An incredible piece of work
Has aged well. Sounds better than it did over two decades ago.
Radiohead is on the list of bands that every time I hear their work, my listening ears are intensely interested, yet somehow I don't pursue their music. However, as with other bands on that list (like Muse), I had a strong feeling they'd grow on me, and this album seems to building a case for that theory. Radiohead calls to mind for me bands like Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, and Muse, not so much in the content of their compositions and performances but in their ever-evolving approach to music. Like those other bands I love, they seem to work hard not to repeat themselves, and I admire that. To me, it's one of the most difficult places to reach in one's art: finding new ways to express oneself without simply experimenting for experimentation's sake. I don't claim any clairvoyance and I am as easily fooled as anyone, I suppose. I can only share my own personal subjective experience with the art as I encounter it. I'll definitely come back to this album and I'm motivated more now to explore their catalog.
I must admit I always looked down on Kid A’s less popular brother, it had come out too quickly after the world was blown away that it kind of felt like a cash out. And besides Radiohead at the time were harping about both albums being written at the same time meaning it felt like a b-side album. But now, after all these years with fresh ears - it’s a good one - probably one of the more underestimate neo-Radiohead records, albeit a bit on the darker side, it’s still a gripping listen.
Not the most consistent Radiohead record as the second half tails off slightly (until the incredible Life in a Glasshouse) but the first half is incredibly strong and contains some of their most fragile and beautiful songs
I always fall asleep when listening to Radiohead, so I think it was good but missed the last few tracks. It’s their typical “music from an advanced form of intelligence” format. Lost of odd sounds, instrumentation and lyrics that are passive aggressive. 4/5
Loved it. One of those albums you listen to alone at 3am just taking in the atmosphere.
I'm gonna blow up the curve here slightly. Genuinely expected to be cool on this one after not listening to it for a number of years, but I enjoyed almost all of it. In fact, I really quite like the back half of it from "I Might Be Wrong" onward through to the end. It's moody and explores a bit without ever feeling too tedious or dull to me. And then the whole thing culminates with a jazzy sad ditty. What can I say? It works for me.
Not bad, Thom, not bad. Radiohead: the band I’ve tried and tried and tried again to get into, but I just didn’t get it. However! I enjoyed Amnesiac. It had all that experimental Radiohead stuff, but some cohesiveness, too. There were elements of jazz, electronic and rock music with Thom Yorke’s haunting voice. Enjoyable. Best tracks: Pyramid Song, Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors and I Might Be Wrong. This album makes me a bit more excited for several upcoming Radiohead albums in the future.
3.5/5
it’s mostly whiny tom yorke that lets the air out of this band
4* as I’m Radiohead Neek BUT it ain’t Kid A
4.25
I like the vibe
The first three tracks are Radiohead leaning way too hard into what made OK Computer unique--musically, that's not an interesting way to start an album. But then the rest of the tracks are leaning into what made OK Computer good, which is the music ultimately. Still a really good album, but this is a pretty massive step back from OK Computer. Favorite track: Knives Out
I forgot how good Hunting Bears is. This album in general is better than I recall but that song in particular is great. I’m not sure Radiohead has a bad album. This is a 4 star
Solid album, very smooth to listen to
слишком много эхо бля
When I was younger I really didn't like this album, but there's at least eight good songs on this album. Many are much better live.
Radiohead at its finest. Weird, enigmatic and very memorable.
Despite this feeling like a reminder of a musical phase I'm no longer a part of (I loved many of the Radiohead records when I was younger but never really spent time with Amnesiac) the electronic textures, melodies, and endless eerie/melancholy moods still hit me in a special way. When this music matches your mood, it's sublime. One star deducted for the fact that there aren't many tracks that jump out as individually memorable with the possible exception of Pyramid Song because of all the hooplah surrounding its time signature.

Rating: 8/10 Best songs: Pyramid song, You and whose army, Knives out, Morning bell/Amnesiac
A real good album. Radioheads second worst album 4
i’ve already heard this 😭
4.5
I've never listened to this as an album before (as opposed to individual songs off it). It's great! Still only 4* - more an 8/10 than a 9/10.
Love this album.
Like this album, but it's not my favorite of theirs. Really like Morning Bell / Amnesiac
Moody broody. Good to listen to on the bus. Not my fave Radiohead album.
Love Radiohead, love some tracks on here. But it's possibly their weakest album.
So hypnotic and on another wavelength that it started over and I didn’t realize it looped until Pyramid Song started again.
Another Radiohead album on the 1001 list. Like my previous reviews I really like Radiohead but I think one would be enough. Amnesiac is more experimental than Kid A but still very accessible. It's not my favorite album from their discography of even in the top 3. I would recommend listening to Kid A or OK computer instead. Even though it's good it doesn't fit the list of must listen albums before you die.
There is a very fine line for me between Radiohead being good/enjoyable/unique and Radiohead being so far up their own ass that they cannot see the sunshine. This album jussssstt squeaks into the first category for me. I loved it! More this and less OK Computer please
Like it's predecessor, Kid A, an interesting album that has its ups and downs. On this one, I definitely enjoyed the tracks that followed a bit more traditional rock structures more than the more experimentally electronic ones. I can imagine that this one might grow on me and get 5 stars on a subsequent listen. But after a first spin it's a 4 for me. Highlight: Life In A Glasshouse
Was tempted to give this album a 5/5 just because it's Radiohead, but honestly, it's always been one of their weaker albums in my mind. It's still very good, and it's kind of astonishing that (I think) it's mostly just B-sides from the absolute wellspring that was the Kid A sessions, but I don't really revisit it too often, and there's probably a reason for that. Standouts: Packt Like Sardines In a Crushd Tin Box, Pyramid Song, You And Whose Army? I Might Be Wrong
Simply fantastic. Not my favourite Radiohead album but nevertheless it is great.
Overall, this was amazing! The first 5 songs were the best in the album and the last 6 is where the album started to get boring for me. But nevertheless I enjoyed it very much!
I love Radiohead but this is probably my least favourite album after their debut. I think a lot of the songs are really abrasive, but Radiohead are still great and “pyramid song” and “I might be wrong” are two of their best songs. So there are some good songs here but I’m not sure both this and Kid A needed to be included.
