Reviews (page 4 of 8)

I was blown away by this album. I dont really like electronic music and was expecting something I wouldnt like but the songs were catchy and piqued my interest the more i listened. Favorite tracks on first listen: oh baby, emotional haircut, and change yr mind.

Like Gary Numan for a new generation

Definitely long-winded at points (a lot of the record, actually), but it was still a fun and interesting listen..a lot more than some of the baloney we’ve had to listen to. Speaking of baloney, salami is what gave me food poisoning and caused me to miss the LCD Soundsystem concert I was supposed to go to earlier this year…sold my $100 ticket for $15 😭 Anyways, this was def laced with the sauce

Never new what was going to come next. A beautiful, original album. 4/5

I can hear why people are making the Talking Heads comparisons for this album. Could doing with tighter editing of some tracks and too long overall but a solid four stars.

En oo oikeestaan näitä kuunnellut ennen. Tosi vahvat Talking Heads -vibat mutta aika raikkaalla tavalla. Tykkäsin itseasiassa siis aika paljon! 4/5

Loistava, huikeita biisejä muutama. Ei silti ihan bändin parhaiden levyjen tasolla.

I'm surprised I liked it as much as I did

This was a new one for me, and I quite liked it. Some of it I absolutely loved. "tonight" is a masterpiece.

I enjoyed much of this album, although it is not yet clear to me that I needed this in my life. Maybe I’ll check back in with it again in the future.

It took until about track 3 for this to heat up. Hints of Bowie obviously but also Talking Heads, U2, Kraftwerk. Some good dance beats in here.

Great album and very nostalgic. Tonite is the best song on that album, wow! The concert of LCD is even better than every their album. Always providing great show!!

I her this and I hear instant nostalgia. I'm not sure if I'm being cynical or not. What I do know is that If this album had been released, say, a decade earlier, I would have loved it. Now...not meh, but I'm engaging with it dispassionately. Maybe there is something to that theory about our music tastes being hard wired in early adulthood. (LCD Soundsystem bubbled up just at the point when I started pretending to be a mature adult, and stopped following music and cricket obsessively. I lost out on both fronts – fooled no-one about the former, lost touch with the two things that matter more than anything else in the world to me on the other.) So actually this isn't instant nostalgia but an eternal sadness.

This might be the most consistent LCD Soundsystem album in their catalog. It has an urgency and almost nervousness to the sound throughout - anger, longing, fear, and James Murphy's trademark self-awareness - without sounding the same as previous efforts. Lyrically it's as strong as any of the three earlier albums. It helps that the return was a huge surprise, and instead of delivering just a nostalgic cash grab, they produced a great record.

I don’t know why but I was expecting to hate this. Impeccable production, plods along at a great pace, with some very clear influences. ‘Other Voices’ is a love letter to Talking Heads. 'I Used To' is a love letter to The Cure. 'Black Screen' honours Bowie's legacy in a very heartbreaking way. Favourite Tracks: - I Used To - How Do You Sleep? - Call the Police - Emotional Haircut Overall Grade: 4/5 (A-/B+)

I like LCD Soundsystem. This album is good. Coming up with things to say about albums every morning is hard.

J'aurais préféré Sound of Silver ou This Is Happening mais c'est pas dégueu Prefs: oh baby, other voices, how do you sleep?, tonite, call the police, american dream, emotional haircut Moins pref: i used to

So cool and atmospheric. They were definitely on a lot through the college years, though just kind of in the background. It definitely feels like it was pulled out of the 80's and thrown on an early 2010's dance floor.

Compared to their previous albums, I found this to be much heavier in synthwave, with busier and darker synths. "i used to" is very gothic, with Cure-like drums and longing vocals. James Murphy still sounds like Byrne in his melodic and punk singing styles, but not as versatile and more predictable. Still really fun to dance and vibe to, with a fair mix of energetic New Wave and techno with ballad tracks. I'm a bit disappointed none of the tracks except "call the police" and "american dream" impacted me as much as previous albums, but I still enjoyed them all. Also, it was too long... cut it under an hour. Favorites: oh baby, tonite, call the police, american dream

A strong comeback album. oh baby is gorgeous, and the run from how do you sleep? to american dream is so good - the way each song builds is peak LCD Soundsystem. James Murphy’s lyrics about the existential regret of getting older on tonite and the title track are exactly the kind of consolation I’m gonna need as the years fly by. The other half of the album has pleasingly twitchy and unsettling undertones but the tunes drag somewhat and lack a bit of variation. 3.5 / 4

Goed zeg! Dat eerste nummer 😍.

I like LCD sound system. I have reviewed a different album previously for this list, I have listened to this album before and I have listened to at least two other albums outside of this list. My favorite "must listen to" tracks are probably on other albums, but american dream would be easy to come back to for a second listen. "Oh Baby", "Black Screen" and "Tonite" are good examples of the kind of music LCD Sound System makes.

first listen didn't expect to like this, but the synths are so cool

There’s a math problem or science experiment feel to this … a producer in his studio with all the toys, or a mad scientist in his lab. But when the groove gets right – as on “other voices” and "call the police” and – it’s very right indeed. Sounding very much how 2017 felt for an aging hipster, the druggy drones of club life are given a heavier weight and sharper edge. Equally suitable to headphones or the dance floor, this is music to simultaneously boogie to and ruminate on.

Good! Surprising return to near Sound of Silver levels. Some good tracks.

What I expect from them

Curious mix of 80s style synths with a modern sensibility. I like it, a lot even on first listen.

Another strong album from LCD. The rockers are infectious and the slower tempo numbers sound appropriately intense and emotional. As usual the influences are a plenty....Bowie, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, Can; they're all here and many more. 4 🌟

Mjög fín plata rennur vel í gegn, man daginn eftir ekki eftir neinum hápunkti en platan heldur sér vel í gegn.

Very nice album. Super creative composition to the songs and the tone of the entire thing just feels heavy and emotional. My only complaint is that many of the songs drag on a bit long and makes the album a bit cumbersome to listen to continuously. 8/10

Call the Police!

lækkert

Each of these songs seems to have certain moods you need to be in to listen to them. Like black screen is apparently really good for an angry/tense car ride. Overall though it wasn’t awful for my first lcd album

Right up my street.

Banging choones

Given the releasing year, the music is surprisingly pleasant, espcially the album title song...

