Huggulegt rokk

Hörkuplata með tveimur bangerum. Geggjað sánd sem CCR eiga.

i enjoy me some CCR

A solid album throughout. I think with the last CCR album I said something similar, so close to a 5 but for the moment it is a high 4. Maybe I revisit and change it in the future.

Sure sounds like CCR

Very good, almost five star worthy, but the last track was a little bit jarring. Four strong stars.

Before listening to this album, I wasn't very familiar with Creedence Clearwater Revival. Of course, I've heard their most famous hits--Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, Born on the Bayou--but little else. Green River was a solid introduction, I think. Sounded more bluesy than I expected. I like John Fogerty's voice, but learning that he's from San Francisco flabbergasted me. Is he affecting that folksy accent, or does he really sound like that? Either way, wild. Highlights for me were Bad Moon Rising (of course), Lodi, Sinister Purpose, and the titular Green River. This is pretty much the only album I've listened to in the genre of "Swamp Rock," so I'd be curious to see how it compares to other icons in the genre.

There’s just something so familiar and reassuring about listening to CCR. I think I could enjoy them on any day. This isn’t their best LO but one you shouldn’t miss. Best: Lodi, Sinister Purpose, Bad Moon Rising. Worst: The Night Time is the Right Time has never been a song I enjoy. There’s a bathroom on the right.

Solid CCR album. The 3 hits - Green River, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi - definitely stick out as more memorable than the rest of the album, but the other tracks are solid.

A few CCR songs already have a home in my heard so it is as a genuine compliment that i say this record sounds like it was recorded on a hay bale. While you're taking in the sound and picturing the classic red American barn they hit you with a masterful wailing one note (no, literally) guitar solo that absolutely knocks off your socks. `Wrote A Song For Everyone` is the first emotionally vulnerable break and its where I really start listening i think. Giveing that glimmer of what I love about Fogerty the most, which I think is the melancholy happy sad thing. `Lodi` also absolutely does it for me. I wanna listen to Cross-Tie walker riding rail cars like Jack Kerouac, full hitch hiking beat generation mode, and Sinister Purpose is so sexy it belongs in a vampire movie. Loved listening to it, come away with a few song I'll remember, but a good few that if I span it again I might feel like I was hearing them for the first time.

I find myself coming back to this a lot! This is my first time really interacting with this genre of music and i’m glad it was such a good project as this one.

Great album! If I had a complaint it’s that it’s too short at 29 mins. Highlights: Green River, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi, Commotion and Sinister Purpose. 4.75

Makes me wanna go to ‘nam in a good way.

Already familiar with some of these songs. Pretty nice but tad dated

Excellent vibes

CCR woohooo

Wrote a song for everyooone… when I couldn’t even talk to you

a classic, simple yet charming. love this album

Recently I've been reflecting on CCR as a band of singles. If they had an album or two with the mythological sounds of the Bayou, and moved on to something else, then they might be a great band. As it is, all of their songs take place in this fictional world of sound. I'm not complaining. They make great music. But each song is a snapshot, and the albums are all the same sound/world. I'm happy to hear the album especially to catch the songs I didn't hear on the radio. 4/5

What a great album. 29 minutes of incredible Southern Rock. Bluesy rock and roll for the win.

Raw energy, enjoyable re-listen.

CCR rocks.

Another banger from the boys, it rips

Hell yeah.

Lieblingsband meines Papas.

Tough because I know there’s better. Bad moon rising great but

Listened Before? Partially! I knew Bad Mood Rising and Green River Pros: EXCELLENT album from CCR. They're legends. Cons: None! I really enjoyed this Songs Added to Playlist: Green River, Commotion, Bad Moon Rising

I really fucked with it. Surprisingly. Don't disappoint me.

Sape.

Californians play the blues

1. Green River - 11 Absolutely phenomenal track. Instrumentally the bass is the star here the way it dips lower at times. It's the perfect compliment to the short bursts of a dirty guitar and awesome drum beat. Vocals sound excellent and lyrics are incredibly fun. Stunning piece of music. 2. Commotion - 9 Instrumentally a lot of fun and lyrically such a great pace and tone. It's just like Green River in the sense of what makes the track so enjoyable. 3. Tombstone Shadow - 7 Solid rock song. I really love the guitar intro but the lyrics are the star of the show on this track. 4. Wrote A Song For Everyone - 8 Lovely pace and guitar play mixed with some soothing verses and a very enjoyable chorus. Solid track. 5. Bad Moon Rising - 10 An all time classic. Amazing lyrics and a great overall sound. Just perfect. 6. Lodi - 7 Solid song. Really good overall but not at captivating as the other tracks on the album. Still a very good track. 7. Cross- Tie Walker - 7 Pretty much the same feeling I got with Lodi and the same critique as well. 8. Sinister Purpose - 6 Lyrically it's jut not that great but instrumentally it's brilliant. Definitely the weakest track on the album so far. 9. The Night Time Is The Right Time - 7 Good but almost like a mid-to-late 50s rock track. Still enjoyable and short enough it doesn't really disappoint you. Average Rating: 8.00 Adjusted to 5-Point Scale: 4.00 No Rounding: 4 Stars

My first album on this app did not miss! I listened CCR growing up because of my parents, so it was an immediate blast to the past. Love this album.