Ya gotta love some Radiohead! First listen through of this album tho! Very good coming right after Kid A I still think this album holds up next to it! Really nice music for this whole album! Did not disappoint!
Pretty solid album with three or so weak tracks. I like the incorporation of various music genres, such as electronica and jazz. The songs fit together and have the ability to transform your brain into another world. Favorite Songs: Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army, and I Might Be Wrong.
Great
Great album! It was cinematic without being over the top theatrical. I enjoyed all of the strings and horns.
Great album. Good vibe.
This one took a few listens to grow on me. Overall, the instrumentation is very atmospheric, the vocals go from soothing to grating. I enjoyed the opening track, nice and laid back. Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors was haunting, robotic and strange, yet oddly enough may have been my favorite song on the album. I Might Be Wrong was the most cohesive song on the album.
Great album, great band
Really good album. I feel like I missed the boat on this era of Radiohead. Great songs mixed with a few fun experimental ones.
I think Radiohead are at their best when experimenting, and this is an incredibly experimental album at times even by their standards! Took me a while to get on bored, but I think this is a grower. Im a bit of a Radiohead fan, but I’d actually never heard of this one before. Turns out it was originally going to be a double album with Kid A but they decided it would’ve been too dense. Good call. The more this went on; the more I liked it. Not sure I agree with all of the plaudits just yet - it certainly isn’t as good as In Rainbows / OK Computer / Kid A / Hail to the Thief (imo), BUT I think given a few more listens I might redact that statement. The more it goes on the better it sounds. In Rainbows is pinnacle Radiohead for me, and when this started I wasnt sure it was on the same path, but by the end I was sold.
Even as a follow-up to “OK Computer,” “Kid A” and “Amnesiac” were bold moves by Radiohead. The music is sweeping, challenging, orchestral, haunting, electronic, discordant, pulling the listener into an aural storm. “Kid A” remains on the 1001, while “Amnesiac” has been removed in later editions. I think this is the right call, although I love parts of both albums. But “Kid A” had the biggest impact, as the direct extension of the “OK Computer” evolution. Both albums came out of the same recording sessions, so it's fitting to choose just one as essential Or maybe replace them both with the 2021 double album reissue? Whether you love it or hate it, I think this absolutely fits the bill as music that you’ve gotta listen to at least once in your lifetime.
Three songs in, this album is WAY ahead of its time. Love the use of electronic elements. So far I can't predict anything. Notable tracks - I Might Be Wrong Knives Out Overall pretty solid and unpredictable. Seems like a good jumping off point for more Radiohead for me... 8/10
Awesome album. Not the best of Radiohead, but certainly up there with the classics.
Classic
It stuffers from having followed a masterpiece and therefore is always compared to it, which led to this being referred to as "Kid B" in some corners. In truth, it's something of a letdown coming after both OK Computer and Kid A. Christ, it sounds like I'm underselling this album. It's still great. Being the 3rd best Radiohead album isn't anything to be ashamed of.
Sperriges Werk, aber zu recht in dieser Liste.
Kid A’s twin brother that languished outside the spotlight, but that’s almost fitting given how introspective and isolated this album feels. Yorke and company turn the slightly-off synths and excellent guitar work inward for a darker mirror image of the already heavy Kid A, and the end result is a tight, claustrophobic LP that suggests something dark and formless just beneath the surface. Excellent instrumental work (especially guitar) on this one, creative songwriting in spades, and just some overall great tracks (even if I can’t listen to them when I’m depressed). One wonders if this album was meant to live in the A shadows, as that’s where it finds the most gripping examination of loss and isolation put to wax.
We Kid A was intended as a double album. This is effectively Kid B. It is often seen as the runt Dublin but I think it is as good. Some electronic noodling and I know Thoms voice turns some people off. Essential 21st century music.
A dreamy, spacey, and unique iteration on the Radiohead sound; I really appreciated the jazz/brass elements they incorporated into their sound. "You and Whose Army?" and "Morning Bell / Amnesiac" were so good!!
PREFS : Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box, Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army?, I Might Be Wrong, Knives Out, Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Dollars and Cents, Life in a Glasshouse MOINS PREF : Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Amnesiac >>>>>> OK Computer
I hate calling things hAunTiNgLY bEauTiFul but that’s it, that’s what it is. Very nice gloomy afternoon walk album
This album really hooked its teeth into midway through. I’ve always liked Radiohead, but somehow missed this album. 4/5
🩻
I tried unsuccessfully with this album when it was released twenty years ago. To me, it was something like an incoherent sequence of beeps and “ahhs” wrapped in an snobby marketing package. However, when I listened to it last night, I got it. It took me two decades to understand it, but finally I got it. Guess that good music is untimely and wait for us to be mature enough to appreciate it. Only when the time is right.
A pleasantly different listening experience...
more quality whining.
Refreshing. Very interesting, cohesive, artistic and weird album. Def inspired How Much a Dollar Cost by kendrick. Very Dope, something I look forward to hearing again, not sure what genre it is tho.
I've always stood at a distance from Radiohead - but I liked the slightly experimental nature of this
Big Radiohead fan, so there's a fair bias here. Not my favorite album if theirs, but still a banger.
Yay, another Radiohead album less than a week after my first one. I definitely liked this one more than my previous one, Hail to the Thief. The first three songs didn't do much for me, but it was pretty good after that. I'm hoping I'll like that other Radiohead albums on this list even more. My favourite songs were Knives Out and Morning Bell/Amnesiac.
So much more textured and warm than Kid A. Subtle; rewards deep listening. Rich with inventive melodies and delicious tension. Reminds you Radiohead is actually a good band despite being memed to death.

For an album that’s often considered Kid A’s reheated leftovers, Radiohead still manage moments of incredible beauty and complexity. Jonny Greenwood is in especially fine form here.
love them!!!!!!!!
This was good. But it wasn't mind blowing by any stretch. There were some amazing riffs here but I never got past the impression that Radiohead is super proud of themselves. This album is pretentious. But it is also pretty good and I can't argue with the musicianship.
