Reviews (page 2 of 8)
This hard rock album strides forward with unfussy guitar crunch, solid rhythms, and a powerful vocal presence that aims for impact more than subtlety. Its songs move with a kind of barroom bravado—solid, familiar, and built for immediacy. Like a well-worn leather jacket, past its prime and no longer contemporary.
Bad Company is as mid-tempo classic rock as it comes. It’s not bad but it’s certainly not great. Don’t Let Me Down might be my favourite. 5.7/10
Поп рок середнячок
Generic 70s rock. Unremarkable.
Beetje standaard jaren 70-spul. Niet echt slecht, maar het heeft een grote 'waarom moet ik dit eigenlijk luisteren?'-factor. Daarmee ben je nog geen classic album, kortom.
No puedo con el hard rock, por favor no mas álbumes de Hard rock
- It’s so bland - the lyrics and melodies aren’t interesting enough to remember. Do they even care? Holy repeating the same lyrical line over and over without interesting-enough instrumentation to make up for it. - Can’t Get Enough is the only song I knew, and I guess for good reason. Now that I think of it, I hadn’t heard the title song - Bad Company on an album called Bad Company by the band Bad Company. That’s not a good sign. - Another album where I wish it was either harder or poppier - this is so very middle of the road. Very Eagles. At least it’s hard to actively hate? I’m still giving it a 1, though because it was just so boring. I expected more for a “supergroup”, and it absolutely doesn’t belong on this list.
More like BlAnD COMPANY 🍞
Actually the best company.
This album is really great, with such fantastic tracks. Really a very enjoyable record. It's pretty generic, but the songs in here work really well, and truly is a very funny and lovely album. So, even though there could be something else, everything in here really does its job, and with such fantastic results. So, at the end, I couldn't ask for more. It's great the way it is!
Absolutely a great album. Prime example of 70s rock that is fun to listen to and really enjoyable. Not a bad song on the album. Most bands would love to have 5 memorable songs spread across their discography but, this album has them all for them. This is a 5-star album all day, every day.
Es el estilo que quiero ahora me encanto
Really solid classic rock. I like Zep better but would still crank this album any sunny afternoon.
Rate: 9/10.
This is what I think of when I think of 70s Rock and Roll. Some ballads, but mostly straight forward rock. No question if it’s metal or hard rock or what other sub genre it might be. It’s Rock and Roll. And man, this is good stuff.
Endlich mal wieder ein hörenswertes Album. Längst vertraut!
One Two, One Two Three Brrrggmmm and we are right into one of my favourite albums. Supergroups can sometimes be a bit entitled but here you have Paul Rogers incredible vocals and Mick Ralphs steaming guitar joining together to be melodic and hard. Radio friendly this is the very definition of Classic.
The best of hard rock in the mid 70's. And it's amazing how many hit songs came off this album!
A real supergroup propelled by one of the greatest rock voices ever.
I’d heard of Bad Company at the latest through Halestorm’s reference to them, but I can’t recall hearing a full album of theirs. Their debut kicks off with a bang with “Can’t Get Enough” and doesn’t lose much momentum after that. In addition to the sound—which was extremely clear for its time—and the relatively prominent bass, I particularly like Paul Rodgers’ voice. To me, it sounds a bit like Eric Martin, and in other ways, Bad Company reminds me of Mr. Big, who were among my absolute favorites for years—which in turn proves Bad Company’s influence. In summary, this is an album you have to hear, and I’m grateful to have had this experience today. This is how ’70s hard rock should sound!
Not bad
I forgot how much I like this album! Took me right back to the 70’s.
Really good album, turns out bad co are really good co. Sorry for the pun lol
I will admit that I expected to go into this album finding it dull or self-indulging. I was wrong. This really felt like no frills classic rock. There were elements of blues and country woven through making it feel human and raw rather than an over polished product. I enjoyed listening to it the whole way through and thought the pacing of the album was great and the composition and instrumentation worked well. Glad I can still be surprised by some of these albums.
mevasaaaaa
Every song is a hit. A must-gave if you collect, a must listen if you rock and roll. 10/10, regardless of how cliche it sounds. It just fucks.
First five songs were songs of my youth. Great trip down memory lane.
Great, classic American rock album, and a helluva debut!
Great!
Probably could’ve been one and done walk-off grand slam for Bad Company. Amazing album with some iconic bangers.
Can't get enough...
