Reviews (page 3 of 14)

Qué decir, sólo puede ser un 5

Very solid album, obviously.

There are 1089 albums on this list, Revolver was number 1060 for me. I bring this up, because I think it's funny, especially when so many people refer to it as the biggest link in evolution from album to album for The Beatles. I got 4 Beatles albums in the 300's, and then didn't get another one for over half the project until Sgt. Pepper's at 953. The two arguably biggest advancement's with innovation, took the longest. I think there are a lot of artists on the list you can listen to their albums in whatever order and it works out, but Beatles are one, I would also say maybe Led Zeppelin, where the evolution of the artist plays a key role in understanding what you are listening to. After all of this waiting, and excitement (especially since there aren't many albums I know I'm waiting for with a month to go) I couldn't listen to this one right away since my left ear was completely shot due to a medical issue. Possibly the worst band to lose left right stereo audio on... Funny how life works... Anyways to the review. Admittedly I was a bit surprised by how "pop" the album sounded and was expecting a bit more experimental. (not that it isn't.) Eleanor Rigby has already been a favorite Beatles song of mine, even before the deep dive into the catalogue. Somehow I've avoided listening to Yellow Submarine my whole life so that was a fun one to hear for the first time in full. I loved how well John's vocals were, and I really gotta wonder how many albums before this one had such a consistently driven bass-line that wasn't just holding the song down, and was actively the melody or main attractions. I gotta imagine Paul's Bass-playing on this album was a remarkable achievement at the time. The back-half was a bit lackluster for Beatles standards, not to say it was boring, but maybe it'll grow on me the same way a lot of the White Album has. A little side tangent, I had a moment of recognization for the closer Tomorrow Never Knows, despite never hearing it before, until pinning it to Mad Men, and one of the biggest scenes in the show. Pairing this with the knowledge of the inevitable stampede influence of the latter part of the Beatles catalog, and how that parallels to the context of the scene in Mad Men elevates that scene for me and my love of that show. All in all I really enjoyed the album, I would probably rate quite a few Beatles albums higher than it, but maybe that's something that'll change over time, as Beatles albums often do. Regardless, I am gonna use this final Beatles album to reflect on how wonderful it has been to experience the band as a whole, and it being one of the shining hallmarks of the project. I truly think that every person could find a Beatles song that they could connect with, or find something within if they searched enough, and that is a special trait that I don't know how many other artists have. The farther we get removed from the 1960's, society around us seems to go through an echo-chamber of repeated conversations of "The Beatles are overrated" or "The Beatles are underrated because so many people think they are overrated/hated." I don't know if there is a correct answer to it, similar to how I don't know if there is a best answer to who your favorite Beatle is. (Mine seems to change depending on what song I'm listening to) What I do know is they absolutely deserve to be heard as one of the most influential bands of all time, and that not only did they evolve music as a whole, they probably helped build the stadiums that influenced artists who followed them would sell out in years to come. In a time where we can see the true vastness of history and how much has been lost and forgotten, The Beatles are one of the few things in the history of music, that's legacy won't be forgotten, erased, or lost to the sands of time.

Classic! The first time I heard Eleanor Rigby I was watching Give My Regards To Broad Street

I've loved this my entire life. Even the clunky Paul songs (Here, There, and Everywhere and Got to Get You Into My Life) aren't as cloying as his songs on other albums. Tomorrow Never Knows is so, so good. There's a scene in Mad Men where Don Draper comes home and finds this album in his apartment. He turns it on and we see him react to Tomorrow Never Knows. It was a great TV moment that showed the culture clash that was to come in the mid to late 60s. I digress. Everything about this album is perfection. No notes, except to say Eleanor Rigby terrifies me as I age.

nice acoustics clean vocals for a 60s

I really love it

My favourite Beatles album? No. But easily worth of 5 stars compared to most of the albums on the list.

I wish I could rate it higher

A classic favorite

Una de las primeras demostraciones de poder de Tue Beatles. Podrían no haber sacado nada más y ya serían una de las mejores bandas de la historia.

Nothing to add

When Beatles come around I know I'm in for some fun times. Even when they're played to death, the music still manages to sound fresh, creative and joyful. This album is no exception, every single song here would be a banger of most other bands on this list. And while most albums in the list only hold a few bangers that carry the whole album, this album has absolutely no slouches. Yes, the sound and vibe is not consistent, but who cares? It's good listen from start to finish. Might be my favorite album in my journey so far.

Part gritty social commentary, part goofy silliness, "Revolver" is yet another example of why The Beatles remain so popular and influential today. They were (are) musical geniuses.

It's one of their best. Some absolutely sublime songs. Here, There, and Everywhere being my favourite. Fab cover art too.

I love it! Such fun to listen to an album where you know the words to every song!

It may not be the best Beatles album but it's in my top 4.

What’s to say that hasn’t already been said!

Still can't quite get on board with calling this my favorite Beatles record, but damn, it's good. and Tomorrow Never Knows still rips.

Fab five or 4

I mean. I MEAN. I mean… It would honestly be embarrassing how much I love this album, if I could bring myself to feel embarrassment about it. This morning I wrote a whole essay about it and the Beatles and the role both have played over the past few years in my life/my friendships/my first extremely tame forays into drug use/my falling out of love with cynicism and misanthropy and ironic detachment, etc. etc., which I got as far as copying and pasting into this review box before I decided: no, come on, too many words, and more damningly, WAY too personal. Not the right venue. Maybe I really should just start up a Substack. ANYWAY… Setting aside all of that. There’s probably nothing I can say about the album in and of itself that hasn’t been said a million times already by a million other people who’ve loved it just as powerfully as I do, or more. They’re great songs. Fucking OBVIOUSLY everyone should listen to all of them before they die, preferably as many times as possible

Undeniably one of the Best albums ever made 🫡

The first definitive example of the Beatles’ impact on all of the subgenres of rock you love and cherish today. Revolver, in my view, was the first time the Beatles established themselves as true trailblazers of the direction western music would take from the late ‘60s and onwards. Beforehand, they’d struck popularity through sounds that other cultures has established way before them - but Revolver is the experimentation that can definitely prove the Beatles’ seminal and original impact on where we are today. An undeniable 5.

Fav tracks: taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I’m only sleeping, here, there, and everywhere, yellow submarine, for no one, tomorrow never knows Literally no skips, this album is so peak. Genre bending between psychedelic, do-wop, and world influence

I get why this is a top album. It’s got some great hits and is just overall a very cohesive fun album!!

Maybe their best album. The instrumental complexity is great and a lot of the best songs on the album never get any play. Tomorrow Never Knows is a fantastic end to the album and highlights it well. I'm Only Sleeping is great. Taxman aged really poorly. Also, Ringo should've been cut off.

There are a lot of Beatles albums on this list and this is one of the ones that deserves to be on this list. Taxman is a unfortunate way to start though. Eleanor Rigby clicked for me the first time I heard it many years ago. I'm Only Sleeping is inspiring. As always it was very nice of them to let Ringo join in. For No One is a big one sonically. It's interesting that so much of the music from the 1990s and early 2000s seems directly influenced by this album specifically. One of the more cohesive albums by the Beatles. Still undecided for me if I like this more than Rubber Soul or not.

