Reviews (page 6 of 8)

3.6 - I mean, it’s Bad Company. It’s like the Budweiser of Rock - definitely not a first choice but you always know what you’re getting and it’s pretty good if a little tired and bland.

It's OK company I guess. Somehow this album has 4 songs that would be on "classic rock" radio all the time

Boring

I remember listening to it in high school in the late 80's. Any album that could make my 1975 pinto wagon feel like a sports car gets a 3/5.

Every other song is a slog. But the half that doesn’t is awesome.

Some really nice slow jam stuff here, don't let me down is an absolute classic for sure. I'll call this a high 3

It's slower and more boring than I remember any of it being. It's like Zeppelin zapped of groove and creativity. Rock on the its gentle plod to boring before punk came along.

Pretty good

I don’t think this was a bad album - but I can’t really remember it. Which kinda speaks volumes.

Can’t Get Enough, Ready for Love (best song), The Way I Choose and Movin’ On. The title song sucks ass and is the worse song. The guitar and drums were the best part.

don't let me down

Another album I've heard *way* too many times on classic rock stations when I was a kid. It's competent. But it's so boring. Apple Music says this is "the definition of no-nonsense '70s hard rock." Great studio value. Excellent vocals. Splendid musicianship. But we're not doing anything here. This is proto-dad rock. Jurassic yacht rock. Hearing the rest of the album beyond the heavy-rotation classic rock tracks, I can confidently say that I will never seek out this album again.

basic dad rock, not bad but forgettable

Bad Company never did much for me. They're not bad, but they're just sort of boring. I somewhat enjoyed listening to this - they were definitely a talented group of guys. My favorite Bad Company-related story. Many many years ago I went to a high school dance where a band was playing made up of students. They played Feel Like Makin' Love and dedicated it to Mrs. Olds, our 70+ year old English teacher. Classic rock n' roll subversive chaos move. 3 stars.

I remember when I bought a used copy of this album in the early 80's I was slightly disappointed. I knew this "super-group" had many radio hits and were highly regarded, but it was duller and less dynamic than I hoped. It's not to say the album wasn't good, it has many memorable songs on it, but I was still underwhelmed. I always liked Mick Ralphs from his time with Mott the Hoople and he wrote the best songs on the album. Can't Get Enough is a solid rocker and I prefer the Ralph's sung, Mott version of, "Ready For Love". Movin' On was also recorded with Mott before he joined B.C. Still, this is one of Bad Company's best albums and worth having in your collection. 3.5/5

Kinda my dads blues rock band, fairly shakey singing and some decent tunes but not inspiring

Very Meh

This all seems a bit over-produced and thin. There are hints that it might not be like that: the title track, Can't get enough and (musically) Movin' on (although lyrically - ugh) all have a bit more drive and background to them. The rest just feels too pretty - the drums in particular are just too nice for an iconic hard rock album of the time. I was only peripherally aware of Bad Company - stuff that comes up on classic rock or road trip playlists. So it was interesting to listen to this. Although I wouldn't object violently to listening to it again, it was all just a bit boring and safe. I'd prefer some early Status Quo to this.

Actually pretty good!

- Never heard of Bad Company before - Pretty good but pretty much standard 70s dad rock - Better than some others I've heard though so 3* - Fav songs: Ready for Love, Seagull, Can't Get Enough

Et par gode sange, men rimelig gennemsnitligt

A decent album of classic rock songs, but not much stands out here.

Solid classic rock album. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s exactly what you think it would be.

Good old people rock?

This is really not bad, the songs are absolutely ok, but I hear nothing special. Makes me wonder why this is on the list while so few albums from the 2000s are included.

I knew quite a few of these tracks so this band had plenty of exposure. Not sure I liked this. It's very much of it's time. It's well put together but it didn't really do anything special for me.

Good rock album with some known songs

Musicalmente é fixe. Enjoyed

I have no expectations going into this. Bryant: These feel pretty quintessential 70s rock jams. It's not a bad album, a little hit or miss. Erica: This was the first album from Zeppelin's studio. It seems like a step backward from the strides Zepplin made in the genre to this. It's more bluesy and simplistic. I really like the songs' beginnings but they don't know what to do with it after that.

