Reviews (page 3 of 15)
I really loved this album but not to the extend that some people do. It is a 4,5 for me but I will give it a 5 because of the impact it had on music and other people.
One of the easiest 5s I can give, don't even need to listen to give this a 5 as it's a regular rotation of mine. I'll of course listen as part of the project though. Despite it being a masterpiece, it's not my favourite Radiohead album, but they set the bar so high with their work. 5 stars
A perfect album, stunning piece of music from start to finish
depressing music that makes you smile
Just, I mean, what a record. I had the fortune of listening to this one on a rainy day and it set the mood perfectly. The composition of music and themes throughout is mesmerizing. Thom's voice adds as a perfect accompaniment to such beautiful sounds. Each track carries its own story, but the record is tied together so well and so fluidly, it's simply wonderful. This will forever be a milestone record in music.
Top album, 5 stars!
zbc 10/10
This is my favorite Radiohead album. I think it's their most theatrical, most emotional, and most complete project to date. Paranoid Android and Exit Music (For A Film) are two of my favorite songs of all time. I will give it a 5. HOWEVER, it needs to be made clear that this album is a net negative on humanity for producing some of the most insufferable music fans on the planet.
This is the album OK Computer by the band Radiohead
One of the most influential albums of my life, still holds up
Love me some Radiohead!
I really enjoy Radiohead!
#872. Pretty good. Pretty good. 5/5: great
Very relevant to modern times. Love how the story of alienation from society due to the overwhelming technological advancements comes together in such a sad and thought provoking way. The theme is great and music is well done. One of my favorite albums.
i’ve heard this album so many times before. i had a huge radiohead phase back in high school and early college. they are really really good at managing three guitarists on this album. incredible bass playing throughout. i mean it’s ok computer what hasn’t been said a million times about ok computer. the vibes are incredible. paying a lot of attention to all the glitchy computer sounds. incredible attention to detail throughout this whole project. also incredibly catchy. there isn’t a single song on this thing i don’t like. nothing’s out of place. the track sequencing is absolutely perfect. to think i was worried it wasn’t going to hold up. i havent listened to this thing since getting into a ton of other music. and im listening to the original, ive listened to the remaster and its waaay better. its insane how good this thing is. im at the drop of exit music. i would die for colin greenwood. god i love bass guitar. fitter happier blew my mind as a kid. i’m also listening to this in the middle of the night. really heightens the vibe. i think climbing up the walls is my favorite song this listen. i’ve always loved that one. it’s gonna be a glorious day BWOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW yea it’s hard not to give this a 5. i totally expected to be contrarian on this after listening to so much other music since the last time i heard this but yea it holds up. great album. lmao ok computer is a good album, big whoop.
I hadn’t heard this in a while and listening to it I can see why it is lauded, with its fierce rock easing easily into indie ballads it is remarkable. I am a sucker for shifting tempos; I love songs that sound like Pink Floyd and Nick Drake and adore any mention of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – this album is pure excellence.
I can still remember catching the music video for Paranoid Android for the first time and loving the video and not really paying that much attention to the music itself. But then later listening to it and the rest of the album and loving it. Still loving the album 30 years later.
YES YES YES I love this one WE HOPE THAT YOU CHOKE
I bought this the week it was released. On the evidence of their previous albums we were not expecting this at all. It was instantly recognised to be something special. I think I noticed it by track two. Over the years I've fallen in and out of love with Radiohead many times. This album still sounds amazing after all these years though, nothing here sounds dated. It's beautifully produced, and it still has the power to raise hairs on the back of my neck.
My favorite album by a band I really love.
Ok, let’s go.
So what, no radio head? 📞 🛹 👞 💥 Undisputed masterpiece Fave track: Let Down
When he was asked how it felt to have predicted the future on Ok Computer, Thom Yorke pretty nonchalantly remarked that they “just looked at what was happening at the time”. There are many reasons I would consider this album a masterpiece - the fact that it has aged so well being one of them. It’s an album that holds the rare distinction of somehow living up to all of the praise it has received over the years. To me, it’s an album that has a great deal of personal significance, and it’s an album I’ll aways keep coming back to. In an album constructed exclusively of top tier tracks, I’ll just call out Let Down, for its ability to emotionally devastate every single time. What a special album. 5/5
Worthy of all it's praise
I love it
10/10 of course, need I say more? Stand-outs - Exit Music (For a Film) - Karma Police - Climbing Up the Walls - Lucky - The Tourist
Exit Music —> Let Down —> Karma Police pushes this to five stars.
Who doesn't love radiohead? Banger album. Exit music and no surprises soothe me
It's OK Computer. Nothing short of 5 stars would be appropriate.
Well, yeah....obviously this is an essential album. There's a reason those "[Person] Reacts To Hearing 'OK Computer' For The First Time!" videos on YouTube are so popular.
Honestly, there's parts of this album that I don't particularly care for. But the songs that are good, which is most of them, are just too good to give this anything less than a 5.
10/10
One of the all time beat
Kuuntelin tästä 20-vuotis version ”OK Computer OKNOTOK”, millä on yksi parhaimmista Radiohead biiseistä ”I Promise”. Kyseinen biisi jäi originaali julkaisulta pois, mitä ihmettelen suuresti.
Holy Shit. so erm… actually… basically… theoretically… honestly… if only I’m at my home rn instead of at family gatherings due to lunar new year. so that I can put on my okc vinyl and hear my second favourite radiohead album (my most favourite is kid a) while lying on my bed and ill ascend… but anyway i still listened to it the second time ever while going out for a walk in night. but anyway, what i want to say is that ok computer didnt live up to its name. ...in which i mean that its not an OK album that you can listen to on your COMPUTER. its the best album of all time but its not even the best radiohead album. (the best one is kid a that only narrowly beats okc.) 5/5!
Masterpiece. I didn’t fully appreciate the genius of this until years after the fact, but it’s amazing. The concepts, the writing, the musicianship, all top notch. It’s very much a transitional album for Radiohead, as you can hear elements of grunge and alternative get mixed in with some programming and electronic sounds, but it all blends together so well.
Easiest 5 on the list. In my opinion it’s the best album of the 90s and arguably the best of all time. The breadth of songwriting, musicianship and the journey you go on listening to this are staggering. Yes - I love Radiohead. This is their masterpiece. 5
An iconic 90s staple.
HEEEEEEYYYY MAAAANNN SLOW DOOOOOWWWWNNN One of my favorite albums of all time from one of my favorite bands of all time. 5/5
Best album i've ever heard. Radiohead got me into music and listening to albums.
Masterpiece
Spooky
Legendarisk
Ah, my favourite album when I was a teen. I've probably listened to it more than any other single album ever. Am I about to go all contrarian and try to claim it's overrated? It's not! Believe the hype! Are there better albums from the 90s, better albums that came out in 1997, even? Of course, but it might still hold the top spot in my heart, even 3 decades on. Listening to this the whole way through for the first time in probably a decade, I notice that this feels like an album that was meant for vinyl, with a clear side-A and side-B feel to it. Side B much less cohesive.
Ingenting å utsette på denne, ingen skips nødvendig.
One of the all time great albums
Classic album, always a banger
Maybe the best album of the 90’S
This album was, is, and will always be very dear to me.