Bet fr
OK Computer is my all time favourite album - when this came out it was seen as "The weird one" but listening to it again all these years later it really isn't all that difficult to listen to. I really enjoyed this and the time away from it has given it some room to stand on its own for me.
Not really into radiohead normally but quite enjoyed this, the last two songs are a bit too much for me but overall pretty decent! Probably closer to 3.5/5 than 4/5 for me
Very nice
Artsy, emo-boy music. I get why people like Radiohead, but something was missing for me, so I can't give it a 5. The production, vocals, and instruments are amazing though. Overall, really captivating album, but didn't completely click with me. Best Songs: Pyramid Song, Knives Out, Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Life in a Glasshouse Worst Songs: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, Hunting Bears,
Not their favorite album of mine but most bands would kill to have an album like this in their discography l.
Good but totally depressing music
Even a bad Radiohead album beats a Dexys Midnight Runner
Often overlooked because of Kid A, but a great album in its own right. Some Radiohead classics on this album. Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army, Knives Out, I Might Be Wrong. 4/5
i luv radiohead
there's something oddly comforting about this album, love the rhythms
Basically a collection of B sides, but a collection of B sides from one of the best albums of all time so you can't be too flabbergasted by its inclusion on the list, I guess. Not my favorite Radiohead album, but songs like "Pyramid Song" and "Knives Out" are among the band's best. Then you have the song "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors" though, which could very well be the worst song ever created in the history of mankind. Four outta five.
Kid A's ugly little ginger brother. You like him a lot, you just don't love him. Best Tracks: Pyramid Song; You & Whose Army?; I Might Be Wrong
Amnesiac is a great album because it’s made by Radiohead or because it’s actually great is how I often feel listening to this. I thoroughly enjoy Radiohead and all their music. Amnesiac is one album of theirs that I find to be on the outer edge of their appeal to me. It is Kid A part two and is similar. It also builds on what made Kid A so unique and great but some of it is a bit over exaggerated than Kid A. Their musically stylings and production is great as always. There are a few songs on here that are as good as any other album. But as a whole album I feel this one isn’t quite as good yet still better than the king of limbs. 7.7/10
This is a fantastic album. As my first Radiohead album on this journey (#30 overall), I really enjoyed this. I'm interested to see how OK Computer stacks up, as that album's reputation is well-known around here. Amnesiac was a solid 4/5.
Me gustan los elementos jazzeros 🌿
Radiohead vient encore nous proposer une très belle compilation d'hipstereries, qui ne manquera pas de satisfaire tous les bobos de France et d'ailleurs. A mettre entre toutes les mains.
Favorites: Life in a Glass House, Dollars and Cents.
Great album but as good as OK Computer
Ég er OK computer maður, en það sem er flott hér er virkilega flott. Langt síðan ég heyrði þessa plötu og hún eldist bara ljómandi vel. En það er nú samt ekki allt jafn skemmtilegt.
Fantastic album, very interesting
Great
Heard it several times already. I like it more than the average Radiohead fan, as I think it’s unfair to consider it as a load of Kid A cast-offs. It lacks the same through-line in the tracklisting, but many of the songs are excellent on their own terms, even if Thom Yorke pushes it a little too far with the artificial manipulation of his vocals. Favourite track: Life In A Glasshouse
Kid A has always been a smidge above in my mind, but both are life-changing albums.
Kid AB
I wasn't looking forward to another Radiohead Album, but the loops in the opening track caught my attention, next came Pyramid Song, a descent ballad with nice piano and distorted strings, the next song was fairly electronic/experimental followed by those eerie retro vocals in You and Whose Army, etc. The album has been criticized as an album of outtakes, but I like that aspect - you're really not sure what you're going to get when you flip to the next track. They certainly are a creative bunch, continuing to expand artistically, not afraid to alienate the fans who jumped on board with Creep and wanting more of the same.
this is a great album, and as well as the noise/electronica there are some more conventional and very beautiful songs that would fit into Ok Computer or In Rainbows. Definitely start here for the 'difficult Radiohead' rather than Kid A.
Kid A but weirder
Un d'aquells discos que realment guanyen amb les escoltes. El to opressiu i angustiós encaixa bé amb l'atmósfera d'aïllament individual de començaments del mil.leni
It took me a while to get into Radiohead, but this is a great album
Niet een van hun allerbeste platen, maar echt slechte platen hebben ze ook nog nooit gemaakt natuurlijk.
Mooi maar moeilijk. Ik rond ‘m af naar boven.
For being a glorified b sides record its a damn good one.
Want to listen to more Radiohead. Much less intense than I always thought it was.
Very much Radiohead. Not as good as OK computer but cool album.
No es mi favorito
should revisit this one. Lots going on.
En-trancing
Amnesiac has a magnificent couple of ending pieces and its consistency puts it strictly ahead of Kid A. Even the more pop-oriented tracks have funky mixing and appendices galore. This sits in the same sonic category as this year's We, which I also quite enjoyed. Abstract, existing warm fuzzies for the band, pretentious influences, etc. Good music.
Amnesiac is the album that made me a fan of Radiohead. Obviously a continuation of Kid A, this a great album to listen to preferably alone, at night, and with good headphones.
4.5/5. Melon's wrong, this might be top 3
I'm not convinced by this. I don't think it's their best.
Need to listen more to get the full benefit. Can tell it is going to be a good 'un.
Dimi zei: slecht... ik geef het daarom een 4
Before only listened to OK Computer and some tracks from The Bends, so I was expecting something similar to these records. But this one has a completely different sound to it. The vibe of this record is really melancholic even for Radiohead. I think Pyramid Song might be up there in the list of the saddest songs I've heard. The sadness just covers you like a fluffy blanket when this tune comes on. In this record the band tried to create a special atmosphere. There are a couple interludes consisting of weird sounding electronic soundscapes that connect the songs together and create a special mood. Even though the band tried to diversify the record a bit by adding a some semi-upbeat sounding moments, the pacing still seemed slow to me. In some moments I caught myself wanting to turn the record off, but some cool melodies and song ideas always stopped me from doing that. Overall I was left impressed by the band's eagerness to experiment and redefine their sound
A lot of good stuff on here. A few songs feel too bare/experimental for me, but the classic Radiohead sound and creativity are very much present. Minus a point for a lot of the lyrics kinda not making any sense. 7/10
It's not my favourite radiohead album, but I think it's a little underrated. Kid A is one of my favourite albums of all time, and it's a hard act to follow and not just sound like Kid A Lite. However this still has some great tracks on it, although it's not quite as consistent as some of their other albums. Pyramid song is a masterpiece, and life in a glass house is a standout jazzy mess (in a good way).