Good ole CCR. Nice short album sprinkled with a few hits and good songs. It is interesting though when you get to a big hit like Green River it just seems so tight and well done next to these other songs Overall good and fun album, and I don't expect anything less

Overall rating by me: 6/10 Songs added to the playlist: ,,Green River”, ,,Sinister Purpose” Notes: The vibe is very country and very lively - typical for the timeframe it was created in. Good music for a roadtrip in the nature.

Unreal album. So many bangers it's hard to count. 8.7/10

these guys were rippin

I enjoyed this album throughout. Great rhythm section and guitar work.

Really good. I think I’ll enjoy anything from Creedence. This one is a little slight compared to Cosmo’s Factory, which knocked my head off, but it’s still great.

John Fogerty at his peak. Timeless rock & roll piece of art

Love it!

I did not expect to like it as much as I did after i heard the first song. This album was actually really fun to listen to

Obviously I knew Bad Moon Rising already but really enjoyed the rest of the album too. Other songs like Lodi and Sinister Purpose stuck to a similar formula but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

CCR have been a Greatest Hits band for me. Happy to get exposed to this album. Will revisit and probably add to the record collection!

Really loved this, idk why but creedence clearwater revival really only existed in my mind as the punchline to a joke i only kind of understood but turns out! They’ve done great stuff!! Excited to listen to more of this album and creedence and his clearwaters generally.

What do you want me to say? CCR forever and this isn’t even their best album. “Tombstone Shadow” is the winner for me this time around, because it made me feel like I was alive again and not just a sad sack of bones ravaged by gastro. Thank you John Fogerty 🙏

This is arguably one of the worst of Creedence’s albums and yet it’s still phenomenal. And I say arguably because the degrees of separation between Creedence albums is so low that it’s conceivable for anyone to love any of them more than this. The fact that they released 5 all time great albums within a 2 year period is a sign of something; either they’re inauthentically churning out songs to match the swamp rock vibe they’re emulating, or John Fogherty is a genius. I choose to believe the latter.

fkn Creedence. Hell yeah. Ask The Dude. 3.5 stars, round up for the absurdity of JF being sued for plagiarizing himself

January 18 I looove ccr

So good

Only complaint is that it's too short!

Bad moon rising is a good song.

Legendary album! Will have fun this with one. out of 9 tracks I am well familiar with 3 of them but overall a great vibe, possibly 4 stars.

This one belongs on the list. Arguably the Greatest American band ever

Nice !

CCR is overall a pretty solid pick, it was fun to deep-dive one of their earlier albums. Would be something I would relisten to as a whole album, though not often.

⭐⭐⭐

Gotta love the crunchy guitars. Great album to listen to when trying to gather energy for work.

Listening to it, apart from the usual standouts (like Green River and Bad Moon Rising) I really appreciated Commotion and Lodi. Don't know if I ever heard those songs before. But this record is start to finish a banger.

A wonderful album, still holds up to this day. Some of the best rebellious American music ever written. 8/10

Very country vibes, liked it! Especially if its on a late after moon trip, 7,4/10

Looooved it. Meget sommer hygge

I like CCR but this isn't my absolute favorite of theirs

Before: Yay, CCR!I do like these guys' music. This should be an enjoyable listen. I might even listen to the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it's going to get a 4. After: I did enjoy almost the entire album but found the last 2 tracks a little tiresome. I would rate the piece as a whole, 4 stars.

8/10. A classic CCR album & one that I’ve heard before and believe to be my favorite album by them but I’ve yet to hear cosmos factory which most say is their best but I know that album is on here too so I’ll get to it eventually. Just overall a solid southern rock album foundation (even though they aren’t from the south at all🤦‍♂️)

Great album from one of my favorite classic oldies rock bands.