An absolutely monster of a 70s rock album - so awesome! A lot of (all?) their hits on here. Tones like that bring a smile to my face and remind me why I've been in love with the electric guitar my whole life. There are crunchy riffs aplenty, guitar solos that melt your face, a rhythm section that "rocks steady."
per ora miglior album dall'inizio molto coerente ma per niente monotono già riascoltato 3 volte grande hit
Man, what a debut! I miss 70's arena rock!!
Awesome
Love it. Own it.
FIRE classic rock album, sort of bluesy and ultra cool how have I never heard of these guys either?? “bad company” by bad company on the album bad company

I loved this album!! Obviously, there's the title track which is a classic, but so many other songs that were bangers... one of the better albums I've heard in a while.
Começando por aqui! Álbum muito bom!
I dont know why but I always thought Bad Company was punk music but this was so much better!
Great album. Not sure what else to say, it's just good. 5/5
What an amazing album. So many great songs.
Awesome album all the way
Classic. A lot of good songs, and even better memories with this one.
5/5
Clean tracks. Well engineered. Hits the right place between eagles and foreigner
Love it and must of once had the album or the cassette as I knew every song on it
Totally featured in the Supernatural soundtrack
Loved it. Vocals are killer.
the debut album of bad company, and these guys are immediately opening your door and flooding your ears with sick guitar riffs and absurd amounts of testosterone. absurdly perfect production value, especially when compared to all the other hard rock bands i've heard from around this time. a perfect balance of hard hitting anthems and slow, smarmy jams. it's a great buffet of sound. are they experimental? heavens no, this is straight up rock. but is it great? abso-fuckin-lutely.
great
This album is easy listening
Is this...... my new hyper fixation?
Great album from one of the greatest voices in rock 'n' roll. Shame his talent was cut short by a couple od strokes.
Excellent
This is what you want when you say you want rock. Smooth groove and clean tone, perfectly dialed in. The pacing is a tight 35 minutes, all killer. Classic for a reason. It kicks ass without ever breaking a sweat. Incredible debut album. Shoutout to the triad - a song Bad Company, on the album Bad Company, buy the band Bad Company... Spins: All Day Playlist Additions: - Can't Get Enough - Rock Steady - Ready For Love - Don't Let Me Down - Bad Company - Seagull
Day490 - a classic rock staple. paul rogers has one of the best voices. im happy they were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame its to bad they’re all to old to perform
This album was a centerpiece of Friday nights when a few of us would hang in a buddies basement drinking beer back on the 80s. Super great uplifting album with a couple moody tracks built in.
I had no idea they were on Led Zeppelin’s label but it makes sense. They have similar sounds. This has so many great tracks it would be a tragedy to rate this anything less than a 5.
No notes necessary, as this album has been in my collection for a long time and is an old favourite of mine. However, I will say that I believe the album is worth five stars for Paul Rodger's brilliant vocals alone, never mind all the other things I love about Bad Company.
This album rocked, had heard a bunch of these songs before but didn't know the band name. Short and very tight, enjoyed the bluesy elements and catchy riffs. Favorite songs were: Ready for Love Bad Company Seagull 9/10
I'm forever surprised how many musicians I didn't realize are from the UK lol. These guys have always felt so classic American rock to me. The Wiki page describes them as a hard rock group, and I also don't get those vibes. Anyway, lots of classics on here and this was a great debut. I was not expecting to like this so much. So groovy and rockin' and just pretty special. These guys are super talented. Don't Let Me Down is my fave on here, but really enjoyed the whole thing.
One of the best singers in rock. Great cover of Mott the Hoople's Ready for Love.
There have been a few albums where I accidentally clicked the deluxe version with so. many. extra. versions of the same songs. And there have been a few where that was the only option available. I've hated it every time. For this album, I deliberately picked the deluxe version with so. many. extra. versions of the songs. On purpose. And I listened to them happily, and will do it again. Bad Company is pure classic rock. It's one of those bands that I'll listen to over and over. It never gets old. 5 stars. Related, I also recommend Five Finger Death Punch's cover of Bad Company.
One of my top debuts!
Awesome
There are quite a few classic bangers on here but even the rest that I didn't know at all was great!
Solid classic rock!
Love that this was included. What a debut album! It's a bonafide killer from start to finish, six of the 8 songs were constants on rock radio when I was a kid in the 80's. Hard to beat the intro with "Can't Get Enough", then you roll into "Ready For Love", "Movin' On" & the ultimate classic "Bad Company". Fully loaded classic rock album. Even the ballads "Don't Let Me Down", "The Way I Choose" and "Seagull" are memorable and adored. The band itself is awe worthy... Paul Rodgers could sing the phonebook (and make it sound good), Mick Ralphs is a vastly underrated guitar god, Simon Kirke has some of the best drum fills ever & Boz Burrell is a legendary bass virtuoso. My parents know these songs, that has to say something about the prowess & staying power this album has had. Hit songs, influence, longevity on the radio, this one has it all. If you're a real fan of this album try the Deluxe version and hear how the songs morphed into what was ultimately released in 1974, along a few great B-sides. It's hard to believe they could leave "Little Miss Fortune", "The Way I Choose", "Easy On My Soul" or "Superstar Woman" on the cutting room floor!