A couple of ill-advised Talking Heads impersonations, but otherwise a great listen. Best track: call the police

A great album, a very interesting listen. Liked it on first listen, will have to give it a couple more spins.

4.2 + I love the way this band takes a few sonic elements and allow them to gradually evolve and expand over the course of a track and even across an entire album. It creates such a cohesive album experience.

Some rad songs, the best of which sound like a hybrid between Neil Young and New Order.

Not my favorite LCD album, but has one of my favorite tracks "oh baby" on it. Still a great album and ends on some great vibe out meditative tracks. I appreciate putting the 2 long cuts at the end. Allows me to just let it ride out and I can disengage with the album or remain invested in it, attention wise cause it's still interesting, at least. I think this album will age nicely over the years to come, but only time will tell on that tip.

Pretty good, solidly early 90s sounding for such a recent album

Pretty cool album! Like an artsy Daft Punk. I dig it.

Another strong album from LCD. The rockers are infectious and the slower tempo numbers sound appropriately intense and emotional. As usual the influences are a plenty....Bowie, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, Can; they're all here and many more. 4 🌟

LCD does Bowie?

Mnñhe

Good album... Not as great as their previous albums but still good

This is an interesting album. At times it's reminiscent of the Talking Heads, at times the Cure, at times other 80s type bands, but at other times it sounds wholly unique. Will definitely give this another listen. 4 stars.

Sounded okay initially, though nothing really stood out. I remember some songs from their previous albums that resonated a lot more with me. I enjoyed it more when I listened a second time, realising that some songs sounded a lot like Talking Heads. Similar types of grooves, but more synth/electronics.

Instant modern classic. Not as electrifying as This Is Happening, but David Byrne influences are strong

As a defender of Everything Now: This is the good version of Everything Now. A little quieter, with the ambient tag at the end. I see the reason for Soundsystem's reception.

From the beginning I enjoyed it but there wasn't anything particularly standout until I got to how do you sleep? Immediately threw that onto my on repeat playlist and then did the same with tonite. I ended up listening to the album twice over but couldn't do any more than that so I can't bring myself to rate it 5. It's a 4.5 in my opinion but I do have to drop it to a 4 because there are no half stars!

I feel like listening to this at work made me more productive. Absolutely loved listening to it, had it on repeat. Will be adding it to my regular albums to listen to. It's not quite got the proper bangers I need to rate it a full 5/5 but definitely a strong 4 from me!

Love this album!

So fucking coooool. Makes me want to be out dancing which is not ideal during a mini lockdown in the Netherlands with clubs closed... Such a fun album Murphy is a genius, 80s synth sounds are amazing. This made me want to listen to the other albums now. Not my perfect album for all situations and there's some lengthy filler ish songs towards the end, but it's up there with the best above the average 3 rating. I should be catching up on other albums for my group but I only want to keep listening to LCD now, oops

really enjoyed this. what an interesting mix of music you could dance and sing to, and those you could just sit and muse too. I think when I first started listening to LCD SS I didn't really get it, but the more I listen the more I love it.

Standout tracks for me were "oh baby", "how do you sleep?", and "tonite".

Reminded me of Electo Joshua Tree

Surprisingly good. Will definitely listen again.

Tough to categorise - Talking Heads meets techno? Even alternative U2, elements of Travis, mainstream yet.. not. Yet I really like it - definitely will explore more, yet I know I know them, just can't put my finger on it...

I remember spotify annoucing this album to me and being happy when I figured the news out, that LCD Soundsystem had reunited. It took a while for this one to grow on me, but grow on me it has. The more linear songs, like "other voices" and "i used to", are good enough. The real gems in my opinion are the tracks that grow and unfold, such as "oh baby", "how do you sleep?" As far as the whole album goes, it is good, but I'm surprised to see it on the list. If anything, I would've expected to see "Sound of Silver" or "This is Happening". "American Dream" is (in a good way) a derivative or a continuation of those albums.

There are some stronger songs and overall it's a nice experience

Better than I remember! 4

Emotional haircut

Enjoyed this one. Some nice instrumental piano bits

Экспериментально. Хорошо, но слушать надо подготовленным к 12-ти минутным композициям.

Had heard several songs off the album but never listened to it in its entirety. Not bad for driving to. Seems like people either love or hate this album.

4.5 Songs: Evil Woman, The Wizard, NIB

Millenial talking heads

I had heard single LCD Soundsystem songs here and there, never saw the appeal. Sitting and listening to an album front to back I think it clicked a lot better. A lot of reviews mention this is considered a weak album compared to their past work so that makes me really want to seek out some of the other stuff since I liked this quite a bit. They definitely like their very long songs, I think the shortest one clocks in just shy of 5 mins.

Nice album, will be listening again

love love love this weirdness

It's a classic, that seems older than it is? Makes me want to dance.

One of the more consistent LCD albums. Great listen

Easy listening. Very cool. Feel like I'm in a movie. RJD2 esque.

Very good!

This was ok if I recall.

Interesting. Quite liked.

Takes a little while to click but a great album and comeback

Sounded like a modern joy division/new order. Enjoyed it

Progressive

If I had to list my top 5 genres, synth pop wouldn't make the cut. Not that I don't like it; most of it just doesn't levitate the genre to the top of the heap. This album, however, is top shelf.  Why is this? Having vocals that aren't an afterthought really helps the genre imho. Putting into words the reason the music, rather than than vocals, works is harder. With rock I can talk about how good the guitars or drums are and if I say it fast enough, it sounds like I sorta know what I'm talking about. I can't do that with programming. Let's just say the band has a certain amount of confidence and attitude that shows and it drives the tunes. I will seek out other LCD  albums to spin. I just need to find a time when I can play them LOUD which is definitely needed. Yeah there were some not so strong points but overall this was solid. 4 or 5 was a coin toss.

3.5/5 but we'll say 4 cause of oh baby

Maccaroni and beef. Fun fact: oh baby is Robert Plant's favourite from this album.

21st century krautrock and I love me some kraut.

Oh baby my fave

3.5 not blown away

Liked this, no idea why, synthy/ prog rock-y/ pop-y. interesting mix of styles

"Oh you'd write on your hand to remember If someone, if someone would just, pass you a pen" (other voices) "I used to see your hands in their weird positions Used to like your head when you'd watch musicians" (i used to) "Everybody's singing the same song It goes: tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight I never realized these artists thought so much about dying" (tonite) Tremendas letras tiene este disco.