Good execution of the genre. Nothing too creative or noteworthy, but enjoyable for what it is.

There's been a dull, pervasive melancholy eating away at me recently. Conversley, while I listen to this album I find that there's an equally dull -- but slightly less pervasive -- rock-an-roall go-get-em have-good-sex sound. I thought this was a bit sensual: "Well, when I want to rock steady, yeah I know I got to get ready Close my eyes and let myself go"

"Can't Get Enough" and "Bad Company" are definite classics, but the rest of the album's not quite good enough to earn 4 stars. Call it 3.5.

Title track is still good, I he Rest just ok

I was thinking about the joke in Spinal Tap about turning the amp up to 11 and how the maxim “play it loud” goes unquestioned in much of rock. But Bad Company is a band comfortable with restraint. They like to turn things up to 7 or 8 and leave it there. This is a tasteful album of strong songs and excellent playing. I don’t even mind how much they rip off The Beatles on “Don’t Let Me Down” — it’s nicely done.

It's so funny to me that this band is "Bad Company", known for the song "Bad Company" off of the album "Bad Company". There's just something humorous about the idea of finding a good name and then running with it I guess. I spent so many hours and hours of my youth sitting in a room with bandmates trying to think of band names and track names and those little revelations that sometimes arise through the weed smoke and beer burps really are magical and I can see how easy it must have been for this band to just keep running with that. I've never been a big listener of this band because frankly their sound always came across as kind of cheesy and that of that classic rock generic-ness. But from the start of the first track I really did feel something... maybe it's because it is a Friday and it's nice out and Spring is just around the corner but I imagined myself being a young rock songwriter and having this release come out in my late 20's and that really made me get a sort of vicarious nostalgia hit. If I was a member of this band I would be really proud of this record. It does what you think it will do, for better or worse. It's a 3/5 for me. Like a 3.4 though; not close enough to round up to a 4.

Enjoyable classic rock

This album has definite highpoints displayed in"Can't Get Enough" and "Bad Company" but the rest of the album seems to blend. The peak of dad rock tracks can't save the snorers that are "The Way I Choose" and "Seagull". The remaining tracks on the album aren't offensive, but struggle to grab attention. At the very least, they had the sense to spread out the two standout tracks. If this album's greatest tracks were combined with the band's follow-up's best selection, they would have agenuinely had a 4 or 5 star album. Overall a dated uneven album.

Solid with nothing overwhelming one way or another.

Overall not a bad album at all. Sounds of the Doors and Tom Petty in there, bit of a bluesy vibe there too.

Proper dad rock

This is a good easy listening rock album, I like this guys voice. Reminds me of the rock bar I used to frequent in Greece where it was played daily 😊

Not Bad

Pretty ordinary hard rock album with a couple of hits, one of which has become a rock standard and a bunch of inconsequential songs to fill the album out. 3 stars

Nice to hear a bit of rock and roll after a week of blip blip "mood" albums. Very much of its time but hey, it's the rhythm and blues as it should be before the tuneless people stole the genre.

Serviceable classic rock. Not good, not great.

A good rock album, i imagine listening to it on a solo road trip. Besides that, I will probably never listen to it again. (I do admire their technique)

While not bad to me, this didn't leave much of an impact in regards to making any sort of impression. Maybe some Bad Company was what was needed in the landscape of rock and roll when this album came out and it may have succeeded in whatever goals it was looking to obtain. Favorites: Can't Get Enough, Don't Let Me Down, Bad Company, Movin' On.

Straight forward, inoffensive, if not rather boring, dad rock. All competently and appropriately played. Good enough, it just doesn't really have anything making it great. It gets a slight bump for being so short, and a bump for the classic rock radio nostalgia (how did this record get so much airplay?). 5.5/10

Surprisingly pedestrian. Punk required to sweep this sort of stuff away

chill blues rock vibes!!

