Good stuff

This is one of the greatest albums of all time. What disappoints me in that since CDs and then streaming people who are hearing this for the first time don’t get the “magic” of having to flip the record or tape and experience side two. Something about that pause. Then pressing play and hearing those clicks to kick off back in black. This album is amazing and side two is pure magic. Maybe streaming services need an “album mode” tha breaks the album where it was broken on the original media. And then new artists could set up their releases in a similar manner and bring back curating the album. I’ve listened to this album recently so there was no need to put it on agin today. But I did. And it’s so great. 🤘🤘

Pretty iconic. Raspy voice, instantly know who it is and what they’re about.

Amazing Great guitar solos Classuc

Top ten in my list

Well, you get what you want from this album. It's AC/DC all the way down.

People like to drag this album because it’s overplayed, but it’s one solid gold hit after another. Sometimes this is just what you want to listen to.

Brian Johnson taking over the vocals but an otherwise unchanged formula of heavy blues, crunching riffs, and lyrics that would not pass muster these days, barely managing it 45 years ago, I imagine. Still ....

Theirs is nothing particularly complicated, or innovative, or fresh about Accadacca, but when they do what they do well there is no other band that can touch them. Yes, a lot of their stuff is hard to tell apart, even on this album (but that’s the same for the Rolling Stones, or Muse), some of the lyrics are absolutely terrible in terms of the crassness and misogyny (“Let me put my love into you, babe / let me cut your cake with my knife” for example), and two-thirds of the rhythm section is literally just count-to-four simplistic, but when the whole starts firing well, fuck me but you can’t help but nod your head. There’s a reason why this is one of the biggest selling albums of all time.

Great album

I've already listened to his album (22). The gold standard from comeback albums, or juste being back in general.

Come on, this is an easy one

Classic rock

Cool album

The first album with Brian Johnson comes on like thunder...even though that classic isn't on the album. I know a lot of classic AC/DC fans prefer the Bon Scott era, but I tend to love more of the Johnson era songs more than the earlier ones. This album comes on super strong with Hell's Bells--an absolute classic. Shoot to Thrill is a little more on the average side for me personally, even though I know it's a big hit. The title track and You Shook Me All Night Long... nothing needs to be said about those two. Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is a deeper cut that I always loved. As usual with AC/DC, there are a few filler tracks, but less than many of their albums. It's not like the slower moments are really slow, afterall. For me this is probably their best, or near best album. Not quite a pure 5/5 but maybe rounds up.

It's been a while since we had a billion play song and here we have two. 45 years later this album is still rockin' and everyone knows at least one song from it

Countless movie soundtracks and commercials. This music has been everywhere. I was even reminded of Butt-Head wearing an AC DC shirt. Though I have never listened to the album before, I knew every song. There is a reason this is the second best selling album of all time. I am not going to lie- the short shorts really threw me. I had no idea what the lead singer looked like and I would not have guessed that voice came from that body. Who could possibly dislike, "Rock and Roll ain't Noise Pollution"!?!?

Pros and you can hear it. Not my everyday band but the album is a hit machine. High energy, all parts of the band as good as the next.

Once again very biased... the only song i hadn't favorited was "have a drink on me" so almost a perfect album for me personally But, most people have heard the titel track, the band and seen the album. It kinda ticks the boxes for a must hear album even though it's not your style. It's Easy listened rock, gets a bit repetitive if you're not into it (I'll admit, they use the same 4 chord power progression... but hey, who doesn't)

If you don't think this album rocks, then you don't rock. Simple as that. When I was growing up, I was a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan (still am), and we added an old Trevor Hoffman, a closer, who had already cemented himself as a Hall of Famer. His entrance song was Hells Bells. He ended up getting his 600th save with the Brewers (only the second all-time to ever reach that milestone). So that song has a place in my heart, unrelated to music. Musically, it just rocks. There really isn't any other way to describe it. And it's loaded with hits. At the end of "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution", I was still ready for this album to have at least 2 or 3 more songs. Favorite Song(s): Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution

Until now, I had only heard individual tracks from the album, but now I've listened to it in its entirety for the first time. Yes, the music may not be particularly clever, but it's tremendous fun. I'd love to listen to it again. 5/5

Que más puedo decir de uno de los albumes que me cambiaron la vida con 14 años. 5 estrellas puro por la nostalgia, aunque no lo considero el mejor de ACDC

Some good, old-fashioned, turn your brain off rock and roll. As an Aussie, I was raised by a dad big into Aussie rock and AC/DC was one of the bands he had on pretty regularly. This album has some of my favourite songs by them and is just all round a loud, fun rock album. The fact that they lost Bon Scott and immediately picked up where they left off is amazing!

pretty good stuff

Banger shit

Epitomy of hard rock. Still great to this day.

One could easily be confused into thinking is a greatest hits album. Almost every song has gotten radio time and it slaps top to bottom. Not really an A and B side so much as two A sides. Blistering solos and passionate vocals make this one for the ages. Fave song: Back in Black

Shit I am excited to listen to this! The music is very solid, all the riffs are simple but perfectly on point for the genre, and the band is tight! holy smokes, the vocals kept slamming on track, and they just keep the energy from start to end. Even though this album did not reinvent the wheels, they sure did a perfect demonstration of how simplied riffs get people riled uip good.

