Reviews (page 7 of 8)
Not to my taste.
Some nice melodies.
This album just doesn't have anything I like in music. It's very vocal-focused, and the instrumentation is mostly minimalistic and in the background. It becomes a little more lively towards the end, but the majority of the record wasn't very interesting to me. Can't say I hate—it was pretty easy to listen to—but this album was ultimately pretty boring for me.
I was not previously familiar with the artist or album. As evident from the title, this album is not in English - it's actually Portuguese. There are some interesting tracks here, but I feel it's a bit long for me given I don't speak the language. I did not mind hearing this but doubt I would listen again.
Some of the songs here are lush or psychedelic, and those are the best songs. But they're the exception. The majority are simpler pop songs centered on the acoustic guitar. There are traces in those songs of all the genres and influences that inspired this album, but they're pretty subtle. Or, like on "Dos Cruces," they take too long to show up. If you enjoy acoustic guitar and appreciate those subtle influences, this is probably an enjoyable album. If you don't, the hour run time becomes a slog. If it wasn't obvious from my rating, that's the side I fall on. I can't help but wish there were more upbeat songs on this. There's also definitely a language barrier here, but even incredible lyrics wouldn't make it more enjoyable.
God save me from "visionary" artists. I think they were looking at their navels...
Interesting, not for me.
A well produced album even if it is not my usual musical taste
It started out well, but after four or five songs, it felt like I had been listening for hours instead of minutes. Couldn't go on, had to quit.
Tough slog for me. Not really my mystical taste, and a bit too long. Kept trying to get tuned into the vibe, just couldn't get there on this one.
Relaxing, poolside 70s.
2/5 Best Track - "Nuvem Cigana"
I like the world stuff as it brings me stuff i dont know. Sometimes it blows me away and sometimes it blows by me. This was the latter with 1.5 listens passing without me finding anything to get excited about. I suspect this is here to represent a genre of music as a whole and thats fine, but i didnt find value here.
The heart just wasn’t in this one. And the heart wants what it wants
It was decent. Wanted to enjoy it more, but just couldn’t get into it. The musicianship was solid, though.
Picture this: you’re at your bachelor pad, mixing up an overly complex cocktail (you’re a mixologist, not a wanna-be bartender) because you’re trying to impress this girl you managed, somehow, to lure home from the speakeasy (bars are too pedestrian). You consider yourself to be a gentlemen of culture; you pronounce Ibiza “Ibitha”, because your parents took you to Madrid one time when you were in your teens, and you want to convince this girl you’re worldly. However, you’re irrationally afraid of awkward silences because, despite how interesting you project yourself to be, you know deep down that under your Patagonia vest that you’re just another hedge fund douche, and you don’t want an awkward silence to force you into an actual conversation wherein you reveal this fact. Have no fear, because Milton Nasimento has entered the chat (on vinyl obviously). You have no idea what he’s saying, because you gave up on Spanish after high school, but you talk about your experience in Spain (where you seldom left the Hilton your parents paid for), in hopes that she would be so impressed that her bra just falls right off (adequate forplay in your mind). Unfortunately she doesn’t like the drink you made for her. She leaves your bachelor pad, bra intact. You feel successful however because tonight was 40% closer than you’ve been to sealing the deal for a while now. You turn off Milton and turn on a Joe Rogan podcast, convincing yourself that girls like her are the problem.
1,9/5
The mono sections are ...less than pleasant on headset. I have no idea what the lyrics are. The music itself is decent though. Some of it kind of gives me 70's James Bond vibes. 2,5/5
Not my thing und any mood
I tried, but not my style
Pretty good I think, don't really remember
I cannot honestly say I’m excited to listen to an hour long Brazilian album today. But duty calls so here goes. The experience was actually not too bad! It was a lot more entertaining than I was expecting. And I imagine if I spoke Portuguese it would have been even better, perhaps decent even. I don’t know if I’d seek out to listen to this again but it didn’t end up ruining my day and that is a win. Still doesn’t get more than two stars though.
Not unpleasant, just not for me.
Not what I thought it would be - I was hoping for really wild and upbeat. It was more...not memorable?