Can't Get Enough: 2,5/5 Rock Steady: 3/5 Ready for Love: 2,5/5 Don't Let Me Down: 2/5 Bad Company: 3/5 The Way I Choose: 2,5/5 Movin' On: 3,5/5 Seagull: 2,5/5 Totaal 2,5/5

So polished, but not in a good way. It's like someone in the UK focus grouped how to sound like Creedence but forgot to go to Nam

Angsty rock.

Actually pretty damn good, remove one star for lack of imagination in naming.

Highlight: Bad Company

Dad rock🤟

Uncompromising rock.

3.5 Solid rock

"Can't Get Enough" is a great track. As for the rest of the album, it's ok when it picks up the pace a bit, but the majority is just too slow. Ok Company.

Thought it was fine but nothing stood out. Might listen again

More like Dad co. This is straight up 70s dad rock. Not a bad thing, but nothing too interesting here. Definitely a product of its time. Still a good listen. Classic classic rock.

Classic rock, was an enjoyable half an hour, would be great on guitar hero. Not really sure I ever need to hear it again but nice enough.

Enjoyed the sound, but a few too many tracks were on the forgettable side.

Already done this one Can’t get enough: ROCK Ready for love: sounds like Eric clapton Don’t let me down: think I know this one

Bad company by bad company on bad company written by bad company and produced by bad company... I get it in all seriousness really enjoyed this album - they have a really strong and unique sound. it reminds me a lot of something but I cant figure out what it is (its another bad company album I just checked)

It opens and closes with great songs, making this a seem truly a supergroup. The six in between passed without major circumstance, save for a Beatles cover which served only to piss me off. Middle score, because the two good tracks are really good.

Solid Blues Rock Album but not much besides that.

Luistert prima weg

Nice slow classic rock album

Geen uitschieter, maar wel een oké album

Overall a good album, classic 70s rock. Can't get enough, ready for love and the classic song Bad Company, of the album Bad Company, by the band Bad Company, were all hits.

first listen average 70's rock, remarkably short

Average hard rock band. Not a bad album, but nothing special

3.5, lyrics abit cheesy

The title track has been a go-to karaoke jam for ages. On the whole, it's solid MOR rock and/or roll.

The dads everywhere are going to love this one!!! Pretty solid rock album, I think all of the songs are pretty good.

Started out great, got boring halfway through

Favourite song: Can’t get enough Pretty good but songs all sounded quite similar

Pretty straightforward classic rock. Nothing too noteworthy or incredible, but still some nice songs. 5/10

Nice continuity with yesterday’s Mott The Hoople with the Mick Ralphs connection. A good 70s blues rock album very much Free part 2, but with a strong Led Zeppelin feel. High 3.

Worse company Cover rating: 3/5 covers like this are usually a 2/5 but I actually kind of like it

Decent and soulful. Only “classic” album on here I’ve liked so far

It wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t have a lot of fun listening to it and had no standout songs to remark on. It just floated by.

A decent classic rock album.

Not really my cup of tea but it was defenetly not bad. I enjoyed the song bad company

Some bangers on this one

Favourite song: Seagull One for karaoke: Rock Steady One for the car: Can’t Get Enough A band being called Bad Company naming an album Bad Company with a song on it called Bad Company is the type of of overkill I can get behind. 3 stars.

Listened to on 9/7/22 3.5/5 Favorite song: bad company, can’t get enough I enjoyed this album - it was really easy to listen to and some of the songs were really upbeat but no standouts

Between a 3 and 4 for me. It was fine overall.

Basic British Rock band, kinda bland

Enjoyable but very standard classic rock album. Not sure just sounds all a bit polished to me, big Dad rock vibes.

Some serious radio hits along with a bunch of decent 70s hard rock. I liked it.

No frills classic rock. Foundational, but also somewhat mundane.

Powerfully simple Easy to listen to but not much worth remembering

Decent album but somewhat forgettable. I'm starting to see the British influence on the list. Best Songs: Bad Company Worst Songs: Movin' On

me gustó!!! pero un toque no es mi estilo jeje, mis temas favs fueron the way i choose (me encantó) y seagull. del 1 al 10 le doy 7.5

If Bad Company, Seagull and Ready For Love weren't on here, this would be chucked into the abyss of bland rock albums.