One of the most influential albums in history

This album is forever seared into my brain after some extensive listening following heartbreak at 22.

Legendary, revolutionary, crazy this came out 60 years ago

It isn’t particularly coherent, but my word it is spectacular. Eleanor Rigby and Tomorrow Never Knows arguably redefined popular music in radically different ways. The level of ambition is incredible.

There are times when I think The Beatles are overrated, and then I listen to ‘Revolver’ again and it reminds me of how absolutely mind blowing this must have been on release. The influences of the Indian sub-continent really gives the ears something new and fresh to listen to fused with some of their best songwriting to date. Yes, ‘Yellow Submarine’ is awful, but it also has ‘Eleanor Rigby’ on to counteract it. To finish with ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ which wouldn’t sound out of place on a Caribou or Chemical Brothers record is ballsy and leaves you with this hypnotic feeling that must have been so wildly far ahead of its time.

Top class. Still pop enough for me at this stage

Love it best Beatles album tomorrow never knows is my favorite

Masterpiece

Fav; here, there, & everywhere 5/5

Ah, I’ve been looking forward to this. I grew up listening a lot to The Beatles, but almost only compilations - never really the full albums. So there’s quite a few songs on this album I don’t really know. I love the classics: Eleanor Rigby, Here There and Everywhere and Taxman. But some of the «new» songs are equally good, especially the "sitar-songs": Love You To and Tomorrow Never Knows.

Masterpiece

Huge Beatles fan. Revolver is my favorite Beatles album, though almost tied with its' sister album, Rubber Soul.

Favorite - Taxman + I’m Only Sleeping 10/10

One of the best Beatles albums I have heard. Lots of innovation and even deleted takes of songs were fun to listen to. Really cool album art to accompany it as well.

classic. amazing songs, beautiful artwork.

The best bass line ever

Great but short listen

This album has always been nails. This album just kicks every kind of ass there is, from Taxman to Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine, And Your Bird Can Sing. I just love this sheet.

Had Rubber Soul a couple of weeks ago now I get Revolver. It's impossible to really say what the very best Beatles album is but there's as strong a case for this as anything else. Released 9 months after Rubber Soul (ridiculous), it takes it to a whole new level in terms of sound and production quality - they spent thousands of hours recording and mixing this to get it right. They were insanely productive around this time and no wonder they stopped touring. All Beatles chip in on this one with Harrison's 'Taxman' opening the album, kicking off about the taxes being imposed at the time (rings very true today) whilst Ringo takes the lead vocal on Yellow Submarine, which I'll have nothing bad said about. But great songs abound from Lennon at his dreamiest best in 'I'm Only Sleeping' and 'She Said She Said' then 'And Your Bird Can Sing' which is nothing at all like that, a rock song centred around an irresistible riff. Meanwhile, McCartney's 'For No One' and 'Good Day Sunshine' providing a nice juxtaposition of sorrow and optimism before the soulful sunburst of 'Got to Get You into My Life'. And in closing the head spinning and influential Tomorrow Never Knows inspired generations of psychedelia and electronica and still sounds remarkable today. Im not really into 'I Want to Tell You' or 'Dr Robert', they are the weakest songs here but do fit in well with the theme of the album. Easy full points, possibly the best album ever.

My first favorite Beatles album. The designation has changed over the years, but there is so much fun on this. Little moments like the bass at the end of 'And Your Bird Can Sing' and the fade-in guitar to 'I Want To Tell You' to the horns in 'Got To Get You Into My Life' (and don't forget the drum fills at the end of each verse!) - just so much to love across this entire album.

Highlights: Die Basslinie von Doctor Robert und die Duettgesänge von Paul und John bei She Said she Said und and your Bird can sing.

Mindestens top 3 Album der Beatles = 5 Sterne.... Sehr diverse Mischung durch Übergang zur experimentellen Studio-Band

It's not bad. It's interesting music and I feel I should listen to it once at least. Sent me down a rabbit hole of 60s psychedelia. Fun.

Bah classique

another one i've not listened to a while, but i know it will rank 4 or 5 stars. just amazing songs start to finish here "eleanor rigby" is still just a perfect pop song. beautiful and melancholy "i'm only sleeping" is a, well, sleepy hit. it's one of those songs that's a clear response to _Pet Sounds_, and that's to this song's benefit "here, there and everywhere" is a great, longing love song. it sounded a little dated at its time, but now it sounds timeless. "yellow submarine" is often written off as a novelty. it really isn't. whimsical, tuneful, enjoyable. give it a listen "she said she said" is a perfectly fine blues-based pop song. not the greatest beatles song but still fine. "good day sunshine" continues the blues-based pop song tradition, but paul's playing and singing really brings this song into greatness. that chorus is rightful beloved by the masses. "and your bird can sing" is a top 5 beatles song for me. there is nothing revolutionary about it, but the interaction of them all is in full swing here. just smart songwriting and playing all around "for no one" paul's interplay between his voice and piano is solid here. also, french/english horn almost always=great pop song in my ears "doctor robert" is a song. i like it because one of my best friends is a literal doctor robert "i want to tell you" is almost dissonant at times, mainly due to that bouncing piano. it's kind of gloriously weird "gotta get you into my life" is pure pop perfection. this version is outstanding, but i still prefer the earth, wind, and fire cover. give it a spin. "tomorrow never knows" is one of the best album-enders of all time. _revolver_ shows why ringo's drumming is often unfairly maligned, this tune in particular.

beautifully quirky

★★★★★★★

Mi album favorito de los Beatles. Masterpiece.

Classic album

9/10 - Classic and at their prime. Psychedelic Beatles are the best Beatles.

Review - Love this album. The band's moving into trying out more experimental songs, taking influence from psychedelic and world music. This doesn't always make for the best songs, but it's interesting to see their expanding influences and changing songwriting. Meanwhile, even the less experimental songs are expanding beyond their earlier , more formulaic rock and roll style. Some of their best songs are in this album. Rating 9.5/10 Need to hear? YES

My favorite album of all-time.

Saw a compelling argument that the presence of the best Beatles song ("Tomorrow Never Knows") on this record (which is a good choice) makes it a strong contender for best Beatles album. I'd agree... almost. It has "Yellow Submarine" on it, which is arguably the worst Beatles song.

Genuinly so good, one of my favorite albums of all time. One of the easiest 10 out of 10s so far

10000000/10

Love Love Love the beatles. Fave songs: Elanor Rigby, Taxman, Here there and everywhere

The Beatles full shift into pop to psyche rock. Influence from their experience in travels and consumptions. The riff starting with John + Paul is obvious from the song styles.

Great throwback! Eleanor Rigby is a fave!

1966 fire!

Easy 5 stars.

What really needs to be said here?

