Reviews (page 2 of 13)

One of my favorite albums ever. The vibes are immaculate and her voice like a soft siren in the night.

I mean the nostalgia hits for this album for sure. It was so big when it came out like it was pop royalty album drop big. As others have mentioned, it was playing in every cafe and bookstore you cared to walk into. Now, almost 25 years after it originally came out, I appreciate the distinct sound. You know exactly who and what you're listening to. Smooth, gentle, silky, calm. So few albums that I hear with the ease of this one. I was trying to think of something to criticize, but I think it's the perfect pop piano jazz.

This is a great album, Norah’s voice has always been amazing and the soft tender sounds always make me feel better.

I've listened to this a million times and it will always be a 5 star album for me. Every single song is good, no duds, just beautiful singing and great arrangements.

This album comforts your soul

Stupidly beautiful. Frankly I do not care if it's a little one-note or a little too mellow -- and actually, fuck you, I don't think that at all. Norah Jones has wrapped me in a vanilla-scented heated blanket and all I can hope is that she adopts me soon. This album legitimately lowers my heart rate. Gorgeous.

Absolutely love this album!

I'm a little surprised at the hard time reviewers are giving this album - as if Norah planned for her music to be played in coffee shops, just to piss you off? I remember when this album came out and it was absolutely everywhere! A huge commercial success and unlike anything else that was in the mainstream or overproduced hiphop pop slop of the time - an incredibly listenable album with real musicians playing instruments beautifully, and what a voice - soft and sultry and smokey. It’s not that I’m a massive fan of this music, or huge Norah Jones fan, but you have to take your hat off to Norah and her team for the breakthrough this debut was. I also can’t help but think how well she handled fame, by taking a step back and prioritising her life and her family - It didn’t swallow her up like another notable jazz fusion singer of a similar time. 4 stars for the music, but an extra star because I admire her grit to do her own thing. Good on her.

Just a delight of an album. Reminds me of growing up with my mom, who would play this album a lot. Sweet vibes.

This was a very soothing album.

Maybe not the most innovative or unique but 5 stars because really enjoy the album

Det e jo et veldig veldig fint album sjøl om æ sikkert ikke har hørt på det på minst femten år. Men det står sæ og det hold sæ og det e vel verdt en inkludering på en sånn her liste, heldigvis.

Beautiful voice, completely unexpected. this album blew me away at how similar each song was whilst still maintaining a feeling of novelty for each song.

J'aime beaucoup, cela s'apparente pour moi à du miel

Absolutely smashed that 5 star rating before even listening for the day. I've know this album so so long its hard to imagine my days before it. Its actually a really fun story from my childhood, I had a really quick ear to classical, cabaret and jazz music. From age 5 I knew I like this sound and somewhere around '04 or '05 I got a chance to listen to this for the first time. I go through phases with it, usually in the fall (2025 she released Autumn Jones, a really nice redition of her best autumn vibey songs). But this hailed from the lag end of the global village coffee house era of design and aesthetic. Where CD dominated music and its so damn devine. If its not your speed just yet, just wait. When you get some tenderness in your heart you'll appreciate it.

Holy shit so good

Love this album so much.

beautiful

Aso relaxing and chill

So peaceful and sweet.

It was very cool! My cortisol level was below the ground

Increíble, peca un pelin de repetitivo pero 100% entra en favoritos

Listening to this is like being swept away by a dream. What a voice! The SPACE and air and breath in this record is so refreshing. I was so happy to listen to this today!

What a delight, to have this be the album I’m “stuck” with this weekend. I overlooked her and I feel like a fool for doing so.

i mean come on

Masterpiece, So many Bossa Nova Vibes

Calm, relaxing, and the soft melodies of the acoustic guitar gives it the rural town in autumn feeling I love.

beautiful

It's soft, cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a glass of wine with your partner on the couch. It has soul and emotion, but it doesn't try to force them upon you.

I really really like the vibes in this. Sounds like sitting in the sun with a light breeze. Favorites: Cold Cold Heart Come Away With Me The Nearness of You

Listening to this album is like wrapping yourself in a towel or blanket straight from the dryer. Beautiful voice, beautiful playing and beautiful sound. 5 stars

Wha can I say, Norah Jones voice is just a calming experience. Melancholic and at the same time nostalgic.

Lovvvvvv her

Love this album, every song is so good!

