interesting album. some nice sounds

Very gentle and soothing record. The vocals and instrumentation are ethereal and magical at times - a real pleasure to listen to. It's sensual and soft, but carries a mystic quality about it that keeps my attention. This is a really nice one.

I would have preferred a bit more pace here but, all in all, it's a nice album to have on whe you've got a warm blanket and a good book.

This didn't really work all that well for me, largely because (a) I don't understand Portuguese, and (b) their style of music (wide-ranging as it is) isn't really my thing. The Wikipedia entry is very helpful for those who want a sense of what some of the songs are about (and funny to read that contemporary Brazilian music critics utterly panned the album, despite its international success), and the "1001 Albums" entry helps provide an enthusiastic connection to the Beatles and the artists' connection to each other. But it's a bit frustrating to listen to yet another double album, and feeling like I'm missing quite a bit by not understanding a single word.

I tried to love this because it seems really cool. Will keep revisiting.

This is fun

Didn’t understand a single word but enjoyed the album. Not once did I think I don’t wanna listen to this.

Interesting. New to me.

This album was nice for a change and some of the orchestrations were very interesting. Gentle background music.

Started out finding this one really interesting! It just went on a bit long and didn't hold my interest - not bad though!

Experimental experience

Cool vibe I guess?

Lovely

Fun for a while, but it all sounds quite the same.

This one is new to me and requires more listens than I can fit into one day to truly appreciate it. There are moments when it completely grabbed my attention and moments when it grated on my nerves. Probably suffers from being too long but has a crazy mix of vibrant music.

Not something if typically listen to but I did appreciate it. Smooth and beautiful at times, interesting and experimental at others.

It was fun and I enjoyed it even though I didn't know a word

When I saw this come up I was a little concerned it would just be another basic album with that characteristic Brazilian sound. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that fused with other styles, particularly Britpop sounds that would be at home on a Zombies album. This was a very enjoyable listen

Good but in a foreign language it’s going to have to be amazing for me to save

Hadn't heard of this at all before. Enjoyable listen. A welcome contrast on a dark and windswept early morning dog walk.

These are tougher albums to rate, as there was a lot i liked on here, it just wasn’t as recognizable of an album. I don’t think I’d revisit these tunes, but it was a good one-time listen.

This is certainly something. Although, I'm sure I would only play this when Brazilians come to visit to seem more sophisticated and cosmopolitan ...so most likely never.

Really fun find! Glad I get to learn about more international music. Best Song: Tudo O Que Voce Poder Ser Rating: 6/10 Stars: 3

I’ve got to listen to this one again, since I was a little distracted. But really liked what I caught! 3 stars for now

Entertaining.

Brazilian Portuguese music from outer space. Pretty freakin’ cool.

Would definitely like more time with this. There was some very beautiful stuff here but a double record of unfamiliar stuff is hard to get into

Some really good and some really eh stuff. 3.5

One track has a dude in my right ear doing the rhythm with his mouth. Definitely listen with headphones as they make use of the different sides. I don’t speak this language so I don’t know what they’re saying except when they mention arms or now and stuff like that. Didn’t expect the electric guitar on the later track. Second to last track best guess translation is Nothing Will Be The Same As Before. The tempo on these songs was all more mellow than I expected but honestly I had no right to expect anything. Overall, I never would have listened to this otherwise and am quite glad I did. I listened while walking around a sculpture garden and park on an art walk and it meshed perfectly.

An eclectic mix of Brazilian soft rock, jazz, and folk. I thought it was solid! Give it a chance! 3/5

I liked it a lot, very seasidey and harmonious. However, I enjoy Milton Nascimento’s album Travessia more.

Zero idea what they are singing about but it's a nice mellow and relaxing melody.

This was an ok album. I felt it lasted a lot longer than it needed but the vibes was really chill and great for a long drive.

I had never encountered this before, which was exciting, but I think I wanted to like it more than I did.

This was an enjoyable, mellow listen. No real highs or lows, but it was pleasurable enough.

3/5 this would be great after 5 orn6 Caiprihanas. Unfortunately, my cup is empty

Beautiful music. Decent lyrics. Although I couldn’t understand any of them.

Nice and quiet. Nothing special after one listen

I liked this. Mellow vibe.

