0 stars. Get this terrible human off of this list.
Not my usual style, but really appreciate it. I could almost feel myself vibrate.

Worth the search for it on YouTube. The sound is well before its time! But gotta be real, I'm never drawn to discordant sound and there was a bit too much of it for my taste.
This album was a bit low energy for me. Black Plant was my fave song on the album.
I still remember discovering Bob Dylan through my parent's vinyl collection when I was around 8 or 9 and how stoked I was to find out he was still alive. It was this very album I first heard. It's a treasure. He's a treasure.
This list of albums seems to be heavily weighted towards one genre...
More bangers on this than I realized.
New to me but dang, that was good.
Super fun.
Surprisingly really liked this.
Discovered I had a wrong impression of Alice Cooper.
Glad to be introduced to different genres. But... not a lot here.
Love this ish.
Love SP, but they have better albums.
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did.
Eh. I know its a classic but very hard to get into. The songs just wouldn't end.
Meh. Didn't hook me.
Big fan of Coltrane but this isn't my fave album of his by a long shot.
Surprised this album was chosen. Like the Talking Heads, but this album isn't their best.
Fairytale of New York carried this album.
Not bad.
Not bad. But another one where one song carried most of the album.
A little lost listening to this. Nothing to hang my hat on though I can tell they're talented, of course. Just not for me.
10 min. long songs aren't my jam.
It's hard not to rank albums higher because you have good memories with it. However, just a couple of songs carried this one.
She's got better albums... but this was more than a one-hit album.
Oh.... no. Not for me. Really unpleasant and discordant.
I like the Allman Brothers, but this album didn't showcase what's best about them. And the live format didn't add anything....
Not my style but a solid album.
Such a classic!!!
No skips. 10/10. First album I ever bought at a used CD shop in middle school. Perfect then and perfect now.
Love Sufjan's creativity and story telling.
Not bad... but really carried by the few hits.
So low energy... really didn't hook me at all. Kind of forgot it was on.
Pretty lackluster.
I appreciate what they were attempting with this album... but there are better S&G albums for sure.
Massively low energy. I just can't vibe with it.
Not a massive fan of live albums.
Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would!!
Can't listen to Kanye and give him another cent in royalties.
Only one song really hooked me the whole time. "Lake of Fire" was great but the rest was okay.
So many good songs on one album. But something about it is a little cringe.
I bought this album at a used CD store in my youth and it still slaps.
Solid. But really only one or two songs I go back to.
Loooong album without much.
Carried by two songs. But those two songs... wow.
I think I need a better sound system to fully appreciate this album. But some really gorgeous stuff nonetheless.
Pretty fun and very 90s.
Love the quality of his voice. A very easy listen as well.
I dunno, man. I love the Artic Monkeys but literally every other album of theirs is better.
Love the Beatles. This album isn't their best. Their innovation and energy is missing in it.
Honestly, easier listening than I expected and enjoyable from start to end.
Just not my jam.
Very easy listening.
Hard to judge a Christmas album objectively... but these are hits and its solid from beginning to end.
Love Joni but this is not her best album.
Iconic.
"As we go up, we go down" was a song I heard once and loved... and never found again until now! Was not familiar at all with this band, but I really dig the absolute 90s of it all.
This album is more of a downer than I remember. Hah! A classic, for sure, but just not my personal speed.
Oh....
Groovy. Enjoyed this one more than I imagined I would.
I just find this stuff cold and uninspired.
Not terrible... but definitely not a genre I can sit and listen to a whole album in one go. Bored to tears.
I am trying hard to have an open mind. But, damn this give me the sads.
Forgot how good this album was. We used to make collages in High School with this album on heavy rotation. Good mems.
Perfectly pleasant.... but nothing really stood out to me.
LOVE! So fun. But... it could've used with a little editing. hah. Or maybe I listened to a DEEEluxe version by accident.
Mellow with some fun gems.
Until this exercise, I did not know I liked Black Sabbath.
Absolutely slaps.
Carried by the one song... but what a song.
Fun and highly listenable.
