Unknown Pleasures
Joy DivisionGreat start I've listened to this album before. It's great!
Great start I've listened to this album before. It's great!
While not exactly something I would necessarily listen to on my own. Or would seek out to listen to again. I did enjoy the album. And can really see how it's incredibly influential.
This was a very interesting listen. Other than the hits Bohemian Rhapsody and You're my Best Friend I hadn't heard any of these songs. I quite liked it. You're my best friend did initially feel a little out of place compared to the previous tracks but then seaside rendezvous came on and that was really different and I actually loved it. I remember thinking the opening track death on two legs was pretty progressive and I really enjoyed that and then Sweet Lady hits and it's very prog rock and it's great. The prophets song was an incredible journey. Yeah this is a pretty good album. Not something I'd probably go back to though to be honest. 3 days into this journey and nothing but good to great albums. It'll be interesting when I actually come across something I don't like. But I can't wait to listen to something that I love so much I add it to my regular listening rotation.
Very nice. 4 days into this journey and this is the 2nd album I have heard before. Love this album. It's got a good variety of sounds.
Sigur Ros was a band I had heard of. Have heard some songs by them. Always meant to give them a proper listen to. So now that's happening. All that being said. I did enjoy the album and can recognize that it is really good. But I don't think I'd come back to it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this album. I had heard of the album and have heard the first three tracks before. But this is my first time listening to the album. Very solid album. And it does make me want to check out more U2 so 5 stars.
This was an incredible listen. As a Canadian I've always enjoyed Neil Young and respected him. But have never listened to an entire album. Other than the opening track I never heard any of this and it was great.
Wow this is easily the best album of the ones I haven't heard before yet. I've loved a lot of the people he's worked with. But never tried his solo stuff before. Easy 5 stars.
9 albums in and this is the 3rd album I had already listened to before. Love this album and Jane's Addiction has always been a band I've meant to check out more of. 5 stars.
I dig this! Had heard the title track before. But I never really knew what it was called or who it was by before. But yeah this was a great listen.
Damn this was really good. I was always interested in listening to more of Bjork. And this was a delightful surprise. I didn't even know she was in this band. Great listen to. Made me want to check out more for sure.
Very nice. I really liked this album. I wasn't so sure at the start of it. But by the end I was really enjoying it and it made me really want to check out more stuff from PJ Harvey.
Nice. I am definitely going to check out some more of this band. Really liked it.
Really good stuff here. Always been a casual fan. And while I was aware of this album I was a little surprised I didn't really recognize any of the actual songs. So it was a great first listen.
Yeah okay. I don't have too much of an opinion about this. It's just really not for me. I didn't hate it at all. It's just not really my tastes. It was pretty different than I thought it would be. And I only recognized the title track and the power of good bye so it was mostly all new to me. And like I said it did some things I wasn't expecting from a Madonna album. I can definitely see how others would like, again it's just not for me.
This was an incredible listen. I of course knew of the hit Lovefool. But every track on this album was a banger in my opinion. So much so that I spent the rest of the day listening to their whole discography! New fan for sure.
Hmm. Yeah I quite liked it. Didn't necessarily make me want to listen to it more though.
I really liked this album. But I don't feel the need to listen to more.
I absolutely loved listening to this. Such a fun time. You can really tell how influential it was too.
This is a really great album. Such incredible vocals.
While I can recognize that this is a good album. It just really isn't for me. I can't stand Kanye West. I usually have no problem separating the art from the artist. It's really hard to do with Kanye West because so much of his art is about him... So I can't really do that. And I do not care for him. And i know he's only gotten worse since this album came out. What with all the antisemitism.
I quite liked this. Was a nice relaxing easy listen.
This was an interesting listen. I enjoyed it. Not something I might necessarily go back to though.
Yes! Love Beastie Boys. Love this album. In fact of all the albums I've listened to prior to starting this. This is the album I've listened to most beforehand. So good.
This was really great. Loved listening to this.
Pretty interesting. I did quite like this.
Meh. Didn't really care for this. I didn't hate it by any means just didn't really care for it either.
Wow. This was incredible. Loved all of this. So fun and delightful.
Oh very nice. Really digged this. Super easy listen. I've always meant to check out more Franz Ferdinand. Definitely will be doing so after this.
I thought it was really good. Just not something I feel like I need to listen to again. Definitely interested in listening to some more Brian Eno solo stuff. I loved the other album I listened to
This was incredible. I don't know what I was expecting. I just didn't expect it to be as great as it was. The track We Will Fall did seem to drag on a bit too long for my liking though.