Fun but wont return

Maybe it’s my fault, I was anticipating something more interesting. A few flashes of inspiration here and there but mostly bland balladeering.

Fine. Pleasant. Nothing special.

Decent album and relaxing to listen to. Sadly I don't speak Portuguese, so I've got little clue to what this album is referring to.

While there's plenty of emotional highs and lows in this one, the length made it drag a bit at the end. The sound holds up surprisingly well considering when this was made.

This is nice. Kinda floats along in this hazy, tropical way. Props for the ambition and how clean the whole thing sounds. Spins: 2 Playlist Additions: - Tudo O Que Você Podia Ser - Um Girassol Da Cor Do Seu Cabelo - Paisagem Da Janela

I enjoyed this album. For me, it was unique.

I was definitely into most of the first half of this album, but it also ended up just falling into the background as I got a little bored by it. Nice, easy listening though. Mid-3.

This is the album equivalent of a base hit. Perfectly fine, but I don't really have the patience for it in this day and age. I feel like we have been getting a lot of hour long albums that aren't spectacular.

Was a really nice cloudy morning listen to at first but then dragged along and I seriously zoned out while listening. Trem De Doido was awesome though sounded like some Black Keys. Good but too long.

Damn the build up on this first song is pretty sweet. Vibing hard! The rest of the album was solid but didn't really compare mostly for me. Alright 3 though.

This was very chill, I liked the music but not always the singing.

I enjoyed almost all of this but also gotta point out: even some Brazilian acts aren’t immune from being Shitty Beatles

Interesting, Different. Albums like this are why I did this....new styles, countries of origin, just things that are different. This was very good.

Portuguese vocals over jangly pop

The music was alright, no clue what the fella was singing about though.

Not understanding, but I am totally grabbing the feel. It seems to be chancing differing tones and approaches, a nice feel for what works.

This definitely grew on me. I was becoming more invested as it went on - Trem de Doido was a highlight. I have no issue with music in different languages- my penchant for Cool Cymru is testament to that. So I was happy to go with the flow. It’s a classic 3.5 and I would listen again.

This album started out strong, of course I don't know what the lyrical content is, but the tunes were relatable and I was digging the vibe. As the album rolled on, that dissipated and by the end I was way less enamored with what I was listening to. So, started as a 4 and slid downward from there. Might be a case of not really getting the nuances of the material (i.e., the lyrics) ended up working against it for me.

This started to grow on me as I settled into the language. Some (but not all) of the tunes would be a nice groove for a summer afternoon party.

It was fine.

1972. Tudo O Que Você Podia Ser, Cravo E Canela

Funky, but holy hell is the stereo mix on this bad.

Interesting. Wish I understood the lyrics. But this is why I’m doing this project. I enjoyed it overall.

This album is pretty tight. Way, way too long though

Another one of those albums I only found out about because of this list, and it’s really enjoyable. I expected a banging latin album that would have me dancing. Instead it was super a chill and relaxing. I don’t understand Portuguese, so that’s on me, but it reduces from my appreciation of the artistry as a whole. 3.5⭐️

Very pleasant.

Pretty well made and I like the blend of genres. I can't say my experience matched the hype that it seems to get online but I enjoyed it. Also, Portuguese might be the best language for music, couldn't say why.

Must listen? Hmmmm. Interesting? Vaguely. Unique? Possibly. Liked some of it.

Totally fine 3 stars. Fun listen, don't need to listen again. - Lovely! Not rock. Interest is piqued. - Background noise so far. A bit eclectic in genre

This started really well but I struggled to stay interested as it went on. I'm planning on listening to more to see if it was my mood.

Good album of some light jazzy numbers. I would listen to it again.

Pretty good. Another example of an album I never would have listened to had it not been for 1001 albums. I found it pleasant & enjoyable listening.

An interesting genre fusion piece from Brazil. You can definitely hear some Beatles/psychedelia influence, as well as that Brazilian bossa nova/samba flair. Can't speak on the lyrical themes of course, but Wikipedia was very detailed in that regard. Dictatorships seem to bring out the best in artists; as freedom, life in motion, and various other motifs representing the aforementioned themes are supposedly the focus all throughout. International albums from the list such as this one keep this challenge fresh, in my opinion at least.

Delightful. I feel like a slightly better person for having listened to this today.

