Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes
TV On The RadioGreat album. These guys can make harmonies like nobody's business. I'm getting some Bobby McFerring vibes from this. Favorite song: Bomb Yourself or Ambulance. It's hard to decide.
Great album. These guys can make harmonies like nobody's business. I'm getting some Bobby McFerring vibes from this. Favorite song: Bomb Yourself or Ambulance. It's hard to decide.
Fun and wacky, nice as an upbeat background if you aren't as distracted by lyrics like I am. This guy clearly had fun in the studio.
The music is nice, but it's too sad and melancholy for me to enjoy.
It's easy to hear where a lot of later rock has come from. Favorite song: Michelle.
Wooshy 80s rock, what more can I say? So much reverb. Liked it okay. Favorite track: Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me.
Lovely funk. Another day and already another artist I hadn't heard of. It's clear these guy were having a ton of fun on stage. Favorite song: Egbe Mi O (Carry Me).
Classic rock. Pretty nice. Favorite song: Half Past France.
Definitely one of the classics. I hadn't heard this specific album of Iron Maiden, but it's very recognizable. Favorite song: Phantom of the Opera.
Earlier rock. These were clearly rebellious youths in their day. Favorite song: Whizz Kid.
Loved this album. Took a few songs before I recognized a very big hit they apparently released: The Weight. Favorite song: Chest Fever.
The kind of songs that make you wish you didn't know english. Her voice is amazing to listen to, and the music is interesting enough for pop music, but the lyrics are just not my thing at all. Favorite melody: Wildest Dreams.
Classic for me. It's probably the only few Pearl Jam songs I've heard. My friend was big into these during our teens, but I guess I moved on. Favorite song: Black.
One of my favorites until now. Chill folk guitar. Love it.
Funky, but definitely more chill than other funk I've heard.
Experimental and improvised sounding. Nice as background droning, but it doesn't really hit me.
Classic.
Probably special back in the day, but I didn't really care for this a whole lot. Favorite song though: Let's All Make A Bomb.
Quite like this one. It's just as classic as the other songs I've heard from them. Never listened other than on the radio and on parties. Favorite song I think: In Your House.
Not feeling this one. Holocaust was a decent song, but the others weren't really my thing at all.
Great album. These guys can make harmonies like nobody's business. I'm getting some Bobby McFerring vibes from this. Favorite song: Bomb Yourself or Ambulance. It's hard to decide.
Ethereal and soft. Reminds me of a calmer My Bloody Valentine. I loved it.
Comfy listening and a little wacky. Favorite song: Space Child.
Classic whimsical rock. Not too fetching, but okay to listen to.
Easy classic listening.
Lot of classics here. Lovely album. Favorite song: Broken Spoke Shuffle or Sinister Purpose.
Classic dance music. I like the beats, but I was never really type for one or two specific sampled vocal phrases repeated through most of the song. Favorite song: Everloving.
Reminds me of Beach Boys, only it's 50 years later and more modern. Interesting and fun, but not something I'd listen a lot to.
I remember this one. Hard to accept that it's already turning 20 years. It's a fun album.
Easy listening with a few very well known classics.
Upbeat listening. It's the kind of music I'd expect to hear at the pub.
First album I couldn't listen through. I got to the second song and turned it off. This wasn't available on Spotify, so I listened on youtube. Judging by the comments, the album sounded fine. Horrible.
Classic. This stuff is way older than I thought. I was 3 when this was released.
I liked this a lot. Calm and evocative, or something. I don't know all that many adjectives. This is apparently the third in a trilogy for the band, so I guess I should listen to the previous two as well.
Nothing can be said about this album that hasn't already. I love it, just like so many others.
Good music. Kravitz' singing can get a bit rough at times, but he's good.
Absolutely love this. It's like a mix between Miles Davis and Fela Kuti.
A decent album to my ears. I'm just not particularly into this brand of laid back rock. Their one really great hit was the one that stuck with me, so I'm in no way special there.
A good voice and good music.
Good instrumentation and she's a good singer, but it's not doing anything for me.
Pretty cool album. Took a few songs to get into, but then it was downright groovy.
Classic. My dad listened to this on the radio a lot, and I can listen to this all day. Reminds me a lot of earlier Sting work, which I've listened to a lot already.
Sounds like the time it's made for sure. It's a nice background noise for when you're doing something fun already.
