Reviews (page 11 of 13)
I like some of the blues licks, but overall it's a forgettable album. Didn't dislike any part of it, though!
Sure. Another Neil album. Of course I like it. But far down the list of his best
Not on Spotify anymore
3.5
Unfortunately, I had to listen to this on YouTube (due to his Spotify situation). Regardless, the album is actually quite nice. Better than I expected! Not a big folk guy in general, but I appreciate what he's done on here.
Very nice. 3/5
Enjoyable. I don't care for Neil Young or this type of music generally, but it was good enough to keep my attention. "Revolution Blues" was good, "On The Beach" was very chill. On the other hand, "For the Turnstiles" was genuinely awful. That's the only bad song though, the rest is just fine. Nothing I would willingly listen to, but I wouldn't turn it off if it started playing on Spotify shuffle. OH WAIT
Didn’t love or hate any of the songs but my fav was ambulance blues, 7.5 out of 10
Neil is a good man and this was a good album. It didn't exactly take me to the beach, but I'd be glad to listen to it if I was there. I particularly liked See the Sky about to Rain, again, not quite what you want at the beach.
It's Neil Young, but he's on the beach. I don't know if this is core Neil Young or not, but I enjoy the style for what it is. Reminds me of Kurt Vile, who's no doubt inspired by Mr. Young. I appreciate the long, hypnotic tracks on here. I'd definitely put this ahead of the previous NY album that we received. Favorite tracks: For the Turnstiles, On the Beach, Ambulance Blues. Album art: Picture of the beach, is that Neil in the background? I really like the buried car. 3.5/5
bara fínt
Neil Young on yksi mun vähiten kuunnelluista ”isoista” rokkareista.
Enjoyed the album. Young’s lyrics and music were enjoyable and moving
redelijk blues-gehalte. Best oké
Not on Spotify. Couldn’t listen.
The world seems to want me to listen to Neil Young so badly, and I want just as badly to never listen to Neil Young ever again. It's not bad. In fact, in a lot of ways its good music. It's just that Neil Young is a fucking bummer, and I don't need it. Neil Young is the type of person who goes to the beach to complain about the sand. 3/5 (again, it's not bad, it just makes me feel like life is not worth living)
This is classic Neil Young. I love how sloppy and under-produced it is. How can something so bad be so good? I don’t know, but I dig it.
Tricky to listen now he's dropped off Spotify. Always like a bit of grumbling canadian - this is no different, no absolute bangers though, so just 3 stars
A couple of excellent tracks, and some very nice bass playing.
Nice, easy listening album. Very typical Neil.
Stabilt Neil Young album. Inga superstarka bangers men annars toppen!
Overall good album, easy listening
I feel like there’s a lot of Neil Young on this list? I was pleasantly surprised by this one though - more bluesy and funk influences than I expected.
This is an album I should give another try, and on a beach. Listening to it in the heart of São Paulo didn’t seem the best option for a first trial, but I like it.
It's pretty good.
Not really my thing
Good album, but not my favorite from Neil Young
I like his music in general, but, this album wasn't 5* for me.
Aye, not bad, actually. Was expecting boring crooning, but there were some bops here. Fav new track: Walk On
bit cheerful for Neil
This is a Neil Young album I've never heard. My go to albums are after the gold rush and harvest, with others thrown in. This one I've somehow ignored, so far. I'm glad this one is on my list cause it's solid early-ish Neil Young. Probably won't become a staple in my rotation, but a worthy album for sure. They can't all be bangers, I s'pose.
Neil Young has a way with simplicity, making more with less. this was a good period for him.
Was an ok album to pass the time.
Damn, Neil Young can be a bummer. A competent album, mostly a collection of culturally appropriated blues.
Neil Young is usually good and rarely great in my estimation. I liked this album; it had some stompin' tracks and some more low-key tracks. It's not Harvest, but I'm glad I listened.
Rating: 5/10
Definitely a good album, and it has a few fantastic songs, but some just feel like standard Neil Young fare
Starts too cool, then slows it coolness down, but still a decent lp
Góð plata. Frekar róleg en góð.
