How many covers are in here? What is this? How does this shit get made? Surely there were better bands for the A and R guy to sign at the bar that night.
Notes - Debut album by synth pop band Frankie goes to Hollywood - Mostly re-recordings of previously released singles as well as covers - Drew additional criticism because a lot of the instruments on the album were re-recorded and performed by producer Trevor horn of the boggles & yes - feels extremely overproduced - no momentum on the album, every time theres a song with a bit more drive to it, the next song sucks all the energy - genuinely checked if i had it on shuffle by accident - technically proficient but nothing works for me, not even the big hits Fav - born to run - Just a cover of the Springsteen song but its a good one! least fav - san jose - nahhhh 1.5/5 - it was a big hit when it came out but not for me

I don't know, it feels really cheesy for some reason. Has that typical 80's vocal inflection I can't stand.
I hated this honestly. It does sound very Hollywood and big budget. But fuck man it got on my nerves the entire time. I don't ever want to listen to this one again. I enjoyed power of love.

It's long and honestly not great. Reminds me of songs I would hear in the original TMNT movies, but not the good ones. Like the classic early 80's songs. Couldn't finish it

Anche se ci sono alcune eccezioni, nutro di base una certa repulsione verso quel sound new wave e i synth a trombetta degli anni '80. Non lo so, mi sembra tutto finto. L'ascolto è stato difficile. Ho dovuto suddividere l'ascolto in più sessioni. Mi sono anche innervosito quando a San Jose il basso era tutto pannato a sinistra. Per loro sarà stata una cosa geniale. Comunque voto 1, avranno sfornato anche dei successi, ma per me non hanno un'identità.

i made it three songs in and it sucked
Just too weird and random. It seemed like they had to give every song some weird intro with a person talking or odd sound effects. Some of the songs were kinda groovy but a lot of the songs sounded the same and there was also 4 song covers which is a little odd.

There was no pleasure in listening to this album. I would never consider this one hit wonder from the eighties an album to hear before you die. It is a wonder they got the one hit. This is an album of the same song presented 9 different ways and feel like an eternity. I would give it less if I could.
