Reviews (page 12 of 13)

Just hooting and hollering but fairs because Highway to Hell is a banger

No está mal supongo pero repetitivo.

I have aged out. Too loud, too rowdy, too male. Two stars

Probably the most mediocre music known to man

Less grating than I expected, but ultimately my flavor of dad rock is much more on the steely dan end of the spectrum

Obviously the title track rocks, but most of this album is both boring (the riffs, lyrics and melodies) and unpleasantly harsh (the vocals) at the same time

20/02/2026 1. highway to hell - not looking forward to this album.... guitar solo is nice, but sooo overplayed. 2. girls got rhythm - not massive on the vocals.... similar to why i don't like metal vocals. bass is nice. 3. walk all over you - just the same as the other song. 4. touch too much - why are all of these songs about sex. it's literally the same song over and over again thank god it's not a long album. *5. beating around the bush - nice guitar at the start.... the vocals are absolutely not my thing though. he's not having sex this time.... guitars are kinda country? nice ending. 6. shot down in flames - nice bass. i think it's fair for her to tell him to go to hell! 7. get it hot - nice bass again. album would probably sound better if they listened to some soul. very macho hard rock album. even the songs not about him having sex are about him wanting to have sex. 8. if you want blood (you've got it) - drums are nice. waiting for this to be over.... just not my thing at all. 9. love hungry man - nice bassline................. vocals and lyrics (and hard rock generally) are reaaaaaaalllly not my thing though. 10. night prowler - the title of this sounds kindof promising.... he sounds like he's smoked 20 packs a day for 20 years. like a shit version of night shift by siouxie and the banshees..... this album is what i imagine to be on repeat 24/7 on absolute classic rock. do not like hard rock or how it is the only thing ever played on rock radio stations. need a 60s pop album tomorrow to clear any remnants of this from my brain.

Its coo

Sounds like it's doing everything it possibly can to keep me entertained but still too soulless and samey to be any good

Eh, not special and pretty repetitive and formulaic.

Jedes Album seit 1979 klingt so. Und jeder Song klingt wie der andere. Respekt für soviel Erfolg mit so wenig Einsatz.

C'est un classique mais c'est juste pas trop ma came quoi

80s workout/training montage music

I was not looking forward to this one, never been a huge fan. It was better than I was expecting, but all of the albums just sounds the same to me.

catchy but not my vibe

Mostly meh

every song sounds the same... took me back to my high school years tho.

Only 2 songs that really had any substance, the rest was sex and rock and roll. Most of the songs felt like they had the same tempo and patterns, even the solos were pretty similar.

Run of the mill acdc. Nothing special. Title track is highlight

repetitive, uncreative, and inauthentic def their best album cover tho no favorite songs because nothing stood out to me

I’m a hater I guess. Other than the opening track this album didn’t really do much for me.

AC/DC they could never make me like you❤️‍🩹

Down in Flames, Girls Got Rhythm.

Acdc is mid dad rock

Other than the hits, the other songs sort of blend together. Beyond the first two songs, there isn't much to explore. The lyrics leave a lot to be desired. The drums for every song are kick, snare, kick, snare. 2/5

I've never been a big fan of AC/DC, and the songs on this album sound too similar to one another. I don't know, could have been better.

I mean it is AC/DC. All the songs sounded the same.

I didnt like a single song. I think it was his voice. And sometimes what he was singing about and maybe the brand. It could have used more variety of sound and pacing within the album. Nothing really stood out. I liked how quickly it was over. Im not sure the actual runtime but it felt short.

What I thought he said: 'evan eezy, evan fwee / sees a nagga on a woahman fry / as another leave me be / check a moma not a moments fied'...vs (look it up). Musically catchy with simple chords, the entire album is mumble, mumble...I want sex, give me sex, I have needs, etc. in increasingly insensitive and offensive ways. Night Prowler is especially bad - there is nothing cool about sexually assaulting a sleeping woman. And Love Hungry Man? What kind of sophomore locker room, immature, entitled bullshit is this? A much better lyricist once quipped: how could this mean anything to me -- and -- what's become of subtlety? Thanks MJK. RIP Bon Scott but seriously go to hell. The Cult > AC/DC forever. 2/5

Every song here is approximately like this: *Drums kick in, a persistent, steady, unadventurous beat* *really pedestrian power chords with intermittent shredding* *Bon Scott yowls something horny, or depicts himself as a badass, or both* Tons of white dudes 60 years old and up - "Holy fuuuuuuck ACDC is the best rock band ever, they just dont make music like they used to." Rinse, repeat Hard to take the boomers who shit on modern hip hop or pop seriously if they fail to recognize that this, too, was cringy posturing emptiness that was massively popular in its day. They were technically skilled for sure but made just deeply uninteresting stuff, Bud Light rock

Album #1 ACDC: Highway to Hell Good album to work out or do something high energy to, but once the adrenaline dump kicks in, there isn't much substance to it. Still, a fun listen and the title track is a classic. Best Tracks: Highway to Hell, Touch Too Much, Walk All Over You Worst Track: Beat Around the Bush Score out of 10: 5.5

I’ve never been an AC/DC fan, so I wasn’t expecting to really enjoy this anyway

Didn't age well.