Revolver is the Beatles shunning any care for live performances and creating a purely studio album. Primarily a work of psychedelia, the band embraced experimentation regarding both musical and lyrical content to create a diverse sounding album. Chief among these includes Indian influenced strings (Tomorrow Never Knows), metal-esque impressions (Taxman) and a nautical atmosphere (Yellow Submarine), complete with glasses, chains and bells. Not all of these innovations hit the mark, and the sound and feel of the drugs the Beatles were consuming during the album's composition are clearly felt. The experimentation can also alienate the more conservative sounding songs such as "Here, There and Everywhere". Yet the album's layered and vibrant sounds, combined with classic Beatles melodies, have rightly secured this album a place among the greats.

its fa fuckin beatles bro

👏👏 didn’t realize I knew some of the songs. Iconic.

Lo sigo escuchando y es realmente el tipo de música que me gustaría empezar a escuchar más !! Estuve escuchando mucho djo estos días y me transmitieron ciertas vibes parecidas

putaalbum

Stand out tracks: Taxman Eleanor Rigby Yellow Submarine Tomorrow Never Knows Based on my personal taste I’d give this album a 4. For its iconicness and influence at the time I’d give it a 5. The kind of production for Tomorrow Never Knows was incredible for the era of music.

A close second place to Abbey Road.

Revolver is one of my all time Beatle favorites !!

Beautiful! !! “Here, there and everywhere”!!

Obvious 5

Got already

Their best in my opinion.

One of my Top 5 Beatle's albums, so many of these songs are iconic and written into the social & artist fabric of the times. They NEVER get old ! Recognized as one of the greatest and most innovative albums in the history of popular music, its range of musical styles, diverse sounds and lyrical content stand tall all of these decades later.

This album is very familiar to me. This may get better with age for me?

SHOCKING: THE BEATLES ARE GOOD!!! Okay. Admittedly some of the songs are a bit silly, but they're still good :)

Unbelievable album. McCartney’s songs are so impossibly good on this. But even the couple of lesser known album tracks are solid. One of the Beatles’ best.

I think this was my first time listening to a Beatles album all the way through. I recognize a lot of the songs. Overall I was surprised how interesting and experimental this album was. I liked it!

It’s the Beatles at their best in my opinion. Listening to this album you can tell a lot of thought was put into creating something that is best listened to start to finish, and it still holds up today. 5 stars

Eleanor rigby is an all timer

Amazing array of sounds

4.5/5 Stars Top Songs: Got to Get You In My Life, Eleanor Rigby, I'm Only Sleeping

*Probably my favorite Beatles album *Eleanor Rigby is a fantastic song

Possibly the best beatles album. From 1965 all of the beatles albums are 5 star classics though. Eleanor rigby is beautifully sang with mournful lyrics. Im only sleeping is lennon with a dreamy delivery and funny to boot, harrisons guitar playing is amazing on this song. Here there and everywhere is the wedding songs to top all wedding songs, incredibly moving. She said she said still sounds contemporary 60 years on. Good day sunshine veers slightly into vaudeville but the hook brings it back. For no one could soundtrack any brit film, its an outstanding work of art. The album is rounded off with tomorrow never knows which is the psychedelic song above all others. This is bubbling with ideas and genius.

All timer of an album. love the tunes

Not only my personal favorite Beatles album, but one of my favorite albums of all time. So many good songs here and it's really the transition point from their early sound to what the later albums would represent. The eastern influences and sitar starting to pop up, the more complex orchestration (Eleanor Rigby stands on its own here, one of my favorite songs ever, but even Yellow Submarine starts to hint at the the horns that would really flesh out on Sgt Peppers), the impeccable guitar work on And Your Bird Can Sing, just awesome from start to finish. Tomorrow Never Knows is such a great closer, second maybe only to A Day in the Life in terms of album closers. Impeccable songcraft throughout and a masterpiece in my opinion.

Stands the test of time regarding artistry, musical arrangements & vocals, song writing - a wonderful listening experience.

I mean. It's great. What else can be said.

Always a favorite and a good time!

Marks the historic shift from touring to pure studio experimentation. "Taxman" attacks the 95% UK tax rate for the wealthy ("1 for you, 19 for me"). "Tomorrow Never Knows" pioneered sampling and electronic music using manual tape loops. "Eleanor Rigby" uses a double string quartet instead of rock instruments.

Undeniable

One of the classics.

Hitazo tras hitazo.

What can I write that we haven’t already read. Essential Beatles LP.

Hier hou ik van. Met plezier geluisterd.

Dat noem ik een klassieker. Alles is nog steeds terug te horen in muziek hierna.

The amazing thing about the Beatles is how varied the music is and often the topics. Who writes music about a tax collector? Maybe the most interesting part about them is how much they appealed to the unwashed masses. Gives me hope for humanity.

Easiest 5 stars I’ve given so far

I was w a friend most of the day 👯‍♀️ so I'm on second listen a lil later! But it's tea 🫖 asf !

This would probably be a perfect album if not for "Yellow Submarine" lol. And that song is not bad! It just doesn't fit at all. "Eleanor Rigby" remains one of the greatest songs of all time, 59 years later. I only learned recently that the guitar solo in "Taxman" was performed by Paul. "And Your Bird Can Sing" is one of the most "how have I never heard this song before" songs the Beatles have. It's one of my favorites. This is such a great album.

