Reviews (page 12 of 12)
Good for a blind guy.
I had hoped his old stuff would be more funk than gospel.
Im really not a Stevie Wonder fan, but it was ok - it gets two stars rather than one just because it didn’t annoy me
Standout Songs: Boogie on Reggae Woman Bird of Beauty This album wasn’t really for me, too sappy
I just don’t get Stevie Wonder.
This feels like a Stevie deep cut album, not a lot I’m familiar with though I’m not a huge Stevie Wonder fan. This sounds similar to his other work that I am familiar with.
Stevie Wonder writes some of the cheesiest songs ever.
Not a big fan of stevie
A lot of synth on the first part of the album, but one song that really slaps (track 6?). All in all, not really my genre music.
A couple of good tracks on this, but i don't know, i don't think it's a really strong album. Not quite a 3. 5/10
Stevie is always great, but this has to be the worst of his “golden era”.
Didn’t love this!
One or two passably decent, but too many long wandering ballads that go absolutely nowhere
Too cheesy for me! Still, some of the songs had a nice beat and that's why it gets more than 1 star. However, I've never been a Stevie Wonder fan.
No
I just don’t get it. Sorry, everyone who loves Stevie Wonder.
53/10 2.65
i know it’s good but its just not up my alley
Definitely feel like this would be better appreciated by others.
They Won't Go When I Go is one of the best songs I have ever heard, but I didn't like the rest of the album.
• 2/5 • inoffensive, but nothing remotely memorable on this album
Didn't enjoy. Can't fault the musicianship, but it's really just background music for me.
Not my cup of tea at all.
It feels like just a week ago I was writing “gee, I feel so bad for not liking Stevie Wonder.” I don’t feel as bad this time, but the songs I didn’t like I REALLY didn’t like. Some were pretty decent though!
Wailing Wonder wears me down once again.
langweilig
the amount of times i’ve tried to get through this album and i simply don’t enjoy it at all… there’s nothing that makes me want to keep listening, my brain don’t find it interesting and it feels like such a chore. i will say that two songs were very nice; “you haven’t done nothin’” and “they won’t go when i go” i don’t want to give a 2 but it’s more a high 2, i’m just done at this point and i’m raging 😆 there’s other stevie wonder albums i’ve enjoyed much much more.
ok not bad not great
I realise that I mostly like the popular songs of Stevie's. I obviously appreciate the quality of the songs, and I can see how many can love them. My feelings from the album were pretty meh.
I was excited when I got a Stevie Wonder album, but I ended up a bit disappointed. The music definitely has a little bit of beauty to it, but just seemed very boring to me lyrically. Nothing that I wanted to listen to again.
Its ok
Cheesy Stevie. I understand this album/ Stevie Wonder stands on a high pedestal in some people’s hearts on here. But, I’m not a spring chicken and I can’t tell you unflinchingly that this is dated, and dated in a bad way. I get SW’s influence on music, but I’m never Jonesing to listen to SW. I can never see an instance where I’d naturally throw on a SW record. And, if I did feel the urge, it wouldn’t be this one.
Nice mellow start. Interesting notes that are slightly unexpected. Not really a style that makes me pay attention to the lyrics Lost interest. It has a couple nice songs but it's not drawing me back to listen more
2.5
It is good music, well constructed and performed, but I just can't vibe with it on an emotional level. It just doesn't move me other than a couple songs here and there.
Not my favourite of Stevie’s work. Not sure what my favourite song is but don’t think this is a grower either.
Mah
I have never consciously listened to this album before and now I know why, it is totally boring. Sure it belongs to his "classic period" but it is definitely the weakest. I have all the albums around it, but I don't have this one. Two stars are enough, I really don't know how you can give it 5 stars. How many do the others deserve then, 'fifteen' (15)?
Dull
Stevie continues to be the best artist, musician, songwriter I know of, that I just don’t know how to get into. The front half of this album just was not for me, back house picked up a lot in my theme and style preference. More funk, a little darker at times. But Stevie Wonder does more experimental and creative stuff in pop music during this time than anyone. Wish I liked it more.
Just not my thing I guess.
Nothing but respect for Stevie but most of the albums generated for me thus far have been rather slow paced and this is yet another one. At least the instrumentals are interesting in this one and there's a bigger variety between songs. Not really good for a rainy lazy day like today though, I need something more energetic. 2/5
Same boring crap. He made way too many albums
I don't see what the big deal is. It's just an R and B record, nothing special.
