Tbh, it was a pretty hard listen for me. sounded more like 9inch nails on a chalkboard TO ME. i’ve listened to obscure artists/bands so i’m willing to give them another shot but it was rough.
An absolute snooze fest. Only one song grabbed my attention. very disappointed considering the magnitude of them but not opposed to hearing what else they have.

Fantastic voice! Sounds like if Tiny Tim and Sampha had a love child. Incredible. Did not know what to expect but someone said it sounds like you’re reading someone’s diary and that fits it perfectly. Cover for the album is so sick too (no pun intended).

third album of Bob Dylan that i’ve listened to on this list and i’ve only liked a handful of songs combined. really wish I could see the hype around him but it’s just not good to me. couldn’t grasp this album either. kdot just dropped a response (finally) so maybe that took some life away but damn (pun intended).

I am not a fan of folk music at all, mostly because I never grew up on it but this album is fan fucking tastic. the production is awesome, the vocals are amazing, and the total vibe of the album is unmatched. debut album too. incredible.

I mean, it’s JT. strong debut album. ‘Nothin’ Else’ the melody in how he’s singing reminds me of ‘Paint it, Black’ by the Rolling stones and ‘Last Night’ has the chorus beat of ‘The Hustle’ by Van McCoy. wonder if those were inspired by or just coincidental.

the absolute hate for this album is deeply concerning and makes me realize people don’t have the proper ears for music. a ginger that can resemble a soulful black woman is already insane in itself; the production meshes so well together also. this fucking bangs and I wish I was a fly on the wall during these recording jams. 11/10