Top : I Might Be Wrong Flop : Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Jag gillar verkligen Radiohead men hur jag gärna än vill älska detta så jag gör inte det. Absolut inte dåligt men inte heller det bästa... Jag gillar Pyramid Song och You and whose Army? Radiohead är alltid Radiohead men älskar ej detta.
The album is called Amnesiac because I forgot half the songs on it(the rest were pretty good though)
grande album ainda nao ouvi mas irei amo
Good record, moody, but you can tell it's a lot of Kid A offcuts. It's a bit pretentious too.
Fine, never listened to Radiohead before so I'm looking forward to their other albums
I've seen Radiohead live a couple of times, great band. Big fan of OK Computer, and Kid A and The Bends and some of the later albums. But this one album in particular has never clicked with me. I continue to find minimal enjoyment in listening to it. Couple of great tracks in it like pyramid song and might be wrong that pull the album up to a 3/5
I came into this relisten with plenty of love for the album. I would honestly rank it in the band's top 3 at that point. Kid A is by far my favourite Radiohead album and sonically this is the next best thing. It seems that I forgot how incredibly disjointed Amnesiac really is. There is absolutely no flow to it. While it makes sense, considering the haphazard nature of its creation, it's not the greatest excuse. Incredibly strange sequencing, even stranger because I honestly have a hard time explaining why it takes me out of the groove this much. Half of this tracklist would easily slide into my Radiohead-best-of collection, but it's simply a project lesser than the sum of its parts. To be fair, when this album has low points, they really stand out. Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors and this version of Morning Bell are some of their worst tracks not made in the Pablo Honey era. Favourite track: Life In a Glasshouse
I'm glad this album eventually picked up because the first four tracks were Not Good (and I say that as someone who typically LOVES weird shit). I Might Be Wrong was the first enjoyable track on here and fortunately it was mostly listenable from there on out. There were a few spots throughout where I was really vibing with the music, but it definitely was not a majority of the runtime and I was not upset when it was over.
I have no idea how to effectively rate this. On the one hand, this band is genuinely really good and one that I like more than most of the bands so far on this list. On the other hand, this album was so much nonsense. The random songs didn't make sense, they had some that were basically two songs in one, and they kept trying to do this jamming things where they were just making sounds for the sake of it.
Не самый лучший их альбом, но Pyramid song у меня лайкнута
She radio on my head until I amnesiac
Original and evolving, every Radiohead project sounds the same but in a good way. Not my favorite of theirs because of some of the subdued nature, but nevertheless a shining example of making interesting noise to compliment interesting moods
Pretty good.
I spent two and a half decades not listening to this, and I have no regrets.
Is this better than Kid A? I don't think so.
I’ve always felt that Radiohead is overrated, but this album has two of my favorite Radiohead songs- Pyramid Song and Knives Out. Both songs are haunting beautiful, cinematic and emotional. I feel like they have these glimpses of brilliance where I understand the appeal and genius, but so much of their music falls flat for me.
I had this album when I was in high school, and I remember enjoying it more then than I do now. Now mind you, there are some absolute rippers on this record - "Pyramid Song" is great, "Knives Out" is great. On the other hand, there are a few tracks that are just more errant noodling with Yorke's warbling vocals on top, which look: I think his vocals work really well when the song itself is good, but when it's just a nothing-burger of a track ("Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors"), it makes for a bummer of a listen. More than a handful of these songs aren't bad, but aren't really good either. They're just kind of... boring, which is not a great word to hear when it comes to a Radiohead album. I dunno, y'all. Kid A got the better songs from this project. More accurately a 2.5.
Haha. Second Radiohead album in a month. I like this better. About half of these are at least interesting to me. I have heard about four of these songs before and maybe I will grow to understand Radiohead and maybe love them. The first cut has elements that remind me of Einsturzende Neubaten, some minimal techno bands and the corner percussion player using found pieces to bang on. Strangely, this is better than most as Thom is pulled back and not at empty cup whining. Of course, at least Pyramid which was released as a single has the trademark voice. The piano sounds pained. The lyrics sound pained. Maybe that is what I don't like mostly about Radiohead; the leaning into emoting every little thing. I do like the swinging near the end of the song. "Loser" by Beck quality to "I Might be Wrong". This record definitely feels like Radiohead trying to find new sounds. I like the loping quality to this. Right. "Knives Out". I feel like an arse saying this but this feels petty. Like trying to sound deep while processing an ordinary feeling. I remember being angry at the age of 16 and telling my friends that I was going to write a short story about a teen who plans revenge on his friends for not listening to him. Yeah, this reminds me of that cringe emotion of wishing someone dead or at least making that movie through your head. "Life in a Glasshouse" ain't no St. John's Infirmary. At the end, I still haven't learned to love them. However, I do get the changes between albums and why folks like them. Funny thing, a PJ Harvey song came on after and I thought, wow this is good. So, I am still not sure what puts me off my feed. I know a few folks who love this album and I have definitely found a song or two hear that I like and would play again. How influential? Not sure. It is part of the Kid A sessions which I hear a decent amount of people reference, so I guess it is a 3?
