Pleasant enough to listen to but easily forgettable
Easy to listen to but not exciting to listen to.
This is an easy going listen without anything too offensive. I just think it’s kind of forgettable.
More audio wallpaper - washed right over me and nothing annoyed or offended me, but neither did anything grab by attention
Too twee for me
Achingly knowing and yet, pretty dull.
Thought this was going to be good but it was boring
Moze to i bolje, 5/10
Heard this last year and quite liked it. Today it bored the balls off me.
boring
Still don't know if I am a Belle & Sebastian fan but leaning towards no. With the exception of a few songs including that one song from 'This is Skateboarding' on this album
Kinda chill but I don't remember much
I went into this album expecting to hate it. Turns out, I was right. It's a hateful album. How something can be so insanely pretentious and mind-numbingly boring at the same time is beyond me. What a waste of an hour.
The best of this album IMO: - You're Just A Baby - Electronic Renaissance Too calm and sweet. Not my type of rock/indie/pop. Their electronic side is way more interesting to me (like with Electronic Renaissance). I was very bored by the end of this album. 2.2/5
I am afraid I just don't get it--how is this a top 1000, and how does it have all the 4 & 5 star reviews? Seems a bit drone-y to me with little in the way of dynamics and interest.
With a breastfeeding tiger on the cover I expected something more interesting.
A couple likeable tracks. 2.375
I did not care for this album. The songs were not that good and it was not memorable.
meh - end of the album was aight, but was expecting great things based on this cover
Not my kind of musib
Not for me at all but I will say that I Could Be Dreaming is a pretty perfect indie pop/rock sound that has stuck around even today
Like she's losing it
I'm very familiar with Belle & Sebastian's work from the early 2000's. As such I'm finding it hard to get into this earlier 1996 album. It's interesting to see where they started, but I much prefer the later work I'm used to!
First listen. Nice. I like the sounds. Would like to hear more of it.
Pretty but nothing engaging. Inoffensive. Acceptable at a cocktail party. Not really for this kind of list.
First few tracks- quirky, upbeat, very interesting lyrics. More teenage antipathy than angst to the soundtrack of colourful, happy music. Love the instrumentation, the horns especially. Not mad about the singing itself but it works with this style of music. Electronic Renaissance came out of nowhere, reminds me of an Arcade Fire album. Album sort of became featureless after that
Scottish indie music. not my thing
Not my jam, but kind of cool nonetheless
eh
Not my taste, a bit uneventful
false
Only 3 tracks from the album are currently available on YouTube but they were not my sort of music
It was okay. Pleasant. the cover was better than the album. I liked I don't love anyone and electric ren. Didn't love anything. I could do without hearing this again. I think it is the monotone singing. I don't feel any pain, emotion, joy... it's xanax music
Bit samey. Not really my cup of tea.
Pues, me gustaron 5 canciones de 10.
It’s just ok. Nothing special but also nothing bad. I wouldn’t feel like I was missing anything if I’d have not heard this album and I think I’ll forget it quickly.
This is an upbeat and folky pop style inspired album. An accent on the main singer adds a sense of rawness to the soundstage whilst the use of taps, claps and drums allows for a more playful and rich tone throughout. Just as the style of the album is started to be understood, an **Electronic Renaissance** in the form of a mid album breakup shakes things up. The mixing of this track is raw and unfiltered, presenting harsh trebles and highs, a radio in the shed experience. Suddenly, we are back into the earlier album with a happy style guitar riff paving way for the ballad style **‘I could Be Dreaming’** The use of tremolo and echos throughout the song provides a warm feel to the track. Powerful tracks and voice complete the powerful backing to the song. The vocals provide a surprising rounding and polish to the outdo of the song, solidifying the ballad experience. Suddenly the tempo drops in a reflective outlook on life as shown in **We Rule The School**, make the most of your life and think back to the times as a kid. This vocal emphasised track intertwines with various musical melodies to represent the different paths of different people. Powerful lyrics presenting a powerful message. **My Wandering Days Are Over** has a sense of refinement, a reflective look back on life with a feeling of the journey through life. We can hear about the path the lead singer has taken, the wisdom he has gained along the way. The music is less playful, more serious and the addition of brass represents the subtle seriousness of the track. **I don’t love anyone** and **Mary Jo** are just not worth writing about, a weak end to a could be great album.
I did not enjoy this.
Not a great album to me. The music is tame and not very 'creative' basic tunes. The singing is what made me really not like this. It's not so much singing as narrating over some instruments and there doesn't seem to be and flow in the lyrics. It sounds like you asked someone how was your day and as they told you there was some music in the backround
meh
Laaaaame
Beetje slappe indiepop, niet echt mijn ding
There's nothing wrong with this album but it's not my kind of music. Just a noninteruptive scottish pop.
Beetje saai
Nice. Nothing stood out to me though.
it was fine. good walking music. the contrast between the lyrics and sound was interesting but not groundbreaking
Not sure about this one
Mellow kinda boring
Didn't really feel this one
eh not for me
Mainitsiko joku unimusiikin?
I don’t know what this was but +1 star for the cover album
Pretty mid but wasn’t a fan of the vocals which seemed as if they were punched in on an intercom. Plus the percussion mix was way lower for a good chunk of the album

Not at all what I was expecting, but this was super boring.
escuché medio disco, muy de fondo. Muy soft. No me gustó
Can’t get into these. Wishy washy 1/5
not my type of music
An album for self indulgent hipsters that think they are cool when they are really just ass-hats. 1.00
Meh found it pretty boring
Doesn’t resonate with me at all. It’s bland, and uninspiring. The lyrics sound like the rantings of someone in an insane asylum, delivered with the enthusiasm of the most meek person in the world. The music is inoffensive so I wasn’t clamoring for it to hurry up and end, I just kept waiting for something to grab me and it never happened.