8/10 Creedence are a band that I know bits and pieces of, but not one that I have fully engaged with, despite enjoying what I've heard, so this was fun. The album manages to provide a really high-quality blend of vibe and momentum. I found myself bouncing, bobbing my head or tapping my toe the whole way through, but the general swagger and delivery, particularly of the lead vocal from John Fogerty, is so laid back that it’s almost horizontal. Managing to thread that line of maintaining momentum while presenting such a relaxed level of cool is a challenging thing, but they pull it off with aplomb. And that feeling is really representative of the album as a whole. It’s all about the vibe. They are clearly a tight unit, with all of them playing superbly in pocket while maintaining that almost dragging swagger, but they rarely throw more than the odd moment of flair at things, performing with a restraint that allows the little flourishes to have more impact than they would have with a more showy performance. The song writing is solid, though rarely spectacular, but it doesn’t really need to be anything more than it is because its the spirit of the performances that provide the quality here, and the fact that barely any of the tracks clock in at more than three minutes or so means that they don’t need to overwork the ideas for them to be effective. While it’s not a mind-blowingly brilliant album, I found it so engaging that I was wavering between a 8 and a 9 on this one, and I suspect that further relistens may push this higher, but I feel like it was a tiny bit uneven in places and the last couple of tracks maybe didn't gel with the rest of the album, despite their standalone quality. Either way, this was a lovely little listen. Green River - A solid riff to kick us off. There’s a really satisfying swagger and lilt to this. The guitar work is just the right amount of laid-back cool, and the vocal matches that aesthetic perfectly. There’s quite a lot of movement built up by the different parts, particularly during the short instrumental sections. It's not the most widely varied song, but it’s also only two and a half minutes long, so who cares. The vibe is great. Commotion - There’s a bit more urgency to this with the persistence of the beat in particular, but it’s still got a nice bit of bounce to it. The instrumental breakdowns here are great and while the track itself hasn’t really hooked me in the same way as the opener, it’s still a decent effort. Tombstone Shadow - And they’ve dropped that pace down again. That swagger is back and it’s got a solid groove to go along with that bluesy base. The vocal call and response with the guitar is simple but effective, and his very occasional pop up into falsetto is great. Again, the vibe of this is just superb and the playing, while fairly understated, is so smooth and engaging. Wrote A Song For Everyone - Now they’ve taken things even more laid back. Despite that it’s still got a good bit of impetus and feel behind it. John Fogerty's vocal is great here, as he pushes a little bit of grit into it here and there that adds a nice emotional edge to the delivery. There are some really pleasing piece of instrumental work in this one too. It would be easy to make a song like this boring, but I found it full of enough movement and variety that it was really engaging. Bad Moon Rising - This is the biggest hitter that I’m aware of from the album. It’s got great pace and momentum to it, it’s written around a great hook and it moves so smoothly through its transitions. It all just feels so effortless. It’s a proper toe-tapper and has more of that vibey swagger about it. Lovely stuff. Lodi - There’s quite an insistent drive to the instrumental parts here, but it's offset really nicely by the lead, both the vocal and then the guitar when it takes over. It’s just a really nice balance between driven and relaxed. There’s nothing spectacular about the song writing here, but the feel of it is so infectious and engaging. Cross-Tie Walker - This continues that up-beat drive from the last track, but throws a bit more of a bluesy lilt to things. It’s not quite as engaging as the last track, but it’s still got a solid toe-tapping swagger to it. The band are really tight and the little bits of instrumental flair that they chuck in now and again are great seasoning. Sinister Purpose - This is a nice switch up from the last couple of tracks. It’s got a cool funky edge to it. Oddly, it feels a little thin sound-wise compared to the other tracks, which is a bit of a shame. I think perhaps there’s too much staccato work going on across the instruments and nothing working to give it a thicker padded base. That being said, it’s still a cool little number and it may be that it just doesn’t feel as warm as the rest of the album. The Night Time Is The Right Time - The blues is in full swing now. It continues on nicely from the last track, but there’s a bit more thickness to the sound. From a musical point of view, it's not vastly interesting, but it’s really well executed. The vibe pushes into being more intense, which adds an extra flavour to the record, but isn’t quite as comfortingly engaging to me as the more laid-back vibey stuff.

Very easy listen, first track is a vibe

Singing along to what I knew. Great time.

CCR is kind of a greatest hits band for me. Their most popular songs are all great, but none of their albums are really essential, IMO. Here we have 3 or 4 great songs and the rest is somewhat unremarkable.

Iconic American CCR sound. Beautiful blend with the blues. Great album and a legacy piece of Americana.

I guess it's sort of a no-brainer. But let's face it... If you've heard one CCR album, you've heard 'em all. Knock a half-star off for all the assholes who claim to love Credence and hate The Eagles just because one movie made them think it was cool. Mr. Henley's attorneys would like to have a word with you.

This album sounded like a roadtrip. I especially liked the track “Commotion,” and while I don’t see this as a top album for me, I enjoyed listening!

Pretty solid

like it

Good, solid CCR music.

My notes on this got replaced by my notes on my previous album somehow, so I lost all my specific notes, but I liked this one and it made me appreciate a genre I don’t usually listen to. Favorites were Commotion, Bad Moon Rising, and Sinister Purpose.

Just good music.

Fantastic stuff. Outside of the known hits (Green River, Bad Moon Rising) I really enjoyed. Commotion and Wrote a Song for Everyone.

Classic dad rock

CCR rocks

Good rock.

Hell yeah

Lots of good sounds!

Pretty interesting overall- relatively simple but still solid creedance

A-ok vibes. Nice background music for chillin.

Great!

Most songs except the last track are good. But I feel like theres no true greats that elevate it above the other CCR albums.