It's so unusual to get an album from this era to review! Spotify pushed <oh baby> on me for a while but it sounded a bit too much like a bloated U2 anthem to me. Within the context of the other songs though, I like it. Their sound is a nice combination of layered dark EDM and post punk. They mix up the tempo and styles enough, the lyrics are clever and the singer changes his style enough to be bearable for a full album. Not all the songs clicked for me but, they would have been leftovers if this was a vinyl offering.

I've heard LCD before, never in depth. This album, being in 2017, feels a lot like 80's British Pop, especially on other voices. Funny enough, Apple Music is saying the nods to Talking Heads and 80's post-punk are apparent so I was close. This is an American band but I'm sure the people who made this list heard this album and thought it was British and that's why it's on this list. I don't blame them. I liked change yr mind as well. Fun dance beat.

Alright.. Oddball genius.

I love the singles. "how do you sleep?" is a 9 minute bop. Definitely a good post-punk album.

Good album! I see why people like it but it's not really my shit

Surprised this album is in this list. This is definitely the worst LCD Soundsystem album but even their worst is still very good. 7/10

Quite glitchy? But some great moments

I liked this one pretty well. Good mix of singing and music that can play in the background while working. Not pure electronica, but I don't think it's trying to be that in any case. 4 stars.

Excellent album

I liked this album more than the previous LCD Soundsystem album that I got through this list. This one felt like the Talking Heads at times, both in terms of the vocal performances and especially the polyrhythms 4/5

Tonite, tonite, tonite. It all has to happen now. The only dance music allowed.

pretty nice. the overall vibe is cool and a quirky type of electric music.

Ok this is NOT my preferred style of music but it was REAAALLY cool. like 70s gary numan-ish vibes but mixed with modern dance beats and stuff that sounds a bit like U2. And considering it goes for almost an hour and a half and I didn't complain about the length.... fuck yeah. 4/5.

Never really got into LCD; probably because of that daft punk song…. But this is great. Definitely worth exploring further!!

Highly anticipated upon its release, in actuality it kind of popped the bubble of acclaim this band had previously enjoyed. Overly long and largely absent hooks, it feels like James Murphy getting high on his own supply, not fully crafting anything beyond danceable beats. Which, fair enough. But what made this band special was transcending mere club aesthetics, instead blending them with rock and, crucially, songwriting, to a degree white musicians had not yet done in this century. Like its cover, this record is a blazing sun one must seek shelter from long before it stops shining.

This album opens incredibly strong but then loses steam. I'm not the biggest LCD Soundsystem fan but this album was pretty enjoyable.

I have been vaguely annoyed by LCD Soundsystem since the mid-2000’s when every third article posted on Pitchfork was an attempt to shove "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House" down all of our throats. Their music always seemed a little too clever and referential. We get it, you’re from Brooklyn. Please just make your postpunk disco synth pop dance rock without being all cute about it. But this album was fine. The worst I can say about it is that at times it did not hold my attention. Other than that, this didn’t bother me too much and even had moments of pleasantness, although those pleasant moments all struck me as having been lifted from other songs. There are a whole lot of better albums, but there are also a lot of worse albums.

underrated tbh but ill take this is happening over it

Oddly melodic electronic music for the first track oh baby. I kinda like it. other voices has a different vibe, much less melodic but more danceable. Vocals are inconsistent, varying with the music. I don’t care for the less melodic singing, but the beats are infectious. The last track went on far too long. I thought it was over after 6 minutes, but there was five more agonizing minutes to go. 3 stars

Decent listen

How much can you sound like the Talking Heads? James Murphy: „Hold my prune juice!“ Fav: Call the police

I enjoyed listening to this, but I won't be returning to it. ★★★

Loved the first two tracks and thought I might be in for another Sound of Silver experience. It can't live up to that but it has its moments. The shortest songs are too long and the longest ones aren't long enough.

It's actually impressive that in a discography of 4 albums they still managed to pick the wrong album

How is this on the list but not Sound of Silver. This is an album that didn’t really need to be. It’s fine, but it waters down the discography.

Fart sounds bitches

6/9/26. I've always slept on LSD Soundsystem, especially this album. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would, great blend of dance, electronic, and punk. Stuck between a 3 and a 4, but closer to a 3.

It's doing a LOT to be this mid.

Intriguing mix of electro, 80s 8bit music and something I would say Brit pop despite the name.

I need to confess at the outset that I have always had little patience for James Murphy. I hear where the Bono comparisons come from - "emotional haircut" wouldn't sound out of place on *How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb*, for example - but really he's like an inverted Bono; where Bono constantly tries to say something Big And Important About The World (and thereby reveals his own insecurities), Murphy tries to talk about no one but himself, which ends up revealing what (or how little) he thinks of the world. Bono desperately wants to signify; Murphy seems to want to solipsistically wallow in the ironic absence of significance. Which, fine, legitimate artistic choice and all that, but if you declare at the outset that you have nothing to say then don't be surprised when people take you at your word. I found the first half of this album tedious: competent, even sometimes exciting Byrne worship, but paired with graceless, overly literal anti-poetry about how Murphy can't connect with other people and maybe doesn't want to. I was preparing to write a takedown all about Cobain's bad influence in dissuading the would-be Voices of a Generation who followed him from ever trying to actually live up to that admittedly bullshit role, and the resulting failure of lyric-writing as an art in general that in turn gave birth to stomp-clap-hey and its ilk. And then somewhere on the back half of "tonite" something *happened* - Murphy woke up and started declaiming about the self-imposed pressure to sand away the embarrassing pictures of the self only to find that those pictures *were* the entire self. And I felt seen (that most Millennial of phrases) and a little embarrassed myself. Murphy manages to keep that same observational energy, that anger, on "call the police" and the title track, and for just a little while there's a glimpse of the capital-V Voice he could be - is. "Look what happened when you were dreaming," he commands on the title track as he surveys the emotional, spiritual, moral wreckage of the post-Obama era. "You never even asked for names, you just look right through them as if you already came." *Good God, boy, there's a poet in you after all.* I wish he were here more consistently; I'll take what I can get from him.