Date gen: 22nd dec 2025 ( carried from the 21st ) Time gen: 2:14am Initial vibes: Very good Tracks:14 Length:35 mins 1. Taxman What a strange way to kick off the album but I’m not complaining. There’s a catchy tune and I’d listen to it again 7/10💜🧡 2.Elenor Rigby I’ve listen to this song before and I initially wasn’t a fan but it’s really grown on me. I really like the strings in the back, it gives it a darker feel compared to most of the Beatles other works. It also tells a story and that’s one of my favourite things in music, when a peace tells a story, it makes it seem more real, like it has a connection and it makes me appreciate the piece so much more! 8.7/10 💜💙🤍 3. I’m only sleeping It’s calm, and I like that. I will definitely be listening to it again. You can definitely sway to it and I like that 7.7/10💚 4. Love you to It was definitely a strange thing to listen to at 2am, actually I think that it’d be weird to listen to at any time of day. It’s got a nice tune but it’s definitely not my favourite out of what I’ve heard on the also far. Can’t be as bad as wild honey pie though 😰 5.9/10💜 5. Here, there and everywhere Oh right of the bat I felt calm. I really don’t know why I don’t listen to this song more because I love it so much. I was crying when listening to it because of how peaceful and calm it sounds. It just puts me at ease and I really like that. Such a beautiful song 9/10 💚💙🤍 6. Yellow submarine RAHHHH I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG. I adore the upbeat tempo and just the vibes all around. I am constantly catching my self singing this because of how catchy it is. Also ringo is the main vocalist on this song and that makes it 100 times better 10/10💛🧡 7. She said she said Ohh this might be a new favourite song of mine. Right off of the bat I knew I was going to like it. This will definitely be listened to on the daily 8/10 💛💚 8. Good day sunshine Very happy vibes. I was grinning the entire way through this song. I don’t have much to say other than this will definitely be getting added to happy 7/10💛 9. And your bird can sing Very good aswell. I love whatever went through the Beatles minds when singing/ writing this. This is DEFINITELY Getting added to my playlist. 7.6/10 💛🧡 10. For no one I love love LOVE sad love songs they make me feel something. Not only do I love songs like this, this is definitely my favourite one music wise like I don’t have a single complaint 9/10 💙💚🤍 11. Doctor Robert Right so we’ve drifted back into the strange category again but I’m still not complaining. It’s definitely interesting and I enjoy it I just don’t know if I would listen to it outside of the album. I’ll have to report back 6/10💜 12. I want to tell you It’s nice but it doesn’t particularly stand out to me. Just kind of like your average run of the mill song. It’s nice but like Doctor Robert I don’t know if I would listen to it outside of the album 6/10 💛 13. Got to get you into my life It’s nice, stands out more than the last one but again nothing really that special 6.8/10💛 14. Tomorrow never knows I’m kind of disturbed but in a cool way. Would probs appreciate more if it wasn’t 2am. I’m highkey scared shitless rn. It’s my least favourite by a long shot which is disappointing because I was enjoying the album sm 😔 I’ll just pretend like it doesn’t exist 2.3/10 🖤 After listening: It’s a very good album and I would definitely recommend. Half of the album sounds like it comes straight out of MMMM by Tally Hall and it’s kinda nostalgic in a way 1st: Yellow Submarine 2nd: For No One/ Here there and everywhere 3rd: She Said She Said Last: Tomorrow never knows Album #1 🥳 Very happy that I got the Beatles what a great way to kick off this new project

I already own this xx

the best beatles album

𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘳 is the moment the Beatles stopped being just a great pop band and became something stranger, sharper, and genuinely boundary-pushing. What strikes me most is how casually they mix brilliant pop songwriting with ideas that shouldn’t work together — and somehow do. The songs jump in every direction: a taxman rant, the lonely world of Eleanor Rigby, a cheerful yellow submarine, sunshine optimism, a singing bird, and even a doctor named Robert. It shouldn’t feel cohesive, but the band is so locked into its creative peak that everything fits. John, Paul, George, and Ringo sound fearless here, each track its own little world. And then there’s 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴, which still feels like a transmission from the future — tape loops, drones, and a vocal that sounds more like a mantra than a pop melody. It’s probably the most experimental thing they had ever recorded up to that point, and it blows the album wide open. Even the cover matters: Klaus Voormann’s collage, tied to their early Hamburg days, feels like the perfect visual counterpart — playful but surreal, grounded but already drifting toward psychedelia. For me, 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘳 works because it captures both sides of the Beatles at once: the perfect pop craftsmen and the restless experimenters. It’s witty, curious, tuneful, and bold — and easily one of their finest albums.

🖤love

the Turn!

I mean it’s the Beatles. Enough said. My rating 4.8

An absolute classic possibly my favourite Beatles album, but I could say that about 2/3

Quite possibly my favorite Beatles record.

One of my all time favourites

Starting with a banger. Just waiting until I can lock in those 5-stars.

I guess all the albums get five stars, but this one was evolutionary...the beginning of the transformation from the Fab Four to something else.

Greatest beatles album hands down

Not a single bad song on here, and the recent remaster greatly improves the mix. One of the best Beatles albums

Great! I love The Beatles. For No One and Here, There, and Everywhere are two of my favorite Beatles songs. I love a lot more on this album though.

5 Stars, amazing album.

The acid has hit. The lads from Liverpool have contemplated their mortality. John sneers, Paul sighs, Ringo grins, and George writes underrated bangers. A cornerstone of modern experimental music; it hits from all directions and never slows down. This must've blown some minds wide open back in '66.

The album where the Beatles collectively said, “What if we stopped being cute and started bending reality?” Rating: 5/5 Short Review: A kaleidoscope disguised as a pop record. Revolver is psychedelic, punchy, playful, innovative, and weird in the best “my brain is expanding against my will” kind of way. It’s the sound of four guys discovering studio magic and immediately using it for mischief. Favorite Track: I’m Only Sleeping Because it’s dreamy, lazy, existential, and feels exactly like you on a Sunday morning after a long run, staring at your ceiling pretending to contemplate life.

À classic

Ka-BLAM! my favorite Beatles album? This and Sgt. Pepper. Got to get you .. Good day sunshine! I'm only sleeping, Eleonor Rigby. Dr Robert, Taxman! I use that to teach 1st conditionals in ESL class. Sheer musical genius and mastery, Every single song is AWESOME - 60yrs later. Why they are the GOATs.

First off - this mix is ridiculous. Roaring out of the gate with Taxman. Then full Paul with Eleanor Rigby. I'm Only Sleeping alludes to shoegaze. Here there everywhere - that crazy guitar key change saves from potential smaltz and the transition into... yellow submarine. I love urging the crowd on in the channel. Such a joyous place that you don't want to leave in the midst of the slow fade. To switch gears the the board strokes... this is a transition that's better than what happened on either side. The harmonies of old are still there but the music and so writing is refracted. John wins the record. Probably the last one? There are some many amazing sonic flourishes. The knockout is Tomorrow Never Knows. So often "sounds" don't age well. This is simply untouchable. And The Mono version is like sticking your finger in an electric socket. It will make your hair stand on end. And lastly - Rain. From the same sessions. Doesn't get any better.

An embarrassment of riches, embracing so many types of music from one track to the next: guitar hero rock, string quartet pop, twee pop, Indian drone, 50s doo-wop ballad, and a sea shanty (just to name the first six tunes). Tomorrow Never Knows is the first, and still the best, trip hop song. One of the greatest album covers ever.

In my view, "Revolver" marks a masterclass in songwriting and studio craft, showing The Beatles at a moment when curiosity, confidence, and imagination aligned perfectly. For some reason, I haven't posted my favorite songs, but here they go: “Eleanor Rigby” - storytelling on loneliness backed by classical arrangements. “Tomorrow Never Knows”- This song opened the boundaries of conventional song structure with its tape loops, hypnotic drone, and spiritual lyrics. “Here, There and Everywhere” What else can I say? Revolver captures the Beatles eager to explore the unexplored. 5/5

It’s an all-time classic album for many reasons and you know it.

Such an amazing album overall. Not much can be said about it. Nearly every song is a banger and a lot of my personal favorites like Got To Get You Into My Life and Yellow Submarine are on here.

My first Beatles album on the list. A classic.