Two of the most recognizable openings riffs on back to back tracks on this album with the title track followed up with You Shook Me All Night Long. Listening to this album today for the first time in a very long time, brought back joyous memories of seeing them perform at Sarstock way back in 2003. It was so hot with no shade in sight but that didn’t stop me and my friends for sucking back joint after joint, taking in all the great times that day. I was 18 at the time, which really is the sweet spot for AC/DC whose music really is dumb and fun, I was dumb and fun so of course I was into them. What a great day that was, so thankful for it. 5 stars

something to play for the ultra hyper

banger after banger after banger I want to go commit arson and drink 17 beers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makes me feel like I’m on a Harley while I’m in my Hyundai Sonata.

Come on. If you don't like this album, I don't what to know you. Seek therapy.

Thank you Satan and Australia for giving humanity this drug I wrote about my experience growing up with the AC/DC Live album when we had Highway To Hell a few months back. These guys were hands down the coolest effing thing my parents ever gifted me and my brothers besides… well, life itself, I guess. Lyrics aside, this album gets people of all ages jacked up to do anything from cleaning toilets to scoring touchdowns. The guitar work is actually fantastic, Brian Johnsons voice is impossible to imitate by mere mortals and there aint a dead track in these 42 minutes. If there is a greatest thing of the 1980s or Hard Rock itself, its this. This is the top.

One of the best ACDC Albums; just awesome

The energy on this album. Hells bells is such a intro song for an album. Genius to start off with the bells. The first 4 songs are non-stop racing pace bangers. I admire their energy levels throughout this entire album. This is rock and roll.

Ren glede. Rock and roll ain't noise pollution!

This is such a great album. It's so perfectly written, performed, recorded and mixed and it's a joy to listen to. Really puts me in a kick-ass mood and I love it. Everything is so punchy and tight and it's just got a great groove. Almost every song is a bona fide out-of-the-ballpark hit and the ones that aren't should be, because they're easily nearly as good as the rest. I listened to it twice and bought it on vinyl just now because I love it so much. Five stars.

OH SHIT 👀👀👀 — No notes.

iconic

They do what they do and they do it well

Electrifying as it should. Shake your head and let it go.

The quintessential metal album.

Always said AC DC didn’t need a beat if album because Back in Black could easily be that. No track on this album is not known. Insane album. No tracknto skip just an end to end banger.

One of the all-time greatest rock albums.

Awesome!

I heard this album 5 times even before I was born. That's classics, how can you not like it?

Standout Songs: Hells Bells Shoot to Thrill Givin the Dog a Bone Back In Black You Shook Me All Night Long Have a Drink on Me Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution Probably my favourite AC/DC album, so so happy I got to listen to this. Nearly every song absolutely ROCKS!

Scroll down to the hilarious five-star review posted on October 3rd, 2022. That's all I need to say to justify my rating for one of the best Rock And Roll albums of all time. Favorite Track: "Back In Black".

I love Led Zeppelin!! This is another to put in the Boston-self-titled club of so many hits on here it may as well be a greatest hits. Yes every AC/DC song is the same, but they just rock.

One of those “perfect albums” where every track is a great song!

Amazing

sirius black would love this give a dog a bone came on while I was playing w my dog, ahhahaha it ate tbf

a historical album. mainstream hard rock but i am mainstream, so i love it

Pure rock n roll

Outstanding

one of the albums i was fully familiar with prior to the project, some may say that ac/dc is too simplistic or all their songs sound the same, i say they know what they do best and have perfected their sound, if you want straightforward rock, this is the album for you

Québecois Comment : Yessssss, on va faire du 4roue dans bouètte! Translation : Yesssss, let's go drive a 4WD in the mud! 5

Nostalgia and good rock. Lovely.

I got my bad habit of only listening to the same singles over and over again from my father. This album is proof of that - he listened to this album CONSTANTLY as he drove me around, but basically only Hell's Bells and Back in Black. (To be fair, 85% of the other songs are about sex, but that never stopped him from playing "Big Balls" all the time). I'm so glad I listened to the entire thing, because holy crap, does this album ROCK. It's strange to say - Bon Scott was such a unique presence and energy that made AC/DC what it is - but is it possible that Brian Johnson perfected what Bon Scott made?

Another classic rock album with hit after hit. 5/5

Definitely a desert island album in my top 40. True rock and roll, with risqué lyrics that aren't lewd. Perfect road trip music!

Classic solid album. Metal!

Another one that isn’t exactly my typical cup of tea, but this is just an undeniable force of rock.

Owned this CD since I was 10 - played it so many times I can't even remember.... Brian brings the band back in absolute ACDC style. Wow.

love it

Bangin'

The write up maybe kicked this to a 5 for me.

What do you do for money, honey?

A master piece

What AC/DC do best. Not a bad track to be found.

magnifico, glorioso

The best comeback album after your lead singer died? Probably. It shreds. Don't think too hard about it, it's not meant to be dissected. 4.5/5

Soundtrack to the youthful, hormone laden Friday night. Chauvinist and a relic of its time, sure. But this album sonically rocks. The lyrics are not for deep contemplation, it’s for just giviner on a fun filled weekend out in the bush.

Rock and roll ain’t noise pollution. Enough said.

Pure unadulterated rock and roll Love it!

Discazo, todos telones, siempre me gustó que este disco arranque con Hells Bells porque hace que el disco ya arranque con mística. Y los temas no tan “comerciales” todos unas joyas hermosas.

Es un discazo obvio que le voy a poner 5 estrellas

Perfect rock.

"It's such a fine line between stupid and clever." --This Is Spinal Tap

ugh i love this album.

Solid through and through. Great album.

