I feel like I having nothing bad to say about this album, but it didn’t really stand out to me either. Maybe with a few listens it’ll grow on me, but I thought it was just fine.

Bad moon rising is great. I think there was one other classic song on hear. The rest was southern flair of rock I'd expect from CCR, but it didn't hit me the same way Cosmo's factory did

A solid album with 3 or 4 songs making the rotation on radio. Not the best of the 3 albums they released in 1969. Too bad they got ego issues.

Listened previously. Expectations: High - Verdict: Near Perfect - This is my least listened CCR album of the 1969 trio but it's still excellent. The title track and opener immediately starts grooving along and then the rest of the album just keeps on chooglin'. I love Creedence, they might be my favourite American band other than the Dead.

Four dudes in a room, sweating, smoking, slinging notes vaguely practiced, with assured melodies, cocksman vocals, and lyrics about death and memory. Won't change your life, but apt company if you're on the move and hot. "Wrote a Song For Everyone," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Lodi" are all excellent.

Why is this album so bouncy bouncy. Very good overall. But I like have you ever seen the rain better. So a weak 4.

I love getting a CCR album, it’s guaranteed to be a great listen right in the sweet spot for length. There’s a couple all-time classics, the big one being Bad Moon Rising, and the rest is great classic rock. There is a lot of similarity with the songs from time to time, but I can let that slide with how many albums they cranked out in such a short time. Probably deserves a little lower of a rating, but I thought this was great.

I have yet to be disappointed by a CCR album. These guys just get it. Every song is solid and two big hits make this an easy 4 star.

Fun, lighthearted and is reminiscent of what my idealized version of the 70s sounds like. Broken Spoke Shuffle is the surprise for me here. Wildly fun song. Idk if I'm being too generous but this is also an album i have a hard time giving a 3/5 to so I'll give it a 4. Its real cool. Fav tracks: Broken Spoke Shuffle, Green River, Glory Be, Bad Moon Rising.

When I was 10 I thought CCR were the greatest band in the world. Listening to them now, I think they sound like a good school band playing Blues Rock….

This is my last CCR of the 3 in the 1001 and probably my favourite. I have discovered during this 1001 journey, just how much a part of their story longer jams are, but they are absent on “Green River”. I’m not saying I can’t get with them stretching out, in fact their organic vibe, much like Crazy Horse is exactly the kind of zone I am happy to get settled into and groove with for longer than is strictly necessary. But when it comes down to it, it’s Fogerty’s songs that are my main reason for tuning in to CCR and this album delivers again and again crisply and succinctly. None of the more well known songs are putting the rest to shame. It’s quality all the way and when they finally throw in a cover, while they may not make it their own (can’t figure out if they are inspired more by The Sonics’ or Ray Charles’ version, or another?) but “Night Time is the Right Time” fits right in with the rest of the album.

Great album front to back. A few familiar tunes, and a few unknown ones, but those unknown tunes did not come across as filler at all. Solid 4. Would spin again.

Heard of band, never listened to album. Love the guitar on green river. Good vocals too. Commotion is another really cool song. Same good elements. Catchy chorus, simple but effective guitar. Cool harmonica with the guitar solo. Love the guitar riff on tombstone shadow. Production much better on this one, vocals were a little too quiet for the first couple songs. I just love early electric guitar songs. Wrote a song for everyone is really well written but too slow for me. Nothing special with the production. Fine song. Just an OK solo too. Underwhelming. Bad moon rising is an all timer. Commercial song. Radio song. Just a banger. Lasts the test of time. Just great songwriting. Hard to follow that up but Lodi is really good too. Better production on this one. Really good songwriting again. Nice change of pace with cross tie walker. This is a classic 70s southern rock song. Can’t help but tap your foot along to this one. Great guitar and songwriting again on sinister purpose. I want more of it. The outro is so good. This really should’ve been the last song. Night time is fine. Production is very 60s/70s. Good vocals/lyrics again. Good guitar solo too. Just wish they flipped the order of the last two songs. This probably gets a 4 if they did. But they didn’t. Fun album. 3.4/5 stars.

Premier album de Swamp Rock que j'écoute de ma vie. Je suis pas habitué à écouter du country rock mais de ce que j'ai compris yen a quelques uns sur le site donc ça va m'y introduire. L'album a des moments qui envoient de fou je m'attendais pas à autant d'énergie. Sinon à part ça c'est exactement ce à quoi je m'attendais au vu de la cover et du genre dans lequel ça s'inscrit.

