Reviews (page 14 of 15)

An attempt has been made to write and play something melodic but with little success.

For me, Radiohead started to disappear up their own arse around OK Computer. I was 14 or 15 when The Bends came out and it was an instant classic. That’s what I want to hear when I think of Radiohead. I appreciate they want to evolve but this is so far removed from what made them great in the early 90s. Johnny Greenwood is such an explosive talent on guitar but he’s absolutely neutered on In Rainbows. The songs are predominantly boring. I genuinely think people give this 5/5 because they want to look cool in front of their peers and don’t have the bollocks to say “actually, I think In Rainbows is a banal dirge of cat spunk.” I liked House of Cards and Jigsaw Falling Into Place but wouldn’t care a jot if they never fell into my crosshairs again. 2 out of 5 but would possibly rise to 3 out of 5 if I could be bothered putting myself through listening to it again.

Listening to this I'm not hearing a great era-defining album from a supposedly generational group. I hear an average 2000's alternative album. I may need someone to hold my hand and explain Radiohead to me once I'm done with this list.

1. Thom Yorke's voice is often uninteresting (too whiny, too one-dimensional, idk?). Lol Wikipedia tells me he's noted for his wide vocal range. Someone tell me where to find it on In Rainbows please. There's a lot of flat normal register singing, a lot more of falsetto one note kind of stuff, and occasionally shouting one or two steady notes. This has summed up all of my Thom Yorke singing knowledge. 2. I don't care for the very ethereal sounding stuff they go on about. 3. Radiohead proponents are especially pretentious about the impact of the band. I think they have contributed interesting ideas and concepts to the larger music community (this album being released as a pay-what-you-want download was a neat statement on the industry's stance on piracy at the time). I don't mind Radiohead, I really like _some_ of their stuff, but the rabidity of their fans to defend everything they do when it feels like a LOT of it is samey over their work probably also turns me off from them.

I really don't get Radiohead. I thought this album was really boring, found myself not listening on nearly every song. Nice melodies and bits here and there, but wouldn't choose to come back.

Pretty miserable sound really

I just can’t get into Thom York’s voice, it feels like a theremin. Quavering. Makes me feel itchy inside. The craft is acknowledged, not my thing.

album #89 how would i describe this album? throughout the album, you think you're going to get something new and thom yorke just gives you the same song in a different font. it's like if you were at a restaurant and kept sending back your steak only to be given the same steak back but with a leaf garnish on top. i wanted to like it, but it's simply too uninspired and dull. the latter half of the album makes for good background music, but that's about it. ꩜ average track rating: 2.4/5 ꩜ favourite track(s): weird fishes / arpeggi ꩜ least favourite track(s): all i need, house of cards ꩜ album rating: ★★☆☆☆ ꩜ number of albums left to review: 1,000 (!!) ꩜ number of albums from the list that i agree with being on the list: 42 ꩜ albums from the list that I would consider on my list: 18 ꩜ albums from the list I won't include on my list: 71

ugh......another Radiohead album.....not as bad a some of the other ones, but still, i cant listen to it.

Was semi looking forward to listening to them. I heard some good thing and some bad things. I was a little disappointed. All the tracks sounded similar but gloomy. Hard to get into.

Meh. Mellow, mumbling, experimental instrument choices towards the end. Maybe one good song, House of Cards.

Man oh man Radiohead are boring

Aside from OK Computer and a couple tracks, I'm never going to get into post OK Computer Radiohead. It's just not for me.

"Jigsaw...." was pretty decent. But really this is music by a guy who can sings, and liked by people who can't hear.

Wasn’t for me, but I could see fans of the band enjoying it. It was hard to understand the words and frankly, wasn’t my kind of music.

ok, the third Radiohead album in less than 60 albums suggested. I am seeing a bit of a slant in the opinion of who put this together. :) Another lackluster effort from Radiohead. Starting to think they had a peak and then are just bilking their fans for as much money as possible. Not worth having so many albums on this list for sure.

Much of the Prog Rock crowd would call themselves Radiohead fans - not me, I can't get into them at all. This, their seventh album, is equally as unappealing as the previous six. bland, monotonous and miserable. Not quite one star level, I'll give it a two.

lo escuche medio por arriba. No me atrajo tanto, quizas lo tendria que escuchar con mas atencion. Lo comparé en mi cabeza con The Bends quizás...

Radiohead is an arduous band to listen to for me. I recognize the talent but I don’t find it pleasant and the sound just grates for me. This is probably my favorite of their albums but still not something I would ever choose to listen to.