Not for me
Not for me.
I was rather disappointed with this album. I thought it is going to be better....
2 Stars (5/15)
I'm not huge on Stevie. People love it so much and I try to find what it is and I just don't see it.
Wonderful album
boring, listened to 2/3 songs
Not for me
Pretty meh, too much overemphasis on notes, not enough signed sealed delivered
It's good, but it's just not my kind of music. Nice to listen to though. I can't imagine I'll be wandering back.
It's nice how this project teaches me a lot about the finer workings of my musical preferences. For instance, how low my Soul tolerance actually is. Yes, Stevie Wonder is an amazing artist you should absolutely have heard before you die. But all his 4 albums from "Talking Book" to "Songs in the Key of Life", indiscriminately thrown in here? They all needed to take spots in this list? This one? Fuck no.
No 2 from stevie. I’m not hearing any hits!
Somehow I resisted the temptation to skip songs but not sure how. Stevie Wonder does have some funky songs to get your toes tapping. None were on this album. Not saying these songs were terrible, I just found most of them a bit boring.
This is pretty poor. The songs with the funk are so much better than the slow ones. I assume his other albums are better than this! No Wonder
The first Stevie Wonder Russian Roulette fail of this list (3rd album we’ve had). Worst one we’ve had so far. Dull no funk songs prevailed making it not a great listen at all. It’s not a patch on ‘Songs in the key of life’ which followed this. So he came to his senses it would appear.
Steve's starting to sound like a sex pest. I can imagine this being very popular in the swinging 70s but his warbling is starting to grate. No stand out tunes but a steady grind.
I’m sorry, I just don’t like Stevie Wonder songs.
Not bad, but not really my thing? I'd probably listen to most type of jazz before really enjoying this album.
Eh not a Stevie fan
Not my favorite
Not a fan
As much as I’d like to be a fan, I think Stevie just isn’t for me.
I think You Haven't Done Nothin' is Stevie Wonder's best song but the rest of the album doesn't interest me at all, so my rating is 2 stars or D+.
Not really feeling this album today. I'm probably going with a 2 so far. There's some tracks that I thought were alright, Bird of Beauty and You Haven't Done Nothin' but most of this album wasn't memorable for me.
Sorry, just not that good. Recording quality is poor and the music is meh.
Kind of confused on this one. An odd arrangement of Stevie Songs. I get lost on the God songs being included here, and the funky soulful ones don’t deliver as big of a punch. Minimal repetitive lyrics don’t add to the draw.
This is #day22 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and... how about an album from 50 years ago? I must admit that before today, I only knew Stevie Wonder mostly because of "I Just Called To Say I Love You," which is kind of corny, as I assume his legacy and influence stretch far beyond that song. So, this is another first-timer for me, and my first Stevie Wonder album, too. What can I say? Well, it's kind of fine... But it's not the record I'd want to revisit soon, or ever. I'm not seeking feel-good music either. Besides, something tells me more of his works will be on this list down the road, so... This is a 2 out of 5 this time. Looking forward to #day23.
Långt ifrån hans bästa låtar.
Not my style overall. I’ve heard better songs from Stevie Wonder. Really unique type of vocal runs though. Would not add any songs from this album to my library.
Fav song- Bird of Beauty
To quote my mother "fucking stevie wonder"
Stevie lost me when he demanded my smile. Oh Stevie, how the times have changed.
Ok, but boring
all right, but quite boring overall, as background music - ok, but nothing to focus on
Thank god after this album they decided to plug Stevie wonder back in and fully charge him. What a pile of dreary shite! 2.1
The hits are the tolerable part of Stevie Wonder albums. They’re also often the faster, more energetic songs. But those are lacking on “Fulfillingness’ First Finale.” As a result, I was not fulfilled. That doesn’t mean I want a second finale.
Songs wie “Creepin’” und “They Won’t Go When I Go” ändern auch nichts an diesem Urteil.
Menudo rollazo.
is it blasphemy to say most of Stevie's songs start to sound the same?
Never been much of a fan. Still not.
I’ve enjoyed this classic Stevie Wonder period in general. However, my last.fm tells me I’ve listened to this one before and I have zero recollection. This listening hasn’t changed that. It didn’t leave much of an impression. I feel it should have as I’ve really enjoyed other records from this period, but for some reason it didn’t.