One of the best triad of albums by a band ever. In my 13ns I was blown by The Bends. In my 15ns this album changed my perception of rock and life in general, it explained perfectly my angst and brought forward that cynic look at politicians and capitalism. And I wasn't even aware of what would come two years later One of the most trascendental albums of my life.
I've already listened to No Surprises and Exit Music (For a Film) but not the whole album in its entirety. Definitely more of an album to relax to
Favorite songs: Paranoid Android, Exit Music (For a Film), Let Down, Karma Police, Climbing Up the Walls, No Surprises, Lucky, The Tourist
When I first heard this album a while back I was a Radiohead hater. After listening to a larger variety of albums from this challenge, I appreciate the difference of the album now. Well I'll be I really liked the opening track, much more than I remember Edit Mar 27 2026: 4 —> wow it has really grown on me. I never thought I would have a Radiohead album at a 5
BASED
Stunning
I HAVE NO WORDS.
What a record - masterpiece
Top 3 album of all time for me. I first heard this as a teenager laying in bed home sick from school. From the first curious, careening guitar chords I was absolutely locked in, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Over the next hour or so my mind got completely blown apart. Densely complex, technically astounding, fiercely intelligent, darkly groovy, ineffably intoxicating, depressingly prescient. What else is there to say about this towering masterpiece of modern music? A generational work of art.
Masterclass in beautiful, yet unsettling songs.
Incredible from front to back, not a single second wasted on the record. Most people who've listened to rock radio in the last 30 years are acutely aware of "Paranoid Android," "Karma Police," and "No Surprises," but it can't be stated enough that "Airbag" is an astounding album opener. Sets the melancholic tone while stating up front that this is still a rock band. Couldn't get enough of it, listened like five or six times over 24 hours.
Well, I accidentally wrote my rating for this album under In Rainbows so see my rating for that album for my thoughts on OK Computer. As for my rating of In Rainbows, I'll write it here. All my complaints about songs being thematically non sequitur are done away with for In Rainbows. Every song feels as if it has a place in the tracklist and flows into each other flawlessly. Every song is replayable and I have even gone out of my way to listen to live recordings and cover renditions of the entire album, both by Radiohead themselves and by cover bands. That's how much I like this (In Rainbows) album. Unfortunately, I am about to give OK Computer a 5 in order to offset the fact that I gave In Rainbows a 3, though imagine that these are changed. For all it matters, at least I will know the true placement of In Rainbows on my summary page. I don't mind.
Fantastic album definite 5.
BEST birthday gift the generator could give me
Amazing
Everything that could be said about this album has already been said. Simply one of the best ever, and redefined music forever. 10/10
One of the best of all time
Airbag - I love how prominent the base is on this song, I truly feel it’s the most under appreciated instrument by a long shot and it really made this song . This song is dramatic and its vocals are so haunting despite me not even understanding what the vocalist is saying. Straight off the bat, this album has incredibly strong themes and a nice unique blend of synth, rock and a sort of ethereality I’ve yet to come across. It’s nostalgic and familiar but also uncanny, it’s a musification of a liminal space and I love it. Paranoid Android - The guitar is so raw, to the extent that I can imagine every movement of each string from when it’s being plucked to when it hits the guitar on its way back. The blend of instruments perfectly matches the high pitched haunting vocals. But when the vocalist breaks the instruments become almost fun, reminding me of tango which leads me to believe how infectious the singers voice really is. I was less dread filled throughout this and had more fun, especially at the 3 minute mark when the instrumental completely takes over and fills the song with so much gravity. It’s like they took a break just to show you they can still fucking play. And then immediately afterwards the vocalist repeating ‘rain down’ brings me straight back to feeling hollow and desperate. This album is emotionally infectious and I feel very melancholy, it’s incredibly impressive Subterranean Homesick Alien - Just more of the same which is nothing to complain about, this album is like that feeling when you finish your favourite show and you desperately want more but then you discover hidden episodes and you’re not only satisfied but euphoric. So far I don’t think I could pick a favourite track because each song transfers the same feeling one after another. Exit Music (for a film) The most ‘unprocessed’ song so far, but still so effectively eerie, what I believe to be a choir in the background fills any room in the song left for you to come back up for air. There’s a feeling that music can provide that I constantly chase called frisson, thé feeling of shivers throughout your body and this song delivered that. I have no idea what this song is about but the final lyrics ‘I hope that you choke’ build on the empty, desperate feeling this album creates so well already. Let Down A song beginning with a more hopeful feeling. Uplifting drums, guitars and vocals with a strong feeling of nostalgia. It reminds me of the times I’d draw figures on the inside of the windows in the car as a child. But now the nostalgia has transformed into a feeling of loss, rather than feeling as though those I’m glad I had the luxury of consistent, mundane but noticeable anchors of peace throughout my childhood, instead I’m feeling a grievance for a time I’ll never experience again. This album is certainly something to behold if it can evoke such profound emotions and thought processes such as these. Karma Police - The vocals are shrill and dry in the first half and break constantly but I feel as though the vocalist wields this as a display of emotional provocation rather than a sign of a lack of skill. Thé instruments deteriorate throughout which gives me the impression this is meant to illustrate a degradation of effort due to the lyric ‘I’ve given all I have’ or something akin to that. The most ‘song-like’ song on the album so far. Fitter Happier - a depressing and dystopian set of guidelines I found similar to ‘I have no mouth yet I must scream’ Electioneering - A stereotypical rock track with some good vocals and wicked instruments, electrifying energy with a stress inducing pitch and tempo. How on earth does one even play a guitar at that speed? Just an incredible stank-face inducing track. Incredible. I decided to stop here due to three reasons - I already have a rating I doubt I’m going to stray from - I want to explore this album completely before listening to the rest and I don’t like providing thoughts on albums I’m even slightly privy to. - I’m so fucking bummer out already and don’t think I can take much more But overall this album is nothing short of incredibly effective, it’s depressing, melancholy, nostalgic but also so foreign. It gives. I haven’t felt this hopeless since I read the aforementioned ‘I have no mouth yet I must scream’ and that’s about an android taking over the planet torturing a select few with their darkest fears. I’m a huge horror fan and very few pieces of media have provided me with such a hopeless and empty but frissonant feeling. Simply a work of art.
favs: exit music, let down, no surprises, the tourist
An amazing, lonely, paranoid album. Isolated but not cold. Robotic but full of emotion. One of the greatest of all time. There are some brilliant moments on this album, the first half of which is stronger than the second. I personally like Airbag but Paranoid Android is a 10/10 and the bassline is so hard. The placement of Electioneering right after Fitter Happier is genius, Exit Music and Karma Police are beautiful, and the soft lullaby of No Surprises is absolutely haunting. On this listen, I was particularly taken by Lucky!
Love their sound here, particularly how this album unfolds.
I see the website wants me to have a bad day. Why else would u recommend radiohead??? Let Down is such a beautiful song; it will be the end of me
im sat
I loved this album!! After listening to Amnesiac earlier this month I wasn’t sure what to expect because I didn’t love that album but I really enjoyed this one. I already was familiar with a few of the songs on this one. I liked that there was some variety in the songs on this album. I’m very surprised with The Tourist, I loved that song a lot even though I typically don’t enjoy slower songs, however Thom Yorkes voice is just so beautiful it really made me like it.
Huanson wer weniger Sterne gilbt!