Excellent. Rocked throughout.Glad I've finally given this a chance

I've written that I like big, dumb, fun, rock music in so many reviews throughout this project. And there may be albums that are bigger, dumber, or more fun than this one. But how many of them had the almost supernatural combination of right singer, right producer, right band at the right time? Quickly: none of them. If you don't know by now, you never will.

wall to wall bangers, rock doesn't get better

Meilenstein

Cock n Roll.

At this point, this is just too perfectly stupid to hate on.

rockin

Det er enkelt og tidvis teit, men bra.

Great party album. This simpleton loves it.

Solid. Very solid. This album doesn’t wear me out like some AC/DC albums do. It’s not as repetitive as some of the albums get. It’s dark and you really feel like you’re summoning the devil is you listen too long so I don’t. I’m like a 2 song at a listen person. That’s called protection. A great cover of Hells Bells is done by the Dandy Warhols FYI Choice cut: Hell’s Bells

Hells Bells is a great opener but there's really not a bad song on here. It's just uncomplicated rock and roll, butits simplicity is part of its enduring appeal.

Legendary band & album. Worst part is that today, it's giving Tony Stark.

This album has the lyrical depth of a puddle, but it goes to show that not everything needs to be deep. Catchy riffs and dirty vocals, what more do you need? A rock ‘n’ roll classic!

Brilliant order of songs enhance the album’s overall status. A perfect side, instead, becomes a near perfect record. 4.5

Gotta love them

Was shocked by the death of Bon Scott but the band came back w a vengeance and set themselves at the top of rock mountain with this.

Innuendo filled. Juvenile. Catchy as hell.

Still great

the only thing I can say about this album is that it feels like having a cig with my boyfriend in his car, windows down, night city lights washing over us both, hysterical laughter and the radio loud enough to bother every car around us. happy, in love, smelling of marlboros and sex. yeah

While the formula is quite similar for the songs in the album, there is a reason people and companies are rewarded so highly when they come up with the "perfect" something. This album is an example of that with each song from start to finish being very easily enjoyable and repeatable on their own merit and could well be adapted to multiple different situations which are some the key aspects of a great album. This will get a 5/5.

What can I even say ?

5 stars no notes, but I’ll happily listen to this again. Also unquestionably the most successful singer replacement of all time.

Top ten album

Classic.

"Punch you in the throat" rock. It's what cocaine listens to, to wake up.

Flaws don't stand in the way of a great dad (and in general) rock album. 9.5/10

My favorite. Their best. Shoot to thrill, baby.

Álbum divertido! Um clássico do Rock. KZ ZVX.

This is such an amazing classic album that has so many good songs on it! And the fact that it was kind of a rebirth of this band!

This album slaps - an entire album of back-to-back hits

I would like to see some science on testosterone production whilst listening to AC/DC. Only soy boy wet wipes don’t like.

ya lo habia escuchado pero igual ta chido

Not in my top 20, but definitely a five star album.

The greatest commercial hard rock record of all time? Probably. Album tracks could've been viable singles for many other bands. They play cheap tricks; but by God are the tricks powerful. It's puerile but isn't it good to be every once in a while.

• 5/5 • So good - every track holds its own. Maybe the best hard rock album after Led Zeppelin II

What an absolute riot.

soooo cooool

Scho rächt cool...

boah han ich das pumpt mit 12i. ziit lang nöd gfühlt welli gmeint han ich seg z cool. its hells bells man. cannae beat a bit a ac dc. ich finds so hard wies eigentli a disco gar nöd so wiit verbischrammt. post chorus chlises riff de hammer. solo suuuuuper. angus son geile siech. shoot to thrill ihren beste song? kennen immerno hert uswendig. niemer cha da so wie sie. find d drums töned insane geil. ah und die bridge. soooo geil. what to do you do for money honey. prostitution song. ? de post chorus lick ding isch soo geil. de refrain selber isch halt son mitgröli, findi weniger geil. knochul song au cool aber schwächer sicher. merci ich kenns würkli no z guet. let me put my love into you super geils riff. back in black tönt soooo geil d drums s riff. so eis wo er immer will nospiele aber s tönt nie so wie sie. you shook me ihren beste song? sauguet. vorallem am angus sis veste solo hoooly shit. er macht nüt mega komplizierts aber s isch so singbar au. have a drink on me und shake a leg lönd chli noh. rock n roll aint noise pollution isch true und au en sehr geile song öööh. de hani wieder null im chopf.

This was gas, no misses

Chock full of AC/DC hits. Cover to cover good listen.

It's the same song over and over but god does it rock.

Old man Rock but every single song a hit!

This album was already in my collection, but at least I had a good excuse to play it again. Sheer Rockin' brilliance from AC/DC!

Freaking awesome

A classifc./

I typically wear baggy jeans because of my weight but as of late i’ve been shedding lbs so I bought some thigh hugging jeans (NOT SKINNY JEANS) and decided to try them on today. this album coupled with the jeans had me feeling like a sexy bitch today. hell yeah.

Eifach nome scho wäg dem geile erschte Track, Hells Bells, als Intro geds scho e Beschtnote. Au söscht send die meischte Banger oder wenn ned de eifach geil.

