Gentle. Very rambly. Like Simon and Garfunkel without the choruses. Quite liked the last song.

I know its a classic, but its just okay to me.

I mean, it was good. I think it’s just not for me. I do enjoy their album CSN (1977), so I thought I’d like this one but I just got bored. Few good songs on it, but at this time in my life, none I’d replay.

OK. I made some inroads into understanding why people like Crosby, Stills, Nash (and the other one on the other albums). I guess if you grew up listening to The Hollies, The Byrd's and Buffalo Springfield, this is an interesting mix of those differing styles. However, I'm not in my late seventies.

Pretty dull. The type of shit I ate up at 14 but grew to despise by 18. Now at 34 I feel mostly ambivalent about it.

But for the three hits on this song and the one song where the singers just kind of hum or say nonsense as the lyrics , I would be unable to pick any songs that are distinguished from the others. It's not terrible just very much what you'd expect.

These guys are really good, they should recruit a fourth, perhaps Younger, member

I expected to like this but a little too rough on the edges for me

I will say that I didn't hate this anywhere near as much as I expected to. It's an easygoing listen, with a handful of decent offerings and a jubilant cheer pulsing throughout, but on the whole, this one became tiresome quickly for me. I found my attention ebbing and flowing between the busier, more "rock" oriented passages and the relatively non-descript folk ones. After about 5 tracks, I thought I was on for the home stretch, only to realise that there were nine left to go. "49 Bye-Byes" is the final track proper, which is an appropriate note to wrap things up on, but the Spotify version of the album adds four superfluous, dirging acoustic tracks into the mix.

4/10 I don't know how much of my feeling for this album is impacted by the fact that there have been 56 years of rock music that have happened since it was released and I'm unconsciously comparing it to all of that, but it just didn't engage with me. There have been old albums I've been introduced to during this project that have really grabbed me though, so perhaps that's not it. In general, I feel like there's never really a hook that grabs me, or anything particularly interesting for me to engage with, it's just a bit of a wash of inoffensive pleasantry. Not bad, just not that interesting either. It never generates the tempo and drive to really rock, but I also don't feel the nuance to make it a particularly interesting technical listen either. I think the elements of this album that I do like, I can find in better quantities, of higher quality, elsewhere. If I wanted beautiful harmonies, I'd go for the Beach Boys or (closer to this stylistically) The Beatles. If I wanted bluesy rock, I'd be grabbing Led Zeppelin, for more folky edged stuff, Joni Mitchell etc etc. And that's just considering music that is somewhat contemporary to this. All that being said, I can appreciate the musicianship present here. Their harmonies, although not stylistically my favourite, are tight. The guitar playing in particular has some really quality moments and I really like a few of the organ lines scattered through the album. There's enough quality scattered across the album to lift it above a complete 'meh', but I just can't justify giving it a score that puts it above a 2 star. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - This is quite nice. The harmonies are good, but quite static in a way. They move, but they all move together rather than around each other. The vibe is nice, but it's quite loose in places and feels a little unfocused. Marrakesh Express - A nice, if pretty twee track. There's some subtle instrumentation low in the mix that adds depth too. It's maybe a bit one note, but decent enough. Guinevere - This is pretty, with an edge of melancholy. Makes me think of The Wicker Man, but the music in that is better. It's nice, but just doesn't grab me. You Don't Have to Cry - I'm starting to feel a bit of a theme coming on. It's nice. But it's also not that interesting to me. It's all getting pretty samey at this point. Pre-Road Downs - This seems more promising to begin with. The organ part I really dig and it feels like it's building to a chorus that just never really arrives. It has a decent rock n roll edge, but fails to deliver on its promises. Wooden Ships- Oooh. This starts well. Great groove and vibe to kick things off. The little pulling of focus by the different parts during the instrumental sections are great, as are the fleeting calls and response vocals. The gang harmonies take a more subtle role behind the lead, which works better to my ears. A good track that has a little bit of that something I've been waiting for. Lady of the Island - It's nice enough. It's a bit boring. And don't do a 'do do do' bit in a two and a half minute love song. Although the ending 'do do do' is actually the best bit of the song. Helplessly Hoping - The harmonies are nice here, with a bit more interesting motion to them. I actually quite liked this track, although it didn't offer much in the way of development. Long Time Gone - A slow rock n roll number. It's laid back and has a bit of grit to it with a nice bit of tension built through the verses, but the chorus just doesn't ever really deliver a satisfying release. 49 Bye-Byes - There're some nice moments here. It's got a bit more thrust than the rest of the album, but at moments it just sort of drifts away from the thread and loses itself a bit. Probably one of the better tracks on the album because it seems a bit more consistent.

