Popular Reviews

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service

I will never understand why this album gets so much hate. I LOVE IT from the first to the last second. It might be on the more accessible part of the psych rock spectrum, but in no way is it underwhelming or boring IMHO.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone

What I liked about this album : Organ, vocoder, powerful vocals, AMAZING GUITAR and harmonica, Gospel, strong racial affirmation, percussions, hands clapping, diversity, brass section, harmonies, great simplicity-complexity balance, BASS. What I didn't like about this album : It lasts less than an hour, I can never listen to it for the first time again, I will never get to experience it live at Woodstock '69.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band

This list is clearly a joke to the person who added this album.

Superunknown by Soundgarden

Not really my type. For some reason, I have never enjoyed Chris Cornell's voice, even though I reckon he has an amazing range and control. I did not like nor dislike this album, I just probabl won't listen to it.

Is This It by The Strokes
Sep 19 2023

Not a bad album, I just don't get the hype as I feel it is pretty weak compared to some of the band's other albums. Even for a debut album, I must admit I was never really impressed by Is This It. It might have something to do with the fact that I have always been a great fan of The Killers' Hot Fuzz, ITI's direct rival, which is, IMHO, far superior on every aspect. Still, ITI is a good listen.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Sep 20 2023

Fun fact : before my daughter was born, before we even knew she would be assigned female at birth, my significant other and I used to call her "Stevie". That's how much I love the man.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Sep 21 2023

I didn't really get Johnny Cash before listening to this album. I must admit that in general, I tend to focus more on the music than on the lyrics. Cash's melodies are quite simple in most songs, which prevented me from really listening to anything he ever did. I tried to focus more on the lyrics for this listen and I have to admit, I was shaken. I can see why people tended to recognize themselves in these songs. It's also probably the best live album by a country artist, ever.

Debut by Björk
Sep 22 2023

Damn is Björk weird. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it though. I remember I once bought a used iPod with lots of music on it and I listened to the music on Shuffle. The very first song of hers I heard is It's oh so quiet and I just thought WTF is this, I need to find more. I have to admit I prefer her punk years with Tappi Tikarrass though.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Sep 27 2023

I decided to be brutally honest on this one. I totally hated it. I get why some people might enjoy it but I just can't. I found almost everything either boring or annoying.

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Sep 28 2023

I had such a great time listening to this album! The production is soooo clean and powerful

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sep 29 2023

Not my first listen. Such a good album, makes me really nostalgic. Not tgeir absolute best IMHO though.

Oct 01 2023

I've always really enjoyed this album. However, being a big Pink Floyd fan, I don't think this is their best works. Best production, maybe, but not the best songs. Still an amazing listen everytime! 4.5/5

Jimi Hendrix probably is the artist who played the biggest part of my musical awakening. I bought this album on discount when I was young and it absolutely changed the way I listen to music. For me, this is easily one of the best experiences.

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Mar 05 2025

This album sounds precisely like I thought it would by looking at the cover. Not my go to, but still enjoyed it a lot!

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
Mar 07 2025

Listened to it while walking in the snow and it kinda made me wanna dance, but I didn't. It was good, but not good enough for me to dance in the snow. Might listen to again in the summer!

Blur by Blur
Mar 18 2025

I've always hated Song 2 and the vibe it gave off. When I started listening to the album, I thought "well this might be better than I thought it would be". I was kinda wrong, but also kinda right. Song 2 is the worst song on this IMHO, but some of the songs were really enjoyable. It's just not really my genre overall, but I won't have nightmares (or sweet dreams) about Blur.

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Mar 24 2025

I'm not gonna say I disliked this album, because it would be a lie. I juste didn't think it was nearly as good as many other albums on here. I don't think it is one of the best soundtracks ever, which to me makes its position in the list really questionnable. Still, it was an easy listen, just not a fantastic one.

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Mar 26 2025

Wow, that was so much better than I expected! I could never have guessed this album came out in 1979. Loved it from beginning to end, really!

When I was 13, I used to babysit 4 shitty kids with even shittier parents. The mother was my sister's old friend so I couldn't really say no, even though I knew it meant I would probably not get paid, would have yo stay overnight even though they needed me for "2-3 hours, top" and would probably wake up to a 5 year old boy making me smell his fingers fresh out his ass. The last time I went there, I saw this album on top of a pile and stole it just to fuck with them a bit. I still have it and it is an all time favorite of mine. It's probably the only good thing I got from babysitting there.

Just saw someone who commented saying they would punch anyone who said this was their favorite Dylan album in the dick... Well guess I'll never tell anyone then, just to be safe

Jun 03 2025

This album is a solid 5, even though it's not OutKast's best album. These guys are geniuses.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 10 2025

That was so much better than I thought it would be tbh

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025

Jun 20 2025

That sounded like Kirsten Stewart's face expressions in Twilight, only worse. The music isn't that bad, but the singing really is. They would have gotten one more star if it had been instrumental, but there really isn't much I enjoyed in that album.

Jul 02 2025

I looked at the comments before listening to the album and kinda fove in backwards since many people seemed to absolutely hate it. This was so much better than I expected, such a great blend of genres and influences! I heard some Bowie, R.E.M., Talking Heads, and more in there. I wouldn't say it is perfect, but I will recommend this album to the appropriate people and will surely listen to it again. 4,5/5

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Jul 03 2025

One of the best albums ever recorded, period. Cedric Bixler-Zavala has, in mu humble opinion, the greatest and most polyvalent voice of prog rock.