Certified all timer. CCR putting out 6 bangers in 3 years is insane. I haven't listened to this one in a while. Lodi is a classic in an album full of classics. I need to revisit the Creedence catalog. Fogerty is the man.

lately i've come to realize that i'm not a huge fan of the blues and its genres adjacent, so while this album wasn't bad, it wasn't my cuppa. nevertheless it definitely did have its highlights. wrote a song for everyone immediately stood out to me as the best song on the album by far. it's quite beautiful and i think i'll be coming back to listen to it pretty often. that followed shortly after by lodi definitely made me enjoy the album a little more. favorite track: wrote a song for everyone

Good album. This is the one to recommend to someone who has heard of CCR, but never heard a song by them.

Vintage CCR, love the style, the voice, the vibe. Slightly less chopper in to 'Nam than some of their other stuff but this is one of the first albums I've listened to all the way through. In between a 3 and 4 for this one - gonna give it a 4. I really like their slower stuff more than the more up-beat songs. Although it obviously inspired both the first GRUNGE band and Gary Ridgeway, the Green River Killer, I quite enjoyed this. 3 This is excellent and I have all the more admiration for CCR because they often steer so perilously close to being barroom boring. When Tombstone Shadow’s guitar solo squats like a toad on a single wobbly note over and over again at 2 minutes I felt like applauding. It is an invitation to reflect on how little and simultaneously how much CCR have done in keeping the listener hooked for two full minutes through the most procedural of Blues progressions. Cross-Tie Walker kids you for a minute that it is going to be a witless retread of Bad Moon Rising, then that brilliant little bass run-down with comic cymbals at the end appears and becomes definitive. If the oppressive spectre of something like Neil Young is briefly summoned by the folk rock of Wrote a Song… or Lodi, it is banished by the subtleties and economy of the arrangements - even at their driest CCR are closer to the elegant lightness of The Kinks than to Young. After a few hundred albums I would rank CCR (Bayou Country and now this) among my favourite discoveries. John Fogerty is wonderful.  3.5/5

Some great songs (Green River, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi) mixed in with forgettable blues-rock. Decent record. I wonder of John Fogerty ever thought, while recording Bad Moon Rising, that this would be a song forever associated with werewolves. Is Creedence really a werewolf band at heart?

I think they should've combined this and Bayou Country (minus the lamer tracks) into one album instead of releasing them both in the same year

A surprising five-star performance -- 29 minutes which generally seemed like CCR's "Greatest Hits." But also some surprising changes in pace, like "I Wrote a Song for Everyone." This is such a contrast to the other sprawling (no doubt drug-addled) comparisons from the late 1960s cohort.

Took me back to the 60’s and my learning curve of new and exciting music

My dad loved CCR and passed that on to me. Great album full of classic songs. And I grew up just north of Lodi.

I never know how I feel about CCR. I don't actively dislike their stuff but very little of it actually does anything for me. Bad Moon Rising features on this album and that immediately elevates it, but other tracks have already fallen out of the recesses of my brain. As a positive, it's only a 30ish minute listen. As a negative, I still found myself clock-watching when I was surprised it was still going.

Fogerty vocals are as strong as ever. Probably preferred Cosmo’s Factory slightly but CCR as an album experience is a lot of fun

With a coffee in hand, reading modern American literature on a summer morning in Greece in 2026, my spirit and soul travel with this incredible record. Lucky those who lived through Woodstock. Favorites: Lodi, Bad moon rising, the night time is the right time.

CCR most underrated band of all time. Bad Moon Rising? Green River? Are you kidding me?

John Fogerty and CCR are Southern Rock titans, but it's not because they grew up where hoppin' Jon is a side dish. It's because they took their love of R&B music ("The Night Time is the Right Time") and spun it through Country Rock ("Cross Tie Walker" sounds like Johnny Cash could've performed it), and what comes out is classic rock to the core. One great thing about these guys is that even though they were in San Francisco in the Haight-Ashbury heydey, they are very economical with their songs. No 10-minute jam sessions, just get in and hit you with their lyrics. A treat, and somehow this is one of THREE albums they released in 1969!

Great album! Obviously knew the hits, but it was fun to hear some more solid bluesy rock by these boys. Fogerty's voice is perfect as the front man. Also this cover looks like something the anti-drug coalition would have used in the late 60s. "Don't get high on drugs kids - get high on music and nature instead!"

it's fine! the only song i really listen to from this is "bad moon rising" but the rest is pleasant enough as well.