I had trouble believing this album was as old as it is. Seems the lineup has changed a lot over the years, but they have been really prolific. I'll listen to this group more for sure.
A lovely voice to listen to, even though I don't understand most of the lyrics.
A nice listen, but it doesn't really hit me.
This is fun. Like a more chilled and serious version of the Weird Al I grew up with. It's clear these guys were enjoying themselves.
Modern classic, even though it's nearing.. wait, what? 20 years old?
Very comfy listen. Reminds me of a pub I used to hang at.
An interesting way to make songs. Just when you're getting into the song, it's over and they continue on yet another thing. An long string of short, inspired tunes. I kinda like it.
I quite like this one, too. I think I've heard the band before, but I can't really remember. Big and bombastic.
Sounds timeless to me. Prince's amazing voice carries everything he did, and I didn't even know he played so many instruments himself. Love it.
Gorillaz is a band I haven't listened to much, because it isn't quite my style. It's okay to my ears, the dissonances in some of the areas are kind of interesting. Suddenly Feel Good Inc. blew up and they were everywhere.
Interesting songwriting. I found myself actually listening instead of just putting it on in the background.
A nice enough album, probably a little wacky when it was released. Some of the grunting and yelling was really off putting, but other than that it's nice.
Now it's even more classic than before. Miles Davis I have definitely listened to less than I should have. Thanks!
A cool enough album, and it doesn't sound like anything else I've heard from the late 80s or early 90s. Nothing really stood out to me though.
The guitars were a bit too screamy for my taste, and some of the vocals a bit whiny for me. It's another one of those "Now I've listened to this as well" albums.
One of the best albums I've ever heard.
This was a very out there album. In 1973 I imagine this was what people thought going to the moon would sound like. Occasional glimpses of something that sounds like music.
This is a delightful album to listen to for me. I love two of the songs especially: Have a Cigar and Wish You Were Here. The crazy diamond parts in the beginning and end are nice cornerstones.
Deceptively simple pop, but I quite like it.
This just wasn't very special to me. It sounded droning and monotonous, and the guitar was usually out of tune to my ears. If I understood the language, maybe I'd have gotten more out of it, but this wasn't even enjoyable as background music.
Fun listening in the background, but nothing to really bite my teeth into.
Always a pleasure. I love improvising at home, but this is a whole other level. On a wholly different planet.
Enjoyable listen. The harmonies of their vocals are very nice to hear.
What is this? Upbeat folk rock? I liked it. Pretty different from other stuff I've usually heard from the 80s.
A few all time classics here, and the rest is good guitar play that fades into the background for me. No doubt that Jimi Hendrix was very influential though. Imagine what he could've done if he'd lived to become old.
I really wasn't feeling this one. I hope for this guy's sake that the sleazy player act was making fun of that kind of artist, otherwise yikes.
This was a weird experience. Clearly she is a good singer, and I like some of the music in the background, but I never felt comfortable listening to it. It leaves me feeling odd. I get the feeling there's more to dig into here, but I don't really want to.
Sounds like something generic and background-y I'd hear at the irish pub I go to regularly. It's okay, and nothing special to me. Makes me want to play pool again.
I quite like this one. Cool sampled 80s music without being repetitive noises. I've listened a lot to Brian Eno music, and I've definitely heard some Talking Heads music already. Good partnership.
Easy listening. Really like it. The guy is a really good guitar player.
Fun and wacky, nice as an upbeat background if you aren't as distracted by lyrics like I am. This guy clearly had fun in the studio.
I wasn't really feeling this one. I'm just not that into the sped up punk thing, I guess.
Nice melodies and twists in there I haven't heard before. I recognize the very well known Song 2 of course, but the others were easy listening too.
An chiller orchestral version of Arcade Fire is my description of these guys. I quite like it.
Any album with Clapton is probably a classic. I've only heard a couple. Except for the big one everyone's heard, the others seem nice. His twangy playing wakes some teen memories from slumber.
Some of the songs are well known, but the music is simplistic and I don't like the singing.
An okay background rock album. Not too screamy and actually pretty chill in spots. Another album for the pub night.
Actually pretty interesting. I've always had a soft spot for silly 80s synthesizers and sampled sounds. This is right up that alley.
The album cover is really cool, but the music wasn't hitting me at all.
Instead of something playing at the local pub, this would probably play where I usually get my fast food later in the evening, so it feels somewhat familiar. It was funny to suddenly hear Lennon's Imagine in the middle of unknown foreign music.
