Reviews (page 13 of 14)

prob better live. I like here comes your man. The earlier songs on the album are a bit scream-o for me. By the end of the album, I couldn't wait for it to be over

I can’t remember this album. I just listened to it and cannot remember a single song, what I do remember is not hating it.

Didnt really enjoy it

This music is so bland. Enough classic rock. It's so generic.

I only like the one song on the album

A punkier version of The Cure. Not my fave.

I just don't understand the Pixies I guess. This is their third album on here and they just have never jived with me for some reason. The first song was the best on the album, which is exactly how their last album was too. The rest is just a little off and screamy for me.

British punk

It's okay

Not for me at all

I have listened to this album many times and again, it just doesn't really hit me at all like it does some people. I can see why people like it but their mix of noisy indie stuff is just not as appealing as others in the genre. I much prefer listening to other groups that did this sort of thing without a pop lean like idk, Sonic Youth than I do returning to this, even Surfer Rosa had more for me in it

There were a few solid tunes, and the chorus of Monkey Goes to Heaven was exceptional, but it didn't really click with me otherwise.

Punk rock, mixed with surf music.

Can’t even pretend to like this. Just tedious.

not for me a little too experimental

Zurullo 3.2/10—>2/5

Noise. Not good noise.

They have been the music critic’s darling ever since I can remember. But I just don’t get it.

The darling love child of the 90s college scene kids, I heard this then with them but I didn't eat the poison and fall for it's fake foibles ..

Never been a big Pixies fan. 'Here Comes Your Man' feels so out of place with the rest of the album, but it's the only song I really liked.

★★½

Alternative is not my cup of tea but pretty musical for the genre as opposed to just screaming and bass notes. Still, a bit dark.

Most of the songs are more like ideas of songs, very short. One mainstream song thrown in for good measure.

You can definitely hear why/how this band influenced Nirvana. Not the worst 80s new world/neo-punk album I’ve heard, but still not enough interesting melody for me (the album runs under 40 minutes, despite having 15 songs).

A great album I’m familiar with. The piano work on this album is excellent.

not really for me

It didn't work for me

Average

Listening to the album in full, there wasn't anything that stood out. Not much to comment on this one, just felt like it went in one ear and out the other.

Eh, not my favorite.

Didn't really get my attention. Recognized a couple songs from pop culture.

A lot of people seem to like this one, but I'm not super into the cacophonic screaming.

Favorite songs: Here Comes Your Man, Gouge Away, Debaser Least favorite songs: Silver, Dead, Crackity Jones, La La Love You, There Goes My Gun 2/5

Niet m’n style

This record seals the deal that I am not a Pixies fan. “Here Comes Your Man” and “Debaser” are my favorites, but the rest of the songs drastically drop in quality.

people said to me "oh no not the pixies, they are like the smiths but worse and more pretentious". this peaked my interest, and after listening... it made me have the realization. they were right.

Apart from Mr. Grieves, which slapped so hard for no reason, the rest of the album was so boring. Just not my style of rock at all, but whatever a lot of people like it so let it be.

Poucas músicas que achei interessante mas as que são boas são realmente boas, vocais engraçadoskkkk mas achei daorinha, vibezinha massa e eh daora a mistura de estilo. Monkey gone to heaven e Mr. Grieves são as melhores músicas.

Comme ci comme ca. A lot of the album is too noise with less music, “Dead” was a painful listen where it didn’t feel like the notes went together well, whilst is likely to be done on purpose, it doesn’t create an album you should listen to before you die. I felt stressed the entire time listening to it for some reason. 3/10.

Better than the last Pixies, but I think the key to me not liking them is there lack of joy and general ‘downness’

Not a fan at all, just kinda sounded bleh, dnf

Did not finish, was not a fan

Not my cup of tea.

One or two good tunes on this album, but otherwise I didn't like it much. I though Bossanova was a better effort.

4/10 Maybe haven't given this a fair chance but I think I just don't like the Pixies. Here Comes Your Man is a great song though. Listens: 1

I didn’t finish this one. I liked one song but the rest was not to my taste. I have a hard time understanding its appeal beyond the one song.

I'm not the biggest fan of this album. The instruments rarely stick out to me and the vocals are okay. The lyrics are also either really repetitive or they don't really make much sense.