A little slow for me, though gets a bit more groovy towards the end.
A bit too bland for my tastes, sorry Stevie.
It's more Stevie innit. Quite liked the first song, there was one song that was basically Superstition, and the rest of it was the slightly funky soul you would expect. I don't find it irritating but i can't get excited by it.
Recognised more of this then I thought I would. He's got a great voice and it's pretty soothing, just not really my thing. The best tracks were "boogie on reggae woman" and "you ain't done nothing"
meh
Stevie always has great instrumentation. Unfortunately, he has embarrassingly bad lyrics. And his ballads suck. One of the most overrated artists in the canon for me.
A lovely and heartfelt album. One worth listening to with no distractions. Not my favorite though.
Not feeling it at this current moment in time sorry stevieweeveykins
I was a little concerned with how this album would be when that first song came on. It sounded like a serious Eddie Murphy singing and that just doesn’t work for me. I was wrong. Good Not that this album works for me. It’s not a return listen album but gosh darn it, Stevie Wonder has quite a few great licks up his sleeve. I love the synthed keyboard or electric piano that he highlights somewhat frequently on his songs. Choice cut: Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away
Too calm, I prefer superstition-like songs
Heel anders is 'They Won't Go When I Go', de piano ballad die een mystieke begrafenissfeer bij zich draagt. Interessant nummer. 6/10 Highlights: Boogie On Reggae Woman You Haven't Done Nothin' They Won't Go When I Go
Een matige score dus helaas 6/10 Highlights Boogie on Reggae Woman You Haven't Done Nothing
Never been a massive Stevie fan from the popular singles. This hasn’t converted me much, the first half was a bit bland. Second half was better - maybe I was just getting used to it? Consider this as 2.5 stars
Not a fan but I've got respect for the majesty of his prowess.. I like this album better than the later album he's more famous for (the overplayed one), this is more raw. 2 stars.
..
I don’t love this genre
best = boogie on reggae woman
I really like Stevie Wonders voice and I love his harmonica-play. But this special album doesn´t hook me at all. I find not a single remarkable song on it. 2,5
Stevie Wonder is one of those artists that I feel like I should be a fan of, and I do like some songs he's done, but overall I find it putting me to sleep. 2 stars at best for me.
He's got a wonderful voice, and I dig a few of these tracks, but most of the album is mostly forgettable to me.
Good vibes, but not enough for a second listen.
Nicht meine Richtung
Found this boring, couldn't get into it. Didn't have any of the Stevie Wonder hits I was previously familiar with
Nice Not much standing ut though, fairly normal
I was expecting a soul filled funky journey and was sorely disappointed, with the exception of a couple of tracks it was kind of boring. There was some moments where Stevie was showing his harmonic prowess but this was too bland for my palette
Eh….disappointing. Nothing special here.
Not Stevie's best. Not without highlights ... but I really hope there is more of his earlier work on this list.
Didn't love this album. Lots of great songs, but just not my speed. There were maybe 2 tracks that sparked my interest but otherwise the music fell into the background. Excited to hear some other Stevie Wonder albums though. Dude is a legend.
They Won't Go When I Go, the standout.
Not his best album but pretty good. High 2.
This is probably sacrilegious, but there's an awful lot of Stevie Wonder songs I don't care for. I mean, obviously, I love "Sir Duke" and "Superstitious" and a bunch of his songs. I'm not a monster. But, it's like... When he hits, he REALLY hits, but a lot of it I find is either too saccharine for me, or too "smooth" for want of a better term. So, like, on this album... the first half of "Heaven is a Zillion Light Years Away" felt too "smooth" but then it got a groove on and I got into it. "Boogie On Reggae Woman" I seem to have previously pressed the like button on, although I don't think I've listened to the album before. But it also grooves! Creepin' I like because it sounds kind of ominous and weird. I can imagine being in the seventies and wearing a lot of beige and flares to it. Better harmonica playing than Bob Dylan too. The next songs are okay. "They won't go when I go" gave me chills. Why do I feel like I know it so well? "Bird of Beauty" I find genuinely annoying. The last track is kind of grating too. I'm sorry, I think we're looking at me giving this a 2, just because there's only a couple of songs I would choose to listen to again. But I'm going to try and listen to more Stevie Wonder to see if there's more I can get into or if I am really just a musical ignoramus. UPDATE: I like all of Innervisions. FURTHER UPDATE: And I love at least half of Songs In The Key Of Life. I feel less of a philistine now.