Pleasant sounding tunes, a couple hummable, but only background music for me.

It's kinda fun music. No complaints, in particular.

An interesting album by an artist I've never heard of, making music in a language I don't speak, but also kind of a vibe. Nothing really struck me as particularly interesting or outstanding about the album sonically speaking, but it's also hard to judge a song with lyrics you can't understand. Probably won't revisit or recommend this to anybody, but I enjoyed it well enough.

what a wild ride!

A nice mix-up and great for travelling and chilling

A mix of different genres and I am pleasantly surprised that this isn't just another samba album - I had a distinct feeling that this book was claiming Brazil made no other types of music worth listening to. I'm told heavy themes are explored in this album with a recurring motif of a road. I'd like to be able to understand Portuguese as I'm sure it would add another dimension to an already interesting album. Did it need to be a double album? Probably not - however it is classed by some as the greatest Brazilian album ever made so what do I know? Best Tracks: Tudo O Que Voce Podia Ser; O Trem Azul; Um Girassol Da Cor Do Seu Cabelo

The Brazilian feels indeed. I honestly didn’t know of this music or ever listened to it… unless it was playing at Cafe Brazil in LA…that place was so delicious, god I hope it’s still there.

First-time listen. This is a good Sunday record, even though the songs all fade out way too soon. The psychedelic elements in this record are great, even though stuff from the 1970s that have sing-songy arrangements with lots of flutes typically give me hives. I'm surprised at how short the songs are given the style; I'd expect them to stretch out a little more. With each successive track, this record really grew on me. The Romani elements heard in the track Dos Cruces were particularly outstanding: sprawling with a great buildup. Gave me epic Brazilian flamenco gunslinger Morricone vibes (but again, cut too short with a unnecessary fade-out).

This was actually really chill. I liked it alot

6/10. Nice brasilian vibe. But Not my Cup of tea.

Favorite Track: O Trem Azul

kelpo tavaraa

It seems good, but I can't understand a word.

***A good easy listening album

Cool album nice

Great listen on a cool summer night outside enjoying a beer or whatever beverage you just sip on for a while.

I love the spirit of this album, even while I can’t understand a word. The majority of songs in the first 1/3rd-ish didn’t hit for me, but many of the songs later in the album were wonderful.

Ech fühle de Vibe vo dem albom no rächt. Trozdem esches ned e so mini musig ond es wär mer jetzt au kes speziells lied ufgfalle.

Wijs album! 3.4

I usually brace myself when I’m told something is Brazilian music. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed plenty of Brazilian musicians (e.g. Tim Maia, Os Mutantes, Seu Jorge, Jorge Ben), but they’re typically not what I’ve been taught to expect. I think what I typically don’t like is bossa nova or Brazilian jazz from middle of the last century. This, on the other hand, is a pleasant surprise. I find this incredibly pleasant to listen to. I can even hear guitar techniques that Paul Simon clearly aped. I don’t have a lot of analysis to give but I think this would be great dinner party music.

Nice album for a summer party

Really interesting compilation that encompasses different styles of music. I really enjoyed this but due to not speaking Portuguese it's hard for me to remember the standout tracks. I'm glad for this challenge for putting me into music like this record. 3.25/5

Really enjoyed this, cool stuff

I guess it was interesting? I wouldn't mind if I went to a bar and this was playing in the background

I enjoyed this. If I understood the words I'd enjoy it more; that's my issue. 3/5.

Not bad, but kinda plinky-folky.

Dreamy, but not captivating exactly. Some weird unnerving ones too, which is funky. Some rock, some orchestra, a bit of the psyche of the times.

This wasn’t bad. A cool blending a several different musical styles. But nothing about this really grabbed me or struck me as memorable.

