Heartattack And Vine
Tom WaitsI've never liked the dude's voice and have never understood the massive appeal. Some of the tunes are a little bit more low-key and bluesy, those ones aren't too bad but overall I'm not a fan

God, it's interesting...but is it good? So far, for me, it's a no. This has to be one of those albums that really grabs a person the more they listen to it.....right?! The millions and millions of Radiohead fans out there (that never shut up about how amazing Radiohead is) can't all be wrong. I've always loved their 1st three albums but after that they took a muh more ambient, electronic turn in their sound that I've never really got. This is one that I'll keep trying but I don't think it'll take
I've always thought of this album as the Winger/Nelson of the Rap-rock/NU-Metal genre. Basically, they're well crafted, pretty pop songs dressed up (or down) in nu-metal clothes
I am by no mean any kind of a blues fan. My old CD collection included the following blues pillars: Eric Clapton -From the cradle, Jonny Lang-Long time coming and something from Doyle Bramhall so yeah, my blues depth is not....very deep. This album though? Love it!! When they say a great vocalist and a great drummer make a great band, this is something that comes to my mind.
A lot if the things I hate from the 80's in here. Overly processed snare sound and annoying vocals - I can't stand Morissey's voice! I've never understood the wide range appeal with this band
Fucking horrible. The only that makes this remotely interesting is getting to hear what Johnny Rotten is up to post-Sex Pistols. After the first listen there's nothing interesting left. Shit is BORING! Repetitive jumbled messy trash. Not to mention, Johnny Rotten still remains a completely unlikeable trash human! So far in my journey through this list, this album has the #1001 spot locked up!
Not a huge fan of the warbling vocal delivery. Other than that it's okay 60's rock. Nothing too consequential for me, neither bad or great. Didn't really grab my attention on the first listen until the last 2 songs....... On the 2nd listen, the last 5 were far stronger tunes than the first 6. Not sure, but I'm guessing side 1 and side 2? Side 2 is more magical and twinkly with more elaborate and delicate compositions.
This album is not available on spotify so I guess my rating should be inconclusive
Ah, neat. I guess....all the blips, bleeps and bloops are fancy. A great album for when I'm visiting a planetarium which is somewhere between rare and never. I would love to see Police Academy's Michael Winslow perform this live!

A classic. Not really any surprises here, they've all been played on the radio! But actually, it's great to hear these tunes without the radio edit. Let me hear them swears!
Just a crazy, wild hunch here.....Les Claypool has listened to this album. Les enjoyed this album very much and thought to himself, "One day I will create my very own sound that will sound just like this!" And then, when he was done lisening, he called his friends, Ween and said, "hey you might wanna check this out." The fellas in Ween liked it but not quite at much as Les. A very interesting listen. Not sure if I'll ever seek this one again but it is really cool to hear what some of the wierder stuff of the 90's and beyond was influenced by.
Nothing bad about it, just a tad slow and boring. In the right mood though, I'd call it good piano driven indie rock. Kinda reminded me of if someone was playing a counting crows record but had they're thumb on the record, slightly slowing it down.
I'm not a fan of most other hip-hop, let alone some unknown (to me) British shit. A lot of repetition in these tunes, I could see where it could end up being catchy. For the most part, I find these songs way more cringey.
It's temu Van Morrison and I'm here for it! Although, after reading the other reviews, I'm realizing maybe I need to be checking out lyrics. But then again if I only hear the vocals as just another sound source and not the words of a cringey gross message then maybe I'm doing it right?
Boring
If Peter Gabriel Genesis and Death Cab For Cutie had a super awesome rock n roll baby
I dont really see the need for this dude. This world already has one Neil Diamond and one Neil Diamond is enough for everyone. Plus I got a gross vibe on the whole album. Without looking into this guy at all, I'm guessing there has to be loads of allegations out there regarding his conduct around the ladies.
The songs all seem to be going somewhere at some point. They seem to be building up to a bursting point but they never get there. I'm sure that's the intention but it's not for me
Canadiohead
This one! Super snoozefest at first but then the tune One Of These Things First got stuck in my head and then I listened a bit more intently. I'm on my fourth listen (maybe 5th) now and I'm loving this. It reminds me a lot of some of the Iron&Wine albums that I love. This ones definitely getting added to the library!
I did not feel the thunder with Thundercat. If anything it was more smooth and slippery.....Slippycat! Other than that though, just really really boring
The warbly voice is a bit much. Don't mind the new wave 80's sound but the vocals are a no for me
Oh man, this is one gorgeous sounding record! Layers of sound and everything in the low end is super rich. Just based on the songs, I'd say this is a 3-star album. Considering the beautiful, rich and layered sound though, I'm giving this 4 stars.
I would give it 3-1/2 stars if I could. It's better than most of the other stuff around but yet not as good as most other Foo Fighters records. Regardless, it's an mportant lo-fi predecessor to what was to come from Dave Grohl
I never knew someone else was doing what the Flaming Lips were doing......or maybe the Lips were doing what Mercury Rev was doing. Chicken or egg? Either way I like it
Today's Tom Sawyeee? Absolutely!
I already had Bryter Layter on this list and I loved it. But this album was just too slow and nothing about it really grabbed me
I've never really been much of a bluegrass or country or gospel fan. This album is heavy on all those things and I'm still not a fan
Overall a pretty middpenof the road album. Nothing really jumps out as great or exceptional. The really interesting part is Sly's use of the drum machine. This has to be one of the first examples of an artist commercially exploring the "instrument"
