Mothership Connection
ParliamentKänns som definitionen av "funk". Väldigt goa rytmer och skön musik. Dock för mycket prat för min del. Hade nog hellre haft jazzmusiken/funkmusiken utan pratat (eller med sång).

Classic British punk. A lot of the messages still ring true today. Thtat being said, the punk sound/style often isn't the most pleasant thing to listen to (as intended I guess).
While I know who Black Sabbath and Ozzy are I havent relly listened to a whole album of theirs before. Dreamer is the stand out song for me but the whole album was a good listen. FX as an instrumental song in the middle seemed a bit out of place but from what I knew about the band I guess I shouldn't be very surprised. Laguna sunrise as a later instrumental song fit the album much better in my opinion. A strong album but not something I would listen all the way through again.
Really well made Indierock album by an artist I hadn't heard about before. The songs are easy to listen to and the whole album sets a mood with the first song and gets you stuck in it for the whole album. Definitely some songs I will listen to again.
Really good album but it needs a few listens to appreciate fully I think. At least for someone like me that has english as a second language. I like the vibes and the mix of instruments in the songs. Works great even just on in the background with the chill beats.
I dont often listen to a pure piano album from start to finish very often even tho I have a few songs on different playlists. I'm not well versed in classical piano more than to say that this was a nice hour of just good music to have on in the background while reading.
Excellent soul album. The sound and feeling from the songs are pure soul. Some times in life you just want to listen to some songs like these and do nothing for an hour or five. And right now I just wanna lay back in my sofa, close my eyes and listen to Solomon Burke all day.
A mostly slow-tempo country album in the old "classical" country style. A lot of songs remind me of elvis. Pretty ok album but not my style for the most part.
I remember my dad having beach boys on LD discs so this gave me some flashbacks. Good catchy songs all through the album and the fact that some of these songs still gets added to playlists the world over is a good testament to its quality.
I have heard the name Neil Young through the years but I have never really listened to him before. The soft vibe of the album, the piano, and the harmonica all makes for a great album. I am now a Neil Young fan!
Ive been a big fan of Coldplay for years so while these songs arent new to me it was great to have a listen through the album as a whole.
This album threw me of the deep end to say the least. African music isn't something I have listened to at all (except for some Cristpher Tin songs). So this African singing with soothing background noice or pop rythms was like a whole new experience that I truly loved. Experiencing something new in ways of music doesn't happen very often so even tho I probably wont play this on repeat in the future its something I will carry with me.
I dont even know what to cassify this album as. The messages in the songs seems very punk and the time period in britain seems right for it but the sound doesnt really match that energy for me. The album as a whole is way to stranger for me. Perhaps I needed to hear it when it came out or maybe I needed to live it.
Classic album from a classic band that a lot of people have at least heard about. I've listened to it before andit has some really good songs but a lot of them are in a style that I dont really like personally. A lot of the songs feel "samey" and straight up old. The Beatles contribution to music history is great but as something to listen to in 2024 when you haven't grown up with it around you it falls flat.
An intereresting album in many ways. I understand why I have only heard one of their songs before since they have a different sound through out the album. Not my kind of music and not something I will listen to again.
Rock bands from the 70s and 80s is really hit or miss with me and this album is a miss. Usually I can find at least a few songs from every album that I like even if they wont be added to any playlists. That wasn't the case here. the songs are just to slow and repetitive.
David Bowie is great and so is this album. I have heard some songs from Bowie before (who hasn't?) but this was the first time i really listened to the songs and a whole album back to front like this and it was a great ride. Leaning back and listening to this album cured an otherwise bad day.
Having never heard of this band before I was pleasantly surprised. Many good songs and a cohesive album. Not much to say other than I really enjoyed the listen.
Old school cool. A very heavy sound with nice rythms. They switch from some kind of proto-metal in one song to a heavy blues in the next. This was an interesting listen but not something I will go back to anytime soon.
I heard this band for the first time a few days ago from this site so its still fresh in my memories. I enjoyed this album from them as well. But just as the previous album I dont have much to say other than I really enjoyed the listen. Nothing I will add to a playlist or search for in the future and at the same time nothing I would skip if it starts playing on random.
There are some songs on this album that almost feels like cassics ny now. Listning to them today I get reminded why the Prodigy was a band I never got in to.
I have never heard on Stephen Stills before this. Or so I thought before I remembered the group Crosby, Stills & Nash that I never listened to but have heard of. Knowing that I expected some kind of country and I would say that is what I got. It was a pleasant time listening to the album and it seems like a solid country album with some good ballad but not the kind of music I would listen to very often.
