I was hoping for more albums like this one, excellent! Listened to it and played it again immediately.

Revolutionary
Heard a bit of the Stooges and The Beach Boys- interesting combo. And liked some of the lyrics. But I have moved on from this nihilistic phase of my life (thank god).
Reminded me too much of my Southern Baptist upbringing, and not in a good way. Nice mandolin tho.
A bit dark for my tastes but his voice is fantastic.
This was an album that was approximately included in the 1001 albums to listen to before you die. Had heard of Nick Drake but never listened to any of his music. Can’t say it was a favorite but lyrics are awesome and loved the voice. Was interesting that he worked with Richard Thompson.
Wanted to like this album but the lyrics and ideas died out at the end. Loved the original concept.
Nope, beat is good but totally sexist shit.
Nope
Ground breaking album!
Interesting voice but not my style of music, gave it a 2 for her song writing talent
AMAZING ALBUM!!! Have love this and all of his 70s music since it came out.
Best find on the list so far!
Would give it a 10 if possible
Slick, easy listening
Could it be anything other than a 4?
Original but ,,,,
Lots of R&B singers reference Solomon Burke, now I know why.
Interesting production, not much for the lyrics. Different in a good way but could not get into it.
Torn between 3 and 4
Had not listened to this album in a long time - found I liked it a lot more this time. Great diversity of songs and song writing.
Never listened to this before, never will again.
Downward spiral is correct.
No much into house music but this is pretty good
Run of the mill. Not interesting.
Nothing gets me dancing faster than Sly and the Family Stone. And the lyrics! Lots of lessons for today.
Loved it when it can out, still do.
Housecleaning music at best
When this came out I did not like it much, would have given it a 2 maybe a 3. After 40+ years, I understand and appreciate the feelings behind the song. Experience is a great teacher.
S’alright.
Zzzzzzzzzzz
Few good songs but not my cup of tea.
Sleep music
Surprisingly enjoyable
Ballad king with interesting lyrics.
Nothing new
About 30 years too late
Background music
Punk techno
Irritating
Maybe music to put you to sleep?
Don’t listen to rap much but this seems like a classic.
Surprisingly interesting.
Love the concept but a bit repetitive
Horrible
A 2 for being one, if not the first psych rock
Wish I still had the energy to enjoy this album more.
Ground breaking album!
This album is one of the reasons I started this 1001 journey, what a surprise it was. Downloaded it immediately.
The Kinks are the English version of the Beachboys - Waterloo Sunset is a classic!
Had the privilege to see Bruce three times during the 1978 tour supporting this album. Had never Hearn ANY of his music before but was a total believer afterwards. His lyrics have the ability to relate to men and women, an extremely rare talent in the music industry. And great tunes! Not one throwaway song. All of them are still inspiring to me, almost 50 years later. Love you Bruce, miss you Clarence!
Now I know why this is titled 1001 Albums You Should listen to and not music you should listen to before you die.
Not a big bluegrass fan but this one is a true classic.
Struggled on this one, the poetry is awesome, especially considering Cohen died soon after the album was released.
Lounge music
Classic.
I was hoping for more albums like this one, excellent! Listened to it and played it again immediately.
All sounds the same. Much better blues elsewhere.
No where near as good as the first album. This geezer needs excitement.
Aretha is awesome and so is this album!
Did not age well
The combination of Iggy and Bowie did not work for me, seems it was more of a Bowie album.