Decided not to write a long review for 'Revolver'. It's 'Revolver', after all.

high 5 this album has ruined my rating system. ziggy stardust is obviously a full marks album so deserves the highest rating. this album is beyond full marks. its like when hermione granger received a hundred and twelve per cent on her charms exam. some people ( including paul ) say george didnt get going as a songwriter until abbey road. this album ( and rubber soul ) reveal that as rubbish. its said he lost interest in the beatles around the time of sgt pepper, but here he delivers 2 all time bangers and "i want to tell" you as a little 9/10 bonus. this album has the best opening 5 tracks of any and two of them are from george. "love you to" is his best indian inspired track. it bangs. its the best beatles album and the best album of all time. its a true beatles album: "a hard days night" is johns album, "sgt pepper" is pauls album, "abbey road" has "maxwells silver hammer" on it. the 3 writers are equal on here ( george slightly less equal ), and the reason so many of the tracks bang so hard is ringos unreal performances with a great drum sound. its summed up by the cover ( the best album cover ) where all their faces are big and the same size. heres where they transformed from a band to a super group. like all beatles albums this one has its dud track, but in recent years ive learnt to love yellow submarine. ever since reading about the recording session where they invited all their friends round to do the sound effects, blowing bubbles in the bath etc, it always brings a smile to my face. its a joke song and a pretty funny one too. who doesnt like a bit of fun.

Perfection. Damn it sounds so good. And I know it will sound like hyperbole, but anyway: one of the high water marks of 20th Century art and culture.

i like hearing how the 4 of them are clearly diverging into their own musical preferences—mccartney’s songs are so different from harrison’s are so different from lennon’s now (and yellow submarine is in there too for what it’s worth)

Sensational stuff. I can’t even justify knocking a star off for the silliness of Yellow Sub. There’s too much good stuff here, especially the last track ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’

Brilliant album. It has some very early experimentation going on with the backward guitars. It' would be pointless and also a very long list to mention even a small amount of bands who would cite this as an influence. But suffice to say, this was part of the origins of alternative rock/ Indie. Apart form the cringe worthy 'Yellow Submarine' (but it still is a classic), this has some of their best work.

Still not even my third favorite Beatles

An all time classic. Revolver has outstanding songs that are varied, experimental, playful, and yet restrained. These are tight compositions and each one has its particular place in this album. The songs are evocative character studies, sometimes in the third person, sometimes in the first person, and sometimes they paint a picture of a whole town’s worth of people. The arrangements are sublime. A phenomenal piece of art. 5.

A classic. So many good songs here.

These guys were on to something

masterpiece

I felt like I had been getting gas lit by the Beetles fan boys for so long. All I ever head was this was the greatest band of all time, this band revolutionized music, and all I ever heard was 60’s pop bullshit. This was the first album I actually heard it on. This album doesn’t quite live up to the behemoth hype surrounding this group, but with any other band this is and easy five, so I have to be fair here.

The fab four at their creative peak banging out tune after tune. Eleanor rigby is a classic and I'm only sleeping and good day sunshine are underrated gems. Only weaker track is Dr Robert which is a bit of a nothing song but kinda catchy still

My FAVORITE Beatles album. I feel like it's criminally underrated when compared to the albums that follow. (and I understand that) An absolute amazing turning point in their music, so good.

I used to think the Beatles were overrated. I also used to be hella stupid

Super cohesive album without getting repetitive. There was a lot of fun instrumentation experimentation in this one like this strings in "Elenore Rigby" and french horn solo in "For No One."

There are of course the gems on this album that most people know, like Eleanor Rigby. But the whole album has really interesting arrangements and instrumentation, with the use of the sitar, electronic effects, and refreshing harmonies and meter changes. Great album!

One of the best Beatles albums with Elanor Rigby and Yellow Submarine. 5/5

The best Beatles album. Every bit of this album is so good.

Landmark recording. Still holds up as fun and engaging too

имба.

goodgoooooofgood

I think these boys may be on to something

It’s the Beatles! All of their albums are amazing. This is not my favorite though- it only has like 2 awesome songs.

It's probably the best Beatles album with futuristic sounds (for 1966), plenty of variety and experimentation. In the songwriting stakes, it's a cut above Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road. Loads of highlights including Eleanor Rigby, Love You To, Taxman, I'm Only Sleeping, Yellow Submarine and the truly remarkable Tomorrow Never Knows. It's astonishing how much they had mutated since their debut in 1962, a mere four years earlier, yet still recognisable as "Beatles Music".

And lo the ascendency began..

Up and coming young things. Keep an eye out for them, they could be the next Arctic Monkeys.

A masterpiece!

This might be one of my favorites of the whole beatles catalog. I may still like the white album more but its been a long time since ive listened to that one. This is great though. Just full of perfect tracks. The only ones that didnt get a like was doctor Robert only because it feels like Taxman again just not as good. Still a decent song but too similar. And I also want huge on love you too. Sorry George your still my favorite. Its just too abstract and meandering. Cool sounds but not cohesive enough for me. Everything else is amazing. Eleanor Rigby was always my favorite song as a kid and I sill love it and its absurdly sad tone just the same. Not sure if its still my favorite but its up there for sure. At the end of the day its the beatles and there is a reason people still talk about them. And this is one of their best. Can't go wrong

My favourite beatles album at the peak of their creative genius. Not a bad track on here.

EL MEJOR ALBUM EXPERIMENTAL DE LOS AÑOS 60 , RELEVA E IMCREMENTA LA ATMOSFERA Y SE SALE DE LOS PARAMETROS SOLICITADOS DENTRO DE LA MUSICA POPULAR Y UTILIZA ELEMENTOS INNOVADORES TALES COMO EL LOOP Y DEMAS

10/10 album a true classic

One of my favourite albums of all time. I mean this record has Here, There and Everywhere and For No One on it, two of the most beautiful songs of all time. Not to mention Eleanor Rigby! What about the start of Tomorrow Never Knows? Is there a better intro to any song? The Indian influence on that track, and Love You To, gives the album a unique, beautiful, psychedelic element that I dont think i've ever heard matched elsewhere on any other record. There are so many sing a long moments, cracking piano licks, guitar riffs and solos that compete with those on the greatest rock and roll records. The variety of sounds and styles, as always with The Beatles, blows my mind. Then the vocals, McCartney really shines on this record for me. Got to Get You Into My Life!! This album is incredible. It is experimental and innovative yet still accessible, melodic, textured, dreamlike and straight up groovy. Favourite track - Tomorrow Never Knows. Eleanor Rigby or Here, There and Everywhere. Or maybe any of the others really! 10/10

Excellent album. Not a lot more to say.

The perfect mix of The Beatles experimenting and pop hits. Shoutout LSD. 5/5

GOAT. Great album.

What hasn't been said? One of the most popular albums from one of the most popular bands. And with good reason.

After 60 years "Tomorrow Never Knows" is still the sound of the future.

If Rubber Soul marks a transition point for the Beatles in terms of musicality and studio techniques, then Revolver shows them fully committed to the change. Excellent album. Every song is good - kind of rare on a Beatles album as they generally have a few weird experimental offshoots of mixed success. Not such here. This is definitely one to listen to straight through.

My fave Beatles album! Nuff said.

Revolver contains many of my favourite Beatles songs, so this is an easy one. And I was today years old when I learned of the massive impact the production of Revolver had on the music industry due to its many new and unique recording and production techniques.