Probably good but to me everything sounded the same. Couldn't finish it

Embarrassing. Just listen to Big Bottoms by Spinal Tap instead.

I am not a big acdc person and that's okay

Only actually like highway to hell lmao

Never really a fan.

Simple music for simple people

Metal/hard rock about parties, girls (a million of them, + w/ rhythm), and all manners of a 'touch too much,' Highway to Hell boasts peculiar love songs and not very good ones: an abstract 'she' pervades the album inanely and boringly. My issue w/ AC/DC is that they don't do one thing all that well: riffing, raspy vocals, choruses, backbeats, don't-give-a-fuck-attitudes. I know they brand themselves as 'simply rock and roll,' but this primitivism doesn't guarantee authenticity or good song writing: 'We're rising, falling, like at sea / You're lookin' so good under me'; 'You can throw me lefts / And you can throw me rights / But where were you last night?’ This isn't 'back to the basics' (that'd be the Ramones), it's back to the same shit, over and over.

Music that appeals to pot bellied beer drinkers and whore mongers on safari at drag racing venues...but that's a bit cruel. I get the attraction but not my genre at all.

I actually don't think they're good

What did I do to deserve 2 AC/DC albums in one week 😫

Listening now, as a near 40 year old man, I realize why I loved it before and am annoyed by it now. Has some good hits. A bit Juvenile for me now.

This is AC/DC as ever. Not as many of their hits on this one, pretty solid songs all the way through. They aren't reinventing the wheel but it's fun. Gonna ding it a little just because the only true standout track is highway to hell on this one

Ehhhh. 2.5

Relentless which becomes tiresome. Like the chunky guitar. Dislike the vocals. Little to redeem. Saw them live early in their career, really much of a muchness.

Touch Too Much is a banger that should be talked about more.

p424.1979. 2.5 stars Proof that one classic song does not make for a good album. Apart from the opener it's average Aussie rock. And the content of some of the songs like Night Prowler have not aged well. 3 stars on a good day, 2 on a bad.

too long, and a lot of pointless tracks.

Have to be honest and it pains me as an Aussie, imo its got one good song on it with highway to hell and that’s about it, Bon Scott is also a great vocalist, very generic sounding otherwise, high voltage I think is a much better album with better songs and a more consistent sound

I nevet need to hear ACDC again.

AC/DC have never been my thing. Dunno why considering I like a lot of other hard/classic rock, but they just do nothing for me. The title track is decent the rest just melds in to one.

AC/DC are one of those Bands whose music just absolutely bleeds into a mess of electric guitars and constipated yelps. ⭐️⭐️

It's just the same song over and over

I like this okay? 3

Same song and sound repeated across tracks. Meh.

Bland Rock and Roll with a couple good songs but feels repetitive through the album.

I liked the other AC/DC album a lot more. It had some cool guitar riffs that made it fun. This album felt like the same riff over and over. A formulaic “Kirkland brand” rock album.

Kirkland brand rock n roll, sounds like variations of the same riff over and over. If you never heard ACDC before you might like it, but it gets old kinda quick and doesn't include their best stuff.

Not as good or anthemic as “Back in Black”, and I don’t love AC/DC to begin with. I don’t really get how they are so - not only popular - but also historically significant in the eyes of music critics. This is cookie cutter rock and roll, and i think it sounded cookie cutter in 1978 too. I can enjoy a moment or two, Angus Young is a fun guitarist, but it’s pretty damn monotonous…all the songs are in the same key, deal with the same subject (in the same goofy way), same instrumentation, same tempo, same guitar tones/style. I think I’m good on that song. “Walk All Over You” sound like Spinal Tap.

I am not bothered by this posturing, bad boy band. They are crying out for those also crying to cry along, but I'm just not in the mood for the needyness.

not for me

Another great opening riff (two albums in a row - LZ's Good Times Bad Times was Friday). Rest of the album was meh at best.

Bland and tacky. 1.9/5

A second straight day of albums where every track feels the same, outside of the one I know (which still sounds the same as the rest). Not bad by any stretch, just repetitive. 2.5 rounded to 2

I am sure it is great, but nothing excites me. Just sounds repetitive and each song sounds like the previous. I actually found it quite cheesy. 2 stars

Nothing too special here, couple of good tracks but their best work is yet to come

Didn't really do anything for me

Very mid. I dont really like AC/DC, I feel all the songs are the same. Not even the famous ones are good enough for me to save on my personal playlist. I can recognize the quality but it just feels so bland

YEEEEEOW I’m the man who roooocks!

Is this the same album as back in black

hard to deny the tsunami effect they have had on the music world. Back in Black is the record that goes down in history. This one, well....

It’s AC/DC. Same as it ever was.

just ruined my 8 good album streak FUCk! The only song on here worth listening to you've already heard a billion tillion zillion times.

same with rush... i just HATE the voice </3

Highway to Hell by AC/DC often feels like the same song played on repeat with only minor variations. It’s a straightforward rock album—loud, simple, and catchy—but it doesn’t offer much in terms of invention or variety. The title track is an undeniable classic and easily the standout moment, but beyond that, the record doesn’t bring much new to the table. In summary, it’s an OK album by an OK band. Favourite track: Highway to Hell is the clear highlight, though If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) comes close. Least favourite track: Most of the songs blur together, but Love Hungry Man felt particularly dull. Album artwork: A cool and iconic cover that perfectly captures the band’s image.

