Everything sounded like a remix of Cars. By the time Cars came on, I was tired of it. I’m sure it was revolutionary at the time, but electronic music has come so so far since then.

First time hearing this album. Very unique and hard to categorize. Kind of have to be in the mood to listen to it, but then it really works. Definitely better as an end-to-end album that something you'd shuffle into your playlist. Don't really need a song detailing the life and times of John Wayne Gacy popping up just any random time.

First (first time listening to whole album). 2x (listened twice through). Changes is an all-time favorite single, but the rest of the album didn't appeal to me all that much.
Probably listened through about 5 times before. 2x this time. Good album, but not great. Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars, but I'm leaning toward 2.
Listened many times before. 2x. Great album.
Heard all the hits before, but first time listening to the full album. 2x.
First time all the way through. 2x.
First time through. 1.5x.
First time. 1.5x.
Many times. 0.5x.
First time listening. 1x.
First time hearing. 1.5x.
Some great moments, but not quite a 3.
One of my favorites back when it was released. Still like it!
First time listening through. Ended up listening several times and it went from a 2 to a 3, but no higher.
Great album! I never heard it before. I've heard Wonderwall of course, but it didn't do much for me and I never gave the rest of the album a chance. The rest of the album is really solid.
Everything sounded like a remix of Cars. By the time Cars came on, I was tired of it. I’m sure it was revolutionary at the time, but electronic music has come so so far since then.
Fun songs from another era. Not really something I'd listen to today, but I enjoyed the short trip back in time. Rip It Up was a nice lost gem I don't think I'd heard before.
Meh.

Great collection of songs. I'd only heard some of them before, but the whole album is solid.
It's fine. Enjoyable enough. But I'm not sure why it's considered a Must Hear album.
Intrigued by the glowing reviews. I had high hopes. Seriously?
Some good stuff on here, but the more extreme advant-garde experimental stuff got a little to far out for me and brought the over all rating down.
Classic that still holds up well.
I appreciate Cyndi Lauper, but just not that into the album over all.
Yeah!
Outside my usual wheelhouse but I enjoyed it. A strong 3. “I’m back like a chiroprac’”
I never owned this one and probably haven't listened all the way through very many times, but it's so good!
Music for ADHD?
Never was a big fan of Cult of Personality and the rest of the album wasn't really better.
Pretty good.
Strong 3. Love the big singles from this album.
Only heard Cisco Kid before but enjoyed the rest of the album too. I'm surprised/impressed it was Billboard's top album of the year! Seems like it wouldn't have broad enough appeal for that, but it's cool that it sold so well.
Never really checked out Primal Scream because I assumed it would be full of, you know, primal screaming and caterwauling and such (cough... PJ Harvey... cough). Wasn't what I expected and generally enjoyed it.
Enjoyed this one a lot. Never heard this album before, but I used to have his follow-up (Small Change) on vinyl back in the day. I think Nighthawks is better.
American I through IV are all great. Very impressive that Johnny recorded these near the end of his life. Really liked I Hung My Head and went back and listened to the Sting version. The Cash version is SO much better. Great lyrics by Sting though.
Some days I think this album deserves 4 stars, but other times I think 2.
I thought this one would be better. The songs and arrangements just seemed mediocre to me. Pennies From Heaven and I’ve Got You Under My Skin were stronger, but not enough to give this higher than a 2.
Probably would have given this a 4 back in the day, but it hasn’t held up so well. Still love the older ZZ Top catalog though!
Interesting, but kind of uneven and sounding pretty dated. I like Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive which still get played fairly regularly. Mathilda Mother was a good one I've ever heard before.
I haven't listened to much Amy Winehouse but I really liked this one.
Not bad, but didn’t really connect with me.
Very easy-listening and quickly fades into background music for me.
Whew, that's a lot of love songs! It's a lot and all over the place but none of the tracks are really bad. I didn't catch anything really great either. Maybe something would grow on me on the 2nd or 3rd listen, but I'm not really going to invest the time to find out now. A ten-song edit of this collection would be nice to have.
Never listened to this before. I liked the second half better than the first.
Not in the mood for this all that often, but when I am, it scratches the itch.
Heard of Fiona Apple but never listened to this album before. I thought the first half was stronger than the second.
Not one of my favorite Neil Young albums. Kind of an interesting choice to include in the list.
Never listened before. Better than I thought it would be.
Had this on vinyl years ago. Some tracks were better than I remembered (like Desolation Row) but others seemed to drag a bit.
It’s nota bad album, but gonna have to go with a 2 for me personally mainly because of the genre and not really hearing anything that would raise it above similar albums.
Never listed to this (or any Bjork album) before. It sounds like there's a lot of depth here but it's hard to get into with on the first listen. Bjork's vocal style isn't really for me either, which makes it challenging.
Ketchy Ketchy Shuby Shuby Tonight
Heard the hits so many times over the years but never really checked out the whole album. The album is a real time capsule back to 60s San Francisco and is a great look back, but not something I would listen to often.
Didn’t make it through all 4 discs here, but now I know where to go if I want to do a deep dive into Ella/Gershwin tunes.
Was hoping to find some lost gems or nostalgic treats, but it mostly sounded dated and a bit boring.
First half is 5 stars, but then it kind of falls off.
Never heard the whole album before. Title track is great and Keep Gettin' It On was a nice surprise for me.
Surprised I've never heard of this band before. Surprised it's critically acclaimed. Didn't really stand out to me.
Want Two? Got Two.
One of my all time favorite albums.
I particularly enjoyed the arrangements for the tunes I knew from Hank Williams and the Everly Brothers and such. Probably would enjoy it even more if I knew more of the original recordings.
Cool but not really my thing.
First listen. More variety and wider range than I expected.
Played this a ton when it first came out. Still holds up IMHO.
Thought this was a pretty clever line: Cause meanwhile up in heaven they are waiting at the gate Saying, "We always knew you'd make it, didn't think you'd come this late"
Motörhead and Lemmy always struck me as the real deal.
This one was a little disappointing. America is a really great song but the rest of side 1 didn’t grab me. Mrs. Robinson is also great, but wasn’t really composed for this album.
Next.
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is just brilliant. Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
I could have rated it higher if I was feeling generous, but come on, it’s Kid Rock.
Can't believe this was 1977. Way ahead of its time!