Folk rock
Carrie Snodgrass. That's a blast from the past. Ambulance Blues stands up with the best of Young's work. I got this on CD not long after it had (finally) been re-released. It was already been discounted heavily, which was a surprise. At first. If (a huge counterfactual here) Youtube had been around a decade earlier, would this record have attained a cult status? I think not. It's not quite the digression from the commerciality (bestowed retrospectively) of Harvest, it's a rather middling endeavour. But scarcity created a sense of value.
Solid
Nice, yes, but extraordinary? No

Первое отчетливо слышно на Motion pictures, второе - на For the Turnstiles. Ambulance blues, Walk On, See the Sky About to Rain.
Soulful, slow, a little depressing.
okay
It's alright, standard folk
Classic Neal Young.
“We got 25 rifles to keep the population down” For the turnstiles
Solid album…liking Neil young more and more
Pleasantly surprised. Consistent throughout.
I enjoyed listening to this. He has a nice voice and I like the instrumentals
It was OK, none of the songs really connected with me.
Good
I liked the vampire song
It isn't exactly revolutionary, but the album packs in some slightly depressing, yet hopeful songs into its short runtime. Favorite songs are "Walk On," "Revolution Blues," and "Vampire Blues." Least Favorite Song is "For the Turnstiles."

36. Rasga-me o xaile que a saudade virou baile. MotA: Motion Pictures (For Carrie) "I hear some people been talking me down"
Pretty good. Not my cup of tea, but glad I'm familiar with the album now.
Decent not something normally listen too.
Seems like Neil had fun making this album, and just tossed it together in a few days. The lyrics seem to be letting a lot of despair out in a therapeutic way, and the musicianship is top notch throughout. No real standout tracks but the album is solid throughout.
I was expecting great things from Neil Young's "On the Beach", as I find that "After the Gold Rush" is a terrific record. After listening to this one, I am convinced that it lacks what I appreciated most on his previous attempt. Honestly, I find most tracks to be unengaging, with simplistic melodies and, at times, boring. Walk On, See the Sky and Revolution Blues are pretty good tracks, but it mostly ends there. As for For the Turnstiles, I find that Young's singing is ragged and truly awful. Vampire Blues and On the Beach are way too long and sleep-inducing, Motion Pictures is OK and Ambulance Blues drags on for 3 minutes too long. In conclusion, a 3 is barely warranted.
pretty good, nothing stands out but it's a vibe
pretty good blues album. more poppy than bluesy. 3.5
I am not a big Neil Young fan but the album was better than I expected.
Always reliably great
Perfectly fine. I may not be a Neil Young fan.
I mean, it's ok Favorites: Walk On See The Sky About To Rain On The Rain
Half the time had no idea what he was talking about but it sounded good
bah c'est cool ça doit bien s'écouter en voiture Fav: Revolution blues
Good songs. Great lyrics. Not memorable.
Pretty mellow, especially for running, but never say no to Neil Young. Enjoyable.
Not too bad, actually. With zero general interest in Neil Young, this was a pretty listenable album.
I mean it’s ok. That pretty much sums this album up for me...and also pretty much any other by Neil Young. Very good song writer obviously, but lyrics only create an impact when they find an angle to relate or they are accompanied by music that’s exciting and heightens an emotion in the listener. I’m yet to experience either of those phenomenons whilst listening to Neil Young’s music...and this album didn't change that. I do understand the appeal for others though and this album is more than listenable, which is why I’m not it rating too harshly. 3 Stars!
I really want to like Neil Young but he's just quite boring
Nice easy listen. Liked the vampire song.
Not his finest
Nice enough.
Not bad but not one of his best
I was told there is a lot of Neil Young on the 1001 list and I was expecting everything other than Harvest to suck. I was pleasantly surprised - I enjoyed this, though it went by fast & I didn’t take any detailed notes.
Enjoyed way more than i thought i would
Good niel young listening but not life-changing
melancholic. slow
Some awesome minimalist songs, and a few that drag in that blotch a genuine honey pot of an album
Mon hit: For the turnstiles, j'aime toujours un peu de banjo.
Not as good as some of his other stuff
NY halt - 3
Neil Young is one of the greats that I wished I enjoyed more. A couple excellent songs, but most of them just floated by in the background for me.