This was fine. I'm only familiar with AC/DC hits, so highway to hell is an old favorite. The only other song I really liked was night prowler. I just wasn't vibing with the album. Maybe because I'm a 30 year old female. I just don't think this was made to appeal to my demographic. I'll give this a 2.5/5

Other than the title track I thought this whole album was mid. I was shocked to see it's high critical marks and status as one of the best hard rock albums of all time. Maybe time just hasn't been kind and the things it's influenced have just dwarfed it.

Listened in the truck via YouTube music. It’s AC/DC. All the songs sound about the same.

Danas sam saznala da oni, kad bi se zanemario vokal, ne bi baš bili najgori bend na svijetu. Ali pošto se ova vokalna katastrofa nikako ne može zanemariti, ništa od toga.

Dad- 7 Mom- 4 Mike- 4 Lori- 3 Michael- 6 Miles- NA Cole- 2 Avg- 4.33

I feel like if you like dad rock, this must be pretty good. But I couldn’t find anything memorable for me at all.

this website is trying to kill me personally. i STRUGGLED through bib LITERALLY YESTERDAY and theyre like hey do you want basically the same exact album again? no! i do not! admittedly i do think this one is better, rip bon scott your vocals are much easier on my ears.

Not my favourite genre, but keen to give it a go - many of the tracks on the album have a similar construction and rhythm - certainly hasn’t left me keen to explore their wider catalogue

Highway to hell is decently cool and the album cover is on point, but the rest is pretty middling rock. While high energy, this album struggles to capture your attention and every tracks bleeds into the next. In the end, the unique vocals save it from the dust bin.

Straight in with a banger. GOOD MORNING 🥳 Seems the rest of the album is demo versions of Highway To Hell

🛣️

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? It’s AC/DC or as the aussies say, accadacca. Really great rock and roll especially for the time. Not exactly my personal style of music but it has its place (dad rock playing in the background at a barbecue). I personally give this album a 5/10. Rounded down for personal reasons.

Around song 3 I thought "well at least there IS a good song, maybe this album won't be so bad" and then every other song was using similar riffs and progressions, like I don't usually say shit like that because I barely know about music but there is a point where the meme about them writing the same song over and over is just true and it shows.

Boring, but better than Back in Black.

I love to rock but I hate AC/DC, a one-note band that just bores me. They remind me of the feeling of being stuck at a party you want desperately to escape, but you can’t leave because your ride is off shotgunning beers or hooking up with someone behind closed doors (this covers much of my high school experience). This is slightly better than I expected — I think I prefer Bon Scott as vocalist to his successor, who just evokes chain-smoking — but I still couldn’t wait for it to end. Songs like “Get It Hot” and “Touch Too Much” are just ridiculous — heavy petting anthems that would turn me off faster than “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” The production is clean, the guitar tone is quality, the drumbeat never varies, and yet rather than being exhilarating, it all feels like a slog.

2+ Stars (6/15)

This was slightly less cringey than I expected. What are they? They are too lame for Heavy Metal, so i guess it's some sort of hard (ish) rock. It's just not for me. That said, i didn't get the urge to chew my arm off. As they are all musically competent I would have given them a 3, but as the guitarist uses to dress up as a schoolboy its a 2.

Late to the party with AC/DC - really didn’t like it in my younger days. But it’s just simple of heavy rock really ain’t it…I like the hits, probably wouldn’t give this album a 2nd look though if I’m honest.

Every single song sounds the exact same. Sorry to the fans of this if I’m missing some secret nuance here but wow what a boring record. Absolutely perfunctory rock.

Highway to Hell is the best song on the albums, which is weird because it all sounds the same

Highway to Hell: Classic and fun guitar Girls Got Rhythm: Not great vocals but catchy and fun guitar Walk All Over You: Kinda boring Touch Too Much: Kinda boring but maybe good solo Beating around the bush: fun guitar Shot Down in Flames: Pretty generic and boring Get it Hot: Boring Rest of songs: pretty boring all the same sound

Not my style

4 / 4 rock songs that all sound very much the same

Probably you had to be there to get it, I wasn't.

i expected to dislike it, the title track is so overplayed, and I'm usually not big on the cheesy hard rock with questionable horny lyrics. I'll be the first to admit, though - some of the tracks are kinda fun if you don't take them seriously. still, don't think I will ever go back to this.

Wow. I also have watched the 2003 comedy "School of Rock" and have played the popular video game "Guitar Hero"! I can imagine hearing this at the time and thinking it was game changing, but now it's a big cliché. The title track is cool, there's some other cool riffs but it never heats up for me beyond that. I'll stick with the hits. 4/10 (2/5)

I respect ACDC but not really my jam

AC/DC is good at writing one type of song. This album is 10 versions of that song. They’re all well produced, but they feel very repetitive after a while.

This is an era of music that I just can't connect with unless I'm in a very specific situation and unfortunately when listening to it I was not at a live sporting event.

2.5 stars Consistent at what it is. If you’re in the mood for straight ahead hard rock you can do much worse. But it gets lost in the sameness and the formula gets old without providing much more.

