Reviews (page 8 of 8)

An artist I knew of but don’t know. I found it quite difficult to listen to. I doubt I’ll be listening again

I did not enjoy this record at all.

Boring and easily forgettable. Half way through the second track I was waiting for the album to kick off and it never did. Very tough to get through the whole album.

At first I thought her voice was going to be like Bjork but sadly it was more like a mix between Brittney Spears and Billie Eilish. I wanted to like this but I feel like she was trying so hard to be good. The background music was fine and my favorite song was where she wasn't really singing. Didn’t enjoy 2/10

This is some of the worst shit I have ever heard in my life. Every single song was overproduced, over sexualized garbage. The beats are generic crap that play on a cheap drum machine from Walmart and even then they can’t keep a beat. Half of the sounds that aren’t electronic noise are out of tune. Her breathy voice is so fucking annoying, her tempo is dog shit, and her lyrics are horrible, like they were written by a confident teenager who thinks they have talent. I actually struggled to make it through this repetitive STD of an album. 1/10

Got what I wanted and it was awful

not my style

Ehhh not for me, I came into this project super excited to listen to FKA twigs and just was not impressed.

I had a bit of a mix up when seeing I’d been generated this album. I thought that FKA twigs was that person married to Musty Musk, but that’s Grimes. I’m not sure if I know FKA twigs, but I hope we can all agree that that is a very rubbish artist name. Seriously. FKA twigs. Are we running out of names or something? Songs I already knew: none Favourites: Two Weeks Unfortunately, I found myself getting quite bored while listening to this, leading to times when my concentration lapsed and I stopped listening completely. It didn’t exactly sound horrible, it was just dull and didn’t really engage me as a listener. Each to their own, but I don’t really feel that I gained anything from listening to this album. Certainly shan’t be rushing to listen to more by her. I mean seriously, FKA twigs?

40 minutes of super high pitched/autotuned vocals sang over some wannabe acid/ambient techno?????

I came into this album thinking I would enjoy it based off what I've heard about FKA, but man was I disappointed. The beats would be interesting if the tracks were halved, and I just didn't find anything appealing about her style of singing.

It was a rough one to get through. The follow up of Glass Animals put out into perspective and helped to understand it's place. Still, it wasn't particularly enjoyable.

Quite boring and not very memorable

Not a away of this kind a music.

You can tell she harkens to Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Brisbane's own Kate Miller-Heidke. But there's a massive difference: they are all eccentric with high voices but the other three actually sing coherent songs. I don't know what this singer is supposed to be doing, but it isn't musical - just random noises. This is one of the worst things I've ever listened to.

Drum machine, ick

Não é pra mim.

Couldn't get through the first song.

She has a nice voice but everything else was just not good.

It felt wandering and aimless. I love off beat sounds and psychedelia, but this one isn’t it.

This is not a good album. It is very eccentric and I am not sure what she is trying to accomplish. There are parts where the music is good but then an odd decision is made it goes a completely direction. The lyrics are not good. I don't care for her voice. The album got "better" later on. I have no desire to listen to this album again or to listen to more music by this artist. It is better than a one, not really a two.

Best and still bad song: Give Up (I will now after hearing this) Bad songs and bad pop. I didn’t have to hear this. I hate the music more than the cover.

Everything I hate about modern music. Ethereal background noise, breathy vocals, other random electronic noises, filthy lyrics ("Two Weeks"), and it never gets into a groove. Ugh, how many more British electronic albums am I going to have to endure for this challenge?

ayyyy fka twigs? mwoa like FKA DIS! AYYY ugatz

Didn’t listen but maliciously voting 1 star on every electronic elevator music album

Horrible, sounded like a baby banging on a pot. No stars for me but have to give one to move on.

Bad. Lots of breathy singing and moaning to Flume-style beats. Honestly one of the first albums I considered not completing. Nevertheless, I persisted.

I don’t get it. One or two interesting sounds. Like Bjork. Why is this album on the list?

Pop of the worst sort - and I like well made Pop songs. But there is none of those to be found here. In fact, there are no real songs anywhere, as this is more a bunch of overproduced electronic arrangements on top of which the singer is trying to vocalise random words or sentences - I dare not call them lyrics. There is no real musical idea here, and nothing that speaks to or touches me in any way. This is an atrocious waste of time. 1/5

I mean, really? Whatever. Music should have songs, tunes, that sort of thing.

There was an attempt to be an "artist", I'll say that. I just found the high-pitched, soft and breathy vocals were too much of a try-hard. Felt like a very poor attempt at emulating Björk's vocal and musical style. Not good.

Just painful. I appreciate this album is weird.. but it's bad weird, like chocolate cake with mustards.

should not be on this list

I enjoyed Two Weeks, but it just sounds too modern for my taste, a lot of cacophonous beats and her voice is beautiful, so it kept jarring me throughout.

It isn’t my mysict! I didn’t like it..

Some interesting music but the lyrics weren't up to much

She definitely has a good voice but this isn’t for me at all Only got worse after I wrote this ^

Not for me.

I didn't listen to this, I endured it. I hated this so much. Thank God it wasn't long. This is so much of what I hate about pop music in recent years. I will say that her voice is not bad but she doesn't use it well at all. That makes this pile of garbage even worse

Every 2nd or 3rd song this almost broke out into actual music, but most of the time this sounded like floorboards creaking while someone whimpered in the background. Fuck off, honestly. And stop trying to feed me shit from the UK every day. 1/5.

This is rubbish

Pretentious nonsense squeaking Cover art: 3/5

I hate it. It’s just high pitch breathing. Not a word of English