Nah.
Chill and funky. Me like-y.
Nice and easy blues rock something to listen to. It didn't stand out to me, but I feel like there's a lot of formative stuff in these albums that I just don't realize was at the forefront of music that came after it.
Kind of otherworldly and pretty interesting to listen to.
Fun and irreverent. I might have to suggest this guy at the local pub.
Another one of those where I suddenly hear a few songs I have definitely heard on the radio before. Quite like this one.
African blues? It certainly feels real, and I enjoyed this for a background listen.
Remember this playing way too many times in middle school. Now it's fun to listen to it again. Easy listening.
A few classics here too, though this I mostly remember from older teen days when I was trying to listen to something my friends didn't. I wanted to be one of the odd, cool kids. Man, times flies.
Big and full of showmanship, it's easy to hear how this was popular way back when. I often find myself measuring if an album makes me stop what I'm doing to listen. This one did.
U2 was one of my friends' favorite bands to listen to, so I admit I got a bit tired of them playing in his car all the time. But they are really good.
Now we're talking. This is so groovy I can hardly sit still.
Background music for me, but it becomes a bit more interesting back there because of the experimental sounds and vocals I hear.
Now this is some comfy and groovy stuff. Definitely adding this guy to my list of interesting artists I never would have discovered if it weren't for this project.
This was awful to listen to. I couldn't get through it.
Always loved Steely Dan. Still songs in here I haven't heard, because I think I listened more to a compilation album.
An enjoyable, easy listen.
Very controlled and well produced pop rock (?). Again I find myself often listening instead of it just being in the background.
Big synth pop. I like it.
Loved listening to this. Keep showing me albums like this and I'll groove to them for weeks.
It's that one song I've heard, and a bunch of other nice ones. Calming.
The one song I've heard before and a ton of others. It's comfy pop rock or something, and it's decent in my ears.
Bit screamy for my tastes.
Some of the more synth oriented songs were interesting, and most of the more folk-y tunes were charming. I liked it.
I had no idea Elvis Costello played music like this. I always pictured him like some Tom Jones clone. Still, it wasn't really my thing
Probably a cool album, but I could only hear four of the songs on Spotify. What I did hear was good though.
Some nice chords and tones in there, but I don't understand the lyrics at all. It could be comfy listening on some caribbean island bar with a nice drink.
Comfy listening. It must have been so freeing for people to listen to something like this after the 50s and 60s.
Really nice blend of some classical instruments and the more rock oriented sounds I'm used to from later music. I know this band is one of the prog forefathers, and it's good that I'm finally listening to them.
Whimsical yes, but not comfy listening.
A beautiful album. A soft, intense, beautiful voice and nice music that went well with it.
I'm sure this is well produced and she is definitely a good singer, but I'm not feeling it.
This is one of those songwriter names that several of my singing friends have spoken of in reverent tones. It's good listening.
A very haunting voice with its quiver. I enjoyed this.
Fairly whimsical for its time, I think. Nice to listen to in the background.
I'm guessing this is what set George Harrison apart from the other Beatles after they went their own separate ways. I found it very nice to listen to.
The music is nice, but it's too sad and melancholy for me to enjoy.
This is nice listening. I don't know if this was a compilation or they really made this in '79, but I liked it a lot.
A bit too weird even for background listening, in my opinion.
I enjoyed listening to this.
A Radiohead album I hadn't heard. I guess it was time for me to listen to this one as well. The list provides and I obey. I especially liked the first track.
Stewie Wonder will always get a thumbs up from me. I love this stuff.
Piano blues with string backing is new for me. It's nice to listen to, if a little melancholic for my taste.
I'm a sucker for good electric guitar and something rocky and funky.
I'm sure this is interesting to someone, but it doesn't strike me as anything other than background music.
Classic.
This is too noisy for me, and some riffs feel repetitive to the point of being annoying.
A lovely listen. At times comfortable and quiet, and nice melodies and instruments carry it for me.
Sorry. This isn't for me.
This is good. I really enjoyed this.
I like the experimental stuff they do. I actually hadn't listened to this album before. Only the newer ones.
A musical almost, told with interesting melodies and even some classical instruments.
Nice listening, thought I find his voice to be a little thin.
3 - Good stuff, but it doesn't hit me.
Powerful rock. I can dig that well enough.