Radiohead’s In Rainbows is a polarizing listen that struggles to find a consistent rhythm, alternating between moments of genuine beauty and alienating experimentation. While the album offers a few high-energy highlights like the hypnotic finish of "Bodysnatchers" and the infectious, driving groove of "Jigsaw Falling Into Place," these peaks are often undercut by technical distractions and pacing issues. The production frequently feels surprisingly muddy, and for every standout bridge or lush string arrangement, there is a track that either feels like filler or drifts into sleepy, ambient territory. Ultimately, despite a handful of tracks that successfully capture a vibe, the record’s disjointed structure and odd sonic choices make it a difficult experience to fully embrace.

i don't get why radiohead is such a big thing. i guess i can listen to this, but i don't see what's special about it

my reaction to a Radiohead album popping up "oh... ok...." this was boring. not bad per se but not for me!

The Bends and OK Computer were so fucking good it took me a couple decades before I realized I don't actually like Radiohead. I know there is another album I quite enjoyed, but this was not it. I might even prefer Pablo Honey to probably everything from Kid A on.

I fully acknowledge that I am missing something about Radiohead. I know. I am willing to learn. But I just am not getting it.

Album #265 for me, and it's already my fourth Radiohead. Even though this one is markedly different from Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, I still don't get the appeal of Thom Yorke and co. At least this one isn't as depressing and off-putting as those. I didn't enjoy much about this one, though. Jigsaw Falling Into Place might have been a highlight for me, and House of Cards wasn't bad.

Not my thing

The songs are not interesting. What’s more, I think the song writing is just fine. Listening to this felt like waiting 45 minutes for something to happen and it never does.

2 dynamic tracks and then it drifts into that floaty, teary, borderline monotonous zone : exactly the side of the band that pushed me away after Kid A. Thom Yorke gets pretty close to unbearable for me here. Still, it’s listenable. A few genuinely inspired moments pop up, but overall it feels more like background music, something to throw on while working.

This album is so incredibly boring, it'd not even funny. Literally nothing about the music was interesting in the slightest. I doesn't sound bad at all, but I definitely don't want to listen to this album again.

Number: 111 Date: 04/23/2026 Artist: Radiohead Album: In Rainbows Year: 2007 Genre: Indie Rock Familiarity: Well-versed (4) Rating: Before: ======= OMG, another Radiohead album. I just had OK Computer 2 days ago. Maybe I'll just copy and paste pretty much everything I already said, and update as needed. Whatever. I'll try to keep an open mind but, I will start off by saying I'm not much of a fan. I mean they are OK, but that's it. Just OK. I've skimmed through most of this album before and have skimmed through pretty much all of their albums and cannot figure out why people like them so much. Anyways, just so you have an idea of where my head is at, some of my all time favorite music artist are The Fall, Stereolab, and Pixies. I don't actually listen to them that much anymore but used to listen to them a lot. Some of my favorite contemporary artists are Hovvdy, Water From Your Eyes, and Angel Olsen. During: ======= The main thing I can't get past with Radiohead is the whining but 2 songs in and so far this one is not near as whiney as OK Computer, which I endured just 2 days ago. Woops, spoke to soon, now at track 3 and the whining is back, in a big way. So to pass the time and just for kicks, let's see if any of my top 10 albums from 2007 are on The List. Here they are listed in order from 1 - 10. The Raveonettes "Lust Lust Lust" New Buffalo "Somewhere, Anywhere" Richard Hawley "Lady's Bridge" The Besnard Lakes "The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse" Band of Horses "Cease To Begin" Dan Deacon "Spiderman Of The Rings" Black Moth Super Rainbow "Dandelion Gum" The Fiery Furnaces "Widow City" Deerhoof "Friend Opportunity" Arcade Fire "Neon Bible" So my 10th favorite album did make it on The List but that's it. Richard Hawley does have "Coles Corner", which is a differnt album released in 2005, and I do agree it is his best. None of the other eight artists are on the list at all. The fact that Dan Deacon's "Spiderman Of The Rings" didn't make it is a travesty. I highly recommend that one if you're in the mood for something truly original. 3 15 Step 2 Bodysnatchers 1 Nude 3 Weird Fishes/Arpeggi 3 All I Need 2 Faust Arp 2 Reckoner 2 House Of Cards 3 Jigsaw Falling Into Place 2 Videotape ----------------------------------------------------- 2.30 WEIGHTED AVERAGE (accounts for song lengths) After : ======= The only track I liked a little was 15 Step. The last 30 sec of Bodysnatchers was pretty good. I'm giving suitability a 1 since they have about 4 or 5 too many albums on The List. 2 my personal rating 1 suitability for this list 4 impact ----------------------------------------------- 2.3 composite rating

Ah yes, Tom Yorke at his whining worst. Now I get what people moan about. Let’s be honest, there was a time when Radiohead wrote songs instead of making music, and these kind of tracks worked well as fillers between those largely excellent songs. As a thematic collection of tracks however, it’s pretty dull, I would even go as far as to say “joyless”, as I genuinely find it difficult to enjoy this music. Being Radiohead does not necessitate making a good album. Here is the evidence laid bare.

Sounds like radiohead. Every song sounds the same so much that I didnt realize the album ended and started playing a different one.