AC/DC just aren’t for me

Eh I did not enjoy

Not something I normally gravitate to, but it does what it sets out to do well.

It does what it does well. But it was too much of the same for me. 'Girls Got Rhythm' was the favourite.

Listening to this was like watching a toddler play with a toy steering wheel; they’re convinced they’re driving, but you’re just parked in the driveway. Or the review that compared this to Saltines. Slightly salty, widely available, and dry as hell. Or maybe plain tofu and white rice, unseasoned, and cooked in a microwave. Shlock Rock™. The riffs are plain and chunky, the vocals are nasal, and every song is basically a remix of the previous one with a new punchline. I get why this sells beer and fills stadiums, but it’s also the reason ̷d̷a̷d̷s̷ grandpa's everywhere think they’re music experts. Put it in the Smithsonian next to the Crocs display, please. Spins: 1 Playlist Additions: - Highway To Hell - Girls Got Rhythm

Boy was this dumb. I don’t get why this was so popular. It’s loud but not in a good way, I would definitely dial to a different classic rock station if I heard this on the radio. That being said I bet it was fun to play for them so light 2/5

Nja inte för mig

objectively a really good execution of this sort of thing, unfortunately i despise this sort of thing

This is a moody album that just kinda drones on. It's good atmospheric music, but the vocals lack the early XTC that I enjoy and sound too Paul McCartney-esque.

Touch too much ist ein Banger. Platz 2 Beating around the bush.

Nothing special to say on this one. Just ok nothing stood out to me. 2 star.

If I was to be spread supine on a boulder while birds endlessly picked away my flesh, this would be the soundtrack.

Music that hasn’t aged well although it does bring me back to junior high dances in 1990…

I mean, bro, it’s AC/DC. And it sounds like AC/DC.

Mejor de lo que esperaba. Supongo que cuando salió a muchos se les voló la tapa del cerebro. De todas formas encontré que terminando el álbum sentía que había escuchado muchos temas casi iguales. Nota: 2.35

Classic opener. Everything else (at this stage) just blends into each other. Indifferent.

I never listened to AC/DC and I think I only knew two of their songs prior to listening to this record. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. AC/DC is such a big name after all - so let’s check what is behind this name. But these songs all sound so similar to one another. The lyrics are so mono-thematic. Some of the lyrics are funny but ugh we get it. You like sex. Okay, cool story bro. 2/5 stars

shit sucks if you're not in the right mood for them. Would I listen again: in my teens Deserves to be on this list: Yes 1.9

Carried by like 2 good songs

Having effectively.listen to two AC/DC albums in a row, I can say Scott is a better singer than Johnson. But that only makes this album slightly less grating.

The definition of old man rock. At least it was only 40 min long.

AC/DC really had one idea for a song and then recycled that one idea endlessly their whole career. I mean it's fine, I just don't know if I need a whole albums worth y'know?

Woman rock

AC/DC is fine

Sitä vanhan sortin rokkenrollia, joka ei vaan itseen iske. Klassikkokappaleita joo, mutta en haluaisi kuunnella uudelleen.

I think the bullies from grade 8 would beat me up If they knew I gave this a 2. Bon Scott is the superior singer and these early albums show some blues influence, I guess. But it’s not great. Not terrible. It’s just ok.

Well what can I say. They’re groundbreaking pioneers, but, not really my thing.

uneven

Just completely washes over me. Don't care for this at all. I don't think it's bad or anything, just painfully uninteresting. The type of rock album that lacks any real character and coasts on solid instrumentation and songwriting. Made to be played at sports games and shitty dive bars and guitar hero games. The mixing on the vocals is horrendous.

Starts off with Highway to Hell and goes downhill.

Eh. Title track rules but gets so boring

This type of ”boys just wanna have fun” hard rock always bored me.

boring as always

It's ac/dc back to back

There is probably White Girl Pop that goes harder than this.

Favorite Tracks: "Highway to Hell", "Girls Got Rhythm", "Touch Too Much", "Love Hungry Man" I wish these ratings weren't out of 5 stars because it doesn't feel right to give this a 2 or 3. It's somewhere in the middle for me. It starts to lose steam at Shot Down In Flames for me, but picks back up at Love Hungry Man.

I understand why these guys are so influential but scream-singing has never been my bag.

When I was 15, I would have given this album 4 stars, but I've listened to this album numerous times. It's not bad, I get the cultural significance of this album. Nevertheless, you get 2 stars babe. XOXO Maggs

So recognizable anthem and the rest of the album goes with copy-paste production method. Simple is good but I listening this album makes me question the value of this album. Nope.