This album is a vibe. It's consistently warm and pretty and emotionally charged. Just a great sounding record. At times it would pass by in a gentle acoustic blur and then boom a huge vocal melody would hit or a gorgeous string part would take the track in a completely different direction. The strings in general on this album were magical. It kinda felt like I was listening to a Brazilian folk Beatles and this was their white album. Some highlights: Tudo Que Você Podia Ser - super catchy guitar and vocal melodies O Trem Azul - huge chorus Cravo e Canela - a nice dance-y cut Um Girassol Da Cor De Seu Cabelo - that piano/guitar rave up outro rocks Clube da Esquina Nº 2 - beautiful instrumental cut, especially the strings Paisagem Da Janela - a very catchy pop song - I was singing along to that chorus and I have no idea what I was saying Um Gosto De Sol - 1st half: a nice piano ballad - 2nd half: beautiful cinematic strings Trem De Doido - that distorted guitar tone fuckin' rips - Just a great Psyche rock ballad Nada Será Como Antes - really fuckin' catchy My main criticism for the album is the language barrier... but that's my fault really. I feel like some of the more lowkey/less adventurous cuts would have hit harder if I understood the language. My other criticism is that like all double albums... it's a bit long. I think a few of the ballads/interlude tracks could be cut. I wish I spoke the language and I wish I had more time to listen to it but this damn challenge only gave me 24 hours. I feel with more listens i'll like it even more.

Was vibing pretty hard to this while playing the Oblivion Remaster last night. Was a trip. Even though I didn’t understand anything — the production and musicianship made this an enjoyable listen.

Interesting

Meh sounds like the 70s

Another album where I had no idea what they were saying, but still found lots of enjoyment from.

Easy listening.

Nice 70's folk rock. Only a few tracks really stood out though.

started vibey but swerved from that as it went on. ok

🎧I liked this, thought it was pretty good. Second half was a little more adventurous than the first.

- I cannot gauge this properly because I am so culturally separated from this music. That being said, there were a couple of moments that sounded like a grasp towards the Beatles more eastern moments (the "Nº 1" tracks) and I was delighted to see that that was in fact a major influence. - Like both tracks with "trem" (train) in the title. Not sure what that says about me.

We enjoyed this but it wasn't a huge standout.

So here’s the thing: I think this album is really neat… in parts. Milton Nascimento has a really beautiful voice and his partner isn’t too bad himself. One of the benefits of this project is that I probably would have never heard something like this on my own. Most of the songs are pretty good, too. Many of them are a treat despite not knowing a single word being spoken. But there’s one problem I have with it. Two words: double album. I don’t know why, but the 70’s had a thing for double albums. And most of the time, I don’t understand why there are as long as they are. They mostly meander on and I eventually lose interest at some point. Unfortunately, that’s kinda what happened to me on this album. By about pass the halfway point, my interest started to wane. And by the end, I get impatient and I just want the album to end. Unless the songs on a double album pretty much are all bangers, I will most likely stop giving an album my complete attention. And I really hate that it happened here. But it’s just too long and not every song connected. I feel that individually, the album is a lot stronger. But as a whole package, it’s too much for me. The pleasant charm of the album is pretty much its saving grace. Favorite track: Paisagem Da Janela Other hits: O Trem Azul, Tudo Que Você Podia Ser, Cais, San Vicente

Interesting mixture and blends of music.

enjoyable and fresg record, like the combinations of acoustic sounds. Overall a fun record. Favorite track: Trem de Diodo. Overall score: 6.8/10

I wanted to give this four stars, but I couldn’t.

I kind of groaned when I saw this was a non-English record, but I found this mostly enjoyable and pleasant to listen to, if not a bit weird at times. I also think that it has held up pretty well, and didn’t really sound dated which surprised me. It would have been nice to have understood the lyrics, but I still enjoyed it. I was also kind of intrigued by the album cover photo, for whatever reason. Anyway, I probably won’t purposely listen to this again, but I give it 3 stars.

First listen.

Hyggeligt og til tider smukt. Fin baggrundsmusik

Not my bag, but makes for great Muzak whilst I bang out my spreadsheets

Fine to an extent Enjoyable in the background

Nice easy listening music. Unfortunately I couldn’t understand the language which made it harder to relate too.

Some good songs on here but quite a few descended into background music.

Great voice. Not really my thing though

It's always good that a non-English langauge album turns up on this list. Unfortunately, this album is a little too long and not of a style that really grabs me - essentially not to my taste, and nor do I clearly see how it fits into influencing music - though I guess it may have been highly influential in Brazilian music.

Couldn't understand the words but I understood the music. I also understood the music got a bit bland after awhile.

Best Brazilian album so far imo. There were some songs I really like, and some others not that much.

Some tracks were really beautiful, while at other times I found myself so bored that I wanted the album to end.