5/5 Bad Company begins solidly with the simple yet effective rocker Can't Get Enough, before the funkier Rock Steady comes in. Then Ready for Love is such a beautiful rock ballad, with the instrumental moving brilliantly from lush in the fantastic verses, to sparse in the bare bones chorus. I love the piano in the instrumental break. The timeless Don't Let Me Down finishes an exceptional first side, with some breathtaking solos. It brings a welcome freshness to the centre of the recording. Next, it's Bad Company, the song so nice they named it thrice. A great storytelling tune, with an amazing chorus. The Way I Choose is a slower track with great guitar work, and the brass parts support capably. We're moving on to Movin' On, a bright, energetic number, with fantastic vocals, before Seagull finishes us off. The verses are a bit stilted, but the chorus is solid. Overall, this album is a great example of getting the most out of the ideas you have. It's short and sweet with eight great songs and no filler. Many elements can be described as basic or simple, but they work so well. Can't Get Enough 5/5 Rock Steady 4.5/5 Ready for Love 5/5 Don't Let Me Down 5/5 (FAV) Bad Company 5/5 The Way I Choose 4.5/5 Movin' On 5/5 Seagull 3.5/5 (LEAST FAV)
No notes, made me cum
Excellent rock album
I know this album very well. Here is the thing, even the deep cuts on this album are bangers. I challenge you to find one song that isn't. Bad Company is another band that I would classify as a "Guitar Band". Love everything about this band, I hope you do too!!!!
This is a great album. The songs are so well written. There's a real range of tracks too, not just copies of the same track. I do believe that the 70's was a real peak period for music production. Paul Rodgers is a great singer, which obviously helps too.
Very enjoyable quite different from what I was expecting, not just a bunch of loud rock great album.
-I love this sm!! Honestly has no bad songs (the closer may be the weakest in my opinion but is still good). The energy is awesome. Makes me want to ride a motorcycle while smoking a cigarette and wearing aviator sunglasses and a leather jacket -Favorites are Can’t Get Enough, Rock Steady, Ready For Love, Bad Company, and Movin’ On
Awesome
Great album, if you like blues rock
til the day i die
Superb.
Great album
This was a pretty standard sounding blues based rock/folk album with some nice sounding production for the time. Luckily I'm massively into that.
My favorite Album!
Haven't listened to this album for years. From the opening track "Can't Get Enough", through the title track "Bad Company", to the closing track "Seagull", this is a classic 1970s rock album.
5.0 - Vinyl
Pure distilled WMGK classic rock.
Excellent
Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company. Not my favorite album of theirs, but I understand why this is the one chosen for the list. Probably like a 4.5 but rounding up.
Classic album, I LOVED it. Been listening to them all day long.
A powerhouse of a debut. Only heard the title track before, so I was expecting similar tracks to that, but the way they have such variety on each of the other tracks was such a pleasent surprise.
This album is special to me. My dad introduced me to it when I was listening to some hard rock back in high school. I loved it. I think all the songs just really flow well together and even though I guess I'd classify it as hard rock, it's pretty easy listening. Classic rock, easy listening, and nostalgic. Triple win.
Great album
This is my music here, probably going to be called Dad rock by others. Just great jams that remind me of listening to classic rock in my brother's car when he drove me to school. Their eponymous song is still just a classic I will never get tired of.
I own and have listened to it. Classic live show with JB at the peak of his powers.
Unreal. Great rock album. Listened 5x
One of the best voices in rock, and some of his best songs on this BC by BC from the album BC is (maybe) the best example of the triple shared name. Flawless
Paul Rodgers is one of the finest singers in Rock history
I knew so many songs! Great album.
Every song is a banger. 5/5
I’ve never heard of this band before. I really liked the mix of rock and soul/R&B, very smooth The singer has a great voice.
LOVEEEE, best one yet. liked every song
Absolutely fire classic rock
You can make a fantastic album that isn't three days long. Some great rock ballads, anchored by Ready for Love.