I have only hears one or two songs from Deep Purple before and I have to say this was ride. I like 70s and 80s rock but a lot of albums from this era were very experimental and this one is no exception. The guitar feels very familiar but the singing (if you can call it that) and the long keyboard parts is something I didn't expect from this band. After all that said, the album was a nice listen and a fun ride from start to finish.
Born in 1988 this album came out at just the right time with MTV and my almost-teens. Love the vibe of the album and most of the songs. While i like the album after this more it still have songs I love.
Never heard of this singer before. The pop sounds and occational almost bossa nova like singing makes for an album that is easy to listen to. Good album throughout.
Brimful of Asha is a song that still plays on the radio from time to time but I have never looked up Cornershop for any other song before. The album is very much what I would expect from the group that made Brimful of Asha. Easy listening songs throughout the album with some surprisers thrown in. The songs in Hindi as well as the songs with a female singer were a fun addition to the album.
While I have heard of the band I have never listened to them and now i know why. The music isn't bad but at the same time its not something that appeals to me at all. Slow pop rythms that almost put me to sleep by the second song. Not bad but not for me.
Very soothing music. A lot of good songs that makes me just want to lean back, close my eyes and listen all day long. Love it!
While the vibes and guitarr playing is great a lot of the songs are just to weird for my taste. Its fun getting introduced to music by a person I have heard about from other things (crosby, stills & Nash) but this isn't something I will listen to again.
Classic electronic music that I have listened to before and will listen to again. Not something where I would listen to their albums front to back but I do have a few song on different playlists.
Experimental rock? I don't know what to classify this album as. Its very mellow songs and I enjoyed listening to the album as a whole. Its not some thing I will listen to regularly to thought.
Classic U2 album from their earlier years filled with ani war messages throughout. All the songs have good lyrics but some are catchier than others. Not an album I will listen through again but some of the song are and will stay on playlists for the foreseeable future.
To me this seems like generic hip-hop. Nothing I haven't heard before and nothing I will search for in the future.
Indie pop? Indie rock? Experimental? I don't know what to call this music. It sure is a unique sound they have made throughout the album. While it was an experience its not something that appeals to me.
Some really classic songs on this album. I love his voice and the mellow guitar playing. Very relaxing and cozy songs. I already have a few songs from the album on playlists and always love when they come up.
Except for 2-3 of his most famous songs I've never really listened to Prince before. I don't think this is his most famous and popular album and I'm not sure if there is a correlation but a lot of the songs seems kind of meh. Its not bad in any means, its just not that good or anything that sticks out. Nothing that makes we want to come back and listen again.
While some of the beats were great this is not an album I enjoyed at all. Maybe I'm not in to hip-hop enough but I need something more when listening to the genre.
Willie Nelson to me is an older guy who shows up as a side character for a single scene in where the joke is about smoking weed in random movies. That being said I got kind off excited when this was todays album since I've never heard his music. I really liked this album. Slow country music with guitars and a really nice voice. This seems perfect to put on at home and just leave playing while reading in the evening.
I have listened to a lot of RHCP throughout the years and they have a lot of songs I really like. Not every song is my favourite on this album but the songs that are great already have their place in my playlists.
This kind of hip-hop isn't really my style. The heavy focus on lyrics over beats and melody gets lost when English isn't my first language and I can't relate to the messages in the songs. This just isn't for me.
This album was popular in my early teens so I have a lot of memories from moments and music videos on MTV from these songs. A lot of great songs that I still listen to too this day and still love. Maybe its the memories, maybe its the songs just being that good. Either way this album will be my background noise for the rest of the day on repeat. As it has many times before.
A great wind, big band, just straight up cool music group. While this isn't something I listen to every day I can't help getting dragged along with the rhythm and instruments throughout this album. Just good music the has its time and plays even today.
Smooth rhythms and great singing. The whole album is full of great R&B songs. Not much more to say, just a solid album through and through.
I remember listening to the beach boys on my dads old record player. To me its classic dance music with good rhythms and catchy lyrics. Listening today brought me back in a good way.
Its Deep Purple, I don't know what more to write. Highway Star and Smoke on the water are classics in my eyes and songs that I will always love. Great band and a great album.
I've never heard of Steve Winwood before but I really like his sound. The songs have a great rhythm that feels very 80s to me. A nice smooth listen through and through.
Nice rhythm and feeling to the songs but they feel very old in the mixing. That plus me not knowing the language and therefore the lyrics made me not like the album. Also what's up with the Philips product placement on the album?
Soulful and catchy. I don't know if this was played by ear or if they had notes but its really good.
Great groupd and great album. This came out when I was 15 and I still remember a lot of the music videos on MTV. Multiple songs are on my playlists to this day. Seeing it as todays album make me smile widely and listen through it yet again.