Not more bloody wailing from Radiohead, I haven't got over the last one yet 🤦🏻‍♂️

I really want to like radiohead but every time I hear an album its just a little bit too slow for me

Why the hell are any other Radiohead albums on here when clearly this is their best work. I am a hater though so minus 1 star for every Radiohead album already listened to. Looking forward to Ok Computer and Pablo Honey!

Of course our first week back after two years off is FUCKING RADIO HEAD. I HATE TOM YORK AND HIS WHINY BITCH ASS MOANING MORE TODAY THAN EVER BEFORE I do think rainbows is the most tolerable of all the radio head albums, a few of these almost sound like songs even. That said, I saw another review that said “if you told me this was the same song 15 times in a row I’d believe you” and that really captures my stance on Radiohead. Also note that there are only 10 tracks, it just feels like 15

Niet mijn ding. Te traag, te saai.

Great few songs at the start but the rest are forgettable

Not to my taste

I know it’s cool to like Radiohead but I just don’t enjoy it.

Top Songs: Bodysnatchers Faust Arp

"duh, duh, duh, we're doing the fucking song, duh duh duh" No but the start of this did surprise me, I liked it. Then by the end it did just degenerate into normal whiny Radiohead for me

I enjoy a decent amount of Radiohead but just can't get into this one. Just too noisy and weirdly mixed. A couple songs are okay but just not my favorite.

I wasn't in the mood for this. Good Radiohead album but I've never been a huge Radiohead fan. I could tell that I would have liked this more under different circumstances, and its technically great, strong vocals, good tone, I like the variety of songs and the electronic components, but wrong album wrong time.

I like Radiohead a lot more than I did back when they first appeared. But I really hated them back then so now I like some of their tracks and tolerate a few others. As I listened I was thinking “I’d rather listen to Beck”. Nothing stands out on this album for me.

There's always been a slight Emperor's New Clothes attached to a lot of Radiohead's output. There's no doubt they did some bangers in the 90s and Kid A has aged a lot better than I thought it would at the time, but there seems to be some modern push to count them alongside the Beatles or something. Miserable whining and anguish abounds, this did very little for me. I quite liked 'Videotape' though.

Track 1 and 2. Were ok but a bit whiny Track 3 sucked Track 4 & 5was good but not great Track 6 and 7 are horrid 8. almost put me to sleep People find Track 9 good? What is 10 even about Overalls this album sucked Some good songs but not worth the popularity

Ook niet mijn muziek (sorry Merel)

I feel like people really like the final two songs and just ignore the rest during which a British guy whines into your ears, which is far from a novelty in the list. So I really couldn't be bothered to write a more in-depth review because the album is mostly boring. Best songs are Jigsaw Falling Into Place and Videotape but that doesn't help when the rest are so bland. 4/10, I don't see what others see.

liking thats the only reason it a 2 but the vision is there

I did not care for this

Not my jam

Boring and repetitive

Not another Radiohead album. It all just sounded the same and Yorke’s vocals sound awful. How did he sing Creep & then proceed to produce this stuff!

Could do with more hits ;-)

Such an overrated band. It’s the o.g. Coldplay.

Great “noise” when working otherwise not the “vibe” lyrics were too morally relative

OK Computer was a classic. There is nothing on this album that matches that.

These fuckers tricked me with the first track and had m thinking that these guys could make something else instead of the everyday depressing RH song.

Alright hot take, I dont like this album. I wish I could tell you why, I just don't. OK Computer is a fucking masterpiece, and this feels so much less for me where I find myself bored.

It's not bad, it's just boring and mid

Really don't understand the hype here. I've always been hesitant towards attempting Radiohead, outright avoiding them as long as possible, and clearly for the better because I completely bounced off this. Instrumentals are consistently engaging, but are drowned out by vocals that emulate the sounds of trying to stay awake on Ambien. Really disappointed.

7/10, objectively very good, liked some songs more than others but definitely changed my view on Radiohead. Liked it!

This album made me understand the Radiohead/Coldplay comparison. 2 stars because I believe there's better Radiohead and better Coldplay

Favorite tracks: Weird Fishes / Arpeggi Radiohead continues not to be the band for me. If I'm being honest, the few seconds of silence between tracks was like a sigh of relief. Between the whiny falsetto and the sheer amount of noise in every song, it just ends up being overwhelming and loud to me. However, I can't deny that they are doing what they set out to do - experimental, indeed.