Nice

The problem with this is that it gets to the point where it’s no fun anymore very quickly. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is the best song on the record by far. Wooden Ships isn’t terrible. The rest of the album is overstuffed filler.

I don’t know if I’ve got it in me to get through this whole record. I don’t understand how a band can showcase so much obvious musical competency and still be so boring. It’s like they’ve made a concerted effort to avoid catchy melodies. They’ve found a way to sing around any actual melody, yet still harmonize with each other really well. But it’s not just vocally; the guitars sound like they’re being operated by talented guitar players whose talent is primarily expressed through one player mindlessly noodling over a go-nowhere chord structure. It’s really impressive except that it’s so hard to listen to. My dad would be so disappointed with my take on Crosby, Stills, and Nash—Cripes, even their band name is painfully tiresome to say—but I’m just so tired of listening to this record, and I don’t think I’m even halfway through at the time of this writing. I’ll try to get through more, but I doubt I’ll finish. Life’s too short to waste a bunch of time on a record that I know won’t connect with me. 2.5—and I’m probably only rating it this highly because the talent behind this album is obvious. I can’t bring myself to round up though.

Fav song: Judy Blue Eyes I've never cared much for CSN or CSNY. They were fine. This album is also fine. More from this group plus Neil Young will come down the pike and I will be able to form an actual opinion. This album sounded too samey-samey and it's their vocals which do not differ very much song to song.

Wasn’t a huge fan. felt very samey and while the harmonies were impressive it didn’t do much for me.

I knew this album to be iconic, so therefore I stayed away. Now that I can sit and listen, there are splendid, almost perfect moments. But if those moments are supposed to carry the rest of the album, they are not strong enough for that. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is really 7 and a half minutes?! Why? Helplessly hoping has some incredible melodies. This album walked so Fleet Foxes could sprint.

Too twee for me.

I like rock music from this era, but had never listened to a full album from this band. While I can appreciate what they did here, it didn’t really hold my attention for an entire album. By the end it was just an endurance test (I did listen to the whole thing). One or two tracks were good, but as a whole it was boring.

Not that I thought CSN were a full-on country group per se, but I guess I was expecting a bit more twang than what we got - which was more like a second-rate Simon & Garfunkel album. Yeah, I’m not really getting the hype surrounding this one. The harmonies are great and all, but I didn’t really find anything about the songwriting overly interesting. Like, as someone who typically writes far more than anyone asked for, I’m left without much to say. For the most part, no song really stuck out to me more than another, but ironically, my least favorite is apparently the group’s most popular, Helplessly Hoping. Not for any strong reason exactly, but I hated the lyric: “They are one person They are two alone They are three together They are for each other” I’m not even entirely sure why if I'm being honest, but it kind of pissed me off a little bit each time I heard it. Still, not an album that I would call bad or that I hated, but one that really did nothing for me in my listening. If I wanted this kind of sound, I would much rather listen to Simon & Garfunkel instead.

