for these boys and all boys for a long time. For me it's a lesser beatles though - sometimes the song serves the experiment more than rubber soul say, and it really just doesn't have as consistently memorable songs as others. Eleanor rigby, good day, dr robert drum loops all tight as hell, I'm not one of these sad folk who feel the need to somehow conjure up a dislike of these guys, and don't get me wrong still a masterpiece.
Expectacular give me 5
Classic and almost perfect

One of the greatest albums ever recorded
Best Beatles albummmmmmmm 100/5 -Ruby One of the goats. —Noah
Easiest 5 stars I’ve given so far. The best Beatles record.
Still sounds as fresh as it sounded in 1966... perfect.
Some say it's the best album ever.
I hadn’t listened to this album in a while. It’s great though.