Found this choice to be interesting although somewhat monotonous

song i went back to first after first full listen: radiohead no surprises music video (wanted to see if i could hold my breath that long too)

Dear Thom Yorke, A lot of us have noticed that, after the Bends, you stopped writing pretty melodies. A lot of us have also noticed that, and please don’t take this the wrong way, you’re a touch arrogant and standoffish, which suggests your afraid of something. With all respect, I have a theory! I think you may be afraid that you HAD to give up writing pretty melodies to convince people that you’re deep and sensitive, in a melancholy way. If that’s the case, Mr. Yorke, I’m here to help! I’ve created a short playlist to prove that a person can do it all – complex chord progression, melancholy atmosphere, AND gorgeous melody!! God Only Knows – the Beach Boys Paper Bag – Fiona Apple Happier Than Ever – Billie Eilish Fake Plastic Trees – SURPRISE! – Radiohead ( :D; I mean :/ ) Yesterday – The Beatles I Concentrate on You – (Frank's 1947 version is appropriately meloncholy) My Funny Valentine - Chet Baker Radiohead’s music is always interesting and the soundscapes are pretty (if a tad robotic). A lot of us think that if you’d just, you know, RELAX a little and stop avoiding melodies, you could bring back to your band’s music a little bit of emotion; a little bit of the soul that made the Bends pretty great. I know you can do it, Mr. Yorke. Sincerely, Justin Juan Musicstan

*2007. *Tried this one a couple times. It’s not for me. I don’t find it interesting, I don’t like his vocals, and I don’t remember a single song I listened to. *I can see why people like Radiohead, but there’s much better depressing, angsty stuff out there, in my opinion. RATING - 5.5/10

1. ztep - 1 2. body - 1.5 3. nude - 3 4. fizhez - 1.5 5. need - 2 6. arp - 1 7. reckon - 2 8. cardz - 1.5 9. jigzauu - 1 10. videotape - 1.5

Rad io H ead Idiots can't even type

So every Radiohead album has to be listened to before you die? I do like some of their songs but how am I getting more Radiohead, The Smiths, and Morissey…..heck I’ve even had two Dexey Midnight Runners albums and not more The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Prince????

dont understand why everybody loves it kinda the same all the time chill tho

Too many changes within a song for me.

5/10 - honestly I think I just don't get Radiohead, another album I found meh

i just dont get it

Another rather bland Radiohead album of Whitney forgettable nonsense. Still don’t get it.

I listened to this when it came out because of the price gimmick. I don't think I much liked it. Nowadays? It's not as bad as the last Radiohead album I got, but it's not great. The music has some moments of promise, but mostly falls flat for me. Don't like Thom Yorke's voice on most of it, a bland falsetto. Just not great.

I gave it my best shot man. These guys really not for me.

more turgid shite from the kings of turgid shite

The album starts well—and by “starts,” I really mean the first track. After that, it feels like Arcade Fire: too much noise, though with a bit more intention. Still, I can’t go beyond a 2-star rating.

Unpopular opinion. I’m not much of a Radiohead fan. This album actually had a couple of good tracks to start with and then it was the same, dreary music as I expect from Radiohead.

did you know that there's a female only Radiohead cover band called Labiahead - they only cover good Radiohead songs so zero from this fucking album Hail to the Queef!

Liked some… but kinda boring

Very final song in an episode of the OC. Chill and cool but not my thing.

Not my thing but a very cohesive sound

I like Radiohead and I’ve heard people say this is Thom Yorke’s best work… but I don’t get it. I find this to be so slow and boring compared to other works. I much prefer Kid A or OK Computer. Sowwy. Also reminds me of how Aphex Twin was told that Radiohead saw him as a huge influence and Aphex responded by saying Radiohead is only good if you don’t have taste lmao.

I felt very pretentious listening to this.

Everything Radiohead at this point comes across as pretentious to me. I realize that’s probably a me problem, but it is what it is. Even their good stuff, which I guess there is some of on here, isn’t something I want to listen to too much.

so so mid

I loved this album when I was 15, it’s been 18 years and it just doesn’t hit the way it did when I was a teenager in high school with a lot of angst. The album felt really disjointed and like each song didn’t accompany the next one. It didn’t feel cohesive at all.

The last song is excellent. There is good music here its just drowned out by the same mopey delivery time after time.

This was disappointing for me. First time listening to Radiohead and there was some highlights. "Jigsaw falling into place" was fantastic but I Just kept waiting for the album to hit. It felt like a lot of promise but no real end product.

I dread when Radiohead shows up on the list. This was no exception.

Didn't like it, mostly get what its doing. Sorry folks 2.5/5

- não ligo pra essa banda e esse álbum pra fazer um review decente - banda mediana, não entendo por que as pessoas vangloriam tanto

It has a couple of good songs, like Nude and Jigsaw Falling Into Place. I can see why from start to finish it's a well produced album with a good flow, but it's not for me.

I don’t get it it’s a little bit more interesting than Coldplay

Don't like it

Like I get that it’s Radiohead but it’s just so distilled and filtered. SO BORING

So boring. It all sounded the same.

I really tried to like this album when it was first released. Tried to listen with objective, fresh ears today. Still don’t like it.

I've never really gotten Radiohead. The first track of this album was awesome, and I was like "Wow, is this finally my Radiohead moment?" Turns out, the answer is no.