If Simon and Garfunkel were stoners, they would be CSN. Let me restate, if Simon and Garfunkel were hard core stoners, they would be CSN. This album was a drug: it started strong with Judy Blue Eyes, which was the bong rip; Marrakesh Express was the high kick; Wooden Ships through Helpless Hoping was the ride; and Long Time Gone was when the munchies kick in when you discover the pizza was delivered an hour ago. For me, their harmonies have always been detrimentally lacking in needed variation, and, though admirable, gets monotonous after a while. Plus, I know Stephen Stills can rock a guitar better than this album shows. This feels like a product of the time and doesn’t translate to modern times, at least for me. If I was completely blazed, this would be the BEST…album…ever! But I’m not. Pity.

Wanted to like this/was curious about CS&N but it just wasn't for me

I'm not sure if I had a horrible bout of the stomach flu, strep throat or some other ailment as a child while my parents played Crosby, Stills & Nash, but I just can't get through this album without feeling ill.

Probably better than CSNY, but I’ll take The Byrds over this.

It seems like country rock (I'm not really sure if that exists), light listening but I don't think I would listen to this again on purpose.

Crazy how I love this genre and era, but when I listened to this it just didn't quite hit me at all in the right way. Felt very boring and slow the whole way through. Just felt like I was waiting for it to end.

This album hasn't aged well. I know these guys get high praise for their harmonization, but it doesn't carry through for 41 minutes. I hate to say it, having listened to something like six of his albums on this list already, but I think these guys were better with the edginess of Neil Young.

These guys have just never been quite my thing. The harmonies are pretty, I guess, and it takes skill, but I just don’t need to spend so much of my life listening to dudes sing like that. Also, I feel there’s a disconnect between guys obviously living late ‘60s hard but wanting me to believe they are so mellow. Probably pulls hippie tail pretty successfully. “Wooden Ships” is a banger, and I groove with the end of “Judy Blue Eyes” despite myself, but the rest doesn’t provoke anything but snores.

Gosh this album is a bore. Not awful, just boring.

If this album had come up two years ago, I might have been inclined to rate it higher. But there's so much of this type of music on the list - not just Crosby, Stills, Nash and fucking Neil Young and every iteration thereof - but 1960s harmonies (Mamas & Papas, Beach Boys), twangy rock (Creedence), bluesy rock (too many bands to count). I'm just over it. There's more music out there - genres, artists, fuck, I'd take a Muppets movie soundtrack than listen to yet another 1960s bluesy, harmonizing, Boomer masturbation fest.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - Self-Titled It's alright. I appreciate that they were trying to experiment with new sounds back then, but some of the songs here sound stale in comparison, so much in fact that they make even the chill songs sound better than them. But with that aside, it does offer quality and consistency, especially in the second half, offering country with mix of blues and a little of rock. Turned out not to be my genre. There was a couple of tracks that sounded perculiar, but all in all this one failed to resonate with me.

Well I found this a pretty dull album that sort of washed by me.

You’d think a supergroup would have a little more variety in their songwriting. “Song without words” was just not good. By the end I was surprised you could mess up just going “La la la” and “du du Dudu” but one of them was sounding so dumb with their nonsense it was hard to take it seriously. I thought I actually liked them as a group but as a band that has been on my “gotta give them a deep dive” list, I am a bit disappointed overall. At least 5 of those songs were the same thing. We get it, you can harmonize. Maybe without Neil Young they don’t hit as hard.

List is way too saturated with these guys. Some good songs, but giving it a 2.

Not my genre

As a thing unto itself I really appreciated the harmonies. However, as a whole the album just felt like "generic sound to indicate it's the 60s". I know that's not their fault, but it's not great for me personally. All that said, I did really like Helplessly Hoping. I watched Annihilation a couple of days ago and they used the song and it was really great for mood setting. But I also think that underscores my main point. Still a great song though.

I don’t know how I feel about this one. Obviously talented musicians, great harmonies, but it just doesn’t do much for me. I saw them in the 90s and it was an enjoyable show, but I’ve never considered buying a CS&N album of even felt like I needed to hear one of their songs. It good enough, but maybe it’s just not for me.