I'm pretty sure I must've heard this album before because my dad is a fan. Meh? It's not the most terrible thing I've ever heard but their signature sound makes all the songs sound the same basically. And I just don't like AC/DC in general. 2/5

Highway To Hell: 10/10, classic, ultimate road trip song Girls Got Rhythm: 7/10, fun to vibe to, lyrics are alright Walk All Over You: 6/10, song topic is the same as the last and it's already getting kinda repetitive Touch Too Much: 5/10, when are they gonna sing another song that ISN'T about sex?! However, I quite liked the guitar solo Beating Around The Bush: 7/10, yay a song that isn't about sex! I liked it, fun to dance to Shot Down In Flames: 4/10, boo hoo you got rejected idc Get It Hot: 3/10, if ur gonna sing about sex all the time at least make the lyrics good If You Want Blood (You Got It): 7/10, not about sex, I actually somewhat enjoyed the message behind the song Love Hungry Man: 2/10, sex. Night Prowler: 6.5/10, a decent horror-themed song Overall album rating: 5.75/10

[5/10] Yeah it’s ac/dc alright. So ubiquitous at this point that it does about as much for me as staring at a charcoal grill. I’m sure it was revolutionary for everyone’s dad when it came out though.

I like the idea of ACDC a lot more than I like ACDC. I think it's the workman-like plodding of the standard ACDC song. They're all at very close the same tempo and that tempos never really connected with me. Bum, pop, dutiful driving without any real propulsion, I just get bored when it's not a solo (Bon Scott's perfect rock vocals notwithstanding). That said, when Young does do a solo, my interest increases exponentially, and the songs that run at a tighter clip are far more infectious (I wish there were more songs played at Beating Around The Bush's clip)

Not a big fan of this band. Production is good though. Same old heavy riffs and pentatonic blues scales. Yawn

This may be the brochure for sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The presentation may be fine, but most of this is tiresome and uninteresting.

fine for what it is, but not something i’d listen to in my free time

Title track is an absolute classic and obviously great. Touch Too Much is damn good. That's about it for this album, but I wouldn't say everything else is *terrible* either.

Another dad rock staple but as an album not super interesting. They'll likely always be a greatest hits band for me. Opening track is a classic. I like the riffing on beating around the bush. That's about it. Another greatest hits staple band but album snoozer

produced by mutt lange, so every song is a fiddle away from shania or a synthesizer away from loverboy. at least they sang about relatable things like being a woman or working for the weekend.

yeahhh i dont like this

Why not, some good songs that understandably became legendary, a signature guitare sound, but nothing that amazed me, especially the fact that it was released in 79. I was expecting more experimental or at least fresh and modern.

'I'm afraid your just too darn loud'

omg i was so fucking bored aaAAUIaaUOIU

Loved the title track and then everything sounded the same

It's funny how low-key the title track is. The album opens with it and it has a very nondescript ending that just flows straight into track 2. No pomp and circumstance for what would be a legendary track. No real bangers but a solid album that I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Grew stale in the second half though. Fav Track: Beating Around The Bush

Some fun riffs but it's the same shit for 42 minutes Highlights: Highway to Hell

it feels like eating at a mcdonald's, plain for me

Everyone knows that AC/DC only has one song and they just change the lyrics to make an album, right? There’s so much more potential here but they came up short on this one.

It wasn't as bas I was expecting, lots of melody going on, lyrics are pretty big standard, lots of 'hot and 'woman' and the such. 2.5

So boring and repetitive... not the best AC/DC album.

It's funny how similar the Back in Black singer sounds like Bon Scott. And also wore the hat. Was he just not allowed to be his own thing? Anyway yes, this is ACDC. It's always going to be exactly what you expect. I definitely forgot it was on after a few tracks. Not bad though. Not good either.

You know in your late teens, early twenties, and you're meeting new people - college, university, house parties, wherever - and you meet that guy who fires up the room, a real party animal, everyone's buddy. You start talking to him, and it sounds like he's the most awesome person ever... but as the night wears on, he's just drinking more and more, and tell the same story over and over again to every new person who joins the group, and the story is all about the tons of sex he is DEFINITELY having, and how he's having MORE SEX than everyone else, and how he DEFINITELY did it today, and everyone realises he's just kind of... a sad act who has one story at most? That's Highway to Hell. The album starts great, with a genuine banger, but then every other song after that blends in to hard rockin', sex havin', four to the floor sameyness that really leaves me cold. The last track at least tries something different with the blues-y feel (although it is still about a serial killer stalking a woman, so no thanks), but overall I don't think it'll be one for a second listen. Fave: Highway to Hell

Kinda mid

no ac/dc album should be more than 30 minutes. no ac/dc song should be more than 3 minutes.

Oh to be a teenage boy.

Sure was some AC/DC.

AC/DC makes music for venues to play between bands

Not a giant fan. Occasionally I'd be enjoying a song, and then the singer would do some weird Spongebob-esque laugh or adlib and then I'd hate it again.

It's ok, kinda samey all the way through

Every song sounds the same. Boring.

It seems like this song is based on life on the road and how you can just do something bad and there will be no consequences, which makes the song have a reckless vibe. Overall, I think that song is fine, but I don't love it because of the wild guitar freestyle that's annoying in my opinion. 2. I think this song is based on the commitment of making a good band, even if there will be some major consequences. Overall, I think this song is slightly better than the first one I listened to. Anyways, I don't like ACDC because I feel like if I listened to this for a long period of time, I would get a severe headache

Loved this in early highschool. It’s not my jam anymore

ofbeldi

not a huge fan of hard rock, nor do I care for Scott's voice. it was ok. felt like lot of the tracks had same sound

Kæft det er monotont! Ikke nær så mange bangers som på den sidste vi havde med dem

Der var den der highway to hell, som er relativt kendt og så føles resten af pladen bare som den samme sang..