This might be my favourite Beatles album.

I don't think this is actually my favourite Beatles album, but it is entirely possible on any given day that if you asked which it was I may answer Revolver. There are plenty of successful bands who don't put out this many good songs over an entire career, The Beatles did it on this one album condensed into their already short length career. Banger after banger after banger. The greatest band of all time.

It's the psychedelia, mixed with wonderful songwriting, sprinkled with harmonies and perfected with well-meaning weirdness, for me!

Have listened countless times but each listen improves. This used to not be in the top 3 Beatles albums for me, but think it just moved up the ranks

GROUNDBREAKING OF ME TO SAY THIS WAS GREAT. Made even better right before seeing Paul McCartney in concert

Hvad er der ikke at sige???? SÅ GODT album - det totalt mondæne i teksterne blandet med lidt spiritualitet osv osv🙏🏼🙏🏼 længe leve billerne

Bedste billealbum ✨✨

The perfect in-between of pop Beatles and weird Beatles. Eleanor Rigby is the best song lacking standard pop instruments and I will take no questions. Five stars, top five album of all time for me

Classic

one of my favorite records EVER. they discovered acid and this was the final product!!!

This album is often credited as one of the first steps in psychedelia. I’m not going to disagree with that! Right after the Beatles decided to stop playing live, they made this record. Not playing live gave them the freedom to experiment and that was big. Personally, I think this is a stepping stone to the best era of Beatles (Sgt. Peppers thru the end), but without it, we wouldn’t have gotten there. I can’t remember if Revolver is pre or post Paul is Dead, but there is a good bit of George and some John combination songs. Not my favorite Beatles record, but a fantastic record nonetheless. I always find a new great song every time I listen to them!

A classic, pinnacle record.

I mean c'mon.

We all know this one is good

probably about a 4.5/5 for me, rounding up for here though. one of the first beatles albums i heard and probably one of my favorites. the vibes are immaculate, and i really wish a lot of the tracks were longer as they feel a bit too short? hence the .5 off. besides that every track slaps, and every track feels so whimsical and fun. you can tell that this was their first dip into making much more interesting music, as every album after this has the same type of whimsy that this album does.

Love it. Own it.

Wildly varied, and every song is outstanding. Eleanor Rigby, For No One, Yellow Submarine, Love You To, Tomorrow Never Knows, all on the same album. Listening to these as an album instead of individual tracks had given me a new appreciation. Some of these are truly arresting songs, and the confidence in this album is matched by the quality. A tour de force.

5 stars are not enough

Depois da mudança de rumo em Rubber Soul, Revolver estabelece a maturidade definitiva no som dos Beatles. Um disco muito à frente de seu tempo, com composições e interpretações feitas com esmero. Maravilhoso!

Brilliant album. Lots of great reviews here already that explain well why this album is beautiful in its own right as well as why it was so profoundly influential. Im still waiting for a negative review that actually makes sense (apart from those that simply note it’s just not their type of music).

This is the two hundred nineteenth album I’m rating. I've only listened to All Things Must Pass, but I did like it. Adding to my Playlist - Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I'm Only Sleeping, Here, There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, She Said She Said, Good Day Sunshine, And Your Bird Can Sing, For No One, Doctor Robert, I Want to Tell You, Get to Get You Into My Life, and Tomorrow Never Knows. Not Adding to my Playlist - Nothing. Eleanor Rigby - I've been an Eleanor Rigby hater for a while now, but now that I listen to it again I can't help but like it. All in all I liked 14/14 songs. I think I like George the best, but Paul is pretty good too.

A staple

One of my favorites.

I've only heard the Sgt Peppers album from the Beatles, and it makes me a bit fuzzy on the timeline when bands release albums every year and limited stuff can happen during this time. So this was before Sgt Peppers and after The Beatles pretty much got sick of the status quo and started to rediscover themselves. A lot of LSD, but before Paul McCartney tried it - He tried it for Sgt Peppers. This is the "Beatles are bigger than Jesus" album. It seems like more of the beginning of reinvention and self-discovery. Testing the waters for what can be accomplished in music from the use of non-traditional instruments to studio production techniques to the straight up invention of ADT (Artificial Doubling Technique) by Ken Townsend for this album specifically. And the ADT was without hyperbole completely revolutionary and changed music forever. A good prolific example of ADT in the world is in the song Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds on the Sgt Peppers album or I Want To Tell You on this album. The alien warbling of his voice is the effect of ADT, which is applied to a lot of instruments on Revolver. So people that don't understand or like the album need to understand that this album without exaggeration revolutionized the direction of music. It's ok to not like the music, but the technical impact of the album is undeniable. Personally, I prefer the Sgt Peppers album, but this one, of course, is excellent as well. I like I'm Only Sleeping and Love You To.

👏🏻😎

Love love love this album. No notes, it’s lovely. Listened to it 3 times through.

Great album and brilliantly cohesive despite the range of influences

Easy top 5 Beatles album - and it ain't 5. This album has more than its fair share of the hits, and is effectively the Fab Four at the height of their powers. Influence 5. Hits 5. Quality 5. Probably my second favorite Beatles album 5.

It’s a classic. I listened to a lot of the Beatles around college age, so its nostalgic too. “She Said She Said” sounds like it had a lot of influence.

Just so good. Difficult to differentiate its highlights because of its consistency. Fav tracks: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I’m Only Sleeping, Here There and Everywhere, For No One, Got To Get You Into My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows. Saved a song: Y RYM: Y (#16)

I hate to self advertise but I’m gonna do it anyway cuz I’m planning on listening to this album in a few days…. This is my thoughts on the beatles discography in a little blog I’ve been doing https://listeningearsmusicreview.blogspot.com/2025/10/discussing-every-beatles-song-ongoing.html?m=1 Revolver is a 5/5 tho

quizas el mejor album art de los beatles

Indescriptible

I was actually thinking “what if I get revolver today” before receiving my album today. and… guess who showed up? I’m somehow a failed prophet. Still some really good memories. New generations of elected American left wing politicians should learn from the lyrics of Taxman and employ the “one for you, nineteen for me” method on taxing the rich people. i want to tell you might be the only weak point on the album but everythign else is peak. here there and everywhere is literally paul's best song and i dont do drugs so tomorrow never knows didnt unleash its supposed power on me. easy 5/5

If anything, doing this challenge has managed to increase my already considerable esteem for the Beatles. I got deep into the Beatles as a teen and “Revolver” was one of my favorites. This is where you really see the direction they would take. Each track is its own unique marvel, a creative oddity in its own little world. The Beatles manage to craft these gems at the highest level, experimenting and innovating as they go. There are a couple of lesser tracks but that can’t take away from its essential five-ness.

Quite simply the epitome of what an album should be. Great song sequencing, great playing, and great songwriting. An iconic album cover and packaging. This one still sets the standard after 5 plus decades.

Say what you want about the Beatles. The fact remains that they changed popular music forever. Part of their legacy remains in-studio experimentation, which this album introduced to fans, listeners, and fellow artists/producers the world over. I can't overstate the impact that this album made on music.