The last song on here, 49 Bye Byes is great, the rest is a slog, albeit one with great harmonies. Still, dated in a way that mostly bores the shit out of me.

Eh album

This album is relatively mundane, it's a decent foray into basic folk but so much of the middle is filler and sounds the same (with that same being a bit boring). The top tracks are the first and last, all the harmonizing in the middle feels a little corny. I'm surprised "Marrakesh Express" was a top 40 single because I didn't like that one at all. "Long Time Gone" is decent. CS&N are way better with Young but he's better without them, let that sink in...2.25.

We got a bookend album here. 1st track is top and the whole middle was decent song writing I guess but lost me in the boredom and slow song drudgery. The final track is a stripped down version of what we are used to but still pretty good and really the only other that stands out. Get way better when they add Neil...1.8.

The best way I can sum up Crosby, Stills & Nash is "it's fine I guess". There's nothing bad about it, but there's also nothing great about it once you get past the opening Suite Judy Blue Eyes. It's a good example of some OK folky rock from the 70's, it just isn't a genre that moves the needle much from me. Crosby, Stills and Nash are all clearly competent writers and musicians, but nothing on the opening album makes a big splash for me. I can't help but think that CSN was an OK act that needed Y to put them over the top. 2.31 stars

This album was all right. The songs that made it into the “Best of” album are good (Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Wooden Ships, Teach Your Children Well-though I don’t like the version on this album), and their harmonies and playing are fine. CSN really benefits from having a Y though-Neil Young wrote this band’s best songs and brings a better energy to the group overall. Kind of snoozy, this one. 2.5 stars, probably wouldn’t revisit.

Boring and uninspired

Pleasant enough harmonies but with nothing else to latch onto the album ends up being sleepy. Don't think I will be revisiting anything here beyond the opener. Crazy to think that they would go on to make Deja Vu just a year later (maybe Y is the missing ingredient).

They took all the good parts away from "Everybody's Talkin'" and "Teach Your Children," and made them both more boring. That's a feat. I don't understand enjoying their harmonies. Highly overrated in my opinion.

It's not bad, but come on, so many generic records on this list. I get that old music is good but not that good to include so many records that sound almost the same.

Another stinker 2 stars. i like the idea of this music, but the reality is I'm bored with how slow and inoffensive it is. It's I guess a fine listen at work, but I find it also boring as sin. Oh well.

This is #day11 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and... unfortunately, I can't say much about this selection. I don't mind some folk once in a while, but this was a little too dragging. "Long Time Gone" is probably the most memorable cut here. Sorry guys, but this is a 2 out of 5 this time. Looking forward to #day12.

If this generator has taught me anything so far, it’s that I was born to be a Neil Young fan. He was the saving grace on Déjà Vu – which is still a mediocre record overall. Now, without him on Crosby, Stills & Nash, I find CSN to be nearly unbearable, and certainly forgettable. The best songs on here are, in my opinion, “Guinnevere” and “Long Time Gone.” Which makes sense, because I like David Crosby, and I like his era of The Byrds. But gun to my head, I don’t think I could hum the melody of either song. To be fair, apparently, Crosby himself couldn’t even recognize “Guinnevere.” Those are just the songs that I didn’t either hate or not give a single shit about. Most of this album went in one ear, and went out the other. It is blander then bland. I think it’s decent enough where I can’t fully hate it, but this is a nothing album to me. It has no defining features, nothing unique, nothing interesting about it, nothing that makes it timeless. Its heights are still forgettable. When your best material is only good because it’s not as bad as the material around it, you don’t have a classic album on your hands. Boomer white bread. That’s all this record is, and frankly, all CSN may be. Neil Young, if you can hear me, please, save us. We need you. Or at least, CSN needs you.

Suite:Judy Blue Eyes went all over and I got over it the last couple minutes. What is the start on Marrakesh Express? The song has elements that remind me of Simon & Garfunkel. Overall not as standout to me even if I like the elements. 2.5

I've had a lot of yacht rock already (or it feels like that), and I got pretty bored.