I don't like music in my own language, and Spanish/Portuguese is even worse. I don't like how it sounds in songs. Never have. Instruments sounds alright. Appreciate there's no reggaeton beats at least. Is he even known outside the latin scene!? I jumped ship half way through. There's no way I would appreciate the album more in the 2nd half, so continuing would be a waste of time. Sorry mr. Milton. Look at the bright side, I'm now listening to Mike Patton's Italian Mondo Cane, and actually like it way more than before. I give Mondo Cane 4/5. Thank you mr. Milton
I couldn't get into this record. The language barrier might play a factor, but I don't think I could get into the melodies and the general sound of this record. I didn't have many highlights. I enjoyed the heavier rock-oriented songs in this record. My lowlights, as you my have I have guessed, were the general melodies in many of the songs. The language barrier was also an issue, but that's just my own skill issue. Favourite Track(s): Trem De Doido Least Favourite Track(s): Lilia, Ao Que Vai Nascer, Cravo E Canela
This all sounded the same to me and just dragged on way too long. 2/5
some interesting instrumentation but the vocals were grating and overall i got bored and couldn't finish it
Should probably have been a three, but it went on too long and got a bit annoying by the end. I just wanted it to end, as it felt like there was nothing new to hear. A mostly-pleasant two stars.
2.5
Nice and groovy. Great background muzak.
Some catchy tracks on here which expand on the Brazilian samba sound, although there are too many songs that go nowhere. Best Tracks: - O Trem Azul - Paisagem Da Janela Worst Tracks: - Pelo Amor De Deus Rating: 3.5/10
This was fine. It wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t bad
My first non-English speaking album! I like some songs I’ve come across that are in (Brazilian) Portuguese - but this record was not for me. I’m not a fan of the singers‘ voices and performances. Their voices sounded the same in each and every song and that applies to the instruments in the background too. However, the instruments really shone in some of the songs and I did like that. I had ChatGPT make short translations so I had a clue of what was going on in the songs. I liked the lyrics! They were simple but effectively melancholic. So I’m rating it two stars, one for the instruments and one for the writing. But overall this was exhausting to listen to.
I wish I knew the language. Musically it's great. Kinda slow, but I think that's not a bad thing. I just think knowing what he is singing would help me "get" this album. Trem De Doido is a favorite of mine from this.
This was nice
2/5b snorefest
Not my cup tea
No thanks
Thought this started off well enough, found it a bit boring by the mid point. Didn't finish it
I expected a bit more liveliness from this.
p266, 1972. 2 stars. Inoffensive Brazilian pop with no redeeming features. Pass.
Ok 2/5
2.5 - a very interesting album that I feel like I would have liked more than I did. It always seemed so close to being a great album but it just never grabbed me
Not bad, just apples to oranges when it’s all Portuguese to me.
Not my style.
For mig lidt intet sigende. Hyggeligt nok med World, men ikke lige den her.
I didn't understand a word, but that didn't matter. Even though I didn't like this kind of "lounge-music" it was okay.
niet slecht, maar ook niet goed
Ok to start but just went on and on
Kind of washed over me in a bit unfocused but pleasant foreign language way. 2.5 really but can't justify a 3.
Half the songs feel exactly the same. There are about 2 tracks that are worth listening to.
In terms of this list, it has a pretty unique sound, I'm not sure I've been served any other albums of this genre. Which leads me to a question - what genre is this? It sounded like a wishy-washy spoof of western pop music. There's an fella in Italy that made a track a long time ago, that was basically a load of gibberish made to sound like popular English-speaking music of the time. I am reminded of that by this album. It was like a Brazilian Brian Eno album - ok, it wasn't that bad! It wasn't "I can't listen to this shit" bad, but I wouldn't find myself seeking it out for a re-listen. If it's your 'thing' then good for you, but it's not for me.
Difficult for me, probably great for others.
Then finish it but I'm not sure it was exactly my thing.
It's interesting, but it's tough to be invested when I can't really understand the language. good music though.
latin music never interests me 2/5
There are moments of beauty to be found in Clube da Esquina, such as the soothing guitar work on “Trem de Doido,” which provides a pleasant backdrop. However, as a whole, the album didn’t resonate with me. The vocals, in particular, were a challenge to get through, and at several points, I debated whether to finish listening. While I can appreciate the artistry behind the music, it ultimately didn’t connect with me in a meaningful way. Score: 2/5

Album 593 of 1001 Milton Nascimento/Lô Borges - Clube Da Esquina (1972) Rating : 2.5 / 5 Some pleasant enough music. I don't speak Portuguese, so I'm kind of lost on the lyrics. Pretty chill.