A great album with some absolute bangers like pyramid and Dollars and Cents. But why do Radiohead do such random songs that sounds like they’re just clanging pots and pans together or dropping things on the floor. Always confuses me
Song Ratings: P.L.S.I.A.C.T.B. 5.2/10 Just felt very hollow and dry. Pyramid Song 9.1/10 The piano throughout was incredible I doubt there will be a better song than this one. Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors 4/10 Straight Up Noise Pollution You And Whose Army? 9.1/10 The build up into the outro was 100 percent worth the wait. Such a well made song. I Might Be Wrong 7.6/10 Very solid I’m liking what I am hearing. Knives Out 7/10 A slight step down but still a good song. Morning Bell/Amnesiac 6.8/10 Not sure what was missing but something was. Background vocals were amazing though. Dollars and Cents 6.3/10 There were definitely some lacking elements but the production was amazing. Hunting Bears 4.7/10 Not necessarily bad just an instrumental. Like Spinning Plates 5.4/10 Just felt like a lot was happening without any real purpose. Life Is A Glasshouse 7.4/10 Whatever those instruments were they were elite.

Not my favourite but good all the same
The Radiohead album you know you’ve listened to, but can’t really remember anything about. Listening notes include: “Oh, weird, I thought that song was on Kid A”, “I think I just heard that song in an tv show recently”, “wow, this record has a lot of Radiohead classics on it… or maybe just songs that sound like other Radiohead classics?”, and other similar thoughts.
Mournful lyrics, rich music. I think I like this, but sometimes I'm not sure. The most wishy-washy review I've written. It doesn't immediately grab me, but it doesn't repulse me either. I feel like I need to listen to more Radiohead as it is making me curious, and that isn't a bad thing.
Still not my favourite Radiohead record. Probably the one I’ve listened to the least, always found it a bit inaccessible. I’ll devote more time time it because I’m sure it will eventually grow on me 25 years later. Favourite track: the pyramid song
This is my favorite Radiohead album on the list so far (3rd one). I liked a few of the songs, but Spinning Plates made me feel physically uncomfortable…so weird!
Having only listened to the song creep, I felt like I knew what I was getting into with this one, basically more of the same stuff that's made up this list so far. Alt Rock nonsense was my expectation. Instead, this album is experiential as heck. I'm not quite sure if I like it, but it does some interesting things. I guess the most surprising is hearing sounds they recorded in 2000/2001 that just sound like 2010s soundcloud or even more modern hyperpop. Do I like it? Not particularly, but I can see why this may have made the list. Favorite Track: I might be wrong
man I be side eyeing radiohead after I learnt the lead was acting funny. This album is cool, definitely would re-listen with some headphones. It evokes a mood but I'M WORKING! I'm realizing if an album isn't speaking to me while I work then I know it's not for me.
The companion of their previous album Kid A and recorded in the same sessions. A very creepy-sounding record, aural paranoia and isolation conveyed by minor keys, syncopated drum machines, and odd synth sounds and vocal treatments. Thom Yorke sounds especially morose and/or irritable on any given track, often wailing in a banshee falsetto. These two records further distance the band from the 90s guitar rock band they started out as. Compared to Kid A, there is less cohesion and theatricality; I think this really comes off as collection of stuff that they thought wasn't good enough or similar enough to be on Kid A, but still deserved release. The songs are an acquired taste and bear out some interesting ideas after repeated listens but this is not an accessible collection. If The Bends is their most accessible, conventional album, this is more of a piss-off (or even pissed-off) experiment. It ranks pretty low on Radiohead albums for me - there just isn't enough fire. That said, there are some stand-outs. I Might Be Wrong is a menacing yet haunting electronic groove. Dollars & Cents is an understated shuffle groove with paranoid-sounding synths and guitars. Life In a Glass House is a New Orleans funeral march.
average radiohead album but i didnt really like it thst much it wasnt the vibe
Took a bit to get into. Not my fav Radiohead but not bad
So not in the mood for this album today, or ever. Never been a Radiohead fan bc their sound irritates me. I know I’m in the minority. They’d never be in my top list, but I get that they’re somewhat significant.
I got this just days after getting The Bends, which is kind of unfair to this album. I love “Pyramid Song” and “I Might Be Wrong”, but otherwise didn’t feel especially into this album as much as Radiohead’s other masterpieces.
radiogood
I have normally overlooked this album, it's got some amazing songs, and some very unsatisfying ones
6/10
Good
Good jazz, very cool
Tuesday May 26th, 2026. Its giving "Intro music of a moderately well rated 2000s TV show". I am a fan of many of the more famous Radiohead songs but I wasn't a huge fan of this album. I like the piano parts in some of the songs but I didn't like some of the electronic effects. I really liked the intro of "I Might Be Wrong" though. 6/10.
There’s pretty songs on here for sure, and even the more abrasive experimental songs sound good, but it’s all just fine. I feel no emotions listening to this. “Life in a glasshouse” is the most interesting song thanks to the jazz instrumentals, but even that song just barely clicks with me. Maybe after listening to Kid A I’ll understand this companion album better, but for now it’s just meh.
Enjoyed this one, especially the jazz at the end. However, a friend said to me recently: Radiohead sounds like a whole lot of waiting for something to happen but nothing ever does - this album is true of that, not much if any rise and fall, fr it’s like if edging was an album
Impressive experimentation but nowhere near as cohesive as Kid A or In Rainbows
Certainly far from the best Radiohead album
283 It’s Radiohead, so you pretty much much know w hhh at to expect. Highly accomplished musicians, nonsense lyrics sang overly sincere, the smuggest fandom in music. Probably my least favourite Radiohead album but it contains my favourite Radiohead song (I might be Wrong) Highlights I might be Wrong Knives Out Morning Bell/Amnesiac.
It was certainly an interesting album. Nothing "bad" necessarily, but also not super enjoyable. Nothing I'd listen to again, but I can see how this would be very unique for its time. It sounds like it was made well, I just didn't vibe with it.
Huh?
honestly solid 3.5
Would give three and half stars if I could.
It's Radiohead, so it's pretty great. But this is not my favorite Radiohead album. When I get a Tier 2 album from a great band, it makes me wonder of all the tier 1 albums from that band are also on the 1001 list.
Perhaps appreciated for its advanced times of experimentalism, I could understand the draw. I personally will forever hold The Bends and In Rainbows as two must-listens, and hope that at least one of them may be on this list of 1001 Albums to Listen to Before You Die.