Very of its time. Enjoyed it more than expected. A few good songs on there.

This starts with pastiche of hippie shit. Marrakesh Express is an invitation to make a twat of yourself in public. It then gets a little darker, a little more interesting. I still want to kick out all the accoustic bollocks and shake them up. Never trust a hippie, etc.

I know this is a critically acclaimed album but it doesn't do much for me. They have a very difinetive sound with very tight harmonies and the musicianship is good. The album starts off strong and ends pretty strong but the middle songs have me drifting off and barely paying any attention. 2- stars.

Late 60s soft rock slog. Aside from the vocal harmonies, there's not much I enjoy about this type of music. I'm sure this album inspired so many talented artists to make music, but I don't know if the entire album holds up today. 2.5/5

Yeah, they sing in great harmony and at times it sounds almost classical. Which is exactly why I can appreciate others liking it - but me, not so much, despite the psychedelic elements thrown in.

2/5. A relaxing and expressive folk album that loses feeling more often than not. The intertwining vocals is definitely the highlight here with songs creating a chorus of sound despite only being three singers. There is some good songwriting but some are just not very enjoyable to listen to. I would say I like a little less than half of this album but of the songs I do like, very memorable and well-written songs. Otherwise, wholly forgettable and boring. Could have been better, not a well-aged album. Best Song: Suite, Wooden Ships, Lady of the Island

I like this about as much as I enjoy them with Young included, which is to say, not terribly much. They sound lovely, but the songs are quite boring and run on and on into each other. The album ends up feeling much longer than it is. Sonically inoffensive.

Yeah, I can see the impact of this album with its tight reedy harmonies and popular musicianship of the day. It’s classic folk-rock. I’m just not the kind of folk it rocks.

It's too wanky and floaty for me. I don't like the singing or the approach. All too comfortable and soft and harmless, and painfully earnest. It's so long man, and so utterly dull. Such a slog.

All a bit too cheesy for my tastes I'm afraid. It's all very NICE. The alliteration... and that version of 'Everybody's Talkin' is unforgivable. 'Lady of the island' is quite lovely though.

Not much to write home about. It just kind of plodded along. Enjoyed the guitars on ‘Wooden Ships’ but nothing else jumped out. Thank the Lord for sending Neil Young their way to spice things up a bit.

Update: 2 thirds of the way through this album, the songs got a bit more lively and interesting. So not as bland as it could have been. So a 2 rather than a 1.

Crosby, Stills & Nash reminds me of times on dingy sofas, in stuffy Norwegian sweaters and sweet wild cherry tea. That was great back then. Now I just find it strange. And even at that time, Crosby, Stills & Nash were just a side note for me. I heard it in the alternative scene but it didn't impress me. And even now I found the music uninteresting. It played on the side and the best I could say about it was that it didn't bother me much. 2/5

The California folk is good, it's just kinda boring.

I struggled with this. Folk has never been my favourite genre. I could hear a similar vocal tone to early Pink Floyd, but not much else rang my (Division!) bell.

Nostalgia album for male baby boomers. I can appreciate helplessly hoping and wooden ships but that’s it the whole album is just more of the same.

Kwalitatief uitstekend. Maar poeffff, wat is dit een saaie plaat. En dan staat er ook nog dat verschrikkelijke Beatles-achtige Marrakesh Expres op. Ondanks dat de heren prima kunnen zingen, luister ik vooral naar de muzikale begeleiding. Doe mij bijvoorbeeld toch maar een instrumentale versie van Wooden Ships.

Bit boring for me

The first two songs are good but then there’s 45 minutes of album left.

Album cover looks like it could have been released yesterday by some hipster singer/songwriter band. First song is too long. I generally dislike songs over 5mins. I like the organ on Pre-Road Downs. So far I like this more for chill background music than something I’d really be listening closely to. I do have helplessly hoping in my library already tho! It’s a very lovely song. The infinity selections after this album have been good!