Superbly dark and somehow also fairly laid-back feeling. John Fogarty isn't a genius but he is a very capable songwriter and this is some foundational material for the roots and folk rockers that followed. Worth your time. 4/5

I do really really love me some CCR. This isn’t quite at the level of Cosmo’s Factory or the down on the corner one, but lots of great stuff here.

Another solid entry from CCR. They certainly knew their bread and butter and knew how to build an album around it. Green River, Lodi, and Commotion are all familiar ones and even those that were knew were enjoyable. Wasn't paying attention to song names so no more notes. Just a solid album. 4/5

Hard to give this anything other than a 4. Iconic voice and style exemplified in 30 minutes. No fluff, just good music.

Green River is such a jam to start an album. Completely forgot about that song but it is pretty prototypical CCR. Rest of the album was just great bluesy bayou songs that flew by in less than 30 minutes

CCR is always welcome

Some good ones on here and nice and short

Easy listening, nostalgia on blast.

Creedence Clearwater Revival have such a distinctive sound I love it, my favourite off this album has to be 'The Night Time is the Right Time'.

Very cohesive sound, classic, reminds me of my dad

Never listened to it before - apart from Bad Moon Rising, but every song is like a comfy pair of jeans. They slip on, the melody and blues grabs you and then it’s done.

These swampy blues bring back great memories of my teenage years driving home to bad moon rising. It may have been a manufactured sound, like the surfing beach boys, but they did it very well. A solid 4 for me.

Short, good stuff all the way through from CCR.

Absolutely love Creedence but can never decide which of their first five records is the best because they all feel like great albums without quite being superb. That said, the triple whammy of Wrote A Song For Everyone, Bad Moon Rising and Lodi at the centre point of this is next level.

CCR is always good

Excellent album, they had a sound and great song writing ability a solid album.

Often misheard lyric from this album:  "There's a bathroom on the right!" Liked Songs Added: Green River Bad Moon Rising Lodi

I hate that I love this band.

Gives me a 70s summer road trip vibe

Didn’t listen to the expanded version because I didn’t realize it existed until now, but I thought the basic version was good! Loved the interlude in Wrote a Song for Everyone. I wasn’t expecting to recognize anything from the album but then Bad Moon Rising came on and surprised me.

I can almost hear the helicopters.

I blame my US history classes in HS for making me a CCR fan. But yeah, what an impactful, unique, and long-lasting sound.

29 minutes is about all I needed from this album, and the fact that it's exactly what they gave me is remarkable. I am a little surprised that there wasn't a sprawling 10min jam song, but high marks anyway - 4/5

CCR will always be a delightful, and I think a rather beautiful, listen. But I also just have a hard time separating out how much of my appreciation for them is pure nostalgia versus a recognition of their quality.

4 stars. Great album, lots of fun. Some of CCR’s best are on this album. 1/5 didn’t finish the album 2/5 didn’t keep the album 3/5 kept it and will listen when songs randomly show up on shuffle 4/5 kept it and will listen to it again on my phone 5/5 buying the vinyl

I don't think Creedence has a perfect album - Willy and the Poor Boys comes closest in my book - but they have loads of perfect songs. On this particular record, you've got the stellar title track, "Bad Moon Rising", "Commotion", "Sinister Purpose", and my personal favorite, "Lodi". Fantastic at best, really fucking good at worst. 4/5

This is also a vibe.

Now this is some fucking rock & roll! It’s like they couldn’t miss on this album, this sounds timeless like it’ll still ring off in 2069 because you can’t beat this sound. Nothing but good things to say about this album

Good music. 4/5

Deilig gammal creedence!

There’s a bathroom on the right

Not at all a country fan but love this! It’s so focused, great compositions. Swampy sound, you feel the murkyness on the guitar. It’s never overdone or meme-y.

God old country/ rock is a million times better than the modern stuff. Remember when rural areas produced culture?

Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of my all-time favorite bands from the late '60s/early '70s era. John Fogerty’s voice and guitar work are instantly recognizable, raw, soulful, and completely unmistakable. Every time I spin one of their albums, it still sounds incredible. Absolute classics!

I have a collection of their songs, so I'm familiar with their style more than this specific album. Known songs going in: 3 Rating: 4.5/5 Favourite song(s): Lodi

Would love to hear this live in a smokey bar!

Love it. My mom had the greatest hits CD in her car and we'd listen to it often. First time listening to a full album of theirs and some of the biggest hits are on this one. Good early-southern rock!

Besides the songs I already knew I wasn't too impressed. However, that's like half the album, so it's pretty good. Southern rock has never been my favorite, but CCR was probably the best of them.

Bad Moon Rising Lodi

- Really solid country rock with riffs for days. - Enjoyed it more the more I listened to it and paid attention to the guitar work, although I’m not that big a fan of his voice. - I liked that there are a handful of pure instrumentals as well. Good vibes. Maybe not one that’s gonna become a personal favourite but will gladly spin it again.