She is an amazing singer, but this is way too sappy for me.
I really liked this. I was already weak when the piano came in and dominated.
Classic. An album with this few duds is incredible.
More pub rock. This is the exact kind of music my favorite bar would play.
I like many of the tunes, but the samples can get a bit repetitive.
She's a very talented singer, but this doesn't hit me.
I'm sure this was very interesting in the late 70s, but this sounds more like screaming to me than singing.
Comfy listening with a classic in there I had heard many times before.
This is a blast from the past for me. It was my first real introduction to party music. It's not something I just put on while sitting at home though.
Hard and tough. I'm sure this is impressive live on stage, but I'm not gonna listen to music like this at home.
An interesting experience for sure. It starts out weird, but slowly comes back down. The guy was probably bare still on earth while making this.
This is a classic. They do so much with music, and for the time it must have been crazy.
They made a long album and they can play, but I'm not at all feeling it.
There's just a bit too much guitar wank here to take it all the way to the top for me, but there is no doubt that it's very cool.
I like it. Good variation too.
This sounds great. The music is catchy and funky, with something tender in between.
Whimsical and laid back at the same time, but when I listened to the lyrics it was kinda silly. Still okay in the background.
The best album of all time, in my opinion.
I'm not feeling it. Simple music is fine, but the bored, monotonous singing doesn't add to it at all.
A good voice ruined by autotune. The instrumentation was really nice.
Sorry, this isn't my thing. Improvisation needs a bit more structure than this, in my opinion. I'm sure people at their concerts in the 60s and 70s really enjoyed their drugs though.
A classic, never mind that Roundabout has been a meme in modern times.
Comfy listening.
Interesting loops and musicality in there, and not just repeated loops of a short phrase to get tired of immediately.
This oozes the 90s, and I can appreciate the nostalgia. It's just too loop-y for me.
This is an amazing album. Already from the first tones it's easy to hear who's playing.
Something funky and energetic in the music, and this woman's singing is amazing.
I read that the guy spent months in a hospital and this is what he made after he came out. It still doesn't make me like it. The only impressive thing is that he apparently played all the instruments himself.
Cozy and upbeat.
The guy's a good singer, but I felt like this was just more of the same as the previous album I heard from him. And I suppose that's what some people want.
Just like I remember them.
A bit too noisy for my tastes.
It started out pretty weird, but then by the second half of the first song I was hearing more melodies and getting into it. I only got to hear half the album on Spotify, it seems, but I could definitely listen to more of this.
They call it alternative, and I can agree with that. It's sometimes catchy, and I am pretty sure my local pub plays this in their playlists.
Comfy listening. It's like she's singing with a very low falsetto. One classic song and a bunch of others I never really heard.
Kind of action filled listening. Not my type of music normally, but certain occasions may call for something like this.
This is pretty experimental stuff, but isn't that what Bowie was all about? I really like it. I had this idea in my head that Bowie had died in like 2008, so when I read this was from 2016 I thought it was a re-release. Glad to hear I was wrong.
I'm not feeling this, but I'm sure people felt electrified back in the 60s listening to this.
An enjoyable listen, with the one classic everyone has heard. It's the quintessential 90s song for me. The album is also lifted by the other songs being nice.
A classic that I had never listened to in full.
Can you call funky classic these days? It feels like that to me. Easy to listen to, though at least one of the songs could benefit from some more lyrics than just repeating pretty much one phrase over and over.
Relaxed pop with a broken voice. It's easy to listen to at least.
Something folksy and upbeat here. It's neat.
This is definitely cool to listen to, although live albums have only really stood out to me if I knew the band already.
Again it's one of those "I had no idea this was the guy who made that song" moments. Dylan never really struck a nerve with me, but it's undeniable how big he was and still is.
It's a lot of fun to listen to, but not very interesting, if that makes sense. James Brown's shouts and screams are fun, but the rabid fans' in the crowd are not.
This is the kind of classic that is easy to listen to, even though I haven't done much of it. Makes me wanna go to the beach and wear nothing but sunglasses.
Interesting and dramatic. Highly skilled, especially the vibraphone player. The music is a bit dramatic for my tastes, and the high to low slides of the fiddle are a bit distracting.
Compared to the previous album of Bowie I heard, this one was a little too experimental for me.
Is there something called dark pop? I feel like that should be a name.
It's comfy, but not relaxing. He has a nice voice and plays well, but I think I automatically expect acoustic music to be relaxing.