None of the songs caught my attention. I don't know them and I probably won't remember them after this album.

Not my thing but okay

This one was a nothing album for me. Didn't do anything special. I liked the Marrakesh Express song well enough, but it all felt like background noise to me. I clearly know nothing about music but I just didn't jive with this one.

As boring as a traffic jam

It was good but nor my genre

It's not terrible. But it is fairly boring. Perhaps my ears have been inundated with this style for too long, but this album doesn't seem all that special. Seems like peak boomer music. It's not pop per se, as there is some evidence of progressive chord changes and experimental tempos, melodies, etc. I'm not a fan of this style of vocals. The vocals are not unique and sound like every other band from the 1960s and 1970s. Nothing is catchy. None of the beats stick in my mind after a first listen. All the songs sound the same. I can't even remember any of the choruses immediately after listening. I'm always annoyed when the singing is just some form of repeating the phrase "oh baby" like 50 times. I don't even think I had a favorite song on this album, as none of them are memorable. I would not listen to this again if given the choice.

Forgettable and some unnecessary long to much fillers with dooo doo well thats what stood out to me most.

Was intrigued by the first song. The underlying rumbling snare and guitar stabs create a cowboy stand-off vibe that juxtaposes the orchestral string layers delicately placed on top. Kinda dramatic as fuck but I would happily have this as my background music in a cowboy shoot off. The rest of the album zoned out while I was walking home. Kinda forgettable overall, except for the strings layers on top through the album were nice. Probably wouldn’t listen again for at least 2 years

I know CSN are a big deal, but I honestly couldn’t tell you a single song they’ve released. I was thinking listening to this I would at least think “aaaah this is a CSN song!”. But nope. If I was watching a 60s/70s period hippy road trip series on Netflix it’s the kind of stuff that would soundtrack lots of dusty Cali sunsets. And you’d think, yeah this is cool. Outside of that, it’s a no from me.

Is it a bad album? No, of course not. Does listening to 2 songs feel like you’ve heard everything the album has to offer? It kinda does.

Track 12 - so true to their word Guessing this was an influential album that introduced a new American sound? Nothing too special about this for me, might even be 1.5 stars

Ok, these guys may have been good back in the day, but 54 yeras have passed now and in my wee humble opinion it hasnt dated very well. Politely polished male harmonisation that isn't bad, they were wannabe Simon and Garfunkels, but not quite hitting the mark. Sadly this type of music is just a polar opposite of anything I'd want to listen to. As i listened to the album I thought these guys were OK for the late 60s... but then they even managed to completely kill Harry Neillsons Everybody's Talking, which is a shame, because there are soooo many excellent versions of that track, from Harry's original to The Beautiful South. This is not an album for me.

I've listened to this album at least 16 times in an evidently fruitless attempt to pair thoughtful review with a careful rating. But each time I sit down to write, I end up throwing up my hands in frustration because I can't justify giving 3 stars after forgetting if I even listened all the way through the last time (each time I thought I hadn't yet fully did). So this is an official f-you to the album that has somehow gaslighted me more than Amy Dunne gaslit Nick Dunne in Gone Girl.

For some reason my review for this album was deleted and I have to write it again. It's a terrible task to do it again, so I will summarize - I like the iteration of the band with Young, it was okay, but I don't really find this version amusing in any way. Very average album altogether. That's it.

It’s a wonderful sound in search of more memorable songs

It's got 'Marrakech express' on it, which is a song I love. Lots of quite annoying '60s-style close vocal harmonies. Gentle, complex guitar work. All a bit samey though. 52 minutes and 14 songs felt very long!

Terribly average.

This is really quite dull. They've got the ingredients there to be much more interesting than they are - you can't really fault their singing voices (because Neil Young isn't part of the group yet), they are competent musicians, but the songs all sound the same, and the same isn't particularly lively in the first place. Lacks energy throughout, don't see this as an essential listen by any means. 2/5.