It's a mid album from an competent, but not super engaged Radiohead. This album is notable for the way it was released, but musically it plays it pretty safe. There's a nice amount of variation and the kind of moody, electronic tinged, art rock you expect from Radiohead at this point, but it's not super memorable and, hey, I think that might be intentional! I would describe the musical themes on this album as hazy, dreamlike contemplation as navigated through honey. Personally, I prefer Radiohead when the hypnotic sound gets juxtaposed with some heat. Love the cover, that's a 4/5.

Forgive me Radiohead fans—I just don't enjoy his voice. It doesn't inspire happiness for me. ★★

A very chill album. Radiohead always makes me depressed or sleepy and this album is no different. I was dozing off around weird fishes and had to force myself to listen to the rest of the album. I always like the noises Radiohead experiments with and this album is particularly experimental. I didn't save any to my playlist and probably won't listen to it again. 4/10

I think Radiohead are very winy sounding, thin. I get the new sound alt/rock push but not my cup of tea.

Bit stumped on this one. Always thought Radiohead were a huge wank and and I'm still getting that vibe listening to this album. But I can still appreciate some of the songs here.

I like some Radiohead albums, I don’t like this one

Not the best radio head album I've heard

I know a couple of their hits but have never listened to one of the records before. I liked Bodysnatchers and I understand the appeal but not a record I would listen to again.

The constant beat that sometimes was countered by a different melody created anxiety for me. Maybe another day when I'm being active it would be a more positive experience.

Ei lähde radioheadi.. Onhan niillä hyviä, mut..

Tylsää!⭐️⭐️

It’s as if the clangers dropped acid and recorded an LP. Worst album on here so far

Interesting enough with some solid instrumentation and orchestration on some songs but I agree with the comments about a lot of the songs being almost indistinguishable from one another and the whining nature of the singing. Not a huge fan but fine as background music.

Radiohead is just not a band for me. I don’t know why, but they just don’t hit with me. Their songs are just kind of boring and forgettable.

Not a fan of Radiohead, but bodysnatchers was a vibe

Some of these songs were actually pretty listenable until the vocals came in but I couldn't get through most. An instrumental version of this might get another star.

Imagine my disappointment after rating Kid A a 4

Really only know them from “Creep” which they hate & “Karma Police”. This album was just one big whiny shrill of whatever. 1.5 Star

Oh, good. Another record of Thom Yorke wailing over a backing track which people will tell me is seminal when deep down they all know it's shit.

pretty mid

Navel-gazing quaalude rock ain't my thing, even if it's Radiohead.

2 stars because my daughter like them and I knew a few songs, definitely not my jam.

Better than most Radiohead albums but still not great.

Band for the mentally ill and insufferable losers.

I thought I was going to hate this more than I did. I only mildly hated it. I managed to get all the way through it.

Bro, no thanks. Not for me.

Wow - more than 42M people listen to Coldplay on Spotify each month! Aside from today, I'm not one of them, and based on hearing this album, never will be

2 out of 5 I like Radiohead because I am a creep, but the majority of the songs on this later album were not so great.

The older I get, the more I feel like creating an album that makes you feel anxious (i.e. this) is easy, but creating an album that makes you feel good (i.e. 1984) is hard. But like with the movies, the existential dramas get the critical love. I'm good.

I don't know why, but this album doesn't really do it for me compared to other Radiohead works. It's too chill without ever building to a deeper emotional moment like the others do. It does build to a change in sound but it just lays on the harmonics at that point, but it didn't really make me feel anything.

Listening on a Tuesday morning. This one isn't landing with me very much. I really got into "Hail To The Thief" but I'm just not feeling this one. A little too samey tempos makes the songs all kind of blend into one long Thom Yorke moan. A little goes a long way. This one might work for me if I'm in the right mood but I doubt I'll give it another chance. Too many other things to check out.

I can't believe I was served two Radiohead albums in a row. That is unfair. My feelings have not changed in the few hours since I finished Hail To the Thief. I just don't get the fuss unfortunately. By the last few tracks I was just waiting for it to end.

This was a good album.

another turd that I definitely didn't need to hear before I die

Radiohead can’t convince me to like them

i understand why people like radiohead, but its not for me dawg.

Not my vibe

Non ya pas à dire, Radiohead, c'est juste chiant.

Decent background music, but not really in my Q zone

Surprisingly slow and boring

Largely boring.

I really wanted to like this album, but I just couldn't. Several of the songs sound "samey", and not much stuck out. I haven't listened to a lot of Radiohead in my life, and this was a disappointing introduction in my opinion. Top Tracks: Jigsaw Falling into Place, Bodysnatchers

Where to start...I thought I liked all types of music, I lied to myself. This album was not my cup of tea, it gave me Silence of the Lambs, creepy guy trying on skin suits in a basement while listening to this album vibe. No matter how fast I ran I could not escape! Of course I was on a treadmill so that would be why. Why did I think I liked Radiohead? Because of ONE song, Creep (that why I did not do 1 star) and actually the covers of Creep are better. Hope this was not to harsh and apologies to the Radioheads out there.

Okay but nothing special.