Besetzung: John Fogerty (Gitarre, Gesang), Tom Fogerty (Rhythmusgitarre), Stu Cook (Bass), Doug Clifford (Drums). In der Retrospektive zählt „Green River“ zu den wichtigsten Alben der Band und wurde 2003 auf Platz 95 der Liste der „500 Greatest Albums of All Time“ der Zeitschrift Rolling Stone gewählt. Bewertung: Ein kompaktes, stimmiges Rock-Album, das die für Creedence typische Mischung aus rauem Blues- und Rocksound mit eingängigen Melodien verbindet — hörenswert als klassisches Stück amerikanischer Rock-Musik.

Terrific album. Contains some of the band's most iconic songs (Green River, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi) mixed with a few bluesy numbers and a cover tune. The best song on the album is the the protest anthem "Wrote a Song for Everyone." Favorite song: "Sinister Purpose"

Reviewing such an iconic album seems pretty pointless. There is nothing I could possibly contribute that has not already been said, so it is probably best to focus on what spoke to me. Green River is quintessential Americana roots music. Some songs lean more heavily toward blues-inspired classic rock, while others lean into rockabilly. Both are good, but I personally prefer the former. Fogerty is a great guitar player and my absolute favorite parts of this record are his lead riffs. His boogie grooves are an important ingredient in Creedence’s special sauce. Green River is where Creedence found their core sound and really started to move toward classic rock royalty. It is a great, record that rolls nicely from one song into another until it doesn’t. The album starts much more strongly than it ends, which the last couple of songs seeming like they belong on another record. Overall though, Green River packs a lot of fun into 30-minutes. Green River certainly qualified as an album everyone should listen to before they die.

very nice not my typical thing but still good music!!

this grooves, I love it. It’s not terribly innovative but it’s very recognizable.

Loved it.

Loved it

Not the biggest hits came from this record - but it did have Lodi and obviously green river. Not the biggest bad moon rising fan. So I was hoping for more from this. Again I wish this had half stars. I guess it’s 3.5 and I’ll round up.

Great folk album, BMR is one of my favourites

CCR are legends. Y'all don't need me to explain them to you. Not as great as their Born on the Bayou album, but still real good. Bad Moon Rising AND Commotion will make it to the playlist.

You know exactly what you're getting with Creedence - no surprises here.

Not their strongest album, but all their albums are fantastic.

Difficult to judge on a single listen, but I already knew the big hitters. My brain says three but let's be positive and go higher.

Another banger. No notes. Favorite Song(s) Green River and the rest of the album.

Etwas besser als das letzte Album. Einige gute Klassiker drauf.

The songs are so simple and bare that it is almost hard to hear how precise and well constructed they are. I wish there was less echo on Fogerty’s voice on a few tracks but that’s about it.

A classic album with song real bangers. The vocals really sell this and make it what it is, just full of soul and heart. Green River and Bad Moon Rising are some of the best ever. Never gets old.

Very in tune with its time period, yet it remains classic. Warm, nostalgic, and pretty comforting.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would!

Creedence sounding like Creedence.

Good solid rock band doing good solid rock songs.

One of the best bands of that generation. They had a unique sound and style that made them recognizable and really easy to listen to.

This is basically my dad's favorite band, so CCR and John Fogerty's solo career have been ever-present in my life. I swear I wrote up a whole review for this album; praising "Lodi" as a great song, detailing Fogerty's deceptively simple but punchy guitar riffs, the Rickenbacker 325 tone with some murky stank, Fogerty's soulful sad-laced singing, how the band gets all the southern cred even though they're from a town outside of Berkley, Oakland and San Fran, California... But then my computer shut down and the review was gone. Oh well! Standout tracks: Green River (of course), Bad Moon Rising (of course), Lodi (my favorite), Wrote A Song For Everyone (underrated), and the good spooky blues rock of Tombstone Shadow and Sinister Purpose

Me guardo "Green River", "Wrote a Song for Everyone" y "Bad Moon Rising".

Obligatory reference to swampiness. Also gritty, soulful, bluesy and totally authentic sounding. I mean its a lot of 12 bar blues, which can be hit or miss for me. But this one works as the guitars and the vocals are unique sounding enough. Favourite track- Green River or Sinister Purpose. 7.5/10

John Fogarty has one of the best voices of all time. What a beauty.

On this record CCR delivers nine succinct songs that draw from the roots of American music while avoiding the hokum that plagued other Bands working that same vein. Their rockabilly-inflected tunes, for example, have the same energy and punch as their predecessors from the 1950s, but still have a modern feel. Lyrically, John Fogerty's songs are full of vivid imagery without being verbose; his writing is direct and straight to the point. The crisp playing, along with the intensity and urgency in Fogerty's voice both give *Green River* an edge that keeps it fresh-sounding even today.

7/10 CCR with a couple of great singles. 11-03-2025

I feel like I can always throw on a Creedence album and be happy about it. This seems to be considered the best of the 3 albums they released in '69 (also, they released *three* albums in '69), but I don't know that it's my favourite. Either way, have played, enjoyed playing and will play again.

Love the late 60's rock vibe.

Can't go wrong with CCR!