I’ll give it a sympathy 2, but I just can’t do this kind of music
Hard to listen to all of it. I just left it in the background. Not sure I really liked it.
Tried to think of a scenario/location where I'd enjoy listening to this, but I couldn't. No me gusta.
Enjoyed the first song and trem de doido... otherwise the album was a bit of a snorefest. Wouldn't return to it
This was not quite what I expected. It did nothing for me and I’m quite disappointed. I lost interest, it went on too long
Day172 - i don’t know if understanding words would make this album better
I like the craft at display here, but this just wasn’t for me and that makes the 1 hour and 4 minutes feel quite long.
I'm not sure if the album got worse or if I could only tolerate this sort of music for a short while. Either way I was happy for it to end.
2.5
It’s fine - but not something I would put on again.
Cool music. Like other Brazilian records, this is also sung in Portuguese and I have the slightest clue what is being said. So I paid attention to the melodies and what those brought to the vocal side of things. It's ok. Unfortunately, with foreign records, it's hards to actually get into. It takes some time. So I think Maye a few listens of this would sway my rating. But for now it gets what I'm giving it.
Medio un embole
Interesting to begin with, but all starts to sound the same after a while. 2.25
Despite not knowing much portugese, I felt like I heard this album more than Born to Run the day before; wish I was able to understand more.
Nice. Didn't mind it. would have been happier stopping half way. Was edging a 3 until then.
Yeah, this one was hard. I did not get through all of it. It was a weird cross on socially conscious 60's and 50's standards. Hard to explain, but ultimately to my ears pretty boring and uninteresting. Musicianship was obviously good, but that wasn't enough to draw me in.
Not my bag
Pleasant in parts, but ran on too long and my lack of love for non-english music shone through. 2.5*
I'm filing this under the 20% that doesn't deserve to be on this list. Nice but forgettable.
Look at my extensive knowledge of music. This is a must listen! - said no one ever
Clube de Esquina, by Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges, is a sprawling album that didn't quite hit the mark for me. While it's undeniably rich in Brazilian musical influences, I found its lengthy runtime to be somewhat off-putting. Despite its attempts to blend various genres like rock and jazz with traditional Brazilian styles, I struggled to connect with many of the tracks. Songs like Cais and O Trem Azul showcase the duo's musical talent, but the sheer number of tracks on the album left me feeling overwhelmed and unable to fully appreciate each one. NUMBER OF BANGERS - 0 STAND OUT TRACK - None
Not bad but won’t listen again
Too depressing.
In general I wish there was a bit less US/British music on this list, and a bit more from other countries. But this album didn't do it for me.
It's another album that I know I listened to but can't remember anything about.
Not really my cup of tea, interesting but didn’t grab me
boring
For me the music couldn’t keep my attention and kept fading into the background.
Meh
Erg braziliaans
..
Nothing grabbed my attention here, but not actively bad
Nice background/elevator music
Brazilian, but didn't vibe for me.
Background music at best.
voice nice
Reinded e of the Suth f France in the suer. It was alright.
Alright.
This album is a good selection for the 1001 list. Didn’t know anything about and had never heard any Brazilian music. Enjoyed listening, it lost a little not being able to understand the lyrics, was a bit too long and weak at the finish. Overall a commendable effort. (2.3*s)
This album started off strong but couldn't hold it all the way through, there's just too many tracks and some are too sleepy. Although, each one is it's own journey (and some are only 20 seconds long). I did really like "Um Girassol" and, unsurprisingly, a lot of the songs have "Estrela" in the lyrics which caught my ear. It's a diverse assortment of styles, very progressive, and I enjoyed the listen. Portuguese is a beautiful language and this band is better than most I've heard in this genre. Solid 2.25.
It’s not that I mind listening to folk music, it’s just that I’d be rather listening to something else. If this was live I’d enjoy it. Listens: 1 Fave Track: Dos Cruces Rating: 2
I can see how this album is a cultural touchstone for Brazilian music, put together with the help of Nascimento & Borges. Wouldnt put this album in my regular rotation but it was nice to listen to get an understanding on Brazilian culture. Best: Um Gosto De Sol Worst: Saídas e Bandeiras Nº 1 2.5 Stars
Stopped on track 9 of ~1000
Pleasant enough.