Listening to the spinning plates song felt like a spiritual experience
Very one note but Radiohead makes great ‘soundtrack’ albums!
I like some of the grooves, especially in the middle tracks, but this is too quiet, too meandering, too boring.
Engaging background music. Yes, that's a paradox, but I don't think Radiohead would mind.
Too abstract for me. I didn't truly dislike any of the songs, nor did I really enjoy any of them either. 2.5 rounded up to 3.
Have you heard "Epitaph Für Aikichi Kuboyama"? Nothing about it. Completely unrelated. I was expecting this to bore me to tears. And to be fair, the vocals here do bore me. The instrumentals, however, do not (mostly). There are enough little touches of interest through the long stretches of Thom Yorke's lethargic whining to make me think that maybe they were on to something. Apparently this is the stuff that didn't make the cut for "Kid A". Maybe I'll like "Kid A", then? We'll find out, I guess. Anyway, somewhat better than I was expecting.
an interesting, multi-layered listen, with lots of bursts of noise and synths and clattering beats. I think the noisier, glitchier, more disorientating tracks are the best
aaah bicha se eu tivesse 15 anos quem sabe. trenheira meio enjoada, mas até que teve uns momentos bacaninhas
Listened to during walk at work and 5k run. Not the best for running, but a good vibe chilling wise. Not the biggest fan of the songs with just-electronic sounds (Packed like Sardines a good example). Stand outs are Life in a Glasshouse, Pyramid Song, and Knives Out, with Pyramid Song being my favorite. Not bad, would try again (probs not though).
Sempre estranho ouvir Radiohead. é experimental demais. São vários estilos dentro de um disco. Mas nesse eu senti algo muito repetitivo. Parece uma coletânea de músicas não acabadas Ouvirei novamente
I mean, yeah...it's sad. It's whiny. It's brilliant in places. It's Radiohead.
Very intense. And kinda whiny. Wish I could give 3.5 but rounding down
Radiohead always has this recognizable sound. Definitely visible here. Very somber. Morning Bells/Amnesiac and Like Spinning Plates were my standouts. 6.5/10.
I remember getting this album in 2001 or so and thinking Radiohead were over. Such a comedown after the run from Bends to Kid A. They rebounded with In Rainbows but they have not been at the same level as they were for their golden run. Happily this is better than I remembered it. I might have listened twice back in the day, but I enjoyed this overall
I’m a fan of Radiohead, but not sure why this one made the list. There’s a few songs I like, but it definitely feels like the leftovers of Kid A at times. Rating 5/10 Favorite song: You and whose army?
Some songs are supremely good. "Packt," and "I Might Be Wrong" securely fit into Radiohead's best space as strange, surreal, but still accesible alt rock. Other songs are tough to get through, to say the least: "Pulk" comes to mind. And then you have the Radiohead special of quizzical alt rock with sinister riffs, ghostly Yorke vocals, and plenty of reverb everywhere. Those are still good, but they're not the showstoppers like the first-mentioned songs.
I enjoyed this album and find I appreciate Radiohead’s unique and haunting sound.
Hmmm. Decent, because Radiohead is great but hard to get into many songs. Great sound ofc but again, there were many songs I found trouble fully enjoying.
Es un álbum totalmente blanco y negro. Los temas buenos son buenísimos y los malos son malísimos, pero valió la pena escucharlo
Liked the Pyramid Song for the piano, Amnesiac for the percussion, and Life in a Glasshouse for the horns, piano, real music, not synthesized to death like the rest of the album. The whiny, flat, off key vocals were depressing and just plain irritating.
buena instrumentación, pero en lo personal me gustan las canciones mas cantadas
this project in general has totally expanded my music tastes but it has also shown me I am just not a Radiohead-head :/ Wouldn’t turn this off nor would I put it on
Not there best but good
Compared to every other Radiohead release it isn't particularly melodic or experimental. And just like its title it was one of those albums which I listened to but can't tell you anything that really happened.
This probably found me on a wrong day, because it sounds like I should give it a 5/5. Sadly I just didn't feel it.
Life in glasshouse é a melhor musica do álbum na minha opinião, misturando jazz e melancolia desesperadora. E Hunting Bears também me chamou atenção, uma vibração de caça mesmo. Mas o restante do album eu não gosteo
I am a certified Radiohead enjoyer, but this ain't their best work
ahhh radiohead. pyramid song, knives out... exceptional songs! I might be wrong stood out to this time around, thats the new playlisted track from here. Overall will have to give a 3 however! All in all a few skips and or forgettable songs, with an unforgettable pyramid shaped song in there too. Not my favourite radiohead album and thats okay! Still an enjoyable listen that i return to once in a blue moon!
A Radiohead album I've never listened to. Good, but not their best.
3.5
they're so sad.
It's OK. Not my kind of music, but pleasant to listen regardless.
Sonically proficient lyrically lacking
Good songs but kinda repeating
A good album, too many purely instrumental songs and parts of songs for my liking though
If only Radiohead stuck to maximalism. They would be one of my favorite bands. But they didn’t, so, naturally, my only resort is complaining about it on the internet. But really, their maximalist songs (examples from this particular album: Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army?) are so fucking chills inducing. I wish we could get more of this from them instead of what they usually prefer. Radiohead is one of the only bands (besides Swans, off the top of my head) who are capable of producing music that is so my thing as well as music that’s so not my thing. I don’t mind the atmosphere in their music most of the time. I just don’t enjoy how quiet a lot of their songs are. Most of their albums, this one included, are a mishmash of songs I find incredible as well as some that I think are kinda meh. I like a lot of their music, but there isn’t a single album I find wholly satisfying. 7/10
Radiohead's The Bends is one of my favourite albums of all time, so I feel a little disappointed to give Amnesiac quite low rating. It's definitely not one of their better works. I already knew I wasn't a big fan of their works past 2000, and I have listened to a couple songs from this album before, but really the only part of the album that I really like are the instrumentals. You And Whose Army? and Knives Out were really good listens though, but most of the other songs were kind of meh. The songs are sort of underwhelming in a way? They start off good and build up towards something, but most never really seem to reach it if that makes sense. It's just a pretty forgettable album.