It is crazy to think CCR was able to release 2, let alone 3 albums in the year of 1969. You'd think that each project would go down in quality but Green River feels a whole lot more defined and memorable than the last project. The range of music included in this 29 minute album is nothing short of impressive. There are hard rocking cuts and some more somber and emotional beats. Green River is the first album in CCR's discography I feel shows the legendary status of this band to put out music that sticks with you and rings in your ears when you least expect it. Thankfully this album is also super replayable as you can pick it up from any point and soar without it ever feeling like too big of a jump to get into again. I cannot wait to dive more into CCR because at this rate they can only really go up from here!

Creedence is solid so happy to give it a spin. I found Wrote a Song for Everyone to be a great hidden gem. Surprised to discover Bad Moon Rising was only 2:19 long. Amazing that they cranked this and two other full albums out in the same year. Would happily spin this up again when I'm feeling in the mood for some classic rock n roll.

Classic rock in the purest sense - simple, straightforward, heartfelt, and well played. There's nothing too fancy here (though there are some interesting riffs in tracks like "Commotion" and "Sinister Purpose"), but this music is very good at being what it is. The band is tight, and the swamp-rock sound is uniquely CCR.

While the Brits took the blues to the realm of the guitar virtuoso, the stones electrified its gritty under belly and ZZ Top turned it into party music - these guys staright-up melded it with the rest of Americana creating a uniquely American sound.

I would feel wrong giving it a full five stars but four seems cheap. Absolute classic, and the two instrumental tracks at the end are excellent, easily my favorites from this, and I say that as someone who has a deep appreciation for Bad Moon Rising.

This is a good album. There’s no arguing it. It’s tight and every song is good. No skips. Not my type of music, but it’s good.

I have never been a CCR fan and man this album really isn't going to change my mind. Never liked John Fogerty's singing or songwriting, and the guitars on this record are painful to listen to, especially on Tombstone Shadow. No thanks.

Solid ass CCR album, no annoying tracks, bad moon rising is a classic, and it was cool to hear a couple live versions at the end.

29 minutes of jangly, blues-y, Americana-y catchy tunes. John Fogerty is 1 of 1....a great rock voice, a great writer of simple songs, and great at being equal parts original and familiar, without sounding played out. There is no one like CCR...they make it sound easy. One of those bands who is just universally.....good? I dont know how to say it because I feel like I cant picture anyone being like "i HATE this"

Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Lodi….all classic rock song and have listen to them many times! Great album overall! CCR never musically imo!

CCR was so locked in during this stretch: driving upbeat swamp jams but spooky weird apocalyptic lyrics. There is a limit to how much CCR I can take, but the record is tight, no filler, and next thing I knew I wanted to hear 'Song for Everyone' again.

Pretty much in line with what you expect by seeing the album cover. In no way was it terrible, just not really for me.

CCR has quite a few songs on here I’d put on a playlist, and the rest are still full of quality songwriting and instrumentation. Wrote a song for Everyone and Bad Moon Rising are two that will be remembered best for me, though I feel the same song structure was used for the rest, though the entire album was enjoyable. Overall Score: Light 7