I didn't know Neil had such a bluesy side.
Hey, that's pretty good
Prima wegluister album, neil young zijn stem is super
Average, I didn't enjoy the country themes
Nice mellow sound, and pretty much what I expected from good ol' Neil, but not much energy and just kinda plods along.
Not my favourite Neil Young album but still enjoyed it.
Nice rock album, some slow folksy ones too. Revolution Blues is my favorite.
Many better albums
Not nearly an achievement like "Harvest."
bluesy and folksy. the album started off stronger then it finished.
Favorites: For the Turnstiles, Motion Pictures Walk on: some of the vocals could be better. I like the trumpet/sax bit - 0.75 See the Sky About to Rain: good, but kind of slow - 0.75 Revolution Blues: good - 0.75 For the Turnstiles: very folky - 1 Vampire Blues: cringey lyrics, but good groove - 0.75 On the Beach: guitar solo is solid, but the song kind of drags - 0.5 Motion Pictures: harmonica makes this song - 1 Ambulance Blues: way too long - 0.25 Whole album has a consistent vibe - 0.25 Total: 6/8

A última canção é muito, muito boa
One of my fav Neil Young records. Want on vinyl.
beachy!
false
Just ok
Pretty nice, the drumming is awful though. I love Neil’s songwriting and vocals tho. The other musicians are ok.
Wasn't familiar with this album. Not all that memorable, but I didn't dislike it.
Love Neil but not this album
More Neil Young, just a day after Rust? Sorry, the voice just grates. 2 again for his influence
As someone who generally enjoys folk music, this didn't do it for me. The only thing keeping me rating it lower is that the last two tracks of the album were pretty damn good. So it at least ended on a good note. Otherwise though, it felt bland as hell.
Yeah, Neil Young. Never really my thing. OK, I suppose.
There's songs that I love by Neil Young, but man this album really was boring. Not really anything memorable outside of 2 songs, and even then those weren't anywhere close to his best. I can't say this really gave me beach vibes either. 2/5
Notable Textzeile: Yes, that was me with the doves, setting them free near the factory Where you build your computer love I hope you get the connection 'cause I can't take the rejection I won't deceive you, I just don't believe you Langsam gewöhne ich mich an Neil Young, und ich weiß gar nicht ob ich das möchte.
Neil Young is the Trina Vega of soft-rock - the music behind him is actually not bad, clearly there is genuine musical talent here, but he's singing like someone who thinks they're really really good, when they're really not. His voice is tinny and feeble, which makes everything whiny and limp. Give it up, Delicious, keep that microphone on the guitar, make the album fully instrumental, and we'll call it square.
187. ok
Rather underwhelmed with this album. I love Harvest Moon but know little else from Neil Young. This felt very middle of the road and uninspiring.
Some of the jams are good but a bit of a dull back to back listen.
Benlik değil
Fand ich öde.
Neil Young isn't really my bag. I find his vocal quality just north of, say, Bob Dylan? I got into maybe one track, 'revolution blues.' Possibly the only song here with any real energy.
How did this guy get 6 albums on the list? CanCon popularity?
This didn’t sound like the beach at all. Worse yet, it was terribly boring. I’ve had about five albums Neil Young is in some way credited on and this has got to be the driest….just like the sand of the beach? Was that what he was going for?
Sons muito bons e letras legais
I found this album slightly boring, if I'm being honest. There wasn't much pulling me in, and nothing to really keep me wanting to listen. I think the vocals were okay, but the main thing that stood out to me was the sort of classic synth sound used in a few of the tracks. It added a nice layer to the songs. Unfortunately, that didn't make up for the lack of interest I had throughout the album. It's a shame, as I was really wanting to enjoy this. Songs that stood out: See the Sky About to Rain For the Turnstiles Motion Pictures (For Carrie)
My 2nd Neil Young album and I am not a fan of the guy. Have no idea how he got 7 albums on here while making some of the blandest songs ever made. His voice irritates me so much, especially on slower songs. I liked some of the instrumental, but any enjoyment I would have is ruined by Neil's whiny voice. Favorite Track - Revolution Blues Least Favorite Track - For The Turnstiles ⭐️⭐️
One of the Neil Young albums of all time
Really wanted to like this more. Just didn't. Sorry.