Pyramid Song You and Whose Army? I Might Be Wrong Knives Out Like Spinning Plates Life in a Glasshouse
I can’t get into Radiohead. I have tried and tried and tried. Maybe because I didn’t listen to them in their prime? I have no idea. Weak neutral.
BOOORINGGGG. some parts are pretty good but it gets genuinely bad at times so it evens out
An interesing album. Not really my type. I really liked life in a glasshouse and hnting bears. Love the slow music , it's calming.
Now that we have had all 6(!) Radiihead on the list, I shall rank them: #6 - In Rainbows #5 - Amnesiac #4 - The Bends #3 - Kid A #2 - Hail to the Thief #1 - OK Computer Accordingly, this is a 2.5
Not my favorite Radiohead album but still enjoyable. I think I’d rank it a 4/10 but going with a 3. Felt like they’re getting just too weird here for me to really like it. Some crazy jazz feels on life is a glasshouse, such a different vibe for them and heavy electric vibes throughout. Fave songs: knives out, Life in a glass house
💘 Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box 💘 I Might Be Wrong
Легко прослуховується і має свою атмосферу. Проте якісь конкретні треки з першого прослуховування мені не запам'яталися
I can appreciate the technical brilliance of the music, but it's just not for me.
Easily my least favorite Radiohead album besides Pablo Honey and i'm generally surprised that's not consensus. First four tracks are great, cool new version of Morning Bell, aside from that I mostly skip this.
This is the fifth album from British band Radiohead, from 2001. It’s the first entry from them on this list - how many more will there be? To me this is a hodgepodge of alternative/electronica, and seems to be more mellow than their earlier music. I like that the band’s name is taken from a Talking Heads song. Overall it’s ok, 3.5 stars.
Yay!! Radiohead are so weird. I don't have this album because I found their singles in this era annoying. But it's all relative, because I like them a lot better than the majority of artists on this list. 'Knives Out' even has a movie named after it. Still, if I'm being honest, this is a 3 for me. Too plaintive, no hooks. I like the instrumentation though. Highlight: 'Life in a Glasshouse'
A lot of weird stuff which I like but I don’t hear anything that’ll get repeat listening. Enjoyed more on a second listen with headphones.
I was kind of hoping more from this Radiohead album, but I just couldn't seem to find what I was looking for.
Vakkert, stemningsfyllt. Radiohead-sound.
Wasn’t in the headspace for this album on this first go around, so maybe I’ll change my mind later. Dull and forgettable. I’ve always thought the radio head glaze is crazy, but at least for good albums. This just wasn’t that enjoyable of a listen at the moment. Favs: I might be wrong, Knives out
knives out omggg
I remember Radiohead from the ’90s as a progressive-alternative pop band. There’s not much of that here; “Amnesiac” is more suited for falling asleep to. The songs aren’t even bad (“Knives Out” could even be called good), but somehow each one feels like it’s missing at least 10 BPM. It might work as a soundtrack for taking sleeping pills, but I don’t have the right occasions for that. It would work for me personally as elevator music, but first of all, I don’t have an elevator, and second, it’s probably too unconventional for the mainstream. Nice try, but for me, this record is an oversized sleeping pill. As I’ve seen, there are more Radiohead albums coming—that could get exhausting...
I really enjoyed the melodies on this album. It's exactly the kind of alternative rock I like! It feels very dreamy and dark at the same time. Edit: I listened to Kid A just a few days later, and I found it far more consistent, powerful and groundbreaking ! Rating: 3.5/5
I mean it’s alright. Kinda meh for Radiohead. You and what army reminded my brain rotted mind of that Nick eh 30 clip.
very depressing, not in the way i like it. "You And Whose Army?" has a nice feel. Pyramid Song and Knives Out is too one dimensional for me.
Não gostei muito desse álbum. Os outros do Radiohead são melhores. Achei muito eletrônico e chato.
Much better end to end than Kid A - no song quite as much of a banger as 'everything in its right place' but a far more chilled and enjoyable listen imo
Not bad, but clearly Kid A cutting room floor scraps. Not essential.
I’ll say what said about Kid A… I appreciate Radiohead’s artistry, but th bulk of their catalog is for critics and hardcore fans; not the casual listener.
It's all very clever musically, it's a shame Thom's voice grinds my gears, only so much of it i can take.
Weird, elegant, a bit dull but challenging- typical Radiohead album. I enjoyed it, especially the last song. The ultimate thinking man´s band, for better or worse.
top 3 - Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army, Hunting Bears. It’s fine, that’s about it.
Some bangers some to experimental for me
É sempre aquele misto de grande som e desconforto, não quero ouvir mais
E um álbum OK de Radiohead sem grandes highlights
A bit too depressing for me but nice instrumentals.
hard to listen to, but still ok.
Fun album, feels much fresher than its age.
Years ago, this was one of my favourite Radiohead albums. Now, I can clearly hear what a lot of people talk about in those days: this is a Kid A B-sides. Three songs stand out, though: Knives Out, I might be wrong and Pyramid Song. A 3,5.
A great headphones album but, to my ears, this is a "lesser" Radiohead album made up of songs that are like interesting ideas but not fully formed songs. There are a few exceptions--"I Might Be Wrong," "Knives Out," and the gorgeous "Pyramid Song"--but a lot of these ate like outtakes from Kid S, especially on the back half of the album. I do like the closer "In a Glasshouse" with its New Orleans horns and arrangement. But, overall, it's nowhere near as cohesive or engrossing as their best albums.
I like Radiohead but this album was kind of slow and plodding.
Okay
A good, solid, chill vibe.
Honestly there are some great songs on here, but this is not my favorite Radiohead album. Still, a 3 for just being Radiohead. 3/15/26
I enjoy Kid A, and I’m surprised I haven’t heard this. After review, this was released about 9 months afterward and is basically more material from those sessions. It seems a tad more experimental and some of the vocal effects might not have been super needed, but really enjoyed this! 3.6/5.0
Solid tunes but a bit abstract to be frequently listened to
I’m a big fan. However tracks on this album very mixed for me. Maybe not quite in the mood so a 3.