Wasn't sure how I felt about this at the start. Was mostly indifferent. However the instrumentation just kept me really intrigued. And I ended up really enjoying it. Not sure if I'll go back or check out any more of their stuff so in that case 4 stars.
Love this album. I've listened to it countless times. One of my favorite bands of all time.
Wasn't exactly my cup of tea. But I did enjoy it
This is very good. I liked it. I'll probably check out more of them. I've heard of them quite a bit lately. They seem to be going through a bit of a renaissance. 5 stars.
Pretty good stuff.
I guess this is probably good. I mean I didn't hate listening to it by any means. But it's just really not for me.
Yeah I'm not really a big Christmas music guy. I didn't hate it. I just didn't really like it. But I don't think it's bad so 3 stars.
Great stuff here.
I typically enjoy Prog rock. King Crimson. Early Genesis and such. But something about this just didn't really click with me for some reason. I didn't hate it by any means and can recognize the musical genius. I just don't think I was in the mood for it.
Wow I really dug this album. Definitely going to check out more from them.
This was a good listen.
This was absolutely incredible. One of the best I've listened to since starting this. I immediately relistened to this album and then moved on to listening to other albums she's done. Incredible stuff
I liked it. I'd heard most of the songs beforehand but not the full album. Good stuff.
Another album I had listened to before. Fairly big fan of Cat Stevens. Love this album especially.
I quite enjoyed this. Have always heard good things about them and this album. I'll definitely be checking out more from them.
So good. I've been meaning to listen to more Yes!
Very good stuff
Love the first four albums by Arcade Fire. Have listened to them each multiple times. In fact this is the first one I did listen to all the way through. Haven't listened to much of their stuff post Reflektor. And it's kind of hard to want to do that now with all that's come out about Win Butler. I mean I had heard that he was a real pretentious prick. But now it seems he's a pretentious prick who abuses his power to force women to do sexual things with him. I don't really have a problem separating the art from the artist. Especially since Win Butler is just one part of Arcade Fire it's just unfortunate that he's the front/main singer of the band.
I have loved Aimee Mann since watching Magnolia. This album being on here makes me wonder if there are others of here on here. Bachelor No. 2 is my favourite of hers. Here's hoping.
Roxy Music is another one of those bands that I've heard a lot of good things about and have been meaning to check out more from them. This did not disappoint.
Pretty good stuff here. I know it's a great album. But I just wasn't in the mood for it.
I didn't really care for this too much. I don't think it's bad. Just not for me.
Pretty good. Some of it holds up. Some of it not so much I don't think.
Really not a fan of country music. This is at least more bearable than modern pop country. Yeah not saying it's bad. But it's really not for me.
Damn. This was absolutely incredible. I've been meaning to check out more of Kate Busy for a long while now. She's collaborated with so many of my favourite artists. And this did not disappoint.
Oooff. I wasn't really feeling this. Didn't hate it but didn't really like it either.
Very good stuff here. Enjoyed this.
Love the beasties boys. However this does have a lot of stuff that didn't are that well. Still love it though
Didn't hate it. But didn't really care for it either. Really wasn't feeling it.
Excellent album.
Say what you will about Michael Jackson. And I will I think he was a predator. But you can't deny he made some fantastic music. He's an artist I can enjoy by separating the art from the artist.
One of the absolute best. Loved this album. I coincidentally just listened to this album last week. Hah it's in my rotation pretty heavily to begin with a long with all of Bowie's solo work.
This was a good listen. Have always wanted to check out some Sonic Youth. This didn't disappoint.
This was a pretty good listen.
Really great stuff. It was such a fun easy listen... And then I did a little reading. How can something so funky have such dark undertones. Loved it.
This was incredible. Loved listening to this album. They've always been another band that I've been meaning to check out more of. So glad this came up. Will definitely be checking out some more.
Hey, can you keep a beat on the drums? Yeah, well congratulations, you can play every single AC/DC song on the drums. Man I really don't like AC/DC. I didn't expect this to be my first rating lower than three stars. I did try to go in with an open mind. You can't deny the success they had. And sure there's some good/iconic guitar riffs and solos they came up with. But boy oh boy do I not care for it. The only reason I am not rating it 1 star is because I'll reserve that rating for albums I would actually hate and actively tell people not to listen to. 2 stars means I didn't like it. I thought maybe I would have been able to rate this 3 stars. But that is reserved for things that I don't have strong feelings for one way or the other. This is the first album I've come across that not only do I not like, I also don't think it's good. I do recognize that is my own opinion and based on their popularity I know I'm probably a minority here but I don't think they make good music.