Ah, one of those bands that plenty of my mates got into around the early 2000s. I didn't care for their name or whatever thay one song of theirs was that I heard. This seems to be a more recent release so I know nada about it. It's very Talking Heads which, given the fact I don't like Talking Heads, is not good. Some decent moments if no completely good songs, many songs don't justify their bloated length, and I'm not a fan of the dull and emotionless vocals. But lyrics are good, they do away with much of the silliness of Talking Heads, and some of the bleeps and beats probably work well for driving and paying zero attention to the music. Just vibes.

This was a pretty fun listen. I had never heard any LCD Soundsystem before, but I would definitely listen to more. It's a very unique sound with great instrumentals and booming vocals.

some really good stuff and some really mid stuff like many lcd soundsystem albums

Good instrumentals held back by the lyrics

Decent album, definitely some skips but I tend to like LCD Soundsystem.

I knew of LCD Soundsystem but I actually didn’t recognize a single song on this album. Doesn’t mean I hadn’t heard one of the songs in the past though. There wasn’t a single song on this album that made a lasting impression on me the day after listening to it. I didn’t hate any of the songs gs but they are just no memorable.

Nice to see something relatively recent. "Call the Police" is appealing right now — "we all know this is nothing, this is nowhere." It seems more recently that they reformed; it's hard to believe it's been close to ten years. Time goes fast.

beepboop wrm zijn de liedjes ZO lang … hij heeft beetje aparte stem maar like dit s best goed maar als achtergrondmuziek ik denk niet dat ik op een dag zou denken o! vandaag ga ik american dream luisteren van LCD soundsystem

meh did not inspire me

Not bad

Some decent songs on this but it's far too long and I don't really connect to much of it. I'll give a 3

Way better than I thought it would be! Painted 7/11 alien to it :)

Solid take but doesn’t quite hit like their earlier stuff. Still worth a ride.

im in the mood for this good so far sounds like electronic radiohead love the bassline on other voices

Hit and miss.

Maybe decent background music?

Pretty decent album. A bit slow and drony in parts, not a huge fan of the vocals but some nice music. Emotional haircut the best track IMO. 2.5/5.

I feel like they can do better than this. I only liked Call the police and Emotional haircut.

a couple of interesting beats. might be a 3.5 for me

*Really loved the Talking Heads referenced stuff *Everything else was good but nothing else stood out

Some songs overstay there welcome...(too long). But good late night album for sure.

Shockingly nice to jog to! No glaring objections, no passionate highs either.

Kind of an empty Talking Heads with synths. Not particularly special, and so long.

If the fourth, and fourth best, LCD Soundsystem is on this list, then I assume the other three are too? Personally, I love LCD Soundsystem and yet I only ever really listen to the first two albums and wish they hadn’t come back from retirement. “The Long Goodbye” was such a great send off. On the other hand it did mean I got to see them live. This album is okay, I guess. I liked “tonite”.

Emperors New Clothes. Fine but don’t understand why this album is on the 1001 in addition to their early better works.

Lite kluven.

Got a cool and unique sound going. Some songs drag a bit too long without much of a change up for the beat so have to knock it for that.

Previous album was better. Maybe need to listen to again

2nd time in a week for LCD - Starting to grow on me a bit. Not quite there yet, but growing...

I somehow always find this music pretty dorky and lacking a cool factor. music isn't bad.

A few enjoyable songs scattered in here among the mediocre ones. Also too long for my liking 3 ⭐️

Эта система издает какие-то звуки

ну вроде получше их предыдущего альбома из этого списка, но все равно в целом то же самое, много однообразных повторяющихся треков, и как же сука долго. Только пара треков в целом ничего Не моя группа

I could actually listen to this

This record was okay. I liked it a little more than I disliked it. Favourite Track(s): i used to, oh baby, change yr mind Least Favourite Track(s): call the police, tonite

Honestly alright as BGM.

Fine. Good ambiance.

This album is decent, but absolutely not even close to a top 100 pick from the 2010s for this list. Sound of Silver was better and this band doesn't need more than a single inclusion regardless. As for this album, it's kind of hard to believe it came out in 2017, as it firmly sounds like a late 80s album. Some could argue that's impressive, but for me it's just disappointing and feels way overdone.

Interesting some Joy Division some New order some Talking heads

No. 391/1001 oh baby 4/5 other voices 3/5 i used to 3/5 change yr mind 3/5 how do you sleep? 3/5 tonite 3/5 call the police 4/5 american dream 3/5 emotional haircut 3/5 black screen 3/5 (2x) Average: 3,18 Was alright.

This album was fun! not the sort of thing I would reach for on a casual thursday, but something I would listen to again.

Great album and incredible songs in this one. It's the most recent studio album as of today (April 9th, 2026). It's tripping, psychedelic, transcendent and lively. Always a pleasure to listen to LCD and this one was cool.

Reminds me of The Chemical Brothers. I liked the percussion on “how do you sleep?” I think I enjoyed the title track best. Cool listen, interesting vibes. Not an album I’d return to.

Great Alt Rock - with nice beats

Kinda just ok electronic music. Chill.

This is way better than I predicted. Listened on a first true spring day while walking. Lots of great times and some nice melodies.

Good, but it kinda drags sometimes. Not much else to say. LCD is usually pretty reliable stuff to put on.

You know, I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know if I would listen to it again though. It's really repetative. But, it lit up my brain, so I'll give it a 4?

This is one of those names I've heard before but never paid much attention to. That coupled with the album art, I just wasn't expecting goth rock. This has that '80s influence, the choppy drums, the slurred bass lines, and frankly it's not bad, it's just not my scene. It starts off like the uplifting ending on your favorite cheesy '80s film, right as everything gets put together for the happy ending, with your protagonist talking about how everything worked out afterall. Then it's constantly displaying interesting musical quirks that truly benefit the sound. It's danceable and it's also got a rebel side. I appreciate the efforts, it's just not something I'll ever feel in the mood for. 2.7/5

This being on the list over S/T or This Is Happening is a joke. A joke! At least Sound of Silver is on here. I had my time with LCD Soundsystem, I went to a show on their farewell tour, I made my peace with their brief run and their three very solid albums. I don't know that they needed to come back and this record didn't really dispel that notion. It's ok, I guess, but just not as many peaks as the other records (or as high), and it's just way too bloated. It all sounds a bit tired. This band could have gone down as legends if they stayed gone, but money talks I guess.

I was actually surprised that I enjoyed this. Very disco-y and new wave-y but through the 2010 alternative lens. It definitely felt inspired by Talking Heads and post 2000s dance bands like MGMT. Clearly this wasn't particularly original because I can't help but compare it to what came before it, but again, I liked it well enough.