Literally, within the week before I see AC/DC perform live for the third time in my life, I get one of their landmark albums. That statement alone gives away my bias towards this band. My Dad raised my brother and me on listening to them as one of the first rock groups we were exposed to. As such, there's a communal bond shared in listening to and enjoying AC/DC, even going as far as learning to play their songs on drums and guitar. Naturally, it was a treat coming back to Back in Black, which itself is a triumph for the band. This was their second chance at their career after their original frontman, Bon Scott, died by misadventure. It's a daunting task for any band to replace their original singer, as they're the first person people usually identify with the band. Thankfully, AC/DC found a suitable replacement in Brian Johnson, who brought his belting pipes and charisma to their hard rock formula. Sure, Brian doesn't have the same wild tenacity as Bon Scott, but he was never meant to be an exact replacement. Rather, his unique performing style suited the band's music well. That takes us to the actual music, which thankfully worked out with Brian and the Young brothers penning out the kind of energetic, hard-hitting riffs, lyrics, and solos expected from this group. The fact that I can't help but sing along to every song on this album, including deep cuts like "Shake a Leg" and "Have a Drink on Me", is a testament to their sonic magic. With every band member playing excellently in their respective role, paired with Mutt Lange's powerhouse production, they fired on all cylinders and delivered an amazing collection of bangers. Not much else needs to be said here. Not only was Back in Black a fitting tribute to their fallen brother, but it was a glorious rebirth of AC/DC as the hard rock veterans they are. While there have been diminishing returns for their output as the years went by, this album continues to maintain its relevancy, and that satisfies the fan in me.

excellent

I can't decide whether I prefer Back In Black or Highway to Hell. But since I gave H2H a 5...

Classic.

I once paid for the privilege to deliver Brian Johnson's newspaper, around a year after this album had dropped. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, but it was definitely money well spent. The lyrics on this album haven't aged particularly well, but I'm still going to give it 5 stars. The way I see it, about half of the songs are stone cold classics, the remaining half are best listened to without dwelling on what's actually being sung. The band's playing is tight, and this blues-driven/ rock and roll/ heavy metal hybrid is a perfect template for other bands to follow. It's maybe simplistic, even formulaic, but this is also part of the charm.

Now we're talking. Way back in the dark pre-internet days of 1980 one of the only ways to hear new rock music was via Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio One, TV on the Radio. The gang I ran with were huge AC/DC fans, me not so much (that came later). Dirty Deeds, Powerage, Highway to Hell, If You Want Blood were all on rotation on the ghettoblaster, and we were all shocked by Bon Scott's death. So, we gathered around the speakers, 10 PM after youth club, with a bottle of cider, and listened as Tommy played a new song by AC/DC. The slow bell tolled, the mournful riff built and, after a minute and a half, we heard Brian Johnson for the first time. "Oh my god, It's Donald Duck," I said, which brought me a mild kicking... I did get used to, even love, Johnson's shrill voice and, although for me Back In Black will always be slightly below Highway to Hell and Powerage, it is an astounding album. Mutt Lange, as he had done on HTH, makes AC/DC sound huge. The guitars are separate and distinct; you can hear just how much of the band's power is Malcolm Young; open chords never sounded so good. This is probably AC/DC's best sounding record. There isn't a bad song. "Hells Bells", "You Shook Me All Night Long", the title track, and "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" are classics; the rest are not far behind, full of Carry-On style sexual innuendo, drinking and partying; all deceptively simple and meticulously crafted. I will always miss Bon Scott's slyer, seedier persona, and I do question the speed at which the Young Brothers completed and released this record following his passing. But Back In Black is one of the great rock albums of all time and broke AC/DC in the USA, even if they never reached the same heights again.

Not even the blow job song could take down this rating

This is not Sargent Peppers, Dark side of the Moon, Straight out of Compton or Black Sabbath in that it changed nothing. It is a band playing rock n roll that is fun, entertaining and let's not forget it's a tribute to one of the greatest frontmen of all time, bare chested (look up AC/DC on top of the pops) Bon Scott. Fun is the key point here if your looking for more then don't listen. The Romones did the same when they released The Romones. There are many great songs which in the light of our more enlightened times (Trump excluded & his Cronies too) do not stand up to examination. Fav track: You shook me all night long This was the first AC track I heard and have been listening ever since, the intro to TNT and Livewire are the two greatest intros in rock music

Rockin ass album

whoah na ez váratlanul nagyon tetszett

It's been around 20 years since the last time I listened to this album. Back then, I was not that into Rock & Roll, so I really didn't pay too much attention to it. What a miss.... Unadulterated energy and timeless riffs <3

Pure perfection start to finish not one bad son several classics can't see anything less than top marks.

Classic. This is good guitar rock.

Leyendas.

Hells Bells followed by Shoot to Thrill is a strong opening. The next 2 tracks are forgettable. Let Me Put My Love Into You is stupid lyric-wise but has some good guitar riffage. Back In Black is a classic, being followed up with another, You Shook Me All Night Long. Have a Drink On Me and Shake A Leg are pretty good, especially the latter's guitar. The closer Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is okay. I didn't think I was big on AC/DC but this rock classic was enjoyable. A lot of the songs sounded pretty similar and were the same length, but it was cohesive and nothing really lacked. A 4 star is tempting but I'll go with 5.

I mean

Fave Track: Let Me Put my Love Into You

Arguably one of the greatest rock albums ever

What do you say about an album that is surely perfect for what it is, even if it’s not to your taste? Now 45 years since this album came out and it has stood the test of time better than just about any record I can think of. The music has nearly the same ability to capture testosterone-fueled young men today as it did then. These drum-and-guitar-driven tunes feel as relevant as ever to the people they were aimed at. There's not a not to think about here, but that's not the point. It's an absolute classic and an amazing achievement and the fact that it also came together just after the death of Bon Scott makes it even more remarkable.