Great album by CCR.

Not bad. Very 60s

Another classic heard way to many times though

there's a bad moon on the rise

Always love some CCR.

Overall a great swamp blues rock album, lots of solid songs with killer instrumentals and easy listening lyrics that contains meaning and relevance even in today’s times. CCR’s a classic for a reason.

i like

A pretty good album, I really dig the “swamp rock” sound they have. Suffers just a bit from the songs sounding similar to each other, but it’s not like it’s an unpleasant similarity. ‘Green River’ is a strong opener and was the song I put on my 1001 playlist. I was wavering between a 3 and a 4 for this one, but it put me in a good mood after listening, so I’ll bump it up to a low 4/5.

Just fantastic rock this

Mijn eerste 'speciale' kaartje was Bad Moon.

Sauceometer: Upper Borderline Vibe: driving on back roads to home, but only your real home What was I doing: getting ready for work/commute Favorite Song(s): Bad Moon Rising/Tombstone Shadow Blurb: Really fun little country rock album that I could see myself coming back to

Yeah that's some good old Creedence alright. Never can go wrong with it.

Nice Americana with Bad moon as the ultimate classic

Almost as good as the soda!… Almost.

Here is a genuinely good CCR record, unlike Born on the Bayou. Great side A and no clunkers on side B, including a few enjoyable if slight instrumentals. Solid record with killer singles, especially Bad Moon Rising, which is just flat out one of the great songs of the decade.

Super enjoyable from start to finish. The album starts off strong with a couple of fantastic, vibrant retro rock songs, and the second half of the album comes alive with some absolute classics - Bad Moon Rising & Lodi are simply superb tracks that highlight the strong songwriting and delivery of the record. In short, the album feels very authentic and really well produced.

Fun album coming from the swamp rockers of San Francisco, easy to listen to and some very famous songs, however it is held back by some songs that sound exactly like another on the same album

So hard to believe this was released in 1969. Still holds up today, really good.

I genuinely think it’s hard to dislike CCR. Rootsy, bluesy, dirty swamp-rock that’s just good fun. It’s not high art, it’s just good rock music.

the second of 3 albums to come out in 1969 by this disciplined San Francisco based band that eschewed drugs for the sake of the music, this album highlights the contrasts between the fun, lighthearted, rockabilly sensibilities of the music with dark and foreboding lyricism. the album has two of hte biggest hits by the band, and continues to strike home even today.

I’ve been known to hate on music that dads like, but if there’s one I can get behind forever and ever it’s Creedence Clearwater Revival. Maybe they were fake Southerners but it probably did wonders for them not being conservative pieces of crap. They were hippies, right? They made so many twangy, classic songs and were in the right place at the right time and I fucking love them. ¨Green River¨ is a lazy, meandering song that makes me want to be fishing as a train goes over a bridge in the distance. As a Southerner, it takes me there. ¨Wrote a Song for Everyone¨ works because you believe every word Fogerty says. Something in his voice says ¨trust me and believe me¨ and I do. ¨Bad Moon Rising¨ is probably more relevant now than it was in the 60s, and ¨Lodi¨ is one of the best songs ever written. It makes me happy and calm, even when the story is about failure and bad luck. It’s simple but gets to the point, like every other song on the album, and I appreciate that. They’re like the Ramones of 60s roots rock, and that’s about the highest praise I can give. Best songs: ¨Lodi,¨ ¨Green River,¨ ¨Bad Moon Rising¨

About as chill as it gets

What a sound - guitar, voice, roots. First time listen - will listen again.

really really liked this one! nice morning reading music

Fun and kind of funky. These guys don’t really miss.

Short and sweet and no mistaking its CCR! Great collection of songs though. Particularly liked ‘wrote a song for everyone’.

Was not familiar with this album thou of course new Bad Moon Rising and other CCR records. Enjoyed it, especially Lodi and Wrote a Song for Everyone

SOOOO many hits!

Damn it, CCR just bops. Loses one star due to having a cursed song for my life.

Kind of expected?

Fucking phenomenal album

I literally covered Bayou Country a couple days ago. Green River shows ta more mature sound which thry reach in a few months and this is impressive. A thorough great album, really enjoyable. 4/5

Ridiculous they managed to put out three albums in 1969. Just a fantastic album and fun way to spend 29 minutes. Not *quite* as good as Cosmo's Factory, but it's much more consistent than Bayou Country, and John is in fine form.

Well it's Creedence Clearwater Revival and from 1968 to 1970 they could do no wrong. A really good album.

Classic Americana. So many great songs on this album.

Good solid rock n roll

Great music, but way too short! Albums should not be under 30 mins.

I don’t have a huge amount to say about this one, which might means it’s a bit generic/boring. But it’s also so clearly a great album.

28 minutes means you can listen to it twice. I did and enjoyed it both times.