Oh god, not looking forward to this… oh f*. That album cover is torture. Oh… I am going to try to be open minded, really. Om Man, this is saved in my albums, so I made myself listen to this already. Well… can you tell I am not feeling Neil? Idk. I need to stop flailing about and just dive in… You know Neil, you ARE a vampire. Sucking the joy from my very being. I know, I know, how can I say that about NEIL YOUNG? The beloved NEIL YOUNG. Well you know what? He doesn’t get better for me. He gets more annoying and aggravating. He needs a crowd of people, but he can’t face them day to day. Yeah. I hear you. It’s like me facing this album. God, he’ll get a 2. I want to give him a 1, but I can’t. He’s insightful. I mean I get it. But the delivery brings me down. And buries me beneath the sand. Boolean: yes mom, I suppose so
So far, we have made many sober observations about Neil Young. But a long, bank holiday weekend is no time for sobriety. Neither is there time to waste in thinking too hard about On the Beach, when there is a beach near-by and two dogs that need walking. Better than Ragged Glory. Not so good as Rust Never Sleeps. The appearance of Levon Helm and Rick Danko genuinely makes a difference on their one song, but it is only one song, which is not enough. 1.5 Thank goodness we got a Neil Young album this weekend. I was devoting so much time and thought to why I don’t like Pet Shop Boys’ Actually that I was very grateful for an album that I could prejudge so easily. Still - Neil is just about as good as he gets when he is being morose, as he is on the second half of this album. He’s a dreadful guitar player but it works for him when he is in that mood. The pitiable saw-work of his right hand on Motion Pictures or the laborious picking on Ambulance Blues sits nicely with the image of an old man - the arthritis pushing between him and his venerable acoustic - sitting ill-postured on the porch thinking back on his victories and regrets. While the ducks are callin’. Oh to be 29 and shit at guitar. And singing of course. 1.5/5
Another Neil Young. I'm not sure what this is doing here tbh. It's fine as it is, but I don't see it contributing anything that isn't done better by another NY album. It's probably perfectly fine in isolation, but I got to the end and shrugged. Gets a 2 because it's not utterly offensive, just a bit dull.
possibly the best of the neil young albums we've had, though thats not saying much
meh
the goats are The Board
ok
You can tell that Mike Scott has heard this. Revolution Blues is the mother of Be My Enemy.
The combination of whiny vocals and more or less the same arrangements every song. Certainly an acquired taste
Bit dull for me might have to give it a relisten as it seems to have really good reviews but imo its incredibly slow and lacks a bit of edge. Loved the song ambulance blues though the vocal melody was brilliant
It was not for me
4/10 - unfortunately quite boring, luckily it's not too long
Had interesting moments. But I think I need to face it — this project isn’t going to make me love Neil Young or Bob Dylan, no matter how many albums it forces me to listen to. I thought this album was different. I even kind of enjoyed the first couple of songs. But then it alternated between whiny and boring. I don’t know. I guess I’m an uncultured swine. 3/10 Ho Hum
I wasn't paying enough attention while listening to this album, but when I was, it was not very interesting
Do I know Neil young? Yes. Could I name a song? No. Did I enjoy this album? Also no.
it's fine
I liked this album. I listened to it as I was packing up to move out from my student house. I liked the following songs: Walk On Vampire Blues
Look, I get that this list is full of Young aficionados, but 1001 is making me realize I like his music LESS than I previously thought. If any one of us with a guitar and three chords TRIED to get a listen from any label with these songs, we'd legitimately get thrown out on our ass. I know some Young, I didn't know this album, and came away realizing I didn't need to. All love to those who like NY, but it would be a very long pitch to get me over to your side with LPs like this.
I went in with an open mind and wow. The vibes were right, the singing was not. This album would gain an extra 2 stars if it was just instrumentals instead of his out of tune singing. Maybe I’ll come back to this, will have to see how his other work is. Always baffles me how these people can get famous on such mediocre skill.