I've got so few reference points here. The lyrics mean nothing to me. The sound is breezy. It felt like summer is on its way. Plus I do love a good whistle on a song. The album drifted slightly on the slower numbers. I bailed after ten tracks.
Kinda sounded like Brazilian Morrissey
I did really like a few of the songs on this album and did find it overall beautiful, but I found myself a bit bored listening to this
Couldn’t get through the whole album…wasn’t feeling it
This felt like movie background music. Not bad, but too slow for me and not my style.
Not for me
Sorry, I couldn't listen to this whole album. It just didn't hold my interest.
2.5
Music was good. Enjoyable
This was not for me. I tried to enjoy myself with it and just couldn’t. Musically speaking is expertly done. That’s not where the problems here lie. Those mostly stem from the lack of catch within the overall record. There’s nothing to grab on to.
Pretty sure this is the album Shaun puts on when he’s in the bubble bath.
2.2 Nothing really stood out for me in any of the tracks. Maybe the lyrics really hit home with listeners...
Thr album was definitely was not what I was expecting. It was not bad but it wasn't good. I have no idea what they were saying but even if I had I don't think it would have gotten a higher score. It was just kind of there. No need to revisit.
So boring man, also, I couldn’t understand any words but thats my own fault for not knowing Spanish. The only thing I could see this working for is just something you have on in the background, but even then, it would get boring after maybe 3 songs.
Portuguese? Reminds me of ELP
Not for me 2/5
Felt generic. Never connected to it.
I've said it before, but an album has to be exceptionally catchy for me to enjoy it if it's not in English. That's probably on me, but it's still a thing. I didn't really enjoy anything on this one, but never really wanted to skip anything or turn it off, either.
20 Based on this scale: 1 - 0 to 19 2 - 20 to 39 3 - 40 to 59 4 - 60 to 79 5 - 80 to 100 While the album isn't without its interesting moments, it doesn't appeal to me very much overall.
Ehhh it’s fine. Not my thing (2.5/5)
Shite
with apologies to drunk i just couldn't get into this at all
Nothing wrong with this, nice to see (hear) a foreign language album included in this list. It's just not really my cup of tea.
That was a nice surprise. Talented musicians and vocals. As somebody who likes songs that tell stories, I wish I wasn’t that typical English bloke that only understands English! But it was a very pleasant listen, I enjoyed the acoustic guitar work and the arrangements, which created a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Nicht so meins.
Not my cup of tea
This is not one of the 1001 albums I had to listen to. Although it was perfectly fine music.
Pretty borning.
I'm sure this is very good. It doesn't work for me
Good album but it was too long and lost my attention about a third of the way in.
- Spanish music but a lot of it is slower than I would like - Very pleasant to listen to, just not my vibe - Not something I would go back to - 2.5
Not a fan of foreign music - but this was OK
Was very open to it at the start of the start of the album but quickly tired of it.
Sonically not my favourite but I appreciated the complexities of this record.
Good going, nothing that grabbed me
Elevator music
Not my jam
The binaural audio portions threw me off a bit
This was decent background music.
not terrible but not really my thing
Always hard to evaluate a foreign language album, but this one doesn't do it for me.
Latin, brasiliansk, rock, stemningsfyldt, svingende
Portugues cool but otherwise not super interesting
Like being in Nandos for an hour or an episode of Narcos. Enjoyed it at first but dragged on for too long. Better than expected.
Background music at best
I've heard enough south american albums on this list to know that there are far better ones than this. At first, I thought this was the Brazilian version of Japanese city pop but then it went through a bunch of different sounds through a very long one-hour runtime. There are a couple of good tracks like gusto del sol but by the end I just wanted it to be over and that's why it gets a high two.
Got through most of it but nothing caught my attention
Like being in Nandos for an hour or an episode of Narcos. Enjoyed it at first but dragged on for too long. Better than expected.
Best: O Trem Azul Worst: Dos Cruces
I feel very uncultured, but it was a bit too jazzy for me, soz.
Beatle wannabes mixing Latin music with the songs of their icons. While I love the Beatles, this album leaves me a bit annoyed, which may be due to the whiney delivery of many of the vocals. That may be par for the course for Latin music in general, but it just isn't my cup of tea. 2/5
Not for me.
