It’s ok but it’s absolutely wild that Eminem didn’t get put on some kind of watch list with these albums man

Mar 30 2025

As someone who doesn't ever listen to live albums, this was surprisingly good. Favorites include Chain Gang and Twistin' the Night Away

Tapestry by Carole King
Mar 31 2025

Not my favorite type of music personally. Smackwater Jack, which was noticeably uptempo compared to the rest of the album, was my favorite here. Way over Yonder wasn't bad either but otherwise just not for me

Apr 01 2025

Just not my genre; I recognize the importance the album had but to me it just sounds like the same song over and over again; barely sounds like singing

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Apr 02 2025

Not bad, definitely a very long album to try to listen to in one day. Pretty enjoyable to have on in the background sometimes but otherwise I don't see myself listening to this very often if at all

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Jul 28 2025

One of the best albums I’ve listened to yet for sure. There is just so much funk, especially in A Gospel, one of my favorites. Really wish I had known about this album sooner.

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
Apr 23 2026

This one was enjoyable to listen to! Love the Trois Gymnopedies covers at the beginning and end. Some songs definitely felt more jazzy compared to others which was a nice dichotomy.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Apr 24 2026

With an album name like this I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, really soothing. Album cover is sick too

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Apr 25 2026

Not as iconic as what’s the story but still has some good ones

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Apr 26 2026

The first two songs are really great but the album takes a little bit of a dip after that. Was initially considering giving 5 stars

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Apr 27 2026

I very much like the old country sounding albums, although this one didn’t have quite enough bangers to justify a 4 star

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Apr 28 2026

Yea I’m just not a huge fan of Dylan’s singing style

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Apr 29 2026

I appreciate the creativity with this album but honestly most of the songs sound like 30 second loops that last for 6 minutes for some reason

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Apr 30 2026

Giving a 3.5/5 in spirit cause it was generally pretty nice to listen to. The sax solo in Marine Boy goes absolutely insane

Calenture by The Triffids
May 01 2026

This is that white noise type of album that I find really boring. A couple of decent ones but not enough to make this album memorable in any way unfortunately

May 02 2026

Feel like I should be rating this album higher but it's just not that memorable to me. I can only think of one song that felt really distinct and enjoyable to listen to. Hopefully there's another Arctic Monkeys album later that can redeem themselves to me.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
May 03 2026

This album is a good example of why I don't like to look at the top songs before I listen to them. I liked the Great Curve the most and then found out that Once in a Lifetime is basically the most popular TH song of all time, which I definitely didn't enjoy as much

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
May 04 2026

A bit too mellow of an album for me, especially considering that it’s Springsteen. There are a few good ones in here though

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
May 05 2026

This album definitely has a lot of soul eh? Waka waka!

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
May 06 2026

This one wasn’t terrible, a couple of the songs were bangers

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
May 07 2026

Really soothing actually. Never heard of this band but was not unpleasant to listen to.

May 08 2026

A lot of the songs felt way too similar to be super enjoyable. Also not sure why so many bands I’ve never heard of with generic rock music are ok this list

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
May 09 2026

Nice soothing album to listen to on my birthday. Funny that I’ve never heard of Nick Drake and I get two of his albums in a two week span

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
May 10 2026

Just a Rascal is fire but the rest are really mid. Still don’t like hip hop

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
May 12 2026

I’ve definitely heard some more memorable folk albums during this project, but there were still a good one or two in here

Lost Souls by Doves
May 13 2026

I liked this one more than the first Doves album. Most of these were genuinely enjoyable to listen to which is all you can really ask for from this project

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
May 15 2026

Sounded too much like that generic rock white noise unfortunately

May 16 2026

I can see why people like Johnny Cash so much. His voice is great and his songs have a lot of emotion. Excited to hear more of his albums!