Not my cup of tea

Not much for this kind of alternative rock.

Didn't like it. Not a fan of punk rock or surf rock.

Something didn't hit right for this album its almost as if the the mids were mixed a little too peaky for me and I had a hard time listening to it.

Does little for me but an interesting listen regardless

I always wondered if, in my older age, that I'd start liking the Pixies. I'm glad this project gave me the chance to figure that out. For an album that hits my sweet spot on song length (all but three songs take less than 3 minutes) I... don't like it. And I like dark and noisy minor-chord rock. I get this band is important and that's fine but nope.

Bit annoying vocals some good roffs

Rating: 2.75/5 (Rounded to 2) Favorite Track: Here Comes Your Man, La La Love You Honorable Mentions: Hey This album is an acquired taste for me, as I'm not a huge fan of Black Frank's shrill, shrieky vocals. I do love the stripped-down approach, surf-rock guitar work, and the sharp drumming. The album's influence on alternative rock is undeniable even if it's not completely to my taste. An entertaining listen for sure though :)

While I understand it being influential (duh it's the pixies) punk really is not my thing.

Sounded good musically. But not for me, screaming got on my nerves.

So many of these songs feel like the same line again and again, repeated for 2 minutes.

How can an album be the most popular album from the band and the least pixies sounding album? I just can't get into this. The music is trying to be abrasive while they also seem to be trying to be marketable. It just ends up being annoying.

To be fair, the 2nd half was more tolerable, so should get a 2.5, but here we are...

Not bad.

Interesting background, but I don't like the vocal Nah not my type

Theres like 3 good songs on here and one of them is a banger. Unfortunately, that does not make up for the chaotic nonsense that the rest of the album is. 4/10

2/5 this sound is not for me, but there were a few songs that i liked the music of, but the screaming vocals and lyrics is just not something i enjoy. “here comes your man” is something i’ve heard before and it’s a good song. “silver” was the first song i hadn’t heard before that i actually enjoyed. but that was about it. it seems they were a formative band for other artists that came after them tho so i guess i shall say thank you for giving me radiohead - one of my fave bands ever.

8/1089 - Instrumentals are alright but the screaming/moaning vocals are annoying.

Decent listen.

Anything interesting happening with the instruments is immediately offset by the terrible vocals.

Basically....it was OK. You can see the roots of things I like, and it was decent....but nothing was great. Just solid all around

Not for me but I could see enjoying that.

16/12/24 It wasn't a great album.

This was okay. Kinda lost me at Debaser, and then even good tracks afterward had a hard time winning me back. Where Is My Mind is my favorite Pixies track, and isn't on this album 😐

I didn't hate it but it was nothing special. Bland

What ever genre this is. I don't like it.

Some good songs Standout songs: Hey Monkey gone to heaven Mr Grieves

It's samey, annoying and shallow, but it's not grating, at least. This is the fifth punk album of the last six. Please give me something else.

Ни одна песня не понравилась. Слабенько, хотя на момент выхода наверно было было чем то новым, интересным.

Started off with some good energy and catchy engaging riffs but quickly descended into boring tedium. A weak 2 in my book....

It’s not horrible but it’s not great. Not my jam.

Not for me

Wave of Mutilation is great. 15 tracks is just too long for this sound and I couldn't wait for it to end after a while. The vocals and melodies are hit and miss throughout. Didn't hate it, but don't really vibe with it.

This is not really my thing. It's quite angsty and almost emo-y, if you know what I mean. I did manage to make it all the way through and there were a couple of musical highs - but sadly, the rest of it was one long low, and the vocals were pretty awful. I hope this is the only album from this band in the list, that says it all I suppose.

Music - yes Lyrics - 😑

It's okay

Drums were cool. I heard they influenced Nirvana. But idk man as "interesting" as the decisions were I didn't enjoy the vocals, lyrics, or the jarring turns.

A little bit too Indie

One or two of my musical buddies have told me to listen to The Pixies. A group I know nothing about. I ignored them very much like this album which I will ignore in the future. Not a complete listening disaster but getting there. 2/5 24/9/24

toller sound (war z.b. inspiration für weezer), aber sonst eher durchschnittlicher gitarrenrock resp. furchtbare texte.