Just not feeling this one. Voice sounds out of tune at points.
kinda jazzy, folky Brazilian music from the 70s. Meh
Started off strong but couldn't get into it
Kinda sleepy time music. Could not get into it but maybe that’s just because I’m tired
2/5. The language barrier is the biggest obstacle but it feels too dreamy to feel invested. I can tell there are repetitive lyrics but not in a good way.
Great Guitar, but not in English
It was an interesting listen, not something I would obviously seek out. Not something I’d listen to again but was good for one go.
Nja...
not for me
Didn't get much out of this. Felt pensive and sorrowful, but I didn't understand the actual words.
- Never heard of this - Started off decent, got very grating - Too long - Fav songs: Cravo E Canela, Clube da Esquina #2
Me he aburrido, lo siento. No es malo, pero no es imprescindible. 2 estrellas **.
Decent world music
Slow and boring. Has its moments.
Pretty but not a choice I’ll make
A surprise to find a Brasilian collective in a sea of English and American bands and singers. Clube Da Esquina is a group of musicians, headlined by Milton Nascimento and Lõ Borges, playing heavily brasilian folk-influenced music, with an occasional rock additions. Apparently, during the creation of the album, musicians were trying to mold their music the same way The Beatles were doing few years back, and it can be heard from time to time on some of the songs. It's one of the most influential albums in Brasil history, but is that important for the rest of the world? First of all, I'm not a fan of folk music from Portugal or Brasil. The main issue I have is the style of singing, frequented by both Borges and Nascimento - long howls, slowly digesting every note and every part, with a maudlin guitars, bringing the mood straight to the gutter. The fact that songs are written in Portuguese makes it even worse, as its hard to rely on lyrics to feel the same as the band. Many songs are not really different from more contemporary artists (kudos for starting a trend), and they don't stand out as especially great or unforgettable. But then, on songs like "Dos Cruces", or "Um Girassol da cor de seu cabello" we have those straight-out-of-progressive rock-parts, or even psychedelic, which transform the song into something much more interesting and complete. Unfortunately, those moments are rare on the album and because of that are muddled in-between folk parts into a occasional gimmicks. It was a nice album, but from my current position, I couldn't enjoy it - barrier of language and time was just too much.
Quite nice, bit overly long for me, I was quite tired of it by the end. Airy, melodic feel to it.
It's nice but really hard to enjoy when the language is so difficult. I think this one would take more time to appreciate. 2.5 / 5
OK, interesting to hear once, but hits many of the same things I dislike in 70s music. Feels like lazy, weekend afternoon listening when you're doing something else. Not likely to remember it much after the first listen, but I've heard far worse. By about halfway through, I was starting to feel pretty bored with it. Inoffensive background music but nothing hooking me in at this point. Tracks 15 & 16 got more and more experimental. I hated them.
This was a pretty good listen. The biggest knock against it is that nothing really stood out for me or was anything that I would give another listen to. It was really pleasant background noise and not much else.
Not really for me
Strange and compelling album, mixing traditional Brazilian music with dashes of psychedelia. Quite a few filler songs, and the vocals are frequently lacking. Starts strong though and the first track “Tudo O Qué Você Podia Ser” is promising - but honestly, clocking in at over an hour the album gets a little tiring.
Not fussed. Smooth latin vibes though to be fair
With such a stellar reputation and pedigree, I really wanted to broaden my tastes a little bit. I gave it no less than five tries. But the almost atonal vocals are just a poison pill for this. Maybe if I spoke Portuguese the profundity would come through.
Didn’t make it through the album. I’m not listening to something I can’t understand.
I had a hard time getting into this. It was like Brazilian AM radio
Clube Da Esquina. Easy Brazilian listening stylings, unremarkable but not bad. 2/5.
I see no way to differentiate this from the fifty million other Brazilian albums that we've had. Honestly, I'm baffled by the reviews on the site being able to go into so much detail about it, I listened to it twice yesterday and have already forgotten almost everything about it. 2/5 as it was perfectly fine to have on in the background.
It was fine-ish. Way too long. Music itself didn't really wow me. I checked out a few times.
Interesting album
An exquisite album... that's not for me. But I bet it's for you, so check it out.
Eenmalig.