Solid album. Enjoyed having it on and picked up a few new songs to go back to.
Damn. She was so good. No misses. Perfect album.
Classic. Maybe not my fave but I get it.
So, so 80s. But enjoyable.
My God, they were soooo good.
Beautiful album.
Talentless.
Enjoyed this.
The voice.....
Now I'm mad I'd never listened to them. This rocked.
Super fun. I had a good time and listened to more beyond this album.
What a sound. And so much packed in.
Beautiful.
Go Tina! A CMBC artist too. Mad respect to her after that ep.
Lovin the energy.
Some really beautiful tunes.
Okay, had never heard of these peeps but I dig. Could see myself turning on the "radio" for this group on spotify and jamming all afternoon.
Good. But dang, it's long.
Really fun album.
Not bad... but kinda boring.
What a party of an album. THIS is how a live album should be.
Really epic sound. This album helped me survive middle school.
I needed this positivity. Really fun album experience.
Nothing compares to Poses.... but this one is pretty alright. Love the quality of his voice and the quirkiness of his everything.
Truly iconic. (Could've done with a little editing tho....)
So many hits. Scenes from an Italian Restaurant will forever be a fave of mine. And Movin Out!!! I remember listening to this album on my iPod my first time in NYC in high school because it just seemed like a New York soundtrack.
Solid... But, I'll be real. Me and Texans do not vibe.
Dirty Work is such a banger. And Reelin' in the Years.... the rest were pretty dang enjoyable as well. But those two... genius.
Meh. Kind of a wandering disjointed mess.
Very easy to listen to the whole thing... but kind of all blended together.
Not my usual genre, but this was really easy to get into.
Gorgeous. But what a downer. Hah.
He has much more iconic albums... This one is really carried by the title track, no?
You know what? Hell yea.
10/10 energy. 10/10 advocacy. 10/10 talent. And this is why we got Merle Haggard. What is not to be wowed by?
No strong feelings about this one. But, 'twas a good listening experience.
So gooooood. Total 90's dream.
Love Wild Horses so, so much. The rest was kinda.... just alright.
Really fun sound.
Okay! Fun AF.
I like Willie... but this list has A LOT of Willie, no? haha
Good but the sound was a little repetitive.
New to me. Some fun lyrics.
Some really fun shii on this one.
Electronic sounds in music is really, really not my jam. Heads Will Roll is really damn good tho.
The Pixies' sound has always been a bit too busy for my taste. So much happening.
Totally forgot this was playing in the background. A snoozefest.
Grew up playing the banjo in Appalachia, so appreciated hearing the classics. But, I greatly prefer all of their 80's stuff more.
New to me! This is why I love this project. Very cool sound. Glad for the introduction... but, gotta admit there was no particular song that hooked me. Still, a fun listening experience.
Meh. Felt like the instruments overpowered the voice/lyrics on my most songs.
Lovesong was my fave. But, I'll be real, their songs go on way too long.
Okay 80s vibes.
Bit too much electric guitar wailing for my taste. But some good lyrics and jams for sure.
It's okay... really baffling why this is on the list though.
4.5.... RESPECT is an insane banger. I can only imagine hearing if for the first time. Damn. Also, Change is Going to Come is sooo good. But, the rest of the songs on the album didn't really match the vibe of those two and so album-wise it's missing a bit of glue.
Much more consistent album than I Never Loved a Man The Way I Loved You. Damn good jams start to finish.
Loved the energy and expression.
Hella long. Wow. Not my style, but I recognize the talent.
Really distinctive sound.
Wow. I was bored outta my gourd with this one.
The talking stuff was kind of.... interesting. But, the rest were good jams.
0 stars. Get this terrible human off of this list.
I was pretty bored by this one. Hard to finish.
Loved this. Felt very fresh and not at all like it was from 1968.
Very fun. Don't know if I will revisit, but definitely enjoyed it playing while I was working.
Just not my style. Very busy and dischordant.
I think my fave Bowie album.
I'm a fan of Steely Dan, but this album falls a little flat for me.
They know how to live album.
Hit after hit after hit.