This music was probably a play at some point, or a musical that I haven't been much aware of. I wonder if this was very odd to fanatical Beatles fans at the time.
Many people heard something new and interesting here. Not me. It was groundbreaking at the time, I'm sure.
It's a nice voice, but I listened through the whole album in the background while I was doing something else, and I couldn't remember a single thing about it.
It's well made music, and they hadn't yet hit that disco craze that they are remembered for today, but I think I'm just not old enough to listen to this.
Classic. I had no idea it Hurt was a Nine Inch Nails song, but there you go.
Old, hard rock. It's decent to me.
It's comfortable listening, but I definitely like his later albums more.
Sorry, I couldn't even finish the album. The noise and harmonies can be nice, but it was just not hitting me at all. Their next album is one of my all time favorites.
What did they call it? Post punk? It's not really my thing, but it's at least possible to listen to in the background.
Bit ethereal for pub music, but I can see them playing it later at night when they want people to mellow out a bit.
I wanna call this fun rock. I like that there are more instruments joining in as well.
This guy has never been my thing, but at least in the early days his voice still sounded nice.
Heavy and pretty decent.
Really enjoyable background music.
Classic and comfortable. I like the singer's voice a lot.
This is a classic. I almost feels light hearted in its simplicity.
I've enjoyed previous Radiohead albums far more than this one.
There's something old timey here mixed in with modern sounds. I can dig it.
Guitar noodling and a very nice voice. I could listen to this in the right mood.
Love this band. It's cool that they had pretty much found their style and stuck with it already from the get go.
I remember friends putting this one and a few other similar ones on at parties when I was younger. It's nostalgic, and reminds me of way too many long nights partying.
Blues in the bottom, noodling on top. I like it.
Something very slick about this. Easy to listen to.
Just hard enough to be interesting, but I didn't hear any songs that really stood out to me.
I realize this is another one of those bands that were probably very influential in music history, but it's just not for me.
This woman's voice is amazing. I admit I don't care much for the lyrics, but she could sing anything and I think it would sound incredible.
A quavering voice that tries too hard, but I also somehow find it endearing. The music sounds older than it is, or maybe it's just me getting older.
Nice and comfy listening. This guy meant a lot to a whole bunch of people musically, even though it's not really my thing.
These guys have always been amazing at their harmonies, and the music is nice too. Lot of songs here I hadn't heard before, and I quite enjoyed it.
Interesting to listen to. It's funny to me to see that this was recorded in the beginning of the 90s. There's something timeless to it.
The man had an amazing voice, and the big band music behind it makes it even better.
Like the acoustic guitar and the rhythms. Feels good. Soft vocals add to the authenticity of it, in my opinion.
Nope. Sorry. If they played this at the pub, I'd finish my drink and leave.
I have to admit I'm coming around on older Bob Dylan music. It's almost festive in a simple way, and enjoyable to listen to. I especially liked the last song: Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands.
Interesting use of samples that doesn't get too repetitive.
Not the Eno I'm used to hearing, because I've mostly listened to the ambient music he also made. But this was a pleasant surprise.
Those vocals and the steady drum beat throughout, I really like it.
Calm and a little sad. It's nice to listen to, but not very uplifting.
Some good harmonies in the vocals here, and the music is nice.
Powerful energy on stage. They sounded like they were having fun. And I quite enjoyed listening to it in a certain mood.
Nice vocals and harmonies, with good guitar in the base.
Powerful and catchy. There were a couple of riffs I remember from when my friends used to listen a lot to this, but a lot of new stuff for me as well.
I kinda like this. Some catchy riffs in there too.
Classic. So many enjoyable songs here. Reminds me of one of the other chill bands I used to listen to, Keane.
Chill music with some good beats. And she has a good voice. The lyrics are hilarious, but I don't really listen to them anyway.
Cool beats, though the voice samples can get repetitive and repetitive and repetitive. It's always fun to hear a song you thought long lost.
Lot of good songs here, and good rhythms. Yet another one of those albums where I've heard one song before, and now discover a bunch of others.
Another one of those albums where I've grown up with one of the songs, and the rest are interesting and fun to hear. The upbeat jazz feel here is great.
En enjoyable if formulaic listen. I have warmer memories of U2 than I otherwise would have, because a friend of mine would listen to this album repeatedly while we were on vacation one year.