I love standards and this album is a timeless classic for me. Favorite songs: Don't Know Why, Come Away With Me, Lonestar, Cold Cold Heart

Excelente.

One of my favourites…played the hell out of this one…love her voice . Fabulous album

QUE MUJER

A FUCKING INTERNATIONAL TREASURE

La voz de ella es hermosa, el álbum es hermoso de punta a punta

What a voice. The guitarist needs a raise as well. This album was a beautiful blend of hypnotic jazz, country and soul which left me wanting more.

One I've owned forever. Sooo good! Love her voice and the songs.

45 minutes of sweet nothings being whispered in my ear... Did I just fall in love with Norah Jones? Soulful, sultry vocals over beautiful arrangements. This album reminds me of what it feels like when you first start falling for someone. Don't Know Why

Love it, such a classic

Sexiest album of the millennium? Would also accept For Emma, Forever Ago and Golden Hour as answers.

This came out when my wife and I were moving from a serious relationship to a no, seriously, forever realization. Re-listening to the songs is driving around Seattle pre-wedding, pre-kids, and pre-forever. Makes me smile to hear those memories all over again.

It was really nice, her voice was soothing

This was a fantastic album

Ok but why was it lowkey good tho Edit Mar 22 2026: 4 --> 5. I have been listening to it quite a lot. Fave track is Feelin' The Same Way

I am very familiar with this album and I love everything about it. The harmonies, the sweet songs, the delicate piano playing, and of course Norah's amazing and soothing voice. I can still remember the first time I heard Don't Know Why on the radio and instantly decided I needed the album.

Love this album, love her voice. A glass of wine, a pleasant summers evening and this album is all I need.

Lovely album

Lovely

Beautiful and serene Norah instantly calms the day.

Que voz linda! Amei! Vou ouvir mais vezes.

The "starbucks-vibes" sounds on this album belie the real brilliance and genius that Norah Jones exhibits. I had never heard her music before today, but I'm confident in saying this may be one of the greatest albums ever written. Norah's debut album blends folk singer/songwriter music and contemporary jazz into a gentle, relaxing soundscape that is equal parts melancholic and peaceful, simple and complex. Bonus points for the inclusion of sitar, we need more of that kind of thing in pop music. (something that surprised me until I learned that Norah Jones is the daughter of the incredible Ravi Shankar) This is to say nothing of the *performance* of the songs, which are stunningly executed, yet feel so natural and beautiful. I will be listening to this in future: a) whenever I have anxiety attacks b) any other time I just want to listen to really good music.

Beautiful voice and instrumentals. Subtle yet driving. Big fan of Norah

This is a bit nostalgic for me, but genuinely this is such a beautiful album. Norah Jones has a beautiful voice and the lyrics are so thoughtful. Lovely, sparse instrumentation.

A delight.

so calming and fun

i loved this album. it’s something i would hear in a coffee shop. it has that jazz sound to it, and it’s just so calming

We lived this album. What a voice

Very chill and acoustic. Really good album! Highly recommend for people who like chill music and singer-songwriter hits from the late 60's and 70's

Norah Jones could make me do anything if she asked me in her singing voice. She single handedly took Global Village Coffee House Aesthetic by storm with this one.

I love this album. Norah has such a nice voice and some of these songs are surprisingly groovy. This album was in constant rotation in my van circa 2011/12.

Such an easy 5. What a sonic relief and so pleasant to listen to. Absolutely top notch.

I’m adding this to my list of favorite debut albums. Silky smooth and chill. I for one love this.

9/10. good songs

Precioso

Every time I listen to this album it’s like biting into an Asiago bagel for the first time

If a cozy Sunday morning was an album, it’d be this.

Listened to this 3 times on the bounce... And then bought the vinyl. Gorgeous album!

It's music for drinking tea and doing the crossword on a Sunday morning, and I've thoroughly enjoyed doing just that while listening to it.

I liked it very much it felt like a home I wanted to fill

Very rainy day in the 90s

Okayyyyy!!! I want to sit in a field of flowers with this album playing, and have no worries.

I'm glad I either didn't hang out in coffee shops enough, or I wasn't old enough to experience this record being overplayed. I've heard a couple of Norah Jones' songs in passing, and I enjoyed them. I'm pleased to report that this album is identical to those songs I heard before and more! This record is definitely a new favourite. I'm happy to have found this record on this list! Favourite Track(s): Don't Know Why, Shoot The Moon, Turn Me On, Painter Song Least Favourite Track(s): Come Away With Me

LOVED IT gimme more female artists

Brilliant album from a Texas treasure. She blew us all away with this album!