Didn't feel too strongly about this one way or the other. I think it's good, definitely not bad by any means. Just not really for me. It definitely helped that it came in at a breezy 28 minutes.
This was a good album. I enjoyed it.
This was absolutely delightful. Will definitely be checking out more from them
Meh didn't care for this one too much. Didn't hate it though.
Absolutely incredible. Loved this. Always casually enjoyed Neil Young but damn this was great.
Did not care for this. Didn't hate it. But didn't really like it either.
I did enjoy this a lot.
I wasn't so sure of this at the start. Didn't care much for the opening track. However I ended up really enjoying this album.
Meh. Wasn't bad. But didn't care too much for it.
Pretty good stuff
It's not awful but I really didn't care for it. Kind of like bubblegum pop hard rock
Yeah it was fine. Just not exactly my cup of tea.
It was fine. Just not really to my taste.
Not bad. Just not really something I cared for too much.
I feel like perhaps I've been too generous in the past, especially with electronic music. I don't know why but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. This is the first 1 star review I'm giving out. I know I've been to generous in the past and if it wasn't something I liked I would just rate it 3 stars saying it wasn't for me. But this is a bridge too far. I really didn't like this. It wasn't for me. I don't know who this is for. It was boring and repetitive. It maybe even is a little better than some of the other electronic albums that I rated earlier because it does every so often do something a little bit different... But barely, and not good enough. So I guess I'm changing the way I rate things maybe.
This was absolutely delightful to listen to. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So... This was kind of I think exactly what I needed. I usually listen to albums periodically throughout the day. I tend to take breaks here and there. But the night before I was assigned to listen to this episode, my dad died. I was assigned this yesterday obviously. But I didn't get around to it until today. I listened to it while driving to my parents house to be with family. So it hit real hard. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved it. I think I will be coming back to this. It will hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for this.
Not really into country music. But this is better than modern pop country of course.
One of the absolute best albums by one of the absolute best bands of all time! This concept album is such a journey. One of the rare concepts albums where multiple tracks do work on their own though.
Great listen. Always been a casual fan of The Cure. And I was looking forward to listening to more of them so this was delightful.
Nope. Not for me. I did not care for this. I enjoy jazz music. But this was way too much. Just wall to wall noise. The only thing that's saving it from a 1 star is the sheer uniqueness of the album. I haven't heard anything like this... Not that that's necessarily a good thing.
This was such a great listen, especially since yesterday I had to listen to Spy vs. Spy. Now this is the kind of Jazz I can get behind and enjoy.
Didn't hate it by any means, and while I recognize Dylan's genius and influence, I don't particularly care for it. It's fine. Just don't feel strongly one way or the other.
Nope. Didn't like this. Just went on and on and on.
Pretty good. Technically proficient. Just nothing that really hooked me. But not bad at all.
This was a nice easy listen. Didn't really stand out though.
This is one of my all time favourite albums, by one of my all time favourite bands. Love it every time I listen to it. Which is fairly often to begin with.
This was an incredible listen. Really enjoyed this. This must have been pretty revolutionary.
This was a nice easy listen I enjoyed it. Bluesy jazzy. Daughter enjoyed it as well.
Yeah this was enjoyable.
Not the worst electronics album I've listened to since starting this. But yeah, I'm getting pretty tired of all of the electronica albums on this list. It is one genre that really hasn't aged well. I get that some people like it, love it even... But it's really not for me. I almost want to rate this 1 star just because how fed up I am with all the electronica, but again, this is far from the worst one on the list so far. It at least did some things different. But still not good in my opinion.
Oh yeah, I've been waiting for this day to come. In my opinion David Bowie is the greatest of all time. He's my all time favourite artist. No one else has maintained as much cultural relevancy while being as influential and successful, while continuing to experiment with their sound than he was. Great album. I know there's some more Bowie albums on here and I can't wait to have an excuse to relisten to those either. I almost always listen to at least one of his studio albums every single day. Or one of his live albums as of late. His output is legendary!
I didn't feel too strongly one way or the other with this one. Wasn't horrible, wasn't great either.
I really liked this. Been meaning to listen to some of their stuff.
I really like this. It's kind of funny the day before I listened to The Strokes' Is This It, and honestly this feels like it's of the same era. It holds up really well. I never would have guessed this was pre 80s music.