The only song I found interesting was Silver. Couldn't get into the rest of it at all.

What are the chances that someone would pick up a bass for the first time at exactly the same moment as another person standing next to a hot mic was attacked by a chicken, all while inside a recording studio?

I get it but naah

So is the reason this album is on this list because it’s got a strung out tweaker screaming and sputtering nonsense? Because other than that there is nothing unique about this album and there are many underpasses around my city where I can get the same experience in half the time.

I only got to listen to it once on the verge of falling asleep very jetlaged, so I will have to give it a re-listen later. First impression: loud and all over the place, with some catchy tunes

2.5/5 Top picks: Debaser, Here comes your man,Monkey gone to heaven, Mr Grieves, Gouge Away

Annoying, irritating, grating, in other words really didn’t like it.

no me gusta

Good album, nothing special, cant say I loved this album too much

I wanted to like this more :/

QUIIIIEEEEEEETTTTTTTT! SHAAADDUUPPPP!

Nothing appealed to me about this album, seemed like a poorly produced effort. Looking forward to a new day/new album.

Not a big fan, but there have been worse selections from this site.

That's not my taste in musik.

Favorite Track: Wave of Mutilation

a few good songs but the rest is not for me!

Doolittle more like Do a little bit more. The instrumentals are enough for me to give it a two, but overall, not a huge fan.

A third Pixies album before I've listened to 200. Sorry, they really are not that important, and if they are, where are Mudhoney or Dinosaur Jr or Husker Du? They aren't really an album band either. A festival band, that's Pixies in their natural environment and always has been. Anyway this one has the most pop singles on it and you can hear their songwriting blossoming.

Did not like this much, although one track was pleasing enough to add to my gym playlist. Smiths problem: lovely melody and musical accompaniment, most of the singing either weedy or shouting.

song reco: here comes your man ⭐⭐⭐ (the only NORMAL track for me)

2.5. Original stuff.

I found this one to be more interesting and structured than the last Pixie album. Can't really get totally into the guy's voice. An ahead of its time 90s sound though.

Very Indy, very yelly. Some catchy parts.

The songs all sounded pretty similar, and the majority (if not all) all bland and unexciting.

This is one of those albums where if it were playing I wouldn't feel like I wanted to flee the room but I would never choose to listen to this on my own.

Not their best. Just below a 2.5

The album was not bad to listen to, but did not leave enough of an impression for me to be interested in hearing more. Two stars for me or D+.

STANDOUTS: Mr. Grieves OVERALL: 2/5

Sounds a lot like Nirvana to me. Quite noisy and shrill at points. Lots of punk sounds too. Just OK for me.

Please, please, tell me that there won't be more Pixies albums.

Obviously they have their devoted fans. I am not one of them. Here Comes Your Man was pretty decent and saves the album for me. I guess I’m just not in love with angsty, aggressive music and I didn’t find La La Love You to be that clever. Instrumentals were pretty good. Guess this is a 3, maybe.

Not my cup of tea

The screaming vocals definitely aren't my style, but the sheer variety and creativity used for the instrumentation and textures is what kept me listening. Honestly had to listen to it a few times before being able to enjoy it fully. Wouldn't say I liked it, but don't hate it either. The punk aesthetic just isn't for me.

Hated the start of this album, then o It got better, then really bad, then a little better, one song topped out at a 3, the rest were much below that. Not for me. Below average.

Some great guitar and drum parts but screechy guitar / vocals turned me off quite a bit.

This just gave me a headache, not the worst I've heard but I cant say I enjoyed a single track, it was way too disjointed. On occasion the intro would hook me but then the singing would start. Bad entry pixies

This just wasn’t for me. Talented lads but I am not the audience for this album

Mildly grating, not that interesting to me.

Except for the song "Here Comes Your Man" quite boring.

certainly influential, but in the sense that it inspired a lot of alternative bands that make noise and can't sing. was optimistic there would be something more interesting here but the poor singing is distracting

American rock band. Not for me

I want to like this more than I do.

