Oldschool Hip Hop
Not the worst hip-hop album ever, but also not even close to converting me into the genre
cool and fun, but not really my cup of tea. I found it hard to tell songs apart at times. Many of the songs were much too repetitive for my taste; just a simple backing track looped over and over. cool cover art. Lyrically it was fun but musically it didn't do much for me. Favorite lyric was about columbus thinking the world was a square.
An hour-long album was a bad call here. You trim off the twenty minutes of fat that is monotonous beats and shallow rhymes, you'd have something truly tight.
Not super great! There's some fun tracks, and it certainly starts out good enough. But it's just too long, and there are some songs that definitely should've been cut. If it were shorter and some of the bad songs were cut, it'd be a bit better, but I still don't think it'd be great or anything. I'm honestly not sure if this deserved to be on the list.
Infectious but repetitive grooves. Well-crafted, socially-conscious lyrics. Overall a bit of a one note experience. Felt way longer than it was.
Wasn’t bad, but just doesn’t do it for me.
couple of alright tracks but a bit earnest, a bit boring, and a bit dated. meh.
This isn’t for me
Sorry…not for me..😕

eh
Never heard of the jungle brothers prior to this, the music was funky crazy and all over the place
No eipä ollut kummoista Viidakkoveljesten musa.
Cool funk/jazz sampled tracks
Vähän leppoisampaa menoa kuin aiemmat 80-90 -luvun taitteen rapteokset listalla. Taustamusiikkina meni ihan mukavasti mutta eipä tästä oikein mitään mitään jäänyt mieleen parilla kuuntelukerralla. Kovasti oli ylimittainen eikä jaksanut pitää otteessaan.
Good old school hip hop
Flaccid
Not my thing
I'm not sure why this album is on the essential list
Hiphop.. not my thing

Sorry but no 💦

0.6/5 Another album that solidifies my dislike for East Coast Hip Hop.
Definitely a poor man's Wu Tang with less experienced rhythms. The lyrics are a bit on the childish side as well though it is a fun album. Is it a rap album I could have lived my life without hearing? Sure, so many others that should be ahead of this specific album.
Yet another boring Hip-Hop album from a band that I've never heard of.
I’m not really into hip-hop, but despite that, I did listen to most of this album. Unfortunately, I won’t be listening to it again…
Crap
I expected more from this when other reviews said it was pre gangsta rap. It was still shite !
Not available in this part of the world- found that to be a relief.
90 talls hip hop som ikke har overlevd
not available
I cannot imagine paying to listen to this "music"
nah
I've never liked hip hop and this album didn't change my mind. I assume the main point of it is the lyrics but I can't follow the accent and slang used so so it's a lost cause for me.
Did nothing for me
I don’t like it
Can not play on spotify

Hip Hop, 40eme album =>1/5
not my thing
Mer rap, orkar inte lyssna.
Didn't enjoy this at all. Good rhythms from time to time, but I don't remember anything else about it - and I listened to it just an hour ago.
Rap music is very unpleasant to me. This one is no exception. I just can't get beyond a 1.
Very boring
What a silly cover. But it fits the content. Just hip hop. It's not music. It's like a lecture or a speech with some kind of rhythm booming in the background. At least the listener wasn't constantly shouted at on this album. 1/5
Not my kind of thing..
Yet another hip hop album over an hour long. No need for it in my opinion. I quite liked how this was a very positive and upbeat sounding record in comparison to a lot of rap. It's got a cool groove and at times is quite danceable. 'Wat U Waitin' 4' being the best here. The beat is heavy on the funky, foot tapping bass. The second half of 'Good New Comin'' is really good too. It's got a spritely guitar solo with a lovely, catchy rhythm guitar too. 'Doin' Our Own Dang' is another highlight, again, because of the beat. This time it's a funky piano and bass combo. The actual rapping didn't really impress me or grab my attention. It's good but not amazing. Overall the beats feel very plain and the tracks really run together a lot and I was bored for most of this. There's some upbeat funk, but I want more! Three tracks I enjoyed out of sixteen isn't good enough I'm afraid.
Did absolutely nothing for me. No idea how that got on the list.
Hard to find and did not enjoy it
I'm pretty sure I might have heard this about 35 years ago, but with Spotify blocking the majority of the album it is difficult to say.
Absolutely not my jam.
This does absolutely nothing for me.
Not gonna lie I didn’t even finish this one. Ik it was ‘89 and maybe this was influential overall but I just can do another 20 minutes of predictable rhymes. A tisket, a tasket, I wonder what’s in that basket. Like what dude
This was a bit of a snooze. The beats were all the same sounding and the lyrics were a chore to sit through. I'm not saying I want rap to be about thug life. But I do want it, and all music, to have some emotional heft.
The moment I saw it’s hip hop from the eighties I had very low expectations… and after listening to the music I was vindicated. I mean, I’m no huge hip hop fan, but I can enjoy a lot of it, and really like some stuff like The Roots, Kanye or Dead Prez. Thing is about old school hip hop is that you usually get a very basic drum loop, a rapper that would be considered no good by modern standards, and maybe some basic loop sample. This is what we get here. It’s all very basic and dull. I can accept that it’s historically and culturally significant, and it could be a ton of fun to dance to in a party, but just as listening material it’s not enough.
The Good: There are lions in the jungle… The Bad: The lion hasn’t been able to eat anything for a while, and it’s getting hungry… The Ugly: I guess the mess the lion will leave behind once he’s able to kill something… Yes, as you can tell, there isn’t much positive I can say about this album. I have had to sit through 4 hip-hop albums this week, and thought this one isn’t the worst of them all, my level of irritation is. So please, if you happen to belong to the fan club of Jungle Brothers, don’t cry about my low score… cry about the poor family of whomever it was that the lion ate! 1*
More hip hop? Sigh...well let's give this a listen...well, it's pretty dull samey stuff throughout. Not my thing at all.
Not my cup of tea
No thanks :(
Just more irritating crap.
This reminds me of the way pandas eat. It's a fascination for a select few, but to the rest of us it's not a rather useless way to spend time
I actually like this -it's quite clever and easy to listen to but...... I switched the playlist to Grandmaster Flash who was doing this a decade before. Why vote for plagiarists?
Definitely could have lived without enduring this.
Too much jungle not enough brothers
80s rap.
Jag ska skicka en brevbomb till författaren.
Hip Hop
I’m not a fan of most rap. Including this one
No.
Nonderdeju, alweer hip-hop? Wat wil je, mij chagrijnig maken? Wat een bagger, maar wel netjes uitgedraaid. 2/5
Nope
Sorry, skipped most songs. Not my style
Schlechter Hiphop.
Belly Dancin’ Dina // Kool Accordin’ “2” a Jungle Brother 1.5/5

Dated, didn't like this type of music at the time. Still don't. Each to their own.
I have lost all patience for rap.
old shit
Some interesting beats, but still not a rap fan
Awful album!!!!
Boring rap album. No instrumental based beats. Heavy on drums and lyrics.
There is something that I am missing here. The rhymes are not that interesting, the beats are forgettable and lack a punch and I am just baffled that this is even here. It has to be a one star even if it has influenced others to make much better rap music in the future. Nothing else to say
Not my style

Probably revolutionary back then, but too much old school for me.
