Great listen.

Great guitar. Enjoyable listen, but not an everyday album for me.

Why's this guy yelling at me!!? Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of these guys, but Back In Black is a hell of a rocking tune. This gets a 4.

➖For an AC/DC album it’s actually only decent ➕a decent AC/DC album still stands mile-high above the rest

6,8/10 3. What Do You Do For Money Honey - хорошо перетекает из прошлого трека! Фраза "Givin the dog a bone" прилипчивая. 7/10 5. Let Me Put My Love Into You - что-то чуть менее раздалбывающее и чуть более чилловое. 7,1/10 6. Back In Black - заглавный трек альбома. 10/10 7. You Shook Me All Night Long - весь альбом заставляет двигаться. 6/10 8. Have a Drink on Me - звучит поинтереснее предыдущего. 7/10 10. Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution - мне нравится текст!

Legendary

Honestly didn't think I'd enjoy this that much as I'm not a huge fan of Brian Johnsons vocals but it's a banger of a rock album. Makes me want to watch School of Rock and makes me nostalgic for a time I never experienced!

Supi dupi

This is the party album for outdoor summer keggers. It's loud and raucous and perfect for a night of drunken revelry.

Good album with some classic bangers. Songs all pretty similar, growls/whiny voice of lead singer is a bit grating

it is the AC/DC we all love. clasic album. for someone who likes rock etc would love this album.

nice bells and riff. It’s very iconic. Also a formula, a bit repetitive. But fun and the songs are not too long.

Timeless, fun and solid. AC/DC seldom disappoints.

Cracker Barrel this quarter.

Great album. 4/5

The best album of AC/DC in my opinion.

It's a classic album

104/1001 AC/DC - Back In Black Heard before? ✅ Revisit? ✅ This is pure nostalgia for me today! I played this and Highway To Hell to death as a young teenager, so have plenty of fond memories of the time. More than anything this is just a fun record and showed that Brian Johnson could step up and fill Bon Scott's shoes after his unfortunate passing.

An obvious classic. It married a hard rock sound, with actual tunes and manages to have fun with it at the same time. The light and shade means that you can actually recognise and enjoy specific tunes and the voice is fun without being grating.

Lots of bangers. Great vocals.

It takes real talent to write a whole album of songs in only two(ish) keys that's this good. AC/DC make up for only knowing a handful of basic chords by producing some of the biggest, boldest riffs known to man. What they lack in diversity of musical palette or depth of lyrics they make up for in sheer energy. Banger after banger. If they had been able to include a single interesting chord change this would be a 5 star album.

Great album.

Rock classic. They have the formula, they use it, and they do so as best as it can be done. The riffs are bombproof. The hooks enormous. Not a ton of range, but a blast to listen to.

Hard to imagine a better opening song than “Hell’s Bells.” I’m teaching Macbeth right now, and it would play perfectly in the Porter scene! The album is tight and rocking (of course). I’m no AC/DC fan but considered giving it a 5.

Quite the solid hard-rock album with several hits. Lyrics ain't much, and some songs sound similar, but hey, it definitely works. 8/10

Classic rock at it's best

Lots of hits

Just a really solid, iconic record all around. Super fun, tightly packed. Every time I listen to AC/DC I have to remind myself that it’s not Jack Black singing

Is this a bit of a safe pick? Sure. Do I care? Not at all. I'm fully willing to admit that I have quite the soft spot for "basic dad rock," and AC/DC might be the epitome of "basic dad rock." Back in Black is basically just 10 straight songs of rock and roll and that's really all it needs to be. Of course, there are interesting things to discuss regarding this album. For one, there's the history. The last AC/DC album I discussed, Highway to Hell, was their last album with their original vocalist, Bon Scott. Well, after his death, the band recruited Brian Johnson to sing from that point on, starting with this album here, Back in Black. I liked Bon Scott's vocals well enough on Highway, but I do prefer Brian as a vocalist myself. Yeah it's kind of funny to imagine these songs as Toad from the Mario games instead, but I think Brian's voice fits the vibe this band needs. The band may effectively have one style of song, but they play that style really well. Something something "one kick 10000 times." You get the idea. The riffs on display here are strong. I mean, there's a reason why songs like the title track and "You Shook Me All Night Long" are as iconic as they are. It's because they're good songs. The energy here is strong, and that's commendable. The album is a little repetitive, but there are stand out moments. Obviously, the two songs I mentioned earlier are classics, and "Hells Bells" is actually a really cool opener that serves as a fitting tribute to Bon Scott. That's neat. The writing could've aged better, but it could've aged a lot worse. The pacing is perfect for the album. This album knows what it wants to be, lives the life it needs to, and sells 50 million copies doing it. Back in Black is really good at being the album it needs to be. 4/5. I'm 2/3s of the way done now!

8.20, työmatka, koss, qobuz klassikko se on

Dewey finn would be proud. Lot of ac-dc hits sounding exactly like ac-dc.

Klassiker.

rock. energy. party.

This is the album that I measure all other hard rock albums against. Every song has something on it.

Let us Rock !

Made me feel butch

It’s classic. Not my music taste but it can’t be denied.

Timeless rock album with 3 classics, needs to be considered one of their best if not their best album

Not a huge AC DC guy. It’s kinda loud and abrasive. That being said, I can’t knock their musical chops and the uniqueness of the vocals. There are a few popular anthems on this album that stand out, primarily due to the guitar and bass riffs imo. Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night Long, in particular. The part of the album between Hells Bells and Back in Black kinda just sounds the same. Then the album gets good with some really great guitar riffs. If you need to run through a brick wall, queuing up this album might help. Ending on Rock and Roll is Noise Pollution is incredibly hard - bonus points. Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but closer to 4.