Wow can't deny the skill and energy here. Great album.
This was really good. Interesting blending of rockabilly and punk. Can really see how it would be super influential.
Damn. This was pretty entertaining. I liked it a lot.
This was pretty good.
This was quite interesting. Wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Lately I've been so scared of any assignment from the 90s thinking it'll be electronic music that I've grown tired of. So this was delightful. Some of it was nice and short and sweet. Some of it went on and on kind of repetitive. But some of it was genuinely really interesting to me. I liked it. A lot.
Wow. What can be said about this album, that hasn't been said. I'll just say it's incredible.
This was thoroughly enjoyable.
Love Tears for Fears. Love this album. Love The Hurting too, I wonder if it's in this list.
This was very nice and easy listening.
Pretty dang good
This album is so fascinating. I'm not into country music at all. But this album is entertaining as all hell. Some of the music gets a little repetitive. But the mood and atmosphere is incredible. Just so raw and authentic.
Always enjoy this type of jazz.
Meh didn't hate this by any stretch. But it didn't really hold my attention at all.
Very good album. I enjoyed it a lot. Love all the different styles.
What a treat of the album. Always been a casual fan of Neil Young but this is my third album of his from this list so far and I'm becoming a big fan of his.
Love this album.
Really nice and easy listening.
Very nice easy listening.
Pretty good stuff
Pretty good stuff
Meh. Didn't care for this really. Didn't hate it though either.
Oh wow. So good! I really enjoyed this one.
Meh
Quite good
I enjoyed this a good amount.
Pretty good stuff
Good stuff
Really good listen.
Very entertaining album.
I quite liked this one
What an amazing album.
This was a pleasantly delightful listen
Pretty solid stuff
Not bad at all. I rather enjoyed this
I really liked this!
Excellent album
Meh wasn't terrible. Just did not care for it.
Excellent, breakthrough album.
Excellent
Man this album is entertaining as all hell. Way better than it has any right to be.
Ugh. I did not care for this. And I'm very tired of the electronica albums on this list. How many more can their possibly be. When Blueski came on, I was relieved, I thought wow a break from the same stuff over and over again. But I was wrong. Blueski is just the same thing over and over again for 3 minutes. A welcome break from the rest of the album. But also repetitive on it's own. And then Stagger was also whatever.
This album was incredible. I loved the energy. The Talking Heads cover, yeah so much energy. Incredible album and musicianship all around.
So good.
Really good. I don't know how or why I haven't listened to this band before. Reminds me of early days Modest Mouse. I know they site Placement as an influence and yeah you can really hear it. I will try to make up for lost time and catch up.
One of my favourite albums by one of my absolute favourite bands. Talking Heads first 5 albums are so good. I love them all. In fact between their 3rd (this album) 4th and 5th album I have a hard time pinning down which one is my favourite. I was surprised to learn that their 5th album, Speaking in Tongues, isn't on this list. But yeah this album is so great.
This was pretty solid
Ugh. Definitely not the worst electronic album I've listened to on this list. I've even heard some of these tracks before in various media. But I'm just so over these electronic albums. I'll give it credit for being a cut above the rest.
This was a really fun album. I liked it.
A real classic here
Such a fun album. So entertaining. Really enjoyable.
While I recognize that this album would definitely be considered successful by most measures and can appreciate the fact that it did produce a lot of classic rock hits, and this album is full of them that's for sure, there was only a handful of tracks I had never heard before, I do think even the best of bubble gum stadium pop rock is still not something I really care for.
Good stuff. Just not really my thing.
This wasn't too bad. I quite liked it. I saw the reviews and braced myself for the something bad. But this was pleasantly surprising.
Meh not really for me. Not bad. But not my cup of tea.
Love this album.
Very solid soul album.
Wow. This is such a great album. Not exactly what I would choose to listen to, but I can't deny how great it is. So many hits. And the ones that weren't big hits are really solid. Great rock album.
Didn't feel too strongly one way or another about this one.
Pretty good stuff. Not as entertaining as Stankonia
Not bad. But not really for me either.
Always been meaning to check more of Portishead out. This did not disappoint really liked this one.
Whoa. This was good stuff
Wasn't too bad. Wasn't great either though.
Not bad by any means. Quite good bluesy hard classic rock. Just not really my taste.
Meh. Not bad. I recognize this is good 90s rock. But not really for me.
This is one hell of an album. So good. Very varied.
