Meh, too samey and dad rocky for my liking ;)
Love it, got it on Vinyl and errything
Cool vibe, no real standout songs but a bit of an experience
Elvis is Elvis innit
Big cowboys and Indians/Western meets glam rock vibes here! Really fun with lots of catchy songs and always gotta appreciate anyone trying to be a bit different!
Great lyrics but a bit boring? Ask me again in 30 years xx
I’ve avoided Kanye because I always thought the dude guy seemed like a massive dick (!). Now I’ve been forced to listen to MBDTF… I listened to the album 3 times 😅 I thought every song bought something unique with a whole bunch of collabs which makes the album a ride start to finish. Especially liked the Aphex Twin sample! Dudes still a nightmare, just rating the music here okay
First song is a bit of an epic journey. Rest is meh and samey for me, imo nothing unique compared to everything else coming out at that period. Drummer is a monster though!
Fun album, quite enjoyed this. Essential listening for an angsty midlife crisis.
Really enjoyed this post punk goodness, the Light Pours Out Of Me is especially a banger. Solid 4
Absolutely does what it says on the tin! No one does it like Iggy. I think this will lead me to explore more of his back catalogue
First time listening to a Beatles album back to back. Was hoping I’d be engrossed but unfortunately didn’t really spark joy for me, obviously pioneers but find the lyrics generic and the songs samey
Amazing combination of songs by obviously an amazing combination of individuals. Every song bought something unique to the album which made it an engaging listen. Shame the full album isn’t on Spotify!
Perfectly palatable 80s synthy pop, nothing more, nothing less for me
Smooth as hell, can’t think of a more suitable album name! I enjoyed the first half but felt the latter dragged somewhat with some quite drawn out songs
Tight as hell, an impressive array of genres across the album, the seee being my favourite of the bunch. Reckon I’ll explore their back catalogue a bit further
More upbeat than the New Order I’ve listened to recently but love love loved this album. Some of the coolest stuff coming out in that period imo
Perfectly good listen, with nice vocals and harmonies. Not quite sure if a top 1001 however!
Too cliche and reliant on Nbombs and misogyny imo, although not a bad listen as with most old school hip hop
A good burrito should have enough filling to never feasibly get airborne
Comedy or not, comedibly bad from my perspective
Easiest 5* for me, absolutely timeless and sounds as fresh today as it did 35(!) years ago!
Too punk for me. That’s probably exactly want they wanted. Oops
Incredibly annoying, can’t put my finger on it.
Don’t think I’ve listened to anything more quintessentially 90s, an enjoyable listen but purely from a nostalgia POV
Generally not my sort of thing, but a 4* for a solid number of absolute bangers and for being general legends
Lovely little trip into the abyss
Okay, sounds like a well polished bar band
Nice to see some more international music finally! Made updating my spreadsheets ✨funky✨
Thought I’d find it cliche and dad-rocky, but just banger over banger. Closest I’ll get to the levels of freedom our humble neighbours over the pond get
Timeless funky nostalgia fest, easiest 5* going
Not really for me but big props noting the incredibly male driven genre she managed to break into and the artists she’s influenced to date
Rootin tootin set of tunes
Meh, perhaps the London Underground song ruined the Jam for me
Not bad but a bit generic and a lot to sit through
Went in thinking I’d hate it, but really interesting modern take on country drawing in lots of different influences
Incredibly unique, innovative and beautiful album, ez 5
Great little find, enjoyed very much. Great melodies, lyrics and instrumentation
Surprisingly after enjoying the majority of hip hop assigned so far, found this incredibly meh
How many songs about heart break can you stick in an album, pull yourself together man! Gets a star for nostalgia though
Not a huge metal fan, seems generic to me. My loyalties lie with Sabbath
3* only gets an extra star for the Shrek song
Nothing to shout about, but couple of bangers with Layla and Little Wing
Legendary, takes a bunch of songs and made them undeniably his, what a dude
Okay, doesn’t take off compared to his other incredible stuff
Not sure how a album of covers is a top 1001 smh
Not quite a 5 for me as I don’t feel inspired by a few of the tracks, once in a lifetime is obviously GOAT tier
Sucker for these guys, every song is well thought out, unique and dat bass
Proper jam this, perhaps repetitive in parts but keeps the 4th star as it flows so well!
When does the CS&N horde end?
I am a Brian eno Stan
2* as Christ this hasn’t aged well..
4* despite it being a sunny Friday afternoon listen!
Not quite sure what I listened to beyond a bit of cultural appropriation but hey, it was fun
Pre disco beegees big snooze
4* as I’m Radiohead Neek BUT it ain’t Kid A
Scrapes a 3 purely for the bomb album cover
No idea wtf going on but I’m here for it
Easiest 5 if my life, bless the strokes banishing shite dad rock to the 90s
Kinda snooze
Amazing energy!
Naff aside from the obvious
Easy 5*, close second to IV. Timeless!
Not bad but pretty generic
Holds up really well, another firm favourite of mine 🔥
People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis, you can’t trust them Jez
Every track sounded the same..
Snooze
Prick tbh
Unexpected 5*, loved seeing something different.
Timeless
