Einfach nur blank kann. Nichts damit anfangen
Somehow I got both Coldplay albums on this list within 4 days of each other, a very funny prank from the universe. I will say that this one was a little bit better; the songs actually sound different from each other, a slightly more engaging listen. Chris' voice is still really annoying but at least it doesn't always feel like the main focus here, that's an improvement. No idea why these songs are so long though. 8 of 11 tracks are over 5 minutes and they REALLY don't earn it. Probably a 1.5 if I could do half stars but alas.
Awful
I had a bit of trepidation when realising that I’d have to listen to this album again for the first time in nearly two decades. I had some ideas that it was just going to sound like bland tosh and feel like a waste of the small time I have on this planet. But I also worried that I’d come to realise I’d been overly harsh in how I remembered it. In all honesty, it was even worse than I remembered. It’s so achingly without anything that sounds remotely like art that if I heard it for the first time today I would suspect it was an AI rendering of emotional music. I expected that maybe The Scientist was going to be at least gently enjoyable, but that seemed to be the most devoid of anything I could enjoy. The guitar guy definitely has some talent for writing hooks. But the tracks mainly sounds like nursery rhymes or generic for-TV series dross. They obviously appeal to some, and I miss the appeal. But this is not an album that should be anywhere near this kind of list.
I had heard Clocks before, and thought it was okay. Every other song on the album was either too long, too slow, or both.

I really tried to go into this open minded, but this album is nothing but mid. People have all sorts of reasons for not liking Coldplay but for me they're just boring, there music fails to stir even the smallest bit of emotion in me.
Very tame and boring.

Really Robert? Coldplay? Really? This is the equivalent of when Apple automatically included that U2 album with every copy of itunes. Like, thanks for the generic recommendation of this shitty band that already gets a disproportionate amount of airplay.

08/23/2022 Okay, so I started playing this after I rated the previous album that I was given and holy fuck. I hope I can get another album assigned after this so I don’t have to wait a whole day for it to clear. Being real, I couldn’t even get through three songs on this album. It was straight up unbearable for me, like holy fuck it sucks so bad. The songs all drag and are two minutes longer than any of them need to be. Music is garbage and unfulfilling, lyrics are so basic. How are they the 12th most streamed band in the world??!! — Today was my second day of classes. It was definitely more chill than yesterday, and I finished my two models early so I got to go home at around 3ish. There was a really confusing mix up with UPS that had me panicking for about damn near two hours. The laptop that I had ordered arrived broken, so I ordered a new one, but the new laptop hasn’t come in, and I mistook a slip that UPS gave me for my old laptop that needs to be picked up as a message that they were going to return my laptop back to the distributor. ANYWAY, let’s all collectively pray that I get my laptop tomorrow and that the separate return goes smoothly
coldpay is a band without a soul. fake music, a lot of theatrics, boring to hell.

Ugh, fuck this band. How lucky that I get Sting and Chris Martin back to back? Hooray. I probably only have the patience for one listen of what I assume is a concept album about Martin’s first boner. Okay enough(?) griping, time to press play… Okay. I’ll never understand the popularity of this band nor the respect many of my peers have for this group; this half-cooked pretentiousness catered to the Today Show demographic is fucking nauseating to me. AROBTH is a mishmash of snoozy ballads and poppy post-rock, a mostly boring tapestry on which Martin incessantly wails as he’s presumably contractually obligated to vice grip his berries for a falsetto hit in each track. It’s inescapable and every bit as obnoxious as the strained introspection and try-hard tenderness that pervade this (what I can only assume is a) Starbucks-planted album. I’ll admit, there were some moments that didn’t make me want to disembowel myself. I liked the drums and the mix is pretty darn good (as it should be with all that $bux help 😉). 0.5

First album was fine. This one made me start to dislike them. Every album since has increased that dislike to hatred.

It's great snoozic (if that's not a word, then it should be). I did enjoy one of their songs once (the one about Roman Calvary singing) but that's not on here sadly.
Well now I've listened to a Coldplay album. It was as I expected from what people have said. It's nice enough. I see why people like it. There's just nothing to grab on though, so I'll leave that behind...

I tried, I really did. I tried to overcome my preconceptions, I tried to listen to it all the way through, I tried to ignore my loathing for this lame and loathsome nonsense. I was right all along. Hated it.