OK Computer just feels right every time I listen to it. The songs are moody and strange but still really catchy. Never gets old.
Amazing album. My favourite Radiohead album and one of my favourite albums of all time.
On this album, Radiohead reached their peak. A wonderful album front to back. While they continued to make music for many years, it was never as good as this.
This was when Radiohead started to get really interesting. Had this album since its release. No surprise this is a 5 star for me.
Favourites: Subterranean Homesick Alien Exit Music (For a Film) Let Down Fitter Happier No Surprises Lucky The Tourist
Come on, it’s Radiohead
one of my favourite albums ever and one of the best albums ever made so no surprises (yeah like the song) here
Awesome album. Loved it.
omydays letterlijk perfect in every way dit is de eerste keer dat ik hier een 5 geef en dit album verdient da ZO hard i love it
A critical change for the band and the beginning of their creative dominance. Classic.
Several classic songs. It sounds great. Nothing else like it. Masterpiece.
I have been listening to Radiohead for years and this album never gets overplayed.
Perhaps the one Radiohead record I adore? As a disaffected teen in the late 90s this scratched an itch NüMetal/HardNow never could.
It’s a great album by any measure and I enjoyed my first listen through of the entire album for many years. I personally prefer The Bends but this is first rate as well. Sometimes Thom is a bit whiny for my liking but generally the hypnotic vocals add to the overall vibe.
10/10
Full of mysterious, oppressive and dystopian atmosphere, set to pleasing britpop-from-a-distant-planet music A lot of individually strong tracks assembled together into one full listen, maybe some of the second half wasn't as great, only for the high bar it set itself, and then there's Fitter Happier, an atmosphere-building nonmusic but I still find it engaging, don't know if it's a good use of space on repeat listens but I guess it's comparable to the skits on a lot of rap albums, just with more to offer to the album's aesthetic feel There are times I could choose In Rainbows or The Bends over this, but for its diversity of experiences and the level of artistic uniqueness it achieved for its time I will place it above the rest
one of my fave albums of all time.
yeah yeah…
Let Down is a gorgeous song. It’s maybe my favorite Radiohead song. This album was introduced by a boyfriend who was way too old for me and romanticized the 90s way too much and talked about OK computer way to damn much. It’s funny listening to this record with distance from that time. It holds up, but not as much as I had stars in my eyes about it and that idiot when I was 23.
What can I say about an amazing album that hasn’t already been said?
II have listened to this album before, love let down!
I don’t care how annoying this makes me, I love this album.
I think it's a near perfect album. There are about 6 all time great songs on the album. I don't think there are any bad songs on it. I was going to go with 4.5/5 but I've talked myself into a 5/5.
Perfect album
Absolutely one of the best albums ever, so so many all time great tracks crammed on here
i feel like i appreciate this album more and more every time i listen to it. ive enjoyed it every single time i listened from the get go but each time i listen to it again i find another song that im like yeah this is also a 10. listening to the remastered OKNOTOK also gives you additional B side tracks, i partiulcarly enjoyed I Promise, Man of War, polyethene and How I made my Millions 5
One of my fav albums by my fav bands! Also one of those albums that came out the year I was born so I have a soft spot for it. Exit Music (For A Film) always hits me like a freight train
HILY FUCKING SHIT BEST ALBUM SO FAR. that autistic lil mouse (complimentary) is so talented and poured so much emotion into this album exit music for a film is just phenomenal and let down made me cry
Great obviously.
Окей. Лучшая песня - Karma Police.
Aye
5 stars no notes. I also listened to the B sides like man O war and pearly because I want more. I also listened to the unfinished version of Nude because that's also amazing. OK I had loads of notes
10/10 fuckin masterpiece. extra points for OKNOTOK
Sounds absolutely immaculate. Even when the songs aren't 100% your bag, you have to admit that the production is surely up there for GOAT. Loved it.
I didn't actually start exploring Radiohead until Freshman year of college when a new friend of mine dropped a USB drive of music on me with the complete (to that time) discography of Radiohead. I remember latching onto this album early and listening to it on repeat for about a week straight. Given its relative accessibility and familiarity by way of Karma Police, Exit Music and No Surprises, OK Computer is one of two Radiohead albums that I would recommend to virgin listeners (the other being personal favorite In Rainbows). This album has a beautiful arc to it with the only interruption to its perfect sequencing being Fitter Happier (which as an aside, I actually don't hate as some others do; I just think it is a bit distracting). Included among the standouts (as if you can say there are any unworthy songs here) is Paranoid Android: a bi-polar jam that oscillates between melancholic/spacey sections and frantic explosions. Exit Music (For A Film) is a beautifully bleak sounding track with a rewardingly slow-building climax that has gotten plenty of love from Hollywood. Karma Police deserves all of its flowers -- catchy AF and about as close to pop as Radiohead have gotten since Creep. Always love the freewheeling nature of Electioneering and contrasting slow trudge of Climbing Up the Walls. No Surprises is yet another beautifully melancholic ballad. And The Tourist continues a theme among Radiohead's work for creating great closing songs -- IMO an area that few acts do as well. Unquestionable 5.
Well this is an easy ass 5 for me as part of my "holy trinity" when it comes to Radiohead. Bassline on Airbag fucking rules. Paranoid Android is a Radiohead staple and uses the "multiple songs in one song" a la A Day In The Life/Bohemian Rhapsody. Artists that can do this are super impressive to me. Plus the guitar work is *chefs kiss* Love the alien sounds on Homesick Alien. The sludgy drop on Exit Music with the ethereal guitar in the back is one of the best moments of their discography. The clashing of sounds coming together towards the end of Let Down rules. Tripping balls singing the chorus of Karma Police at Lolla stands out as an all time moment for me. Climbing Up The Walls might be the creepiest song by them and I love it. Great juxtaposition in sound next to No Surprises, which is super beautiful musically, but super depressing lyric wise. Both Lucky and The Tourist are beautiful. Love the completeness of the album telling him to "slow down" when the first song starts with Airbag. Always thought it was such a great closer to the rest of the paranoia of the album. Plus the guitar at the end is just insanely emotional. 5/5 top tier album for me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fav: Let Down least fav:electioneering iconic: no surprises
This is an obvious masterpiece. Not my first rodeo with Radiohead, and this one is the crown jewel. Has aged incredibly well despite being a product of its era - computer paranoia is here to stay.
classic one, my first album ever
Should I kill myself or have a cup of tea?
meh not a fan, did cry tho
.
Oh jheeze, this after Dark Side Of The Moon, this list is fucking delivering. Another 5 stars for me, still not my favourite Radiohead album but the stars don't allow me sufficient wiggle room to rate this 4.5.
one of the top 10 albums of all time
if this album doesnt make you cry you are an emotionless psychopath and you should be ejected from society
A classic for sure.
makes me feel like im hallucinating while walking it feels like my life is ending
Wow
It's a 5/5 album with no discussion. It sounds like nothing else of the time, and comes completely out of left field amid the '90s grunge-into-altrock-commercialism pipeline the decade was heading down. Incredible album not only in terms of uniqueness, but the songs are paced well and written superbly.