He's got talent. I was just a smidge bored.
Prince is excellent. This album isn't my fave.
Hard to find the plot of the album through the noise.
Can't wait to see her this Summer. Love Gillian's voice.
Apt it came up yesterday. RIP. (Not my fave album of theirs tho.)
Loved the heck out of this.
Really fun sound and some phenomenal songs. However, definitely felt like some of the songs were just fillers.
Cherish was a new one for me! But, the whole album is so poppy and fun.
A fun one to put on. Enjoyed the whole thing but no one song grabbed me.
Chills. I love every one of these songs (literally, no fillers), but don't think I have ever sat and listened to the album in one go. HOLY WOW. I'm continually jealous that Stevie Nicks got to sing devastating break up songs right to her ex's face.
Got kind of tedious after a time.
Um, how have I never heard of her? Very enjoyable experience.
This album forever reminds me of my older brother.
Fun sound and an easy listen.
The title track isn't my fave... but the rest of the album is bangin'
Not my usual genre but highly listenable.
I was obsessed with this album one Summer road tripping through Italy. Found it from the first track but the whole album is such a vibe.
Meh. Very confusing this is on the list.
Quite the sound. And so many bops.
A fun and enjoyable experience.
ngl, a lot of that was painful on the ole' ears.
Some good deeper cuts on this album I had never considered.
Meh. Kind of repetitive after a long while....
Super fun sound. Curious why it's not on spotify?
I can tell they had fun. Glad the album wasn't longer tho, I'll be real. There is only so much guitar wailin one can take.
More hits than I realized!
Conflicted on this one. Nick Drake has some bangers... but this album as a whole experienced in one sitting really dragged on for me.
Definitely some enjoyable hits. But as a cohesive album, it's just pretty alright.
Real 90s nostalgia. Glad to be re-introduced to this one. Docked a star (and a half, tbh) for some of the songs in the middle of the album that did not vibe.
Pleasant and at-times ephemeral. Probably won't go back for much of the album, but glad for the introduction.
Damn. That was good.
Meh. I get lost in the noise on most of these songs. I kept finding myself turning the volume lower and lower and lower.
Very pleasant! But, not all that memorable.
Iconic.
Okay, took me ages to find this exact album. BUT, my high school boyfriend was OBSESSED with Fats. This album takes me right back to his pickup truck. I'm sufficiently impressed with this dude and always have been. The swagger in the music is off the charts.
While he certainly has some great stuff... this album wasn't it. A real snooze fest.
The hits kept coming on this one. I can't explain it, but the Pixies occupy a nostalgic place in my brain that is also occupied by the hit Nickelodeon show "Pete & Pete".
Lol. This was a fun, quirky ride.
I wore this cd OUT when I was younger. It felt like a revelation. The lyrics, the music, the vibes, all of it.
The absolute chokehold this album on me had on me the summer it came out....
Fun jams.... but nothing I go back to. After a while they all kinda sound the exact same too, no?
I get its art. But, wow, so painful.
Sometimes I forget how dated this list is. I'd be curious to see if this one stood the test of time if this list were made today. Anyway, it was fine for background music as I worked today. But, I wondered at one point if I accidentally had "repeat track" on. I hadn't.
This album occupies a very fuzzy part of my childhood memories. I think all the adults in my life as a kid loved it and it's in the background of so many memories. For good reason.
I listen to all these albums while I work but I had to save this one for the gym because I couldn't hear myself think with all of the words they were droppin. The energy was off the charts, though.
I don't really get why this was on the list...
Would've loved it without the electronics inserted in. But... I get that is the whole point of the album. I just don't get electronic music. It makes me feel big sad.
Some real hits. But the album, as a whole, didn't gel for me.
Meh. I understand this album was significant in Bowie's artistic journey... but there are already SO MANY Bowie albums on this list. This one doesn't stand out for me.
This album is really a cohesive one and he's a master of words.
Meh. Not a huge fan of the campy, dark genre.
This album was really sweet.
Enjoyable album. This is the reason why I wanted to do this project- to discover stuff like this!