2 Neil Young albums in a row? REALLY???
Another Neil Young album - but this one was a little bit better. I still don't like Neil Young.
It's hard to tell if Neil Young is angry sometimes. He certainly doesn't sound the part. The theme here wasn't missed on me or anything, as Mr. Young was obviously successful at this point already and I sure he struggled to grapple with each of the things (good or bad) that came with said success and stardom. I guess it just isn't the most relatable piece of work. When undergoing this album challenge, you simply have no choice but to be exposed to Neil Young and I think his more spirited works were behind him at this point.
If Bob Dylan was more melancholic. Not a bad album but a bit drawn out imo. I like the album cover though, very nice image. Favourite tracks: For The Turnstiles, Vampire Blues 2.5/5
Neil young is proof you don’t need to be able to sing or play guitar to be a successful singing guitarist
hm, i think it was a decent album. musically it was amazing and really sets a "sitting in front of the porch, drinking iced tea" vibe, not too much beach imo. liked, but wouldn't rave about it!
Not so much my style. The album cover though!
Listening to this feels like the sonic equivalent to the episode of Documentary Now! where Hader freeassociates the entire episode
Why is Neil back again. Please leave. I guess this record in particular is a little bit better than the rest, but still I hate this guys voice.
Whether he's on a stash, with a horse, whether it's tonight, or on a beach, I just can't get into Neil Young. Every time I think "this has to be the last time I will listen to albums with Neil Young in it", just to find out they're like Russian Nesting dolls. Look, I really want to like Neil Young's music. I grew up listening to "Southern Man", and "Ohio", he was ahead of his time, and from a political standpoint, he's adept. However, his clever songwriting is brought down by his extremely dull instrumental play, and lifeless production. Favorite Track: "For The Turnstiles".
I had never heard this before, although I had heard _of_ it. I like "Vampire Blues." Overall, though, it doesn't grab me enough to want to listen to it again right away. Maybe it just doesn't fit my mental state today. The album cover does exactly match the vibe of the music, though.
I can only guess the nasal drawl comes from having a stick so far up his arse its exiting a nostril?
Kind of forgettable.
Ittje denne stranda....
I don't know what makes this special? Fine, I guess.
Ok
Walk on was fave tune
Neil young just doesn't do it for me. Boring, whiny, not my vibe.
Boring
Ok
Walk on On the beach Revolution blues Vampire blues
Not great. It's like a shit Rolling Stones for me.
I...I didn't hate this?
Yup it’s a Neil Young album.
Sets the bar high with walk on. Doesnt come close after that.
Not for me.
Meh, it's okay.
meh. mid. the carrie soundtrack one and the one about vampires kind of saved it
This was ok but not something I would Go back to
Huh. I thought I liked Neil Young more than this. Disappointing.
Hippy wallowing. Annoying drone.
Not for me, didn't mind some of the blues-y tracks but nothing that blew me away. 0/8 songs liked.
Mid album from an amazing artist.
Not my cup of tea. Never really liked Neil Young and I tried to go into this album with an open mind, but I just couldn't get into it
I think the songwriting is pretty good here and an improvement on the early stuff, but I can't get behind Neil Young as a frontman at all. Was highly anticipating the last song as I've heard some good covers but it was not enjoyable to listen to. Just disappointing, I think better than the early stuff but still not there yet
Boring
..
Very '70s. The sound of this era irritates me. Quite boring.
he has better ones for sure why is this here
A collection of ordinary and mostly dull rock songs, lacking the distinctive songcraft of *After The Gold Rush* or *Harvest*. (When three of the song titles are "Revolution Blues", "Vampire Blues" and "Ambulance Blues", the outlook for any kind of inventive rock and roll is pretty dire.) Only the title track conjures up any kind of atmosphere (though the lyrics are typical rock star navel-gazing.)
Never been a huge fan of Neil Young, not sure this album changes anything. Decent music but his voice just grates one me. I mean pretty boring stuff but would probably be a chill album to listen to if you were on the beach. Nothing offensive but nothing that really stands out either.
great, now there are *two* beaches that can make you old.
Some good songs, but ultimately held back by Neil Young's atrocious singing.