Listened to this album years ago, but AC/DC aren't really my thing. Everyone knows the title track and every track after it basically sounds the same.

Don't have it in me to listen to a whole album. Singles are good

We get it... you've made your intentions clear. Over and over again. 10 songs and 42 minutes of basically the same thing. With the exception of the last track. Which was only slightly different. Not my taste.

AC/DC man, a band that’s aged like milk on a radiator.

Mostly forgettable straight forward rock music. I get why at least one AC/DC album is on here, they are an institution in rock and roll music. I like a lot of their songs, but an entire album was too much. They are great at what they do, but for me they’re a greatest hits band with a few deep cuts that are worth checking out. Overall what I expected, a few gems with a lot of filler.

The guitar playing is great, not a fan of the vocal screeching. The songwriting is mediocre at best.

Soo-ooo boring. Brian Johnson's vocals are abysmal too.

Just sounds the same. Singer's voice becomes grating after too long

Titke track was it for me

Band is lame tbh

I thought this was gonna be so cool! Guess the songs I sorta like that sound just like these songs are on a different album though.

I've never actually sat down and listened to this album before. All the jokes about their songs sounding the same are true. Extremely mid. I'm honestly not even sure why they're still popular decades later. Not even mid, pretty bad and stupid.

Не буду оригинальным в заявлении, что все эти песни звучат абсолютно одинаково. Я никогда не был большим любителем AC/DC, это тоже правда. Альбом норм, но даже при небольших сорока минутах ощущается затянутым. Лучшая песня - Touch Too Much.

Better than I expected.

#246. I knew this day was coming, and yet I was hoping anyway that it wouldn't. I listened to this album to keep with the spirit of this whole thing, but I already knew it was going to be terrible, and as I suspected, it was terrible. 2/5: garbage

Just not my sound

i never listened to ac/dc in middle school so this music really hasn't resonated with me. it's funny to me that the only song on this album i knew ahead of time was the title track and, quite frankly, it's the lamest song on here. the rest of the album really doesn't do it for me a whole lot. solid enough hard rock. the sound is better than i feel the songs are. just really makes me feel like music a middle schooler would like. ah well, i gave it a shot.

There is absolutely no reason for 2 AC/DC albums to be on this list. Once you've heard one of their songs, you've heard them all.

same old same old

1 great Song. The rest made my ears tired.

It’s not bad, just repetitive and bland. The classics are overplayed at this point, the rest just filler. I get why it’s on here, I just don’t care about it.

Is there a band that likes singing the name of their song over and over in the chorus like AC/DC? Highway to Hell (song) stands the test of time because it's the best song here. Once you've heard that, though, you've basically heard everything here. Anthem rock all the way and it's pretty boring for that, in my opinion. My favorite song that was new to me was Beating Around the Bush.

I think the rhythm guitar sounds better on this one than in Back in Black, & the Bon Scott era is better overall. but Highway to Hell doesn't have the Back in Black chord riff. music: hated. (⌐■_■)

It is what it is

Rytmerne for kedelige. Highway to Hell (sangen) holder 100. Men resten af albummet var virkelig skidt.

Loud rock. Not my favorite. 2 stars.

Not my thing, and i just dont like it, i never will. I like in Highway to Hell, the little pauses in the chords on the guitar. Hate the vocals so much. I think its bad. 2/5

first one is a banger but then they all sound the same after that

Nothing really caught my attention

While music everywhere was evolving and transforming, we still had these guys to belt out tired riffs and cringy lyrics

Tony Hawk Pro skater nostalgie. Wel lekkere schreeuw herrie. Veel van hetzelfde beetje saai. Zou het niet nog een keer opzetten. En niet afgeluisterd.

Overrated. Full stop.

While they do have some bangers, like the title track here, I find a lot of their songs are cut from the same cloth. And the cloth is a fairly boring cloth.

2024-03-23...

3/10Heavy metal. Not for me. Although Highway to Hell a classic

This was a great album when I was 14

If you are into that genre it is very good.Personally not my cup of tea but my brother in law loves it.

I like “Highway to Hell” and I enjoy a couple of the other songs. But mostly this falls into the category of music that is ultra masculine that I can engage with for a couple of tracks and then become increasingly tired with. I don’t think it’s garbage but the aggressiveness drives me away. 2.5/5

Gym rocked, classic guitar, just not exciting or special to me

Never care to hear these guys ever again

It was okay

Highway to Hell was a great opener. Night Prowler at the end I enjoyed but enriching else was pretty forgettable. It’s not bad, it’s just not for me

While I've heard the hits over the year and they are great (at the right time and place). The rest of the album was pretty forgettable for me.

It’s cool, pretty legendary butt rock. Transports me to my Midwestern small town beer tent. That being said, it all kinda sounds the same and I don’t know that I’d ever choose to play this again.

AC/DC é uma das bandas mais medíocres de todos os tempos, as únicas partes que salvam esse álbum são os solos, de resto, é todo normal pra ruim

Not terrible. Kind of relemtless. Bluesier than I expected in some of the non-radio songs.

Never realized how few of their songs I’d heard besides the big hits. But then again they all kinda sounded the same. Solid, consistent, dumb rock songs.