Blind album and artist. This album had some sprinkles of interesting but couldn't hook me aside from 1 song.

It’s like a poor parody of their previous albums. Call the police actually sounds like U2. Another poor choice for the list

"american dream" is a classic "......but the portions are so big!" album for me. Listening to this record is like going to a restaurant and they bring you something truly delicious but it can feed like 8 people and you try to finish it off but you just can't. And in the end you leave feeling bloated and completely unsatisfied. I like a lot of the music here. It's great. But they all seem to follow the same formula, have the same drum track, and last five minutes too long. It's fine. THREE STARS

It's alright, but why not the first album instead?

It was ok but too long at one hour 22 mins

This was good as the previous one, also 3.5, but one of them in the replay list is enough

Good but I much prefer Sound of Silver

I do like the album, but it just sounds “overbaked” compared to previous LCD albums. Highlights for me are “Change Your Mind” (The LCD sounding like the Talking Heads comparison is REAL strong here). “How Do You Sleep” has a great beat and sounds much darker their usual sound in a good way. “American Dream” sounds like some sort of prom slow dance but I like it.

LCD is one of the modern greats. I don't think you'll appreciate this album unless you're familiar with their other work, Sound of silver for example, but I enjoyed it. I've seen them play some of this live, and it holds up fantastically. American dream and oh baby are personal faves. 3.5

not too bad. could grow on me 3.5/5

Bopped along a couple times but didn’t grab me enough to make it feel special. Neutral 3.

I enjoy LCD Soundsystem's minimalism, but I have yet to find a whole album of theirs that I like. Liked Songs Added: Oh Baby Tonight Call The Police Emotional Haircut

2/19/26 - Listened during work. Have mixed feelings on it. This would be a perfect 3.5 in my book as I could see myself putting it on again if I was in the right mood but I wasn't blown away by it. I do not round up though so will remain a 3. Top Song - Call the Police

I listened to Sound of Silver for the first time recently and fell in love with it. Their sound is different from what I usually listen to but it's addicting and unique. That being said, I didn’t resonate with this album as much and I felt some of the songs lingered for too long, but it still has a lot of what I liked. A couple of their songs reminded me of Talking Heads.

Petite vibe U2 mais plus électronique, sympa

Electronic but interesting

This is one of those that sounds monotone and subpar until you listen a time or two. At first I thought it was too slow for dance music, but too electronica for sitting around listening. Giving it another shot or two and it blooms a bit. There are a bunch of cool flairs and fills and experimental bits that make the effort rewarding. I also though the writing was juvenile or, I don't know, matter of fact about the things the guy was doing. But even that gets better. Not life-changing or inspiring, but some good glimpses into the human condition. One severe knock on it for me though is the repetition. I can't stand it when someone just repeats a lyric a few times. Once you've said the same line 5 times in a row, I'm skipping your song. They do that bit much. I now find this interesting enough to check out some of the band's other works. Still, this is a 3 for me. I don't know that it really brought anything New to music or influenced future bands.

There are some songs on here that I loved so much. Some others that are more mid, but generally a great vibey dancey mood.

favorite: Emotional Haircut

The album started off slow, but picks up on the later tracks. The beats were really cool and engaging, although I didn't care much for the vocals; they were definitely trolling with the 8+ minute songs at the end, though.

Rating: 7/10 Certainly a bit of a controversial choice for the essential album list, since even among the LCD Soundsystem fanbase it's divisive. Probably due to a mixture of being a reunion album that arrived so soon after their hiatus, and that it still couldn't possibly live up to their "final" album This Is Happening and their mega epic sendoff with their "final" live show/live album at MSG. And it's true, it can't really live up to the band's pre-hiatus output, but now about a decade removed from that reunion and new album drama I will say this album american dream still has some pretty good stuff. In my opinion, the highs are not really up there to the best moments of Sound of Silver and This Is Happening, and the sonic palette shifts from bouncy and rhythmic electronic punk stylings to moodier, darker pieces. It's basically like James Murphy's electronic worship of post-punk music at its least dancey. I definitely don't think I ever gave this album much of a fair shot. But I would still call it all around 'consistently pretty good' at worst, with my highlights being Oh Baby and the title track.

Took 2 listens to "get it" but yeah it's interesting and pretty cool. I'm not cultured enough to dig into it and start loving the subtleties, but after 2 listens I do enjoy it and wouldn't mind listening to more of their stuff 6.5/10

Favorite songs: oh baby, i used to, tonite, call the police, american dream

it was long

I just can’t vibe with them as much as I try. Sadness, truly.

Really need to spend more time on this band. I like what I’ve heard. Just need to hear more and give them more time.

Twas good.

There is something poetic about Sound of Silver (2007) being the other LCD Soundsystem record on this list given American Dream is the comeback / return and the reflection / statement 10 years later. And while this is post-peak, just like the subject of its title, there's some sweet left in the bittersweet even when the victories turn into defeat.

Think this needs a second listen cos I lost momentum halfway through. Love the first song!! okay so after a second listen... I appreciate this but I dont LOVE it right now. Comparing it to Turnstile's Never Enough + Bjork's Debut (two most recent listens) it has come up short. Maybe it's the punkiness?? would probs be better live

Not the best representation of LCD Soundsystem that I've encountered, but not bad by any stretch. Sounds well produced but none of the tracks really hooked me.

Overall Rating - 2.75/5 (5.50/10). Not bad, but not great, either.

Decent, don’t like it as much as sounds of silver 3 stars for me

I ended up listening to this over about 3 days which isn't good for remembering and good/bad points! Overall it was an interesting and listenable album. I detected elements of Talking Heads, Pink Floyd and U2, but not to the point of copying them exactly so I don't know the elements were just in my imagination or real. The album was good enough that I'll try listening to some of their other albums.

Sounds like a lot of 80s bands (mostly Depeche Mode).

Long and weird. There’s some good stuff here, particularly change yr mind, but ultimately I was ready to be done with it by the end

Maybe 3.5/5. It could grow on me with re-listens.

Something's missing. Despite how acclaimed this band is (and I do love what songs I've heard off of their self-titled and Sound of Silver), there really wasn't much to sink my teeth into on this album. How Do You Sleep? and to a lesser extent Tonite were pretty good, but otherwise this just washed over me. It felt derivative of, rather than inspired by, a host of earlier new wave artists such as Talking Heads and Devo. 6/10.