This album contains a firework of guitar-riffs from start to finish plus a bunch of their greatest hits. A few weaker numbers cost them the five stars for me. 4,5

One hell of a song. So good they recorded it ten times and called it an album! I kid. Kind of. Simple is just better sometimes.

Meh... I don't really care hia voice

I listened to this while running, and it made me feel like the focus of a training sequence in a shitty movie. That was so much fun I've just got to give a positive review

I really liked this! Only was familiar with the classic hits off this album but I would definitely listen again.

Big memorable riffs, fun listen

AC/DC rock! Maybe their music is sometimes a bit samey, but who cares, it still makes me wanna run a marathon and get laid.

Great album

I mean, it’s classic Acca Dacca! Like this is quintessential Australian rock and it still goes so hard. The riffs (like Back in Black) are unbelievably iconic. My only reservation is that some of the lyrical content (like Giving the Dog a Bone and Let Me Put My Love Into You) is pretty damn nasty. (4.5 stars)

Hell yeahhhhhhhhhhhh 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Album is a classic Favourite songs Hells Bells, Back in Black and Rock n Roll ain't noise pollution

A classic. Nothing new or surprising here because I've heard all of these songs a million times but still good.

Classic

Rock and roll baby!

Absolute banger. Most bands would fold after losing their lead vocalist, AC/DC came back with this

pretty good

No one out there sounds like AC/DC, and this album is so full of loud, raucous hits, it's sort of crazy. This is the gold standard of hard rock. Solid.

Took at 2 hour bike ride yesterday (nbd) but started with Arhitecture and Morality, then Brothers and closed with Back in Black. For the last album I felt like I could bike 1000 miles at 100 mph. ROCKING out. Fun as fuck. I think I prefer Bon Scotts voice and general vibe, but these may be AC/DC's best all around songs. They have ONE speed and its rockin. How do they lose their singer then sell 50M records? Was Johnson contributing significantly to the song writing?

I don’t think I’ve ever turned down an AC/DC song. There’s a quote about writing that I love that it something like ‘talent is being able to be versatile, but true genius can only be itself’ (not, i searchdd for this online and can’t find it anywhere, maybe someone just said it to me once in conversation, who knows). Like Hemingway, like Pynchon, like Berhnard, Ac/dc has only one style, but by limiting them, this style makes them singular. Fond memories of Sean and I covering ‘you shook me all night long’ as 12 year old virgins at a church sponsored battle of the bands.

A little one note but it’s a damn good note.

Rock 'n Roll at its finest! Every song on this album is a hit, and for good reason.

Klasyk. 7.5/10

I love their energy, but why do all the songs sound the same?

Album No. 0020 on my list. Finally an album that I've completely known before it came up here! This is of course a classic and one most important and best-selling albums of all time. It has some iconic songs on it ("Hells Bells", "Back in Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long") as well as my personal AC/DC favorite ("Shoot to Thrill"). Great, straightforward sound, classic AC/DC tunes and I indeed like Brian Johnson better than Bon Scott as AC/DC's singer. That being said, there are not many outstanding songs there beyond the ones that I've already mentioned. No bad ones, not at all, but as always with AC/CD: they have a certain recipe. So all in all - great album, but few incredible songs. 4/5 stars!

4/5 this is the hardest shit ever made and now it's dentist music

good timing for this one

Like Led Zeppelin from concentrate… really great stuff. Not all amazing songs but definitely some all timers. 4.5

4/5. This is a mostly fantastic rock album. I remember being younger and completely rejecting this because it was too "radio-friendly" or "simple." The riffs go so hard and although Johnson's vocals can be a little grating at times, there is a punk sensibility to it that kind of bypasses the need to care. The main downside is the very aged (and let's be real, not great for the time either) lyrics that go way over the line of what is okay to sing about. It is very un-punk to even joke about disrespecting consent and some of the lyrics are not sex-positive, just kind of gross, there is a difference. Glad the hits are mostly okay, even the line "She told me to come but I was already there" in Shook Me All Night is hilarious and the type of lyrics that hold up because it's a self-roast. The guitar solos and riffs truly save some of these songs. Either way, I do think this is a necessary listen but can't say it's my favorite, still a great front to back for the most part and deserves higher than average score. Best Song: Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Hells Bells

In the world of iconic rock albums, this is certainly near the top. While you know this album as AC/DCs explosive big release, don't forget, this was the 1st release after the loss of their legendary lead singer, Bon Scott. To have this album be the 1st with a brand new singer is incredible. The tolling of the bell at the beginning of the album is the perfect start to this classic rock ball-breaker of an album. Rather than focus on the songs everyone (should) knows by heart (almost 2 BILLION listens on Spotify for Back and Black and You Shook Me), try Shoot to Thrill, Have a Drink on Me and Shake a Leg for incredible guitar licks and epic arrangements that you won't forget. Long live ACDC and Angus Young. Nobody did what they do better than them.

Loved it! Big AC/DC fan.

This album has stayed with me for years.

