This was ok. Some of it is better than others. Works best as background music. When I was actively listening I couldn’t stand it but when it was just on i I was ok with it.

This one is a bit better than some of the other Kraftwerk albums I’ve heard, it’s a bit too repetitive on the beats for me tho. Mot much going on for my taste, one star. Actually found myself skipping at the end

Didn't like

This was an album where I had to be conscious of the release year, because otherwise I wouldn't get it at all. I'm sure this sounded amazing (or at least very distinctive) in 1977, but to me, it sounds remedial. Or maybe I just don't get minimalism. Kraftwerk formed the basis for a lot of music that I like, but it's antecedents have make the music on this particular album sound like a historical artifact. And we're talking 1977, not 1927. I wasn't expecting to give this my second 1-star rating out of this exercise, but that's where I'm at after listening to it. It's not painful, but it doesn't spark any emotion whatsoever for me.

Are these lovely compositions? Yes. Do I want to listen to this again? No, NEVER. Tedious, overly long, boring ass songs about trains. I will say they seque into songs quite well, which is admirable, especially in that style of music. But I HATED this & couldn't wait for it to be over. I did like the Schubert song & Metal on Metal. No soul

I've never heard Kraftwerk before. While I recognize how influential this and Kraftwerk must have been in 1977 I really hated this album. If I have to hear "Trans. Europe. Express." one more time I might lose it. I found the whole thing so obnoxiously repetitive. If it weren't so repetitive, I think I might actually like it. I respect them as pioneers but I'll stick to more modern electronic music where it's enjoyable even when highly repetitive.

Trans Europe Express is the only track considerable as a “song”. The rest is keyboard demo material.

Very insightful album!! Learned a lot!! I learned that Europe is endless. Also, life is timeless. Also, there’s a thing called the Trans Europe Express, that potentially may be endless!! (I will not be listening to this again).

I think if aliens invaded us, this album would be their debut into humanity. On the other hand, I felt like I was being dragged in a cult onto the Trans Euro Express and soon enough I'd have to follow orders on who to assasinate

I had dreams of this being a beautiful album, but upon an unfortunate series of events saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky. that I wished on over and over again- sparkling and broken. But I really didn’t mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it to know what true freedom is. When the people I used to know found out what I had been doing, how I had been living- they asked me why. But there’s no use in talking to people who have a home, they have no idea what its like to seek safety in other people, for home to be wherever you lied you head. I was always an unusual girl, my mother told me that I had a chameleon soul. No moral compass pointing me due north, no fixed personality. Just an inner indecisiviness that was as wide as wavering as the ocean. And if I said that I didn’t plan for it to turn out this way I’d be lying- because I was born to be the other woman. I belonged to no one- who belonged to everyone, who had nothing- who wanted everything with a fire for every experience and an obssesion for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about- and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me. Every night I used to pray that I’d find my people- and finally I did- on the open road. We have nothing to lose, nothing to gain, nothing we desired anymore- except to make our lives into a work of art. LIVE FAST. DIE YOUNG. BE WILD. AND HAVE FUN. I believe in the country America used to be. I belive in the person I want to become, I believe in the freedom of the open road. And my motto is the same as ever- “I believe in the kindness of strangers. And when I’m at war with myself- I Ride. I Just Ride.” Who are you? Are you in touch with all your darkest fantasies? Have you created a life for yourself where you’re free to experience them? I Have. I Am Fucking Crazy. But I Am Free.

Too weird for my taste. A genre that gets annoying for me.

Two days in a row with trans in the title?? It truly is pride month. Hell yeah. On a down note, I believe this is going to be extended techno for like an hour and NOT a train themed romp through the triumph and tragedy that was the 2019 Kraft Dinner Twerkathon in Waterloo. Loonies were spilled, backs were thrown out, and the cheese dust is still being vacuumed out of that church basement to this day. Instead it’s probably just German electro music. Oh well. Surprise me. Please. Europe Endless - The first song is just shy of ten minutes. Oh joy, oh bliss. I don’t know what to tell you here. This is a monotonous video game soundtrack from 1980. Three years ahead of your time. Congrats. Don’t forget! There’s also a guy saying “Europe Endless” over the top of it. That’s good. Pause. Settings. Audio. Soundtrack volume. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 OFF. Ahhhh that’s better. Now I can enjoy this space motorcycle racing game from 1983. The Hall of Mirrors - Oh my god I forgot I was listening to this. Uhhh. This is actually way cooler. Dark, weird, and all around more intriguing. Verrrry German. Of course the one two minute idea is stretched over 8 (Europe) endless minutes, but that feels like par for the course here. Showroom Dummies - Uh yeah I’m in the market for an upsetting puppet? Something I can easily conceal at the border, but with a face that says “I will kill you if you don’t eat vegetables.” I have a school tour starting tomorrow. Oh my word this song is terrible. The repetition is nauseating. Trans-Europe Express - Whoa some French. This really is about going across Europe. I doubt we’re going to get Latvian in here, but this was during the Cold War. Did the sides even acknowledge eachother? I don’t care. This is another bad song repeated ad nauseum. Or “ad museum” as my lovely autocorrect believes I meant to write. Metal on Metal - Yeah this is what I would want from an album like this. Literally as industrial as it gets. Deep, ominous, and thankfully just over two minutes. Abzug - We are so back. Back where this musical voyage so often leaves me, in the doldrums of misery. Why is this the same song again. We loved Trans-Europe Express that much? Apparently this translates to “Deduction” in English. I will make a deduction right now. This music is overrated. Franz Schubert - I am so happy to be out of that loop that this is the greatest song I’ve ever heard. 10 stars. No, of course this also one 10 note lick played on repeat. It’s actually more than likely looped. Played once and then repeated. Endless Endless - You’re telling me! Yeah the transition was kind of cool, but this again the same bad “riff” from the last song with some vocals. Well it wasn’t as long as Daft Punk but my god I feel irritated. Strangely itchy. I’m sorry, but this is worthless. I’m sure at the time, if you were a North American kid used to warm radio rock, this would’ve hit like an arctic blast from the eastern bloc, but come on. This isn’t worth sitting and listening to. This isn’t for dancing, this isn’t for listening intently. Is it supposed to induce a trance? No it’s too annoying for that. I am baffled. If you’re a fan of this, I’m sure you’ll say it’s “beyond me” but I beg you to reconsider that take. If this provided some variety, it would probably be a really nice piece of art, but as it stands, Trans Europe Express is about 7 minutes of chilly, post Industrial Revolution, pre Industrial (music) Revolution stretched out interminably. For future reference, avoid the Guantanamo cut. 0.5 HIGHLIGHTS - Metal on Metal