Yep. It’s great.

One of the greatest hard rocks albums of all time!

Finally, I get to review Back In Black! I have a copy of this album on vinyl, but I'm not sure I've actually sat down and actively listened to all of it; I'm sure I know I've thrown it on a few times while doing things around the house, but I'm excited to go through it with a more discerning ear. I know the singles off of this album really well, and I know I'll enjoy listening to them again today. Let's get after it! I'm really struggling how to rate this album, and I probably won't arrive at my rating until I'm done typing out this review. For starters, I definitely prefer the second side of Back in Black to the first. The title track is fantastic. Those opening drum hits and the opening guitar riff are just classic. "Back in Black"'s guitar playing is simple, but it's insanely catchy, and every other aspect of the song just makes the guitar playing that much better. "You Shook Me All Night Long" is another classic with an instantly recognizable guitar riff. The drums hit perfectly throughout the song, and the guitar solo is incredible too. "Have a Drink on Me" is bluesy, but still has that quintessential AC/DC sound. The same goes for "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution." "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" is the perfect closing track for Back in Black. The bluesy and slower guitar playing puts the perfect bow on the closing of one of rock's most fun parties. That's what I love about the second side of this album: it's just an immense amount of fun. The first side of Back in Black is good, but it just feels like a warmup for the awesomeness that's to come on the second side. "Hells Bells" is great, and as recognizable as some of the guitar playing is later on in the album, the main guitar riff here is still an instant classic as well. The bells in the intro do a good job of setting the tone for this song, but they don't really do a good job of setting the tone for the whole album. "Shoot to Thrill" is really underrated in my book. The drumming and guitar playing are great, and the vocals are really fun too, especially on the chorus. The bridge to "Shoot to Thrill" is the main star though; I love the screeching guitar and how it almost plays like a call-and-response with the vocals. As for the rest of side one... the double entendres and innuendos are clever, the guitar riffs are good, the drumming is tight, and the vocals are great, but these songs fell a bit like filler to me. They fit the sound of the album really well, but for my money, they just don't bring a lot to the table. As far as this album's legacy and impact go... I mean come on, Back in Black was and still is a massive landmark in rock and roll. These guys should have been done for after Bon Scott died, but they came back with the strongest album of their entire discography, and kicked off the decade with one of the best selling albums of all time. I was born five years after this album came out, but the songs on here were a massive part of my life in my late teens and early twenties. As much as I've heard "Back in Black" and "You Shook Me All Night Long," they're still a blast to listen to. This album is just a lot of fun to listen to, and even though I'd probably be inclined to skip some songs if I were to fire it up again in a week, I still think it's fantastic. I think this album deserves five stars, and it's definitely worthy of its reputation as one of the best rock albums of all time.

ihanaa!!;

Cry more libs

Favoritt Brian Johnson album med AC/DC. Pangstart på 80-tallet med en fet skive som Back in Black. IMO ingen direkte "dårlige" sanger på albumet. Hører gjerne gjennom hele uten en eneste skip. Favorittene fra albumet er Let Me Put My Love Into you og Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.

Highlights: - The whole damn thing

5/5. Not a bad track. A perfect listen from beginning to end.

Exceptional. A joy from start to finish.

Hells Bells is a great into to this album. Hells Bells sound a lot like church bells, I'd think that's the last thing Satan would want to hear. I understand the criticism of all AC/DC songs sounding the same, at least their repetitive sounds awesome. Also, thematically very consistent as highlighted by Let Me Put My Love Into You. They say write what you know so I think it's safe to say these guys know women, partying and rock and roll, in some kind of order. There are a lot of AC/DC's greatest hits on this album. Hells Bells, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Have a Drink on Me and Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution....that's a good lineup of singles. AC/DC and ZZ Top feel like mirror images of each other, one is more rock and from Australia and the other is more bluesy and from Texas. All I know is I like them both. Brian Johnson is like the poor man's Robert plant. Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is an underrated AC/DC song.

It's crazy how good this album is. I was never a huge fan of AC/DC even though I knew all their songs, including these 10. That all of them are together in one is amazing.

Pet Fav songs: Shoot to Thrill. There are a lot of classics in this album. It does peeter out in the end a bit though.

The lyrics may have dated (and are unbearably cringeworthy in 2025) but the music is timeless.

Full on rock, all songs pretty similar though. Classic album tho

Loved it

I mean, this is just a classic, isn't it? I may be suffering from personal bias here just a little bit, but I think anyone who was learning to play guitar as a teen will be somewhat nostalgic about this album and I'm no exception. This is still my go-to album when I'm feeling down, when I'm feeling strong, or literally anything else on the spectrum of emotions. When someone says the words 'rock music', this is the first album I think of and it entails so many of their best pieces. Call me basic but I'll always keep coming back to this one.

Timeless album

This is #day235 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and... rock'n'roll ain't noise pollution, rock'n'roll ain't gonna die, right? This album ticks off so many categories and deserves nothing less than a perfect score. Face it: one of the most iconic album openers in rock history, possibly the greatest comeback album of all time, especially considering the original vocalist passed just a year before. And last but not least, it’s simply a flawless rock'n'roll record, delivering all killer, no filler. The energy, the raw power, and the riffs make it timeless. Some absolute bangers are "Hells Bells," "Back in Black," and "You Shook Me All Night Long." I'm giving it a 5 out of 5. Looking forward to #day236.