Enjoyable but probably won't be back. Preferred lo borges stuff on the album so may investigate him further

Mayby it was important album for Brasil but not for me. I was going for 3 but I will give it 2 for stealing spot from someone better. Spotify played much better songs (including his own) after this album. And after some more thinking I will bump it back to 3. There shouldn't be punishment for creating music in non-English speaking country.

Some of the music is interesting. I especially liked when some of the songs were in different time signatures, like 5/4. Overall it didn't move me much, but it definitely sounded ahead of its time. Fun fact: According to Google Translate, Trem De Doido is Crazy Train in Portuguese! Liked Songs Added: Lilia Trem De Doido

Pretty long album and although I enjoyed, it definitely dragged on a bit.

Something I hadn’t heard before. Unique.

Gut, Portugiesisch, kann man. Sich wieder anhören

Can’t say I felt strongly either way about it.

Fint, kunne ønske eg skjønte tekstane. Koselig og varmt, men også kult.

I enjoy some Brazilian music and familiar with some artists but I w wasn’t familiar with the artist or album. Enjoyed some tracks.

I wanted to like this more than I did. It has its moments, but just didn’t capture my interest in the way I thought it may do. Even with the +1 for non-English language I habitually add, this only scrapes into mediocrity.

Brazilian Psychedelic Pop Folk from the early 1970s. Considered to be the best Brazilian album of all time, but I don't think it's anything special. Quite pleasant, harmlessly fades into the background.

Was tempted to complain about most of the songs sounding the same… pleasantly surprised at the changes in tempo, keeping me engaged.

Lots of different genres on Clube Da Esquina. The psych-rock ones were my favorite.

not bad

Interesting. Enjoyed this, not blowing me away but it was nice enough.

it's ok.

vibey, psychedelic - Enjoyed the first half of the album more than the second half

Nice listen. 3.5

very yes

an enjoyable listen but idk if i'd ever revisit it. some cool sounds in there towards the end. 2.5

fine enough but I don't think I'll be looking up more of it, 2.5

Not my favourite album ever but had some awesome beats and rhythms. Easy to listen too, nothing really stood out on first listen, but will listen again.

Knowing this was so inspired by the Beattles and how it came about boosted my rating.

Ég hafði aldrei heyrt um þennan brasilíska tónlistarmann áður þrátt fyrir að hafa skoðað senuna örlítið. Mér fannst hún hugljúf og góð þessi plata og myndi líklegast setja hana aftur á fóninn ef ég myndi eiga auðveldara með að muna eftir Milton Eitthvaðeftirnafn

A very interesting listen indeed. Some very lovely tunes and singing. Not understanding the language should not be a barrier to enjoying good music and that is certainly the case here. This album is exactly why I signed up for this as I would never have come across it otherwise.

Innovative Brazilian music, nice album, worth a listen

Very chill and relaxing vibes. Not anything I was likely to come across on my own, or remember necessarily going forward, but I enjoyed the time we had.

Pleasant but not spectacular

Enjoyable, a very leisurely listen. Not gravitating towards future listening however.

Starts super strong but i got a bit lost in the later tracks. Decent though.

Brazilian music - fairly simplistic tunes, lovely singing tonality

Good sound. Would rate it a little higher if I knew what they were singing about.

Brazilian MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). Apparently MPB is traditional Brazilian music (Samba,baiao...) mixed with foreign influences like jazz and rock. It's unique and quite interesting. Favourite songs: Trem De Doido, Paisagem Da Janela, O Trem Azul, Cravo E Canela, Um Girassol Da Cor Do Seu Cabelo, San Vicente Least favourite songs: Cais, Pelo Amor De Deus, Ao Que Vai Nascer 3/5

Super fun!

This was another album that could be classified under World Music (South America I believe). Besides not understand the lyrics this was also very enjoyable. Even with its 21 run time there was no points I was wishing it be over. Standout Track is the title track. It is beyond beautiful and will be the song I came back to over and over 3.5/5

An amazing album. Would need more listens before I could award it four stars, but I could imagine it growing on me. My favourite tracks after two listens are the opener, Tudo O Qué Voce and San Vicente. Clube da Esquina nº 2 is pretty good too, and I swear I've heard it somewhere else.

Chill, maybe too long

Very nice - different than a lot of the LA music I've been exposed to.