A lot of thier songs sound so similar, I've forgotten. Still good

Let Me Put My Love Into You

Actually amazing. I can see how innovative It was in its time and honestly, It has aged like fine wine. Some weak points aside (Givin The Dog A Bone was not that good tbh), its an amazing record. 85/100 in my records

good album

Another band with a lead singer with a silly/ distinct voice. I like this album a lot more than I thought i would, but his voice is so cartoonish!! The opening bells sound was definitely sampled by Daft Punk,

Enjoyed this quite a lot. Feels like it almost there musically but not quite perfect. Potentially could be criticised for being rather samey but most albums seem to be in this bracket.

I really enjoy this, catchy songs and riffs and some fun guitar solos. His voice does start to grate after a while though

85% Best: Hells Bells; Shoot to Thrill; Back In Black; You Shook Me All Night Long Must-Hear? I mean, this is Hard Rock 101. Sure

7/10…hard rock

The first one on the list that i recognized and have heard a few of the songs! Honestly an iconic album!! Golden classic rock! Pumped me up and I always can appreciate the instrumentals in an 80s rock song!

Good album. Enjoyable all the way through although a couple of songs were a bit muddy on the vocals. But anything that starts with hells bells is going to be good.

Although they are all pretty similar, there’s too many bangers too ignore.

🤘 Once again, not my usual but I get it.

Classic album, but not really what I like

AC/DC are like that factory employee that comes to work regularly, does a good job, is consistently producing quality materials, but I really wouldn't want to have to watch him work all the time. If I owned the factory, I would walk the floor and occasionally stop to see that he is still doing the same quality work, and then move on to other more important things. With that said, this was sort of the first day on the job for AC/DC with the new singer and man did they start off with a bang, or really more of a bong... or series of bongs. "Hell's Bells" with that slow churning but escalating guitar riff just might be the best hard rock opening tune to any album ever. I remember dropping the needle on this bad boy (yes, I am old) and holy shit...

Real rock hard with your cock hard music

Same as it ever was, which is fantastic!

Cons: they sound the same every album Pros: they sound the same every album

Love it 4/5

Gives me flashbacks of being 14/15 and trying to learn Back in Black on guitar. Good energy album.

Great heavy rock album. No complaints, no skips.

could i write poetry to this? y

Obviously a Classic. We all know the story. The hits have all been played ad nauseum on Classic Rock radio to the point that we know all the words and can air guitar the riffs with remarkable accuracy, whether we like it or not. Known neither for their breadth or depth, AC/DC is instantly recognizable as an unchanging, unsubtle, unstoppable force. My preference leans toward the earlier Bon Scott-fronted material (the "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" album in particular), but it really doesn't matter. AC/DC is AC/DC and always will be nothing more or less than AC/DC.

I had to have been in the right mood, because this hit suuuuper hard

So I'm a big Bon Scott AC/DC fan. Loved pretty much every album that they put out with Bon. So, when I first heard You Shook Me All Night Long, I -KNEW- it was AC/DC and it sounded like AC/DC, but the lead singer wasn't Bon and it took me a while to really warm up to Brian Johnson. Since I've gotten a bit older and more mature with my music, I've grown to appreciate Brian Johnson as lead singer for AC/DC and basically they wouldn't have been a very good band without him. I like the album, but none of Johnson's vocal riffs will ever come close to Bon's ability. Sorry, not sorry. Also, this is what started the whole, "Every AC/DC album sounds alike" trend. And, I can't disagree. It's got some bangers for sure though, and I enjoy hearing "You Shook Me All Night Long" on the bar jukebox once a week, maybe more. 3.55/5 stars = 4 on this scale.

As dad rock goes, this is about as good as it gets

Wouw.. A super album, and a rare ocassion where continuing with a new lead singer is possible. Although Bon Scott was iconic, Brian Johnson is delivering strong vocals, and that is on top of some of AC/DCs best tunes. Epic!

1. Hells Bells - 10 Great sound. Guitar sounds amazing, including the solo in the bridge which is just excellent. The intertwined percussions on the drums sounds excellent. The lyrics are words you'd absolutely belt out along to when listening. Outstanding opening track. 2. Shoot to Thrill - 9 Another great sound. Bridge is really weak on the track but the opening 2-3 minutes are freaking excellent. The lyrics in the chorus is what really carries the track, along with the phenomenal drums. Guitar in the outro is another highlight. 3. What Do You Do For Money Honey - 9 Verses are great on this track. More great guitar and drum sound that encompasses what classic rock is. Solo in the bridge is the best of the 3 tracks so far. 4. Giving The Dog A Bone - 4 Guitar and drums are great but the track is lyrically way way too repetitive and completely uninspiring. 5. Let Me Put My Love Into You - 8 The choruses are alright but it's another exquisite guitar solo in the bridge. Enjoy the first verse a lot as well. Overall a decent song. 6. Back in Black - 11 Normally, I would penalize a song for being this repetitive but this is such a classic and the rifs, the solos, the drums are so legendary and iconic. It's just an all-time great track. 7. You Shook Me All Night Long - 10 Great verses and an even better sing-a-long classic of a chorus. Guitar sounds amazing between the lines of the choruses. Drums sound brilliant with the tempo they upkeep. Solo again in the bridge is one of the best on the album. 8. Have A Drink On Me - 10 Guitar sounds amazing in the intro and the build up is just sublime. The first verse is particularly enjoyable as well. Overall, a great track. 9. Shake A Leg - 8 Instrumentally I really enjoy this take but lyrically I find it a bit of a pass over track. It's not anything phenomenal. It's a good track if you like AC/DC's sound and you can enjoy it for that, but outside of that it's just another track on the album. 10. Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution - 7 It's got a great ending and I love the message of the song. Instrumentally it's okay. Lyrically it's a big average is all. Certainly not the best thing on the album but not a bad track to end it on either. Average Rating: 7.80 Adjusted to a 5-Point Scale: 3.90 Rounded Up: 4 Stars

This was pretty good! Classic for sure. I only saved 2 songs so 4/5 stars it is.