Ok
If he just had someone else sing his songs, they could be so good.
No
Being a huge fan of Neil Young I was disappointed by the album. The album opens with the song walk on and quickly goes downhill from there.
Always ends up near the top when people rank Neil Young but it’s just kinda there for me. Still Neil Young so still better than most things.
Solid songwriting and guitar tones. But oof, Neil Young’s voice was grating me on this one.
Oh Neil Young again🙄
A little ramshackle and insecure. But in a good way. I am an avowed Neil fan, but I had never heard much from this album. I'm not surprised by its obscurity.
Grating
Didn’t quite do something for me. Although the turnstiles song is fun, I could hear the influence he had on Jack White
Sounds like music I’d listen to at a geezer pub. Best paired with low energy and a proper ale
“It was such a drag to hear him whining all night long” van het liedje revolution blues is lowkey hoe ik me voelde toen ik naar dit album luisterde
Neil Young's voice isn't for me.
Neil Young's voice went from bad to worse as this album went through, and the quality of music following IMO. He's kind of approaching Bob Dylan territory for me.
Just kinda meh tbh, there's really nothing that good here
I have to be in the mood to listen to Neil Young, sometimes he makes me sleepy
Meh. I didn’t dislike this as much as I thought I would but I didn’t like it either. While I enjoy Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, I never really got into Neil Young. His voice is a bit too whiny for me and the music all blends together. Nothing for my ears to hold onto. Standout song: Walk On. 01-09-2026 My puzzle nook, The Tree of Life 500pc
not exactly my type but vibey
I liked Vampire Blues. Not really my style
I used to really like him, his banjo and guitar are good, but boy his voice gets on my nerves
Not as good as the other album
Revolution Blues landed! The rest didn't...
This was just boring man, I mean the opener was pretty good but otherwise it kind of just faded into the background and didn't make much of an impression on me at all. Not gonna come back to this one even if it wasn't the worst
This album is easy listening except it’s not easy. No standouts, instrumentals are okay but his voice does not sound good.
Neil Young is at his best when he is angry and that angst comes through in the songs, and I didn't hear nearly enough of that on this record. Revolution Blues was an excellent track, but that was about it for me on this record. Many of the softer/slower songs just weren't that good. Part of it is that Young's voice is so unique, which can be a cool thing at times, but I found it just off putting on this record.
Not my kind of music. Nice voice though.
This would be such a great list if you enjoyed Neil Young. Its just too much Neil Young for me.
I'm informed that this "is a folk rock album exploring themes of anger, alienation, nihilism and cautious optimism." Oh great, that with Neil Young's whiny voice. For some reason I find him less whiny and annoying here than usual. Still didn't like it though.
j'ai pas trop aimé
I can see why people like this, and I enjoyed a couple of the songs, but for the most part I found this pretty boring. On the Beach (the song) drags on forever. I have come to the conclusion that American folk music is unrelatable to me. Idk why exactly, but when folk music relies so much on relatibility, that makes most of the genre a pretty tough listen. I like other forms of folk music, there's some great Aussie folk music out there, and Irish folk music, but US folk sucks. I think it might be because a lot of US folk music has this self importance to it that makes me just wanna throw up.
I’m not crazy about Neil Young… and this did very little to move the needle for me. That said, I recognize Neil’s contributions and importance. It’s just not for me. Southern man didn’t need him ‘round anyhow.
Just not interesting to me at all. Not bad sounding by any means though.
Please stop with this man. We’ve got 1001 albums to listen to and he deserves TWO?!
Neil’s voice is grating at times
149 Stop trying to make Neil Young happen.
Sooooooo boring
Neil Young.... It got a 2 star because it was somehow better than expected... But barely.
Ovanligt albumval ur Young-katalogen.
Kind of meh. Niel Young was better when he was with CSNY
It was fine … Neil Young may be a great songwriter, but he is not a great singer.
Some of it's pretty good. Some of it is even more whiney than regular Neil Young.
Köyhän miehen Bob Dylan! No ei kai, ihan menevää folk country mitälie samanlaista
1. uualk - 1 2. zky -1.5 3. bluez -1.5 4. turn - 1.5 5. vampire - 1 6. beach - 1.5 7. motion -1.5 8. ambulance - 1.5
2 out of 5 Pretty slow.