Perfect album. Every song is excellent. The melodies, the piano, the voice, everything.

Classic

One of the best debut albums. Fantastic jazzy/bluesy album. Several standout songs. This introduced a unique sound at the time. Pitchfork: 7.5 Rolling Stone: n/a Best Songs (SO MANY great songs) Don't Know Why Seven Years Cold Cold Heart Come Away With Me Shoot the Moon Turn Me On Lonestar Nightingale

Timeless classic but also very nostalgic for me. I love her voice and songwriting sm

I love this album, I remember hearing parts of it growing up. The precursor to laufey or this generation’s Corinne Bailey Ray. Solid 5, puts me in a great mood

me encanta porque es como si fuera fiona apple haciendo jazz.

Շատ նյու յորք ռոմքոմ 2010 ա:

I hadn’t heard this since I was like 12. Wow it knocked me off my feet. Amazing music to drive around to at night.

Absoluter Klassiker! Toll toll toll

One of my favs.

Always a favorite

soooo perfect....added so many songs...very much winter vibes... "ive got to see you again" felt like a tango very different but could envision an entire world with the song

I was aware of Norah Jones previously but hadn’t listened to her much. Could’ve done without Cold Cold Heart (Elton John and Dua Lipa did it better) but I found the rest of the album pleasant. I really liked One Flight Down, the rest of the songs were easy listening, and life’s too short to not give out 5s.

*Immediately adds the entire album to my "Songs to Lower Your Blood Pressure" playlist*

Great voice, great mood.

A classic. Nora Jones has a heavenly voice, and this album is sublime. It’s peaceful and soothing and nourishing to the soul. One of those I’ll never tire of. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My fav

Fantastic. Intimate and soulful. Brilliant.

comfort, fall, nostalgic and everything i loved

Ohhh, grew up with this. Wasn't a particularly girly girl, but this...damn.love it.

Reminds me of a very specific time

Love it. Own it.

Superb record! Love her voice! Loved the album when it was first released, and still love it now.

Випало у понеділок, тому прийшлось відкласти роботу

Norah Jones makes such majestic, beautiful music. Every track is somehow so amazingly produced. You feel like she’s playing right there next to you. And the simplicity of the tracks keeps them focused. Love this album.

Threatened with divorce if I didn’t give this 5, luckily it’s a household classic anyway

10/10 great album! Listened to this while cooking and throughout the rest of the evening. Perfect to wind down after a long day. Soft, tender, comforting. Like a warm cup of blueberry tea.

interestingly beautiful, no words

Beautiful and elegant

J'adore N. Jones ! Son album culte !

Oh so mellow

Beautiful voice and soothing music. I just want to lay back in a recliner, close my eye and enjoy this album over and over. While this is classified as pop, the jazz vibes it gives off is the best part for me.

Been in love with this album ever since it released!

Stoked on this album. I actually listened to it a week ago! I got in from a cold walk where I was underdressed for the windchill but then the baby fell asleep in the stroller so I had to keep walking and was super cold when I got home. This album pairs well with tea and coziness. The nostalgia is strong with this one and I spent all day trying to figure out why. It’s one or some of these reasons: - I owned this CD at one point. - I sang Come Away with Me for my high school choir exam. - I had the sheet music for Come Away with Me on piano? Clearly Come Away With Me is my favourite song but I also like Don’t Know Why and Turn Me On

This album feels safe, like a warm hug. Maybe it’s the nostalgia this album brings me, but Norah’s soothing voice brings so much comfort. I could listen to her for hours.

Wore this one out. Love it still.

Rating: 4.8/5 Short Review: Jazz, folk, and therapy had a baby, and she whispers instead of cries. Favorite Track: “Don’t Know Why” — basically the national anthem of people who water their plants at 11 p.m.

A lovely album. I love her voice. The album is sweet and soulful. Like lollies it is a sometimes food rather than an everyday thing. But all in all and good listen

Loved it

Exquisite musicianship and writing

Lovely

Good lord. I could get absolutely lost in her sweet velvety voice. Just sit and listen to nothing else and be enveloped. Music behind her is good, but is not so prevalent to overtake her at any point. Her voice is the focus and dominant part of each song, and she's just incredible. Fantastic album, making me yearn for more of voice.

lovely

This song has a nostalgic feel to it. The chilled vibes are exactly what I needed

Absolutely beautiful album.