✊🏻👻😈🧟‍♂️👯‍♂️🕴🏻💅🏻👅👹☠️💀

the most classic of classic rock

I'm supposed to rate this highly as an Australian, but I always found this AC/DC record to be extremely overrated. Highway to Hell is their magnum opus in my eyes, despite this record being immensely more popular. What I did appreciate about this record is the deep cuts. I found the non-hits to be the best parts of this album. Maybe that's because I've heard to death every hit from this record that I generally just don't want to listen to them anymore. Back In Black ESPECIALLY. Let Me Put My Love Into You was definitely a highlight here, even though I'm pretty sure the song is about cum. Anyways, this album is still really good & still a classic, I just don't think it's nearly on the same level as Highway To Hell. Really glad to see both albums get some appreciation on here though. Favourites: Let Me Put My Spunk Into You, Shake A Leg

AC/DC’s first album following the death of Bon Scott and in my opinion, is the groups best showcase in their style of exhilaratingly stupid Hard Rock which has blessed the speakers of Makita bluetooth site radios across Australia for over 4 decades. I would say my biggest fault with the album isn’t it being front or back loaded, the first two thirds of the album are actually pretty well spread out. but rather that the last few songs just aren’t up to snuff with the rest of the album, outside of review purposes I don’t think I’d be too interested in listening past you shook me all night long.

Tricky for me to review this with ACDC nostalgia goggles. I learned how to play guitar with several songs from this album when I was young. I bought their greatest hits CD, and every track from it has been seared into my memory. I’m still fond of them, but I don’t listen to them often anymore and some of their songs are quite corny to me now. The lyrics can be too repetitive within the songs themselves. Solid guitar work throughout. All of the instrumentals are on point. Brian Johnson is about as good a replacement lead singer gets, and I like his vocal talent on this album. Have a drink on me was probably the best track I hadn’t heard before. Wall to wall dudes rock songs Highlights: Hells Bells, Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black

ACDC are a band you can rate the albums of based on proportion of hit tracks. Back in Black has a solid 5/10 recognisable tracks, and the filler is listenable. The Young’s always put in a solid effort on the instrumentals, and seeing as this was their first showing since Bon Scott went out like a true blue Australian HERO, Brian Johnson does a good job stepping into those vomit speckled shoes.

A seminal album by any measure. Its only weakness is that so many of the tracks have been overplayed to the point they’ve almost become parodies of themselves. Which, I guess, is one proof of excellence.

Rock and roll. Always recognizable. Fun ride today!

Need to be in the right mood for it, as it is ACDC but still pretty good.

It doesn't matter how many times I listen to this album, I will always be surprised when I remember that Shake a Leg exists (right before I skip it)

Repetitive and I don't like his voice, BUT it accomplishes what it should: \m/\m/

Classic

I got Back in Black on the 4th of July. These Australians made the most American freakin’ album of all time. No more appropriate album exists for this day.

Milestone log 5: Day 500! WOO! Almost at the halfway point! I love music so much, this is really a gift to humanity. I recently got the book for my birthday, it's a pretty good book but the commentary seems like it's lacking depth a bit. I will make it to 1089... wonder if another book is on the horizon?

Another all timer! 4 stars. because the lyrics range from sketchy to dated.

pas mal

Another classic and maybe unsurprisingly the thirstiest album I’ve ever listened to (and I’ve listened to most of the ZZ Top catalog).

If humans went into heat, this is what they would listen to

Back In Black is an absolute classic. Hells Bells, Shoot to Trill, the title track are legendary rock albums that will be played in arena until the end of time. An impressive achievement coming off the heels of the death of their previous lead singer. An unpopular opinion is that I do think there is filler in the middle of album before closing with one of my favourite songs ever, Rock n’ Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution, something I’ve been trying to explain to my girlfriend for 5 years. 8.4/10

Iconic

Do a lot of AC/DC songs sound similar? Yeah. Does it matter when they often sound like bangers? Sometimes. Are their multiple incredible hits on here? Hell yeah.

Good album

Very solid rock album with straight bangers throughout. Does get a bit repetitive but we move.

Used to sound really hard and edgy when I was young but now seems very mainstream! Great album though even if it suffers a bit from overplaying especially here in Australia.

No memory of this concert in 1996 in Austin

Classic 🤘

The greatest collection of thinly-veiled metaphors ever put to vinyl! This is an essential album in the world of hard rock and there aren't many records that embody denim jackets and warm beers standing next to your Camaro than this one. Let's be real...is there a greater rock groove than on the title track? With this full listen, much of it outside of the megahits doesn't stand up like it used to, but still very deserving to be on the 1,001 list.

Silly fun.

Like Metallica this album was like yeah ive absolutely heard all this before. Liked it better than Metallica though!

This one is a bit like Green Onions by Booker T & The 3.0 AVGs but maybe a step better in that yep it’s a classic rock record through and through. I’m sure every song is great. But still, the title track is the main one I actually jump to and I wouldn’t mind if the 9 other songs were deleted and Back In Black was on here 10 times such is the awesomeness of it. Low 4 because at least it generally rocks even if a bit bleh.