I don't think this was the best Pixies could have done. not that there was anything wrong with their technique, but I feel like they could do better. A lot of these songs just sounded uncoordinated or clumsy in composition, as if they were still practicing their songwriting. Especially the first two songs and a couple of the later songs where they had some lackluster verses, simple strum patterns on basic chords, and then would just screamed the title of the song over and over again. They were still screaming "Tame" by the time we got to the track "Hey". "Gouge Away" felt like the most competent performance while still maintaining the harsh sound they were going for on the rest of the album. I also enjoyed "Monkey Gone to Heaven" and the times they focused on narrative such as in "I Bleed". My favorite track was "Here Comes Your Man" for just being more musical.

Some decent songs on the album but they're widely overshadowed by the songs that are borderline unlistenable.

Pixies har jag lyssnat sönder i ungdomen då jag var arg, hormonell, agressiv och skrikig sång och slammer var terapi. Nu är jag gammal, hormonell och passivt aggressiv. I Bleed, Here comes your man är harmoniska, rockiga pärlor annars är skivan ganska trist. Bossanova är ett mycket bättre album.

I'm not into it. Listening to this right after The Stooges probably helped impart some level of appreciation, but it's all over the place and not my thing. Maybe I need to try it again, but I won't. 2.2

Off the bat I’m not a fan because it’s not got enough melody. I like “where is my mind”, but that’s not in this album. Can see what their vibe is 2**

Did not love it, the vocals are rough.

Gewoon niet

This one was not for me.

I like the bright production and unique songwriting and the guitar and drums, but the lyrics don’t resonate with me and the vocals in most songs are obnoxious.

Fortunately I had no access to this music in the late 80s. At least each song sounds different compared to most alt-rock bands, but still not for me. 2/5

Liked wave of mutilation of course but just meh everywhere else

Some of it is tolerable

Not my thing

Very meh. Was expecting much more. Gouge away my favorite.

fun at first, but i felt like it gets old quickly to the point where i couldn't wait for it to finish. i guess the sound isn't for me. saved 2 songs

Good innocuous stuff, easy listening, easy to forget.

I came in thinking I would enjoy this, I love the bands the Pixies inspired. But this was too far for me, the screaming of the first 2 songs, Debaser and Tame were off putting. Even the best songs on this album were just alright, and only served as a good break for the bad songs around them.

Doolitte by the Pixies has some good moments with good vocal performances, and the production of the album is great throughout, but the constant sceaming and scratchy vocals become annoying, which leads me to search for songs on the album with just singing, of which there are very few. There are a few good moments on the album, but the good moments are very enjoyable.

Not for me.

Just too much wailing for me, personally.

I wasn’t familiar with the Pixies so didn’t know what to expect, but I didn’t find much to enjoy about this album. The first track, Debaser, was repetitive screaming of the song title that makes me tune out. I Bleed also had a lot of repetition of the pretty bleak song title. Here Comes Your Man was the first track that seemed to have a melody – I was surprised to enjoy it, after the first 4 tracks, but it also turned into “repeat the song title over and over”. With the next track, Dead, I was quickly disinterested again. Monkey Gone to Heaven takes us back to screaming rock. Crackity Jones is pretty fast-paced with cool guitar and I wanted to enjoy it, but I didn’t really get there. I found La La Love You to be a bit more interesting, but then there were 3 straight tracks that I drifted off again. Silver was really weird (and somehow not fitting with the sound of the rest of the album). Wikipedia says the final track (Gouge Away) “ends with everyone dying in a crush”, which seems fitting for my thoughts of this album.

Thought I would like it more than I actually did

3rd album from The Pixies on this list, so another chance to savour that godawful singing and groundbreaking blandness. Can't wait to skip the next one.

It was okay, but a good chunk of the songs were very hard to listen to.

Not my type of music. 2/5 because I didn’t listen to every song

Debaser and Monkey Gone to Heaven steal the show.

Normally up for this but didn't click somehow.

Nothing stood out

Some of that punk sound I don't love

Alt rocky and edgy. Pretty solid, not my favorite stuff ever. Some good songs

It's okay, guess you had to be there when it came out? Some people really swear by this. I would say it is the best Pixies album, but that really isn't saying much. Some good ones on here though... Debaser, Wave of Mutilation, and Here Comes Your Man.

Liian erikoinen kokonaisuus, en päässyt oikein mukaan menoon.