Hard to find anything about this album to be critical over... I was only familiar with the the big single "Don't Know Why" which was more nostalgic than anything else. I made the incorrect assumption that this would be a pop album but it seems pretty thoroughly Jazz through and through. Super simple, super smooth an excellent voice and amazing playing. Not surprised this had such wide appeal and is one of the greatest selling albums of all time.

I always forget to listen to Norah jones and when I do, I absolutely love it. Amazing rainy day album that just makes me feel so cozy

Pretty much perfect.

Such an incredibly beautiful album. Norah’s voice is mesmerizing. One of the greatest debuts of all-time.

Going from Ice Cube’s Predator to this is some kind of whiplash. 5/5 Highlights: Don’t Know Why Seven Years Come Away With Me Turn Me On Nightingale

This album was my bedtime album for an entire year. Nothing but love

Eu gostei bastante

Simply stunning. Still.

I love this album very much

This album gets a five, mostly for personal reasons, but it’s also a great album. In my early 20s this album was the most romantic album I had ever heard. Naturally, still being in the dating scene at the time this album was THE Go-To playlist, or dissected for mix tapes. There was something about Norah’s scratchy croon that was endearing, honest, and absolutely beautiful. There is not a bad song on this entire album. Don’t Know Why was a confessional that I think we all experienced, and the Hank Williams Cold Cold Heart was better than the original. Feeling’ the Same Way and Turn Me On are playful love songs, especially the latter with its bluesy drawl. Lonestar was a bit country, and I’ve Got to See You Again was like a sexy Argentinian Tango. The Long Day was the song I used to play on repeat at the end of a long night or week when I wanted to be alone but not lonely. I found comfort in Norah when there was no one else. But Come Away With Me was the first song I danced to with my last girlfriend, and the first song with my wife at our wedding three years later. For me, this is a top album of all time.

Leisurely, groovy, sensuous, almost luxurious - the musicality is so high and the consistency unbeatable.

Oh so cozy, we usually listened to it in the mornings when I was a kid so maybe biased

Easy to love this album. She's a wonderful vocalist, the songs are beautiful, and I love a stand up bass.

Love her

Beautiful album with a lot of outstanding songs. For me, one of the most recognizable voices.

liking the first 3 songs so far, "feelin the same way" reminds me of dorfromantik, super easy listening, relaxing, lots of gituar, vocals, some piano, soothing, "don't know why" best song "turn me on" has good piano and is a little romanitc, "one flight down" is a nice slow jazzy song with good synth/organ and piano

My favorite album of the 21st Century. I absolutely adore this album! 10 ★★★★★

Love her voic and the wonderful musicianship, and the laid-back style is really nice. 5 stars

Ok so I didn’t want to like this. In fact, I have spent the better portion of my life thinking that Norah Jones wasn’t that great. In fact, I actively “shitted” on her and her music (not a very ladylike thing to say, I know). However, I am here to tell you today that this fucks. 5 stars.

Love this. Excellent album

I know just about every word of this album. I owned it on CD back in the day and played it over and over. I now own it on vinyl. It just makes me happy and relaxed. And that's magical.

I wore this cd OUT when I was younger. It felt like a revelation. The lyrics, the music, the vibes, all of it.

This is an old album that I was not familiar with, I REALLY liked it!

A timeless album that feels new and nostalgic at the same time. Listening to this at different moods or under different sound systems makes me hear something new every time. My favorite tracks are "Don't know why", "come away with me", "shoot the moon", and "painter song". However, the whole album is enjoyable.

Such a beautiful & timeless album. Nice to hear it again!!!

Always

The first of these that I owned on disc. Have never gotten tired of it. Many great songs, but "One Flight Down" is my favorite.

prachtig album! zeker al meer dan 50 keer geluisterd

Also already reviewed! But holy shit, love this album.

I have such a soft spot for this album, while nothing new here voice just does it for me

Best album I've heard for years!

Have always liked this

Oh my god. That was such an easy listening and beautiful album. The piano and the instrumentation are lush and her voice and interpretation lead the listener all along. Crazy to think she was 21 at the time and it is so cool to see her evolution with her career. . I know this album is not in the official book and wth, it should be. It was so big at the time and I kinda miss the early 00s. . Easy 5 out of 5!