Very nice. Pleasantly relaxing.
Not bad at all. I quite liked it.
Pretty good stuff. Nice and relaxing easy listening.
Nope. Really not for me. The only thing that's stopping me from rating it 1 star is because I do recognize that Beyonce is at least a skillful singer. I don't really care for her personally. And I hate this forced global worship of her. But I can recognize that she is good at what she does. But this album, and her work in general just feels so by the numbers.
So good! Some of the feedback at the end of some of the tracks maybe dragged on a bit too long. But I didn't find it detracted from the overall album.
Bowie is my favourite musician/artist of all time. I personally believe he is the G.O.A.T. I've listened to his entire discography multiple times over. And pretty much constantly. It's pretty rare that a day goes by where I don't listen to at least one of his albums. So I was more than happy to re-listen to The Next Day. Although this album might not even crack the top 10 of my favourite Bowie albums, I'm such a fanboy and I absolutely love this album. Some seriously great songs on here. I mean Where Are We Now. What a beautiful song. The ending might just be one of his most romantic ever. I just love Bowie
Pretty fun and entertaining album.
Really good stuff
Pretty entertaining. Some of it doesn't really hold up I don't think. But I also kind of think that was the point.
Nope. I don't care for this. Might be one of the better electronica albums I've listened to so far. And that saves it from 1 star. But I still don't care for it.
Pretty fun album.
Meh. Didn't feel too strongly one way or the other about this. In fact my wife absolutely loathes "I Shot the Sheriff" and that honestly has rubbed off on me a bit. So I don't really care for that track.
Really enjoyable album. Lots of fun.
Great stuff.
Pretty interesting and entertaining album.
Meh. Not really for me.
Such a great jazz album.
This is not normally something I would listen to. But I really enjoyed this.
I really liked this.
Great album
Enjoyable
Meh. Not bad. Just not really my thing either.
Such a good album. I somehow forgot that I use to listen to it quite often. I thought that I was going to listen to this for the first time only recognizing some of the names of some of the tracks. But relistening to it now flooded all the memories of listening to it all the time back in high school. So thanks for that. Excellent album.
Meh. Honestly not bad at all. Just felt like it outstayed it's welcome.
Good stuff
Can't deny the absolute hits on this album. And the other non hits are good stuff too.
Not too bad. Just not really my thing 2ith335
A lot more overt religious and specifically Christian references than I prefer. But still a really fun and entertaining album. But yeah the almost constant references to Christianity knocks it down a peg.
This was a fun album for me.
Pretty good stuff. Some classics for sure.
Love it.
Solid stuff
Yeah this good classic stuff. I'm afraid to look it up. What is Chooglin?
This was a pretty fun listen
Good stuff
Pretty good stuff
Very good!
This was great
Good stuff
Not too bad.
Pop punk probably at it's absolute finest. Excellent concept album at that.
Very good stuff
I really like this album. Arcade Fire's first 3 albums were fantastic. I haven't really listened to anything they did after Reflektor though. I should give it a shot.
Okay. So I do not like country music. Like at all. That being said, I didn't mind this album so much, because there was some breaks from the repetitiveness. Although overall it was rather repetitive. I don't know country music just all sort of sounds the same to me. But like I said some of the songs on this album did stuff a little differently and that was a nice break. I also have enjoyed Dwight Yoakam in some of his acting roles that I've seen so that helped. I am also more inclined to appreciate this style of country music, when compared to modern country music. Because well, this is actual music. Whereas modern country music is nothing more than corporate, paint by numbers pandering. As Bo Burnham said, it's textbook pandering. And it's honestly insulting. So I appreciate the fact that there is actual musicianship here. But with all that being said, I still don't like country music... Like at all.
Great stuff
Pretty damn great
Meh. This is a weird album. Tonally all over the place. Honestly it's not bad. Just not really for me. I'm not much of a metal head. I can appreciate the musicianship though. Some of the most talented musicians are metal drummers. Absolute insanity.
Pretty good stuff. Can't deny the sheer amount of hits on it.
Pretty great
I actually really enjoyed this
Some good stuff. Can't deny the hits.
Very fun and entertaining album. Enjoyed it
Excellent album
Can't deny it's very good and influence
Meh. May be one of the better electronic albums. But still not my thing.
Quite enjoyable
Not too bad. Pretty good. The religious references really bring it down. For me anyway.
Very interesting album.
Excellent album.