Rapidly forgettable.

It's OK, not too much to write home about. Had to wait for the penultimate track Silver to get a really good one. 2.

I really like the album cover.. If it also had number 8 somewhere on it I would have given it a +1... :) songs I liked: - Here comes your man - Crackity Jones I've heard 10/15 songs I can't take no more

This is just not my type of music. There were a few good songs in there, but I didn’t love the lead vocalist’s style of singing. 2.5 stars

A bit too shouty.

overall not a great album. couple nice songs on there.

Not good. Noisy and not melodic.

I am tired of 80s UK underground punk bulshit

Basic alternative

why are you screaming at me was promising until 40 seconds into the first song

I know this album and band influenced many bands I love. I appreciate their wild variety. But none of this really sticks in my head. Some of it is grating in an irritating way rather than an intriguing way. I guess I’m missing out not hearing the greatness.

Known before: No Standouts: I bleed; No 13 Baby 4.5 (High highs, Low lows)

Niet aan te horen

I like this genre a lot and I can tell that many bands I love are influenced by this work. My first listen didn't hit. Subsequent playthroughs were fun but I wish I liked it more. I'll keep at it though because I think this could grow on me.

Surprisingly not great. I love later stuff from the Deals. This was not a sonic enjoyment overall. Kinda beginning to wonder why someone would recommend this to be included in 1001 albums you gotta hear before you die. Hell and I'm from their hometown. Hope this book, whoever wrote it, gets better.

Not really a fan. A little too angsty for my tastes

Didn't really care for it. Like a few Pixies tracks, but wasn't really feeling it as an album.

I would have been more into this record as a younger man. Aside from Here Comes Your Man, this isn't bad background listening for a certain mood, but doesn't make me want to hear more.

Fine as a backdrop, but kind of boring.

okay, maybe not a fan? 2*

annoying and stressful

Clearly I'm not the targetted audience

angsty before it was cool or sounded cool

2 stars ngl

Not my style. Hardly any melody. Honestly I don't see how this could be within the top 1000 albums ever.

Didn’t appeal to me. Guitar heavy with not much variation between the songs.

It was okay

I really don't get it. It's a very bland album, got boring pretty fast. Maybe I need to be angrier to enjoy it?

Pre-listening thoughts: I have only heard of the Pixies through "Where is my Mind". Which like, is an ok song (sorry to every fanboy out there), but it's not really for me. I'm curious to see if this is starkly different from their other work or not. I'm also not gonna put the effort that I did for Steely Dan - while these reviews are solely for me, I know the pressure to rate every track is gonna get tiring. So instead, I'll list a few I enjoyed along with my thoughts about the album, and if there were any standout horrible ones, those will make the cut too. Post listening thoughts: Lol this album clocks in at exactly 38:38 which is kinda neat. This is like... a little to heavy for me lol. Like it's not bad but I definitely won't be revisiting this. I'm just not a huge fan of songs where they don't sing (excluding rap/hip hop). Like there was a lot of just breathing and talking and yelling it was lowkey so awkward at times. Props if this is for you but I cannot relate. 3/10. Top Tracks: Here Comes Your Man, Monkey Gone to Heaven (what a fucking track name lol)

Not my type

Black Francis has a terrible voice, most of these tracks were looking to be good but were ruined by the screech being projected from his ears, I almost felt sick hearing it. Hearing his voice for the first time was like eating your favourite meal, except there's no food and a fork is being scraped all over the fucking plate. On a positive note, it wasn't that long, but there were some good songs. I enjoyed tracks like 'Here Comes Your Man', why couldn't the rest of the tracks be similar to this one? This album is borderline trash, I am trying my absolute hardest to understand why someone could genuinely enjoy this horror, it's weird as some of my favourite bands are directly inspired by Pixies. Favourites: Here Comes Your Man / Dead / Monkey Gone To Heaven / La La Love You

this is the same, relatively interesting but not really, song 15 times. it sounds nice but that is all i can say, was very disappointed.

2/5. Once the Pixies establish a groove they destroy it by switching up the style of the song. I suppose that’s the point. Save for Here Comes your Man and Crackity Jones, the album is not my taste. Maybe I am not “big-brained” enough to enjoy this, like listeners of Trout Mask Replica.