Not really what I expected from a Stevie wonder album and I can’t say I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t bad, it didn’t click with me. 2/5
Sorry Stevie
Snoozie Wonder.
I was honestly a little bored, felt bland
Not his best album
Not his best album
Not my favorite.
Skimmed through this one….
Stevie njae...
A little too "ballady" so far, not as funky as anticipated Album cover is great though Boogie on Reggae Woman is more what I was expecting You Haven't Done Nothin' SLAPS Please Don't Go ties the album together well; a nice mix of ballad, funk & soul - encapsulates feeling of album
favourite song: boogie on reggae woman meh
2 Guess I’m n
Liked it less than I thought I would.
Not a big Stevie Wonder fan and found it hard to pay attention to this album while it was on. If I had to choose fave songs, I think they would be "Boogie On Reggae Woman" and "Creepin"
This was painful for me. Not my style.
Seems fine, but not for me.
Not a big Stevie Wonder fan but this was quite gospel in places and enjoyed the last song
Prima impresie nu e wow. Nu e genul meu. E chill.
My least favorite SW album, unfortunately doesn't get better with age. Couldn't find a single song to add to the Kaizen playlist. Sad face.
Album Nr. 2. Nicht mein Ding.
Christ, whatever.
As much as I like a lot of Stevies music, I found this album very dull and boring, I wouldn't see me playing any of it again.
Menudo rollazo.
Si bebes no conduzcas.
Highlight 10 zillion miles away… I thought maybe I like some Stevie.
Paree ku odotin! 2.5
I'm sure it's great. I like some Stevie Wonder. This one just wasn't for me.
I was waffling between 2 and 3 stars. There were a couple of good songs, but the album really dips in the middle. Best Songs: Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away, Too Shy to Say Listen Again: Probably not
Boring with superstitious wannabe song (You Haven’t Done Nothin’). I have come to the conclusion I’m just not a Stevie wonder fan
2 It's just totally fine. Nothing remarkable, but a decent listen
Okay.
slow
I love Stevie Wonder but did not enjoy this album very much.
I wasn't a big fan. There were moments where I heard the Stevie Wonder that I am most familiar with, but there were other songs that felt less funk heavy and more ... instrumental.
Gear: Aür Audio Aurora Artwork: 💊💭🏜️ Production: 🎧❤️🫨 Music: 🎹🤡😬 Rating: 🕶️🕶️/5
Nothing of note.
nicht mein geschmack so jazzzzzzz
R&B^2 Soul (read: touch preachy) then pickup vibes S/O: Boogie On Reggae Woman, You Haven't Done Nothin'
Stevie Wonder doesn’t reveal how strong his voice is until “They Won’t Go When I Go”. The last 3 songs are all very strong, but before that the album is listening at its easiest.
Ikkje vidare til Oslo
Not nearly as good as I thought it would be. The up beat stuff was great, the slow love songs were not for me.
Menudo rollazo.
Not for me
It's too slow which makes it boring. The lyrics are sometimes charming but are constantly followed by some weird sounds. Boogie On Reggae Woman is the most annoying song I have heard in a while. It's so bad.His pronounciation is horrible on purpose and I don't like the harmonicas throughout the album. It's badly sung. Smile Please had some potential to be okay but that chorus is awful with the "bom aaaaa" sound all the time. Heaven Is A 10 Zillion Light Years Away is probably the best song and it is okay. You Haven't Done Nothing and It Ain't No Use are ok as well. "Bye bye" part in It Ain't No Use is too repetitive and could be sung better. He can write some interesting and nice lyrics though. It might have been better if you read the album instead of listening to it. All in all the album has a lot of elements that I don't enjoy such as instrumentation choice. It definately could use some better singing, especially the backing vocals and better writing in choruses. Maybe it was groundbreaking for it's time but it's very poor now.
Very chilled vibes but nothing exciting 2/5
Too much warbling. Prefer funky Wonder.
Bad
not the biggest fan but didn't listen to it all
Wanted to like it, but didn't. Just not for me.
This was pretty bland but Boogie on Reggae Woman was the stand out.