Can’t get into it

Never been much of a fan

Started out really strong with 15 Steps and Bodysnatchers, then it was back to Radiohead's regularly scheduled programming; slow, haunting, boring, artsy alt rock.

Some interesting sounds capes but one song temded to blend into another. Not really a fan of the falsetto singing either.

Okok I didn’t listened as intently to this one so maybe it’s better than I think but I wasn’t too impressed.

Literally what is this

I knew my annual attempt at trying to understand the appeal of Radiohead was coming up! Turns out... I still don't get it. I listen to so much music! So many genres and eras! I try every so often to figure this out because they are so damned revered but I just do. Not. Get. It. There's like on medium tempo song on this thing and the rest of the tracks just feel like they're drowning. And Thom Yorke sings like he's half heartedly trying to haunt me and failing. It's warbly ghost music and I can't make myself care about it.

Hmmm...

This album is where Radiohead lost me completely. It's just too experimental and cerebral for my tastes. A collection of complexly arranged noise. That said, Bodysnatcher is alright.

I’m going to be fair here and measure this not independently, but against how utterly wank the other Radiohead albums I’ve had to listen to are: this is not entirely shit. Please god never make me have to listen to them again, though. 1.5 to be generous and pray they don’t come up again.

I can't really say anything positive about the discography. When I listen to a sole song, I enjoy it, but listening to the whole album makes me want to go sleep.

OK Computer I really liked and listened to a lot, I think I have Pablo Honey and maybe The Bends in my CD collection aswell, which I got into after OK Computer. In Rainbows is too minimal to my taste, sort of stripped down version of the band I liked. They've also added a lot of ambient dissonance and chaos to the background, which sometimes feels out of place to me. I don't mind the album, but for me it's a weird mix of music, something I'd have on in the background and not actively listen.

Very Radiohead

Some of it was okay but most of the songs on this album are slow, boring and don’t seem to go anywhere.

Sounds anxious or antsy and yet repetitive.

Not my vibe.

Their seventh album. Indie Rock / Electronica. A bit experimental, well mixed. Less political than previous albums and more personal. Bodysnatchers is a good track. This is a solid album but I prefer OK Computer and The Bends. For me this one keeps promising you a great time but somehow keeps falling short. Still, an average Radiohead album is better than most.

A real snoozefest. I give credit for good execution and production but this is glorified background music.

In order to be one of my 1001 albums, the album has to have something more, something extra, something special. This is a fine Radiohead album. But that's all. It's not their first, best, or most influential. It's just a fine album. Meh.

Started off strong then just became the radiohead sterotype for me- worth a re listen maybe?

I really don't like Radiohead it seems. I did like some of their hits, but this album left me bored. There were a couple of times I found my headbobbing to the music, but I have no want to return to it. In fact I remember listening to this album when it first came out during the pay what you want days, and I was glad I hadn't paid anything for it.

I really struggle with this band, but a lot of it comes from the band reminding me of someone I hate - Radiohead seems to attract the pretentious music types. So when I hear them the bias emerges. That being said I did like some of the songs, but others just seemed to rely on the falsetto vocals and syncopated beats without being interesting or discernible from the other songs that did that. But what do I know! I love power chords and sub 2 minute songs

Eh too whiney

Not for me but not bad, very whiny sound

Meh, not much melody, though not unpleasant

I’ve said before, I dislike Radiohead quite a lot. I find their music incredibly dull and the vocals very whiny, and it’s not just that I dislike the music, it also does piss me off lightly that they are so beloved. (Obviously this is an exaggeration, I dislike them but I obviously don’t care that people do, it’s an exaggeration please). This album didn’t change that, while certainly better than the last one I listened to for this challenge (Amnesiac), “Reckoner” in particular was a pretty song, but I just found most of the instrumentation dull and the vocals again were not something I enjoyed, but it’s not awful. I’m around a 2/5 it’s not something I like, or will likely listen to again anytime soon, but it’s not like terrible or anything I just fail to see the appeal.

Obviously talented, but navel gazing is still navel gazing.

standard radiohead album, delivered exactly what I expected, slow pace, drawn out lyrics, I find it tough to take a full album of it, although individually I can hear some really good songs

Radiohead doing Radiohead …unfortunately. I’m giving it 2 stars but only because I liked track 2.

Day522 - no need for anymore radiohead albim. i’ve had enough

Mediocre

Not quite as crap as the rest

Radiohead just isn't for me. Sounds great though. Just sounds like radiohead.

A bit slow. I didn't enjoy on the first listen. Like many of theirs, I will push through and may end up enjoying more in a future listen.

This English band has been together for quite awhile (since 1985), and this is their seventh album. It seems to me that Radiohead always has had a sort of cult following, although I never recall hearing their tunes on the top 40 radio. For me this album had a couple of decent tracks, but mostly forgettable. Sorry for you, Radiohead.