One hit wonder with a few other decent tunes. I get why it's on this list, but it's not going to make my list of essentials. Best track: Bad Company

Kanskje en smule harry. Litt sånn mimring på fotballpuben.

Very solid rock album with elements of soul and blues.

It was okay but I don't remember any standout tracks.

Eh. Clean sounding well produced classic rock album. Nothing that stands out with "wow" factor for me with any specific song. 3/5

Great finding. I liked this album. Rock, hard rock, ballads, etc. It has a little bit of everything, very well executed.

Not quite sure what I think of this. A little bit overblown - despite not even being 35 minutes long, each of the tracks felt a bit longer than they needed to be. That said, other than that there's nothing bad about it, but there's not really anything that makes it stand out either. A bog standard, middle of the road 3 for me, Clive.

Gerade so 3 Sterne.

Bad company, Hey, they weren't so bad.

Never listened to Bad Company before. They do the job competently.

Not too shabby - only 8 songs, so even if you don't get along with it, it's not for long.

More like Subpar Group, am I right? Their hits are ubiquitous, and some, like "Feel Like Making Love" are classics. But they are what Bill Murray might call a medium talent. Bad Company is fine, this album is decent but nothing spectacular. If you were seeding classic rock bands like the NCAA Basketball Tournament, Bad Company would be something like a 14 seed. But hey, at least they'd make the tournament.

Pretty generic sounding hard rock. Enjoyed the record, but don't think I will be coming back to it

Some good tracks but not one from that era that I would have on heavy rotation

Another 3. It’s like not bad but just palpably samey to the other rock of the day

Solid 70s rock record. Great bluesy sounds and some big hits that I'd never heard in the context of the album.

Sounds like Free. Wiki's. Has same singer. Blues rock... solid...not really engaged with it. Bit showy and uneventful. Prob sounds better going down the motorway. Maybe not. 3

A couple of classics mixed in with some dated fillers.

I was never really into '70s guitar rock, so Bad Company was never really on my radar, although I certainly recognize a number of tracks from this album just from hearing them over the years. I liked this well enough. It was short, so I listened four times today and enjoyed it just fine. The Apple Music description ("the definition of no-nonsense '70s hard rock") is fairly apt, though maybe less on the hard side than I imagined.

I dig it

I don't like this as much as I used to, but still a classic.

legal, na manha e pa

I think if you ranked every rock song from best to worst, then selected the middle 35 minutes you'd get this album. Basic lyrics, occasional good riff. Album was saved by the vocals.

Nice rock album

Bad Company by Bad Company from the album Bad Company

Kinda Zoned out while listening

I was so innocent when this album came out. Everyone was their own kind of 70s bad ass bad company. 50 years later still a good listen but I understand the vast difference between thinking you are a bad ass and actually being one. Mea culpa

Pretty good, nothing special

My favourite track is Bad Company, from the album Bad Company, by the band Bad Company.

There are a couple of great songs on here ("Bad Company" above everything else) but it's mostly surprisingly mediocre.

Classic 70s AM radio!

If you had to come up with a reference album for 70s rock it would be this - a bit heavy, a bit hard, a bit FM. All tunes, but without a shred of originality. Guess that's what you get when you mix Free, King Crimson and Mott The Hoople. 1 and 1 and 1 make 3 here.

Enjoyed this one. Again, never heard it before but it was a nice slice of 70s rock that I'll visit again.

Plain rock music. Not bad.

Fun enough. You basically get the whole point of the songs by reading the titles :) Doesn't seem to break new ground or do anything unique, but it's very solid blues rock I'd be proud to have on any party playlist. Definitely deserves a spot on this list for the supergroup aspect. The fun they have doing this stuff with other vets definitely comes through.

I wanted to really dislike it. I'd written it off as mid-70's plodding turgid rock before I even gave it a listen. I thought I wouldn't last longer than five minutes. This is the very reason why we needed punk so desperately. But it's actually half decent. If I drove a car I can imagine putting my foot down to some of the tracks. But I ride a bike and have more soul and reggae as part of my infernal movement. But yeah, it's alright.

Classic straight ahead old timey rock music. Good times!

Classic rock is classic.