Timeless it may be, but drum and bass always was a little too hard for me.
Powerful and fun, just like I remember it.
There's something nostalgic about listening to 90s drum machines. Back when CDs cost more than what I made in a month.
An odd mix of western pop rock and indian folk, it seems like. It was certainly a new experience for me to hear Light My Fire played on sitar.
Calm and beautiful. A lot of nice chords in there.
Tainted Love is the classic that pulls the rest of them up. The rest really wasn't my cup of tea. The singing especially.
Good music as support, and good singing on top. A nice listen.
Interesting music. This stuff was probably way more interesting back in the day than it is today, though.
It's funny to listen to all this now after not having listened to it at all when I was younger, except when it played on the radio. A lot of good rhythms and arrangements, and his voice is very good, even if I don't really enjoy the lyrics
I don't know what to call this, except for special music. A lot of different things merging into something that I can listen to, and it's good.
Hendrix is classic rock guitar, and an almost whimsical vocal style that was pretty cool to listen to. He died too young.
Perky 80s funk rock or something like that. It's good. And fun to listen to.
I'm bad at listening to lyrics, but the music is good and the guys seem really into it.
A good voice and good music, though I don't listen to country much at all.
Absolutely amazing. This quavering, intense voice combined with the experimental song compositions has me stopping me what I'm doing to listen. I have heard some of her songs 20 years ago, but it's clear with how prolific she's been I have a lot of catching up to do.
The kind of electronic music I could listen to for a long time. Not just loops and drum boxes, but actual playing as well. Amazing.
Noisy and a bit ethereal, and okay to listen to for me.
Interesting music. Odd rhythms and good melodies. Vocals are nice, too.
Another Air album I'm really liking. Some of the songs are pretty out there for a movie, but the others are intimate and special.
I remember a few friends of mine played stuff like this for us at parties when I was younger, and it's like I'm back there again. This is a lot of fun to listen to.
Blues and bluegrass, sounds like. Enjoyable in the background.
Good production and she has a beautiful voice that doesn't sound autotuned, which is a very good thing these days. I just can't get into the lyrics at all though.
Funny to think that this album has become almost classical in many younger people's minds these days. I listened to it a lot back then, and I still enjoy it today.
Light and crazy vocals, and the music is all right. I'm sure I've heard this at my local pub.
Rocky and kind of frenetic, but yet another artist whose songs I've probably heard at the local pub.
An enjoyable listen and yet another artist I've never heard of before today. I'm probably not doing it justice by listening to it in the background and not taking in the lyrics.
Big music that I can really enjoy listening to.
Amazing music to listen to. I remember a friend of mine showed these to me, and it was a whole experience.
Ah, the 80s. These riffs are as powerful as the hairdos on the cover.
This feels almost prototypical. This guy must have been having a lot of fun experimenting with those synths. It's also a lot of fun to listen to.
Intense, raspy vocals and music. I remember thinking this sounded much like Nirvana that I remember from way back, and I didn't notice until later that it was Courtney Love singing.
Many classics here, and the band music is cool, though I admit I'm much more used to hearing David Lee Roth singing Just a Gigolo.
I'll bet this was a crazy experience back in '67, and it's a lot of fun to listen to today as well.
A very enjoyable background listen for me. I can't actually hear if this is a live album or a studio one, which makes it more haunting.
Very comfy listening. Nice and laid back with a good voice.
Okay listening. It's a nice mix of instruments, including some piano in there that I don't usually pick up.
Comfy music, not too daring. Apparently this guy was something of a chameleon, but I at least recognized this album as fairly normal. Maybe the more eclectic stuff wasn't as popular.
This is another classic for those times when I'm in the right mood. Still a few I hadn't heard before, but it's very easy to get through.
I remember at least one of these songs from Guitar Hero back in the day. The rest are a fun listen in the background.
Funky goodness from way back. Easy to keep listening to.
Really enjoyable to listen to. I found myself restarting later in the evening after having listened to it once.
Listened to this album and really enjoyed it. Ended up listening to several other albums of his as well, mostly the earliest stuff. He is a very talented musician. Genesis for me has always been mostly a Phil Collins thing, but it's easy to see where they came from.
I did not have french metal on my bingo card for this series, but there it is. And quite experimental, too, from the sound of it.
I think I should be more present than I am for an album such as this, as it's more of a play than music really. I have heard some funny Zappa stuff later, but this wasn't it.