Tynn suppe. Finnes bedre RH-album.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Radiohead. Definitely struggled with this one. Highlights for me were, ‘Body snatches’ and that was it. Don’t think I’d listen to it again

In standard Radiohead fashion, I found this album to have some good parts but mostly too moody and repetitive for me. Overall- 2.5/5

Thom Yorke vocals are horrible

Inoffensive, but nothing actually happens.

This album confirms I am just not a fan of Radiohead. Great production quality, audio mixing and mastering is fantastic. I just don't care for the vocals / lyrics.

Every song sounded very similar, nothing really gripped me. Enjoyed the bass line in a few of the tracks.

Not my taste of music, little bit slow for my liking but can understand why Radiohead are one of the greatest

Ik heb het al vele keren geprobeerd, maar ik ben geen fan van de rustigere Radiohead nummers, zoals deze. The Bends bijvoorbeeld vind ik dan wel weer super. Sorry Radiohead fans. 2.4

The music was okay. It’s just that Thom Yorke’s vocals are not powerful enough for the music being played.

I use to tell people: "I am a Radiohead fan." However, I am actually not a Radiohead fan. I am an "OK Computer" fan. "In Rainbows" sounds exactly like how wet toast tastes.

Okay album. I liked it better than “Kid A”.

Bit dreary, fairly forgettable

uhh didn't really paid much attention to it

Slightly less bad than I remembered

Eka biisi alkaa vallan vauhdilla, mikä oli ilahduttavaa. Sitten levy on taas tuttua tunnelmointia. Se lähinnä nukuttaa. Vikassa biisissä on sentään koukkuna kiva rumpukone.

Oh goodie.....another Radiohead album. FUCKING BBBBBOOOOOOOORRRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG. Not only that , I really went for the pain and listened to the Flaming Lips and Radiohead back to back. One album from each would be fine for this list. No more. Author is clearly a fan boi of shitty indy/brit pop.

this was not for me felt like a concept album that lacked direction and ended up feeling like just noise than anything else.

Radiohead needs to be a little less depressing - not a good album for my mental health today. Also, I kind of miss the older Radiohead.

I remember when this album came out and everyone was buzzing about the "pay what you want" thing. I don't love Radiohead, their songs all sound the same to me. It's a fine sound when it's on, but it's not one I ever find myself actively seeking out. Honestly, it's a 2.5. I don't know which way I'll be rounding.

Mid background music

Didn't care for it

It was okay. Not really my thing

I know people love this Radiohead album. I don’t. At all. I like some of their albums a lot. But to me this is aggravatingly meandering.

I just can't get into Radiohead. I do remember the pay what you can release being really neat. Personal enjoyment: 2/5 Relevance to this list: 4/5

Seemd weaker than OK computer. The atmosphere and the lyrics didn't resonate with me as much. Sonically it was interesting, but not that complex or inovative. All in all, the album seems a bit too simplified.

мне не очень нравятся Radiohead( 3/10)

Kuullut Radioheadista hyvää, mutta tältä albumilta ei yhden kuuntelun perusteella jää omaan soittolistaan yhtään mitään. Höh.

I want to like Radiohead but I can't. It just all feels so pretentious

Nor heard this one before. Gave it a listen, still don't get Radiohead. Cue lots of "Ooh but they're the best thing ever in the history of everything, how can you not adore them?" Whatever, get over it.

I remember this as one of the first pay-what-you-want albums, I thought I'd do the decent thing and paid £10 for it. Later I found a bunch of my mates paid £0, and made fun of me for being a mug... bloomin' cheapskates! Turns out that I didn't like the album, and the cheapskates loved it, go figure!

Slow, spacey and melancholy. I can see why people like it but it's not for me

Ugh...I know this album is like super highly regarded, but it just doesn't cut it for me. It's everything I dislike about Radiohead with none of the things I like about them. The entire album is so...gloomy. Ugh....Actual Rating 1.5. Liked Songs: Bodysnatchers, House Of Cards, Jigsaw Falling Into Place (the best song by far)

I'll never understand why these guys are so highly regarded.

A few songs were not unlistenable. I call that a win for a Radiohead album. The good news is that I think this is the last one I’ll come across on this project.

Everytime I hope to like a Radiohead album, that never happens...

Just not a fan of Radiohead.

Some interesting tunes, but Im clearly not their fan

Already Listened

Sömnigt…videotape var ganska bra.

Maybe I was in the wrong mood, but this was just boring and dull.

**An ok album, not my cup of tea.

eh, its radiohead fav track: 15 step

Maybe better than I was expecting but still don't get it.

There's some attempt at interest musically but it is heavily not for me. Doesn't rock, can't dance to it, doesn't bring joy. Instead feels like something to be appreciated. You can't go and play outside again until you've eaten your radiohead. Stuck some breezy Hello Mello pop on afterwards and it felt like a weight was lifted.

It's radiohead. I just don't like radiohead. But I have heard worse on this list so...2 stars.

Very weird but it's quite special nonetheless

Regrettably, I did not enjoy it. I know it's a classic but it set off the nope alarms in my body.