Awesome
Favourite songs: Can't Get Enough, Rock Steady, Bad Company, Movin' On, Ready for Love Least favourite songs: The Way I Choose 5/5
Not bad for a lad from brambles farm in Middlesbrough
extremely surprised, this has that real good emotion and touches of soul I loved. I was really invested with the singer's performance and lyrics
Blues rock. Me ha gustado bastante. ¿Hasta vinilo? Venga, va.
Venga, le voy a dar un 5.
I really love this album. It's just good rock and roll from way back in the day.
Solid classic rock.

One of my favorites
Vraiment tr`s bon. Une bonne rrecette pour du bon rock, j'ai écouté 2 fois de suite 5
Great 70’s rock
amazing album - 10/10 whoever that singer is, he has the voice of a god
Great album! I was familiar with "Can't Get Enough," "Ready for Love," and the title track, but a couple of the others sounded slightly familiar as well. "Rock Steady" was a standout - reminded me of a 70's Whitesnake song. Good old rock 'n' roll!
Great album. I much prefer this over Free. Less blues. More rock. It really rocks! Miles better than the average album from the 21th century.
Blues rock. Me ha gustado bastante. ¿Hasta vinilo? Venga, va.
I've heard of the title track, but otherwise am largely un-familiar with the rest of their music. I am loving the classic 70's rock sound they are putting out. Another surprise 5/5.
Listened to this album many times in my youth so its like putting on an old coat, still comfortable and full of memories. Good quality straight down the line rock songs here, not much filler
Paul Rodgers is a classic. His voice never gets old. This record is at once of its time and timeless!
Best album so far
One of the best debut albums of all time. True classic rock classic.
Great album. Masterpiece for a debut album
I love the music from this album….
classic and cool
This is such a blast back to high school for me. It came out in my freshman year and it is the soundtrack for much of high school for me.
This is classic and well-craft rock n roll.
I haven’t listed to record in several decades. SEVERAL. I had pretty much written off most “classic rock” after hearing this stuff ad nauseum growing up as a kid. I wasn’t looking forward to listening to this. Objectively, I gotta say this record is fucking fantastic. Rodgers vocals set the template for a rock lead: from soulful to stone hard. The backing vocals blend, support, and enhance. Ralph’s guitar is huge and heavy with solos that shine but don’t seek the spotlight. If I were to nitpick… I would cut the saxophone. But that’s a tiny distraction in a nearly flawless record that should only be listened to at speaker shaking levels. A totally unexpected 5 for me.
Sometimes you get an album to listen to that you haven't heard the whole album before (that's me with this one) but by the time you're done you realize you know 3/4 of the album because it got so much airplay. This album is full of great songs from beginning to end. Staight up rock, done extreemly well. Good stuff here, will listen to again and again.
An amazing piece of music overall. Has the right amount of distortion to musicality with a good voice to boot. Every song is very well done and mixed.
cool
Fantastic album beginning to end.
Although I may have seen this band in concert in my younger years, but I don't think that I was ever a fan. Listening now, I am totally puzzled as to why. This album was simply awesome!
I was exposed to this in my youth through my sister's record collection, but I wasn't terribly attracted to it then. Back then I would listen to "Can't Get Enough" but generally didn't listen long too much after that. It felt too "grown up" for me. I guess I'm grown up now, because I really love all of this. Very well done 70s rock that makes me feel like the cool kid I always wanted to be. I loved sitting back with the lights low and chilling out to this album. Definitely has earned a place in my permanent rotation.
Paul Rodgers is my absolute, number one, most favorite voice of all time. He can do no wrong. That is all.

Just good old fashioned 70s rock. Every song on this album is a banger.
Quintessential Bad Company- a very good album that I’d listen to again
Good rock, good stuff
This was one of my favourite albums and I loved listening to it again.
Wow! Forgot how great this album and this band are!
So many good songs
a great early rock record
A favorite from the end of my teenage years. Thanks for reminding me.
Excellent album. Solid rock tunes.
A fantastic album with a fantastic track list. Absolutely legendary.
interesting good
Балдеж, на альбоме есть как рок триллеры, так и много лиричнлй музыки, одноименная песня однозначно хит!
Le petit rayon de soleil de ma journée
Would not buy
1974. Debut studio album.
This is such nostalgic album for me, as I heard it a lot in my late teens and early 20s. This is probably the first time I’ve listened to it in full since, and it’s still great. Not perfect, the quality dips in the middle, but this is a true classic rock album.
When I was a teen, I absolutely wore out Bad Company's "10 from 6" -- and about half of that greatest hits compilation is on here. Really good classic rock. "10 from 6" is a misnomer, however. Even though BadCo had six albums, none of the songs from "Burning Sky" made it onto the greatest hits, which is too bad, since the title track is one of their best tunes.