Great, classic album. Giving it 4.5*, but can't quite round up. Brian Johnson's vocals are grating to me for a whole album, even though he's great at singing that way. Also, similar comment for the rest of the album musically: if you like it, you'll get plenty of it, but it's all fairly similar. Still, lots of classics that really do deserve to be called classic.

So much energy and heart! There's no nuance or subtlety, of course, but you don't always need them, especially with rock and roll!

Solid. Straight up rock AC/DC style.

Quality hard rock. Nothing fancy but very reliable

As much as this album is a sort of rebirth following the great and tragic loss of their previous lead singer Bon Scott and it is arguably their last truly great album (not that the ones that followed are bad by any measure). This album is pure fun and what astounds me the most is their classic groove that many have unsuccessfully tried to emulate. It is here in full glory alongside the unique and spicy guitar work by the Young brothers. The lyrics are a bit cringe at times but with the album like this, it may even work in its favor. Brian Johnson is young and ferocious here and while he lacks some of Bon's personality and attitude, he perfectly assumes his spot without being the exact carbon copy.

Undeniably catchy with some iconic songs but it becomes a bit samey. Big, loud and basic but it works. Music made for Roadtrip Action-Comedy movies. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.

Banger after banger after banger

Surprisingly enjoyed this. I thought it would be repetitive but I see why it’s one of the best albums of all time

Satisfying rock music and catchy songs, the lesser-known tracks are still fun too

AC/DC, great fun, good music, high-energy.

Shout out to Jack Black for putting me on AC/DC when I was a kid. This album was on repeat in my elementary days and really expanded my view of rock music.

I had Tom Waits yesterday, and ACDC have basically the opposite thing to him, I don't think from a technical standpoint they're very good. Songs are really formulaic and in many regards quite samey. However, it somehow just still works and kicks so much ass you just don't care. Fun listen.

I enjoyed it, loved the bangers more than the complete album. I can definitely see why it’s so popular.

The fact that they came out with this after Bon Scott died with a new lead singer is amazing in itself. Relentlessly rocky, noisy, simple but standing up to time. 4.5/5

hells bells isch halt ikonisch, gute lied S ZWEITMEISTVERCHAUFTE ALBUM givin the dawg a bone ohh stimmt let me put my love into you (gaanz konische titel) het sooo e geili gitarre back in black kenntmer au megaa YEAH YOUUUU SHOOJ ME AAAALL NIGHT LONG definitig eis vo ihrne beste lieder joo de rest isch für mich rifach guete hardrock, was mier eifach nöd megaaaa entspricht es 4i hets aber verdient, au wenn ich glauub highway to hell glaub lieber gha han

Classic but only like the main hits, 3.5/5

I never liked AC/DC, but let's give them a fair chance. Ok wow this is incredible. It simply rocks. So much energy. The vocals suck but oh well. Great hard rock album. Four stars.

you know its funny. I used to hate rap for just talk about music, sex and drugs then I saw the titles of these songs. my bad guys my bad

Straight forward rock. At it's best it has a nice groove. At it's worst it gets a bit stale/slow

Très bon

Classic album. Don’t listen to AC/DC frankly at all anymore, but they were one of the first bands I enjoyed and helped me branch into more rock and metal music.

I like AC/DC. I might even say I really like AC/DC. This album is one of their best. But I'll never give AC/DC a 5/5. Because I legitimately can't tell which song I'm listening to if I get dropped into the middle of one. I'm not going to say they all sound the same. But they've got about 3 motifs.

Not mind blowing in any way but makes me go 🤘

4,5 - Wyroznienia dla: You shook me all nigh long best

Classic. Always makes me smile. Not my favorite genre, but if I’m going to listen this is the album I pick.

Surprised to see that a lot of folks don't seem to like AC/DC here. Sure a lot of their songs sound the same, but you can't deny these guys rock and this album in particular holds a good amount of bangers. Is it perfect? no, but it's still very enjoyable.

This is a really good album with some really great, timeless songs. Hells Bells, Back In Black, and You Shook Me All Night Long are all timeless, and the other tracks are good too.

It’s AC/DC monotonous sometimes but energetic enough to make you like it

A classic, one of the first records I ever bought. I think the standout tracks for me are probably "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Let Me Put My Love Into You"

Good fun!

Man, we’ve got to blast this one at full volume! It’s an absolute favorite. I went to an AC/DC concert last year in Bratislava—no need to say more. Hell’s Bells, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long… total classics. I nearly started singing along to the whole album out loud in a pub while listening to it on my headphones.

Volevo odiare ma… in realtà va abbastanza duro

This didnt save my review :( Anyways, I tried not to feed into the hype but the hype was pretty valid. Got me through a very long night of work so kudos to the folks on over at AC/DC

As far as AC/DC albums go, one of the best. As far as albums in general go, one of the best

What an album! Have heard these tracks independently from each other but back to back was exhilarating and intense. I’ll save it for special occasions or when I just need to get some anger out. Brilliant writing and musicianship

Even though I’m not much of a hard rock guy this album is kinda undeniable. A handful of classic songs. Plus a propulsive drive that doesn’t overstay its welcome. 4/5

Hells Bells, Shoot to Thrill, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long. Say no more. 🤘🏻

I had this album when I was 15, it got a fair amount of play with me. I almost didn’t bother re-listening and just gave it a three for nostalgia’s sake. No one needs to hear You Shook Me All Night Long for the millionth time, but also maybe I was afraid. Afraid that I would enjoy a band considered incredibly corny by todays music snob standards. But our vice president killed the holy father yesterday and I decided a trip down memory lane to a simpler time would be good for me. This is a 4, I don’t care. It’s fun, great production. Good time had by all.