Pears!!!

I can see why this album is on the list. Decent rock music and talented musicians but overall it’s kinda boring. I listened about half way through

6/10 Highlight: Girls Got Rhythm

Anyway... Highlights: Highway to Hell Walk All Over You (Who-vibes)

This was my first ever AC/DC album. It was “just alright”. On to the next one.

Even in the context of its era its still boring

2 great songs and 1 good one. The rest were pretty generic sex or fighting songs which was kind of boring.

Meh - beyond the title track I didn’t really care about any of the songs. They all sounded the same, very one note. I will say that if I had heard this when I was in 6th grade I would have been OBSESSED with AC/DC.

I mean Highway to Hell is a fun song but I can't even call this an album, it's literally just one single 41 minute long song. This entire album is a deja vu trip 2/5

Dad rock. Highway To Hell is track 1, maybe 2 other songs really enjoyed but struggled to get through the whole album. Good to hear more AC/DC songs however it reminds me of growing up and blaring stadium anthems coming from my little brothers bedroom. Can appreciate the ground work this album put in for future hard rock albums.

Довольно однообразный, но драйвовый звук, хотя хитовые треки у группы в целом совсем друг на друга не похожи, но альбом однообразен----->на треке beating around the bush передумал)) звучит все также однообразно драйвово, но свежо и круто

Classic rock. 2/5

Outside of the the title track not AC/DC's best effort. RIP to Bon Scott

Other than Highway to Hell, nothing ever stands out to me. After GnR just two albums ago, I've had my fill of this style of hard rock. *Heard before.

Honestly a bit of a snoozefest for me - by the 6th album I think AC/DC ran out of ideas for original compositions and just began recycling their sound. Not only that but the lyrical content feels like it's written by a horny middle-schooler. Title track ain't bad though. Fav Tracks: Highway to Hell

A lot of them all sound the same. Very specific sound. Very simple and repetitive melody. The song highway to hell is classic.

Everything sounds the same but they got some catchy licks. Unfortunately the cringe of how "badass" they are combined with the safe vanilla sound make for a pretty boring listen.

Funny that this used to be consider "hard rock." Seems so tame now. Not my thing really.

my thought process listening to this album: "highway to hell": hell yeah this is gonna be a dope AC/DC album full with bangers. at this moment, I am expecting to, at some point, hear back in black, thunderstruck, dirty deeds, or any combination of the top AC/DC tracks. "Girl's got rhythm" to "Touch too much": there haven't been any super killer AC/DC tracks other than "thunderstruck" thus far, but these tracks all maintain the energy, provide killer riffs, and allow me to think that this album is still 4/5-5/5 range. "Beating around the bush" to "Get it hot": I am now desperate for a recognizable track, or anything resembling a breath of fresh air. Every song now sounds the same, and I'm sick of Scott's screaming vocals that offer no dynamics "If you want blood" to "Night prowler": all hope has been lost. I have succumbed to the AC/DC sound, nothing can save this album at this moment. 1 good track (and 9 other identically-sounding tracks) cannot make a good album. Any of these songs on their own could make their way into a dad-rock playlist, but I'm convinced that this album simply is not made for front-to-back listening. I juggled with different ratings, but if I'm being honest, it really just deserves a... 2/5

God this is a load of rubbish just ooo guitars going grrr and mid singing for an entire fucking album! Lord!

If ever you can hear a band name and know EXACTLY what the music is going to sound like, it is AC/DC. Every single song is the same as the last one. How they have become such a rock juggernaut, nay, behemoth is beyond me. Bang. Sodding. Average. I feel a headache coming on.

I liked a few tracks, Highway to Hell, Tough to Much and If you want blood but overall just not a huge fan of AC/DC. It all blends together

Textbook generic rock by numbers. The guitar tone is the only standout element with a tight bright distortion sound ringing out in the open chords and a generally fun & concise if unoriginal approach to solos. Good clean crisp drum sound too. Otherwise it's just dudes doing rock noises. Pretty stripped back in terms of production. They had a formula and somehow it worked for them for decades, but good God is it tedious. Truly the Top Gear of bands.

Not my cup of tea but it's not bad

Hadn't listened to this in 10 years. Was enjoying the first few tracks before I remembered that I don't listen to AC/DC because all their songs sound the same and are about the same things. Piss off/10.

Highway to hell: such a great album opener. Album is oozing with energy to the point that most of these sounds samey to me. 2* since I enjoyed it more overall than the last few albums, but I don't think I'd revisit it very often.

After two AC/DC albums, I can confirm that I like AC/DC's hits by themselves, but as a whole album it's too much. As I remarked with "Back in Black," there's just no levels here. It got old really quickly after the title track.

Heard before: some For a band that is constantly rewriting the same 2-3 songs, it’s kind of incredible how much the quality can vary track by track. I guess either a lick tickles your lizard brain or it doesn’t, because the lyrics are consistently stupid. But that’s what you expect. This whole thing is pretty much what you expect, I guess, but I don’t think it's the AC/DC record I’ll put on if I want one. Top tracks: If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It), Touch Too Much, Highway to Hell

Liked songs - Highway to Hell, Touch too Much Very famous album by the most famous Australian export on the global music scene. Seems like standard rock n roll music. Nothing overly special. 2

Listened to this while playing A Feast For Odin. I have never listened to an AC/DC album before...though of course I knew the title track. Didn't recognize any of the other songs though. Definitely not my style. I felt so straight after listening to it, I followed it up with Dua Lipa just to balance the scale.