So smooth

This is a perfect mid-00's montage album. It's fall, you watch the main character go to starbucks, then take the subway waaaaaaay out to their small cramped apartment. They have a great orange cat and friends who were tiny knitted scarves. It's a nice simple life, but they dream of more. By the end of the movie they'll realize this life is worth more than the big city could ever offer (and finally realize that their glasses-wearing friend is who they were really searching for). 5

Something that occasionally comes to my mind is a story I heard from someone I knew who knew someone who knew someone who attended a collage course with Norah Jones. The individual wanted to ask Norah out. I don't recall if he chickened out or he worked up his nerve and she gently turned him down. That's a really lame story and I'm wasting your time, but you know what's not lame and won't waste your time? This album.

This is the 163rd album I’m rating. I don't know who this is but that name seems familiar. Adding to my Playlist - Don't Know Why, Seven Years, Cold Cold Heart, Feelin' the Same Away, Come Away with Me, Shoot the Moon, Lonestar, I've got to See You Again, Painter Song, Nightingale, The Long Day is Over, and The Nearness of You. Not Adding to my Playlist - Nothing. Seven Years - This is so basic that it makes me want to kill myself but it also has a strange allure. All in all I liked 14/14 songs. I've never been to Starbucks so that might be why I like the album.

An interesting history--one of the first documented cases of a "hit song" algorithm predicting how Don't Know Why and Come Away with Me would smash charts. Having grown up with this when Barnes and noble still smelled like coffee instead of rotting restroom, this album always reminds me of a purity jazz hasn't seen since the 2000s. This one will always have a special place in my heart. Cold, Cold Heart is a masterpiece. People who rate this 2 or less probably have never known love or still hold grudges against their exes.

Very beautiful album, I enjoy the jazzy instrumentals that are paired with the emotional vocals. This album really impressed me!

Perfect from front to back

So good! Loved this. Good Sunday morning slow wake up vibes. Definitely will be on repeat when I'm holidaying

I'm a sucker for good vocals and Norah's voice is just beautiful. This album is great, her descriptions of love and interworking's of it are descriptive and vivid, The album opens and concludes on such a sweet, loving note and the ideas and creative directions explored vary enough for none of the content to get old or bland. All-around a lovely album!

Smooth good voice, reminds me of Sade

I already own this album and it is one of my favorites.

Pesfesto para echarte un café tranquilico

This is a favorite album of mine, so it is nice to revisit.

nice voice

Classic. Everything lands.

A favorite. I listened to this a LOT back in the day. Still holds up. Love Norah.

This is such a great album.

Her voice is beautiful

Just lovely

This is a well produced album of some wonderful songs to soothe the soul

Now THIS is the singer/songwriter jazzy shnazzy singing about relationships type music I was hoping to hear from this project. Nora’s vocals are so emotionally charged and the backing music compliments it so well

In my regular chill music rotation!

Lovely jazz/country soulful songs. This feels like a warm bourbon drunk on a rainy night. All y'all haters can stick it.

The perfect unpretentious jazz record. Not a note out of place.

Makes me think of Dad.

Beautiful album.

One of my favorite albums.

I’ve always had a soft spot for this record since it was released, and especially given her ties to North Texas. Normally I’d be rating down due to its length, but man…hard to argue with much of this as each song really does live on its own. An excellent example of less is more, with minimalist approach to instrumentation and production which allows air, space and breath to also exist as their own instruments. All wrapped up behind the really great vocal control of Norah. Just a really great record that bridges the gap between traditional and modern. 4.75/5

I love this album. Perfect for that Saturday or Sunday morning when you’re up before everyone else and need something chill and relaxing. Don’t know why is prob one of my least favorite songs on this. Come Away With Me is one I could listen to thousands of times and never get tired. I also love the guitar solo on that song. So simple but great tone, pacing and emotion. I also accept the challenge Norah has posed to me on the 7th track. 4.5 but I gotta round this up.

Fløyel. Helgestemning.

Great as background work music

I was so excited to revisit this album. My mother played a few songs off of it fairly often when I was a child, and I forgot just how much I loved it. Norah Jones has such a lovely, soft voice. I appreciate her talent and songs even more now as an adult. Her songs are very soothing with beautiful, emotional lyrics. This is an all acoustic album, which made it all the more impressive that it kept my focus from first song to last. There's no theatrics, no exciting instruments. Just a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice singing along to the acoustic guitar and every second of it is perfection. I would listen to this album regardless of my mood and not skip a single song.