Через полсотни метров он всё же останавливается и из его окна с отсутствующим стеклом высовывается загорелое веснушчатое лицо с полуоткрытым ртом, жующим соломинку, и лёгким кивком приглашает внутрь. Что же станет саундтреком вашего путешествия мимо сырых, как трусики среднестатистической посетительницы концерта Beatles, болот и золотых полей на ближайшую треть страны?.. Если вы предположили, что Creedence Clearwater Revival, то вы либо прекрасно знаете музыкальную историю США, либо вернулись из Вьетнама с ПТСР и опиумной зависимостью. Вышедший летом 1969ого альбом Green River хоть и не содержал тот самый гимн крылатой кавалерии, но разошёлся не менее хорошо среди американского рабочего класса. Как ни странно, но пышноволосые калифорнийцы были наиболее популярны именно на фермерском юге страны, вероятно, ввиду нарочитой приземлённости и, как бы сказали сейчас, "жизовости" своих сценических образов и музыки. Звук и лирика CCR не похожи на психоделически-метафорическую волну исполнителей тех лет. Это незамысловатый (хоть и достаточно качающий) и непретенциозный южный рочешник c щепоткой кантри и блюза и текстами о криках жирных лягух в топях, о нежелании идти на войну, о бессмысленной беготне "городских крыс", не замечающих мира вокруг. Есть там и более угрожающе "мифологические" зарисовки вроде Bad Moon Rising и Sinister Purpose, сочетающие некоторую апокалиптичность и богобоязненность со свойственной необразованным реднекам верой в чертовскИе знаки и приметы. Самым выделяющимся треком на альбоме является по-рокнролльному развратный The Night Time Is The Right Time (https://music.yandex.ru/album/8268774/track/4836) в стиле какого-нибудь Литл Ричарда. Готов поставить сотку, что под этот трек были зачаты десятки тысяч американцев. Немного портят впечатления две последних сугубо инструментальных композиции (Broken Spoke Shuffle и Glory Be), которые не отличаются какими-то сложными аккордами и новаторской техникой игры. A very tight 29 minute in the pocket performance that flies by. I appreciate Fogerty's ability to shape his vocal riffs so that they give more rhythmic depth to songs rather than words simply laying on top of them. A small detail, but it really differentiated CCR the other blues rock contemporaries. That, and their discipline to avoid extended improv sessions on the album recordings and to save those for the hardcore fans at concerts. Also exhibits a very skillful level of songwriting that is pretty rare today. It craft actual stories, and manages to walk the line carefully enough that the songs are accessible enough with a well structured foremost groove, and open enough in the lyrics that no matter what your political views are, they invite you in, rather walling you off from their central characters with off putting sloganeering. Favorites: "Green River", "Bad Moon Rising", "Lodi", "Sinister Purpose"

Classic album, but does not have the depth im looking for.

listened before blues and early rock, traditional motifs “Lodi” is my favorite. Though they emerged in a place and time where trippy psychedelic visions were the order of the day, CCR bucked the trends and instead tapped into a rich, traditional seam of American music that connected to blues, country, rockabilly, gospel, folk and R&B.

I loveeeee Creedance but I'm not IN LOVEEEE with this album. Of course Bad Moon Rising is just an absolute classic and such a feel good hit but If I'm rating the album on it's entirety then no this is not my favourite album and lacks a bit of flavour. I love you CCR I know you've got better

Every time I hear these boys, I have trouble believing they're not from Louisiana or Mississippi or Alabama or some such place.

Great album. Couple of amazing songs. Fogerty's vocals throughout are really good. Just a good listen from start to finish.

И не просто куча среднего материала, в каждом альбоме было по несколько хитов. Да, битлы и роллинги поначалу выпускали по 4-5 альбомов в год, но это были ранние записи, большая часть которых состояла из каверов или уже выпущенных ранее песен, а тут почти полностью оригинальный материал. Так что можно сказать, что тут группа была на пике творчества и продуктивности. Хотя мои любимые их песни все же пойдут чуть дальше, с 3го альбома того года и в следующих. Тем не менее, крепкая работа от одной из групп, которые для меня больше всех олицетворяют конец 60-х.

#12 CCR always seems like the most appropriate soundtrack for a sweltering hot day, so naturally this one generated for me on the first 90 degree day of the year. Several of their biggest hits are on this album, and the relatively short runtime works in its favor, as there isn't much filler here. Overall a very solid classic rock album, and an important part of a great band's catalog.

Credence lucked out since today was a hot one and it bumped up the album's rating at least 2 points

THE CCR ALBUM. Entire album feels like the soundtrack to a fever dream or wild flashback that I truly enjoy.

A very enjoyable listen. Somber Rock with loads of heart. Proud Mary at the end was a sweet surprise.

They are like a good friend, always there for you when you need them. It's CCR, you might not get along with all of the tracks, but I guarantee there will always be one that you do. You can't go wrong with them.

Enjoyed this more than I thought I would! If I had to indulge in some 60s Redneck Rock this would certainly be up there in my list of choices. Swamp Rock deserves a modern comeback.

Mark Kermode is a massive Creedence Clearwater Revival fan, so now I get the references. This was fun, and didn’t get the bad kind of weird like that Clapton one. Made a good tidal radio playlist too.

Not my favourite CCR album but all the '68 to '70 albums are great (and boo to not having Willy and the Poor Boys on the list). For me it lacks one or two more rockers, with too many (very good) mid-paced songs that make it sound too samey. Still a great album, but for me a touch short of the perfection of some of their other albums

Perfectly fine faux-Southern rock. You can tell they're posers because it all lacks a certain scumbaggery (which I do like in the right doses) in the vocal and the instrumental. That's probably how they managed to get so big. Wrote a Song for Everyone feels especially egregiously affected.