Didn’t listen through - didn’t line

Austere, boring as shit, thin sounding German techno. Music for AIs to relax to after they’re done harvesting all the world’s data. From both musical and cultural perspective, I couldn’t hate it more than I do.

I tried to find something positive about this album. Honest I did. But the repetitive vocals drove me so insane I don’t remember anything else about this music except how much I now hate looking glasses.

really boring, kinda depressing to be honest

I started off not thrilled at the idea of listening to Kraftwerk because I don’t generally like electronica. I was pleasantly surprised by the first track, Europe Endless. It was highly listenable and really raised my hopes. Then the next two songs ripped that away with boring nonsense

This is the album equivalent of DNF on my Goodreads book list. I got through the first two tracks and then skimmed the rest trying to find something interesting. Its OK... just so repetitive and dull. I don't understand how this is different than AI generated electronic audio, except that it is actually far worse. It is fair to say I just don't \"get\" Kraftwerk and maybe that's on me. So be it.

No melodies, the most robotic and repetitive rhythms with no feel or emotion whatsoever. Seems like something a robot civilisation would play as they invade Earth.

It's creative and unique but it's repetitive and not enjoyable. At one point three songs had gone by and I thought I had been on the same song the whole time because he was still just chanting "Trans-Europe Express". The title of the final track is apt because that's what this album felt like. I understand this was influential on stuff like Depeche Mode and Daft Punk, but those bands are actually fun to listen to.

I think i'm starting to hate electronica soo much. I mean, this album is supposed to be iconic because is maybe one of the first albums that was release of the genre but this honestly sounds like an arcade game music, every single song is needlessly long, cause is the same thing over and over for 6 to 9 minutes each song, like GOD PLEASE STOP, i understood the idea the first 3 minutes of your song.

If you like slow electronic music with one repeated line of spoken work, this is the album for you!

Not sure if they were trying to invent EDM, or create a new soundtrack for Centipede, but Daft Punk probably loved these guys. Me however, not my kind of electronic sound.

WHAT A BORING ALBUM

Not conjecture, this might be the most boring album I've ever sat through. So repetitive and unexciting it gave me anxiety sitting here and hearing the same beep boop Trans Europe Express robot dick slaps over and over for 8 minutes at a time. I kno this album is considered one of the top influential albums of all time and yada yada, but this was miserable

This is pretty much how I feel about that awful Public Image Ltd. on here, (to a lesser extent) -- While I appreciate the pioneers of genres and how influential Kraftwerk was, it's another example of how just because you're early at something new doesn't automatically mean it's a good listen. Despite the groundbreaking stuff they did, I found this to be just so repetitive and dull.

The electronic music on this album is an obvious precursor to the synth pop of the 1980s; however, I’m a much bigger fan of the latter. The first few tracks weren’t bad, but starting with “Trans-Europe Express,” the tracks became a bit relentless - like an annoying buzzing in my ear with a driving beat and unpleasant chords. Overall I didn’t find this album particularly pleasant to listen to.

Not my style at all

I feel like I’m listening to the iPhone alarm and ringtone greatest hits. Even the people who were inspired by this must have realized this shit sucks but concluded they could make music with these sounds. No amount of Molly could make me enjoy this early-EDM robot sound orgy.

ANOTHER ONE!!?!?! I don't think this was necessarily better or worse than the last one, which I gave a two. But this deserves a one. Hopefully they'll look at the low scores and put no kraftwerk on "1001 more albums..."

Pretty dull honestly. Nothing exciting at all. If you want extremely mellow techno beats with little to no variation, this is for you. Otherwise, pass.

This was god awful. Beyond awful. Beep boop and repeat the same line over and over for 6-8 minutes. So happy when it was over.

Not gonna lie - a lot of this music sounds like the old light parade music at Disney World. There is nothing egregiously bad here. It's just not my cup of tea. I found myself really hoping the album would be done.

My God that was boring!

Why, dear God, WHY are there SO MANY KRAFTWERK ALBUMS on this list?! "Trans Europe Express" is easily one of the most repetitive and boring albums I've ever had the displeasure of listening to. The whole album is an endless loop of arpeggiated synths over boring beats periodically broken up by repetitive vocals. The title track is essentially 6 and a half minutes of phase-filtered synthetic drums, people chanting "Trans-Europe Express" and an out-of-context mention of David Bowie. It's mind-boggling to me that this is considered by anyone to be worthy of inclusion on the list. The listening experience was utterly angering.

Endless Endless is accurate

2nd time I've tried them. Recognize some samples but overall repetitive and depressing and almost lampoonish.

Very disappointing, everything on it is slow and simplistic, homogenous, boring record. Almost gave it two stars because I started liking a song toward the end of the record and then it just ended. Lame.