Bowie IS the greatest artist of all time. He's certainly my favorite. And this album in my opinion is the quintessential Bowie album. A lot of people will say that's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. And while I also love that album, I honestly believe this album fits the bill better. While The Ziggy album is quite firmly commented in his glam era, Hunky Dory captures more of his overall sounds. There's some stuff that sounds like his earlier folksy-er outings. There's his poppy stuff from the time, and there's hints towards his glam rock outings to come. There's even some really experimental sounds here as well that he would continue to do for the rest of his career. Love Bowie and I love this album.
Very enjoyable album.
Great stuff
Great album
Classic
Pretty good.
This album was incredible. Despite it being clearly folksy in nature, there's something about this album, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but it sounds really ahead of its time and quite modern. Really dig this one.
Super funky. Super fun. Super enjoyable
Pretty good
Meh. I respect Willie Nelson as a person, and this type of country music as opposed to today's modern country pop garbage, but I still don't care for it
Really great stuff. Didn't know what to expect going into this one. Was delightfully surprised.
Such a great album. By one of my absolute favourite band. I love all of their albums. But their first 5 especially are incredible.
Thoroughly enjoyable.
This was super nice and chill and I really liked it.
Pretty great
Meh. Not really my thing.
Excellent stuff
Meh. Not bad. Just not really my thing.
Absolutely incredible.
Really fun stuff.
Very good.
Meh. Not bad at all. Just not really my thing.
Very fun album
Great album. Easily the best pop punk stuff.
Good stuff
This was great.
This was delightful. Would like to check out more from them.
Pretty good
Meh not bad. But not really my thing
Not bad. Just not really my favourite thing.
Good stuff.
Man, I had always heard good things about Kendrick Lamar. And I was interested in hearing this. But honestly I didn't care for it too much. Don't care for his voice. Lots of repetitiveness. Long drawn out.
Great stuff!
Holy generic rock and roll Batman. Listen I won't deny the musicianship. They seem really good at what they do. It's just what they do does not interest me in the slightest. Much of this just sounds like royalty free rock music.
Incredible stuff. I never really listened to Johnny Cash. Never really thought I'd like it to be honest because I hate country music. But this is a cut above the rest for sure. This almost feels like something else. Anyway this is the second Cash album I'm listening to from this list. And it is also getting 5 stars. Just incredible stuff.
Nope. Not a fan of this pop by the numbers corporate stuff.
Meh. There was some good stuff in here. But mostly it was long and dragged out blah for me.
Phenomenal stuff here!
Great stuff
So good!
Ended up really liking this one.
Pretty good stuff
Excellent album.
This was quite interesting.
Very good
This list has made me a fan of Neil Young. Didn't have too strong of an opinion beforehand. But now I really like him.
Good stuff
Very enjoyable
I love Bowie and I love this album. I've said a lot about Bowie so far in my reviews for the other albums that have come up so far for me on the list. But this album means so much to me. To all of us Bowie fans. It was his final gift to us. To the world. And I love him all the more for it.
Great album
Meh.
Pretty good stuff
Not bad.
This was an incredible listen. I ended up really enjoying this.
Not too bad.
Great stuff.
Very chill and easy to listen to. I really liked it.
Meh.
Pretty enjoyable
I don't like this. I understand they are popular. But I don't like them.
This was fantastic!
Pretty good stuff.
I absolutely love Bowie. See my other reviews to see my thoughts on him as an artist. He's my all time favourite. I love this album. However I will say it took a few times, like all of the albums from his Berlin trilogy to get the hang of. I remember going into this album pretty casually thinking the title track would be the indication of how the whole album would sound. And it's not quite like that. It did take a few listens to really sink in for me. And it might actually be my least favourite of the Berlin trilogy. Low being one of his absolute best albums. And Lodger being just more interesting in my opinion than Heroes. But again, I love this album and I love Bowie!
Pretty good. I remember when their first album came out, listening to it and meaning to keep up with them. I didn't so this was an interesting listen.
This list has made me a fan of Johnny Cash. I didn't feel too strongly about him one way or another beforehand. I like how I did get his first live prison album first and then his second one in order. But man these two albums are just so entertaining. Really enjoyed this. And again, I am not a fan of country music whatsoever. But this is just good stuff.
Very good.
Great stuff.
Man. The first few Coldplay albums were great. Love this album. It has my personal favourite Coldplay track: The Scientist. I feel like after X&Y they got a little too poppy for my tastes.
Incredible stuff. A bit on the long side. But I loved it.