Well crafted but nothing stood out to me. maybe because of the language barrier. But it's really nice to have in the background and i really like the nylon stringed guitar.

Chill and pretty.

This was a really pretty album, nice Sunday morning listening.

I really enjoyed this album, despite not having a clue what was being said. Very cool, light psychedelia and jazz. A lot to like. This may become 4 stars with future listens 3.5/5

No idea what the lads banging on about but enjoyable sound throughout. Too long

Certainly didnt expect to find "important" Brazillian albums but there you go. Bit tedious? Not my thing at all

Catchy, and toe-tappingly enjoyable.

fair enough if you like Brazilian music, not really my taste though

i marked this as “never heard of” but i actually do recognize the album artwork because it always gets included in those charts people make of their favorite records of all time lol. anyway i liked it, i don’t really have any strong feelings about it but i enjoyed listening to it. i would be happy listening to this while #chilling with my #friends.

Clube Da Esquina is another album that does unique things that i do like but is kinda forgettable. The songs here could sound absolutely beautiful sometimes and are good for just relaxing down at the beach on a hot summer day or night. The Portuguese singing while not mind-blowing or anything, fit the songs pretty well. This album is a long one with quite a lot of songs which unfortunately, made some of them blend together (mostly when it comes to the shorter ones). Despite all that, This album is still a good one that is just perfect relaxation music. Best Song: Trem De Doido Worst Song: Dos Cruces

It was nice, a little bit Nick Drake but obvs with a Hispanic main element.

Groovy but not for me 2.5/5

It was pleasant.

An amazing window into 50 years ago Brazil. It's not often this kind of world music is accessible so it's great to learn about it through the project. Not something I'd look to put back on frequently, but excellent for summer with some uniquely catchy beats

Clube da Esquina is a vibrant album. It goes in a lot of different directions, from chill to soothing to soaring. For being a Brazilian album, there were lots of sounds unique to my ears, but sometimes it sounded so American. I enjoyed hearing that fusion! With the limited amount of non-American or -British albums on this list, Clube was a good choice to get our feet wet.

This album was a delight! There was a lot of Latin flair here that felt familiar and that I welcomed. There also were dabblings of other genres that I was familiar with, like jazz, exotica, psychedelia, folk, and more. And yet, there was still an exciting unfamiliarity here -- like something interesting and foreign that you didn't know existed. This album manages to fit a LOT of that in, with various sounds and experiences. This was an incredibly atmospheric album that kept me intrigued!

Was pretty nice for a listen. Will I listen to again: 2%

Tudo Que Voce Podia Ser 3.3 Cais 3 O Trem Azul 3.4 Saídas e Bandeiras Nº 1 3 Nuvem Cigana 3.2 Cravo e Canela 3.1 Dos Cruces 3.4 Um Girassol Da Cor De Seu Cabelo 3.5 San Vicente 3.1 Estrelas 3 Clube da Esquina 3.2 Paisagem Da Janela 3.1 Me Deixa Em Paz 3.2 Os Povos 3 Saídas e Bandeiras Nº 2 3.4 Um Gosto De Sol 3.1 Pelo Amor De Deus 3.1 Lilia 3.3 Trem De Doido 3.4 Nada Será Como Antes 3.2 Ao Que Vai Nascer 3 Score: 3.19047619

This is good and intricate, I think I need more time with it as it could be a 4 eventually.

Some nice songs to start the day

A nice listen even though I do not understand an iota of Portuguese. I do appreciate world music, the different sounds, instruments, harmonies and melodies. A nice break from so much Brit Pop on this list

I enjoyed it. 3

Pretty cool mix from Brazil

A great opening track and a bunch of other good ones mixed in there

Pleasant and relaxing but it really starts to drag. 3/5

2.5 not in my line

A fun background listen.

This was a pleasant surprise, sounds way ahead of it's time.

Fav: Trem De Doido Least Fav: Saídas E Bandeiras No 2

Me faltaron 3 temitas.

Beguiling, engaging, alien and exotic, but lacking just a bit of light and shade I don't know enough about the genre(s) to fully appreciate it. It almost deserves a fourth star, but it didn't capture me enough - maybe even just a sunnier day here in Scotland would have tipped it into the next bracket! I certainly plan to listen to more music from outside of the UK and US - once I am free from the self-imposed restrictions of this project!