Listening to this is like eating cereal for dinner.

I got nothing. Didn't do anything for me but it's fine.

Very simple song structures and lyrics. Some parts of the album are very laid-back, which I like.

Sounds very much Cream (not suprising considering as it had members from that group). This is the warm feeling of early 70s rock. Not taxing and good for a late night session. There's a bit of Sax in there too.

“Can’t Get Enough” will always make me think of Christopher Walken dancing in Wayne’s World 2 and for that I am grateful.

On the plus side the vocals are decent and there's some good guitar playing. On the downside the songs are dull, the arrangements plod and it's basically generic blues-rock. It's not bad but it's not particularly exciting to listen to either (they probably sounded good live).

It's funny, I knew some of the songs, but had no idea they were by Bad Company.

Ihan tämmöstä chilliä 70-l rokkia. Vähän liian kansas-tieriä kyllä. Ei mitenkään ihmeellinen.

If you’re a fan of impeccably played American blues guitar rock (played by Brits no less) in the image of Boston, Journey, The Black Crowes and other such similar bands (who incidentally probably all owe a debt to Bad Company for inspiring their sound and style), then you’ll love this.

I enjoyed this. They were a great band. Their greatest hits would score higher but a solid 3* ( possibly even 4 ?)

Classic Dad rock. Enjoyable for what it was...

Bad Company had some solid jams, didn't they? Remind me. They were a good to very good band that stayed within the narrow confines of lowbrow hard rock. Still a good album. (6/10) FT: Can't Get Enough, Bad Company

Generic, better than competent, early 1970s hard rock. It's got a bit of boogie, it's got a bit of rock. Singles are fun enough. But all I can think about is Stillwater from Almost Famous. A competent band, struggling to make it in the big time (and I know Bad Company sold a metric shit-ton of records, and filled stadiums for most of the decade). But, really, is this really groundbreaking or historically noteworthy in any way?

A classic from my high school days

It's not Boston's first album, but it's got hits. Short, enjoyable.

entertaining classic rock album

Alright album, would say apart from "Bad Company" it's a fairly average. I also personally think there are covers better than the original of "Bad Company".

Tomato soup and a grilled cheese. Tools. A Friday night High School football game. Ah, Bad Company. Who pose such philosophical queries as ‘… wondering where my life is leading…’ and what ‘… keeps me from fading away,’ only to offer the answer: fucking. Which happened to be mostly what I was thinking about too, at 15, when this LP was released. No less than five out of the eight tracks on 'Bad Company' are about fucking, if you count ‘Movin’ On,’ which is technically about the stereotypical rock n’ roll nomadic lifestyle; but, fucking is certainly implied. Similarly on the title track, using the outlaw motif so popular to rockers. The final track was a bit confusing, in this context- a seagull flying free, until somebody shoots it down? I assume Paul Rodgers is really writing about himself, but I’m not sure what any of this has to do with fucking, so it shouldn’t even be on this L.P. ‘Movin’ On’ should have been the more obvious closer. With the exception of a couple of the hits repeatedly broadcast on the oldies radio station, I haven’t listened to the entire LP in quite a while. And over these many years since high school, I had forgotten two things about 'Bad Company': firstly, how many great hits it actually contained- ‘I Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love,’ ‘Rock Steady,’ ‘Ready For Love,’ ‘Bad Company,’ ‘Movin’ On.’ And secondly, how absolutely forgettable the other three clunkers are, numbers that you take advantage of, during the concert, to scoot to the bathroom before the next hit when the boys return with that particular rich, crunchy mid-70s sound for which bands like Bad Company are known and loved. The comfort food of rock. If I’m not mistaken, I believe the kids today have labelled this Dad rock. I wouldn’t disagree. This is Dad rock, and certainly not Mom. Or more accurately, Man rock. And not Millennial man, not hipster man. 70’s man, who takes ‘whatever I want, and baby I want you!’ (A disturbing and frightening thought, if taken literally.) Best experienced with a cheap, cold beer in hand, a cigarette dangling from your bottom lip, and a growing pain underneath your leather pants. So, I’m speaking exclusively to the fellas here: If you’re not ready for love (or at least aroused) by the time this one’s over, then you might be suffering from low testosterone, easily remedied by prescribed medication.