Added to Dissociation playlist
I knew a couple of these songs going into this album, The Pyramid Song and Like Spinning Plates. Knowing that this comes after Kid A, I feel like I like Kid A more, but similar vibes surely. This one is a little too same-y. I enjoyed You And Whose Army and I Might Be Wrong. But maybe I just wasn't in the right mood to enjoy as a whole. Life in a Glasshouse was a pleasant ending but came a bit out of left field with the trumpet and extra band, I would've like more of that maybe sprinkled in throughout. But I enjoyed that dynamic of song more than most on the album.
I like the overall idea and vibe of the album, but too many tracks are a tad too experimental, noisy or disharmonious for me so I wouldn't decide to listen to them on my own. Tracks I couldn't connect to at all: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors Tracks I could've liked but something's off: Packt Like Sardines In a Crushd Tin Box, Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Like Spinning Plates, Life In a Glasshouse Tracks I like: Pyramid Song, Knives Out, Hunting Bears Tracks I really like: You And Whose Army?, I Might Be Wrong Tracks I love: Dollars and Cents
I like radiohead not one of their better ones but got better as it finished
Pyramid song is perfect, the rest ranges from bleep bloopy to great
I only just had Radiohead. In fact, the last 3 days I've had an album from a band I've had before. I want something new! You can hear how good they are, but the whine really stops the music from going anywhere to be banging. As with the other Radiohead albums - good music, shame about the whinge.
nice little mood piece with a few very pretty songs, but kind of a silly inclusion on this list, even next to other records by the same band
Suena demasiado a lo que tiene Thom ya de solista, y eso no es malo pero está medio aburrido
first of many radiohead albums here and this one is partially a flop in my book. at this point they were shifting in their music style but they were on the verge of flying off the cliff also. still has some goods though.
My least favorite thing in this exercise is bumping into an album that swings between 2 and 5. Do I settle on 3, which I consider OK but I won't come back to this album much if at all? Or do I settle on 4, which to me means I'll definitely be coming back?
It's Another Radiohead album. Good stuff not really different than any other RH album
This was fine but I never felt very pulled by it.
Every radiohead song blended together and slopped into a walkman would sound like this. It's John Radiohead. Can I have some other artists now please??
I like Radiohead. They're unique and adventurous. But this album was a bit too different at times for too long. A few really good songs. A few decent listens. But another 3.
Ok
Pretty decent; It's no OK Computer or The Bends, but it's also not garbage.
This is the least engaging of the Radiohead albums I've listened to, many of which I love deeply. This ends up feeling like the leftover ideas from Kid A instead of a complete, finished work. Still sounds nice though.
I don't really care for Radiohead, mostly because of the vocals. I prefer Amnesiac to the more famous OK Computer. I'm swithering beteen 3 and 4 for this one.
Gimme in rainbows tho
Some killer some filler
Wow. It's so different.
Tempted to give it a 2 but there are some good tracks that save it. Not Radiohead’s best work.
Hmmm taki raczej słabszy Radiohead. I mówię to jako osoba, która kocha kilka ich kawałków. Ale ta płyta była taka senna w złym tego słowa znaczeniu. Pozbawiona iskry. 6/10
mysterious, alien invasion
joa
7/10
Har svårt att behålla fokus. Det blir bakgrundsmusik. Men bra bakgrundsmusik.
the sounds of doom and gloom
Listens: 2 Standout Tracks: Pyramid Song, I Might Be Wrong I think this album, and Pablo Honey.... and maybe The King Of Limbs are probably the albums I am the least familiar with in the Radiohead collection, so I am looking forward to a proper and thorough listen. --- This album had a few bangers, but otherwise felt pretty experimental. That's not a good or bad thing necessarily. The use of trumpets was pretty nice, and not so common on their other albums. I am not sure that this needed to be on the list, unlike OK Computer, Hail To The Thief, The Bends and Kid A (and I can only assume In Rainbows at this point).
Thom Yorke will write a good melody and sing the same word 10 times and people will cum without even touching themselves. It’s pretty good
Truly, I have never gotten into Radiohead and this was not in my top three of what I have listened to by them.
loveeee radiohead
It was a decent listen
Not listened before, I think I checked out with Kid A. When this is good, this is pretty good, as long as you like listening to his voice. When it's bad (I'm looking at you Pulk/Pull Revolving Door) it's really bad.
The highs (“Packt Like Sardines”, “I Might Be Wrong”, “Knives Out”, “Dollars and Cents”, “Life in a Glasshouse”) are high, but some of this album drags badly and sounds exactly like what it is: Kid A leftovers. This might be sacrilege to some: TKOL > Amnesiac.
This was a good album, not for me, but enjoyable. 6.4/10
Life in a glass house is pretty cool with a jazzy feel. Hunting Bears could work really well in a movie scene, I can see it in my head. Overall, too many songs are just meandering. Again I am not super into radiohead and think I need to be in a specific setting for it to work for me.
I would consider myself a Radiohead fan. Really enjoy listening to their albums that I own. Understanding that I’m sure they are an acquired taste and appreciation comes from multiple listens. I did find this one a bit ‘more of the same’ and as I’ve said when reviewing other Radiohead albums, Thom’s whining can be a bit much at times. I found this one OK but probably would put on another Radiohead album if I was in that kind of listening mood.
Be Radiohead. Start a song fragile, whispy and moody, run that for half a song, add in a couple of tracks thwn keep adding jntil you have 100 instruments (most of them the same instrument) playing a wall of sounds, back it off a bit, rinse, repeat. Its not a terrible album but i find it a bit repetitive and I aint dancing to it. To be fair i like it a bit more than OK Computer. Its closer to UNKLE’s Rabbit In Your Headlights which Yorke co-wrote and I quite like, but a while album of the same mope, build, crecendo, drop?
Classic Radiohead. Impeccably produced. Boundary pushing. Impossibly impenetrable.
Cool and interesting
Haven’t ever managed to conclude this is a good album. I might be wrong (is decent). And Knives Out more typical fodder. Can’t get into weirder stuff like Like Spinning Plates. Headache inducing. Will be generous and give it 2.6.