Depressed kid music, don’t care

The worst album from a band spiraling the drain creatively does not deserve to be on this list. It isn't absolute garbage but it is a substantial step down from the bends or ok computer.

good easy listening. honestly sort of forgettable and probably won't listen to it again.

I've tried, I swear I've tried so many times, where is the 5/5 coming from. Other than Jigsaw Falling Into Place which popped up near the end like "oh hey this is good" the album is all the same, nothing distinguishing itself from the other songs.

Not as annoying as Kid A

Boring tbh.

I don't get it.

A landmark album for non musical reasons and probably deserves to be on this list. But man, I sure don't enjoy the vocal stylings of Thom Yorke.

Sorry just not enjoyable for me

They are not getting much better. It really is an Emperor’s New Clothes situation with these guys

Please schedule interviews with all the folks that rated this as 5 and let's have an intervention please. This is sadly ordinary and the vocals are irritating mostly throughout. A couple of songs seemed ok, but the last track put me over the edge.

Me and Radiohead are not meant for each other.

I feel like I'm missing something here. I found this pretty boring and I don't really know if it's that I just don't understand it or if it just is.

I suspect that ratings for this are either: 5 stars - musical and lyrical perfection or 2 stars - I appreciate why people might like this, know that I probably should like this, but just can't find the hook that draws me in.

Radiohead stuff, seemed like a lacklustre attempt to recreate past successes.

I think this is the third Radiohead album I have heard on this list and I can definitively say now that I don't like them. This is probably my favourite (so far?), some tracks having tunes and rhythm, but overall the meandering whine-rock doesn't do anything for me.

Soulless. This starts where Radiohead went from my favorite to just confusing. Not a huge fan of any of the tracks. The music is repetitive, looped, computerized, noisy, bordering on boring and has no heart. Gone are the killer guitars, the emotional sing along vocals, the sound breaks, it's just a wall of sound now and not in a good way. I find myself getting 2 mins into each song and fast forwarding. "House Of Cards" is the only real keeper but "Jigsaw..." is solid, "Weird Fishes" (until it wanders aimlessly for 2 minutes at the end) and "Reckoner" (until it also wanders aimlessly for 2 minutes at the end) have their moments. Weak overall, and certainly not Top 1001 quality!!

Just boring.

I really don't understand the hype for this band. The singer just drones on and on. I will give them credit for this album being the first pay what you want digital download by a major act.

Yeah, even in this iteration of Radiohead's musical evolution, I still don't really get it. Probably never will.

It's fine. Nothing really stood out. It's not bad, it's just not that interesting. I'm trying to figure out what's notable about this album, and I think it's only the pay what you want release. Which makes it culturally notable, but does the release and marketing affect the experience of a work of art? Should it? Should it over a decade later? I don't know. I support the model, but the work is meh.

das können die besser

Not my favourite Radiohead...

⭐️⭐️ no questions asked

**Shrug**

I like Radiohead. But not I have to say I like MOST Radiohead because this one was a snoozer.

I get that Thom Yorke has his own style, but man, I'm getting bored of it. The whole album just washed over me, it felt like one long whine.

I've often wondered why I don't listen to other radiohead songs other than creep. I now understand why I don't listen to other radiohead songs other than creep

It was good... I think? The songs kind of blended together after a while and all sounded the same and sort of disassociated a bit so... maybe I'll have to relisten at some point.

Didn’t know this album existed. Ok. Kind of discordant and experimental sounding. Not one i’d revisit.

Is this the 4th or 5th Radiohead album so far? I've been trying to get into this band for 20 years. I think it's safe to say I'm not going to get it. I just think it's ok.

Started off interesting. Then I lost interest.

It was okay

Yeah i'm just not into Yorke's vocals, holds back the whole album for me. Favorite Track: Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi

Bodysnatchers, All I Need, and Jigsaw Falling Into Place were alright...

Few decent songs but I didn't really enjoy it overall. Very sad sound.

More upbeat than I was expecting. Highlight tracks were nude and house of cards (which were more slow radiohead i was expecting). Saying that I'm not sure I'll ever sit and listen to radiohead. The strokes came on after and I much prefered that

Just not into Radiohead. I guess there's something to it I'm not getting.

Beyond odd songs, I can’t really get into Radiohead. That’s not to say this is bad, far from it, but it’s not something I’ll seek out again. 2.5

Perfectly pleasant, but not in any way exciting

Not for me

Mood music

Musically not appealing, lyrically good. Sadly my lowest rated Radiohead so far. Listens: 1 Fave Track: All I Need Rating: 2

Alright but not their best

woof, did not enjoy this almost at all. this album was the reason i didn't get into rh sooner. the last couple songs were the best!

Not a fan of this one.

Not bad exactly, but I couldn’t find anything that interests me even after multiple listens.

Some interesting sounds, a couple of standout tracks, but largely as dull and dreary as my little exposure had led me to expect.

I listened multiple times but nothing pulled me in.

Just can't get into these guys