Celebrity Skin by Hole
May 17 2026

This album started off strong but unfortunately because a lot of the songs sound the same they all started to blend together toward the end. Gonna be difficult to be memorable when that’s the case

Ten by Pearl Jam
May 18 2026

First Pearl Jam album - wonder if there’s even any more in here cause it seems like all their most popular songs were in this one. Regardless, don’t think I’m a huge fan of them.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
May 19 2026

This was a great album, although not quite sure it should be considered one of the greatest of all time. Just didn’t differentiate itself enough from an average rock album for me to think that

Justified by Justin Timberlake
May 20 2026

Rather anticlimactic to celebrate listening to a years worth of albums. Wasn’t the worst thing I could have gotten though I guess. Timberlake has a nice voice

Destroyer by KISS
May 21 2026

Honestly expected more chaos from a KISS album. Detroit Rock City is good but everything after that just kind of misses the mark for me. Still liked the general sound though so I’ll give it a 3

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
May 22 2026

Funny that I get 2 out of 3 Hendrix albums in this project so close together. Wonder if I’ll get the third one within the next week or so. Strangely, I think I liked the overall vibe of this one more than Are You Experienced

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 23 2026

For someone who’s listened very little to Bob Marley this album sounded exactly how I expected a Bob Marley album to sound

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
May 24 2026

This album was a bit too mellow for me without being super pleasant to listen to. I feel like Johnny Cash has a better blend there but I know Nelson probably isn’t going for the same thing

Nowhere by Ride
May 25 2026

Usually not a fan of shoegaze but this one was pretty good

Synchronicity by The Police
May 26 2026

Pretty great album. Having Every Breath You Take kind of made it instant S Tier even if some of the other songs are mid

Eagles by Eagles
May 27 2026

This album is so goated. Literally every song except Most of Us are Sad were absolute bangers. Makes me super excited for the Eagles concert I’m going to

May 28 2026

After listening to this album I’m convinced that Eurythmics was some random experimental band that accidentally made one of the best songs of the 80s. Sweet Dreams is the only thing saving this album from a 2

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
May 29 2026

Not a ton of notes here, just a pretty good blues rock album

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
May 30 2026

Definitely one of the best hip hop albums I’ve heard so far. The Magic Number and Me Myself and I are both bangers. After thinking about it I’m giving this album a 5 because hip hop may not get another chance from me

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 31 2026

The Girl From Impenada is iconic and I love the copious amount of sax in this album so I’m inclined to give this one a pretty good rating

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Jun 01 2026

Bro what is this crazy album. If I get to the end of this project and there’s a bunch of great albums missing I’m going to be so confused as to how ones like this made it in over them

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jun 02 2026

Thought it was gonna be just another hip hop album but it ended up being pretty good

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jun 03 2026

Good album - somewhat ethereal sounding at times and it’s impressive to be able to do that without just sounding like white noise

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Jun 04 2026

Unfortunately as soon as I said yesterday’s album didn’t sound like white noise I got this one that does. Just now finding out that Shoegaze is basically the white noise genre to me so yea not a fan

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Jun 05 2026

Not bad, some of the songs sounded wildly different from others but what did you expect from an album like this

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jun 06 2026

Not a huge fan of the Pixies, although there were a couple decent ones. The whole bit at the end of Oh my Golly was funny

Jun 07 2026

Most of this album just didn’t hook me that much although there were a few good ones. Not enough to justify more than 2 stars unfortunately

Wild Gift by X
Jun 08 2026

Nah this one is just all over the place and has that classic white noise rock feel

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jun 09 2026

This feels like the first proper EDM album I’ve gotten the whole time which is pretty crazy. The cover is also very reminiscent of crab rave. Album is ok overall but Firestarter is a banger

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Jun 10 2026

Totally judged the book by its cover on this one. Album was way better and more calming than I thought it would be

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Jun 11 2026

Probably the least good Elvis album I’ve gotten so far but it’s still Elvis

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jun 12 2026

Some all timers on this album for sure…great sounding rock

Harvest by Neil Young
Jun 13 2026

Yea this one didn’t really hook me that much. It doesn’t feel like the more traditional country I really enjoy