The unmistakable sound of Stevie Wonder, a mix of songs (none of which I recognised) including some slow numbers and many uptempo with a funky bass.
kinda resident sleeper. I love songs in the key of life. but honestly all his songs are starting to sound the same to me.
Funky, 60s soul - love ballad heavy
only song in enjoyed was "you haven't done nothin' " but to be fair not really my taste when it comes to music 2/5
Was really looking forward to this but was a little disappointed. A couple of bright spots. You ain’t done nothin was a favourite for me.
The funky songs: yes, everything else: absolutely not
Eh
talented beyond equals, boring as hell.
It’s better when the funk hits
Supposedly one of the classic 4, but this album in nway is as good as "Talking Book" or "Innervisions".
Have some mercy, I've stopped hating soul not so long ago, Stevie is still to much for me.
Maybe it takes more life experience to really appreciate this. An old soul.
Not bad but not for me
I'm sorry Stevie, i just don't feel it, or his spirit
this just confirms to me that I don't like RnB. The runs ruin the music for me. Idk why but I deeply dislike this kind of singing.
I think I was too frustrated during listening to really appreciate, may have to give this another try?
2. Hate to say it but I didn't love the album.
Haven’t listened to Stevie wonder since his collab with 98 degrees for the Mulan soundtrack. Anyway some songs were cool but a lot were just very churchy or melodramatic and no thank yaaaa
It was fine 2.5/5
Too many religious overtones for me
Menudo rollazo.
I wanted more. Even the boogie tracks are too gentle.
Jammer hoor.
1st listen: 1. Smile Please: has some interesting vocal arrangements, but that's about it. 2. Heaven Is 10 Zillion: starts out awesome, but the religious nonsense is really making me hate it. 3. Too Shy to Say: has some emotive vocals, but please don't make me listen again. 4. Boogie On Reggae Woman: thank you. This track is what I'm here for. Killer groove. 5. Creepin': good enough but forgettable. 6. You Haven't Done Nothin': definitely has some "Superstitious" vibes. Not sure which song came first, but this song is another welcome relief on this album. 7. It Ain't No Use: downgrade from the last track, but keeps the vibe going pretty well. 8. They Won't Go: more sappy bullshit. Stevie voice is great, but this is not what I want to hear. 9. Bird of Beauty: better than the last track but still boring and forgettable. 10. Please Don't Go: going out with a whimper. More crap. 2nd listen: 1. Smile Please: grew in me a bit. I could listen to this but won't be requesting it. 6/10 2. Heaven Is 10 Zillion: this would be an awesome song if the lyrics weren't a bunch of cliche spiritual crap. 5.5/10 3. Too Shy to Say: SKIP. 2/10 4. Boogie On Reggae Woman: Pure bliss after tracks 1-3. 8.5/10. 5. Creepin': skip after 1 minute. 4/10 6. You Haven't Done Nothin': refreshing to get the funk back. 7.5/10 7. It Ain't No Use: Grew on me. Likable but won't be making any of my playlists. 6.5/10 8. They Won't Go: SKIP. 2/10 9. Bird of Beauty: SKIP. 4/10 10. Please Don't Go: SKIP. 2/10 5/10
I’ll be honest, I just can’t get in to Stevie Wonder
First song good Creepin is interesting Bird of Beauty is fun (best song on album?) Everything else is sort of boring ballady
not my style. didn't finish
Nope, no thank you.
Cheese
Doesn't do anything for me. Some of the songs are pretty nice i guess. Would dance to boogie on reggae woman. Didn't manage to listen properly. Will revisit.
Beautiful singing voice but the songs sound a little too identical for my taste.
Groovy funky not my fav from wonder but still good
meh
Too much god
Sounds similar to the one I just reviewed a few days ago. It's fine, he's an incredible talent, but like that other album and most of his catalog, just doesn't do that much for me.
Yet again basically the same as any other Stevie Wonder album we have listened to. Nothing spectacular. 2/5
It's cool.
There's a reason why you don't go to church on Sundays... Cause it's boring...
alrighttt
Not actually blind. I didn't really enjoy this at all. Does that make me a bad person? It was pretty shit.
It was okay.
Smooth and funky in parts, but I don't think it warrants a place in the 1001. He has better albums and they are in the list.
Not my favorite Stevie Wonder album, but still OK. A bit too slow, but it had it's moments.
Me aburrió, prefiero otros de Stevie
There are some decent songs on the album. No killers and not the strongest Stevie album I've listened to.