Bit too soft and slow
How much more Neil Young will I be forced to endure?
Songs to fall asleep on the beach too. Beware, Melatonin Blues was a working title!
Nothing standing out much tbh
I really don't know what to think about this album. I'm a Neil Young fan much like I'm a Bob Dylan fan. I think they are both musical geniuses, but I would not go to their concerts or listen to a whole album. I prefer the 5-6 iconic songs they each sing and the many other songs they wrote that other artists sing.
Eh
Not bad to have on in the background.
Clunky, uninspiring, and has done nothing to dispel my dislike of his rather feeble voice. There were one or two brighter moments but then I realised these were the adverts.
Some of this is quite funky (for dad music) and others of it is jingly jangly nasal ennui.
Another Neil Young album...meh. The final track is terrible and drones on for nearly 9 minutes. Thank goodness it's over
Ok
I didn’t like this at all. I actually dreaded it after about 3 mins in.
Alright. Not my thing
Hoo boy that was a slog. Just such. Slow. Music. And I guess I don't like his voice that much.
Cuppa, this is not.
This sounds like Neil Young. Albeit a bit more chipper, at least at the start. Having heard another of his (or is it two) from this list already, I do feel that if you've heard on, you've heard them all. Seventies rock. Not really my thing.
Neil Young has better albums than this. It was not that exciting.
Hate his voice.
one million dune buggies. The last song was good
Not that anyone reads these, but if they did, I would be chased outta town for saying this: Neil Young is the most overrated singer/songwriter/rocker in history. I do not, for the most part, enjoy his music, regardless of the iteration. This album is no different.
A couple of tracks on this are OK because he doesn't sing much.
Pretty good, but not quite there yet. It does have an intriguing cover though.
This album was almost interesting
I know the guy's a legend, but entire Neil Young albums all the way through kind of bore me. For this one, I feel like if you asked a reasonably robust AI to craft a Neil Young album circa 1973-1974 this is what it'd come up with.
Ugh. I know he is revered and all that but I just can’t past his whiney old man vocals. Do not like.
I gave it an extra star with the hopes that it is celebrating the last fucking Neil Young album I have to listen to. Used to go to the bridge school show's when they were a thing in the Bay Area. A great thing about Neil Young closing every show was that it was a great way to beat the traffic leaving the shoreline amphitheater.
Neil young is a silly liberal
Pretty mid but easy listening while I was working on a project 5/10
Good for background music; sad, a bit wistful music.
I still just don't particularly care for Neil Young. I wish I saw what so many others seem to. He just doesn't grab me and I guess I'm missing out.
you again? I thought I liked Neil. I don't know why but he's starting to annoy me.
Fun cover. Miserable album
Not sure how I feel this album, certain parts were good, others felt too repetitive and boring. It’s not album that I would replay or add into my playlist.
I have never really given Neil Young much time. This was enjoyable, but forgettable.
Ok
Meh
Is that his real voice?
More warbling from Neil Young. I really liked track 2, but what else will I remember from one casual cursory stroll on the beach? It’s monotonous after awhile.
Translation : I do hate all the work of Niel Young, but this is his most listenable album.
Why are there so many Neil Young albums on this list!!!! I just don’t get it
This has got to be the most boring music of all time.
Ikke min smak
Another Young album, and I still cannot fathom his voice. Additionally, this is way too much country folk for my taste.
Whining voice, hated it
3/10
Look, I'm just not a big Neil Young fan, okay? So maybe let's pump the brakes a little bit, just pick one or two of his albums, and be done with it. I actually liked a few of these songs more I than I thought I would. I attribute this to the stellar musicians around him, rather than Young himself.
Just like every Neil Young album. Drab and pretentious.
It kind of just came and went I was listening to it. I'm not that familiar with Neil Young's entire output but I don't think this particular album belongs on this list and the rating reflects that stance. It's not particularly bad sounding to me but it doesn't stand out.
This albums sounds was kinda all over the place. The second half was better than the first, surprisingly.
meh
Meh