Didn’t get into this one - one of the least impressive of the Latin records I’ve had so far.
not for me
Don't mind a bit of Latin but didn't find any of these songs grabbed me.
It is a fine album. Songs not in English are difficult for me to enjoy, but some songs did have a groovy beat.
I'm apparently not feeling the love today. My reviews here are not about the artists or the amount of work and effort put into this. It's just a mood of wanting to listen to something... This album would be great if I was sipping on a drink in the sun on the beach, I think.
I think it's tough to be successful with a vocal heavy foreign language album. The music is okay, but generally uninteresting. Not much that actually is catching and worthy of listening to own it's own. A little tiresome by the end.
i didn’t gain anything from this album, i can totally see why people would enjoy it and i think it’s very fun and i can definitely see how it would be influential however i just didn’t find it totally appealing? but it was interesting.
How do I even rate this...? It's music and he's definitely a talented musician, but there's nothing here that's enjoying for me. I can imagine I'd listen to this at some bomb-ass Brazillian joint and I'd love it for the experience, but listening to it between writing and completing my TPS reports, it does nothing except agitate me. Sorry Milton.
Best Song: Cravo E Canela. Dance-y and uplifting. Worst Song: Me Deixa Em Paz. Without knowing the content of the lyrics, this feels like a religious proclamation that I needn't be a part of. Overall: A bit of a fever dream, although sadly one that went on long enough for me to want some medicine.
Well I wasn't expecting this. Reading Wiki and looking at reviews I'm piecing this together I think. Airy and easy listening, floaty and mellow I don't really need to know the words as I'm sure they match the music. I don't dislike it but there are other Brazilian artists in the 60's that have real integrity and punch. I'm thinking the Beatles are an influence? Maybe the French pop artists from the 60's too? Musically quite accomplished- but as others have noted the production isn't great (it's a bit tinny and flat).
Instruments good…. Vocals ick
Not blown away by this
Not bad, relaxing, but couldn't listen to the whole thing
Loved the first song. Rest was alright
Liked the first song a lot. Was an ok album
Lamb chops
Meh, not my style
Nieprzyzwoicie mdły folk
Bored so bored.
Couldn't get into this one. Just didn't really dig it. Terribly sorry.
Bit dull
First Listen. I wish I understood Portuguese because I think the lyrics have to be as amazing as the melodies. This album has such an amazing, calming presence. This is one of those albums I would have never listened to in my life. So I am grateful that it is on this list so I did get the chance to hear it. I can't wait to listen to more of it in the future. My rating may seem low for now, but I know this album will only go up as I listen to it more. 2.5/5
I didn't like it. Could not get into at all.
hard pass
Nice background music for a restaurant, maybe. Don't remember anything about this - instantly forgotten.
Ok, but it didn't jump out at me
Tudo Que Você Podia Ser
Leuk voor op de achtergrond
I want to draag espadrilles en dans met moeders op deze jams
Not really my thing BUT this track is excellent https://open.spotify.com/track/2eDUcjS6SSDJd6Rcx4TFkd?si=plPDOFp1RwO4UYZEP9zapw
Lijep pozdrav. ?/5
I didn't enjoy this album very much, but I read about it and I understand its importance in the history of Brazilian music, so nice to see it get some attention. For my own musical preferences, not my thing.
Dont care for this....it's not really jazzy either
Zweitbestes Latino Album.
not my thing
I can appreciate this but I can't say it was an enjoyable listen to me.
It was fine. Won’t listen again.
Enjoyed some of the melodies.
good sound but hard to get into personally without knowing the language
I gave it a go but it’s not my thing. A pleasant singing voice but I couldn’t get into it. 2stars
Melkeen pääsin loppuun asti. Olisin helposti voinut kuolla ilman kuulematta tätä levyä ollenkaan
its not meh but i wouldnt listen to it again its okay i guess
Nå slags brasilianskt nånting. Meh.
I just don't have the patience or open mindedness for this.
not really my thing
Vervelend op de achtergrond
Kinda repetitive. This list is making me hate ethnic music.
This is just annoying as all get out. I actively hate it. I could not get through this very bossanova nightmare.
Just loads of soft Portuguese singing that does nothing for me. Ten minutes was sufficient, twenty was plenty, thirty excessive. As I came up on the the hour I was more than ready for it to be over.