Very boring, given their talent!

If I wanted to listen to a bunch of hippies singing folk music, I wouldn't, because I don't want to listen to a bunch of hippies singing folk music. This may be my father's favorite album, but it certainly is not mine. I can see why many people enjoy Crosby, Stills & Nash, but they are not for me. Nevertheless, Wooden Ships and Marrakesh Express are quite good.

Quite frankly, boring. The "doo doo doo doo doo"s at the end of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" are great, and the guitar/effect on "Pre-Road Downs" is pretty cool but that's about all that really stood out for me. The rest was certainly listenable and inoffensive but didn't do much for me.

While it's clearly the work of three very good song writers, they were clearly waiting for the 4th to show up in Neil Young. As it is, it fills me with the ick that that sort of '100 Drive Time Songs' compilation that you buy for your Dad as a thoughtless Father's Day gift gives you. He thinks Jeremy Clarkson tells it like it is, but there's a drug reference just gentle enough he can feel edgy, and a sad song for when he thinks about the divorce. America was miles behind the UK at this point, wasn't it... So much bland detritus like this in this list.

There are some great chill songs on here but I feel like I need to be in the right headspace or this thing just feels incredibly boring. Highlights: Marrakesh Express, Pre-Road Downs, Wooden Ships.

This was a chore to get through. Beautiful harmonies, flawless instruments but man was it boring. Adding the faves to a 2006 remaster is skewing the ratings.

Music for people who clap when an airplane lands. Too many albums from the Neil Young Extended Universe (CSN, CSNY, Buffalo Springfield, all of the members' solo albums) on this list and they all sound the same.

The harmonies are nice, and it's all very neat and tidy, but I just find it hard to love. It sounds a bit sterile to me. Marrakesh Express, Helplessly Hoping and 49 Bye-Byes stood out as tracks I might listen to again. 2.5

Really not my cup of tea

The album makes me think of laidback summer weekend afternoons. I appreciate the craftsmanship that they put into the harmonies and it's remarkable how they come across as one voice. All that said though, it's not really my cup of tea and I doubt I'll be revisiting the album for my personal enjoyment.

The group before Neil Young was added. Very folksy music and several of the songs are recognizable; however, I am not sure I would request to hear any of the songs again. The cover of Everyone's Talking was probably the best song but the original is still better. I didn't hate it but it was just there. It is a mid 2 but I will round down.

It's just boring

Favourite track was “Marrakesh Express”. Overall didn’t really enjoy, found it lacking excitement as there was any real attack to the music. Found the extreme left/right mixing where vocals only in 1 ear a bit difficult, but I always think this!

J’avais de grosses appréhensions négatives en voyant cet album. Finalement c’est beaucoup moins pire que je pensais. Pas mon bag, mais j’ai bien aimé les harmonies vocales qu’on retrouvait dans leurs groupes précédents. Ce côté me plaît, mais je le préfère avec un côté rock. Pas sûr que je vais y revenir par contre, mais cet album a sa place dans cette liste.

Prior to today I couldn't name a single song from this musical act. I knew they were pretty popular and revered and that Neil Young would later join them and that about covered it. Somehow I didn't know a single song or album title. Well I wasn't missing much. The whole thing came across as bland folk. They have fine harmonies and whatnot and it wasn't annoying level bad but I was not entertained by any of it. There was no standout. It just went on. Fortunately this album is relatively short. I don't think I will ever come back to this one.

Always regarded Crosby, Stills & Nash's music rather boring and uninspiring, and guess what? Relistening to this album only made me more confident in my opinions.

Some nice harmonies and decent songs. Annoying the album wasn't on Spotify so I had to put it on youtube where it didn't sound brilliant to me. Not especially memorable, I'm sure they've done better

First listen. I know a couple of the popular songs. The rest are new to me. CSN are great, but their sound is pretty dated now. Listening to that harmonizing on each song get's a little tired. Still an enjoyable album. 2/5