I know almost the entire Beatles catalog, but I don’t know albums. I’m aware of this album, but never listened to it. Ok. I know most of these songs, but this album as a collection makes them even better. I love this album.

Magnífico

Awesome, classic

Classic. #2 Beatles album. 5/5

best Beatles album, one of my favorites of all time

An all around brilliant and amazingly experimental album for its time. Their experimentation with stereo sound in this era isn't for me, but pretty much everything else they threw at the wall stuck so who can blame 'em?

Greatest album from one of the best bands to ever exist. Absolutely faultless to me. It would get 6 stars if that was an option 👍

4.9 3x old fave

Tomorrow Never Knows might be the finest bit of music, and that alone would be enough for me. Then you throw in some of their best songs, how varied it gets musically.. even a random song about submarines can't hold it back (i do like yellow submarine though!)

Amazing album. IMHO The Beatles' best

So good. Unanimous 5. Deluxe version with new mix was good.

There's nothing to say about The Beatles that haven't been said. Masterpiece.

timeless

An outstanding set of songs from the Beatles at the high point of their creativity.

My all-time favorite Beatles album

Once again - incredible!

If you think the Beatles are overrated then i have to say that you overrate the weight of your music taste.

Start to finish, a foundational pillar of good music

Incredible album.

It's Revolver by The Beatles... the songs are much shorter than I remember but that's always a good thing in my book. Always leaves you wanting more... HL - Eleanor Rigby, Tomorrow Never Knows, For No One, I'm Only Sleeping

When I was young and listening to the Beatles (thanks to my mom) I thought this was a very good album. It was never one of my favorites of theirs, but I liked most of it. As I got older into my teenage years, I found this to be an excellent listen, feeling like I was watching the band become more and more who they would eventually become later, within the band and then as solo artists. Paul's songs are so unmistakably Paul. They are great pop songs, some with orchestral flourishes or even just with strings. John was firmly moving into two camps, with straightforward rockers as well as using tape loops and other effects with She Said She Said and Tomorrow Never Knows. And George was beginning to mess with the sitar and other Eastern instruments. Ringo was solid as a drummer as always, but Yellow Submarine would be his blueprint for later songs too. Listening again today made me feel even more that this is a great album by a great band. I was also thinking while listening what must've been going on in fan's minds when this first came out, trying to reconcile how far they'd come in just a couple of years.

Toujours aussi formidable (même si je ne me souvenais pas d'autant de cithare)

mon album préféré des beatles tout simplement

Simple, minimal instrumentation at once, sitar, production innovations Taxman She said Cot to get you in my life Tomorrow never knows

I’m starting to think these Beatles guys were good.

Kanskje Abbey Road. Men sannsynligvis Revolver.

Hvorfor låter dette albumet fortsatt så friskt? Kanskje det har noe med den nye stereomiksen å gjøre, men det er ikke alt. Gutta er i toppform kreativt og musikalsk. Det er gode poplåter i form av Doctor Robert, Got To Get You Into My Life og And Your Bird Can Sing.

One of my favorite Beatles albums.

This album feels like driving down the road with the window and sunroof open. Taxman and Good Day Sunshine is catchy, Eleanor Rigby is beautiful, Yellow Submarine is goofy, and Got to get you into my life is raucous. A really great album.

No tiene ninguno de los que para mí son los grandes temas del grupo, pero ha sido un muy buen disco en general.

Brilliant for so many reasons - variety, nuance, range of composition, execution, writing, instrumentation.....just great stuff.

A sign of a good album: When this popped up I immediately said, aloud, "Hell yeah." There's not a lot to say about this album that would break new ground. Rubber Soul seems for most to mark the moment when they truly catapulted creatively and that begins to crescendo here, continuing to peak over the next several albums following. For my money, the classic, four-chord R&B Beatles songs on Rubber Soul are, mostly, superior to the ones you find here, and the far out craziness and adventuresome stuff hits higher highs for me in Sgt. Pepper and especially Abbey Road. That is, however, sort of like saying that, I dunno, Albert Pujols wasn't as good as Babe Ruth. Everything pops here. It's astonishing the outpouring of genius these guys had in such a short time. A million monkeys in a million years might stumble on "Master of Puppets", but they'd still never replicate "Eleanor Rigby". The Beatles are amazing, and the fact that they have even *better* albums than this (IMHO) is bananas. (There's a small list of bands where their, like, fourth or fifth best album is still a perfect score. The only others I can think of immediately are the Stones, Radiohead, REM, and OutKast)

It's just a great, quick album with a lot of wonderful songs.

It’s Revolver

Who am I to give this album anything but a five? It is quite good. Though I do think I prefer Rubber Soul by a smidge.

Not many duds on here; in fact, maybe only one (For No One, if you must ask). I like Ringo's drum sound in Tomorrow Never Knows. I like the horns in Got to Get You Into My Life (even if they're busily sonically quoting Motown). I really like the sitar wherever it shows up. The album art is fantastic. Four stars. WAIT. Back to Tomorrow Never Knows. What a fucking great song. I mean really great. I can listen to it a lot and it doesn't grow old. One extra star for giving me that. Five stars.

Great of course. Particularly nostalgic for me because I taped it off the radio one time before I was buying music, and played it over and over again. Amazingly, I still enjoy most of the songs, especially "For No One," "I Want to Tell You," and "Tomorrow Never Knows."

5/5 - You need to hear this, because it's a masterpiece. I've listened to it many times and will keep on returning. I think it is The Beatles most representative album, as it has all their styles in one package. Yes, even Yellow Submarine has a role to play in this regard.

This was a good one! I really liked the experimental vibes with the unusual instruments.

Just the best!

Possibly the greatest album ever recorded. Better than Sgt Peppers

Somehow builds on the complete album that was Rubber Soul and perfects the format. Some really great songs on here and even the album tracks are among my favourites. Ending with the brilliance that is Tomorrow Never Knows must have blown minds. Such experimentation from a pop band.

Is I'm Only Sleeping my favourite Beatles song? It's definitely top 5.

Banger

I was always a Beatles hater, even though I had never intentionally sat down and listened to their music, because of the type of people that rave about the Beatles. I find that the two types of people that are really big fans of the Beatles are (1) old people who were teenagers in the 60s and 70s and the music is nostalgic for them and (2) people my age who think they're better than other people because they have an "old-school taste in music" and put down people like me who listen to modern pop music. These people telling me how great the Beatles are annoyed me into avoiding the Beatles and assuming that I wouldn't like their music. Goddamn I was wrong. I was so surprised how much I liked this album. It definitely holds up compared to 21st century music and is a solid 5/5 for me. My favorite songs off the album are "I'm Only Sleeping" and "Eleanor Rigby". My least favorite songs are "Yellow Submarine" and "Good Day Sunshine".