One of the easiest 5/5 ratings I could possibly give. And surprisingly, this album has actually grown on me over the years. Back in the day I always found The Bends & In Rainbows far more accessible, but as I’ve got more into Radiohead this album comes to the fore as an utter masterpiece. Incredible sound, amazing instrumental work and some of the best song-writing of a generation. One part that has really become one of my favourites is ‘The Tourist’ as a closer, utterly brilliant. No skips, no duds, as close to perfect as you could get.
It’s Ok Computer, what can I say about this album that hasn’t been said over the last 25 years. All killer no filler.
Oh my, this is an emotional one. I found this at a time in my life when I was hopefully disillusioned - beginning to recognize that the things I wanted weren't real and wouldn't make me happy. I don't think I knew it at the time, but the feel of this album perfectly expressed my smiling dread. Beautiful and hard to listen to at times for me personally because of the emotions it evokes.
Brilliant when it came out and still brilliant now.
I find it amazing the way Radiohead can take odds and ends, strange sounds, twisted noises, the uneven, insistent racket at the edge of life and fashion something so beautiful, insubstantial and yet unforgettable. Like a found poem crafted from the gossamer threads that cover a beach once the tide has withdrawn.
Appreciate that some of the tracks are not immediately accessible but this is one hell of an album. Listened to it for the first time on headphones as theres so much going on, very good production value. Also a few bangers thrown into the mix, its a classic.
Instant five no notes, okay some notes: this is easily there most consistently brilliant album, there are moments on the bends and in rainbows that individually top this, and even some of the modern stuff… really love “burn the witch” from moon shaped pool and “spectre” their go at a bond theme… but this is lots of things, but most of all it’s consistent
Very formative to my teen ears. Overly biased review.
emotional disaster
doesn’t matter how many times you’ve listened to it, it always goes crazy.
I wish people would be less annoying about Radiohead but damned if they aren’t actually really great. I think this is my favorite of their albums, and I’ve always particularly loved Exist Music (for a Film).
Listening to it in 2026 definitely doesn’t make it sound as fresh as it probably did when it first dropped cause every alt rock band after this seemed to take it as inspiration. But I guess that’s really the most impressive thing about it after all. Great album. Standout tracks to me are Paranoid Android, Karma Police and Electioneering!
დიდი გული<3
One of my all time favorites.
Seminal classic! Perfection
I LOVE RADIOHEAD BIG WIN FOR FIRST ALBUM
classic
fantastic album, total classic with so many memorable hits
Ah hell yeah, my second favorite Radiohead album (behind The Bends). A classic 90s album, that enjoy re-listening to quite often.
Good - better than I thought. Favs: paranoid android and karma police
I mean it's an all time classic. One of the best of all time. I don't have much to say.
I hate how good this album is and how long it has taken me to actually listen to it completely.
Easy 5/5. It is melancholic, atmospheric, dramatic and just straight fire. Watch me ascend and cry to this album in the corner. I saved every song.
5/5 I don't hand out 5/5s very often but holy shit. Radiohead just took me through an emotional journey and a half, ripped my heart out and then stitched it back together. I'm crying. I'm shaking. I'm throwing up. But I'd go through this experience 50 times in a row WILLINGLY. I love this album so fucking much and it's one of my favourites of all time. Fuck you Thom Yorke but thank you Radiohead for this album.
insano
I’ve own it for many years. Always loved it.
Bleak, depressing, at points dystopian. A classic for a reason.
What I think is most impressive about this album is how Radiohead masquerades as a traditional Rock Band, playing conventional instruments and songwriting techniques to create singles which get played on mainstream radio. They do this while also being able to use that format to create something like Ok Computer - this ridiculously complicated, thick, heavy artistic masterpiece. I remember hearing the song Paranoid Android for the first time when I was younger and getting into his type of music. It was an eye opening experience for me to hear how complex, complicated and intricate rock music could and somehow still fit into this relatively mainstream and excepted format. When I listened to the rest of the album it also hugely impacted my appreciation for listening and appreciating albums in their entirety. Each song has its own place on this album, each note its own place in the song, and the whole thing comes together to balance itself out. It's definitely not for the front of heart, theres a lot of anxiety and emotional intensity that comes through the album, but it feels like by the end it achieves a sense of resolve, saying to the listing. "Yes, this world is a messed up place to be, yet here we are together and we're going to be ok."
Rocking in the New Year with some Radiohead and a nasty flu. I don’t have the energy to think of something witty or interesting to say about this album. It’s just a great album
Not a single bad song on this album, flows nicely and quite a few bangers. Second listen to this album and don't know why I don't own it
BEST SONGS: - Paranoid Android - Exit Music (For A Film) - Karma Police - No Surprises
lovelovelove
Obvs!
Every song experiments with a different sound and it feels fresh and interesting. The climax of every song was worth it and I'd get lost in the moment. Standouts: Paranoid Android Exit Music (For a Film) Let Down Karma Police Climbing Up the Walls Lucky The Tourist
The rest of this album could be dogs barking and I'd still give it a 5 if it had Paranoid Android and No Surprises on it. A better music critic would probably tell you why this is one of the greatest albums of all time. I like that it feels diverse, while still being very cohesive. Mr. Robot vibes but 25 years ahead of its time.
good stuff. feels like every song gives you something to chew on. favorite song is Let Down
Rating: 9/10 The pinnacle of 90’s artsy alt rock and all that and it is exceptional all the way through, has so many different tracks that you could argue is the best and maybe change your answer for a lot, but then again I always want it give it some award for the best album that is almost somehow the most overrated. Because as quality as it is from front to back, it’s not perfect and I could definitely say frontloaded is an accurate descriptor. Tracks 1-6 still feels like a perfect run for me while 7-12 (besides the amazing highlight No Surprises) kinda grow off of me over time. In conclusion Kid A better
Favorite tracks: Karma Police Paranoid Android Subterranean Homesick Alien Exit Music (For A Film) Let Down No Surprises
Big fan of this, mellow and feeling full
OK Computer this is epic Radiohead is kind of like jazz: Ever met somebody who's really into jazz and DOESN'T also play an instrument? Every massive Radiohead fan I've ever met owns an electric guitar. Discussing this band's discography is practically the lingua franca of 20/30-something hipster-types. You can sort of build up a taxonomy of fanatics by their favourite: OK Computer tends to be the 'default' choice in that it's Radiohead at their most neurotic while still maintaining that danceable rock sensibility, and outside of maybe The Bends is usually the virgin listen. I mean that in a complimentary way, too; nobody's throwing on Amnesiac for the family road trip. OK Computer just has this well-deserved mythology surrounding it that still sounds just as fresh, just as interesting, and just as sweet three decades later. OK Computer is pretty much perfect front to back, and stands to be listened to basically endlessly. it's that 90s alt-rock sound distilled to its most unadulterated form: angsty, overdriven, and instantly nostalgic. There's just so many iconic heart-thumping moments on this thing: Thom's vocal delivery on Karma Police, the incredible breakdown in the latter part of Exit Music, those opening chords on Airbag... What kind of novel praise is left to give this record? Would hardly change a note on this thing. Time to reorganize the Radiohead tier list again. Sorry Kid A. fav tracks: Airbag, Paranoid Android, No Surprises, Exit Music (For a Film), Karma Police, the rest of the album
i have been waiting for this one
absolute peak I listened it ALOT 5/5
so good I still like the bends better but such a close second for radiohead fave songs- honestly love all these songs but let down is obviously an amazing song 4.8 stars 9.5/10 album
Karma police
Once again, I enjoyed being told to listen to one of my favorite albums ever. I could've just rated it 5/5 without even listening since I *thought* I knew the brilliant album like the back of my hand…but the fact that it's the day after Christmas also meant that, for the first time, I got to listen to the album on extremely nice headphones and picked up so many details in the mix that I'd never noticed before. I'd imagine it's not for everyone, but I also can't imagine any way to improve it. A+!