This is a beautiful, soulful album. When this was released, I remember being so blown away by her beautiful voice and stunning arrangements. She has continued making great albums through the years and she just keeps getting better.

I vaguely remember this when it came out, but definitely slipped by me. It's kind of odd, some of the music is pretty heavily influenced by country/western, but since her voice doesn't get into the whiny/nasally range of most of that, it worked well. Makes me understand I don't dislike country as a style of music, I just dislike the whiny noises the people that 'sing' it create.

Heerlijk album! Als ik dit album hoor ben ik terug in de 12e klas: de ervaringen van Findhorn en een hele gebalanceerde, harmonieuze en positieve mindset die ik hieraan overhield.

Fucking beatyfull. Reminds me of diner with my parents when i was young, before they got divorced. Makes me feel all kinds of happiness, sadness and nostalgia. For me personally, truly a work of art. 5/5

This is the kind of album that’s perfect for a rainy day in a cafe, a beautiful sunny day in the park feeling the breeze while sitting under a tree, an easy listening day drive, a night alone for dinner, a romantic jazz night in. You name it and the album fits. It’s romantic, easy listening, relaxing, soothing and soft. The album makes me feel like I’m in a dreamland of milk and honey. Sweet and soft. Norah Jones’ soft, soothing voice hits all the notes in a perfectly beautiful way where it doesn’t feel over the top, it’s just the right amount. Her lyrics tell stories through each song. The songwriting is excellent and the instrumentals that work alongside her are perfectly collaborative with her vocals. “Painter Song” really resonated with me as I myself always wish I could paint my dreams, my wishes, my memories. It’s such a simple thought and feeling and yet she makes it so special and beautiful. Then there’s “Turn Me On” she takes a more soulful approach and somehow still makes it soft, but sexy. I really enjoyed how she carried throughout the album. Learning that Norah Jones is the daughter of the late Ravi Shankar surprised me, (though my parents thought it was old news), but I didn’t know that. It made sense since she looked racially ambiguous to me. Couldn’t help but want to learn more about her, her background, and her artistry. Couldn’t find much about her which I appreciated as well. Added to her allure and mystery. Overall, I found this album to be a beautiful vocal jazz album. I was pleasantly surprised when I was assigned this album by the generator because I was already familiar with many of the songs from this album and was so happy to get right into it. Perfect album in my opinion! Standout Tracks: “Don’t Know Why”, “Cold Cold Heart”, “Come Away With Me”, “Turn Me On”, “Lonestar”, “Painter Song”, “One Flight Down”, “Nightingale”, and “The Nearness of You”

One of the most beautiful albums out there. Like smooth caramel, a cozy blanket. Her debut, an absolute classic.

I really have and had a soft spot for Norah Jones. This album is great and mellow with all the right ups and downs.

ich mochte die musik von norah jones schon immer. ruhige balladen mit einer exzellenten stimme.

Hell yeah Norah Jones, love her Christmas Album too

wedding song on this album

Perfectly produced

Purely subjective, but this was the vibe I needed today. Ask me tomorrow and you might get a different answer. This album is beautiful and cool.

Una delicia de disco!

Love it, but takes me back to a weird time

Relax and enjoy

A lot of reviews here shitting on Norah Jones for being nothing more than corporate coffeehouse background music. Hey man, I love coffee (and owning Starbucks stock)! More so, I love chill vibes, and NJ delivers that. Her voice is so calming and clear. For the last twenty years, if I’ve wanted to turn off the noise, NJ has been a go-to. Her debut is one of her best albums too. I really enjoyed revisiting this, even though I just listened through her discography again a month or so ago.

Off the charts

There is a very specific subgenre of music that involves solo female vocalists featured in vibe albums. Now I'm normally a rock & roll kinda guy, but there's something about albums like this that just hits the spot with me. I just vibe to it. 5 stars.

lovely. very chill. love the vibes

Great songs, perfect for the bath after finishing a long run.

She has such a smooth and jazzy voice. Could have used maybe a little variety, but overall a great listen. Would listen to it again for sure.

She's got a wonderful voice, absolutely beautiful accompaniment, very nice and cozy feel to this. Great album from top to bottom I really loved this.

Was great then, and it still is.

Fantastic album, great song choices and performances.