I've heard all of these songs a bunch of times, but it doesn't stop them from rocking. So many hits on just this album, must be a 4/5

If I saw this in a bin at a record store for a reasonable price, I’d pick it up, and I’d consider my AC/DC collection complete. I know it’s a great record, but I don’t see myself spinning it anytime soon, and if I do I’ll probably be shit-faced on Aussie beer or something.

Dope album front to back. I can't believe I considered this group "dad rock for boomers" when I was younger.

The opening to Hells Bells is iconic. It's such a killer opener followed by Shoot To Thrill. There are some other songs on here that are classics like Back In Black and Shook Me All Night Long (I don't really like this song personally, but you do hear it everywhere). Even with all these songs packed in this short album (40 minutes), there's just something about AC/DC that just felt generic to me. They are obviously good and have plenty of classic songs, but I don't put them in the upper echelon of other rock bands (your Zeppelins, your Floyds, your Metallicas, etc.). You do know what you're getting with AC/DC and they are very good at that one thing, but it would be nice if there was a little more variety between the songs which all kind of blend together. I would score this as a high 4. I definitely came close to a 5 here, but like I said, I don't think comes near some of the other classic rock albums I would consider a 5.

4 stars. Solid listen Back In Black brings me back to high school. Felt like kickass rock back then.

Some absolute classics on this album by ACDC. Just straight up hard hitting rock and roll. Shook Me All Night may be the most overplayed song on the radio, so that's my only problem with it.

This album has some classics in Hells Bells, Back In Black, and You Shook Me All Night Long. First album after their original singer died. Crazy how well of a transition that was, even though I think Brian Johnsons vocals can get pretty weird and cartoonish at times. I personally prefer Bon Scott, but this is still a solid album I was rocking to.

Absolute Classic! Iron Man LOL

pretty fire, i like the power chord riffs

These guys are from Australia and they call them WHAT?!

The first of AC/DC's really really big albums, and the last of their really really great ones. Polished, tightened, nailed down and blasted out - a superb ambassador for rock. Compared to the last couple of Bon Scott albums, there's a bit more meat to these songs with beefier production and Brian Johnson's more muscular vocals evolving from the fizz and crackle on earlier records. Angus is on top top form, distilling the wildness of his solos up til now into his most musical and composed work - memorable, singable guitar solos with hooks that elevate their songs. This is one of the albums that really got me into rock, so I can only ever love it. Was considering giving this a 5, but it misses some of the magic from Highway To Hell - the best tracks are on that level, but a couple of them fall short. Still great, though. Favourite tracks: Hells Bells, Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Shoot To Thrill, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, What Do You Do For Money

Much better than Coldplay.

All the regular complaints about AC/DC apply to this, but meh the songs are fun.

This album makes me nut.

Great album. Stand out songs of course are Hells Bells, Back in Black, and You Shook Me All Night Long. Other than that, I wouldn't say there were any hidden gems here. It's all quite standard hard rock. None of it bad but I think they should have spaced out the latter two a little because the last 3 songs feel like an anticlimax after two legendary songs in a row. It's not quite a 5, but it's close.

AC/DC is always a fun listen, and there are some real bangers on here. However, it does get pretty repetitive when you listen to a full album. I still loved it though.

Does angus ever change his tuning? Does he need to? 5 stars for shook me but taking one off for the smutty innuendo.

The hits hit the deep tracks are okay

Already listened to this, classic 4.5/5

Riffs. For. Days. Docked a star for being rape.

Possibly the greatest rebound from tragedy album ever in rock n roll history. It's a timeless hard rock classic. 4/5 Album 14/1001

All the songs sound the same. And this is in no way a criticism.

It's a classic. I'm a little surprised and kind of pleased that an album like this, which is clearly hard rock, is one of the top selling albums of all time. It has 4 major hits and a bunch of other songs are are solid.

Classic groove( just drives), it's lively and moves your hips. A lot of songs feel the same, the hits are great but other half of the album feel like 1 song.

I feel kind of evil for giving this less than a five. Obviously it’s very popular and iconic, but maybe not my thing. The testosterone was overwhelming at times and it felt a little bit repetitive. However, still several really good/fun/catchy songs.

This album holds a special place in my heart. 42 minutes of pure rock and roll. It’s a classic for a reason. Not super cohesive of an album but every song individually rocks. Full of hits but even the lesser known ones are as good as anything on the album.

A good ass listen. I wasn’t expecting much i knew AC/DC before this and personally didn’t rly like em but after listening too this I’m pleasantly surprised. A good way of me getting into more heavier genres with this being a Hard Rock band which I rly liked. Now there were a few songs which got annoying with the repetitive lyrics and the lead singers voice BUT that rly is the only flaw to this whole thing. And this being a Aussie band makes it x10 better feeling more close to home. Crazy guitar solos which I usually don’t like so hopefully this album would’ve changed my mind on that. Will be returning to this album making it an 8.8/10 4.4/5

Love this album

AC/DC is a guilty pleasure of mine. There isn't much depth, all the songs sound pretty similar, but when you just wanna rock out they're great.

It was good

Everything that sucks about Aerosmith is why this rocks. There's not enough variety on this album to warrant full marks, but it's such a good time, with at least 4 bonafide hard rock classics. By that metric this gets 4 Stars

Hells Bells Shoot to Thrill Back in Black You Shook Me All Night Long Have a Drink on Me Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution

AC/DC rocks pretty good. But then again they played the same song 10 times, so they should be good at it.