Tremendous work
"In an interstellar burst I'm back to save the universe" que línea, me hace sentirme un superheroe. *Exit Music. Todavía es capaz de ponerme la piel de gallina en el día y momento correcto poniendole mi total atención *Karma Police. Lo más Beatlesco que hay en este album (en parte por robarse la melodía de Sexy Sadie), y lo escribo como un cumplido. *No Surprises. Lo que me atrapa es la vibra. Es la rola que pones un domingo nublado donde no hay nada que hacer y estás un poco crudo y aguitado porque mañana es lunes
Been listening to and thinking about this on and off for about a week. Each time I come back it feels a bit like flagellation. I think Frank basically nailed it - I admire this and never really want to hear it again. As a film score it feels appropriate, but just listening to Radiohead alone is feeling more and more nonessential. OK Computer is great and they are evil music wizards. Airbag might be my favorite - was messing around with that riff this week.
I admire this album without really liking it. Radiohead can do ‘epic’ and ‘dramatic’ better than probably any other modern band. And their moments of brilliance on the album are more than enough to outshine the parts where Thom Yorke’s atonal moaning grates. That odd timed solo toward the end of paranoid android rocks hard and weird. Also I just got new headphones that are life changing and this is the first album I put on. So many intricate details and cool flourishes.
Ashamed to say I'd never listened to this album from cover to cover. Another entry in the category of "albums I haven't gotten around to listening to but I knew I would like." It's so confidently, patiently odd. Subterranean Homesick Alien is a good example. What the hell are you talking about, Thom? I don't know, but I'm into it
This has a few of my favorites - Electioneering, Homesick Alien - and then some of the more commercial-ish hits like Karma Police and Paranoid Android which are still great in my book. This time through enjoyed Lucky. This album is toward the bottom of the A tier of Radiohead albums for me. Amazing, but would put HTTT or In Rainbows at the top of the list most days.
Et av verdens beste album, topp 5 noen sinne.
In my opinion, this is the last great mainstream rock album. And one of the best albums of the last 30 years. It is just absolutely stellar on all fronts. Even Fitter Happier is kinda charming in its own weird way. I also think that Exit Music (For a Film) is a perfect song. It's beautiful and haunting and I want it injected into my veins.
very good
Okay not as good as the Adele 21 album
subterranean homesick alien😝
Packed melancholy beauty of a record. The big songs are classics for a. Reason, but it’s “Fitter Happier” in the middle of all this very human music that make the record exhibit the screen glow.
Lushly produced, sublimely paced and packed with emotionally stirring songs and compositions, Radiohead took a giant step forward and signaled their ambition on this release, a concept album that feels like the Gen X version of The Wall. It’s the last Radiohead guitar-rock album, yet it’s much more than just that, and if you listen hard enough you can hear traces of what’s to come. One of the best releases of the ‘90s.
Still sounds great decades later.
Sounds great; it's the clear frontrunner out of the handful of Radiohead albums I've heard. Highlights: "Paranoid Android" (stellar); "Let Down;" "Karma Police;" and "No Surprises" (love the Beach Boys-inspired guitar on this one). The music video for "Paranoid Android" is... not what I would have pictured.
Airbag is nice song I think let down is my favourite, fitter happier is crazy song The guitar in electioneering is a vibe The tourist my favourite now 3/5 for me
Astronomical album. Already listened to and has solidified itself in my top 10 and maybe my top 5. The creative genius of Radiohead in this album shines with their new sound and style presented all throughout this album. It has emotional and gritty songs, and has an ability to switch to a more 'upbeat' and less emotionally drived song without any issues. Very very iconic, really indulging into this project makes you see that there isn't really any skips on this album. 11/10
I love Radiohead and am completely biased.
ez 5/5
This album is perfect. I could go on about every song, but I will highlight a few. Subterranean Homesick Alien accomplishes a feeling of floating through space. Exit Music (for Romeo and Juliet) accomplishes such an incredible crescendo that is overwhelmingly beautiful. Karma Police is immediately recognizable and amazing. Electioneering is just a badass raw sounding song. I didn't realize No Surprises was the top song on the album.
Already listened, AND own it physically so you just KNOW this is a great album. Insane production all around, with some real emotional value as well, topped of with some of the best songs known to man. I believe that this is Radiohead's best album, and deserving of a 10/10.
gayyy
Just listen to the toursist, and for my first time ever doing this they picked a bomb asf album. I’m now onto climbing up the walls, and right off the bat I noticed that the guitar was going up the scale almost like (you guessed it) climbing up a wall.
masterpiece
Just awesome
What can you say that hasn’t already been said? One of the greatest albums ever made. Incredible
безоговорочная имба. в любимых больше половины альбома.
Meh...I mean, it's a great album. I just don't feel like digging that deep into it.
Top songs - Let down, climbing up the walls Good album, really well made. Now I understand why people call it the best album of all time, definitely a contender.
Probably the best Album that ever got made. Fav: Paranoid Android
hell yeah
Best tracks: Paranoid Android Subterranean Homesick Alien Let Down* Karma Police
A personal favourite. “I’m amazed that I survived/ an airbag saved my life” often gives me chills. As relevant as it’s ever been.
It's a really solid album. One of the best of the nineties.
He buzzes like a fridge
When this came out I was 18 years old. When I listened to this I felt at home, cared for, like no other music. I listened to it over and over. I showed it to a girl I was in love with. She took off my earphones and said: "depressing". What? I would never have worded it this way. Later when I married (another girl) I showed it to my wife. She had the same reaction. 30 years later I show it to my daughter. She heard of Radiohead through TikTok (mainly Let Down). She gets it and plays it up and down. She also feels at home. (She even tagged our blackboard with „no alarms and no surprises https://imgur.com/a/1VuhiVq ) I guess it's not for everyone - but for those for whom it is they feel the comfort I felt when I was 18. For the other countless people I tried to show it since then - they never got it and I couldn't explain them the beauty of it
I don’t know what to say about this album other than I love it just as much today as I did when it came out. It just doesn’t age - in fact, it still sounds like an album from the future. Impossibly good.
I love a band who try to do what they want - regardless of trends, or other pressures and I have always felt radhiohead were one of these bands, at times I haven't much liked some of their output but my regard has remained pretty constant. This album however is a corker. Multi-layered, with some real political balls (which I also love) and some damn fine tunes. Very possibly worthy of the praise often heaped on it - that is rarely the case.
20/10 no notes
I expected to not like this album as much as I do. But I guess there’s good reason for it to be called Radiohead’s magnum opus.
This album is amazing. Having said that, it sends me to the edge, the brink of despair. I did not listen to it today because I might fall over that edge if I did listen. I don’t have the testicular fortitude to handle it right now.
I loved it
Top 2 or 3 by them
It’s a favorite of mine and always will be. So creative. It’s like an orchestra. The soundscapes and the lyrics match perfectly.