Fine. Not great not bad.

Decent.

"Oh Baby" was, for lack of any other words, electrifying. This may be in part to the music video too, but the electronic sounds provided the perfect emotional beats to match the ballad-like vocals. Really amazing way to begin an album, once you get past the tension of the first minute of the song. Unfortunately, so much of what is built in the first track falls flat with "Other Voices". The flat tone of the singer doesn't do enough to distract from the incredibly repetitive bass. Even the introduction of the second singer, Nancy, couldn't save this for me. Despite this, I cannot deny the track has the potential to grow on me, elements of what I like are there in some capacity. The almost The Cure like tone of "I Used To" and a more musical display of the lyrics (as opposed to the spoken delivery of the last track) elevates this one for me; makes me wonder if this will be an album of hits followed by misses. So far correct, with "change yr mind" largely forgettable and "How do you Sleep?" killing it with the sinister synth beats. Predictably, I "Tonite" didn't land with me. Murphy's talking delivery of lyrics just never works for me, he has a voice that's perfect for actual singing, so it feels like potential is always lost. The didactic delivery of the lyrics, mixed with the delivery creates for something that reminds me of something Morrissey would sneer about. Actually, I really didn't like this track. "Call the Police" sounds like a more traditional indie rock track, with Murphy taking a return to actual song. By this point, I am very aware of the pattern of like/dislike and trying to remain objective, just so that this narrative doesn't confirm itself for that reason only. The beginning of "American Dream" feels like it could have been lifted straight from the cutting room floor of The Cure's Disintegration; At this point, there is no denying the influence the band has had on LCD Soundsystem. Similarly, it holds a dreamy quality to the vocals and a fuzziness to the guitars. I loved "Black Screen" but, unfortunately, am powerless to properly explain why. The melancholic vibe, the use of keyboard and basic drum beats. It makes for an eery sort of beauty which doesn't mind taking it's time to unfold. Overall, I did enjoy this album, even if it was incredibly hit and miss in nature. There is enough here for me to want to look further into LCD Soundsystem, for sure.

Banger, but not their best

I listened to the first song and thought "Why do people compare LCD Soundsystem to Talking Heads? They actually sound good." Then I heard the rest of the album. The instrumentals here are better at least.

LCD Soundsystem's disco-punk fusion sound is so unique and makes for some great music. A decent album with my favorites being "oh baby", "tonite", and "call the police" which are all new to me amongs the other random LCD singles that have permeated my consciousness over the years

fine album, don’t get why people hate it that much all i’ve seen are bad reviews it’s not my favourite album ever but it’s not horrible sometimes the songs FELT really long, like idc if a song is long as long as it doesn’t feel long and some songs here felt like they went on forever

Some tracks were pretty fun, but at some point it stopped being fun and started dragging on.

high 3 for now, might have to revisit this cause i couldnt focus properly

Definitely LCD Soundsystems worst album. Even the good songs are kind of dull

Album #1000 for me today - I've been waiting for this for so long. It's an album I haven't known before. Good soundscapes, electronica and it reminds me of Beach House, then it's more post-punk/new wave, a bit like Talking Heads and Joy Division. It sounds more complex than it is, actually the songs are very simple. The atmosphere is calming and nice. I wanted to round it up to 4 stars, but it's a 3.5 star album at first listen and will stick to 3 star for now.

Like it, not sure if it’s the album I would have put on the list.

Some good cuts in here

I thought the album was okay. What I didn't understand was why the songs had to go on and on for so long. Really? Why does a song have to be more than 9 minutes or in one case longer than 12 minutes long? It just makes the songs themselves, the music and the lyrics, repetitive and boring.

Big fan of lcd soundstages, I went to see them tour when they were supporting this album That being said, not my fave. Some songs are good (tonite, oh baby and the title track) but everything else I’m not too thrilled about, especially compared to their older stuff. Still a good album

'Oh Baby' is a great start to the album but I feel like it was kind of downhill from there. I've never been a fan of James Murphy's talk-singing thing, and most of these songs are just soooo loooong. I haven't listened to LCD Soundsystem's earlier albums in a long time, but I remember them being a lot more fun; maybe I'm misremembering though.

Synthpop I didn't really care about. It's not bad, though. Interesting to say the least.

Fair enough. Few stand out tracks but far too long. Found the repetition of everything a bit tiresome after an hour. Sound of Sulver is better.

Well, I liked it. It does go long at times, but still works while playing in Photoshop..

Not LCD's best album but still good. The band's reunion certainly helped boost this record to the top of the charts but being 1001 list worthy is a bit of a stretch. Hard to find something by the band I don't like though as their system of sounds are right up my alley. Electro-dance beats mixed into a jam session with an airy lead singing poignant lyrics is a recipe for success in my musical cook book. Probably would have been a little better trimmed down from a 5 course dinner to just an entree with a few sides. The American Dream may be dead but this record still lives on at 2.84 stars.

Not quite as strong as Sound of Silver, but still another solid entry from LCD Soundsystem. Another batch of good tunes, a couple of which I added to my liked songs. The back end slows it down a little too much and I can see why the bonus track didn't make the cut on the original release as there's not much there. This album didn't resonate as much as the prior entry but I still enjoyed the listen. The talent and creativity is clearly on display at various times and seeing that the band only has 4 albums it's clear I need to check the other ones out. It's a shame I wasn't more familiar with LCD Soundsystem prior to running through this list as I feel I've been missing out. 3.21 stars

I see the year 2017 for an album on this list and immediately get nervous because, while I'm far less of a music snob than I used to be, there's not a great deal of music post-2008 that I truly appreciate. However, LCD Soundsystem's 'American Dream' is a rare surprise. The first track, 'Oh Baby', is rather forgettable, but then 'Other Voices' rolls in next with such an infectious groove that owes plenty to Talking Heads. All of a sudden, I'm realising there's plenty more to this album than meets the eye on it's basic, minimalist cover. Then the process repeats. 'I Used To' is another relatively forgettable tune (with cringey falsetto), before 'Change Yr Mind' literally changes my mind again, bringing back that Talking Heads-esque shuffle beat and Fripp-esque guitar. Listening to 'American Dream' is starting to feel like watching Star Trek movies: every even-numbered creation is good while the odd-numbered creations leave a bit to be desired. But then you get to the synth-heavy 'How Do You Sleep' where, for 9 minutes, the song pounds along without any real payoff, and the Star Trek cycle more or less continues until the end of the album. So, in conclusion, this could've been a great EP if you nixed the forgettable odd-numbered songs and kept the even-numbered bangers. Best songs: Other Voices, Change Yr Mind, Tonite, Call the Police, Emotional Haircut

Interesting very, beats are calm yet give a modern vibe, very intriguing, not my type thing though

Electronic. Sounds a bit like the cure

Some funky and catchy vibes

3.0 - Ok

I really like some of this, but some of it really misses for me. A good listen though.