Loved it - classic rock done right
Good old school album a couple of great songs!
I'm happy to have started with their debut album. I can see myself falling in love with this band so want to tackle the discography chronologically. Born in 75 so around the time they were gearing up. Lots of bands I listened to sound like they sprung near this tree!
It's like blues and country but it's... good???
Good collection of classic rock radio hits.
I was amazed how many songs I knew off this album. I liked it and his voice is fantastic! However, I am not a seagall. 7.75/10 Top song Bad company (of course!)
8/8.5, gran álbum. Me gustó mucho que se entienda la letra y el ritmo de las canciones con mucha guitarra. Además fueron 8 canciones y duró 35 mins, lo que está bastante bien
Expectation: -> Vaguely familiar band name. After listening: -> Usually when I'm in the mood for something like this, I reach for Foreigner, Journey, or Whitesnake. Time to add Bad Company to the list. This is similar, very polished, and with an excellent vocalist. Just a touch behind the aforementioned bands. Track ranking: Bad Company Ready Enough Rock Movin' Down Choose Seagull
Bad Company by Bad Company from Bad Company. 4.
Hell yeh, so many bangers
"Dad what were the 70s"
A good hard rock album filled with songs that rock.
Can't go wrong with Bad Co.
Cool medio country pero olvidable
4/5
Straight forward rock. It’s pretty good. Favourites: Bad Company, Can’t Get Enough and Seagull
🤩
Good old classic rock
This album felt like a very straightforward hard rock. Rather than sounding larger-than-life or experimental, it has a grounded, almost bar-band realism that I found surprisingly appealing. “Bad Company” stood out to me the most, with its dark atmosphere and confident, bluesy feel making the strongest impression.
iwie das was ich mir von led zeppelin erhofft hab? also led zeppelin ist auch geil aber das mag ich iwie ein bisschen lieber, es ist cleaner?
Not a bad song on this album. It should really be part of the collection for any fan of classic rock. Didn't realize it was on Swan Song, which is cool.
Great album, some bangers on this one.
Solid rock album with a few iconic tracks.
Excellent rock and roll. The real deal with a purity and a heartfelt soul to it. Props.
Expected generic seventies rock record and that is what I got, but I liked it anyway. Halfway through the album the singer made it very clear that he desperately needed to get laid. The second half luckily had a change in themes. Musically, this was pretty good. Doubted between 3 and 4 stars. I am in a good mood and rounded up
As debut records go, this was pretty awesome. As a 14 year old when this came out and a 9th grader, this album was part of the soundtrack for that year. What I could not understand at the was how Paul Rodgers vocals were the glue that transformed pretty conventional music into something that was catchy memorable and ultimately, more than 50 years later, into a record that is still listenable. My taste changed rapidly with my discovery of the Buzzcocks and the British punk invasion a few years later but this album’s impact is undeniable. It along with Thin Lizzy’s Jailbreak record and a couple of others bring back memories of pool halls, parties and girls in a much simpler time. Bad Company, Ready For Love, Movin On, Can’t Get Enough are still easily recognizable and sing-a-long with songs. There are a couple of average songs, Seagull and The Way I Choose, that don’t hit the same way as the rest. I guess it truly is all relative. But I’m probably not alone in the thought. 4/5
Blues rock. Instant like
3.75
This was much better than I was expecting. Not ground breaking, but I found many of the slower cuts pleasant. 3.6/5
I was wondering where the classic rock on this list was. Finally got to it. While the lyrics aren't all that inspiring, the voice and instrumentals fit together really well. Throw in a couple flanger and wah sections and it's time for driving with your shades on. Being the seatwarmers for zeppelin's studio isn't so bad after all.
Love this album. So many hits I remember and other tracks that were pretty legit too.
very dad
Entertaining blues rock. I’m easy to please
classic from the 70
A must listen 70’s rock n roll classic.
Nonstop bangers
All around solid. Nothing super notable but enjoyed all of it
Meat n potatoes rock but lifted above usual fayre by the compact arrangements without any hint of pretension. 'Cant Get Enough' is the classic, with the open tuning of a Stones record and Rodgers' typically excellent vocal. It rejects rock-wankery for a tight chug and a 4 minute duration; and whilst its opening gambit is proto-Capitlaist avarice ("well I take whatever I want"), it's a a pub-rock banger, in the stable with the best Status Quo or 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'. The yearning rock ballads are equally as good, primarily 'Don't Let Me Down' - an excellent, gospel-infused track which Rodgers' voice lends itself to perfectly; but also the wistful 'The Way I Choose'. With some moments that underwhelm, overall this album gave me ZZ Top vibes but when ZZ Top are very good, with some Creedence 'swamp rock' thrown in, through the Faces Brit pub-rock filter, great economy, and superb delivery.