Classic
By far my favourite album of theirs. I'm tempted to dock it a star purely for Fitter Happier but the rest of the album is good enough to overcome how bad that track is.
masterpiece
Le pongo 5 estrellas por la trascendencia, pero me duele decir que al escucharlo nuevamente no me pareció TAAAAN bueno, le pondría 4...
Pretty, pretty, pretty goood!
Knew about half the songs but didn’t know they were Radiohead or from this album. Totally hear the inspiration in this album to the 1975.
Listens: Many Standout Tracks: Karma Police, Climbing Up The Walls, Exit Music (For A Film) Lucky, Man of War (from OK COMPUTER OKNOTOK 1997 2017) I tend to cycle on which Radiohead album is my favorite, between In Rainbows, OK Computer and Hail To The Thief. I think, for the purposes of this review, lets just go with OK Computer. There's a ton of stuff to like here, but my absolute favorite is Climbing Up The Walls. It is an absolute stunner of a song, perfectly encapsulating that anxious, dreadful, paranoid, hungry (ravenous), crawling out of my skin feeling. The drum beat, the guitar and bass sliding up and down the strings. the weird chime sounds and the distortions. So fucking good. It has an almost alien quality to it. This song was used in a specific scene of Yellowjackets Season 2 and it really really set the mood in that scene. Karma Police, Exit Music (For a Film), Electioneering, Paranoid Android and Lucky are all also bangers too. And then, if you happen to listen to the extended version of the album, Man Of War is also another killer track. And finally, shoutout to the Easy Star All-Stars for doing a full album cover/remix/re-imagining of OK Computer (called Radiodread) in Reggae/Dub. That shit is also tight.
Classic
Absolute classic!!!
If I had access to this album when I was 11-14, there’s a chance it would have destroyed my life. But I have it now, and it’s pretty incredible
One of my favorite albums and favorite radiohead album.
Radiodread is actually better
Exceptional sound
This is a 6!
Perfect.
Growing up, my parents would regularly play this album as we took long rides. I probably heard every song on it a hundred times by the time I turned 10, so notalgia undeniably plays a role in my love for this album. That said, I believe it still completely holds up. The only low point on the album is Electioneering, and that that is far from a bad song. It just happens to be the only song that isn't nearly perfect (not counting Fitter Happier). Even after all these years, I never tire of playing it all the way through. Easy 5/5.
Loved this band since the 90s
Listened twice today. Just a truly all around incredible album. Several classics, and even fitter happier works in the context of this album. 5 stars
I've already listened to his album (33). It's a classic for a reason.
Best album so far! Had to listen to it twice!
This is quite probably my favourite album of all time. It's atmospheric, the tonal shifts just work and it's an unmistakable sound that no other band has come close to producing.
Beautiful!
Very lovely listen. Some great songs I’d previously missed.
As an empowered and informed member of society, who will not cry in public and still kisses with saliva, I am fond but not in love with this album. BORN TO DIE / WORLD IS A FUCK / 鬼神 Kill Em All 1989 / I am trash man / 410,757,864,530 DEAD COPS Fave Tracks: Paranoid Android, Let Down, Karma Police, No Surprises (the hits basically). 4.5/5
Deserves the hype it gets. Insanely well made and produced, musically DENSE in a good way (mad fusion of genres from shoegaze to folk and electronic bits coming through), lyrically captures something about the alienation and dystopia of britain changing in the 90s. This is impressive but I do think the bends has more of an emotional punch to it
The album that made me. How lucky we are to have been alive for this one. Finally getting to see Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017, and them opening their set with Let Down for the first time was one of the defining moments of my life.
This is simply one of the most stunning albums ever made. It's all a bit understated and contained, but on a careful listen it's so layered, with every instrument and the vocals modestly but effectively contributing to beautiful, cinematographic soundscapes. Fabulous music, a very definite 5 for me.
The only song I go back and forth on is paranoid android, but the rest of the album is basically solid. The only thing missing is more experimental bits and a tad more cohesion, which arrives on the next album 4.6/5 - 5/5
I knew what this one was going to be - straight up 5 - so good. Still hearing new things in these tracks on every listen. Bliss
Man, this list stacked up two of my 5/5 albums back-to-back--Led Zeppelin II into OK Computer. This album deserves all the praise and hype that it receives and is (sadly) just as relevant today as it was when it was released back in 1997. It talks about rampant consumerism, capitalism, social alienation, and political malaise. The only Radiohead album that surpasses this one in my book is "In Rainbows" and I think that's just because it came out when I was in high school and I remember downloading it (which was still pretty revolutionary at the time) and listening to it on repeat the day/week that it came out. Nostalgia is a hell of a thing. Personal favorite tracks: - Paranoid Android - Subterranean Homesick Alien - Karma Police - No Surprises
11/10 This is one of the best albums of the last 20 years. I like radiohead, but this album is on another level. 11-10-2025
My favourite album made by Radiohead
More than ok. No surprises
Top 5 albumns of all time
A 5-star worthy album if there ever was one. Amazingly ambitious. Favorite track: Paranoid Android
Amazing album Exit music is the best song radiohead made
This is their opus It’s perfect
If you're depressed, just be happy. It ain't that hard lil bro
sooooo good. No surprise here. Loved this album for many year. Truly a masterpiece.
An essential work. Paranoid Android, Karma Police, No Surprises... An album that changed history.
This album made me a lifetime RH fan! Melodies about being skeptical of technology never sounded so great!
Nothing I write in this review is going to change your mind on the music you just heard. Radiohead is one of the most polarizing bands in modern memory and this album in particular makes it easy to take sides. I have no interest in trying to convince you one way or the other. I’d simply like to tell you why I think this is one of the best albums ever made. From start to finish, OK Computer creates something sonically that shaped the kind of music I wanted to listen to for the next 30 years. There is a palpable energy and a power pushing against the melody and lyricism. As far as I was concerned, this was the first ‘rock’ album to do this well and that’s why it’s an important snapshot in time to me. Now, to be clear, yes, Thom Yorke is a pretentious prick and way too full of himself and yes, there are plenty of failed Radiohead musical experiments soon to follow, but this album is a group of desperate, searching songs which invite me to dig into them. What brings me back so often is the depth and layering that exists on each carefully crafted track. Maybe I’m full of shit, as all critics are, but when I listen to this album, I hear 12 attempts at trying to create something unique or beautiful musically, but then each is overwhelmed or distorted by the drone or din of the world around us, of automation and the sound of forces that control us. The simple melodies and phrases, signifying this attempt at individuality, return in each track, sometimes only as catches or distorted versions of themselves, but are never able to fully reorganize in this world of homogeneity and conformity. Ultimately, every song devolves and ends up sounding incredibly similar to all of the others on the album, but I think that’s the point. It is definitely not because the band can only play in one style, or doesn’t have chops. It is a conscious artistic choice to make a statement through the arrangement and composition of forced monotony in the face of individuality. It’s also why the last song, The Tourist, sounds and feels so different - they’re not real - they’re just a visitor, someone passing through, outside of the usual order of things. Understanding that the organizing principle in the songs was part of the overall meaning invited me to look at things in a different light. Going further along these lines, the overall sound is distorted by the use of traditional instruments in nontraditional ways (for example, the main guitar part of Lucky is purposefully played on the strings above the fret nut, near the tuning pegs) and all of the little bits of distortion and layering of tracks, which create abrasive sound clashes and mechanize the natural sounds. The attention to detail on the whole album is truly an operatic undertaking that still has me hearing new things in the complex arrangements to this day. This mix is still what I’m drawn to - a tension between melodic vocal phrasing or perhaps the lyrics themselves being poetic (not that Yorke’s lyrics are all that well crafted) and a palpable tension building through the instrumentation. I’ve enjoyed the same dynamics in rock, rap, alternative and folk over the last 30 years. I can point to this album, second only to perhaps Public Enemy’s Fear of a Black Planet, as that which helped me best understand how the relationship and interplay of music and instrmentation can help shape a songs gravity. Interesting final note - this is definitely not my favorite Radiohead album. But it’s still hot fire.
love this album
Hot
One of the greatest albums of all time. Every song is so beautiful and interesting, and they come together in an album with such a unique sound that you don’t really get in many others.