Interesting voices in the samples, very different culturally from what I'm used to. It also stops them from seeming too repetitive, since I don't actually understand any of the words.
A nice voice and a fun 80s soundtrack makes this album easy listening.
Controlled and noise-like, I wanna say. That's just what I'm left with here. And it's not as bad as I feared from the first few tracks.
Didn't find the album on Spotify, but I did get to listen to it after some searching. Nothing really stood out to me, but it was an okay listen.
Powerful and irreverent. That's how I would describe this. There's a lot of action and energy in here, and it's undoubtedly a lot of fun to listen to. Even though my mom would just about throw a fit if she knew what the cover looks like.
Groovy listening with so much brass almost overtaking the organ. My favorite song has to be God Bless The Child.
A bit lovey dovey for my tastes, but the raw music and funky rhythms make it far more interesting than just an album of love songs.
Very nice listen.
She has a nice voice, and the beats are chill. There is an almost industrial quality to it that makes it more interesting.
Much ado about synthesizers, and some samples in the songs that had me almost looking around to see if there were people very close all of a sudden. Interesting, if nothing else.
This album was probably pretty out there in the decade it was released. It's an okay listen, but nothing that stands out to me, and I think they were all new to me.
I feel like this is so old that it's comfy listening even though it was probably pretty intense for the time.
There's something retro about this. I feel like this is something I could hear in a Tarantino movie. And it's nice.
A classic. To many of my friends this was the best of the best. To me it's okay, but grating.
Laid back and irreverent, this is kind of fun.
Heavy and intense. I really liked listening to this.
Honestly one of those albums I didn't listen all the way through. This noise just isn't the right type for me.
Powerful. This played a lot in my friends' cars when we were younger.
Fun, old times. Is what I imagine at least.
A bit too noisy and upbeat for my electronic tastes, but something to listen to in the background just fine. Reminds me of my first school party.
Some of the songs are undeniably catchy, but I can't listen to this more than I absolutely have to. It reminds me too much of my early teen years.
Queen of rock, they say. I certainly like it.
Old times, psychedelics and music instruments.
Big and intense, and also tender in a way. It's interesting for a while, but can't quite catch me since I don't speak more than a few words of french.
Quick and light hearted. The album felt much shorter than it actually is.
Comfortable and upbeat at the same time. Favorite song of the album is Love Goes On! for its interesting chord progression.
Raw and pretty heavy. Don't listen for the voice, though. I feel like the instruments drown out the singing in the mix.
Lovely voice and nice melodies.
Comfy listening, but most of the songs are so short I don't really have time to enjoy them before it's over.
Comfy music, reminds me of Radiohead.
4 - Very fun to listen to. Many times I found myself finger drumming to the rhythms.
Fun and old-timey, for me anyway.
Janky and gnarly, it's easily identifiable. This was one of my favorite albums when I first moved out from home and got to hear different music.
It's fun to listen to piano rock like this, and the chords are nice. But every song sounds much the same as the last to me.
Beautiful voice and cool rhythms, especially the bass. But the lyrics are a bit too sappy for me.
Nice to listen to, and the guy can certainly sing.
Funny, old time listening. Over almost as soon as it started.
One of the songs he sounded so much like Willie Nelson, but the rest of the songs were stronger, and pretty nice.
Something here that reminds me of one of my favorite bands, so it's not hard to hear some of the inspiration they had. Also a lot of fun.
More varied than I thought. The guy can really sing his heart out.
Can music be brooding and almost whimsical at the same time? And I haven't even listened to the lyrics. I'm sure they say something, too.
It's easy to hear who these guys are on their light voice and electronic beats. None of them really stood out to me on this disc, but nice to listen to nonetheless to keep the eyes open.
Probably fun to listen to if you really listen, but I was too distracted for it to be a background thing.
A powerful voice with good music behind it.
The music is cool, but I can't endure the almost shouted vocals.
Comfy rock, there isn't really more to it.
Experimental and ethereal as always. I love it.
It's fun to imagine young people listening to this back in the day, and their parents shaking their heads in disbelief.
Sorry, not my cup of tea.
Smooth beats and a calming way of getting the message across. I like it.
I didn't feel much listening to this. Just a little bit too nosy to stay in the background.
Fantastic album. These guys were experimenting with quite a bit in their time, and they were much of the inspiration for my all time favorite band who came after them.