Rock and roll

Nostalgic as I remember hearing it my dad's garage over and over and over again.

Solid album, this is what hard rock is all about, no bullshit energy and riffs

Classic album, has some great songs.

Classic for a reason

Still sounds great. I don't often listen to AC/DC these days but this album scratches the itch when I need some down & dirty rock. Many people counted AD/DC as done when Bon Scott tragically died but the boys found a more than adequate replacement in Brian Johnson. Great comeback album

Cliche? maybe but damn they pack a lot of hits on one album with only 3 chords

So much fun. Almost a 5 star - the opening riffs are incredible

This one has been with me awhile. It’s one of the first albums I connected with as a guitarist back in middle school, one of the first I listened to when I started running after college, and still a go-to pick for my turntable today. The groove has always been what pulls me in.

Classic. Enjoyed this more than Guns N Roses, that’s for sure.

Is this AC/DC's most popular album? Sure seems like it, with a lot of their essential tracks calling this album their home. These are songs that your boomer relatives know & love, and songs that you yourself probably know and love too. I had briefly forgotten that this was their first album post-Bon Scott, so Brian Johnson had some tough shoes to fill on vocals. Safe to say that this sudden transition worked out, as that voice is unmistakable now. The guitar riffs are iconic and the drum playing is crisp too. It's simply all a very good hard rock album production. Very hyper-masculine and horny too. And I mean HORNY, tracks 3-5 get a little silly in that department. Regardless, this is a cornerstone of classic rock that still holds its own for the most part.

Probably a 3.75 so I'll go 4. Weak outside of the hits.

Enjoyed this more than I thought I would

So many bangers, must be played at full volume

Maarja, zoals ik al zei: FUCK YEAAAAAAAH FAVO: Shoot to thrill, Back in Black, You Shook me all night long

Standouts: What Do You Do For Money Honey Back In Black You Shook Me All Night Long

So many iconic songs and not as repetitive as people make it

-fav song: You Shook Me All Night Long -least fav song: Givin the Dog a Bone I liked it :) Sometimes it got a little repetitive bc a lot of the songs sounded similar

Unfortunately hells bells has been kinda ruined for me as it’s played on every third down in every football stadium in America but gosh dang is that an iconic opening. AC/DC freakin jam and each song individually rock so hard. As an album it is a little tricky just because I do get a little tired of the voice when listening to it for an entire 50 minutes. You shook me all night long comes as a much needed change of pace and style but I wish it could’ve been a little earlier in the album. I can’t in good faith give this less than a four because the iconic songs are so iconic and the others still jam but it is a low 4

Awesome album. I really liked the hits but I didn’t care for the songs I hadn’t heard before. The sound was consistent throughout and it was a good length. The songs I know are iconic, but I have to go with a 4 because of the album as a whole.

A lot of classic songs on here, like.

Solid spin. It's basically all classics by now.

Great album. Favourite tracks: Hells Bells, Back In Black & You Shook Me All Night Long Will listen again. 4/5

Don’t ask me why this overly in your face lyrics and playing works so much better but some just have it. Probably one of the most overplayed albums in rock. It works.

I liked it alot, im scared my taste in music is too chilled out for this website lol. Still cant deny its a good album!

I think that You Shook Me All Night Long may be one of the greatest rock songs of all time. The guitars, the rhythm and vocals all make something truly perfect. Back In Black is the other song of note here, being an essential song in the repertoire or every rock guitarist in the world. The rest of the album is fun, but definitely less so than these two tracks. Shake A Leg is just straight up weird (just a leg? Maybe I just don’t get it). Overall, a very good album. I understand if Brian Johnson’s voice is too grating for you, but I did enjoy this.

Classic rock

Classics what can you say?

not many bands can make this good of a comeback after the passing of their frontman. ac/dc delivers exactly what is expected of them. a rock classic, i mean you cannot tell me you never blasted Back in Black on full volume when driving 😮‍💨😩

There's no way you can really knock an AC/DC record. Every track rocks. There's never a ballad or high concept. They sound exactly like them.

I’d managed to get a last minute ticket to see them on the Highway to Hell tour then had to sit at the front of class for a week because I was deaf! I really got into them and then Bon Scott died! So it was with some trepidation I dropped the needle onto this album when it came out. On first listen I hated it to be honest, the riffs were there for sure and the band where as solid as ever, but that voice! Over the years I’ve grown to enjoy this album but as with all AC/DC albums there is a lot of “filler” between the good ones. I stopped buying their albums after this one!

Classic rock album!

Just a classic rock album, what you see is what you get. But it does hit and would be one of the best ones to play at a party. 8

# 396 : They've done a pretty decent job, to come back and record this smasher after the high profile death of their lead vocalist is friggin awesome. And that song… Honourable mention : You Shook Me All Night Long

Great album. Very nostalgic. Reminds me of Maddog.

I felt the same way listening to this as I did after watching the Foo Fighters set at Glasto in 2023 (I am in no way equating these bands, merely my experience); after a lifetime of not really caring about or enjoying an artist, it finally clicked. Although I will never be their number 1 fan, I finally get why people love it. This album evokes the idea of just being really aggressively human, in a sort of loud, sweaty, shouty kind of way. I really have to ignore some of the questionable lyrics though which can be hard to do. Surprisingly enjoyed it! But recognise its many faults…

Good album has a lot of the bands hits on it 4/5

It's ok.