Great mix of rock, blues and country

Not one of my favorite albums of theirs, but even their bottom tier albums are better than most. I mentioned it on my review of Cosmo's Factory, just one of the greatest runs in American music history. Lodi is also one of my fav CCR songs. 4/5

Two massive hits and a handful of songs that sound like the massive hits. 7/10

Had this album. Another good classic rock album with a few hits. Easy listen through.

I had never really heard alot of Creedence Clearwarer, other than the obvious songs. But i really like this album, not my usual style, but i really enjoyed it.

Wasn't totally unlistenable, but not my thing

This was a fun album. I listened to it twice just with how energetic the instrumentals are, well...more like nature energetic.

No CCR album is a 5/5 for me. There is always filler, but because of that their best of compilations are among the greatest albums released. There are still classics here, and the rest is great, but forgettable. 4/5

I’ve never heard CCR outside of the big hits but I was really impressed with this one. Not a bad song on it. Only got one listen in today but I will definitely go back to it. Top Track - Bad Moon Rising The line between 4 and 5 is razor thin.

Are you smiling? I'm smiling. Gosh, this is such a fun record – and just as engaging as whimsical as the rest of their tragically short discography. Feels just like the album's cover art (which, by the way, is probably the best of their cover arts). Fogerty's singing really establishes the who band's sound as this gritty-yet-gentle backwoods groove group, complete with the twangy accent. I like how the melodies bounce from him to the guitars and then back to him. It creates some really interesting textures that I'll definitely be keeping an ear out for in the future. Distinctive guitar texture as well, and bass and drums (while pretty simple) work well with the overall sound. Props for that. Now for the big issue: most of the songs here sound very similar. Sure, you have the outliers like Bad Moon Rising and Commotion with their distinctive hooks/melodies, and The Night Time Is The Right Time for its excellent backing vocals relentlessly hitting the "night and day" line. But most of the other can be described accurately with the following: A medium-fast tempo, bluesy chord progression, bluesy melody, that opens with a strong electric guitar line before breaking down into solidly delivered soul verses. Seriously – you can't convince me that Sinister Purpose and Graveyard Train are two different songs. Wrote A Song For Everyone, while very strong, is outshined by the sonically very similar The Night Time (which has the added benefit of those great backing vocals). And Lodi, for all its clear sound and simple, infectious melody, is pretty darn similar to Proud Mary from the previous album. The versatility of songwriting here leaves a little bit to be desired. 4/5 Key tracks: Commotion, Bad Moon Rising, The Night Time Is The Right Time

The blues numbers were a bit generic. Otherwise strong songs and a great voice.

CCR is so damn consistent. This is the third album from them I've gotten and all three have been great. 8/10

Another revisit!

Good Songs: Green River, Commotion, Tombstone Shadow, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi, Sinister Purpose, The Night Time Is the Right Time Mid Songs: Wrote A Song For Everyone, Cross-Tie Walker (Worse BMR) Bad Songs:

Solid classic American rock, including 3 big hitters! Damn close to a 5*.

Amazing

Green River shows CCR right in their prime, with John Fogerty’s swampy riffs and gritty vocals leading a set of songs that feel both timeless and straight out of the late 60s. The title track is one of their most iconic, a perfect mix of roots rock and southern imagery, even though the band was famously from California. “Bad Moon Rising” is here too, deceptively upbeat while warning of chaos on the horizon, and “Lodi” adds a more reflective, almost weary tone that balances out the energy. What works so well is the consistency. The songs are concise, packed with hooks, and never overstretch themselves, which makes the album a tight, satisfying listen. The band may not have been reinventing the wheel, but they knew how to make rock and roll sound earthy, direct, and endlessly replayable. Green River is proof of why CCR’s run of albums in this period is still considered one of the strongest in classic rock.

Surprisingly liked this. Nice and chilled. Very of the time.

Another teenage era favourite. Loved the passion of John Fogerty's voice and d the tight instrumentals. So many classics! Not their best album but very enjoyable.

Another good CCR album with some great songs

A good album with a couple standout tracks

Good background music

The obvious gem is Bad Moon Rising but starting off with Green river and ending the Night Time Is The Right time is genius arrangement. Lodi and Wrote A Song for Everyone a great interlude tracks.

Enjoyable but not a ton of sticking power for me, I’d revisit but nothing really makes me want to come back.

I SEE THE BAD MOON RISING Everything else is pretty good, but Bad Moon Rising went quadruple platinum on my Spotify account.

Loved it - have listened to Bad Moon Rising forever, but really enjoyed rest of the album and found some new gems (Lodi)!

So they released three albums in a year or two. Sadly they all sound very similar. They are good but alike. I enjoyed it but was kinda hoping to see some growth and realized it isn't happening. Overall a good album its CCR so you're gonna get a quality album. I really enjoyed it but I've always liked them. It's just a solid album and a great example of "Classic Rock"

Great album. I knew a few of the songs but hadn't listened to the album before. Tight blend of folksy bluesy countryish rock--reminds me of The Band, especially "Wrote a Song for Everyone"

Good stuff by CCR 4/5

Man I love CCR, the ultimate southern rock band and honestly arguably the greatest American rock band of the late 60s and 70s if not of all time. This album is the group’s first proper killer record in my opinion: the opening title track has a great beat that gets you fully set for the album. The bluesy guitar on “Commotion” starts off an excellent song. The big hits “Lodi” and “Bad Moon Rising” are both excellent, the record has little if any low points.