Was already in my other list.

Muy buena ondita y don't let down roll on 3

A whole album of solid if unmemorable bluesy/boogie/classic rock, the title track being a huge standout. I actually really liked both that song and the Five Finger Death Punch cover when I was a kid, and after listening to this I went back and listened to that. Woof! That song sucks!

Pretty middle of the road rock, or at least that's how it feels to me. It's alright.

I was only vaguely aware of this band. Solid 'meat and potatoes' rock

Pretty decent blues rock of the era, successor to the group Free. Several amazing radio staples, with my favorites being "Bad Company" and "Ready for Love." It's a highly polished effort with excellent teamwork between the band members. You can tell their #1 influence is The Rolling Stones, evident by the bridges in mood within the tracks and gospel in "Don't Let Me Down." The two weakest tracks were "The Way I Choose" and "Movin On." The closing track "Seagull" sounded very folk-like, and was pleasant.

Listened to this a fair few times in the car with dad. Pretty solid classic rock album.

Smells like the 70's

Not a lot of bells and whistles — just a straight up rock album.

This sounds like a big chunk of my memories of the 70s.

I liked it but it didn't really catch me completely

I hadn't heard much bad company before. This is like the music rednecks think is best for seduction. But it's missing a sexy voice.

Decent album but bit inconsistent. The best song is also the name of the band.

Eh, this was fine, but didn't really excite me. I guess it's so foundational to classic rock that it now comes across as generic? Fave track - "Bad Company" which is admittedly the only track I recognized. Maybe with more familiarity I'd grow fonder of the other tracks...

Buen disco, nada espectacular. Cultura general

not the kind of music I prefer, but pretty solid disk

Past the hits; ok. I am not a generous god today. 3.4

It was good, pretty standard classic dad-rock. Seemed like a prelude to 80s rock. Doesn't stand out as anything amazing but just good, steady, stay in your lane rock and roll.

Big sound rock band

Listenable enough but a little paint by numbers.

This was a solid classic rock album. Seems like a cross of like Jackson Browne vocals with a somewhat Boston esque sound, but a little calmer. Some decent tunes but idk why but it didnt really stand out to me.

Pub rock

Good hard rock. I grew up with quite a few of these songs. They’re not terribly innovative but there’s something to be said for their mastery of their style. Paul Rogers is an excellent vocalist

3/5. Bästa låtar: Can't Get Enough Rock Steady Don't Let Me Down

Would’ve preferred to give it a 3.5. Rounding down to a 3 instead of up to a 4, keeping in mind that there are definitely going to be some all-time rock albums further down the road.

Good classic rock album. Short and could’ve been longer. Enjoyed the hits and some other tracks were still solid. 7.6/10

Liked the guitar, would've preferred heavier drums. Could've used a bit more variation between tracks; decent vibe music, but quite monotonous as a whole. //Favs: Ready For Love

It's a pretty solid rock album honestly.

Generic 70s rock

The definition of 'Meat and 2 Potatoes' rock. Very competent, some good songs, nothing particularly interesting.

Blues rock, wasn't a fan of the voice. Forgettable

Chilled classic rock, nothing too exciting

just average to me, acceptable sound.

bonzinho

Bad Company

The good guitar part in melodies and voice

Nota:5/10

Some classic, bog-standard blues rock. I've always felt a little lackluster towards Bad Company to be honest. They just feel so generic.

talk of premature ejaculation. this album shot its load with track 1. bang average after that. not offensive just a straight down the middle average. appropriate that we got this album on a wednesday because if the rating system was what day of the week is this album, it would be a wednesday.

I gotta say I was specting more of this one. It's not bad but it's not very good either. Just well produced generic AOR

great dad album

A pretty bland rock album, really. Nothing terrible but also not very exciting.

I only got through one song, so I really can’t rate this fairly. It sounded like standard 70’s rock

Singer is pretty awesome

Going to play this for my dad to gain street cred with him.

Solid enough rock album, nothing exciting though.

Enjoyable.