While I definitely don't think it's necessary to have two albums of a three album run from the same year, it's also CCR. This list has helped me find out that I have my dad's taste in Country despite him never listening to Country around me and very rarely talking about what Country bands he actually likes, outside of never shutting the hell up about Bob Dylan. I got a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album yesterday and he comes into my room and goes "now where did you find this one?" and went all crazy about there being an album from them on the list. Half my family loves CCR and the other half hasn't heard of them, and I'm definitely a part of the former half. It's pretty hard not to have fun with an album of songs like Commotion and Wrote a Song For Everyone, and John Fogerty's voice is recognizable from the other side of a continent. He's pouring 75% of his soul into his singing and he saves the other 25% for his guitar.

I already know I don't like CCR, so we'll see how this goes. Yep. Really didn't like this. I generally think the blues are boring, but they were popular, and I can see how swamp blues stood out in the field, but it's just awful.

Easily my favorite CCR I’ve heard. I like that they picked up the pace more on this one. The boys were just having a hootin good time and everyone was locked in.

Can’t beat it. So many classics on this one. One of the best to ever do it, truly one of the few. Such a sound. All their albums are full of heat, so hard to pick the “best”, but this is up there. Lodi sells this one for me, even though it’s probably a deep cut to most.

Bluesy, edgy rock for its time and all time.

CCR is an exemplar of southern rock. Bad Moon Rising and Lodi are radio staples. This may partially explain why I’m a little bored with them, though other radio hit makers I still love. The styling of the lead singer is the main draw and, to a lesser extent, the songwriting. The production is good enough to be listenable, which is more than can be said for plenty of 60s and 70s rock albums. The musicians are solid, but there are no Jimi Hendrixes here. I liked hearing the bonus superstition song in Sinister Purpose and the double lead guitar moment in Tombstone Shadow. I also enjoyed the shift to a Motown cover on The Night Time is the Right Time. I don’t hate it. I wouldn’t need it in my collection to on though.

This isn't even the best album CCR put out in its year. It's arguably not even the second best released within a year of itself. Which sort of speaks to what CCR was about… it is really impressive how iconic they ended up in so brief a time. Arguably rock's greatest appropriation act, Creedence all but defines swamp blues despite being California boys. Some of that is Fogerty's voice. Some of that is that distinctive guitar tone. The title track is a stomper. Lodi is a classic plea to escape a dead end town. Bad Moon Rising feels superstitious in a way that feels distinctly bayou. It's kinda amazing how well they create a sound that feels so at home in a setting they don't know. I didn't realize how comforting this sound would be. It's brief, but tight. It delivers exactly what you would want from it, and if tracks like Sinister Purpose and Wrote a Song For Everyone don't shine like the hits, they still remain more than filler, part of a clutch of songs that don't really have any gristle on them, that are all at least good (and let's be real, some of these songs are just as solid as the hits: Cross-Tie Walker came to mind immediately). Light 4* territory again.

I’m at a 4.5 that I’ll bump up to a 5. Not too much to say, really. I trust CCR quite a bit at this point, so I knew this would be good. It’s not quite as dazzling as “Cosmo’s Factory” from a year later, but it just didn’t have to be. As always, John Fogerty’s vocals & lyrics are on point, which is to be expected at this point. Surprisingly enough, it’s the instrumentals that feel just a little flatter compared to “Bayou Country”. It might just be the mix from the 1985 remasters flattening down some of the percussion, or the lack of extra depth in the guitar solos that “Cosmo’s Factory” had, but I found this album feeling a little more tame. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t rock though; even when it’s more tame overall, there’s still always a good moment from SOMETHING in the soundscape, whether it’s the grit in John’s voice, a fun guitar solo, a little syncopation, or just a cool fucking outro (ala “Commotion”). There’s not a single skip here, and nothing drags on a little too long like it does on “Bayou Country”. “Bad Moon Rising” is the only one I knew going in (a billion plays on Spotify, deserved for good reason), but everything else here is pretty damn good as well; my favorite is probably “Lodi”, if only for the blend of good storytelling & the swaying guitar rhythm that ties it all together. I do feel like “The Night Time is the Right Time” is a little incessant with the backing vocals & a little odd as a closer, but that’s being a bit nitpicky, I think. As a whole, it’s a super tight 29 minutes, and while the lack of bigger variety does make it feel a little longer, I can’t possibly complain about the quality of the tracks here. Hence, a 4.5 that I’ll bump up to a 5, and a pretty strong way to close out CCR’s presence on the list. I need to go listen to “Willy And The Poor Boys”, I think.