Fun to listen to the whole album. Had no idea all of those hits came from just one record.

Love it. Favourite song is Glory Be 4/5

In CCR fasion, a classic record that still kicks ass to this day. Everyone needs to give CCR their flowers for writing some of the most classic songs of all time. Solid toe tapping in your face swamp rock. 8/10

Liked it better than I thought I would but a lil honky tonk for my tastes

Unexpected songs in this albums (Like Bad Moon Rising). Pretty nice album

This was a band that played rock & roll so joyously that they masked the, well, "sinister" undercurrents in Fogerty's songs. - AMG

Classic CCR!

classic early 70's sound with a little 50's inspired rhythmy guitar. great first listen for me

A couple of bangers, all quite samey, but a good vibe nonetheless

CCR's albums so far have all been great - they always come with great energy and instrumentals. This album is no exception to that.

This band almost never missed. They were around for such a short time and yet they wrote massive hit songs NONSTOP. The only fault I have with this album is not everything can be a massive hit, which is barely criticism. I just think a lot of the songs on this album are completely overshadowed by BMR and GR. But I did discover two songs of theirs I had never heard before but really loved (“Tombstone Shadow” and “wrote a song for everyone”). I guess the only other criticism is that I like a lot of variety in albums and this album is one specific sound but they have completely mastered that one sound. So the good thing is if you like the title track (which is obviously in this case the first track to listen to) you will like the rest of the album. But if you don’t like that song and are looking for a different sound to come from this album you will be disappointed. Seriously though, this is one of CCR’s best albums. Cant recommend this album enough.

fun yellow stone that actuallly has emotions behind it

A tidy collection of songs where Bad Moon Rising doesn't particularly stand out: I preferred Green River, the guitars on Tombstone Shadow and especially the emotional Wrote a Song for Everyone. No skips though, and I like the bluesy sound. At 29 minutes, it's worth playing it twice, but I wouldn't have minded a couple fewer fade outs.

Amé dms

Definitely an album made in the 1960s, but I'm not complaining. Instantly made me want to go on a road trip through the USA with nothing but a paper map and a single suitcase. Instant mood lift! Favourite song: Bad Moon Rising

There's a fuzzy boundary between blues, rock, and country. This falls the right side of all three for me.

I guess I’m a CCR fan

Poppy Swamp Blues

Day 23 First listen- A really good album! I think I found a new fav- wrote a song for everyone! (4/5)

76/100. It’s a tight, unfussy collection of swamp rock, country blues, and rootsy rock and roll that feels both grounded and immediate. The undeniable standout is “Bad Moon Rising,” a short, sharp burst of apocalyptic cheer that remains one of CCR’s defining songs.

Listened to this while playing Vantage. I lost pretty hard...but that's what I get for trying to intervene in a fight between a tornado and a robot. Nobody wins in that fight...well...maybe tornado. I definitely enjoyed losing to this album though. I was familiar with a couple of the songs. It definitely doesn't overstay it's welcome (I'm still glaring at you, Allman Brothers)...definitely enjoyable throughout.

Solid 7/10

I love CCR! John Fogerty's voice, the lyrics, and sound just do it for me!

This album is purestrain CCR: does one thing really well, then keeps doing it. Great music, but really just a collection of songs. 30 minute runtime and I was ready for it to be done, but not mad at the time I spent. Bad Moon Rising is a classic.

86% Best: Green River; Bad Moon Rising; Sinister Purpose; The NIght Time Is The Right Time Must-Hear? Sure

One of my mom’s favorites.

Swampy.

I mean, its CCR. So always nice. Two standouts here. Green river and bad moon rising. But its not my favourite outing by them for sure

*Solid 30 minute album of all good CCR stuff. *Fave track - Bad Moon Rising RATING - 8/10

Nice album typical creedence.

Classic jam band vibes

Wahhhhhh this is a good ass album wahhhh

Like my previous comment about the Dead...with CCR you know what you're going to get. It's a great album. But the way CCR's output has been repurposed in every other Hollywood film that wants to make a lazy attempt at 'this happened at this particular time' by throwing some CCR on to the soundtrack, it's watered down the legacy of their work, IMHO. But I gave a fresh listen and... as an album, it still holds up.

would give high 4s if possible

Solid some great classics

Good album to work outside to. Good album to drive to. Weird album to take a poop to. That's a timing thing though.

how does a band from the bay area yeehaw this hard

Great classic rock.

4 out of 5. Rock comfort food.

3.5 - Good

Det är ju objektivt bra. Inte riktigt såld på genren dock. Lite mycket gitarrunk. Men det är i grunden riktigt bra. Förstås.