This is alright background music, but not something i really wanna listen to. However, some of the songs do remind me of David Bowie's Berlin trilogy.

This was up and down for me. Some tracks I liked, some not so much. Overall, it was better than I expected at the start. Low 3.

Riktigt bra andra halvan, lite för trevande första halva. Black Screen är toppen, man ska lyssna fokuserat medan man typ lägger pussel :)

sometimes he reminds me of Brandon Flowers/ the Killers, sometimes he sounds like David Byrne, & he always sounds quite urgent. Although I love tracks 2 and 7, most of it is just too electronic for me, not enough melody. But I do dig LCD, the good tracks are great!

A couple of really interesting tracks. Call the Police is the stand out. I’d come back to this.

This is like making a tie-dye shirt. It starts with the calmness of colors dripping into a bucket of water, along with the methodical wrapping of twine around the shirt. The drops begin to take up space, expanding ever so slowly. The energy intensifies as the bright white shirt is slowly lowered into the water, absorbing bright, chaotic colors in a wild pattern. The negative space defines the bursts once it's ultimately fully unraveled. As it hangs to dry, the pattern is hypnotic.

Like an alternative history of the 80s. Fripp/Eno, Eno, Can, Kraftwerk, Berlin era Simple Minds (pre pre Breakfast Club) and Depeche Mode. They're all here. As always. But the influences form a composite sound that ends up sounding like none other than LCD Soundsystem. Sounds and songs delivered with energy. Better than most but I have to assume there are at least two other LCD albums on the list - no?

Cool record. Love it when there are layers and layers of percussion. There are some awesome bass and lead saw sounds too. I'm not crazy for that too cool indie singing style, but it does kind of fit in lcd soundsystem somehow

It was ok

Started off fine, ran entirely too long. Mostly “meh.”

This album opens with a 80s feel about it, and then moves into bowiesque type rock and settles on 2000's alt rock at the end, almost like they are tipping their hat to their influences (the video for tonite kind of confirmed this). other Voices sounds like they listened to Talking Heads and decided to try something similar, but did it quite badly. I am not 100% sure how to take this album. I quite enjoyed listening to it, but it still didn't make me want to leap up and go and find all their albums and listen to them. There were a few notable songs in among some pretty average songs. The album relies on a catchy beat with some nostalgic riffs. I gave the previous album by them a 4, but I don't think this is quite there. Ultimately it is borrowed music and not unique or new. 3.5 stars

I feel like, individually all the ideas on this record are fantastic. My only issue is that they tend to be dragged out for minutes on end in a slow build up, with no changes (no choruses, bridges, etc). I want the music to change up, give me a hook or something, and it just refuses to do so. So what I'm left with is a 9 minute long song that has the same beat/vibe that just keeps getting stuff added to it. And it ends up dragging for me.

A couple of tracks reminded of OMD but beyond that wasn’t particularly taken by this

Big fan of LCD Soundsystem. Although this album goes on for too long. After a while, it just sounds like studio navel-gazing.

I don't know how to feel. 3.

An homage to post-punk while capturing none of the energy or emotions of the movement. Personal enjoyment: 3/5 Relevance to this list: 2/5

not their best record, but I still enjoyed it enough

Oh Baby is my favorite LCD Soundsytem song and is probably in my top 100. The rest of the album feels quite flat by comparison and all fairly forgettable.

The Wikipedia listed equipment played on this album is absolutely orgasmic - Rolands, Yamahas, Moogs, Korgs, ARPs etc - all with cool names like the ARP Odyssey or the Korg Trident II. I assume it's the analogue synths that gives the warm and imperfect tone that drips with nostalgia. As well as alignment with Stranger Things, the Drive soundtrack came to mind, especially on the lovely title track. Detached melancholy. Loneliness. Resignation. And other words. 'oh baby' and 'american dream' are the two solo-penned tracks by Murphy, and to my ears the most moving. Astride those, 'tonite' and the other dance numbers sound a little flat and frivolous, without the layers of the better tracks. Even 'black screen' a downbeat close to the album, feels too detached and simplified for my liking. I liked the general aesthetic but much prefer the more ambient numbers compared with the more DIY-sounding repetitive dance beats. Give me sinister chord changes, give me shimmering synth. They hot the spot a few times, but overall underwhelming.

Good, but more atmospheric than bangers e.g. American Dream sounds like an 80s soundtrack song.

groovy

I enjoyed it, not nearly as tight if an album as SOS, but still good nonetheless. 3.5/5

LCD Soundsystem is probably peak 10s indie hipster. If you ever wondered what real music hipsters listened to, then this is it. This is quite late on the LCD Soundsystem timeline, it has gotten more clear dreamie vibes than their earlier stuff. I think it works quite well, some I disco, some electronia som indie-pop. I can’t really say much about it, it’s a sound that was popular at the time, if you like this type of music I guess you will like this. I think it’s ok but it’s not that memorable, it’s a bit to hipster for me somehow. Mid 3.

★★★½

Just when everyone thought LCD Soundsystem was over they came back in 2017 with american dream and off the bat you can tell this is not on the same page as their first 3 albums. Something about the music here isn't as special or intriguing as the original trilogy with the electronics often switching from the main focus to the background all the time over this album and it feel more like a rock album with electronics then an electronic album from LCD. There are some really high highs then they are some good lows but it's always jumping around like a kid on a trampoline. I hate to say it but black screen was such a hollow ending to such a phenominal band, it really left a sour taste in my mouth as I could never imagine the band making a song like this to close out what will probably be their final project ever. american dream is more then just disappointing it's not in character at all and that's why it is so frustrating. I wish I liked this more but this is not the LCD Soundsystem I knew when I first started getting into their music.