Pretty easy listening. Nothing too special
Boring and slow
Having taken one (1) astrophysics course in graduate school, I am completely qualified to make the following assessment: If we estimate a zillion as being equal to 10^33 and take our reference point to heaven as the center of the universe, it is located ~10^24 light years away from the edge of the known universe. Assuming the rate of cosmic expansion holds constant at 67.4 km/s/megaparsec and taking the edge as a static point (not an extended unit of length that will expand itself), this implies that it will make contact with heaven in (10^12 ly)*(9.46*10^12 km/ly)*(67.4 km/s)^(-1)= half a million billion years (4.45*10^14 centuries).
Has some great funky moments but for most of it is quite “meh”
Boogie On Regae & You Have…..were great hits the other songs were okay but Stevie has so many more amazing songs
2/5 nothing much.
not for me
One track was stand out and although I like some Stevie Wonder this was underwhelming so sadly high 2*
it's fine
This is Stevie Wonder's seventeenth album of progressive soul music. The album won Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal, Best Male Rhythm and Blues Vocal Performance (for "Boogie On Reggae Woman"), and Album of the Year in 1974. It was a beautiful, but short album. I enjoyed listening to it, but it's not my type of music.
I don’t mine Stevie Wonder at all, but this album is just boring from start to finish
Good album… remember the oldies
Wonder Bread.
The album passed me by without me feeling the need to look down and think what’s this track- apart from ‘you haven’t done nothing’ which i checked the title out for the pure reason of thinking… is this not the same song different vocals as one of his other songs! Apart from that the best thing on the album was the saxophone coming in during the last track which already sounded ‘ok!’ Best track- ‘please don’t go’ Worst track- could have been a few but ‘heaven is 10 zillion light years away’ grated me near the start. Another disappointing listen on this 1001 journey. 1.5/10
Stevie Wonder Things I don't really need, or enjoy, in songs. Track 1 - Bom diddly bom Track 2 - Cookie Monster backing vocals Track 3 - Farty funk that is a pale imitation of the farty funk on the infinitely better previous album Track 4 - A song about dreams that sends me to sleep Track 5 - A song with The Jackson 5 that then barely features The Jackson 5 whilst also being another pale imitation of a better song from theast album Track 6 - Soporific rubbish with a chorus and coda that exists of the words "bye" and "oh" repeated ad nauseum. Track 7 - Bloody hell, a proper song I can't object to. I mean, it is a miserable one but, you know, it'll do. Track 8 - No one needs a talking drum or cuica or whatever is squeaking its way through a song. Normal drums are good though. Stevie always played drums with quite a swagger. Track 9 - No complaints. Best Track - last one Worst track - bye bye bye bye bye bye bye 1.5/10 Realise all my track numbers are out cos the real track 3 totally passed me by without me noticing which says it all. Shuffle the rest down one.
it made me anxious
I always thought I was a Stevie Wonder fan… but this album proves I am only a fan of maybe 4 Stevie wonder songs. This would not be an album I would pick again.
I was hoping to get something a bit more soulful and a bit less god-bothering. No problem if that's your bag but it detracts from it for me. Accomplished for sure but just a bit distracting and frankly a bit bland overall. No idea where this album sits in the Stevie Wonder catalogue but it's bargain bin from my perspective.
Not my favorite album, but I could listen to it if needed.
Not a fan of harpsichords and crooners.
I can't listen past Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away because he's singing about God and saving our evil souls. Fuck off.
Nah, not for me. Bit simple/boring I think
This is a joke right? He sings like people who used to get made fun of on American Idol, he's got the unbearably sappy/dumb lyrics (please see Heaven is a Zillion Lightyears Away for a double whammy) and his only appeal is that he's blind. Somebody had to say it. If I used the fucking autotune iPod app from 2008 or whatever to stumble through horrible vocal runs and smiled behind dark sunglasses, would you let me on the list? Pretty please? A truly miserable experience and completely valueless as a record. Please repackage this with somebody else's face slapped on the front and say his name is Cobert "The Budgie" Trunkler. Something tells me it won't be as easy to wince through this warbling, sloppy, and cringe-inducing slab of pure high octane corn syrup. Emphasis on CORN(y). 0 HIGHLIGHTS: Cramped seats at a midseason Roller Hockey International game in 32 degree weather. Celsius in case any of "you" are in the room with us.