So much here, new lead singer Johnson who replaces Scott who dies in a Renault due to "death by misadventure". The LP is black in mourning and the album was recorded in the Bahamas at a sketch studio. Simple and aggressive. That's ROCK! Like: "Hells Bells" (big-ass bell production element), "Shake A Leg"

Nothing quite like Aussie pub rock to get the heart pumping.

Everyone shears this, it's good. Too bad they never put out another record.

The voice, the music, all iconic. Starts off with the pretty fun Hell's Bells. Next few are solid. Then Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long take it right back up. Rest of the album rounded out nicely. Great album, makes you smile from start to finish. Can't help but join in with their energy. Best song: Back in Black

The comeback album. In all it's stupidity and sleave, it's still pretty great.

Maybe their best album, really good

Hard rock is not my genre, but this is a classic. So many hooks that work. I'm surprised how high I'm going to rate this.

I always forget how much I love AC/DC, when mentioned I think they're overplayed because Back in Black(song) and Thunderstruck. When listening to their other stuff they are incredible

Typically, I'm not a huge fan of AC/DC. I've heard their songs enough times, I find the singer's voice quite annoying, and the drum beats are just too simple for my taste. However, I actually did enjoy my listen to this album. Debatably something I'd actually re-visit on my own. 4/5

It’s good in its own way and also has so many timeless hits. It just feels a bit rudimentary and simple to really call it a masterpiece. I feel like any number of stars I go with, there could be an argument for more or less. I need to be fair, though!

She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean She was the best damn woman that I ever seen She had the sightless eyes, telling me no lies Knocking me out with those American thighs

Okay, yes, AC/DC is a 2 as a reflection of what it actually represents in society. If it existed in a vacuume it'd be a 4, maybe 4.5 just because AC/DC easily has the Top 5 Double Entendre Songs this side of The Masochism Tango and it's actually impressive when you think about it. I'd split the difference but I was literally verklempt, wistfully hoping, while listening to "You Shook Me All Night Long".

A staple of rock music that will never die.

Still good

Great rock, classic album. I really can't get into this band. The singer just doesn't do it for me. He's perfect for this group, though.

Even though it is a bit formulaic. They damn perfected the formula.

This is one of those albums that really exemplifies the term "Rock N' Roll". From sexual undertones to gargantuan guitar riffs, it has everything you can ask for in a rock album. Entire album is concise and cohesive. Final track is the perfect tune to finish this album on. 4/5 stars due to being a little bit bored in the middle.

Hell yeah

Frábært rokk. Elska Hells Bells, Angus Young og Back in Black. You shook me var í miklu uppáhaldi lengi.

Hard to imagine any band nowadays having their lead singer die then a few months later be all like "we got a new guy, he helped write new songs, and we almost immediately recorded this kick ass album for you sickos" Apparently the sicko is me...

I’ve thrown subtle, mostly lighthearted, jabs at AC/DC through these reviews in the past. I even mentioned them in a review from earlier this week. So I think this is the universe trying to communicate to me. I actually have quite a bit of nostalgia when it comes to this band. When I hear something like Shoot to Thrill, I think of my father. This music was around a lot when I was younger, and I guess I have fond memories of those times in the car with their music playing. It really is no wonder this is one of the best selling records of all time. It was clearly written with the intent of reaching as big of an audience as possible. Maximum widespread appeal. And because of this effort, these guys have cemented themselves in the history books of rock. Much like The Rolling Stones, these guys are miraculously still kicking it to this day. This was also the first record to feature Brian Johnson. He’s been their lead singer for over 40 years now, and has even served them longer than Bon Scott. As impressive as it is that they got someone so close to Scott, I don’t Johnson has ever recaptured the same energy that he had. His performances on this album are still good though. Really though, the guitar is without a doubt the main focus of the music here. There is just not enough going on with the drums or bass to really keep things interesting. I’m not sure whether Phil Rudd is only capable of playing at such a level, or if he can pull out some crazy chops at any moment. But this is about as basic as rock drumming can be, unless you delve into Meg White territory. Basic doesn’t necessarily mean bad though. Thankfully, when you have someone like the Angus Brothers writing your guitar parts, you can definitely rely on them. They are the most consistent aspect of this album, and carry the whole thing on their back. I don’t know if I ever see myself going out of my way to put on some AC/DC, but on a particular kind of day, or when I’m in a particular mood, this might hit just right. Rating: 7/10

Another classic from my youth. Minus one point for the clunky innuendo. “Let me cut your cake with my knife”? Oh matron!

clasiic

4 classic singles that still get a lot of play today, and for good reason. This is a great rock album.

Classic

Some of the songs were familiar, but many still new to me.

This is a great album! I think it’s probably my favorite AC/DC album. Just simple massive chunky rock riffs with sometimes juvenile lyrics. Solid 4. I really enjoyed listening to the whole album, I haven’t done so for a long time. Who doesn’t love Back in Black!!

Just so so good. Love this album. Solid start to finish

I wouldn’t put AC/DC up there with a list of all time greats, but this album has some classic tracks on it.

It's just ok ig

Solid. Hadn't heard it before now but I can definitely see why it's considered so highly. I did t realize this album was as old as it was.

Good songs, with some classics there.

Just finished my first listen through, and I really enjoyed it—a solid 4 for me. I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a virgin when it comes to hard rock, but songs like "Hells Bells," "Shoot to Thrill," and "You Shook Me All Night Long" were some I really enjoyed.

Along with Highway to Hell, appreciate Mutt Lange’s production. Reference track material for me when mixing.