A really good with so many great Radiohead songs. I loved Exit Music (For A Film), Let Down, Karma Police and No Surprises the most.
An album worthy of all the praise it’s received since its release almost 30 years ago. It still sounds fresh (though a smidge more “90’s sounding” as time passes), and its themes of paranoia, government skepticism, and anxiety are as relevant today as ever. Airbag is possibly my favorite Radiohead song and in my opinion is one of the all time great album openers. Paranoid Android is the quintessential Radiohead song (not Creep!), and Exit Music (For A Film) is still chilling as ever. The TikTok resurgence of Let Down and No Surprises (the latter has joined the 1B listens on Spotify club) is hilarious to me: these were always two of my favorite tracks and their embrace by Gen Z speaks to how timeless these songs are. Karma Police will forever be excellent, and Electioneering is somehow underrated. If you can pick apart anything on this album, I think an argument could be made that finishing the album with Lucky makes it slightly better, even if The Tourist is a fine song itself. I’m of the opinion that Fitter, Happier is awesome, though I know lots of people consider it a skip. Easily one of greatest albums of all time - one that rightly belongs in the same conversation as Dark Side Of The Moon in terms of great psychedelic-tinged heady art rock. Whats amazing about Radiohead is that I’m not even sure it’s my one of my top three albums by them. It probably is, but In Rainbows, Kid A, and the Bends are also masterpieces.
No brainer: Five Stars.
10/10 It’s moments like these that make me appreciate this album reviewing journey all the more. I already know and love Radiohead, have seen them live, have listened to all of their music, but for me, my introduction to them was when they started diving into the more electronic end of things, Kid A onwards. I’ve listened to and appreciated OK Computer before, but have perhaps never listened to it in as much depth as I have today. It’s glorious. The songwriting just flows, with songs almost endlessly developing and advancing, but they also know when to throw in something a little more subtle and static when the need arises. It’s art rock for the sake of the music, not for the sake of calling it art rock. The production is remarkable, as they undulate between sparse, bare-bones icy clarity and the cacophony of sound that almost overwhelms the speakers, filled with thick instrumentation, grit and distortion. The way they flow from idea to idea, without ever losing the thread of a song is remarkable. They throw in these almost poppy singles here and there through the album that work within the flow of the album, but have a slightly more radio friendly sound, but never derail the album. Every song has something different to say, all in a slightly different way, but it all blends into an all encompassing sound and thread that shifts, undulates, ebbs and flows. And in amongst all that, there is the overall vibe of the album. It’s a melancholy, but incredibly beautiful and, at times, uplifting album. I often see beauty in despair and this album encapsulates that feeling perfectly. It’s a singular piece of art that startles and delights. Airbag - What an opening. That riff is great, the drum fill is quality and then it thins out for the vocal and the bass comes in sparingly but impactfully. This builds and falls, ebbs and flows, with little tweaks and flurries of interesting effects use and ear candy. And there are some really fantastic hooks in there too. Paranoid Android - So many good riffs and some top quality pushing and pulling of the meter during the breakdown section. The vibe of this track is immense. It has the dynamic range of the Pixies, the melancholy of Joy Division, the ear for melody of the Beach Boys and the experimental edge of Can. And that’s all wrapped up in an evolving, adventurous pop song. It’s glorious. I could write about the different sections at length, but I write too much already. Subterranean Homesick Alien - That warm bath of synth/e-piano is so lush. They really know how to act with restraint in places. There are some busy elements here, but some of the guitar and electric piano lines are subtle and fleeting. There are so many beautiful arpeggiations and movements, and they also throw in a slight edge of distortion here and there that makes it feel like things are starting to crumble at the edges. It’s so good. Exit Music (For A Film) - Now we have something more stripped back. The changing dynamics of this album are so good, and this is no different. It never builds to the cacophony of other tracks, but there’s a really satisfying development as the various instruments come in and out, from the mellotron choir to the biting bass synth. It’s all so pretty, but with an edge of grit to it. Let Down - Good lord, it’s just banger after banger. There are some incredibly beautiful moments here, and there are so many ideas that the effortlessly shift through, never losing the thread of the song, which is such a hard thing to do. Some of the ideas start off seeming unfocused and then they just pull the focus wheel and everything sharpens up and clarifies, it’s just gorgeous. Oh, and I LOVE the arpeggiated synth outro. Karma Police - Oh, my, god. We’ve only just hit Karma Police and I’ve spent the last 5 tracks rambling about their greatness. This is melancholy pop perfection. The way it builds and drops away to the piano and vocal for the ‘this is what you’ll get’ section is absolutely glorious. There’s so much subtlety to the composition, but it all anchors around a simple core thread that just grips and engages the ear. Fitter Happier - It’s an interlude track, but it’s all vibe. The music and sound effects beneath the vocal is actually underrated in the depth and nuance it gives to this track, and it flows so well out of Karma Police. Electioneering - Out of the back of the interlude, we get some real pace and drive. The shifting, climbing and falling of the guitar against the vocal is great, and the drumming has got so much energy. It’s perhaps not got the level of inventiveness and variety of some other tracks, but it’s the perfect injection of vigour after Karma Police and Fitter Happier. Climbing Up The Walls - That evolving bass synth is great. This is another one that builds, washes and drifts, almost crumbling at the edges in places, even in the vocal which keeps saturating until it descends into a screaming wash of distortion. There’s a thread of clarity from the strings that hold the crumbling edifice together. No Surprises - The clarity and precision off the back of the last track is so effective. It’s a simple, yet incredibly potent song, another that does the build of instrumentation that drops out into something more sparse here and there. Another great poppy little number that still hangs on to the momentum of the album. Lucky - There’s a darker undertone to this, but it rises up into some incredibly beautiful, uplifting moments of clarity out of the sound wash. Those transitions are so smooth, that you hardly notice them until they’re done. Another remarkable song that’s composed and produced with such subtle dexterity. The Tourist - We finish off with another song that threads that fine line between sombre and uplifting. There’s so much depth and warmth to this track. There’s some really beautiful playing here from Jonny Greenwood and Philip Selway. This is such a calming way to end an absolutely genius album, while still having layered complexity, fantastic composition, musicianship and production.
Listened many times before, and love it dearly. Quite possibly the greatest rock album of all time, and it's not even the best Radiohead album.