Classic

Personally I consider AC/DC a bit overplayed. But the fact that I even think that now 45 years after it's release speaks to the crazy staying power of this album. If it just wasn't that good it'd never still be overplayed even among people born 20 years after it's release. The lead singer switch for this album is absolutely pivotal for AC/DC as a whole, and by extension music history Standouts Shoot to Thrill Back In Black You Shook Me All Night Long 5/5

Love em or hate em, they sure know how to rock hard!

Powerful. Heavy. Fun. Sweaty. Ballsy. Primitive. Dark. Macho. Simple. Amazing.

Epic album, stands out so far from its peers that its a household name worldwide.

Simply one of the best albums ever made. No skips. A masterpiece

Al fin algo que merece descansar el tiempo, y muy merecido mi puntaje

A classic ... but does it hold up. Fingers crossed... It 100% still slaps.

There are some albums that immediately mentally transport you back to when you first (or most prolifically) listened to them. Other albums make you wish you could listen to them again for the first time. Back in Black is the latter for me. It rips every time.

a rocking classic, high octane from the outset to the last hit

AC/DC is a great band and this is a great album. I heard it growing up and listening to it today brought me back in a really good way.

Kedvenc/Favourite: You Shook Me All Night Long 11-13 évesen hatalmas AC/DC korszakom volt, nagyon sokat hallgattam ezt az albumot. Nehezen lehetne szerintem azt modani rá, hogy rossz, elég egyszerű, de nem is kell bonyolítani. Hagyni kell kicsit, hogy csak úgy vigyen, hadd szóljon. I had a huge AC/DC phase when I was 11-13, I listened to this album a lot. I think it's hard to argue that it's bad, it's pretty simple, but it doesn't need to be complicated. You just have to let it take you along a bit, just let it play.

no notes. perfection

Banger

5 Stars!!!! totally Essential!!!

Brilliant from start to finish.

i LOVE IT. al the siongs r good but i like wdydfmb, bib, ysmanl, sal, and raranp best

yeahhhh 🤘

All killer no filler. Filthy, not as funny as Bon Scott's AC-DC, but great tunes and storming guitar

not every song is a 10/10 but the album is a 10/10, if that can be possible?!?!? they nail the vibes

None more black.

Even though every AC/DC record sounds basically the same as the last one, this has something special. It's the first one with Brian Johnson, after Bon Scott's death, and given that everybody was used to hearing Bon's voice, Brian quickly got everyone's attention. This album marks the start of a new era for them, and it's a great sounding record with great songs.

I mean, it's pretty much flawless.

nothing wrong with some good old-fashioned ac/dc. play their music in just about any public area and it won't be long before a couple of middle-aged men start laughing and singing along. the first album to feature brian johnson after bon scott passed, this album was intended to be both a tribute to his life and a way to SHATTER the charts with the loudest metal music out there. if you're a rock fan or not, you probably recognize at least half of these tracks. hell's bells are ringing, brother.

I know we all like to shit on AC/DC for having every song sound the same, and over the Brian Johnson portion of their career that is entirely fair. I dig Bon Scott era AC/DC much more, but Back in Black is EXCELLENT and is a definite high point for them. I haven't listened to it front-to-back in ages but I have loved this album for decades.

Goes absurdly hard

Favorite Track: Shoot To Thrill

Classic. Listened to it all day. Still stuck in my head.

I mean, yeah it’s AC/DC. I dont love the vocals, but they’re iconic enough for me to ignore it. I feel like a frat boy but it does fuck

Хоть это и классика классика, но мне она нравится! поэтому импульсно ставлю пятерочку

Great album. A heavy metal classic. So many great songs on this one.

All time classic album, rocks hard from start to finish

Like most classic rock bands (and this album came out 5 years before I was born, so it's classic rock to me), I've spent little to no time with their full albums. I just bought one of their greatest hits albums and called it good. This might as well be a greatest hits album on its own. What a monster track listing! An easy, easy 5 stars.

285/1001 Pues m'alegrao la mañana ☺️ 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

Absolute Head “Banger”!

These guys rock. Another band that just pumps out the jams and this album goes hard. Even the songs that never made it to hit status they give their all. Their slowest song is either “Shook me All Night Long” and it still makes you want to party and fuck all night, or “Rock and Roll ain’t noise population” which is an instant rock anthem. Not even counting Shoot to Thrill or the titular Back in Black this album is solid. Went in with 5 songs saved and walked out with 7. Legends.

So good. So many classics on here. AC/DC definitely have their style, but every song has its own guitar hook and the rest of the song just flows from there. Not the most complicated of albums, but super enjoyable.

Already had a majority of these songs liked on my Spotify, so this was a fantastic listen. Some of the biggest classic rock songs of all time are of this album, and it still holds up after multiple decades and replays. Easy five stars.

Back when I reviewed Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction I said that an argument could be made for it being the greatest pure rock and roll album of all time. The reason I said that an argument could be made rather than just saying it was the greatest is because I knew that Back In Black was waiting in the background. So many songs on here are overplayed but for some reason that doesn't bother me with this record. I still love every time I hear "Hells Bells", "Shoot to Thrill", "Back In Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution". 5 songs out of 10 that are still played on the radio everyday since this album was released. This album is half of their greatest hits. Like I don't know what to say other than this album fucking rocks! I'm sure people are going to criticize it for being simple and sounding like every other AC/DC album/song, and all I can think is that those people just don't like having fun. Not all music needs to be deep, meaningful, or technically impressive to play. Sometimes you just need to rock out to power cords and screaming at the top of your lungs! Now excuse me while I go watch Iron Man 2.