Can't believe this list has four (4)(!!!!) Blur albums on it. Not to tell too obvious of a joke, but these songs really blurred together with all the rest of their stuff.
Good... but nothing special. I did, however, appreciate the curation/editing. A tight album seems rare from what I've noticed.
Pleasantly surprised by this one. 3.5
Fine.
Really enjoyed the guitar on this one. And I felt it was really well curated.
Icon. This is so cohesive as an album experience.
Still get chills from "When I Come Around". This album is very much of its time... and transforms me right back there.
Some good, bland 90s pop rock. Meh.
I like an album that tells a story. And his voice is always so haunting. Solid.
Just found out there are THREE (3!!!) Kraftwerk albums on this list. Insanity. One could perhaps make some semblance of sense... but so many baffles the mind. Talentless, meandering blandness.
Fun, cohesive album.
That was really fun.
LOVE. Picked up some new ones for the rotation (Black Rose and Ride Me Down Easy). Honestly, this list is sorely lacking on country albums, imho.
Kept wondering when the songs would actually begin. Did they ever begin?
Okay, go off. So many bops!!
Super mellow but very pleasant experience.
Incredibly fun and listenable. Also, didn't realize this was the start of it.
I get that this is boundary-pushing and experimental. The stars are for the creativity. But, wow.... makes me feel like my brain is on a cheese grater.
Breaking Up Slowly gets me every.damn.time. Lyrically, I love the hell out of this album.
I get why its on here... It's an important album. But, dang... every song sounds the same after some time. And holy misogyny.
Really dig their sound.
Incredible voice! Appreciated all of the banter as well. :)
Not my fave album of theirs, but still solid. I do always love "Knives Out" when I encounter it.
Fun and interesting. Probably won't go back for re-listens but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Look, it's sad and deep. Very poignant. But NINE David Bowie albums on this list? Come on....
I understand why it's on here but, pretty painful on the ole ears nonetheless. Many skips.
Kind of a fun Halloween album. I bet in 1968, stumbling upon this was probably trippy AF.
Love a good live album of someone who can really sing.
Iconic.
Not as unpleasant as I feared. Some songs I even listened to the whole way through without having to exercise much self control. But still not my scene and struggling to understand the appeal. The voice!!
Insanely too much Kraftwerk. And Bowie. Make it stop.
One area where this list really excels is 90's rock/indie.
Wish You Were Here is bangin'.... the rest of the album is such a snooze. Shoulda' been a single.
Falls kind of flat as an album (and I'm a Steely Dan fan). I'm discovering that there are four Steely Dan albums on this list! All that is needed is "Can't Buy a Thrill", imho. The rest on here is kind of insanity.
Enjoyed the absolute hell out of this.
Just okay. Crazy that this album made it on the list over Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. Love the Flaming Lips... just a baffled by this selection (though knowing what know about this list's love for electronic, I guess it makes sense). This album, for me, is one my least favorite of theirs if not the least.
I knew I was going to enjoy this album for the nostalgia factor... but it was even better than I remembered. Really fun listening experience from start to finish.
Not a single miss. Box of Rain was my first introduction to the Grateful Dead in middle school and I've been a gigantic fan ever since. The lyrics, the vibes, the everything....!
Are they okay?
I'm a bigger fan of her solo stuff. But really liked 50ftQueenie off of this album.
Really fun unexpected find for me.
Really fun, rich sound.
Not the worst. Dare I say the best electronic album I've encountered? I didn't feel like my soul was being surgically extracted from my human body while listening. A win.
Okay, such a vibe! I loved this one.
Such a vibe!!!
Cool. Can't say I was very familiar with "Ambient Rock" before this album. I can dig.
Several transitions in the songs were really awkwardly abrupt. Didn't get it.
Appreciate Ice-T.
Absolutely respect what they're creatin'
An important album for sure. But really the only song that hooked me was "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere"
Such a vibe.
2.5 A bit too cheese.
Honestly liked it more than I thought I would.
He's a misogynistic jerk.... but dang this is a good album.
So many good ones on this. But dang, Helter Skelter always hits and I don't know why I ever forget it.