Too much random yelling and nonsense, to the point where the mic was peaking multiple times. I like angsty, but this is too much.

Would maybe be a 3 normally but just listened to The Warning by Hot Chip and this just feels so bland an unoriginal in comparaison.

Nem tetszett, nem az én stílusom

Driving punk rhythms, deeply grating vocals.

Couldn't get into it, feels really forced. Wish it was just female vocals.

started off weak, had a nice midpoint, fell off a bit again and then ended decent

Gritan mucho

Not a fan tbh, maybe 2 good songs.

2 out of the best 1001 albums of all time are by the pixies??? ok sure

I enjoyed this for the most part but just didn't quite get into it, like a car with a big engine the just won't turn over to start, lots of potental but never did it for me

Too rowdy for me

Not my favorite album by them. I don't like several songs. I love how unique the pixie sound.

Punkahtavaa

Didn’t love this, not going to seek them out again.

A tad formulaic, tendency to get Kim to lead off with a low key riff and then "we all join in". Surprising how piss weak the rhythm section is, terrible drumming. Blackie has some good moments here, I love Waves of Mutilation, a great song that points to what they could do, Here Comes is a nice pop song. I think I like Kim more, that's my problem with the Pixies, The Breeders are just much better, she found herself there, maybe needed the twin to make it all happen. I dont think the Pixies hold up, at all.

Didn’t listen fully, but based on what I heard, 2.5 stars

Strong two, weak three. I can't really get on board with the Pixies, but have tried. Wave of mutilation, here comes your man, monkey gone to heaven, and hey are OK songs...but just OK. The rest are flat out junk.

This is not aging well. I get it. But man. It sounds tinny and loud.

Nothing really grabbed me from this album, but a few songs were nice to hear. I didn’t give this one much thought but I can see where it shines.

this is my third pixies album as part of this project, and i suppose my third album cements the fact that i consider them just okay. i can, however, see some influence: they sound like an early version of green day in some of their songs. they've also got a late seventies/early eighties punk vibe, like the clash. some of the songs could be snappy and carry a good tune, but then some of the lyrics just fell flat. also, noise pop is apparently just uninteresting to me; making loud noises for the sake of being loud? no thank you. 2.5.

Pretty basic garage rock

Listens: 1 Enjoyed: not really Just not for me, one or two tracks were okay but I weren't feeling it enough for a second listen

Прослушано! Средний альбом, не зацепило ни чем.

Could be liked with attrition. Knew one song, the rest was ok.

2/5. Doesn’t feel as amazing as I’ve heard it to be. Feels like a group of people who had fun playing but didn’t know how to play their instruments and then started a band. There are some catchy songs but most lean on the side of annoying.

Todella vaikea arvosteltava. Bändin esteettinen visio eroaa radikaalisti omastani, minkä vuoksi sen kappaleissa olisi parasta olla ideaa. Ja valitettavasti niissä on. Toisaalta ainakin juuri tältä levyltä puuttuu sellainen täysillä kolahtava raita, joka minun "täytyisi" kuulla uudelleen. Nyt soittaisin levyn toiseen kertaan vain mielessäni teoreettinen kysymys: voisinko oppia pitämään Pixiesin musiikista enemmän? Eikä tämä tyydytä.

I wish I liked the pixies. I feel like I’m supposed to like the pixies. Why can’t I get into it? Is there something wrong with me, will I never find musical love?

Honestly not my favorite album. I was only able to get in half a listen though lol. It just felt a little too like a garage band. There’s a lot of spoken lyrics and it doesn’t seem to have anything really unique. In general: 6/10 My rating: 4/10

You can practically hear the lamentations of a million Gen Xers with income property at this rating

Not so good. Too loud, screaming and shouting throughout,

forgettable

Not in the mood today

Listened to on 8/12/22 2.5/5 Favorite song: Here comes your man I felt like I was being yelled at for 60% of this album but the other 40% was great

Pas mon album préféré des Pixies, Frank Black est cool mais je crois que je sature d'entendre ça avec jessica. Pour autant c'est un album super bien produit de fin de grunge

Enough with the freaking pixies.... They had one hit...