3.5 - Good
Good old classic rock
This album is good. A little bit same-y to start but it gets better as it goes on for me. I like the mix it ends up having of some softer and some heavier tunes. It's simple, well written, and worth hearing; even if it isn't particularly special. It doesn't over-stay its welcome at all coming in under 35 minutes. I appreciate this project. 3.6/5
Way more hits by this band than I realized
70’s Rock ⭐️Bad Company
Really good
Great dad rock album, my type of music for sure. Don't Let Me Down was my song of the album and fav first listen and Can't Get Enough and Bad Company were my other highlights
This has to be one of the all time classic debut albums ever.
Rock AND roll? Don't mind if I do.
I don’t know why I had it in my head the Bad Company was an 80s metal band, this is dad rock at its finest. Fucking good album.
8.0/10 Really liked this one
Classic classic rock
A handful of hit songs. No really bad songs.
Favourite Songs: Can't Get Enough Bad Company
This is hits rock radio. It’s good. But I might be over it. This is going to be hard to be objective about. I know the first three songs and track 5 well. The others should be a surprise. Track 4 don’t let me down is great. Ok. So this album has the hits, but the deep cuts are also good. I’m digging this. And apparently I know “moving’ on” And I know seagull. This is pretty good.
"Bad Company" is the debut album by English hard rock group Bad Company. Blues rock and hard rock are the Wiki-listed genres. The album was recorded at Headly Grange with Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio and was the second album released on Led Zeppelin's Swan Song record label. The band was labeled a "supergroup" and was constructed with Ex-Free members Paul Rodgers (vocals, piano, guitars, tambourine) and drummer Simon Kirke, ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist and keyboardist Mick Ralphs and ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell. The album reached #1 on the US Billboard 200 and #3 on the UK charts. The album opens with the Mick Ralph penned "Can't Get Enough." A drumbeat and that classic rock riff. Rodgers with his bluesy soulful voice. A bluesy groove and a solid introductory song and sound. He can't get enough of her love. "Rock Steady" adds a cowbell, more of a stomping beat and another decent groove. A classic 70's sounding rock song with a Southern rock edge. "Ready For Love" is a Mott the Hoople cover. I admit to not knowing an original existed. A slower start and a song closer to the blues with a background organ and piano interlude. More of a grinding, grungy pace and guitar tone. Rodgers with vulnerable and exhaustive vocals. The self-titled "Bad Company" starts off stark with a piano, drum rattles and guitar noises. One of Ralphs' better guitar solos and recurring riffs. Rodgers is relegated to his fate as a rock and roll lifer. Rodgers had to give Bon Jovi ideas mentioning a six-gun in his hand, didn't he. "Movin' On" gets the groove going again. A solid rhythm section and the one song where it appears the band is just having fun and jamming. Maybe, the sleeper song on the album is the closer "Seagull." It appears to be all Paul Rodgers, on vocals, acoustic guitar and tambourine. Rodgers shows his emotional vocal range as he uses a seagull as a metaphor for navigating life's obstacles. This album is loaded with classic rock anthems. There's bluesy guitar riffs and grooves and areas of soulfulness with female backing vocals, the piano and organ. Rodgers has a great voice for this type of blues rock music. The band is rock solid. You hear influences on bands such as the Black Crowes and Bon Jovi. Besides a few romantic songs, the lyrics are either celebrating or feeling relegated to the rock and roll lifestyle. It's funny; Bad Company is one of the few classic rock bands where I did not get sick of their songs yet did not feel compelled to buy any of their albums. Yeah, this is a solid album which has aged pretty well for me. I think everyone knows where they stand on their music but you could do a lot worse than going back to listen to at least this album.
lotta classics on here
Not much to say other than this feels like the quintessential hard rock album. Concise, direct, and a nice touch of emotionality. Very consistent and delivers a solid offering for the whole runtime. Missing a true standout song for my taste, but very good otherwise. Top tracks: Rock Steady, Bad Company, Seagull
First song I associate with Wayne's World 2. Just a solid classic rock album.
They're having a great time and so are we. This is one of those where it isn't perfect but it's perfect for what they were going for.