Between a four and a five

Timeless feel. Smoky vocals. I'd like to have her in my living room singing at a party. The extended deluxe album has some good cuts.

Едва ли не идеальный альбом для семейного прослушивания. Очень ярких песен вроде бы нет, но вся пластинка целиком создаёт неповторимое ощущение спокойного уюта и тихого семейного счастья. 8,5 из 10.

Lovely relaxing music remimding me of being young :))

smooth jazzy-pop and a great voice

I remember Bill Maher calling this album something like “music to sleep with your trophy wife to” I loved the whole album then and I love it now.

I know it's supposed to be saccharine coffee shop music but I really love the intimate tone and casual feel of this record. Kind of reminds me of Dusty Springfield.

Wow what a voice! She could - as they say ‘make a living singing the menu’. I could listen a good long time.

Extremely poppy jazz. The production quality is insane. Not the kind of thing I bop to, but this is an undeniably good record. 5/5

Really enjoyed this

don’t listen but I need

wow. this was my favourite so far. such a great voice and awesome warm jazzy piano. great

This album is a peaceful Saturday morning watching the rain from your porch.

A beautiful album that has stood the test of time and radio overplay

Beautiful

It's been a long time since I listened to this start to finish and I didn't know how much I had missed it

great voice, nice listen

I remember seeing Norah jones at Glastonbury - it was a lovely sunny day, I was lying in the grass, listening to these songs and was completely smitten. The album takes me back, great stuff

I have such a soft spot for Norah Jones of that era (Come Away With Me, Feels Like Home). My then-girlfriend and I were at a park, sun was shining. We were young and in love. She gave me one of her earbuds and played Sunrise to me. I think of that moment whenever I hear the song and I think of that song whenever I hear Norah Jones. Happy memory!

Beautiful

this is my mood for 2025

Don't Know Why reminds me of sitting on my parents porch in West Texas sipping wine and watching the sun retreat. It's family. Warm. Comforting. She can really take you to another world. An incredible voice...like a bedtime story.

Norah I love you

Oh I know this one, it sounds like home, my mom’s favorite singer and artist ♥️

Lovely album, great musical content

The perfect album to have in the background to chill out or cook to. I spun it a few times to get more acquainted with the tracks because Norah Jones is new to me and is critically acclaimed (especially for this album). Favorites: If I were A Painter, Seven Years, Nightingale I didn’t dislike any tracks, but some weren’t as unique as others. I loved Norahs country like vocals (raspy and twangy). 4.5 stars, rounding up

Timeless. Great album for a Sunday morning lie in. Mellow easy listening jazzy piano songs.

Such a well-imagined and beautifully executed collection of songs that pulls you into a world better than the one you live in.

Love Norah jones

What a voice. Really dig this.

Beautiful album. Her voice is like an instrument in its own right. And recorded so well. An old fashioned, listen to it all the way through type of album. Perfection.

This album was so so so good. It was amazing. I loved it so much and now I want to listen to more of Norah Jones's stuff. This is not an album I would listen to on my own normally and now I am so happy I checked it out. Loved it so much. The instrumentation, her voice, the writing, the lyrics...all great. A few songs felt redundant but otherwise near perfect. Actual rating...a 4.5. Liked Songs: "Don't Know Why" , "Seven Years" , Feelin' The Same Way" , "Shoot The Moon" , "I've Got To See You Again" , "One Flight Down" , "Nightingale" , "The Long Day Is Over"

Vibey. Almost a jam band at points. A few really poignant songs

Lovely way to start the day

This is one of those albums which has a reputation as the musical equivalent of coffee table books; everyone had a copy in the early '00s and it was mostly played low, as background music, at a wine and cheese party... Come Away With Me is actually much better than that. Norah Jones's smoky voice and deceptively simple piano playing are sublime; some of her chord voicings are stunningly good. The backing musicians are excellent, the light jazz/country ballads uniformly good. Don't Know Why is a torch song that can stand with the best of the American Songbook greats.

Mommy loved the most popular song on that album and it comforted me in the morning. Good stuff.

Excellent album!

so fun and pretty, classic.

You probably can’t make this genre any better, than Norah Jones does on Come Away With Me. The title track is so hauntingly beautiful that it could carry this entire album alone. Thankfully it doesn’t have to.