'You're still a pushover / For passionate people.' This is good pop music, a fusion of therapeutic landscapes and Talking-Heads quirkiness. Opening w/ a legitimately consoling track - 'Oh, sugar / Give into me / You're just having a bad dream / Of ringing alarms'; 'Lean into me / There's always a side door / Into the dark' - the band then steadily reaches into their bag of percussive dreams and makes a record that's at once soothing and hard-nosed. James Murphy is a real artist in that he sounds like no one b/c he sounds like everyone: in other words, tho LCD has clear soundalikes, they possess a magnitude that can only imply a deep musical entrenchment. It would take too long to get to the bottom of their influences - a good thing.

LCD Soundsystem is a band I should adore on paper. And when they land a hit, they absolutely nail it; those tracks feel alive, immediate, and unmistakably theirs. But the deeper cuts on american dream drift into that trademark LCD sprawl, and that’s where they tend to lose me. I get why people fall hard for this band—their love of the craft is undeniable—but something in the longer, more repetitive grooves just doesn’t quite click for me. The highs are excellent; the rest feels like it’s aimed at someone with a slightly different dial than mine.

This was nice but didn’t really move the needle

If the talking heads had really expensive synthesizers

Not my favorite of their albums but they always blow the doors off live

I like this album but it's not amazing... curious if this made it over Sound of Silver or even This Is Happening, two far better albums

This is a fun one! But not the most fun one. Still a good listen.

Random thoughts: * Surprised to see this album on 1001. But I also see they do have Sound of Silver which is the LCD album I would have chosen too. * absolutely love the first song Oh Baby. There is another song that has a similar slowish vibe too, maybe American Dream. That sound works best on this album. * I enjoyed the album but few if the songs remained with me. This album seems like it is more notable because LCD came out of “retirement” for this album.

I remember listening quite a lot of their first album back in 2005 and getting bored a fter a while. I feel the same on this one. Yet I applaud the attitude.

A surprising album where you can feel many diverse influences that ultimately blend together quite well. It made me want to follow this LCD soundsystem band to get to know them better.

Enjoyed this one. Was a bit surprised by its inclusion - with This Is Happening being a much more well known album for them. Started strong, ended strong. There were a few songs in the middle that didn't do it for me, but nothing so bad that it killed the album.

I enjoy LCD Soundsystem, but I feel they came about 30 years to late. This band would have thrived in the 80s!

cool stuff. never had the chance to check them out but liked it much more than i expected to.

Good sounds. Not my usual style but i vibed with it for a bit.

Genre: New Wave Didn’t enjoy this as much as Sound of Silver, but it’s an enjoyable album nonetheless. A bit more plodding this time around: longer tracks for the sake of being longer. Good, decent grooves throughout though, and will certainly have its fans. 3/5

take the nostalgia glasses off this album is just ok

Didn’t listen to the whole thing. Songs I listened to weren’t very climactic or momentous. Just chill vibes really. Some were good.

It’s alright but doesn’t quite punch it up a notch anywhere

The comeback album that was a bit of a let down after two classics.

They’re definitely interesting but I can’t quite catch the vibe yet

I don’t think this is the album to listen to. But it’s good and a post 2000 album that’s good is a rarity on this list. So 3

I am a long-time fan of LCD Soundsystem singles. James Murphy is almost exactly the same age as me, and, as an aged-out former music scene guy, I really related to "Losing My Edge". LCD Soundsystem draw on the same grab bag of influences that makes up my record collection; krautrock, Berlin-era Bowie, Suicide, Remain in Light, Eno, Gang of Four, acid house, disco, Steve Reich, etc. And they generally intercept those influences into something new and compelling, without simply rehashing the past. And you can dance to it. But I am completely unenthralled by this record, their big "reunion" record. It was their highest charting album and biggest seller, and they leveraged the reunion hype to headline many of the world's highest-profile festivals. But the cover art really encapsulates this album for me; a stock photo with generic font and possibly the most boring album title ever. The album is schmick but largely forgettable. It's got a beat and a well-produced dance-rock sound, but the songs are really bland. I agree with Chris Stannard in The Wire: "This record is no cause for celebration. It's a slab of nothing, a media spectacle for the terminally impressed." OMG, that is totally what is going on here! The wikipedia article for this album is clearly padded with extraneous detail from the record company's EPK, and reads as the step-by-step instruction manual for the roll-out of a high-profile major-label album release in the 2010s. Multiple release platforms, festival appearances, online presence, high profile TV appearances, the street team, the push for virality and earned media. And it worked, at least in the immediate term; the record got great reviews, sold enough copies to chart highly, and appeared on many "best of 2017" lists (which means that either lots of people fell for the hype, or 2017 was a pretty weak year for music, or both). But I don't think this album has cultural legs. It's LCD Soundsystem's weakest and most forgettable album, with a chronic shortage of bangers. I think there is a place on this list for LCD Soundsystem, but this record ain't it. This is still a better listening experience than many contemporaneous albums, but it isn't their legacy.

I feel this album captures aging, regret, and lost dreams with honesty. Although the themes themselves don’t feel particularly new, maybe the album’s impact lies more in how LCD Soundsystem express those feelings through their precise, layered sound rather than in what they’re saying. My taste in electronic music isn’t consistent — I like Radiohead’s later electronic work, enjoy Underworld, but usually avoid overly clubby or upbeat electronic tracks. Still, I found myself enjoying this album and at the very least, it makes me want to check out their earlier albums.

I hated this, but I also liked it. It was accessible while also being annoyingly pretentious. Sometimes the music was fine and some fun lyrics, but also pointless and songs went on for far too long. I don’t care enough either way to do multiple listens to figure out whether I actually like this or not.

Another good album, very 80s throughout. Saved one song which was how do you sleep.

*2017. *I like LCD Soundsystem and house music in small doses. 68 minutes was a lot. *Really good for house music. RATING - 6.5/10

LCD Soundsystem is always a 3 for me. There are some good parts in every song but they are all so long. Also I don’t like the all lowercase aesthetic.

Pretty decent.

I love LCD Soundsystem, they are one of my favourite bands and they are the best live act I have ever seen out of the many gigs I've been to. However, I have no idea why this album was selected to be on this list. It's very good but nowhere near the level of Sound of Silver or This Is Happening for me. Got to dock a star for that.

It made me think of Talking Heads. I enjoyed it however I am afraid I have to take a full point off just because this album cover is so so bad.

Forgettable.