I can't remember if we have listened to any other album that sounds so much like the stereotypical local bar band. Which probably does make it perfect for this list. This album is probably the reason that so many local rock bands sound like this. There is some nice piano on Ready For love which separates the song from the pack. Ohhhh, that Bad Company! Okay, I get it, they are the best to do this sound. They may have won me over Might be rated higher for all of the great memories of it playing over callers on The Best Show. High 4
lol these guys were so horny
Liked this one better than ZZ. Had all your classic rock stereotypes
I rather enjoyed this album. I knew a fair amount of the songs and the album is just solid rock.
Solid, less hardcore than I thought it would be, very nice listen.
easy 4. like the depth and breadth of the sound in a way I didn't like in the other rock albums I've listened to.
One of my favorite albums from my youth.
Great seventies rock. The Bad company song is a long time favourite, but other tracks are also great!
Pretty damn good, 4 stars
Amazing album overall, however it really slows down after Bad Company and doesn't regain it's steam. Best Tracks 1) Rock Steady 2) Can't Get Enough 3) Don't Let Me Down
This was a great listen, very chill but not boring at all.
Great debut album. Really chock full of 70s Dad rock anthems. Not sure every band made up from guys that used to be in another band has got to be considered a supergroup. Had no idea this album was from 1974. Seems like the prototypical 1979ish album. These lads were ahead of their time. Not my favorite music, but gonna give it a 4 due to the sheer number of hits.
Nice
So much of this is ingrained in my soul and yet I've never heard the album. Smokes from beginning to end, a 4.5 for me
Love this album. Strong writing, original for the time and really guided groups like REO Speedwagon and others.
absolutely and utterly fantastic. i see why my friend’s dad has bad company tattooed on him
Love the song Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company.
Likte det litt, eg!
Really bloody loved it tbh
Pre good pre good
i don’t know anything about this album or what it’s going to sound like.
One of my favorites of all time and a great choice since the band was just inducted into the Hall of Fame
Can‘t Get Enough .. von diesem tollen, bluesigen 70er-rock. mal was „gscheits“ von damals!
Kerniger Rock, passt.
4.5
I feel like this is a classic rock sound that most everyone can agree on. Is it the boldest, most ambitious classic rock? No. For that reason, many of the songs have been drowned out over time. But it embodies everything that makes that genre enjoyable.
Favorite Track: Bad Company
Solid with moments of greatness.
Is there a genre called "competent rock"? Because this would be it. Very well produced, everyone on their marks, just bland enough to not offend anyone. Because if so, this would be the definition. Not a bad thing, but not always what you want to hear. 4/5
A pretty standard representation of 1970s blues rock. Simple, and at times pseudo introspective lyrics (you identify with seagulls? Really!?) But for basic entertainment value, I’m OK with rounding up on this one from 3.5*.
So much more easy-listening than I expected, and I liked it.
This was as even an album I have ever heard. I could have listened to this for houes
Rock radio classics. They can keep the slow jams outside of Ready For Love.
I have never heard this album before today, but due to radio I was already jaded a quarter of the way through the first track. But when got to lesser radio played songs it picked up for me quickly. I have no problem with classic rock, or Dad rock if you want to be insulting, it’s still listened to for a reason, some 50 yrs on, so call it what you will. Strong, melodic, straight ahead rock from start to finish, buying into that anemoia. Do I prefer others from the time, on this hearing yes but that’s just personal preference. Not likely to return to quickly but not going to find fault either 4 Star.
4/5
Till the day I die
Not sure I've ever heard this all the way through. It's really, really good mid-70s hard rock with a ton of commercial appeal. Don't know if critics at the time liked it, but it has some huge hits on it. Now a staple of classic rock radio. Very high 4
So generic, couple hits, not actually bad
Great album, but not as good quite as good as Straight Shooter.
Classic ‘70s rock with some definite stand-outs—enjoyable!
I guess I have a soft spot for bands who not only have a self titled album, BUT also a self titled song. This is 70s Dad Rock at its Dad-est.
This is just a really enjoyable '70s rock album. There are several big hits and if you like their sound the whole album is perfect for you.
A nice collection of bluesy rock ballads - I like
Einfalt og þétt rokk.
very AOR drive time . but enjoyable.
I dig Bad Company and always surprised by how many of their big hits are on this album.
COOOOL fav was the title track (even though it was weird listening to bad company by bad company in an album titled bad bunny)
A classic rocker.
Great to k band from the 70’s. Great songs.
- better than a 3 but not perfect .... am I being too harsh here due to over exposure? maybe ..... 4 stars because it's not perfect. -
Du bon gros rock sans prétention, un album short and sweet, j'ai bien aimé!