One of the best albums of all time. I've listened to it hundreds of times and it got me through so many rough patches in life.

i melt into this one. Pure relaxation

V lovely

I was not expecting to love this album as much as I did, which just shows my ignorance on Norah Jones. Simply fabulous, one of the best things I've discovered in this project. Sultry voice, smooth jazz, simply fantastic

6 out 5. Would listen to this anytime!

Not enough stars to rate this album!

One of the greatest stress-relieving albums of all time. Just perfect.

Great album

I understand all the Starbucks references in the reviews, accompanied by 2 star ratings. I also understand all the 5 star ratings. I'm giving her 5 stars for doing something this good at age 22.

So chill. A classic

It's strange listening to this on November 6, 2024, the day that orange, deranged, monstrous criminal won a sickening second term as US president. This didn't fit the mood at all, but that didn't take away from how fantastic this album is. I was already familiar with "Don't Know Why" and "Turn Me On", two tracks I absolutely love, so I was really excited to listen to this. This album is intimate, soulful, and gorgeous. Norah Jones' voice is soothing and smooth, and this was an excellent listen, despite the circumstances.

This one has the first dance song from my wedding, so probably need to give it 5 stars. Every song on this one is solid.

Norah Jones manages to keep a very consistent cozy vibe throughout this record without being repetitive. Her soothing vocals combined with the soft tone of the instrumentals make this a perfect winter/rainy day listen. No songs really worth skipping on this album for me. Notable Tracks: - Don't Know Why - Seven Years - Feelin' The Same Way - Come Away With Me - Turn Me On - Lonestar - Nightingale - The Long Day Is Over 9.5/10

Loved it. Her voice is soothing like maple syrup.

#73 - grew up with this! Also didn't know she was the daughter of Ravi Shankar!

Beauty

A classic album one of the best of the 2000s

Easy listen. Really like this one! 5/5

Okay, now this is my jam. Way to start the morning. I'm confident now because of this album. This album sounds like a great cup of coffee, and I dont even drink coffee hahaha. She also looks lovely! I wanna date her.

Great album. Pairs well with other jazz classics on the list like Dave Brubeck - Time Out and Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

Love my girl Norah! Fee up listening to her because she was one of my mons favorites. Fav song: come away with me- a classic Least fav: nightingale Fav lyric: don’t know why I didn’t cum :(

I love this album, but I cant really listen to it as much as I used to because we had it play so often during clinic when I was going through college.

Never thought I’d reach that age where this sounds right, but alas I have reached that age. Well sung and recorded. Kind of forget sometimes that there’s actually singer songwriters who can you know. Sing and wrote songs. Without a bunch of over-production. First came to Norah through her great renditions of Black Hole Sun and the Beatles’ I’ve got a Feeling. Nice to spend some time with her originals as well.

This is a perfect album that holds so much personal meaning for me.

Incredible voice. Just a pleasantly relaxing album.

It's not easy to combine jazz and standards and country and make it sound so good. Norah Jones's debut was sublime.

The last great mainstream jazz album? A great mainstream jazz album? She’s good. She can carry a tune and invest it with all the things you need. That some of the tunes are a little dull is certainly more a product of the time than any failing on her behalf. But she has a monster group of musicians and that she diverts from textbook jazz is also a strong mark in her favour. Worth a listen. 4.5

Put on the big speakers. Its a sound stage album. Its clarity playful light and breezy jazziness and soul and somehow a unququeness that just got too unquiquitous and worn out... now Ive ignored it for a decade I can hear it again , and Wow yeah, what it does. it does well. The soother. Not the albums fault it was overplayed or had mass appeal. I beleive I have the HD version somewhere. perfect for lsitenign to the vibrations between vibrations, and losing time.

Her voice is so soothing

Probably the most soothing album we’ve had so far. Nora Jones’ voice comes over you like a wave and you just kinda float off with the smooth jazz backing, the experience is unmatched. I am very familiar with this album and getting to come back to it is always a treat. Even with this album being two decades old, it still holds up. I’ll accept that the length might be a drawback and that it’s not something you’d play all the time, but that only brings me down to a four and a half and I’m gonna round up.

Her voice is so smooth and relaxing. Great album, really enjoyed it.

This one was amazing, a course on how to play more by playing less, lovingly minimalistic... No hits, so no individual song stays with you but you'll remember the overall feeling of the record...

So smooth. so easy to listen to. I could listen to her all night and all day. Great album and a great voice. she is spectacular!

Akkora öt csillag, mint a ház, full vibe!