Despite there being a nice moment or two, this album is doing absolutely nothing for me. While I am not taking away its influence and obvious quality, I was not taken even for a moment. I think this has to do with my general dislike of Latin music, or rather, lack of appreciation. Still, all on me, doubt I'll ever find Latin music I enjoy, but that won't stop me from trying. Love the Latin culture though!
Warm, lightly sun-dazed arrangements built from soft electric pianos, chiming guitars, airy percussion, and mellow horn and string flourishes carry this Música popular brasileira album like a leave falling slowly to the ground in a summer breeze. Interesting to look at for a short Moment in time and intensely boring listening for Long periods of time.
This is said to be influential to Brazilian music. If so then I guess I won't like Brazilian music.
I’m not really a bossanova person, it’s not bad it just doesn’t really do anything for me

Totalno nepoznano. Do zdaj zelo chill. Tretji komad, "O Trem Azul" me rahlo spomne na letošnjo portugalsko evrovizijsko, but could just be the portuguese language. Mah, skoz mi je tak vajb. Ful enih dolgočasnih komadov, vmes kšn bl poskočn, in to je to. Ok, ta, "Um Girassol Da Cor De Seu Cabelo", se je zj prot koncu vsaj mal razgibal. Mogoč bi blo boljš, če bi razumela kaj pojejo? Tko mi je pa sam zelo bland. Preprost ni zame tole. And that's ok.
Nope
Not for me
Second day on trot I’ve been served with a tick box selection ensuring that this list covers every possible Country and culture etc. This one though is a bit better than the last one which was so bad I’ve already forgotten what it was and erased it from my memory. And likewise tomorrow I will have forgotten this. Very negative I know as the authors of the list will have made a real effort to include this album to educate us all but there are bounds to how far my musical appreciation stretches and try as I might this ‘un doesn’t stretch far. 1/5 6/7/25
nope. sounds like some kind of outdoor church music or something. No thanks.
This album is just not for me. It is depressing for some reason.
Yeah, no. I am positive I checked no foreign language albums but here we are. I wish I knew what they were saying. 1/5

Nice rhythms through out the album but the songs didn't catch my ear and the combination with me not understanding the language made me skip a lot. Not the best sign when listening to an album.
Bad
Nice background music, but not my bag
I just can't get into the whole bossanova thing
I always struggle with foreign language music. Lyrics are important to me. I found the album boring and receptive. It was a very hard listen. I am going to need a good album tomorrow to pick me up from the last 3-4 days
No habla
Por favor bordón de fallar muchos gracias de fallar gracias The most boring Spanish music
No
No Bueno
Did not listen
No mas
Boring production holds back my enjoyment of this album
Maybe good for some background at a Brazilian restaurant but not a commute. I was trying to think if the songs were in english would I like it more and after completion...No. It's nice but too sleepy.
There have been a handful of foreign language albums thus far on the list. Some have been a nice treat. Clube Da Esquina did nothing to make me think this belonged on the list. I'm sure this is influential for Brazilian music but this is a skip from me. 0.80 stars
Did not listen. Not my style
I have no reference point for this sound. That being said, it was pleasantly calming to listen to. Not gonna jump on board with this genre tho. Prolly won't listen to more by choice.
I couldn't struggle through this entire album....I tried.... I would rather get a root canal.
Ei filtteriä, vain juustoa. Olipa Nuvem Cigana epämiellyttävä.
Not my thing
Not my type of music
Nope
Cantano in portoghese blueh
Had to stop listening, couldnt understand
Not my thing, music ok, not big on singer’s voice
Turns out folk music in a foreign language doesn't help
Why in portuguese
Not my cup of tea. Not knocking it for those that vibe with it but I'd rather have a colonoscopy than listen to this again.
Honestly, this album always had an uphill battle with all the lyrics being in Portuguese. But all that put aside, this simply isn't the type of music that moves me. Favorite track: Clube Da Esquina No 2
No Bueno. Only got through a couple songs before I had to stop
Not greAt. Sounded like a Latin Ior Portuguese Beatles just not good. Won’t listen again
Brazilian Beatles, but not good
I don’t really understand Brazilian or Portuguese and didn’t find this album too interesting. 0.0/10
Føles feil å rate. Helt feil sjanger for meg.
Non English. Not interested.