Encore du rock d’homme blanc des années 70… mais pas si mauvais! J’ai eu du plaisir. Don’t let me down…
Bought this brand new from Tower Records, saw them live at the Seattle Coliseum as an 8th grader. Seriously, this thing got a ton of PT in my house. Must’ve driven the family crazy. I shed that phase long ago, but the blast of past is well worth the short, 8 track listen… so much so, it got a second spin. Are they good? Sure. Great? Not so fast….
Despite having heard an impressive number of their hits over the years on the radio, I'm not sure I ever knew that Bad Company was a supergroup. That's likely because I'd never heard of either of the bands Free or Mott the Hoople, although I'm sure I've heard some of their songs on the radio (and I've now even listened to a full album by Mott the Hoople thanks to this collection). This definitely seems like a band that is far greater than its parts, and even if I wished that the album rocked a little harder than it does, it's hard to find fault with the balance in their songs; the only weak spots are the slow confessional "The way I choose" and their ballad "Seagull".
Bad Company Bad Company Bad Company
Cool blues rock record
Classic 70's rock. Good stuff.
Classic rock. Good quality across the board. A little boring and samey for my taste, with no real standout songs
GREAT RECORD!
I think my definition of ‘Heavy Metal’ is vastly different than whatever the critics are defining it as. In any case, great debut album and I love Paul Rodgers’ voice.
gutes Album
# Album Name: Bad Company # Artist: Bad Company # Rating: 4/5 # Comments: Gotta love a bit of dad rock. Its turned up to 11 on this one. Good album though. # Top Tunes: Cant get enough / rock steady / ready for love / dont let me down / seagull # Would I listen to it again? Yes
Holy shit. Bad Company. Dude it’s so beast. Bad Company. I’m biased because of JoJo but it’s good.
Not their best album. It wasnt varied enough. Having said that I could listen to Paul Rogers voice all day (maybe). Bak in the day he was referred to as sex on wax.
I like this, it's a nice soft rock with great vocal. Heard it before, so nothing surprising or mind-blowing here. I fail to see it as anything special, and it feels a bit 'dad rock' today. Straight Shooter does it more for me personally. Still enjoyed it.
Heavy airplay on classic rock stations, but it's decent music. Memorable songs that aren't quite annoying enough to be called earworms. Short album, at only 34 minutes total, but it packs a punch.
Solid staple and great representation of 70’s rock. I recognized most of the songs here. Enjoyable and a nice flashback. Strong album and debut.
A solid debut from a band that falls into the category of quintessential 70s classic rock. I remember hearing many of these songs on the radio in heavy rotation, and they still hold up today. These guys liked two things: rockin’ and screwin’. And not always in that order. If you couldn’t get enough of their love, by God they were gonna rock you steady enough until you were finally ready to love. Not a lot to overthink here. Just good old rock n roll that still survives today.
Three solid hits that you gotta think most peeps would recognize. The softer songs with Don’t Let Me Down and The Way I choose are quite nice too. And a good acoustic song with Seagull. Really just solid music. Also, these are some horny mofos…can’t get enough of your love, ready for love, feel like making love (yes I know that’s not on this album)…reminds me of south park when cartman started a Christian rock band and basically just sang love songs to Jesus 😂 3.75
Apple Music has a one line description of this album, and I dig it: the definition of no-nonsense '70's hard rock. I thought about going full-on 5-banger, but there's just something missing. Can't really put my finger on it. Just kinda feels like it is on the brink of greatness but never really go there. Still an awesome, albeit brief, album. 4/5
Traditional classic rock, not too flashy, not too boring. I don’t think the album is special in any specific way, but personally I find it quite enjoyable to listen to. Very catchy with some grooving songs.
Erg leuk. 4 reten FAV Don't let me down, Bad Company
Classic rock through and through, this album is the definition of dad rock, and it does it well. Solid songs, big riffs, and an easy listen from start to finish.
Yikes, their Spotify profile photo really took some badass points off of my list. I didn’t picture them looking like a backing band for Tom Petty. These guys don’t hit as hard as I thought they would. I thought they were going to be more Black Sabbath and less Boston. Even with that slight knock against them I do like this. They can write catchy songs, that’s all we need ver ask innit? Choice cut: Bad Company
Underrated band. So many hits, with many of them on this album. They all rock, and the new ones were good too. Big fan.
Got stuck in my head
The irony is that this album was the best company
easy listening
Earlier I described Steely Dan as "some good fucking dad rock". I need to revise. Steely Dan is good dad rock. This is good fucking dad rock. It's a 4.5 star album. I'd round it up, but the last song falls flat and I can't overlook it.
If the one trick pony's one trick is really good, then does it matter if it only knows that trick?