This album is fun from start to finish. Everything AC/DC does it a good time. - Jamie Jones I know I spelled it wrong are you really gonna get on me right now "Yep." What the hell I'm just trying to appreciate AD/CD

La definición del un estilo!

4.6 Oude herinneringen

Brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyable and the second biggest selling album of all time, even though it's not their best, in my view. All their best stuff was from the Bon Scott period - I remember exactly where I was when I heard he had died. Brian Johnson is a lovely bloke and had a stronger voice, but Bon Scott was the spirit of rock.

waarschijnlijk het beste comeback album ooit... als je frontman, zanger en songschrijver het loodje legt en je dan met zoiets kunt terugkomen... petje af

One of the most sold albums ever with a lot of recognizable tracks, no matter if you listen to rock and metal or not. Absolute classics you can nicken your Kopf zu! Iconix riffs, nice solos, catchy lines, got some real "rock-hymne" potential.

The only way that this could rock harder is if Bon Scott climbed out of the grave, threw Brian in and sang the shit out of these songs.

This album needs no words or introduction.

opens with Hells Bells and closes with Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution. Almost all bangers in between.

Iconic

Absolute classic album 5/5. Every song 5/5. Okay maybe just 90% of the songs are 5/5.

10/10. If you love to rock, you will probably enjoy this album. I bloody love to rock! :) This album is FIRE!!!!! :)

Loved everything about it

So simple and yet so brilliant. A milestone in Hard Rock. Wow

Words cannot describe how much I genuinely love this album.

Honestly don’t know why I never listen to this album.

Not a single bad track on this album. Absolute classic. 5/5

Rock and roll ain't noise pollution. Not this lot, anyways.

Favourite songs: Shake a Leg, What Do You Do For Money Honey, Have a Drink On Me, Shoot to Thrill, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, You Shook Me All Night Long, Back in Black, Hells Bells, Let Me Put My Love Into You, Givin the Dog a Bone Least favourite songs: none 5/5

This is what a rock album is supposed to be! Unique vocals and awesome guitar riffs.

Top 5 albums ever recorded

F'ing classic

Great stuff. Need to listen to more ACDC

bam, pow, boom... energy and enjoyment and classics. Where Metal meets pop, but doesn't sound like pop. I imagine this helped stamp their legendary legitimacy.

Albumi #136, 16.12.2024 Mielestäni AC/DC:n paras albumi. Albumi nauhoitettiin synkissä tunnelmissa aikaisemman laulaja Bon Scottin kuoleman jälkeen. Mestariteos.

Banging.

not always looking for ac/dc, but this album is loaded

All time classic from start to finish

Gaman að vera 14 ára aftur, það sem ég hlustaði á þessa plötu út. Geggjað rokk. Gleymist oft hvað botninn er ótrúlega þéttur, bassi og tromma gera Angust kleift að setja sínar slaufur ofan á pakkann. Back in black er ekkert eðlilega gott lag. Nostalgíu fimma.

A kickass rock storm of an album! While the early 90’s mainstream moved painfully towards Dance, Pop, and New Wave, these dudes dropped a beast into the mix, proving that rock n roll was far from dead. I’m not a true fan of the band, but tip to tail, this is a 5.

When I was 14 this was my favourite album. I had it on vinyl and for years I thought Back in Black was the opening track. It was only with the advent of steaming that I discovered that what I thought was side one was actually side two. Side two is better and listening now there’s a couple of weaker tracks on side one. 4.5 rounded up to 5.

Probably easiest 5 star on this entire list.

Absolute classic. No bad songs here - they are all dumb and awesome.

All timer

This album has so much energy! I was quite excited getting into this album, but it’s made me realise I prefer my acca dacca in smaller doses! It’s a classic and one of the best bands in the pub rock genre - and an extra stars for being Australian 🇦🇺! It also should be noted it’s an amazing album / comeback after losing their front man Bon Scott. I can’t think of any other bands who recovered after such a loss. So while I’d probably give this a 4 to listen to, and it does get a bit repetitive at times - I’m bumping it up to 5 for my appreciation of horny rock n roll Aussies.

It's big, it's basic, and it's timeless. 42 years old and could have been recorded yesterday. I'm not sure anything betters this in terms of loud, balls out, unpretentious rock.

Nothing but love for this album. The album is thoroughly enjoyable start to finish. The only thing to do after listening to this album is to listen to it again. Early AC/DC catalogue is pure listening bliss.

I knew there were some classics here, but I didn’t realise even the deep cuts were really good. Probably the best boogie rock album ever

I thought it might feel stale, but nah, it was pretty timeless. Possibly since I haven't listened to much radio in the past few years.

Classic

Let me share some stories; In 2017, when the album turned 37, I placed my CD copy on the floor around some candles and flowers, as if in a kind of African religious ritual, and then I listened to the album 37 times in a row; that same year, Back In Black and other AC/DC songs were some of the main reasons I became interested in learning to play the electric guitar; Back In Black was playing on the radio when I made love for the first time; Back In Black is the first album I listened to from start to finish. This was the album that taught me that we consume music through albums and to this day, at least in my opinion, the standard format for an album is: about 40 minutes, 10 tracks, about 4 minutes each track, beginning, middle and end, all thanks to my countless listenings of this album. Anyway, I could spend all day here telling you several other stories I have with this album. But then, instead of a review, I would be writing a 900-page book! Today I am certain that this is the most important album of my life, because if today I am a lover and compulsive consumer of music, if today I am here listening to the daily albums from 1001albunsgenerator, it is because almost a decade ago I was listening to this album for the first time. 5 stars of course!