Nostalginen hitti, mutta eipä muuten herätä juuri tunteita. Klisee bändin biisien identtisyydestä näkyy pitävän paikkansa.

Eäh tavallaan ACDC on omassa ACDC-luokassaan (kiitos pääsystä helvettiin satan tää on hyvä mesta) tyylipuhdasta ja siten virheetöntä. Ehkä koko levy kuitenkin tätä kamaa putkeen vähän tökkii. 2/5

It's like the band made the song Highway to Hell (admittedly a decently good song) but then just Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V that song 9 more times with a slightly different shade of paint. You hear one song here, you've heard them all, and they aren't interesting enough outright to want to listen to more than once

Nostalgisk og til tider kult, men blir for mye slitsom vokal for min smak

I’ve never been a fan of AC/DC’s brand of testosterone driven stadium rock. The most interesting thing about this album is the production. It manages to bring out a richness in what are generally pretty annoying vocals from Bon Scott. The guitars also sound great. The songwriting is boring and/or dumb, every song seems to be another take on lusting over girls, as though the big bad wolf hooting at little red riding with his jaw down wrote all these tracks. It’s basically sex predator rock, it even inspired an infamous serial killer. So yeah, I’d say this is vastly overrated and did not age well.

Probably better suited for a crowded bar in southern Nebraska where everyone is moderately inebriated and is tone deaf but still screams along anyways.

First track is classic but otherwise sucks. Probably great in 1979

I groaned a little when I saw this album pop up, but after the first 2 tracks i thought "hey, maybe it's not so bad". A couple more songs later and nope. The fatigue sets in so quickly with ACDC, people are not exagerrating when they say every song they make sounds the same. It's all the same structure, the same sound, the same tempo, same same same everything. It's 40 minutes but it feels like an hour, 4 minute songs feel like 7. I won't give it a 1 because the songs individually are catchy and fun, but listening to more than 1 in a row just shows how much of a one trick pony they are.

Not for me. I've never liked the singles but thought that was maybe just because they're overplayed, but no, don't like the vocals and the songs all sound very similar to each other. I appreciate that they're good/iconic in this field of "pure" rock but not really for me. Fav track: Touch Too Much

All sounds the same after the title track. Last album by Bon Scot

I'm afraid I have never been a fan of "hard rock" and in trying again, I still don't like it. Highway to Hell will always be kind of fun, but after listening to one song, I'm done.

File under: Toolbox Rock. It's like KISS but slightly less gross. But only slightly.

Highway to Hell is a banger. The rest is repetitive. It’s all good but a bit one note.

Really having a hard time enjoying this, mostly due to the vocals. Some fairly good bones on a few of the songs though. I'll call it a 2.5. Tolerable, but not for me.

boring

why do those 2 guys look like goblins

you've heard one acdc song you've heard them all

Pretty straightforward. Most of the music is about having sex. Fairly bereft of known songs. Kinda got tiring towards the end. At least it was easy to listen to, though. I'm stuck between a 2 and a 3 but Moby has me feeling slightly less charitable that I'd maybe normally be. Standouts: Highway to Hell, Touch Too Much, Beating Around the Bush

Classic but hard rock is not my cup of tea. Some great songs in here such as self-titled, Touch Too Much, and Night Prowler. Personally, too many repetitive riffs over saturated across the album.

Of all the hard rock bands and albums, AC/DC hit the sweet spot for gen X with Highway to Hell. It was just loud and heavy enough that dads everywhere in their 40s/50s today love the sense of rebellion, but not too loud or heavy that they're scared by it. To this day, old farts will call into the local classic rock radio station, spouting "J-Lac, b'y can you play some 'Tunderstruck by h'A.C.D.C. K-Rack racks!" And then they crack another beer. The band knows what they're good at and lean heavy into it. Blues riffs with heavy distortion, competent rhythm section, big face-melting solos, goblin vocals. AC/DC are effortlessly cool for 70's in a practical, working man way. The problem largely rests in their lack of consistent quality: you've heard one AC/DC song, you've heard most of them. The exception is their hit songs, which are usually quite good! There is only one hit song on this album. Can you guess what it is? AC/DC stews around in passable hard rock, usually quite bland and unremarkable. Most of Highway to Hell is not worth more than a second look, but you can rip the opening track for your road trip mixtape, so it's got some value in there.

Chugging pub rock

I get it. You like sex, man. All the songs sound the same and I only liked Highway to hell.

Basically the same song 10 times. At least three of them sounded like you shook me all night long, even though it isn't on this album. Highway to hell is a banger mind but another band that should condense their back catalogue into an EP.

Well apparently you just need to write ONE banger of a track and play it on repeat to be regarded as a rock n’ roll legend.

One song I liked but oh so samey. I went with two stars because If You Want Blood reminded me of Empire Records, which isn’t a bad thing.

kind of background music-ey. both of us arent the biggest fan of AC/DC, and it feels like they're playing the same song over and over.