Peak album 10/10
Absolute classic, never gets tired
Had a rainy day commute to listen to this one. I was amazed at how many songs I recognized or knew the name of even though I don’t listen to Radiohead. I hear soooo much influence on a lot of later bands - Coldplay, Vampire Weekend, Snow Patrol, even Two Door Cinema Club or Glass Animals. I added 4 songs from this record to my “2025” playlist - high praise. Easy 5, this was amazing!
Beautiful songs about a dystopia that seems frighteningly close. The album works as a concept, with the instrumentals and lyrics both sounding depressing and futuristic, familiar and yet alien. At the same time, there are several strong singles that can also stand alone. The densely layered sound paired with simple, but cryptic vocals produces an ultra-distinctive style that might not be for everyone, but in My opinion deserves the praise it receives.
Rating: 10/10 One of the greatest albums of all time. This album is absolutely gorgeous while having this alienating vibe to it. It predicted what society would be like today: interconnected but also desolate, and the music perfectly captures this.
I travelled round Europe with an old Walkman and two tapes. Fat of the land by the prodigy and ok computer. A fantastic album
I already listened to this like 10 times in the past, 10/10.
I love this album!
9/10
A true masterpiece, probably one of the greatest and most inventive soundscapes of the 90s. I've listened to this album a dozen times over the years and I'm always amazed by its depth and complexity. So many different layers of sound, so many influences are blended here - and yet there's a unique identity that you immediately recognize even after a few notes. I can understand why so many people would consider it depressing music. But I've listened to my share of depressing music over the years, and for me this ain't it... Sure, there's a couple of very dark songs. It's a soul-crushing album about alienation that shows very little hope. But it all gets sublimated into a higher sense of peace and beauty, and in the end it sends more of a bittersweet vibe. It's all very subjective, of course... Not necessarily my favorite Radiohead album, but absolutely worth a 5*. 9/10
1997, Road National 20, direction Orléans. In the radio tape player, OK Computer...playing loud... I got the tape casette recorded from Fredius... The car is now a spaceship and the journey becomes a meditative experience. This is one of my most vivid musical experience. Each note, each moment in this album is meaningful.
Certainly one of the most iconic albums of the 90s and one of the last true great rock albums. To me, it marks the true end of Britpop, it is a record that deliberately reaches for something more ambitious, darker, and more claustrophobic. There’s an introspective tension, the music and the voice pull you down, only to lift you back up just long enough to breathe. It’s brilliant, original, and inspired, full of subtle, intricate constructions, without a single weak moment. Still, I tend to prefer The Bends or Kid A. They feel more cohesive, more digestible as a whole. With OK Computer, I sometimes found myself waiting for the big surges to arrive. But when it does open up, when it gets emotional or dives into its rock impulses, it strikes deep, and often hits harder than either of them.
This is my third Radiohead album from the list. Two of the less 'important' ones previously: Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows. This is obviously a masterpiece and is haunting and beautiful and still packs of lot of relevant meaning considering it's nearly 30 years old. Electioneering is absolutely one of my favourite Radiohead tracks.
No comment. 4.7
This is an endlessly exciting album for me. Almost every track takes a surprising turn, is full of experimentation, and it still has a ton of pathos. Certainly has a nostalgia factor, too, but this seems like an undeniably brilliant album.
Without OK Computer, music might not have the hold on me that it does. By 1997, alternative rock was sputtering its last breaths. I was moving towards rap and electronic music (mostly trip hop) but I wasn't obsessed with it the way i had been those other bands in the early 90s. There were a handful of bands that still meant something to me, but nothing compared to hearing OK Computer for the first time, the tenth time, the hundredth time, the thousandth time. It both captured my heart in its entirety and completely transformed my taste in music. The Bends was a seminal album for me, and "Street Spirit" was the ground I'd most hoped they'd iterate on. The half-haunting, half-soaring melodies hit me exactly in the deepest pleasure spot music had ever hit (to that point.) I felt Thom's emotion as my emotion. Jonny's guitars swirled in my head and hypnotized me. "Street Spirit" took me somewhere new. OK Computer not only picked up where that left off, but expanded their production palette and skill for finding a simple melody and twisting it into majestic shapes. The atmosphere on songs like “Let Down” and “Climbing Up the Walls”, even on my lousy foam Sony headphones, transported me. I have never fully returned. This came out at the tail end of my junior year of high school. It is the soundtrack to my first girlfriend, my last high school musical (truly the times I was happiest in my first 18 years,) imagining a future outside of my hometown, my first cigarette, my first beer, moving to a new city for college and knowing very few people, my first nights alone, my first nights in a new community, forging something like a new identity, becoming who I am. It has soundtracked my life for 28+ years and *still* manages to surprise me, move me, and feel like a piece of heaven on earth. I am still today an unapologetic Radiohead obsessive because of OK Computer and everything that came after. That it can sound fresh and timeless all these years later is a miracle of craft. Currently #6 on my all-time list, and has been as high as #1.
I was about to give this one ⭐ only because I can’t buy the 2025 tickets 😭😭😭 Wtf, obviously best band ever to exist.
This is a great album. I'm not a massive Radiohead fan and there were bands around that time that I liked a lot better. But it's hard to deny their impact and how cool a listen this album is. From the very jump with the very different drumbeat in Airbag, it sets the stage for a bunch of really fascinating songs. My favorites on this included that track, Paranoid Android, Karma Police, Electioneering, and Lucky, all of which were excellent songs. It's not a perfect album to me, but it is super interesting, and it definitely was influential. For that reason, I am sitting squarely at 4.5 stars, but I am going to round up because this is my daughter's favorite band. Really a must listen for anyone.
A hella fun bummer of an album. I thought I listened to this album a lot in my early 20s but that was because I was listening to Radiodread by Easy Star Allstars (a reggae interpretation of Ok Computer). Hearing Let Down not be a reggae bop was a trip! But overall this is a stellar album with songs that still make me tear up. Great stuff!
4.5 rounding up to 4. great album, but it just wasnt exactly to my taste but rounding up
Didn't listen here but own it on vinyl. Classic.
It took me a couple of years after this came out to sit and appreciate it. Afterwards though, I was 100% hooked. This a true classic album for me. The type of songwriting and use of interesting textures was eye opening at the time. The beauty of Radiohead's sound only got more refined after this. The album gets into a regular rotation when that Radiohead vibe comes around. This was an easy start rating for me.
A classic that still sounds afresh all these years later 5*
Three Radiohead albums in under a month of this exercise but the first listen of a super big one, rly enjoyed it

Perfect.
Any list of mine is likely to have this one in the Top 5. Still sounds amazing almost 30 years later. The shift in Radiohead's style on this one was such a revelation. Put them in the mix with greatest of all time bands conversations. The musicality, the concept, lyrics, mixing. There isn't a weakness here.
OK, so I gave this album a little extra attention because of its notoriety. My questions: Is Radiohead overrated? Is this album overrated? Am I missing something? So after that extra attention, I’m rounding up to 5. Here’s why. It landed as a 4/5 right away because it was musically interesting and engaging. But I wasn’t sure what was the narrative, and was left a bit empty as a result. So with that extra time, I explored the themes and lyrics: societal alienation, the emotional toll of modern life, the toxicity of fear, approached from different angles. I found the lyrics more relevant now, dare I say, than they might have been in 1997. “No Surprises” could have been written from my living room TODAY. I’m not at 5/5 yet because I need more time to live with this album, but I’m heading there.