Fuck yes.

One of the best bands ever great album if I could I'd give this one not 5 but 10

In all honesty I don't have much to say about this album. This band, this album... is one of the greatest in history. This is wall to wall awesomeness without age or end. This is hardcore amazing and I need not say anything more than listen to it. Prepare to turn it up because you are going to want to!

Heavy. Rock.

Paint me red and call me a firetruck cause that's a 5/5 every day of the week. More, please.

I tried, as I often do, to get on with this album. The hit is a classic, but is really all I can take of this album. As he moves away from prog and into something a bit more post punk on the later records, I start to come a bit more on board. But I don’t like his voice and this is just too reminiscent of a silly man walking about dressed like a flower. Which irritates me. That’s the problem with this album, for me; I can’t get to judge the quality of the music because listening to it annoys me too much.

Classic

ESSIDACE!!!

An absolute classic - a Rushmore for metal.

I dunno man. I love this album. Just such a strong classic rock album. 4.5+

Take any song, put it in a classic rock playlist, and it will never be skipped. Does this mean they all sound the same? I guess so, but they all sound great.

One of the greatest hard rock albums, ever I just love these guys in this album. Doesn’t really get any better in this.

Listen to this, Shake a Leg, then Have a Drink On Me.

in early 1980, ac/dc was at a crossroads. their previous album, highway to hell, was their most successful album to date. however, with the loss of their charismatic lead singer, bon scott, the band was unsure if they wanted to continue. after being convinced by friends, they went through the process of auditioning singers and ultimately chose brian johnson, formerly of geordie. this turned out to be the perfect choice as back in black turned out to be not only the biggest album of their career, but it became one of the biggest selling albums of all time. as much as i love bon scott as a frontman, it is hard to deny the sheer power of this album. it literally made ac/dc a household name and one of the biggest bands of the 1980s. it is quite possibly the best blues-based hard rock album of all time. highlights: “shoot to thrill” “back in black” “you shook me all night long” “have a drink on me”

One of the absolute greatest albums of all time.

I knew before pushing play on Back In Black this morning that it'd be an easy 4, but by the end I was convinced it should receive the highest accolade. It's gotta be the greatest comeback of all time considering the tragic events barely 5 months prior to its release. The level of arse this continues to kick after 44 years is beyond belief.

My only regret is that I have but 5 stars to give

Great songs, great album, great band. Easy 5 stars.

A fantastic album and a great comeback after the death of Bon Scot Listen to this and listen loud!!!

Come on

Legend

All killer no filler.

There are almost certainly better rock and roll albums in history, but this is flawless in its execution of its scope. Rock and roll ain't noise pollution, baby!

Classic!

Heavy metal at its best. 5 stars or A for me.

An all-time classic rock album. Many songs here still get played on my local rock station. Nothing too fancy, just a solid album all around. Just one track I don't care much for: What Do You Do for Money Honey. Even though I'm burned out on the overplayed stuff, I can't deny the greatness here. Shake a Leg is an underrated, underplayed song. Great guitar solo on that one.

Sorry Bon, but THIS IS IT / A monument / No fillers / Aged very well over time / Perfect

The Good: AC/DC The Bad: finding neighbor's who don't mind me blasting this album at full volume! The Ugly: The look on my neighbor’s face when the police scolded him for complaining about AC/DC!!! 5*

Completely monster album. If you like your rock with rocks on, this is the one. Get in training before you play; you'll need to be match fit to match this.

Good times

The second best selling album of all time, but is it actually any good? Abso-fucking-lutely it is. In my opinion it's the best album AC/DC ever did. There are no bad tracks here. Objectively speaking, Bon Scott is the better singer, he was effortlessly good. But I prefer the vocals of Brian Johnson. I think it fits the music of AC/DC better. On later albums he overdid it and sounded as if he was shrieking, but here he's brilliant. Every single member plays their part. The rhythm section is so tight, Angus is on fire with every riff. Obviously everyone knows 'Back in Black', 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and to a lesser extent 'Hells Bells' but you could have picked any of the 10 tracks as a single and it would have ended up being a fan favourite played on every tour. It's that strong a selection of songs. AC/DC at their loud, balls to the wall peak.

Rick Rubin says when his friends were all into Led Zeppelin he was into AC/DC. Led Zeppelin is certainly the better band but the style of production and super minimalist instrumentals that AC/DC presented was arguably more influential. Rick Rubin is one of the architects of modern music and his style carries the essence of AC/DC. Getting to the album. It's great. At least the hits are, there aren't any suprises or sleepers on this album. When you make an album off of catchy hooks and epic riffs it doesn't take long to figure out which songs are it and which songs are not. The guitars and drums stand out for a distinct sound that sounds so crisp and tight. I'm not a fan of the vocals, I know its their thing but I find it a little grating. Especially for a whole album. Additionally, every track seems to go on too long. They make about 3 minutes of content and seem contractually obligated to stretch it to 4 or 5 minutes. Overall I can't dock any points. This is the pinnacle of rock and roll produced and refined to it's core. The vocals are emotional they lyrics are empty and the riffs slam like an 18 wheeler. For an album from 1980 they found the sound that would dominate the radio.

AC/DC wrote 1 song a thousand years ago and have been rewriting it since. It's a pretty good song. Back in Black Versions 1-10 of it on this album are pretty solid.