It’s all fairly enjoyable standard fair, but then you hit ‘Bad Moon Rising’ which is an undeniable classic.

“Bad Moon Rising” is objectively a great song - the rest of this was just standard fare. Nothing necessarily wrong with it, just not that exciting.

On the previous Creedence Clearwater Revival album I said that they had a particular sound, and that as a result, I kept expecting every song to turn into Bad Moon Rising, yet it never did. I was in luck this time! I feel the same as on the previous album. It's perfectly enjoyable as background music, I wouldn't turn it off, but I'm not going to seek it out. It's probably a 2.5/5 but I actually did like it enough to not get a 2, so: 3/5

This is the second CCR album I’ve reviewed on this list, and it’s another good listen. I probably prefer Cosmo’s factory to this one but the bluesy rock sound just works, good driving songs. Also had a moment of quiet reflection listening to bad moon rising, which is what the Diogo Jota song is based on. YNWA #20

Not a lot of great tracks here, but it does have the legendary 'Bad Moon Rising', along with a couple of other bangers in 'The Night Time Is The Right Time', as well as 'Green River' and 'Wrote a Song for Everyone'. Ultimately, it's probably not the best Creedence album, but it holds up fairly well after all these years.

plenty to like about this tight little record! the band is unfussy and very tight, a clear product of John Fogerty's infamous work ethic, and Side B in particular has some wonderful songs. the country-goth workouts of Bad Moon Rising and Sinister Presence have more than a little to do with heavier bands from Maiden to Suicide, and Fogerty's plaintive vocal on Lodi is just lovely. they lose me a bit in the bluesier numbers, which blend together a bit and aren't helped by Fogerty's hillbilly yowl seeming a bit put-on. it's fun to hear a full statement from a band i only know from compilations and movie soundtracks - can't say any of it surprised me, but their ubiquity certainly makes sense!

Ive always known CCR's hits rip, its good to know that their deeper discography does as well. Some great stuff, a lot of it sounds the same but the album doesn't overstay its welcome so ill give it a pass. 4/5

It's CCR. Impossible to not like.

Honestly so many of their songs are just 'good', but it's the good kind of good that you can listen to anytime. Favorite track: Wrote a Song For Everyone (although Bad Moon Rising has a special place in my heart because it's my dad's favorite song, and has always been his ringtone.)

This is what I wrote about Bayou Country: I just really like CCR - both Fogerty’s voice and the atmosphere that the music brings. There are some fillers on here, but most of the songs are great. I would write the same about this album. Bad moon rising is a banger though, and this album doesn’t have those cover songs so it might be the better of the two albums

it was a slow listen at the beginning and i wasn’t really as hooked to. the music as much as i thought i would be but around the last few songs it really grabbed my attention and i enjoyed it a lot. overall i feel this is a decent album and i will continue to listen to it go further appreciate its content.

Haven’t heard this before I don’t think… Oh yes I have! Ha, well so I guess this was in my dad’s collection! God, this exercise is worth it for nostalgia alone! 4 stars. Boolean rating: yes! Glad I heard it as a kid so I could hear it again as an adult before I die.

Run-of-the-mill Woodstock rock, this time with amazing vocals. The rest is pretty basic, though. Favorite Track: Bad Moon Rising - It always feels odd, but not bad, whenever a song I listen to regularly comes up on one of these albums.

Usually just a Best Of band for me - but what a Best Of!!! Really pleased to discover that the album tracks I didn’t know were just as good as the classics I did know.

Solid start with the title track. I kind of forgot about this one forever, but it was a single back in the day I guess. It's just not played as much as Bad Moon Rising or Fortunate Son. All around good album. 4/5

This album is a little one trick pony for me, but it's a good trick. Fogerty's guitar work is some hot stuff from a blues perspective. "Sinister Purpose" has a bit of a Black Sabbath N.I.B. vibe.

I like some of the jam band / solo moments but the way some of the compositions are strung together rubs me the wrong way. Glad I listened to this one for its importance and found a couple cool songs, but probably won't revisit the entire album soon

The only disappointing thing about this album is that it ends. It's probably the weakest of the three Creedence albums on the list, but a weak CCC record is still an easy 5. It's so warm and familiar and reliable, like the leather upholstery of dad's fixer-up Oldsmobile. Fav tracks: Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Sinister Purpose