Meh. Kind of all blended together.
Life's a Beach was okay. The rest was kind of discordant and blah.
Icon. But, not my fave album of his.
Fine background music. But overall a real yawn.
Really ended up enjoying this one and checking out their other stuff as well.
Okay, loved this.
Some really solid songs on here. Gotta admit, however, that the interludes didn't add much to the experience for me.
Yep. It's britpop. Kind of really yawn.
Another baffling inclusion. It was... fine.
My fave of hers still remains Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.
Get why its on here... But my watch told me to relax three times while listening to this because my heartrate was spiking. I absolutely don't get the desire to fray your nerves in this manner.
Some real gems on here. Listening to this instantly transported me back to being babysat in the 90s by my older cousins (especially remember being terrified in the back of their cars with Aerosmith blaring).
Undoubtedly carried by the title track but I also really enjoyed a couple of others-most notably Train in Vain (Stand by Me).
Her talent is insane.
Enjoyed this way more than any other I've heard in the genre. Felt like it had a story.
I have complicated feelings about their personal stances on certain issues.... BUT, I'd be lying if I said this album didn't slap. When I was learning to drive in my dad's old beater pickup truck, this was one of the cassettes we'd listen to and Three Steps never fails to remind me of the taste of freedom.
This genre is very yawn. Nothing offensive about this album... but nothing grabbing either.
There's something in this world for everyone. This was not for me.
Dark Industrial is a genre I don't quite grasp, despite efforts. But, this album was listenable.
I once dated a British guy who was shocked and appalled I'd never heard of the Stone Roses. That was valid. I could rock out to "I am the Resurrection" on repeat for long stretches. This whole album is pretty bingeable (with some duds in the middle).
This was so cheesy! (In a fun way.)
That was fun. I have no desire to revisit but glad for the listen.
Some classics... and a lot of filler! The trend to have "interludes" between songs was such a weird 90s thing. Glad it has been mostly scrapped. Hah.
A classic for a reason. Great overall album but Venus in Furs is always a repeat track for me.
Some really gorgeous stuff.
What a snoozefest. For such a short album, I really checked the clock a lot.
3.5- really enjoyed jamming to this one.
Okay, love this sound! Will definitely be checking out the rest of their albums. 3.5
Pretty okay BritRock
Yep, still slaps.
Honestly, this slaps way more than I thought it would. Enjoyed the trance it put me in.
Okay, fun. Stoked that I was introduced to this. 3.5
Dang, mad I didn’t discover earlier.
Some beautiful stuff but the low energy kind of made me drag at certain points in the listening experience.
3.5- fun experience.
Carried by Two Weeks, imho.
I know art should explore themes like this and make possibly make you feel uncomfortable. And, in that regard, I would have been more interested in this album in a museum of other arty context. Just listening to it, it was a hard one.
Vincent always gives me chills.
Iconic.
What an important album. The disillusionment is really resonating with me right now…
Okay, loved.
Really solid.
The amount of Steely Dan on this list really amuses me.
Not my usual style, but really appreciate it. I could almost feel myself vibrate.
Incredibly listenable.
Loathed the first song. The rest were surprisingly doable thereafter. But... nothing really "hook"ed me.
One of the most accessible electronic albums I've ever listened to. I've never actually enjoyed an electronic/synth pop album. I'm feeling weird.
This tickled me (the lyrics!). In a good way.
That's it?
Soul sucking. Soul crushing. Just..... why?
More listenable than I originally feared.
Super fun album.
I remember listening to this album for the first time on an airplane and absolutely vibing for the entirety. And yep.... still hits just the same.
No misses.
Iconic. If my mom hadn't banned me from listening to this as a kid, I might not have sought it out as hard. I thank her for the inspiration.
Rounded up to 3.5. Really dug the vibes.
I always forget how heavily UK-focused this list is until I see stuff like this.
Forgot how much of a banger this album is. Saw them on tour when this album was out. Good mems screaming I Am Trying to Break Your Heart.
Can't believe she was 19 when she made this! Something to like about each song. Limitless talent!