Decent album but not really my thing. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood for a bit of classic rock. Preferred it to Supertramp though.

Blues classic

had radio music feel like i had heard it a bunch but never really heard it

It’s a decent rock album, but just lacks a certain passion and emotion.

Decent enough hard rock, but nothing stood out to me or grabbed my attention.

Not bad

Slower than I expected, but not bad

Saw them live opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were better than what Skynyrd has become.

Eh not bad. But feels pretty repetitive

Realz flyff/4

It's fine for a classic rock album, but nothing special.

Decent classic rock.

Kult enøff, fint å ha i bakgrunn.

Fav Song: Seagull

Perfectly fine dad rock. Something to turn on while driving across some barren part of the american countryside late at night.

Instrumentalt bra, bare litt kjedelig.

Acceptable stuff, nothing very special in my opinion.

Nothing too standout for me, but I enjoyed the title track "Bad Company"!

The album sounds like classic rock radio used to sound when I was a kid. There's a reason for this, I'm sure. Bad Company had obvious influences from Led Zeppelin to Cream to Deep Purple, but they made the sound their own.

Not bad but ultimately expected a bit more, no song really stands out or is memorable

Definitely some great tracks on here, but unfortunately much of it came across as indistinguishable 70's rock

okay background music

Toi hymyn huulille ja kuuntelin kahdesti läpi

Nice album, not my favorite but something nobody "hates"

The song Bad Company on the album Bad Company by the band Bad Company from the movie Bad Company

my attention span is very short and loads of these songs were too long and sounded the same. it wasn’t awful though.

Better than I expected. Somewhat generic, but still very good. closer to a 3.5

Instead of getting stuck parking cars at the restaurant at the end of the universe for what amounts to a fraction of eternity, this album makes me feel like I got stuck tending bar there. The same band plays every night and the lead singer tries to pick up the same chick in short shorts shooting pool with the urban cowboys. She never goes home with him, leaving him to try and entice her again tomorrow. 2 Boolean: False - some of dad’s (or grandpa’s) record collection needs to be left for the crate diggers

Nothing that great album this album. Generic rock with ok songs and ok players

Boring dad rock

Partially known. OK.

I have previously enjoyed 15 seasons of the TV Show Supernatural, so I can't hear things like this and not picture a Winchester driving an Impala down a random US highway. This despite Bad Company being British. This mostly passed me by, with very little that made it stand out to me in any way. The only real thought I had while listening was that I don't think I previously realised how few lyrics the song Can Get Enough has. It's just not very interesting to me. It should get a 1.5, but as I don't find it terrible, just boring, it's getting a: 2/5

Generic dad rock

2/5 https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/bad-company/bad-company/ Some okay songs (Bad Company with the song Bad Company on the album Bad Company; always love that), but mostly very very boring! No I gotta say that hard rock is hardly my genre, but even so this has so many slow boring fluff.

Dad rock squared, or rock for truckers

What separates Bad Company from the slew of rock bands of the 70s? Nothing

So the name of this band is Bad Company. The name of the album is Bad Company, okay this is pretty typical -- nothing unusual. But there's also a song called Bad Company?? On the album Bad Company by the band Bad Company... seriously??? Are they just advertising a lack of creativity? And that pretty much sums up the album... nothing inspiring or different to see here. This sounds like a run of the mill 70s rock band found in every basement or garage in that era that is fully committed to bland mediocrity. The musicianship is adequate, but nothing outstanding-- just enough to put this above a one star rating.