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 14 2026

Half of this album feels less like music and more like futuristic noises but I’m not saying I hate it

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Jun 15 2026

Dreamer is a good song but otherwise this album is pretty underwhelming - some of the songs sound a bit ethereal but not really in a way I’d expect for an album like this

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jun 16 2026

I’ve never heard of this Jethro Tull guy before but this wasn’t a bad album. I don’t know why there’s a 15 minute interview as a bonus track included though

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jun 17 2026

Very stereotypical 80s pop album but I liked it. There were some great ones in here like Never Let Me Down Again and Sacred

KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) by Ministry
Jun 19 2026

This one was a little too metal for me, didn’t like it much

Jun 20 2026

I think this may be my first Elton John album surprisingly enough, but a great one to start out with! Bennie and the Jetts and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road are both phenomenal. Barely any misses in this one

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Jun 22 2026

Probably the biggest example of don’t judge an album by its cover or band name so far. Was expecting some kind of death metal but album was actually pretty pleasant overall

Jun 23 2026

Very English sounding pop album with only a couple good ones, wasn’t a huge fan here

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Jun 24 2026

Kinda underwhelming for my 400th album but there haven’t been a ton of world music albums yet so not terrible

Jun 25 2026

A great album. I’ve giving it a 4 instead of 5 because the songs eventually blended together a bit for my uncultured ear but it’s still super pleasant to listen to

Jun 26 2026

It’s ok but it’s absolutely wild that Eminem didn’t get put on some kind of watch list with these albums man

Ctrl by SZA
Jun 27 2026

Yea it was fine some of the songs were vibey. I’m noticing a recurring theme with the post 2010 albums im seeing in this list though

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Jun 28 2026

I thought the album sounded really good overall but was maybe a bit longer than it should have been so I’m knocking it down a bit

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jun 29 2026

This album did not do it for me. Just didn’t feel inspired at all and I can’t even remember any of the songs even though I listened to it yesterday

Chore of Enchantment by Giant Sand
Jun 30 2026

Fairly pleasant sounding throughout the whole album - can’t really pinpoint any specific favorites

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jul 01 2026

Might be recency bias but don’t like the Smiths so annoying getting two of their albums so close together

Jul 02 2026

Wasn’t terrible but not that memorable either. I can’t remember any of the songs even though I listened to it yesterday but I remember that they didn’t sound bad

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Jul 03 2026

Was generally good but the songs in albums like this tend to blend together so it’s not super memorable

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Jul 04 2026

Didn’t love this one. With a name like this was expecting a patriotic album for the 4th but apparently not

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jul 05 2026

Let me check… nope, still don’t like hip hop

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jul 06 2026

Another misleading album name...it was quite pleasant and the Maggot Brain song is just ten minutes of soothing jazz that I very much enjoyed

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Jul 07 2026

Really enjoyed the mellowness of this album, don't feel like there's a ton of albums in here like this so pretty relaxing when they do show up

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jul 08 2026

Another very forgettable rock album, even though I generally like the genre. Wish more of these had better sounding songs

Back to Mystery City by Hanoi Rocks
Jul 09 2026

The Rock albums are very hit or miss on this list. The Pretenders album was wholly uninteresting to me but I quite liked this one

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Jul 10 2026

Man you guys really like your Portuguese. Feel like I’m hearing it a lot more than any other non-English language

Night Life by Ray Price
Jul 11 2026

Very stereotypical honky tonk that didn’t leave a huge impression. I did like the overall sound so can’t knock it too much

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star
Jul 12 2026

Really running out of things to say for these types of albums. They all sound very similar and unmemorable

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jul 13 2026

Love me some rock and roll! Don’t see a ton of it here so it’s always a pleasant surprise compared to another one of those forgettable rock albums

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jul 14 2026

Obviously we're all here for Come on Eileen but the rest of the album isn't terrible. Not anything that I would come back to often either, just a kind of pleasant album with one super famous song on it