Another classic from the Beatles - the first of their psychedelic/studio-based era, and one hell of an intro to it. Featuring straightforward guitar pop bangers, orchestral accompaniments, music using Indian instruments and modes, and the most ambitious studio experiment in popular music to that point, the album really has it all, and once again demonstrates how the Fab Four were just in a league of their own.

These guys were just better at this shit than anyone else at the time. Extremely lukewarm take here but they were absolute masters at their craft and listening to this album just makes you appreciate that fact. And a lot of it was experimental!

Fuck, this album is so good. It was so groundbreaking in 1966 and it still sounds fresh today. This is the able everyone spent the late 60s trying to replicate and failing. The production is crisp, the variety in songs is amazing, and all four Beatles are popping off here. Their second best at least but possibly best album.

Very great album listen. I dont think most of the work well as stand alones though. decent 9

5/5 doesn't seem enough for Revolver, I'd give it 10/5 if I could. After Rubber Soul this was another step up entirely in how they made music; Eleanor Rigby's orchestral baroque pop, the LSD influence on She Said She Said and others, Harrison's use of sitars, the studio experimentation of Tomorrow Never Knows. And, like all of the Beatles great albums, it not only pushed boundaries but was also so damn listenable. For No One is surely one of their underrated and beautiful songs. Important and incredible

The greatest by the greatest. Broke down the walls that everyone afterwards walked through.

Really enjoyed this one. I don't want me giving a 5 to give the impression that I loved everything about it, but there's some really good songs in here - Eleanor Rigby above all. I really enjoy the Beatles sound and their experimentation - even if I'm not a fan of some of the experiments. Some solid rock songs and some true standouts.

8 year old Bethany knew nearly all of these songs by heart. It was nostalgic and reminded me of working with my dad growing up. I just really wish the Beatles never discovered the sitar or backmasking. They got weird.

Obvious bop. A great way to start the week this Monday morning. There were a couple songs that I didn’t lOve but they’re weren’t bad either. Standouts: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I’m Only Sleeping, Yellow Submarine 9/10

"Here, There, and Everywhere" "She Said She Said" "Good Day Sunshine" "For No One" all rock

The production is fantastic The songs are writ' tight The album is a classic So I listened to it twice

Great album - I’m only sleeping is my fave track

My second favorite Beatles album. Just so so good.

Revolver might be my favorite Beatles album, if only because it's the album where they stopped being the campy poppy stage band of the early 60s, and before they got full of themselves and went overboard with the experimental stuff in the late 60s. Plenty of tracks that walk the tightrope between both sounds.

oh lmao. I love revolver. I've listened to this album a good dozen times already. it's iconic man. perfect that the first gen'd album that I've already heard is from the motherfucking beatles taxman is such a fun silly opening track eleanor rigby is fucking gorgeous and so compelling and I love the strings I'm only sleeping is catchier than it deserves to be. it's probably one of their most impressive compositions love you to is pretty cool, it's my least favorite song on the album but it's nice seeing george branch out into the east asian stuff that he cooked with even more on sgt pepper's here there and everywhere is just delightful. love when paul does a softer ballad yellow submarine too! I'm a lover of all things ringo and this song is catchy and delightful! but his voice cracks at the 1:58 mark 0/10 song she said she said is a banger. not much to say here but I always love songs with subverted rhymes same with good day sunshine! it's wholesome :D and your bird can sing slaps so hard and john's range here is incredible for no one is probably their saddest and I'd put it as my third fav beatles track (behind a day in the life & in my life). having it after a song basically about the same thing but way less petty... damn. also I'm a big paul fan lol I said that already doctor robert is funny after for no one and I like when they sing about drugs I want to tell you is cool. probably the one I have the least thoughts on though GOT TO GET YOU INTO MY LIFE! (ba da ba ba ba baaaaaa) (one of my favorite straight pop-rock songs ever made) tomorrow never knows is such a fun capper even though they totally upstaged it on the next 2 albums lol yeah I love the beatles I had to be extra and talk a little bit about every track on this eternally amazing piece of media that's not even in my top 3 albums from them!! fav tracks: taxman, eleanor rigby, I'm only sleeping, here there and everywhere, yellow submarine, and your bird can sing, for no one, got to get you into my life, tomorrow never knows big huge enormous 5/5 there's a reason everyone on this whole world loves these silly men

Ex. I want to tell you et utilisation du mélisme. Les ballades sont sublimes (For No One et Here, There and Everywhere). Les effets de guitare (Taxman, your bird), envoûtants. Ça reste inégal malheureusement, mais pas autant que le tas de vomi qu'ils nous ont servi sur Sgt Pepper et Magical History Tour après (sorry, unpopular opinion). J'avoue skipper Yellow Submarine et Got to get you into my life souvent.

Un classique! Avec du beau sitar à l’occasion.

One of their best albums.

September 4, 2025 Album #733: Revolver by The Beatles Genre: Rock, Pop, Psychedelia, R&B I wasn’t expecting to get to this album so soon after Sgt. Pepper. And in the shoes of my review for that, what really is there for me to say? It’s fucking Revolver! It’s often regarded as one of the best albums of all time, as well as one of the most influential albums of all time. It’s weird to think that there was nothing in pop music that sounded like this when it released. *Taxman* is a fantastic opener, though the classic *Eleanor Rigby* follows in its footsteps with its melancholic strings. The following tracks, *I’m Only Sleeping* with its hints of psychedelia, and John’s nasally vocals and *Love You To’s* Hindustani influence showcase the experimentation on this album. The iconic *Here, There, and Everywhere* which showcases Paul’s vocals, and *She Said She Said*, showcases how sincere and amazing the love songs on this album are. The kiddy *Yellow Submarine* introduced me to the Beatles, so I have a soft spot for it, haha. Though, there are some songs that are weak compared to others here, like *Good Day Sunshine* and *Doctor Robert*, but it should be said that these songs aren’t bad. However, the experience this album builds leads to one of the best album closers of all time, *Tomorrow Never Knows*. It turns the experimentation up to 11, and it still sounds fantastic. This album is essential listening for any music lover. I highly recommend it, it’s a stone cold classic. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Strong 8 to a Light 9 Favorite Tracks: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I’m Only Sleeping, Love You To, Here, There, and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, She Said She Said, For No One, Got to Get You Into My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows

One of the greatest albums ever.

Father McKenzie would agree that this is a 5 star album. The album that made the Beatles the biggest band ever. Plus, Yellow Submarine is fun, stop hating on it

Timeless classic

My favourite Beatles album! Great songs and masterful melodies.

I have the first two and last two tracks of this album liked. That pretty much sums up the album for me, a strong start and end, with a bit of "interesting" filler. I would rarely, if ever, go out of my way to listen to this album by choice. However, I'm still giving it five stars. Although this is too basic for my tastes, it has to be said that much of the "more sophisticated" music I adore would probably never have existed without this album being produced. The filler also is very interesting indeed, not really something I enjoyed hearing, it's too short and raw, but they chuck everything at this album and almost all of it sticks. There's reverse guitar, sitar, trippy electronic effects, some standout drumming, and yes, there's "Yellow Submarine".