This album is great if you view it from the standards of Foreigner. Crunchy power chords seem able to fill arenas. A competent rhythm section and strong vocalist make it clear why this debut became a huge success, and I recognized nearly all of the eight songs on the record. This is hard rock 1970s corporate style. But you can’t hear the Jack Daniels bottles rolling through the aisles. This album cannot cross into guilty pleasure, because there is little fun here, nor soul. Bad Company intones everything with such seriousness you would think they were addressing pressing social and personal matters. Instead they offer cliche filled lyrics that in this day and age could come off as A.I. The limits with lyrics would not matter if the band offered an ounce of fun or humor. After all AC/DC has no Nobel level insights, but they recognize it, and lean into their limitations. Bad Company seems to really believe that they are “Bad Company” in the title track like some ominous bluesman. They come closer to Bon Jovi “Dead or Alive” John Lee Hooker. When Bad Company sticks to its hard rock sound they can produce an enjoyable head bob-fist pump song. Mick Ralphs knows how to write a good (not great) riff, and Paul Rodgers has the vocal ability to almost make you forget the banal lyrics. Unfortunately, as stated earlier, the band’s approach weakens the better songs. When they try to conjure up Stax-like soul tracks, including a horn section, they just cannot pull it off. This is a boilerplate version of soul with nothing individual to distinguish them. To me Bad Company portends even worse versions of this genre to come rather than stretching it into interesting directions like the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin. In fact their straightforward, overly serious style makes a derivative band like Aerosmith seem inventive.

Pretty middle of the road

Vaguely thought this was going to be UK ska punk. … just really American Dad Rock.

Eh.

boringg

I could not care less about this strain of blues rock. The musicianship is impressive and its clear these guys have a firm grasp on their genre, but it does absolutely nothing for me. It doesn't have the panache of a Led Zeppelin or the gusto of a Steppenwolf. Made entirely for beer belly dads and Republican recruitment videos.

Five Finger Death Punch ruined the song for me. The rest of the album was okay.

I’ve had worse company. This isn’t my stuff

I love classic 1970s arena rock but these guys somehow make it sound boring. The hit song has the same name as the band and the same name as the album, very creative!

Apple describes this as "no-nonsense" and I think that's about right. I found it uninteresting but inoffensive.

Kind of fun. Got boring after a while though.

Bad Company? More like completely forgettable company. Gottem. Bet they'll care about that anonymous zinger. Again, there's not much I can tell here other than that it was -perfectly fine-. But the flip side of that coin is that it also wasn't much to write home about. The lyrics are all about hankering after a woman, and the guitars are your general rock n' roll that you've heard a hundred times by now. If you skip this album, you're not missing out.

Fav- movin on 2/5

Straightforward to a fault. There’s not much here that challenges or surprises, it just kind of exists.

Having gone to listen to Badfinger, Bad Religion and finally realising I was meant to be listening to Bad Company, I found myself listening to a completely bog-standard 70s rock album. I don’t know whether the other Bad bands would have been any better but I know that by tomorrow I will struggle to tell you anything about this album.

Exceptionally bland and plodding for practically the whole thing. Found very little emotional connection with any of the music or lyrics and was glad when it was drawing to a close. Good musicians does not necessarily good music make.

This album is about half average white guy blues rock, with a few good songs mixed in. The title track is pretty good, as is Seagull. Can't Get Enough is just annoying. 2/5

Felt too safe for too much of it.

A high 2, competent but boring

would argue this is my usual vibe, but it didn't really hit for me

Classic 70’s guitar rock. How did this become popular? Yet I know half the songs by heart. They are pablum. And Paul Rodgers voice is pleasant when singing verse, but when trying to belt out the chorus it cracks… c’mon man!

Rock générique fait par du AI de 1974.

Nothing stands out. It was okay.

You know…that song “Bad Company” from the album Bad Company by the band Bad Company.

Very capably played and recorded blues/hard rock but incredibly generic and boring.

If every song we’re like the title track, I will give it four or five stars

Bog standard blue's rock really. Not my thing but it was short. It seems to be listed as hard rock but it was quite peaceful. Mid 2

Never got the appeal This "super group" fails to equal much less surpass the sum of it parts

This was so dull

Aside from Can't Get Enough, a reasonable earworm, this is all mediocre blues interpretations without any spark or invention. No idea why this album was so popular back in the day.

Nothing that truly stuck out separate then the frequent albums in similar category.

I listened to the whole album, which I never thought I would get that far. I'm not sure why this album made the list. IMHO, it was mid at best.

Meh. This is rock music that is tame. Too polished, not enough bite. The tunes aren't bad, but they're not exciting.

Plodding, uninspiring rock. This band called itself a supergroup. This is so mid, it's invisible. Nothing at all to redeem the blandness of this.