Nothing really clicked with me from this album. 2/5

Starts off with the lead singer just screaming. What an immediate turnoff. Then it's whispers to screams to whispers to screams... Until the third song, I wasn't sure if they were aware there is a section in the middle of those two extremes where better music tends to be. The album is at its best when it calms down, which isn't nearly often enough.

This has all the annoying trappings of non-Seattle alternative: it rips off a random Stooges song (I hate the Stooges), adds fuzzy guitars (probably telecaster/vox combos ew), simple marching beat-style drums (awful snare sound btw), the most toothless singing possible (even the screaming is wimpy) and coats it all in shitty DIY garage band stylings. Plus the singer looks like that fat hairless creep from Little Britain. Overall it just gives off loser vibes - like the soundtrack to being bullied in high school or something. 2/5.

A few enjoyable songs, many annoying songs.

I get it. But did very little for me.

Cool beats and melody. Too much on the screamer side for me

a few good tracks, not really my style

First listen. Very nice. Like to hear more of it. 2/5

I'm not excited with this.

I've never played with the volume knob so much on one car trip, the volume differences within the same track is jarring throughout the album

This album is a little weird. I was not familiar with the Pixies before this album. Definitely does not have an 80s feel to it. This surprised me.

Helt ok sound, inget jättebra

Barring the couple of "hits", it's fairly weak.

Didlittle for me

its fine. I guess its alt rock? not totally sure 2.5

head banger for a rager . probably fun to see live.

-Alternative, meh -Short lyrics -A lot of quiet -> loud

The album started off really strong, but quickly fell off. Track 6 and beyond I didnt enjoy very much.

Sounds great, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this

Debaser - yelllike no one listened, 2nd half is coo Tame - nothing but Wave of Mutilation - waaave I Bleed - same inside Here Comes Your Man - here he come Dead - sendoff Monkey Gone to Heaven - 6+7+? = ? Mr. Grieves - will talk soon Mr. Crackity Jones - crack is wack La La Love You - hard to say easy to confuse No 13 Baby - the eyes are telling There Goes My Gun - shoot first ask q later Hey - meant to be Silver - leaving for tomorrows better Gouge Away - do if you must 7/14 songs enjoyed best song* Here Comes Your Man 5.5/10

Typical late 80’s, early 90s music. 2.5/10

OK nothing special for me

day 1, interesting album not exactly my type but ok lol

This albums has a few great songs and others that are just there to add play time. It is a good example of the style at that point in time but I doubt I'll listen the full album ever again.

några bra låtar

Digget dette når jeg var 17, men nå syns jeg bare det er irriterende

Yeah it was ok, not a huge fan

Que es este choshinero?... Pura pedazera ni debería ser un álbum

I thought I was going to like it more

listened to only 2 songs not my type i could see why people like it though

Some enjoyable parts, but all in all not my cup of tea. Will probably never listen to this album again.

I didn't like this album very much. I wasn't expecting the Pixies to be so scream-y? but especially on the second track (Tame, I think?) it was a little much for me. "Here Comes Your Man" is surf-rock-y and definitely the best song on the album

12/4 Love the edgy, dark content of it, I'm not too big a fan of the genre of noise-pop apparently. It's not bad per se, just I always expect the noise to be more melodic... yeah. Standout Tracks: Debaser, Tame, I Bleed

Not enjoying this.

Yea I did not like this I was just hoping the album would finish and yes I could have stopped listening but fuck it. Yea the album got worst and overstimulating I am good

Forgettable and somewhat annoying.

Synu 😭 Nawet OK kiedy nie śpiewają. 3/10 Ulubiona piosenka: Wave of Mutilation

No me gustó para nada, aburrido

No me encantó.

Doo doo

Really not for me

It all sounds the same These screams get real boring real quick It’s just sounds like noise

No me gustó

This album is horrible, this is my first DNF

Cacophony

Oubliable

Not for me....5 songs in then gave up.

Started out with an annoying repetitive song. Did not get much better. Waves Of Mutilation is the only one I've heard before, that one is ok. Here Comes Your Man, No 13 Baby, and Silver were also ok. The rest was junk. Best song: Waves of Mutilation

It's very clear what this album influenced, and there is very minimal music I like from that influence.