1/5
I do not like this
Album 20 and this is the first I’ve found that commits the cardinal sin of just being… boring. Absolutely nothing about this album and I felt it was a complete waste of my time. While I’ve not found certain albums, cough, the Pogues, unenjoyable I can at least appreciate their artistic merit. This is just so cookie cutter vanilla and inoffensive it’s almost offensive to me.
This is a way too soft and wimpy. Makes Simon and Garfunkel sound like hardcore metal. Not bad strings and trumpet here and there but good god I'm sleepy. "Electronic Renaissance" and "My Wandering Days Are Over" picked it up a bit and saved it from getting a lower score than Sex Packets. With 6 artists making up the band you would expect more from a record. Maybe it's just Murdoch on lead vocals...Lou Reed on Ambien. How is this a must listen before I die? 1.23 stars.
Oh, I didn’t like that at ALL. Whiney to my ears.
Whatever. It's okay but kind of generic and boring. A few of the executions missed for me too - there was one song where there was talking in the background but it had me wondering if something was playing in a different tab, not that there was talking in the song. 1/5 stars.
Did not enjoy it
I wish I could die without hearing music of this nature ever again. I don't think it's technically bad, I just hate listening to it.
I first came across Tigermilk aged 11 perusing the indie rock section of Rough Trade Records, the shapely breasts of the cover began my sexual genesis. I convinced my father to lend me 2 shillings and purchased this album. When I heard this lispy man with no Scottish accent mention Debenhams I entered a state of clarity and turned this crap off.
hated this a lot. don’t have anything good to say so I’ll leave it at that
BOOOOOOO BORING!!!!
Not coffee, not tea
Halfway through i let out a big sigh. A sigh of discontent. At this stage in my life, I have no use for this album. I have never had a use for this album in my life, and I don't think I ever will
I cannot stand these guys. Just a bunch of noise at 500 hz and above, tuneless meandering with pretty instrumentation.
Jao dosta tih loših albuma pliiiz. 1/5, 1/10
Forgettable.
Second verse, same as the first. This was slow boring shit. This felt very uninspired. I enjoyed the music here more than their last one from this list, but I am still unimpressed with the vocals.
Dog shit
Not for me
Yep, still not my taste. I had to force myself to sit through it all, which only confirmed I could've bailed out at any time prior.
The twee aesthetic still sucks ass. Also, None of them are named Belle nor Sebastian. ⭐
Not for me.
Just off. 1/5
What
Tweeee
Belle and Sebastian just isn’t my thing.
Gross, has left a bad taste in my mouth 🤢
Is this a nepo-band? The singer is just not good.
This was, twee?? Ugh
Horribly fragile. 1.4
Insisto, de cornudo esta banda
Same song over and over. Not my thing its boring and predictable.
Didn't enjoy much of anything here
Gepflegte Langeweile.
Not my style
Ugh, more hipster folk music. Uninspiring and boring. Sounds like a rough cut of a demo tape.
Not to my taste at all
no
This did zero for me, boring, bland, go nowhere music.
easy listening this maybe ain't
Worse than cancer
Not good
Mehhhh
Not my thing. Awful.
Boring.
More like kitten milk. This cotton soft woe-is-me brand of hipster wimpiness does nothing but irritate me. Go purr yourselves. 😾
Bored the shit out of me
Twee indie stuff. Reminds me of Donovan or Cat Stevens, which is not what I was expecting. The lyrics didn't really jump out at me, so not really sure what it was all about. And I don't really like the voice. Thought I would like this more than I did. Disappointing.
Very chill music that I’m not all that into. Listen again: no Purchase for my collection: no Favourite Song: Electronic Renaissance Worst Song: didn’t like a lot of them
Not a lot of range in the album.
MEH. Also wtf, why do people enjoy listening to singers who sing flat? So grating. Couldn't make it past halfway. Whiny garbage.
What's worse than a boring, monotonous, '60s folk rock album made by yet another group of white dudes, and a saccharine, indie choirboy record with zero grit from the mid to late '00s? An album that simultaneously sounds like both of those genres. Blech.
liked songs: she's losing it mary jo didnt like: all the rest
It’s like music that’s daring itself to not exist. Wither and waste music, I have zero idea as to why anybody would choose to make or listen to music in the Twee genre, it seems antithetical to everything I go to music for.
No es mi estilo
not my gig

Goofy ahh
nope
Ik weet niet waarom ik zo'n aversie heb tegen Belle and Sebastian, maar keer op keer drijven ze me tot waanzin. Dat slome lijzige lamme gemekker. Bah.
Not keen.
high noise floor. so far i don't know why this is a must-listen album. In fact, I'm sure this isn't on ANY list. not good.
Moody 90's pop with cringeworthy singing. What could go wrong?!? 1/5
shite
No.
Not my thing.
So forgettable that when i woke up this morning I’d forgotten who the artist even was
Not my stuff
Try as I may, I couldn't find anything going for this album other than its cover
Didn't click with this at all. Not a fan of the vocal style and the songs didn't really take my interest. I assume they went on to write better stuff given their popularity but probably won't be checking it out.
No me produjo nada.
THBPBPTHPT! Can't I give less than one star?
Bland to my ear.
dont like
gay, kinda Ok guitar so far, Cant stand it
not for me
Idk
