Oh dear. No. I can't do this. Yuck. I may be of distant Irish descent, but I can't take this album seriously. Is it a parody? Even if I was on vacation in Dublin in the 70's and Phil Lynott happened to buy me a pint or two, I couldn't handle this as the background track. Who wrote this book!
Felt like I was in a. Irish pub…
Methheads perform carnival music.
Stunk
St Patrick’s day music. Couldn’t finish this.
golly! totally exchangeable irish folk music...
This is like novelty music to me. It might as well be an album of one-man-band songs. I can barely stomach this shit every St Patrick’s day and when I drank, it was shitty Pogues songs that I’d wash down with hard whisky, not the other way around. Fucking 1 Star
Not my style
I wish I could go back to who I was before I listened to this album
🤢
I’m sorry but it was painful listening to this guys voice and the horrible repetitiveness of this album!
I couldn't make it thru. folk punk is not great
this is so far from my taste in music I just can't really listen. Maybe I'll come back another time
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- If I Should Fall from Grace with God Not a fan of folk music and especially folk music where I don't understand what is being said (I have a feeling I will be saying this about most songs in this album) 2- Turkish Song of the Damned Definitely a better song than its predecessor, a lot better, but not good enough to warrant me adding it to my playlist 3- Bottle of Smoke I love the YEEEEWWWWW (all these songs sound the same to me) 4- Fairytale of New York THEY SAID THE F WORD!!! (the gay one) that's all I remembered about this song 5- Metropolis no 6- Thousands Are Sailing no 7-Fiesta no I CBA LISTENING ANYMORE I DONT LIKE THIS TYPE OF MUSIC SORRY IRISH PEOPLE TOP 3: NOOOO
This is my kind of album! Reminds me of my time in the south 👴🏻 Music: 1/5 The guy in the middle's aerodynamics: 1/5 (I'm sorry I just cannot physically understand the appeal of folk)
dumb! Dumb!! DUMB!!! This is just stupid silly music that’s very watered down and saturated. It feels like they were all just hanging out at a pub, and decided “let’s do Irish punk for bar fighting”, and there they went, off to the races! Making the most cliché, stereotypical music that would sound like bar fighting Irish punk. This is music that you would only play on st. Patti’s day in a bar for a pub crawl, or background music for a funny bar fighting movie scene, but it’s hard to take it as serious music because it lacks authenticity which is why I said it’s watered down and saturated.
Irish pirate music is just not my thing, unless I am exactly 3 Guinness’s deep at the wee pub. Would’ve maybe given it two stars if they didn’t say the f word twice
You can only listen to so much Celtic Punk & typically it has to be closer to St. Patty's Day. 🙃
More garbage
This might nearly take the cake for the worst album I’ve listened to on here
Nah. Seems wrong to give an album 1 star that includes Fairytale of New York but I was just waiting for this to end and don’t see myself ever coming back to it. I’m sure it’s a great album if you love Irish folk but it was very much not for me.
Not the type of music I enjoy, like not at all
NO - Polka!
If there was an Irish spin on a Polka Festival that took place in the Boston Harbor, this would probably be the soundtrack
bro the way they reorganized the tracklist for the expanded edition irks me so bad. like HOW do og tracks become bonus tracks in the reissue????? bottle of smoke is kinda tough bro what is that interpolation on metropolis...crazy vibe switch and damn an even crazier vibe switch with fiesta "guys what if we all just cheered haha like we were all like super hype" -a really smart guy who is really good at making music
Really didn’t enjoy this one. Not a fan of Irish music.
Not a fan
Irish Pub background music. No pot of gold at the end of this rainbow.
Except for track 4: Fairy Tale of NY, this record is not my cup of tea. Truthfully, this music genre kills my soul. I am not a fan. It kinda hurts.
i hate it just not my thing, i guess makes me regret all one-star ratings thus far, as i enjoyed all of them more than this ⭐
Not my jam. I found it difficult to take in the lyrics, which I imagine is the main focus of this music. Standout Track: Worms
Not for me
Wtf is this. Didn't expect this kind of music to appear, but it just shows the variety of the albums.
Could not finish, just so not my thing. Felt like I was in an adventure, medieval video game, completing a quest somewhere in a pub or a tavern, where a bunch of fat, angry, red-headed men are drinking beer and burping. Not a fan. Fairytale of New York was a bit more manageable to listen to. I guess Kirsty MacColl was the slightly redeeming part.
Awful shit
Giving this a 1 because i can't stand their christmas song that gets played to death. Didn't even listen to album. What a bastard man i am.
Unlistenable
Don't like it, Irish djanglin
Did not finish; not my style
The album that gave us THE go-to karaoke song for guys who have make their drinking problem their personality.
Really just not my style of music :(
Aside from the obvious hit single, the album didn't really resonate with me.
what the fuck is this lool
nej
Folk-rock, med for meget vægt på folk, harmonika, virkelig en vibe
just dont think the pogues are for me
Verschrikkelijk! -5 sterren
Nope.
Ik heb echt een bloedhekel aan de Pogues. Dronkemans-gewauwel.
The Pogues are a unique and dynamic band but their style doesn’t get a lot of mileage with me. I do love the drunkard’s brogue of the lead singer but I can’t do much Irish folk music.
I'm sorry but it all just sounds silly to me
No ty
I'm sure that this is a great album as far as Irish folk music is concerned. Problem is, Irish folk music is an unrelenting assault on my eardrums and my better senses. Maybe you have to be Irish to understand it -clearly I'm not Irish.
Apart from Fairytale in NY I really can’t get into the vast majority. Too much fiddle.
👎🏼
Waarom staat dit er tussen
Not for me
This genre of music is almost painful to listen to.
не ну вот если окажусь в лондоне в пабе в 15какомнить году, то угарну за это, а так...
no bueno
Nope.
Not for me
Only one song
Irish Got second vaccination
What the
Really isn't any different than the other album on this list. Why both are needed is beyond me. There's too many conditions you need in order to like this: be drunk, be drunk with friends, your friends have to be drunk, you have to be at a pub, you have to be at an Irish pub, you have to be in the mood to sing Irish folk punk, then you can enjoy this. Since there's so many conditions needed you probably don't need both these Pogues albums. Choose one and you're ok.