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jul 15 2026

Pretty good album. I like the ones that end with really weird songs like this

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jul 16 2026

Super boring I don’t remember a single song from this album already

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Jul 17 2026

This one was pretty chill, enjoyed it quite a bit. Thought some of the songs got a bit too repetitive though for being instrumentals

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Jul 18 2026

Contains the bands most famous song so it gets street cred for rhat

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jul 19 2026

This one was pretty good. Was hard to tell if the lead singer was a man or woman tbh

Moon Safari by Air
Jul 20 2026

This was one chill as hell, really nice to relax to

Smash by The Offspring
Jul 21 2026

This was pretty good overall. I swear I’ve heard Self Esteem somewhere before but I looked it up and it hasn’t been in any movies or shows I’ve seen so guess not

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Jul 22 2026

Overall sounded pretty good but it was hard to pick any standouts. Band name made me think this was going to be more heavy metal-esque

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 23 2026

Why does every reggae start with that 4 or 5 beat drum-roll. Regardless it’s Bob Marley so it’s great for a reggae album

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jul 24 2026

This one was good, a 17 minute song that I didn’t think was tortuously long is pretty impressive

War by U2
Jul 25 2026

I’m not the biggest fan of U2 but I have to admits some of these were pretty good

London Calling by The Clash
Jul 26 2026

Imagine how good this album needs to be to get a 5 when it initially disappointed me that it didn’t have Should I Stay or Should I Go

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Jul 27 2026

This wasn’t it. Most songs feel like a 30 second loop stretched out to 6 minutes with child voices randomly interspersed. Much better electronic albums out there

Bossanova by Pixies
Jul 28 2026

Surprisingly good for a Pixies album but it is still Pixies after all…not my favorite band

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Jul 29 2026

Really enjoyed this, incredibly 80s sounding. A lot of the songs do sound very similar though

California by American Music Club
Jul 30 2026

More country sounding than I was expecting based on the name and band, but pretty good

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Jul 31 2026

Not too shabby…I guess I don’t dislike heavy metal as much as I thought I did

Elephant by The White Stripes
Aug 01 2026

White Stripes has gained my respect after I learned that they did Seven Nation Army. Still not a fan of them in general but I respect them more now

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Aug 02 2026

Wasn’t expecting this one to be this good, had some hits for sure

Faust IV by Faust
Aug 03 2026

Not super memorable but was definitely expecting worse from an album whose main song is called Krautrock

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Aug 04 2026

Yea just wasn’t a huge fan of this type of world music. Thought Miriam Makena did it much better

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Aug 05 2026

I think I would like the old Madonna better, this sounds very ethereal but not in a way I enjoy

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Aug 06 2026

Hmmm a bad rap album by a woman, I guess that’s switching it up a little from the usual bad rap album by a man

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Aug 07 2026

Really nice instrumental album, haven’t had many of these that don’t just feel like electronic white noise

Post Orgasmic Chill by Skunk Anansie
Aug 08 2026

Another strange album name and band that actually has pretty decent songs

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Aug 09 2026

Really cool concept album actually. Thought it was weird at first but really grew on me

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
Aug 10 2026

Whoever made this list really likes Portuguese music…I’ve gotten like 10+ Portuguese albums versus maybe 5 of every other non-English language combined

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Aug 11 2026

Bro this isn’t music

Solid Air by John Martyn
Aug 12 2026

Definitely the good kind of mellow album. I really enjoyed the guitar in this one

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Aug 13 2026

Was looking for the song and then realized it was the name of the Cranberries’ song, not the album

Bad Company by Bad Company
Aug 16 2026

Actually a really good rock album! Feels very similar to Foreigner (which I hope I also see at some point in this project

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Aug 17 2026

Weird that this album alternates between 2 and 9 minute songs. A little too long for me though for songs that sound so similar

Aug 18 2026

2Pac! Still don’t like rap but gets credit for being 2Pac