While I cant call it bad by any means this music just didn't resonate with me at all. Indie music is very hit and miss for me and this was a miss.
The only song I know by Simple Minds isn't on this album so I kind off expected more like that song and that is what I got in many ways. Atmospheric songs with electronic melodies. It feels like a great album to have on in the background when cooking or something like that, nothing I will listen to every day though.
Smooth and pleasant to listen to. Not my kind of genre to listen to daily but enjoyable in piecemeal.
Slow and dark. Cosy and reassuring. Soulful music that resonates with me a lot. I like this album more than I thought I would when I started the first song. Great album over all even if it doesn't fit every time and place to listen to it.
Old soulful blues(?). Whan I think about when people talk about the genre from the 50s or 60s. Nice rhythms but nothing I would listen to daily.
Very psychedelic and strange but I like it. Its easy to bob along to the songs and its easy listening for the most part.
While I have heard R.E.M plenty of times I dont think I have ever heard any song from this album. Their sound is the same as what I have heard before though. Catchy songs that contain a messages about the time when they were written.
While I usually like this kind of music this artist or at least this album didn't resonate with me at all. I can't put my finger on exactly why but I didn't enjoyed my listen through.
Great album with plenty of songs already on some of my playlists. Simply good rock music.
While sultan of swing is a great song the other on this album didn't speak to me att all. They were mostly ok but nothing I will listen to again I think.
I have heard about the band but never listened to them. Today I found out why. This wasnt an album I enjoyed at all.
THE one hit wonder band in my opinion. But this album wasnt very good in my ears. Slow and dragning lyrics, a lot of talking. A few Nice rhythms didn't fix the feeling I got from the album as a whole.
Nice rhythms through out the album but the songs didn't catch my ear and the combination with me not understanding the language made me skip a lot. Not the best sign when listening to an album.
Moody but catchy. The album balances just on the line for me. I like a few songs but can't really listen through some of the others. I'm conflicted on how to rate this but since I don't think I will listen to the songs again or add them to any playlists I can't give it a high rating.
Except for seven nation army non of the songs catch me or even seem very good. The style of the album just isn't something I enjoyed.
Some great songs on this album, Lovefool being the best. I have listen to the cardigans a fair bit since they are from Sweden so this isn't a new listen for me. Good to hear some of the songs I haven't listened to a while tho.
Really nice jazz album with classic 10+ minutes songs. The groove and feeling of the album was good. I enjoyed my listen throughout.
A classic album in the genre and some songs that I have heard throughout my life. Grunge isn't really my favorite type of music though so no high score from me.
I read that this is considered "Krautrock" a term I haven't heard before and one I probably wont see again for a long while. It was a fun time listening to the album even though a lot of the songs have really weird vibes. Strange sounds in the background, rhythm changes, and new instruments are introduced throughout. Not something I will listen to again but a fun experience anyway.
Great voice and mellow songs. I just sab ack and enjoyed. I haven't listened to Morrissey before but I probably will in the future. Great album!
Bitter sweet symphony is the first song on this album and the only one I've heard with the Verve before. While most of the album sounds similar to that first song there is something missing for me. I'm not just hooked on most of them. That being said there is still a few songs on here that I really liked. I had a nice time listening through it and will probably add a few songs to playlists.
This has a clear sound of its time. By that I mean that its music that people certainly loved at the time it was created and people who listened to it back then still have fond memories about it. I would say that for the rest of us this feel outdated. I don't really know what to class this ass, rock? Folk? something in between before the genres were what they became maybe. Perhaps this album was the inspiration that created the albums that I would call timeless? There is maybe a hint of something with the guitar riffs and the style of singing. While a nice snapshot of 1969 its not something I will listen to again.
There are some good songs on the album. Although I wished they had put in more of the slower songs, those were the best to me. Other than that this is DnB music as pure as it gets. Noce beats and a tempo that makes you want to dance. Not something I would listen to often but also not something I will turn off if it comes on. After listening to the album I looked up their other songs and they made Born Slippy, that explains why some songs (like Pearl's Girl) sounded similar to something.
Great beats and a vibe throughout the album. Not exactly the style of music I usually listen to but I really enjoyed this album.
Running up that hill has been a song I have loved for many years and the spike in popularity last year was well deserved. Other than that I don't know if I have listened to Kate Bush at all so this was something I looked forward to as I saw todays album. It was a mixed bag for me though. Some songs were slow or had strange rhythms that I didn't enjoy at all. Others were really atmospheric and I liked them a lot. So not something I would listen to every day but certainly some songs that I really enjoy.