Love Stevie, but not this one
Do not enjoy
Easy listening music for old people

Never liked him.
15th album with group. I’m a proud Stevie Wonder hater. He wasn’t innovative or good, and he wouldn’t be remembered if he wasn’t blind. I think being blind makes him an interesting character which in turn made everyone think his music was good. Good Songs - Smile Please and Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away. Bad Songs - Too Shy to Say, Boogie on Reggae Women, Creepin’, You Haven’t Done Nothin’, It Ain’t No Use, They Won’t Go When I Go, Bird of Beauty, and Please Don’t Go.
this was honestly so boring
Not my style
Hab's nicht geschafft...
Didn't get much out of this Stevie entry. I can understand why he has a following and is a cultural icon but this album doesn't seem to belong on the list. I enjoyed Boogie On Reggae Woman but otherwise this album came up mostly empty. Nice to see a shout out to the Jackson 5 thrown in I guess. I'd relegate Fulfillingness off the list since we already have 3 other Stevie Wonder albums on here. 1.18 stars
Not my cup of team. Music and flow were not natural to me.
Too many ballads.
Not my taste

Not listened
Stevie Wonder is definitely in the top 10 most overrated artists. Boring, dated sounding.
I like SW, but couldn't get into this.
Stevie wonder is too pop in the 60s- and just turns into total schlock in the 70s. His classic period is utterly repulsive to me. I’m sure this is a minority opinion, but the songwriting, the textures, the vocals- none of it does a thing for me. Compares well to modern pop music perhaps, but that’s not saying much.
NO ToT idk what it is but I've never grimaced at an album harder in my life

Surprisingly, it seems I just don't like Stevie Wonder...
Wow! I like Stevie Wonder...but that was awful!
Not my tast
No
Also Shite
I know it's good, but here's where I commit henceforth to rate things based on how much I enjoy them and not how good I think they are in any technical sense or by cultural importance. And this album had zero bangers. Boogie On just never let loose like I wanted it to, but I enjoyed the bass picking. You Haven't Done Nothin was still the far side of riled but on the scale we were working in the even muted feeling was nice. They won't go had like a great two minutes and then I was waiting for it to end. I'm not sure what the best circumstances are to listen to an entire album this down tempo and mild, but I never reached that state today.
He's talented but this album didnt do much for me
He's a good musician, song-writer. Only thing is, I'm just not into his music. Tried again with this album to no avail. 1/5
I did not like this. Stuff like this reminds me of when my mom would try to force me to listen to music like this. I don’t love this type of music, there are exceptions. But this is not one of them.
Well that settles it, I am not a Stevie Wonder fan. This is the second album I’ve had of his on this list and again it did nothing for me. Some of the more upbeat tunes are kind of fun, like Boogie On, but even that one I got bored of after 45 seconds. Most of his songs on this album are slow ballads and they are capital B BORING!
Irgendwie mag ich Stevies Musik nicht.
Wow I just really don’t like Stevie Wonder.
Dröger progressive Soul. Mitreißend sieht anders aus.
Couldn't do it....Kept wanting to skip.
Easy listening but not for me. 1/5
That shit was horrible.
not a fan
Didn’t care for this one
Only really liked one song - Boogie on a Reggae Woman Nothing else really took my interest.
Latteuksia. Myös karmeuksia: tikuttava funkbasso siellä, jazzahtavan höpsöttelevä sointuvaihdos täällä.
1,5 Warum ist das auf der Liste?Langweiliger Kuschelsoul. Total cheesy, too much.
I'm three tracks into this record, and surprised at how dull it is. Thank god for track 4 the more familiar and funky \"Boogie on Reggae Woman\", this has all of the traits I associate with SW. \"Creepin\", is a return of the dull MOR soul music I find to bland to connect with. \"You Haven't Done Nothin\" is a highlight, and \"They Won't Go When I Go\" is one of the best slow tracks on the record. CONTROVERSIAL - George Michael's version is better.....sorry I know there will be plenty who will be offended by this comment but it is. the last few tracks I skipped over, this really didn't work for me.
Not to my taste
stevie wonders whole back catalogue has about 5 good songs in it. some of those are so huge they are almost as large as SHACK, but the rest is so terrible they are best represented by a malnourished foetal painted swiss cretin.
Meh, not his best album by any stretch.