Good music. Album-wise it's a little long. Can't comment on the lyrical content and I'm not just going to add stars because it's a foreign language.

Nice album, good vibes, but lyrics I can't understand is difficult.

I like it a lot. Reminded me somewhat of MinasCumPraia, which was portuguese music that I did already know, as opposed to this album. favorite tracks: some of the album is quite calm, mellow music. I liked the more upbeat songs the best, like "Nada Será Como Antes", "Saídas E Bandeiras", "Tudo O Que Voce Podia Ser" album cover: interesting to read that actually, the photo does not depict the two main artists as kids. The kids were however identified around the album's 40th anniversary... cool

i always have a good time when i listen to foreign language music. and this one was a fun one as well.

Not too shabby

nice easy sound

Laid back album. Cool vocal harmonies. Can definitely see the Beatles Influences. Variety of genres. But it kinda bores after a while.

This is pleasant, dreamy Brazilian pop - might throw this on for coffee on the deck on a weekend morning vibes.

There were a few songs I’ll listen to regularly and the rest were still nice if not a little bland and hard to tell apart form each other. But this cohesion makes for an easy listen which is usually hard to say for double albums. Awesome cover art too. Rating: 3.5

I didn't realize I forgot to rate this. I can't really remember this album very well. I think it was pleasant and a nice change of pace from classic rock from what I remember! Three stars because I don't remember liking or disliking it.

Beautiful but I dont want this much

beautiful music. didnt understand the lyrics but it was a pleasant vibey listen

What an eclectic album! I thought I was in for some chill jazzy relaxation, but then there were all sorts of different offerings along the way. An interesting experience, for sure!

It was OK but I was kinda waiting for the album to end after a while.

Some good ones actually

6 / 10 Música Brasileña. Difícil de definir, pero con mucha calidad. Sonidos sorprendentes para el año 72.

As this is not my first language I really only have the ability to comment on the melodies and musical execution. Overall I enjoyed the album and the changes that tied back to a cohesive sound. I was a little disoriented by the manipulation of stereo sound at times and that isolation took me out of the listening experience more than once.

Some nice chords and tones in there, but I don't understand the lyrics at all. It could be comfy listening on some caribbean island bar with a nice drink.

It's fine. Some great guitar work and melodies. Without the lyrics being accessible to me, it's much harder on my part to truly engage and assess. One ill probably come back to in a quiet space and time.

A bit nondescript but I enjoyed it.

lite för långt och lite tråkigt emellanåt

Although I don't understand the language I did enjoy the music style. I liked the song Dos Cruces the most.

I’m sure it’s fine. I couldn’t get through it

A kind of smooth and melodic album. Easy listener without being great in any way to suck me in deeper.

I liked numerous tracks. I thought many were a little slow, or dated. It was also quite long. That said, I always enjoy Brazilian progressions and so I liked that aspect.

not got loads to say about this one except that trem de doido went extremely hard

Ok. Relaxing

Some soothing latin with a couple standout songs, but ultimately I just couldn't connect with it and was uninterested by the end

Interesting hearing past pop trends in Brazilian

Nice sound. Didn’t understand a whole lot, but it was good background music

Haven’t listener

Unique.

Correcto pero no me entusiasma. 3/5.

3.8 really good calm and shitp

Some kind of Spanish album. Quite a nice vibe. 3 so far.

Alright I guess. Pleasant in the background, just not really my jam. Call it 3.5

Milton Nascimento is a new artist for me. I like how the recommendations from this list give me a chance to hear music from other countries that I wouldn't come across on my own. Clube Da Esquina was new music for me, but even thos Nascimento is from Brazil I could hear a 70s sound - there was something in the music that seemed to have it's origins in the clutural transformation out from the hippie era. The music sounded like it came from the same era as "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". The mellow nature of most of the music allowed me to listen at a more superficial level. I didn't find any new tracks that add to my personal favorites, but there weren't any tracks that I disliked either.

Long ass Brazilian banger. Gets ya moving

Yeah, I love anything Brazilian or Brazilian-influenced.

It's alright. Really don't have anything else to put here.

Wasn’t my jam.

This was musically pleasant. He's (they're?) good at singing and kept me interested in each sound/song. It has a relaxing mood, but I think not being able to understand it in the slightest takes a point away for me.

Interesting. I enjoyed most of it.

This was a very nice album. Despite the fact that I didn't understand the lyrics, the singers' voices were melodic; it was pleasant to listen to them. I enjoyed the instrumentals as well. This is not an album I would've chosen, but I enjoyed it very much.

Feel like it could have been a few tracks shorter and tightened up a bit, but some really great moments.

It was fine. Some nice jazzy bits but nothing particularly engaging.

I always struggle with how to approach albums like this. I've never heard of this album or artist before, and I'm not very familiar with world music, so I don't really have much of a frame of reference. This album was fine to listen to though. The musical arrangements and singing sounded good together, but that's about all I have for notes. Once again, I'm giving a jazz and/or world music album a solid three stars. Once I'm done with this list, I'm going to go back through all of the world music albums again, so that I can have a better appreciation and understanding of them.

Latino salsa Brazilian kinda vibes.

Quite fun, I should listen to more non English music, I did get a bit bored tho

2.6/5 interesting and cool to hear some Brazilian music, but not something I would come back to

Zomers, maar had het iets traditioneler verwacht

It's cool I guess, too chill for 5am

this seems cool, but it doesn’t really light my fire

Very good vibes and I want to like it. Sorry to say it doesn’t really stick as a whole. 3.4

I don't know how to rate this. It could be that it's a summer album and I'm listening to it during snowfall, but this wasn't the vibe for today. But it was well arranged and played. I can't speak for the lyrics, but, I assume it is beautiful/meaningful.

noh brasilia yksi niistä maista jotka lasketaan ''world''' mukaan. 0 indonesia albumia. GTA 6 SPOILERS Each missions begins by driving to a marker on the map You watch a cut-scene, then you get to go to another marker on the map When you get to the other marker, you shoot some bad guys, then drive to another marker to watch a cut-scene Repeat um gosto de sol

Some of it I really loved, other bits less interesting.

Light folk, nice to listen, nothing much to say

Reminded me of 1980s music in my country

Música bien brasilera. Me gustó bastante eh.

I liked Cravo E Canela, it had some fun movement to it, I also liked the tail end of Um Girassol Da Cor Do Seu Cabelo. The entire album is very consistent so if its what you like, you should like most of these songs.

A good recommendation, something different. I enjoyed the brazillian feel, and the experimentation in some tracks. Exposure to albums like this, which i wouldn't have come across otherwise, is why I am involved in this project.

There is some really interesting music on this album, at times latin Meddle-era Pink Floyd and others revolver era Beatles. Few tracks I didn't care for but over all this was good. 3.5

sounds good. all in brazilian, so I have no idea what they're talking about. sounds like: the beatles, love, the zombies, etc.

It's a mellow, Portuguese-language album. At times it is reminiscent of the Beatles' Sgt. Peppers era, except, you know, in Portuguese. It's a decent album.

A nice fun listen. Wasn't familiar at all with Milton - or with Brazilian music altogether. But very happy I "discovered" this. Lots of songs were the perfect vibe without a lick of English. Made me feel like I was on vacation in my office.

Meh, listened while we carved pumpkins. It was just OK

This stuff is pretty catchy. The songs are in Spanish so I did not know what he is singing about but it was pretty good pop music. Easy to enjoy.

Leuke ontdekking.

Mijn tweede zoon is nu 4 dagen oud. Teo valt in.

Ranked #7 as most important brazilian album. Sort of seventies/psychedelic/latin feel. double album. 3.6

Excellent voice & guitar work. Mostly good American pop with some Latino music/flavour mixed in. Lyrics are not English, but it does not take away from the experience. Mid 3

Far from being one of my favorite MPB records (and artists), still was a nice listen.

Had it's charms, but overly long

I'll admit I skimmed through a bit cuz this style isn't quite my cup of tea but Club De Esquina No. 2 was awesome. I will probably sit down and give this album a better listen when I'm not running errands.

Happy to have an international album! A lot of great music, but in the end it's something I wouldn't listen to regularly.

This was nice background music.

Interesting listen 3

First song was 5 star worthy. The hour long runtime mixed with me not understanding a single lyric makes it a brutal trek otherwise. I’ll assume it was fine
